Yo no Creo En Los Hombres #26 Tues 8/18/15
Labels: no-creo
I'm so disappointed with Ivana, but not surprised. She's not even listening to Gerry. I hope when she brings Jacinto back that all her workers walk off the job in protest. How selfish of her to put all of those women who work for her in this pervert's hands.
I had before thought Isela was a mixed up young woman, but now I think she really has a screw loose. I think she had actually convinced herself that she was raped (and hadn't just almost accomplished her goal of seducing her boss), by the time she got to Orly's door. I half believed her myself and thought me had missed a scene of her getting attacked on the subway, she was that convincing.
But then she goes and convincingly lies the next morning about spending the night with Bustamante. And was convincing then too. Even going as far as attempting to take the morning after pill, when she hadn't had sex with anyone! Was she testing Josefa, to see just how far Jo would push her in this revenge plot? She certainly learned that Jo wants her to get pregnant, and wants her to use the baby as a tool. And Isela is not down with that. What will this crazy girl do next?
I was also extremely disappointed by Ivana's actions. This brings me back to Friday's episode when she went to MD's place to rub it in her face about Daniel and I couldn't help but laugh because, if anything MD ended up winning.
Ivana has a lot of things she needs to deal with before she can be happy, hopefully she realizes it soon before Daniel sticks his teeth in her permanently.
But wait; there's more!
After 20+ years with the husband there was a divorce. She got back in touch with Pathological Liar when one found the other on the internet. I had a link to an article on "heart-rape" which perfectly described how this guy played her and sent it off to her. She read the article and forwarded the e-mail to him with a note about how I "didn't know love." He sent me a nasty e-mail in return. I read it to her on the phone and she said "This must be a mistake."
It wasn't. I forwarded it to her. He subsequently told her that he had accidentally hit "reply to all", which was how I got it. Since she didn't cc me on her forward to him this was a bold-faced lie and I told her that. She still believed him. This almost ended our friendship.
Nothing for a while then a couple of years later they were in touch again having phone sex. In the end he didn't come to her state (from halfway across the country) and there was a series of insults I no longer remember. I told her she should just block him on Facebook and lose his phone number. After that she hasn't said a word about him. I often wonder whether they're in touch again and she's afraid to tell me.
I thought Isela said she wanted her "first time" to be with Orlando, not Bustamente, thus Isela and Orlando had sex the night before the whole morning after pill thing was a ruse.
No spoiler : Ivana has lost the baby, won't tell anyone, and will go ahead and marry Daniel for revenge.
And they much m mentioned the word atado (atado) so much you can count on her being pregnant. Boy Daniel really is a marksman worth his bullets; one time each and both are pregnant.

So the Claudio-Isela sex took place in the hospital, before Claudio even got the news that Leo would be okay? That's nuts. I will not mind seeing Claudio squirm if Josefa's awful plan works.
Not liking Ivana letting Dan off the hook but blaming MD for everything. I want better for Gerry. I agree with the comment (sorry don't remember who said it) that Ivana is also envious of MD's talent.
I feel so bad for Isela, but Doris is my favorite protag and I think she and Orlando will make a great couple. Which is bad news for Isela because right now it seems like Oralando is the only thing keeping her one foot on the "good" side.
So last night we got the concrete proof that Maleny killed her dad! It certainly made me more sympathetic to her case and explains her character a little more. It's a little ironic that last week Alma was asking Max if his attraction to D wasn't based on his desire to help; now I"m wondering if that has been the case with Maleny at all. Maybe he was responding the the little girl lost part of her, because otherwise I'm not sure what they have in common other than the habit of affection.
For something that cock roach she's about to decieve did to her. And he did this to both of them. And like you said she's subjecting these women to that pervert. And he's gonna
Sexually harass them again. And if I was them I'd sue her and her company. Cause hes a lyin dog and hes gonna be worse. She kinda has a problem with women MD's size.
Thats not her(MD)fault. Ivana needs to love herself, and stop trusting the wrong people,
And stupping to their level.
Wow. Writing that down makes me realize how crazy this whole situation is.
I haven't been commenting because I don't want to give away any spoilers. I saw the Mexican version and yes Univision did chop up the scene between Claudio and Isela. They DID have sex in the hospital room. I hope this clears things up for everyone. I would like to encourage everyone who is watching this or thinking of seeing this novela to do so, IMO it's the best novela to come out of Mexico last year (followed closely by El Color de la Pasion). The acting by this ensemble cast is just excellent (especially Daniel and Maleny). The writing and plot twists are also great, devoid of the usual cliches for the most part.
I'm in a place where there is no internet connection (incredibly, such places really DO still exist...), so have not been able to keep up nearly as much as I'd like to, but I'd still like to give a shout out of thanks to all of the recappers AND commenters for this novela, it's been a joy following all of you, as you follow this.
I LOVED this novela when it first came out, and, still, now consider it to be among my very favorites. The ensemble here I believe to be among the best I've seen in any novela and- as someone here pointed out- everyone from the main cast to the extras all seem to 'bring it' day in and day out, and work so incredibly together. To me, it's no wonder that it won so many acting awards, and I'm among the legion that feel that it got robbed of the TvyNovela award for best novela (losing out to the schmalz of 'Mi corazon es tuyo'). But it was defintiely the most lauded and awarded novela of the year and, like I said, it was the overwhelming winner of awards for acting. Here are the actors who took home acting trophies:
Adriana Louvier (Maria Dolores)- Best Lead Actress
Rosa Maria Bianchi (Ursula)- Best First Actress
Fabiola Guajardo (Isela)- Best Co-Star Actress
Cecilia Toussaint (Honoria)- Best Supporting Actress
Flavio Medina (Daniel)- Best Male Antagonist, Best Villain (Male) (as voted by the public)
Azela Robinson (Josefa)- Best Villain (Female) (as voted by the public)
(I also think that Estefania Villareal (Doris) got robbed for the Best Young Actress trophy, as she was nominated... but in retrospect the young winner from 'Mi corazon es tuyo' really did do a kick-ass job also).
It's just such a deeply personal, almost intimate novela- it doesn't involve anything grand- nobody competing for a fortune, or vast property, or anything like that... just a bunch of very human, deeply flawed people, and about how they interact with one another- for good and for ill. I've really enjoyed reliving it through the most-excellent recaps, and reading of all of your varying reactions and responses to all the myriad goings-on. I look forward to hearing of all of your various thoughts on YNCELH, both thus far, and moving forward as it continues apace (not saying anything, here!! ;-) ) and, again- thanks to you all for sharing.
With my continued best wishes to all...
S. :-)
