Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse #8 Thu 9/3/15 (Mex 8-9)

Benito lays a wet one on Fiorella and gets a slap for his trouble. She asks if he's gone crazy and she storms out. Vito arrives and asks the same thing. And then wonders about the ragazza Benito was kissing. Benito denies he was kissing a ragazza...so of course Vito asks if maybe Benito was kissing a ragazzo. Benito denies that too and says the girl was just a friend.

Eloisa holds court. She is ready modify the leadership in the company. The new leader of the company shall be...

WAIT ABUELA!! Pedro comes running in. He had a few complications that held him up, but he's here now. He butters her up with blue orchids.

Finally! The Restless and the Worthless (™ Susanlynn) will get to hear the reading of the will. Drumroll please...

Pedro will be the albacea (legal executor.) Sergio is happy about this. Osvaldo isn't surprised. Pedro was always a favorite. Sonia sucks up. He's right there people...

Eloisa will be the sole heir of the properties and the business (whatever the hell it is.)

Adela has called and Fiorella promises to take care of things before hanging up. She mumbles to herself about such nice parents having such a wiener for a son. She sees a note. Gianna has gone to the hospital!!

There's a hand-written letter from Maximo. Eloisa tries to blow it off as not official and dismisses everyone. Pedro manages to talk her down. Grandpa would want her to read it. The lawyer informs the group the Maximo requested that Pedro read the letter.

Fifi asks about Gigi at the hospital reception about the same time the doctor and nurse are wheeling her out. The doctor wants to talk to Fifi. Why hasn't Gianna gotten her treatment? No money dude. He emphasizes that it's important that she get her treatment. He understands things aren't great right now, but Gianna's health is delicate. If she isn't cared for, her heart may not be able to take it.

Pedro and the Maximo voice over read the letter. Long story short: Maximo regretted his actions at the end. He's sure Eloisa will distribute the fortune with wisdom and not make the same mistakes he did. He hurt people who didn't deserve it. Everyone should stay and Rancho Los Ángeles and sing Kumbaya and care for each other and get along. Eloisa summed it up beautifully: "Ay! My husband must have gone crazy at the end."

Federica (Ha! Fedora-ica) grouses about being beholden to Eloisa. Osvaldo is pretty stoked about getting to live at the rancho. Eloisa reminds him that she has NOT said she is going to comply with Máximo's last wish. Roxana gripes about having to be nice. Gael thinks it might be nice for everyone to be together. Eloisa says it will be loads of fun living with a bunch of buitres (vultures) waiting for her to drop dead.

Pedro doesn't like the idea either, but he feels like it is some sort of test his grandfather has challenged them with. Eloisa informs them all that Maximo has sentenced them to a hell on earth and spits out a cold "Bienvenidos". She walks out. Pedro then turns to the vultures and tells them they can all leave if they want, but they are going to make an effort to be nice. Osvaldo thinks that a fine thing to say, considering Pedro is the favored one. Pedro wildly gesticulates in Osvaldo's face. Dude! You don't know diddly about how easy or hard my life is!! Just because your life is miserable, you have no right to an opinion about mine.

Julieta calls her rat bastard of a spouse, Aníbal (played by Francisco Gattorno *waggles eybrows* hubba hubba.) He's bathing with some beauty and bush***ing Julieta. They hang up. Sergio enters and suggests he and Julieta go get a drink. She rather sadly agrees.

Zacarias the PI has discovered that Fifi and Gigi left the hospital with one Adela Reyes.Vito recalls that Adela Reyes is Benito's mother's name. Benito accidentally pours water on a customer. Benito thinks there must be like 3 million Reyes's and heck, there are 3 Adelas in his family. Vito asks him to call his mother. Benito claims it's been a while since he talked to his mom, but he'd know if she had guests. And the other two live to far away. Benito just keeps telling Vito it's a bad idea to talk to them. Zacarias asks for the address of Benito's parents.

Quick cut to the apartment and Benito trying to hustle Fifi out of there. She flatly refuses. First that kiss and now he wants her to go with him to his house? She's not even his girlfriend! He tries to explain it's for her protection and they'll get married if she's so worried about her reputation (did I catch that right?) She throws him out of the house. Gigi comes out of the bedroom, drawn by the ruckus. Fifi fitfully flips through the diary.

Pedro's birthday party is today. Pedro tries to convince Eloisa to hire a new employee. She can help Joaquina and the older maid can better attend Eloisa. Pedro makes up a story about them being the daughters of a long-time employee who left them. Eloisa refuses and walks away. Fifi calls Pedro and says she got the number from Tan's diary. If he doesn't take her to the rancho, she's going to turn the diary over to the press. Pedro says he'll be right there. He hangs up and calls Fidel and tells him to go take care of "La Italiana" and calm her down.

I think the opening credits are totally false advertising. I wanted to see Fifi toss mop water on Pedro.

Fidel goes to Fifi at the apartment. Gigi comes in all fainty (DRINK!) and says she doesn't feel well. Tears and a moving speech by Fifi. She just wants to take her sister where she can be taken care of in clean air.

Pedro will be having an Italian themed party it seems. The waiters will all be dressed like gondoliers. Eloisa wants Pedro to feel like a king and for the Italian investors to realize that the Los Ángeles family is the best option to do business with (whatever the business is.) Julieta assures her everything will be fine.

Benito takes the detective to his parent's apartment. They find a note Fifi left explaining that she's had to leave suddenly and thanking Adela.

Eloisa arrives at the party and tells Pedro he has to find the best spot to watch the fireworks. All the vultures lie in wait....for the fireworks.

Vito asks what's next. Zacarias wants to talk to Adela and her husband. Vito asks how they got the info if they didn't talk to Benito's parents. Benito tells him about breaking and entering going in and finding the note. The neighbors said they saw them leave and that one of them was sick. Vito declares that they will talk to Benito's parents tomorrow.

Pedro is outside his party calling Fidel...who isn't answering. Fiorella comes up. She's reminded of her Italy. She filches half a tray of hors d'oeuvres from a waiter. Pedro runs up and tries to drag her away. Fifi needs to use the bathroom. Anyway, she thinks Fidel brought her on Pedro's orders and gets made when he tells her that he made no such order. They argue and the fireworks begin. No, really...real ones. They take Fifi by surprise and she jumps into Pedro's arms. Aaaaand he looks cold hearted and just tells her it's best she leave. She doesn't want to leave. Pedro asks about Fidel and she tells him that he was going to set up a place for them in the employees quarters? Pedro tires to get her out of there, but Eloisa starts calling for him. He shoves her in some bushes. I think Jose Ron could be pretty good at comedy...or maybe I was already in a silly mood from my afternoon novela. Then we just get a series of scenes meant for light humor I think. With some bitching thrown in.
  • Fidel finds out Fifi went rogue.
  • Gigi looks for Fifi too.
  • Fifi comes back to the spot they just left (doing the pipi dance.)
  • Eloisa gripes about the vultures.
  • Fidel informs Pedro about rogue Fifi and Pedro tells him to set the girls up in a hotel. He'll meet with them at the plaza tomorrow at TWELVE. Pedro will try to convince his grandmother to let them stay.
  • Roxana trips over Gianna. Mild cat fight. Gianna throws her shoe.
  • Fabio the Italian yells about the prices they keep changing. Osvaldo tries to argue his point but Pedro shuts him down and says to go get whisky for Fabio. Pedro assures Fabio is was a misunderstanding. Fiorella tuns up and bumps into Pedro...which causes him to spill wine all over Fabio. Fabio decides that's the last straw and he cancels the business deal.
  • Gianna looks on and explains it all to Fidel.
  • Fifi tries to apologize to Fabio and take the blame. He recognizes her as being from southern Italy. She reminds him that an Italian would not break a commitment for a simple disgusto (annoyance.) Fabio says something skeevy about her pretty face leaving him dry mouthed. (geez. I made it even skeevier) and asks her to promise him that they'll see each other again. Fifi promises she will...if Fabio promises not to break the deal with Pedro. Fabio gives her his card. "Call me." (Ok. Pedro is an ass. Fifi is a metiche, but these two have great interactions together.)
  • Gael plays with Roxana's button...no, a real button. Fedora takes a pic for later. I lvoe Fedora's style.
Pedro makes one more attempt to convince Eloisa to hire the girls. Pedro swears he's not got a special interest in them. He just wants to help the employee. He says something about hiring "the girl" and Eloisa remembers that earlier it was TWO girls. He tells her about the sick sister. Eloisa grumps about caring for the sick sister and asks again why Pedro is so intersted in them. He claims it's purely a noble-hearted gesture. As cranky as he and Eloisa try to act, deep down they actually are nice people. Whatever you say, dude.

Fidel drops the girls off at the hotel. And tells Fifi to meet Pedro tomorrow at ONE in the plaza (qué?)They are impressed. Gianna says something about Pedro bringing women there and thinks Fifi got a little jealous at the though. Fifi raids the mini fridge and says the stuff is free. Tune in tomorrow when Pedro gets the bill.

Go home Roxana, you're drunk.

I like to play this little game. It's called 7 degrees of "La Gata." In tonight's round I note that the song that Sonia chooses to sing is "Regalame un Beso", the theme song for "Mar de Amor" which was produced by LaToodle who also produced "La Gata."

I told you to go home Roxana. You're drunk and now you're dancing. That's right, Mr Security guard...drag her drunk ass away. Well played Eloisa.

Fifi and Gianna enjoy the (hopefully) complementary breakfast buffet.

Adela and Reynaldo return. Vio and Zacarias arrive to ask their questions. Benito warns his parents not to say anything about the girls. He'll explain everything later. Introductions are made.

Fabio is staying at the same hotel. He joins Fifi for breakfast and tells her he dreamed about her last night. It's totally skeevy.

Benito sort of leads his parents into saying he never knew the girls were there. You know how bad communication between parents and children can be. Reynaldo sort of runs with it. Zacarias wants to know why the girls were there and Adela explains about Gianna needing medical care. Vito is bummed about missing them once again. The thanks Adela for taking care of them. He asks the Reyes's to let him know if the girls return. Zacarias asks them to call him directly.

Fidel apologizes to Pedro for bringing the girls to the party. Pedro gives him a hard time for believing their story. Pedro is convinced they're grifting them. Fidel thinks Pedro may have some feeling for her. He gets all nervous and red-faced when she's around. Pedro says that's because he loathes her (la aborrezco) and is tired of fighting with her about Tania's death.

Fifi has shared her story with Fabio. She explains about coming to Mexico to marry and losing the information about her betrothed.

Eloisa asks Gael to explain the picture that looks like he's kissing Roxana. She insults him and Roxana. Roxana would rather be a vulgar drunk than old and bitter like Eloisa. Eloisa tells her to leave the house.

Fabio offers to pay for Fifi and Gianna's tickets back to Italy.

Reynaldo asks Benito why he hid the truth from Vito. Benito confesses it's because he loves Fifi and wants to marry her.

Fifi thanks Fabio, but she couldn't pay him back. She's got no money. He can think of a few things...like Fifi spending the night with him. Ewwww.

BTW-here's what I've been humming since we hit upon Gigi:

SARA thank you for the great recap! Too many funnies to name, but my favorite line: "Pedro wildly gesticulates in Osvaldo's face". Wow, Pedro showed an emotion! DRINK. Oh wait...we would all be pretty dry if we played that one.

Anyway, so glad the girls finally made it to the Rancho of the Angels. Quite the fancy hotel for what I assumed was a small outlying town. However the thought of all the buitres hanging out at grandma's for the foreseeable future is exhausting.

Thanks again Sara for covering all the action!

J in Oregon

Thank you so much Sara. Just what I needed. Hard when I haven't seen any of these people yet but at least I won't be lost.

thanks, Sara, for that fun start to my day. I loved the video. Gigi is one of my favorite movies. I love Leslie Caron and Louis Jourdan.

someone mentioned that the actress playing cranky Abuela was the pirate queen in Pasion. I notice that she is using the same voice for this part as she attempts to get her lazy, leechy relatives to walk the plank..I mean get out of her house.

Happy Birthday to the mirthless, frantic Pedro. At this point , I am more charmed by the cheater in the bubble bath. At least he seems happy.

Happy Labor Day weekend, all.

Thanks, ladies! I don't know what it was but I was really entertained by this episode and despite Pedro's heart being two sizes too small I saw a lot of potential in their interactions tonight. Jose Ron is growing on me.

Sara...There is probably some kind of ointment for that..heh. Jose is a dark and handsome guy..but Pedro is so joyless . I need smile once in awhile on that pretty face. I recently read a character described as Sad and handsome....thus, sadsome. So that would make Pedro what?.....Pissedsome.

Good morning, Sara. Gee, you added an order to this that I couldn't get by watching it. Just great.

I was confused by the slap stick superimposed on the grave concerns of Pedro; the Italian interlaced with the Spanish, and the fact that everyone was treated to the knowledge that Fifi had to pipi.

Ah, we got to hear Sonia sing. . . . . .(gulp). I hope 5ft had an adequate amount of adult beverage available for that. The polite desultory applause was funny.

Fifi and Gigi raiding the mini-bar thinking it must be free was cute, and totally in character for a couple of unsophisticated girls from rural Italy.

I don't know anything about flowers (I can barely tell a rose from a dandelion), but aren't orchids bigger than what Pedro gave his grandmother?

So, this episode had a charming disorder to it for me, and Sara, you helped me cut through it and see a pattern emerging.

David

Ha! Yeah, I guess that would be the word! He's also controllingsome, distrustfulsome, insultingsome and probably a bit of arrogantsome...maybe judgementalsome?

But cluelessome as well...did he not pick up the skeevy vibe from Fabio? Ah well, I guess for Pedro bidnez is bidnez.

Our comments crossed, David. Glad I could bring some sense to the episode. So my previous comment was for Susanlynn.

I'm not an orchid expert either. I can imagine that smaller varieties exist, but the shapes of those didn't look orchidy to me and I've never really heard of a bouquet of orchids. Doesn't one usually gift a planted orchid? I know my husband did for Valentine's day a couple years ago.

I'm looking forward to 5ft's critique Of Sonia's performance as well.

I'm still hoping that Gianna and Gael become a couple. He doesn't seem as vulturey as the rest. Or at least he hides it better. I think there's some goodness there.

No planning period today, but I'm looking forward to at least eavesdropping on the patio.

Sara..Sorry about no planning period. My daughter is happy to have her planning time at the beginning of the day this year.

Oh, I forgot to mention how much I enjoyed your "Fedora-ica." ...you can keep your hat on.

Fabio is muy skeevy. Ewww. I suppose that Pedro is going to save Fifi from him eventually.

Ay, Sara, mia sorella bella, grazie, mille grazie! Back to read comments in a minute. Sometimes I like to just react first.

Wait a minute, the "treatment" is Rancho Los Ángeles? The way the girl was falling out three times a day I figured she needed immediate hospitalization on the cardiac critical care unit and a transplant! Say What?

I LOVED these:

Federica (Ha! Fedora-ica)

Fifi fitfully flips through the diary.

Gael plays with Roxana's button...no, a real button.
HA!

As well as your summarizing the hijinks at the birthday party! I had a moment of terror as I thought the gondoliers were mimes! Phew! Funny how Gigi (thanks for the link, it shows "Gigi", like Fifi, is an affectionate nickname) got all feisty and spunky within 5 minutes of arriving at the Rancho and it's dark! Can you imagine what will happen when that clear, unfiltered sunlight hits her!

Diva and my other novela-love starved, you've probably already noticed above, but here's the budding of our romance:

They take Fifi by surprise and she jumps into Pedro's arms.

I think that was supposed to be the moment when the spark of love was lit. Here's further "proof" when Fidel notes about Pedro,

He gets all nervous and red-faced when she's around.

All right. Love by fiat! I said I'd take this little romp for what it is and I agree with you, Sara: (Ok. Pedro is an ass. Fifi is a metiche, but these two have great interactions together.)

Worse moment of the party: Roxana's "dancing" and Sonia's "singing".

Best moment of the night: Eloisa telling that foul tempered/mouthed impudent Roxana to leave the house! Yes! Hope she does go! Joaquina (the maid whom we suspect is her mother) will probably intervene and beg Eloisa to let her stay!

Fabio's proposition is no surprise but will the innocent and naive Fifi's rejection sink the partnership with The Italians yet again?

Grazie, Sara!

Rockin' it Sara. Such great quips and I couldn't agree more with your " *waggles eybrows* hubba hubba" on Francisco. Something about him, whatever type character he plays, just makes me happy.

And I'll go there, Fabio is sort of skeevy, but pretty easy on the eyes and deliciously suave and skeevy. He will be fun to watch. I could picture Lisardo in that role, but I like our chosen actor seems to have more of a twinkle in his eye as he's being a pain.

Ice chips are melting off Pedro, but he has a LONG way to go. And Eloisa may supposedly be his loving Grammie, but she's starting to bug the living daylights out of me. I know she has vultures around, but maybe she could tone it down a few pegs in her matriarch attitude too.

Beanie adjusting on Gianna last night. One minute looking like she was trying out for the latest chapter of Night of the Living Dead and the next, cat fighting and bouncing around on the bed. Okay then.

No No NO with the Benito being all "in love" and wanting to marry Fifi. Is that a ploy or is he really meaning that? Crap...is this a triangle in the making cause not feeling it.

After about 10 seconds I switched off out warbling songbird. As the mother of a voice major, and spending more years than I can say listening to singers and performances, that one did not hit the mark with me. What did you think Kat?

Daisynjay

Amen, Daisy, about this so-called love Benito is supposed to have for Fifi! That's a darned lie! He plotted to keep the girls from Vitto from jump street! Are they really trying to sell this as a triangle? Por favor! I mean, Per favore! Not liking or trusting Benito at all and not as pissed at Fifi as yesterday but still on Pedro's side. Agree that Granny could tone down her constant spitting and hissing at her "family" -- that aspect is way averplayed but I can see how Pedro is so joy- and everything else positive-less if this is who raised him. Criminy!

Ditto. What gives, Benito? That he luurves Fifi seems a little weird.

Sara, thank you! I swear, I was watching, but apparently some things escaped my notice, most, er, noticeably "Benito confesses it's because he loves Fifi and wants to marry her." Whaaaaaaaaaa?! I must have blocked that out on purpose.

"Everyone should stay and Rancho Los Ángeles and sing Kumbaya and care for each other and get along." Oh, grandpa Maximo...you've met these people, right?

"I think the opening credits are totally false advertising. I wanted to see Fifi toss mop water on Pedro." Dude, *I* want to throw mop water on Pedro...except once again, I'm all confused because "his" birthday party got turned into a booze-and-schmooze for the Italian investors? A guy can't even have his own birthday party? But then...all the manipulatey "Hey, grandma, I brought your favorite flowers, please let me keep running the company, oh hell yeah we're going to respect grandpa's last wishes," left me feeling like he's just as much a vulture as the rest of them. So...I don't know what to think, but as long as the Long Island Iced Teas keep flowing at the Sympathy for Pedro table under the Still No Excuse, Dude umbrella, I won't care!

"Fabio the Italian yells about the prices they keep changing." Damnit, Osvaldo, stay out of it! And is his name really Fabio, because...priceless!

"Fifi raids the mini fridge and says the stuff is free. Tune in tomorrow when Pedro gets the bill." was also one of my favorites.

David, "Ah, we got to hear Sonia sing. . . . . .(gulp). I hope 5ft had an adequate amount of adult beverage available for that. The polite desultory applause was funny." What the hell made me even bring up this possibility? I should have known better than to invoke the wrath of the TN gods!

Lila, "I had a moment of terror as I thought the gondoliers were mimes!" AAAAAAAAAAAH! Flashbacks!

Daisynjay, "What did you think Kat?" I wasn't sure whether to be more outraged at the "singing" or the "dancing."

Sara, it was impossible to pick favorite lines but in addition to what J in Oregon noted, loved "Benito lays a wet one on Fiorella and gets a slap for his trouble", "Federica (Ha! Fedora-ica)", "Fifi and Gianna enjoy the (hopefully) complementary breakfast buffet" and "7 degrees of "La Gata."

You hit it out of the park amiga.

"Eloisa says it will be loads of fun living with a bunch of buitres (vultures) waiting for her to drop dead:. Have to say I love Eloisa's spirit and the fact she knows what's what. She is immune to fawning and while she has an obvious intolerance for those who try to poach what is not theirs, she dispenses her disdain only on those who deserve it.

"Aníbal (played by Francisco Gattorno *waggles eybrows* hubba hubba)" - totally agree.

Fiorella is not the least bit interested in Benito. I think he is on a one way street. There is zero chemistry so I hope Benito wakes up and smells the coffee. And quikly,

Although this has its dark moments, I am curious each night to see what happens next.

Thanks Sara!

Diana

Sara - Thank you for the recap! I've watched 1/3 of the way through and hope to catch the rest later today.

I get the feeling this telenovela is supposed to be a sort of madcap comedy, like the movies from the late 1940s. I haven't seen enough episodes to really work that out yet.

OMG … THAT seedy looking hombrezuelo husband of Julieta’s was Gattorno? I need to go back and look again.

‘Sergio’ could be a Martin Short stand-in.

Is it my imagination or does Eloisa have a slight Italian accent? This is only the third episode I’ve had a chance to watch so I’m trying to sort out all the characters.

”I think the opening credits are totally false advertising. I wanted to see Fifi toss mop water on Pedro.” LOL!!!

Ciao, y'all.

Hey..as to Nito and Fabio..instant love at first sight. Happens all the time? Am I right? You're living with compkere strangers. their son stops by and..bada Bing..love happens. Yeah..no.

That dynamic duo has a lot of time on their hands. may I suggest some singing and dancing lessons.

Thank you Diana and Doris!

I had to look twice to figure out it was Gattorno, too! He is a cutie!

doris, to me, when Gattorno plays a villain, (early Amores Verdaderos, here and others), he is not QUITE as handsome as he is playing a galan.

When he gives a genuine smile, he is irresistible.

susanlynn, I've laughed at all your comments today.

"Ice chips are melting off Pedro" was excellent daisy.

tofie, can't wait until you "see" everyone - look forward to more great lists.

I enjoy each and every comment posted although it's hard to note each one.

Diana

Sara, loved your recap and especially the drinking games, “Gigi comes in all fainty (DRINK!) and says she doesn't feel well.” The only problem is that just as we put our drink to our mouths, Gigi starts sprinting around like Usain Bolt. What an erratic heart ailment! She’s ashen one moment and then giving Fidel a run for his money around the ranch the next. Wouldn’t it have been better to say that Rancho Los Angeles is near a Mayo Clinic type hospital where she could get specialized treatment, rather than a place with “fresh air?” Oh dear, triple beanie time. Thanks again Sara, we so appreciate all the hard work, time and dependability it takes to do these recaps.

Did anyone else think that ole Pedro was spiking the ball a bit after his well chosen flowers hit the mark with his abuela? Actually, I would even say he was dancing in the end zone. Didn’t think that was very attractive of our galan!

Despite that, I do feel a bit better about Pedro, but now Fifi annoys me. What a lack of sympathy this girl has, interrupting a private party, imposing herself on Pedro, and then....... getting into a tub with her shoes on.....that really ANNOYED me. I think there is a lightness to this novela, no murders yet, and they don’t seem to be prepping us for something really bad, maybe this is just what the doctor ordered after La Sombra.

Doris, I have been thinking that Sergio looks like Martin Short as well!

Diana...I am always happy if I can share a laugh with someone!

I hope that we get to see some real dancing...from Gattorno. Remember his great dance with Susana G. In AV.

So the bees are gathering around queen bee Fi ...Nito, Vito, smarmy Fabio, and eventually Pedro..reluctantly.

Sara, salsa dancing (or any dance) from Gattorno would be divine. It was really enjoyable watching he and Susana dance.

I guess it would be too much to ask that he might do so with his lovely wife? Doesn't appear he wants to give her the time of day, let alone spin her around the floor. What a fool.

Diana

susanlynn, the above was meant for you!!!

Diana

Sandy in TN- Some poor maid is going to have to scrub that tub. I'm with you on the BOTH of them stepping with their shoes on. Had to laugh at "erratic heart ailment" and "Usain Bolt." It is pretty funny how she's fainty and weak one moment and the picture of health the next.

Just got to the Martin Short/Sergio connection. Don't know how I missed that before. Too true!

Every time I see "Benito", I keep thinking of "Roy" in Amores Verdaderos. Hopefully, I will forget that, *and* Benito will be a nicer guy.

I can't separate the two either.

Doris, ITA with Roy. The novela masters really do a fairly good job of changing up the looks of characters, but in this case, Benito looks and acts EXACTLY like Roy, even to the hair cut. I don't think I'm sophisticated enough to remove the Roy character from the Benito one!

On the tub, yes Sarah, "Some poor maid is going to have to scrub that tub." and resurface the porcelain, they had on hard soled shoes making scratches....Of course, in my house that poor maid would be ME!

Francisco Gattorno played a wonderful character in Mi Pecado, still remember his Rodolfo.

Sandy, yes, Gattorno was wonderful in Mi Pecado. Daniella Castro stole the show but Maite was great too as was Sabine Moussier.

What a cast.

doris, yeah, Benito does resemble Roy Boy Toy...:)

Diana

I'm standing on the patio table shoutin as hard as I can to whatever TN powers that be there are to give us a Mr. Smooth Move Gattarno dancing across the floor. He could dance with Fidel and it would be divine. Lord that man is a pleasure to watch move to the music.
Thank Kat... figure your discerning ear could tell me if that singing got better and I was being harsh. Hope we don't have to deal with that "treat" again.
And please writers...don't have us think that the magic clean air at Los A will suddenly cure Gigi. There's fairy tales and then there is stupid writing.

Daisynjay

Diana, I agree, "Gattorno was wonderful in Mi Pecado. Daniella Castro stole the show but Maite was great too as was Sabine Moussier." Eugenio Siller was good too, I'll never forget how Julian left ???? pueblo in his ratty truck, worked his fingers to the bone then returned home months later driving that new white (how symbolic) slightly tricked out truck. That was a joyous novela moment, the good, hardworking guy winning at life. Whatever joyous moments we had in Mi Pecado, we deserved, tough novela....

Here's how I'm making peace with the "clean air therapy". Despite the story being "modern" it still has a very old-timey feel to it. There was a time when people would escape to different climates for "health reasons". But it probably would have been better that Fifi and Gigi were from say...NORTHERN Italy; not warm, sunny southern Italy.

Um. So yeah...stupid writing.

Sara, actually the "clean air therapy" would work perfectly with an asthma diagnosis, plus asthma has acute phases interspersed with normal lung function. If they had just asked us, we could have helped with a more plausible illness. I began wondering about the heart condition diagnosis as Gigi happily climbed up and down those Italian village stone steps at the beginning of the novela.

This heart thang jes don't make no sense!!
