Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse #7 Wed 9/2/15 Pedro is terribly unlikable

Good morning patio peeps, here goes your recap! It's gonna have to be quick because I'm short on time!

I'm going to skip the old and get to the new, but let me just add that if  anyone called my significant other "incompetent and mediocre", well, let's just say someone would be in need of some serious medical care.

Fifi gets bad news:

The doctor at the hospital has informed her that Gigi must get proper medical care, she needs to continue with her treatment and she needs to live some where calm, with fresh air- if Fifi does not take decisive action Gigi will die! Fifi has no money to take Gigi anywhere but the doctor tells her she must act!

Vittorio has ants in his pants:

And can't wait for the private detective to come back with more information so he tells Benito that they will be going to search for Fifi themselves, and off they go! The two end up in a really shady part of town, Benito tells Vittorio that it's not really safe for them to be there, but does Vittorio listen? Noooooooooooo. They arrive at the address given by the cab driver and soon find themselves the victims of a robbery, they even took Benito's clothes! The two make their way back to their car which is now missing the tires, they see a mean looking group of "vatos" and instead of risking more humiliation or injury they call a cab and get the heck back to the restaurant.

Once they are back in the safety of the restaurant Vittorio refuses to pay Benito back for the items that were stolen from him (booo), Vitto still won't give up on finding Fifi because he does not forgive anyone who makes a fool out of him and he wants his money back! Benito tells him Fifi probably already spent all the money and Vitto is loaded so it's not like he needs it, but Vitto makes it clear: He is not giving up on finding Fifi!

Lies,lies,lies:

Fifi and Gigi come back home from their trip to the hospital, Benito's parents want to know what the doctor told her and Fifi lies, she says the doctor said Gigi would be fine!

He can't keep it in his pants and everyone knows:

We are introduced to Julieta and Anibal, Julieta is an old family friend of the family and seems to be one of the only people that Eloisa actually likes. She is there to stay and visit while her husband is away on business, quickly we learn that her husband is a hoe and that everyone knows that when he goes on business trips it really means he's having an affair. *side note: Maribel Guardia, aka Julieta is still drop dead gorgeous!* Anibal says his goodbyes and Julieta and Eloisa gossip, Eloisa tells her that Pedro is MIA and that if he does not get home soon she won't be throwing him a birthday party.

Later, Sergio hits on Julieta and suggests they have an affair, Julieta says she's not that type of woman and that she loves her husband-even if he is a rat bastard, Sergio suggests that maybe she stays with Anibal because at her age she's scared of being alone.

Eloisa is tired of waiting on Pedro- she tells Dante to go and find out what the heck is going on with her favorite grandson.

Dante goes searching:

He arrives at the office as Pedro is getting ready to leave, Pedro tasks Fidel with distracting Dante and succedes, but later Dante tells Fidel not to treat him like an idiot, he knows exactly what Fidel did and the next time he pulls such a stunt things won't turn out well for him.

Dante reports to Eloisa that Pedro is a super busy bee at work, but Eloisa makes it clear: the will will be read that night and if Pedro is not there for the reading she will replace him with Osvaldo. Sonia and Sergio hear this and both run off to try and take advantage of the situation, Sergio frantically calls Pedro but he's not picking up the call and then his phone runs out of charge and he can't find his charger or his extra charger.

Sonia tries to distract him from his task, going so far as to come on to him, but that's more that Osvaldo can take and he stops her before things get out of hand.

Pedro tries to put out fires: (and the dude is hella paranoid!)

Pedro walks into Tania's aprtment and finds Fifi there- he wants to know why sh'es there and what she's doing, she tells him she was just cleaning up the mess and he tells her she has no right to be there. She says she has more of a right to be there than he does, because he treated poor Tania like dirt! Then it happens, he spots Tania's journal in her hands and he goes ballistic! He accuses her of trying to black mail him and tells her he will pay her for the journal. Fifi is totally confused by his accusations and says she's not looking to black mail him but he's not buying it, she's just as greedy as everyone else, so what's her price? Fifi says she wants to go to rancho Los Angeles for the health of her sick sister but Pedro thinks she's planned this all along! He has to go but tells her to meet him at a restaurant later to talk. This scene sealed it for me: Pedro is a jerk!

Fifi arrives at the restaurant and Benito goes out of his way to distract Vitto, first he claims there was a rat in the kitchen, then that there was a fire in another restaurant, meanwhile Fifi and Pedro talk.

He still thinks she's trying to black mail him but Fifi says that's not the case, she just wants a job, and her sister is sick and a place like rancho Los Angeles would do wonders for her health. Pedro offers to pay for the medical care but Fifi refuses, she tells him what Gigi needs is the peace and quiet of the country but Pedro thinks she just wants to live like a queen at the ranch, that's not so says Fifi, she just wants a job not handouts! Pedro says he can't take her there because grandmother Eloisa would not allow it, blah blah, blah.

Fidel interrupts the conversation and tells Pedro that they need to go, if he's not back home when the will id read grandmother will replace him with Osvaldo! Pedro says he has to go but he must think Fifi is stupid because he asks that she give him the journal and they will sort things out later, Fifi refuses and he threatens her (jerk, bad galan, bad!)

Fifi is left alone as Benito arrives, behind him is Vittorio so Benito plants a wet one on Fifi!

*In other news the provate detective is in the hospital seeking information on Fifi and Gigi, Gigi is actually in the hospital because she feels sick and faints! Grandma Eloisa is tired of waiting and requests that the will be read!*

Thank you, Princess Juju! Love that name! I'll be back later, the offspring just called but Pedro may not be real likeable, but in this episode Fifi has made me take his point of view. More later!

Woo hoo! Thank you! Missed the episode last night so once again you've saved my butt!

Thank you Princess.

You would think a concerned sister would spend her time looking for a job instead of poking around in in a dead womans apartment.

Hi, Princess! Nice to "meet" you. You did a wonderful job on this, and I'm glad that you will be along on the ride.

Sergio seems to be an equal opportunity propositioner, but no one ever seems to get miffed at him. I think at one point when he and Julieta were talking he reminded her of when they used to play doctor together and she laughed and said that had been wonderful.

Except for Fifi and Pedro's interaction together, last night was a light hearted episode, especially Benito being relieved of his clothes, and the car being up on cement blocks.

So Sonia realizes that Osvaldo is exactly what Pedro said he is.

Thanks again, Princess.

David

I know Gigi is sick and this is her and Fifi's truth. Pedro doesn't believe it. Fifi is an interloper who "entered" Tania's life yesterday. No matter what she heard between Pedro and Tania and no matter what she read in the diary, she does NOT know what happened between Pedro and Tania. This is Pedro's truth and Fifi doesn't believe it. Pedro finds Fifi in Tania's apartment with Tania's diary, Tania, whose death has not been definitively ruled a suicide, a woman who has been dogged by the media: her diary could be a valuable commodity in the hands of a scandal-loving press. I understand totally Pedro thinking Tania is a scam artist and opportunist. Why should he believe the story about her sick sister needing fresh country air? He offered to buy the diary. She should take the money, fly back to Italy, get the treatment and live in the fresh Italian air! She really pissed me off and made me see the whole situation through Pedro's eyes.

What is she going to do when she gets to Rancho and finds out it's not the tranquil place she thinks it is? What will Pedro owe her then? Will she size up the relationship between him and Granny and hold the diary over his head to manipulate family dynamics?

And Benito should have had his ass ripped off and handed to him! He KNOWS the girls were not there and yet he let Vito lead his stupid ass into a dangerous neighborhood where they could have both been killed! Vito doesn't owe him a damned thing, he's acting dishonestly and now dangerously! He is getting on my third nerve!

Go Sergio! Doing his best to help Pedro! Interesting dynamic with Julieta. Will the will finally get read? Prolly saving it as a cliff hanger for the weekend.

Thank you Princess Juju! I add my welcome--it was a wonderful recap and I am so glad you have joined the recappers roster!

Well, seems like every episode begins or ends with Gianna fainting on a couch somewhere. Hope I don't sound heartless, but it's losing its lustre as a plot device. On the upside, we found out that all those hours at the gym have paid off for Benito...and thankfully we were spared seeing Don Vittorio au naturel.
Sorry, Vitto, I won't be sitting at your Silver Fox table.
(Are there any tables set up on the patio yet?)

Must run...Big thanks again, PJJ!

J in Oregon

Not sure about tables, but definitely sure about drinks-VINO!

Gracias, Principessa ;) Thank you for covering this episode that had me wanting to send nearly every character to their room and tell them to stay there until they're ready to behave!

"Fifi has no money to take Gigi anywhere but the doctor tells her she must act!" This is an uncomfortable theme we keep coming to over and over. And Fiorella maybe quick on her feet when it comes to hatching blackmail plots (hey, let's call it what it is, and it's all for a good cause and to advance the plot) but she's floundering on the practical solutions and the doctors in Mexico are as unhelpful as the ones in Italy...do they really not even bother making service referrals? Frustrating!

"they even took Benito's clothes!" I don't know who they were hoping to appeal to with that, 'cause I'm pissed at Benito. I don't care how good he looks in his boxers.

"side note: Maribel Guardia, aka Julieta is still drop dead gorgeous!" Big time! Which made this "Sergio suggests that maybe she stays with Anibal because at her age she's scared of being alone." kind of funny because, seriously, Sergio? She sure as hell would not be alone!

"Eloisa tells her that Pedro is MIA and that if he does not get home soon she won't be throwing him a birthday party." Ooh, scary. I'm sure that would make any grown man quake in his boots. Don't forget to tell him you're cancelling the clown and the pony rides. That'll show him.

Fiorella and Pedro at the restaurant was one of the worst "everybody's talking and nobody's listening" scenes EVER and having Benito running around trying to keep Vittorio from seeing Fiorella made it even worse.

"Pedro offers to pay for the medical care but Fifi refuses, she tells him what Gigi needs is the peace and quiet of the country" Damnit, Fi! Take the money! There is no peace and quiet at that ranch! Did Tania leave that out of her diary? Right now I'd be perfectly happy if Fi and Pedro just never saw each other again.

Princess, thanks so much, you hit all the important conversations, it it weren’t for you, I’d be confused on the meaning of the dialogue in several places, thanks! I haven't "met" you before, happy to have you here with us.

Well our very angry galan is bumping his head up against the logic of our very illogical señorita. The sparks aren’t flying yet, but if they do, it will be the flash of steel hitting concrete.

I think there is a dart board on the patio so there must be a table or two and chairs! Yes VINO or VODKA, we need something stronger than mellontinis!

Ditto ALL comments today!

Thanks, PrincessJuju, for that excellent retelling.

Well, we all really that Pedro is a joyless asshat right now, our girl Fifi will someday turn him into a cheerful, loving galan who is high on life. In the meantime Nito seems smitten with his boss Vito's email ordered Bride.

Fifi bonded very quickly with her employer , the late tragic Tania.
Very odd. Now, Fifi is obsessed with getting Gigi to the rancho of the rest and the worthless.

Dad I sopy Dances with Sunglasses? Cutie. I hope we get to see him dance.

...uhoh..That was supposed to be"the restless and the worthless" ....and "did I spy?" Sorry

Ugh, ok, so what table am I at? I think I'm still at the Sympathy for Pedro table under the Umbrella of Still No Excuse, Dude. I mean, what could I say to this guy? Quit being paranoid? OK, sure, your crazycontrolling grandma has people following you around and spying on you...but chill? I'd even be tempted right now to tell him to let Osvaldo run the company and the family deserves exactly what it gets out of that...but would Eloisa really let that happen or is she just going to keep using the threat of it to keep him in line? Everybody keeps calling him her "favorite" grandson and my idea of "favorite" isn't "the one you spend the most time manipulating."

Word, tofie! Fiorella needs to do something practical and get her head out of the clouds!

Lila, "What is she going to do when she gets to Rancho and finds out it's not the tranquil place she thinks it is?" Good question. Scary question! "Will the will finally get read?" I'm starting to be just as impatient as any of the Vultures at this point! Read the damn will already, y ya!

Sara, I'll take a bottle of vino...but then what will everyone else drink?

Sandy in TN, "the flash of steel hitting concrete" very good description!

Susanlynn, is it weird that I knew what you meant? The Restless and the Worthless is right. What the heck do those people DO all day?

Fabulous recap, Princess! I'm thinking the recap is better than the episode. I hung on every word!

Susanlynn-I am giggling away at your comments.

Diva. I'm with you at Pedro's table, with the same attitude you have. Fifi drove me there!

Yes! Read the frickin' will!

Agree with you, J in O! Admit Gigi to the frickin' hospital already! She's been on the verge of dropping dead since this show began and she obviously needs more than fresh, frickin' air, she needs another heart or at least some kind of surgical intervention! Sheesh!

Princess Juju - Thank you for the recap!!! Well done, too! No time to watch this episode (my life will calm down soon.....I hope) so I really appreciate it.

So, I Googled the "Julieta" actress and looks like she has her own surgically added flotation devices. Usually this means a Bad Person, especially if the neckline is low and the hemline is high. It will be interesting to see . . .

Lila, my beanie may be permanently busted...if she needs fresh air so badly, why didn't they send her home with an oxygen tank? (I know I shouldn't ask these questions!)

I might have missed something along the way, is "the company" the restaurant? I know they have the beautiful Rancho, but is their cash flow just from one restaurant?

Maybe we'll learn more from the reading of the will!!!

doris, I'm laughing at your description...well, um...safety first? No clue what she'll be like here, but I've seen her as a "good" character once before.

Sandy, the restaurant is Vittorio's. The company...I have no clue. I saw some Herdez? canned goods in Pedro's office, so maybe we're supposed to think that's what "the company" is? Or maybe they just do something for Herdez?

surgically added flotation devices. Girl! Glad I wasn't drinking something! Keyboard would be drenched!

why didn't they send her home with an oxygen tank? OMG! Diva, you are SO right!

Thanks Diva. Sergio was using his father position to get some expensive wine (foiled by Vitto!) at the restaurant, so I thought that Pedro was important there.........I'm not sure what I thought!!!

Doris, I was thinking that Fifi had "flotation device"s too.....

Lila, nooooooo! I don't want to be right! I want the mindless fairy tale! Where's the romance?! I was promised romance!

Sandy, it seems like Vittorio considers Pedro an old friend...I'm still waiting to see evidence of this "friendship." Does Pedro hang out there a lot during his copious amounts of leisure time? *snort* Or maybe this is the place he's always brought his dates because Vito will set him up with a private room and keep the paparazzi away?

Thanks Diva, this is why I need Caray.....

Lol, Sandy, we try! Between all of us somebody's bound to understand what's going on.

Y'all, Pedro hasn't shown ANYbody any warmth whatsoever. He treats Vitto like a servant, probably this is right (sorry Diva) . .maybe this is the place he's always brought his dates because Vito will set him up with a private room and keep the paparazzi away?

Well, we came into this story at a high stress point. Fifi has been under her own stress and she has not helped Pedro any.

What say y'all she'll show up at Rancho tonight just in time for the will to be read!

How? How the heck do I know! Who thought Tania's drunken bonding with Fifi would lead her to think she had the right to use Pedro's Estate as a personal spa for Gigi!?

Thanks for the Recap. It was good. I just have one thing.I am not to keen on calling Fiorella and Gianna Fifi and Gigi. Those to me sound like dog names and are a bit insulting. Maybe Ella or her actual Fiorella. Every time i read the recaps i actually say the actual names in my head. Calling them Fifi and Gigi, sound a bit childish. Once again great recaps and all but just a thing to consider.

Call 'em what you wish hon! We respect each other, but characters (not actors) are fair game!

Ana, I'm preparing now to hold back all the French women who go by Fifi and Gigi and are feeling terribly insulted!

At any rate, the recappers have free reign to write as they please, so if Fifi and Gigi make life easier, so be it.

Lila, true, Pedro isn't warm with anyone and nobody's warm to him. Fidel comes closest, but even he seems to have ulterior motives.

Fidel has ulterior motives?

I suspect. I don't know yet. That conversation with Dante and the way he kept going on about not letting grandma/The Family find out about Tania. I'm not sure whose side he's on. His own? The Family's? Pedro's? Is he trying to balance all of the above? I don't feel like it's very clear, so I'm suspicious.

But just who IS Fidel? Seems like he is Pedro's valet/chauffeur, but also he owned the apartment where Tania lived. And, he has a feud with Dante, is that right?

J in O

Could Fidel just have been a prestanombre?

DIVA our comments crossed in the mail, but guess we all agree Fidel is an Hombre Misterioso.

J in O

I think Sara is right about Fidel owning the apartment in name only.

J, is there anybody connected to the Angeles family...ha, what a misnomer!...who doesn't have secrets? Maybe Roxana, but only because she leaves her cell phone lying around with no password.

Confession time: I had a dog, his name was Fifi and my new baby cousin is named Gigi! And I'm way too lazy to type out their full names!

Oh well. I asked for romance and got intrigue instead!

Well, Diva, take comfort that the first death we witnessed was an accident, and not murder!

Around here, Gigi is a popular name for one's grandmother, instead of "grandma" or "grandmother", etc.

Fifi .... I think of french poodles. LOL But it works for me here because Fiorella is too much to type out.

We could go with just Fi and Gi. :-)

Lila, when you put it that way, things are looking up!

Doris, that's right! Or GiGi for "Great Grandmother".

Thank you for the fine recap. Are you a new recapper? If so, you would never know it! A warm welcome...

"quickly we learn that her husband is a hoe" was hysterical.

“Sergio suggests that maybe she stays with Anibal because at her age she's scared of being alone”. Ummm, “because at her age”??? I think this proves perfectly exactly why he is alone. As you noted, Maribel Guardia is beautiful.

I love Gattorno and it looks like he is already up to no good, likely cheating on the lovely Julieta. And yes, it looks like she is the only family member (outside of Pedro).

Kat your "Ugh, ok, so what table am I at? I think I'm still at the Sympathy for Pedro table under the Umbrella of Still No Excuse, Dude" made me smile.

Diana

To finish my thought: And yes, it looks like she is the only family member (outside of Pedro)that Eloisa actually likes.

Diana

""quickly we learn that her husband is a hoe" was hysterical."
I agree! Shall we dub him an 'hombrezuela'?

Thank you all! To clarify Princess Juju=Eli! Doris, yaaasss, I can get behind that!

Well, make that "hombrezuelo". I often forget the gender/suffix thing.

(Lol, Eli, I didn't want to bust your secret identity!)

Yah. It was for thee to out thyself. Under whatever name, you sparkle, Eli! I like the new name. It IS mysterious!

Gracias Princess

We can be grateful that they stole Benito's clothes & not Vittorios.

That Fio could even get into Tania's apt is ridiculous, isn't it an investigation?

"We can be grateful that they stole Benito's clothes & not Vittorios."
Oh yes! I'm having flashbacks to that episode of Sex & the City where Samantha had a fling with a very much older man .... about Vittorio's age. LOL

ELI! what a hooot! So can I still call you PJJ?
:o)
