Yo No Creo en los Hombres #45 Lunes, 9/14/15
Detective work
is a hard grind sometimes. Especially when people mumble and it's
too hard to read lips. So here are just the facts, ladies and
gentlemen. Even if they're missing a detail or two.

Chapter 45:
All Talk and a Little Action
Alma
told Isela over the phone that she will never trust her again.
Ari
and Doris were at his place. He was getting jealous of Orlando
because Doris went to him first. She told him he was in no position
to talk in view of his backstreet affair with Maleny. He asked her
what kind of man she thought he was. After all, he had bought her
the bear. He was probably lucky she didn't answer him then, but he
got lucky that night.
Alma
shot back at Isela about Leo returning to work for Orlando. Isela
denied it. Alma pointed out that Leo's clothes were dirty when he
came home and Isela told her that he had helped Maria Dolores at the
fire. Ho-sefa was eavesdropping. No doubt she heard everything.
Jacinto
met Danny-Boy. His left hand was bandaged. He seemed to be afraid
he would be threatened over this again; Baldie Baldmero had already
done so. He tried to assure Danny-Boy that the tailor shop was
completely destroyed. Danny-Boy had been under the impression that
he was getting a pro. This ended unresolved. Neither was satisfied.
Maria
Dolores told Max that Baldie Baldomero had threatened her and her
mother with arson charges. Max told her that this wasn't possible.
Maria Dolores explained that she had been at home on the internet
when she heard the explosion. She had also smelled gas when she got
to the building. Max asked if they owned a gas tank. As soon as she
said no he said this was arson. He told her he would talk to some
experts on this crime and have it investigated. Esperanza came in
with food and drink. Max suggested taking them all out to dinner.
Julian
was talking to his parents. They wondered whether Ho-sefa was
involved.
Esperanza
made Max eat his chicken soup. He praised Esperanza's cooking.
Honoria and Julian arrived with food so they would have less to do
after the ordeal.
The
next morning Doris was putting on her makeup while Ari still slept.
He got up and was still coughing from inhaling the smoke the night
before. He tried to talk her out of going to work. She almost
bought it but paused.
Max
was lying in Maria Dolores' bed. Clara told her sister there was a
man at the door wanting to see their mother. He was threatening to
bring cops. Maria Dolores said she would take care of it. She told
Max to go back to bed. The man at the door told her to expect the
police soon.
Max
had to tell Leo over the phone not to tell their mother.
Jacinto
went to Duval's to meet with Ivana and her lawyers about refiling the
lawsuit against Maria Dolores. The slimeball demanded to know when
he could come back to work. Ivana said he won't. She was giving him
a payoff instead. He laughed at them and threatened to reveal all
their dirty secrets if they didn't hire him back. Danny-Boy and
Ivana left the conference room and went into the office. They argued
sotto voce. She told him she couldn't go back on her word to
Max. Not to mention losing the baby [that wasn't even hers].
Something had to be done. They went back into the conference room.
She told the company lawyer to do whatever it took to get Jacinto
back into the company.
The
lawyer said he would do it. He didn't look too happy about it.
Jacinto was about to leave but Ivana told him he would be at another
location. And if he so much as touched the hair of any female
employee she would really play hardball. So he gave Danny-Boy the
stink eye when he left.
Max
told Maria Dolores he would help replace everything she and her
mother lost. She told him they would be working at home. She didn't
want to take any money from him. They finally agreed she would if
she truly needed it.
Isela
told Claudio she lived near Orlando. Therefore she knew that Leo
didn't work for him. She also told him that Max was staying with
Maria Dolores. Maria Dolores should look for a new best friend.
Gerry
demanded that Ivana tell him why she was doing this. The whole point
of inviting Max to the Wedding From Hell was to hand him the document
stating she would not sue Maria Dolores. “Things have changed,”
she told him. “I couldn't say in front of all of them that it was
Danny-Boy who stole the dress.” Gerry blamed Mama Bear for this,
since she somehow forced Ivana to marry her cub. Ivana said she had
spoken to her the previous week and she still hadn't turned over the
mortgage documents so she could pay it off and ultimately throw them
out on the street. She was planning to investigate that. Gerry then
asked “How is it that you could be so behind the women of the
company and hire that dirtbag back?” Her pathetic answer was
“Because I didn't know what to do. If he does it again we'll take
more drastic measures.” Gerry was not assured.
Jenny
visited Julian in his office and brought him a large plant. He was a
little embarrassed. She told him she had the money to pay for it
since she didn't drink anymore. She finally told him that Maria
Dolores was not alone.
Maleny
called Ari because to ask why he had called in sick at work. She
caught him when he was trying to load the oversized stuffed bear into
the back seat of a cab. He told her about the fire. “Did it all
burn? Poor baby!” “No,” he said “Poor Maria Dolores.”
“No, poor you,” she said “I'll come over to see you.” He
answered, “Maleny, did it never occur to you that Max might be
around here?” He also told her he was helping Orlando move stuff.
She looked like she had lost her favorite toy.
Isela
lied to Maria Dolores that she hadn't told Claudio anything. She was
going to come over but Maria Dolores told her she was on her way to
Max's apartment to get him things he needed. She said she'd be there
after but Isela told her not to worry.
Maleny
went to the Bustamante mansion. The maid told her that Alma was in
the garden. Clara was there with her. She had left her purse on the
table. Maleny looked at it for a moment.
Alma
and Clara were talking about Leo, whom Alma wants to send away on a
long trip... to protect him from Maria Dolores. Clara defended her
sister. She couldn't say much because Maleny arrived. Clara then
took her leave. Maleny looked concerned, but Alma said she was
following her advice. Then Maleny grinned inexplicably.
Mama
Bear yelled at her other cub over the phone to go to Max's apartment
right away. Maria Dolores would be there picking up clothes. He
wanted the details but she told him it wasn't important at the
moment. The only important thing was for him to knock up Maria
Dolores. She was losing patience. “If I could do it, I'd make her
pregnant,” she said before cutting off the call.
Ari
went to Doris' place but she didn't want to see him. As she went
back she saw the absurd pink sign that said “I love you, Doris.”
And that was what it took.
A
young woman came looking for Maria Dolores. Ho-sefa pointed the way
to the Morales' apartment. The girl was a client asking about her
bridal gown. Ho-sefa laughed. The girl knocked on the door and
Ho-sefa told her to knock harder. She started saying that Maria
Dolores would be hiding. Max answered the door, telling the girl
that Maria Dolores wasn't in, but he'd take a message. She wrote a
note and handed it to him. After he went back inside Ho-sefa called
the girl back, snickering at what she might have interrupted. She
then went home and called Alma. She told her all about the fire and
accused Maria Dolores of setting it so that her rich “lover”
would purchase a better location for her. Didn't it make sense
because Maria Dolores didn't get even an eyelash singed? And of
course Max got burned. Alma was about to panic. Ho-sefa told her
not to worry because Max was alive. He's in the Morales living room
when he really should be in the hospital.
Esperanza
was at the bank seeing about a small business loan. She didn't have
a bill proving her address so she told the loan officer she would get
one and be right back. As soon as she left the office the bald man
who had walked past the glass door a moment before reappeared. He
followed her out.
Maleny
wanted to know about the phone call. Alma said that Isela hadn't
mentioned anything about that the previous night. “But she is the
best friend of Maria Dolores! She's covering up for her!”was her
reaction. Alma said “Ho-sefa said she couldn't tell me last night.
I ended the call when Claudio came up looking for me. What was I
going to say?” Maleny looked confused for a second. Then she said
“It's better not to complicate this.” Alma agreed. “Claudio
knows nothing about the agreement I made with Orlando.”
“Alma,
you're not alone in this,” Maleny said. “We'll solve this
together.” Alma went back upstairs. Maleny looked like she needed
a drink and a calculator.
The
bald man followed Esperanza. She paused, looked behind her, and he
stopped.
Clara
caught up with Leo. She told him she was afraid she wouldn't see him
anymore. That his father would send him off to Europe. Leo said
they couldn't make him do anything he didn't want to. He said he
would fight for their love. He held her closely.
The
bald man wass getting closer to Esperanza and she knew it. She
walked faster to get away. A man in a pink shirt seemed to be
walking toward her. She was finally caught between the bald man and
one in a tank undershirt. The bald one demanded her money. “Give
me your dough and nothing wil happen to you,” he said. “No, no,
please,” she begged. “I borrowed money for mu business. I'm
having a rough time. Don't...” The bald man pulled out a
switchblade.
Danny-Boy
was outside Max's apartment. The door opened and a maid came out,
startling him. She told him that Max hadn't been there in a couple
of days. She was waiting for his girlfriend, Maria Dolores, to pick
up a suitcase of clothes for him but she hadn't arrived yet. She
then said she would have to leave to clean another house.
The
bald man yanked Esperanza's purse and ran off with his two henchies.
She ran to the corner yelling for help. Nobody moved.
Maria
Dolores and Max were talking on their cells. She hadn't gone to his
place yet because she was afraid of running into his father. She was
at the rental place to see a man about some sewing machines. Max
said not to worry; he'd talk to his father. She asked him not to
because she didn't want any confrontations. He understood. They
declared their love.
That
always seems to be a bad omen.
The
bridal gown customer was sitting on the steps. Ho-sefa was behind
her, no doubt shoving more poison in her ear. Esperanza arrived in
the courtyard and the girl walked up to her. She said she needed her
dress because the wedding was over the weekend. Esperanza said
“Dress?” and fainted. The girl looked up at Ho-sefa, saying she
needed help. Ho-sefa did not move. She only nodded “Yes, yes”
and gave a no-hearted half shout for help. She laughed. She accused
Esperanza of faking it for sympathy. Max came out and went straight
to Esperanza.
Maria
Dolores and Doris met at the rental shop. She told Maria Dolores
that Ari was trying to get away from Maleny. Maria Dolores warned
her to be sure or she would be staring in the mirror and questioning
herself the same way she had.
Fermin
went for a job interview.
Max
brought Esperanza back inside. She refused to go to a doctor. She
was just upset over the girl's dress and decided to lie down. Max
answered the knock on the door. Alma and Maleny walked in without
being invited.
Isela
was with Claudio in his car. She suggested they get a bite to eat.
He had a different appetite to satisfy. They started getting hot and
heavy in the car. Orlando appeared at the side window.

I'm really peeved at the mumbling and the excess of sotto voce talk in this episode. I could have missed a few good zingers.

Urban- I tried to stay awake to watch this episode, but was too exhausted. Thank you so much for this recap. Things are really looking grim for MD and her family. I bet Dan is behind the guys who assaulted Espie. And now it looks like Dan will have the opportunity to rape MD, in Max's apartment no less!! Ugh! I just hate this. At least MD does have Max by her side, and it doesn't seem like he's going anywhere.
I hate that Isela, in order to meet her own agenda and cover her own a**, is throwing MD under the bus. And of course Josefa is there to drive the bus and back up over MD a few extra times for good measure.

Danny-Boy is no more in love with MD than Arrango is with Maleny. He's obsessed and he wants to control her. I am hoping that for once we will get a female protagonist who is too strong for that.
But wait; we did... in Amor Bravio. It seems to be Flavio Medina's fate to be typecast as these weasely creeps who lie their way into women's hearts to try to control them and fail miserably in the end. Even with mastermind Mothers From Hell backing them.
While Mama Bear seems to favor Danny-Boy she cannot be said to love him. I don't think she knows how. She married her husband for money and position and perhaps it was her Karma to have these two as children because of that. She certainly taught them their sense of entitlement so she has no one to blame but herself for their current attitudes. I'd love to know what her husband was like and what his fault is in this situation.

Victoria- Abuse and rape aren't the same thing, but in Spanish one of the main ways to say someone raped or attempted to rape someone is to use the verb abusar (violar is the most clear way to say it). It's usually clear by context that the person means rape, and the verb abusar is mainly used this way. Usually, when someone is saying someone else abused them, they say "maltratar" (mistreated) or golpear (beat/hit), but abusar can also be used.

Thank you UA. Great job. Some odd happenings in this. That scene with Esperanza being followed out of the bank and getting robbed was too weird. And why couldn't Ivana give Jacinto some other job that isn't near other people?
Of course Max has a buddy who has a gasoline sniffing dog. Who doesn't, lol.
I'm glad MD wasn't at Max's when Dan showed up. And how sick of Ursela to prompt Dan to go over there and get MD pregnant.

I hate rape stories and who is the baby daddy but I see we may have one uff. I really hope MD is not raped. I have been enjoying the recaps. And thanks Vivi thanks for the explanation of "abusar". I rely on context to know if it's a rape but I always wondered why not say "violar" to be clear.

First thing I worried when Orlando saw the necking was what will Claudio do to the guy. He's already been blamed for enough. He needs to get far, far away from Isela.
Thanks for the detailed recap. My online source doesn't have these episodes. Fingers crossed they come back. And that no one gets violada or abusada. Maybe they won't take the easy route as most novelas do. Besides, it's a really stupid plan. I'm a little disappointed in Ursula. She could do better.

Just the idea that Ursula is encouraging her son to impregnate MD is beyond sociopathic. Surely she knows that MD doesn't want to be anywhere near him.
They could hire a surrogate, but that would mean paying someone and not causing suffering. No fun for the Santibanez.

Not only is it beyond idiotic to try force sex on MD to impregnate her, it could take several tries before she is pregnant. Ursela told Ivana that MD was already pregnant, so if he doesn't do it on the first try, Ivana will know that Ursela lied about it. Yes, artificially inseminating another willing person will work way better.
