Antes muerta que Lichita #28 Thursday 10/29/15. "The Episode Where Everyone Fawns over Alejandro"

Alternative Title: The Episode where we count how many times Guapo and Alejandro are used in the same sentence.

Tonights episode is combination of Episode #31-#32 in Mexico.

Episode 31
Lichita reminds the patio of her recent ups and downs...the good and the bad, the humiliations and the uhhhh more humiliations by Roberto, Luciana and fellow co-workers. The sad montage ends with Lichita at her lowest when she happily accepts her award with tears. She is the most foolish and she vows that she will never forget them. Meanwhile the crowd has the nerve to look awkward.....ummm what else did you think would come of this.

Augusto is at the happiest (and not his fake crap he puts out to others) I have ever seen him. Alex went home first but no one was there. So while he was getting fresh air, he decided to come to Iconika.

Sandra is not pleased with the rumors going around that Roberto was promoted due to his relationship with Luciana. He's about to ask whether he was promoted due to his own merit but Fatima interrupts with the news of Mr. Hottie from NYC arrival. Sandra is none to please to have the entire family at Iconika. There is a mini family reunion in Don Augusto office. Since Mr. Hottie has pulled a disappearing act for many years (studying the arts...did not catch the specifics) they will have a celebratory family dinner tonight.

Instead of working, Luciana plays detective and scopes out Roberto's place. She bumps into Gumaro (she does not know it is him) and his disgusted at his advances. She knocks on their door enough to disturb a sleeping neighbor who tells her to quit it.  She asks for the 411 on Roberto and finds out that he does not have a kid living there and Gumaro is anything but sick.

Lichita calls Daphne. Saphne only spoke to her mom but did not tell her parents where she was. She goes on about her brother but Lichita must be planning something since she doesn't spill the beans that her brother finally returned.

In the meantime, Beatriz lets it spill that Daphne is missing when Alex asks for his sister. Alejandro had the reaction the parents should have had and freaks out. Against his father's wishes, he tells Fatima to call the cops. At this point, Lichita who happens to be there tries to push some book on Alex. He brushes it off , too engaged in getting in touch with the cops. He only opens the book due to Lichita's insistence that there is something on the first page. Indeed she leaves him a note saying that she knows where Daphne is and not to alert his parents.

Roberto catches Lichita in the hallway and uses some work pretext to get her to listen to him. His real agenda is to explain to her what happened. They take their fight to the bathroom and he does a bad job of explaining himself. He will explain everything in due time and there is a reason behind his lies. He wants her to wait just a little more. Lichita doesn't want to believe any more lies that come out of his mouth. Roberto switches tactics and tells Lichita everything he felt for her was real.....his says a lot of sweet nothings and Lichita is dangerously close to getting lost in them. She ultimately rejects him and his lies. She will do something, she does not know how yet, to get the position he has. Roberto and Lichita walk out of the bathroom within seconds of each other which sends Braulio and Brisa overactive imaginations to overdrive.

Mr. Reasonable and Mrs. Unreasonable are discussing their obsession (Mateo adoption - seriously do they have his own feelings in mind). The Mrs. finds the wildly spread photo of Luciana and Roberto. They now know he works at Iconika.

Lichita brings a surprise to the Guiterrez household....its Alejandro to Daphne delight. She reprimands him for never answering her phone calls or the mails she sent him. Alex eventually convinces her to come home. After they leave, Elsa brings up the fact that Alex is Mr. Hottie...if only Lichita did not have a thing going on with Roberto. Lichita breaks it to her mom that she and Roberto were never a thing, there is only work between them now...no she does not want to talk about it...yes she is tired of crying...all I care about is work so call me when dinner is ready ok! Adios.

I cannot tell whether Beatriz fakes happiness or is truly delighted to see Daphne. Daphne may have learned a thing or two from Magos and that is calling her mom by her first name. Daphne refers to her letters to her brother as she tries to explain how vile Luciana is....but he is totally clueless (wonder what that was about). Much later Augusto finally arrives and they have a very fake/forced family gathering. Alex is interested in learning more about the company. Luciana agrees to show him the ropes (oh dear..all he will learn is how to be superficial, mean and how to do anything but work). Everyone wants to know where Daphne disappeared to, and she praises the family before saying that it was Lichita house, one of the Iconika employees. She thinks it would be a great idea to invite the family over for dinner (that would be so fun..please make this happen).

The next day Alex shows up at Iconika and everyone is trying to grab his attention. Luciana wins with showing him around, being his cousin and all.

We end with Mr. and Mrs. Unreasonable showing up looking for Roberto. Once they get in his office they ask 21 questions about his life in a not so subtle manner. Roberto correctly believes they are lying...they are the family wanting to adopt Mateo.

Other points in Episode
- Roberto finds out that Luciana was snooping around their apartment.
- The mean front desk ladies fawn over their purses and Chuchette is not impressed saying that it was probably "Made in China".
- Don Augusto has a meeting with discussing who will take over his position. They are not comfortable with the fact that Don Augusto wants his son to take his place.

Episode #32: Luciana Continues Her Not So Funny Games and the Guiterrez Family is Put on Display

This will be heavily summarized.
  • Roberto kicks Mr. and Mrs. Unreasonable out of his office after a tense dispute over who will make better parents for Mateo. They take their argument outside where Mrs. continues to push Roberto's buttons about how he carries his personal life. Roberto can no longer control his emotions and takes it out on the hubby (Roberto also steals the wallet ---dude you are digging yourself into a hole). This only fuels Mrs. Unreasonable that his violent nature is probably why Mateo is in the orphanage. She swears that she will take Mateo away before her hubby drags her off. Augusto seems to have witness  this whole dispute, Roberto though is unsure of how much.
  • Augusto wants Alejandro to take over API. They need someone young, with fresh ideas was his pitch to board members. They finally accept to include Alex as a candidate.
  • Alex invites Lichita and her family over for dinner to Luciana's dismay. Luciana then invites Roberto over for dinner by telling him it will be good to get to know her aunt and uncle. She has a more sinister plan in mind though.
  • Don Augusto and Mr. Hottie (Alex) are having lunch. Dad kind of pokes fun at his son for studying literature.  Alex just wants to find a place where he can be useful in Iconika but he does not know where to start. Don Augusto tells his son he has bigger plans for him.
  • Lichita's family is excited about the dinner and rush off to find their best outfits for the occasion. Lichita and her father are happy that Luciana will not be attending the dinner (little do they know....). Lichita also finds out from Nacho that the insurance company will not reimburse him for the accident.
  • The Gutierrez arrives at the Mansion...Luciana does not wait two seconds before throwing not so subtle snide remarks at the family. It seems that dinner is in a car showroom/garage. Luciana suddenly remembers that she has invited some friends...oops! Roberto and later Nestor and Chuchette arrives to crash the growing dinner party. Nacho looks about ready to kill Roberto with a kitchen knife upon Roberto arrival (and announcement of his relationship with Luciana). The whole dinner is semi-awkward. The Guiterrez family are not used to the dinner etiquette and make mistakes with the dinner settings, escargot (dipping it in wine)....etc. Daphne and Alex find it amusing while Beatriz is slightly mortified.
  • The whole episode we get a lot of Braulio and Brisa getting to know each other more. Braulio is interested one of his favorite movie that he has seen a million times. Brisa offers to accompany him since she has a car. Her little pink set of wheels is like her second apartment. Braulio  looks as if he regrets the decision when her car fails to start. He wants to go back into Iconika to get his charger for GPS. Brisa insists that she knows directions well (which means she does not). They predictably get lost to Braulio's annoyance and arrive at the venue 40 minutes late. Braulio is no longer interested in watching the movie. Brisa tries to get him to relax and go with the flow and forgive her a little. He gives in...they talk their lives and why he is not in a more creative field over cake and coffee. We find out that Braulio is a slight Germaphobe. Brisa is and her hippie lifestyle extends to her and no one else in her family.
  • Mr. Reasonable is having doubts on what they are doing....but he cannot talk his wife out of her delusions. Mrs. Unreasonable believes they will win the case. He asks her if she has been taking her medications which she says she does. She makes a show out of taking it but spits it out when she leaves. She doesn't believe there is any reason to take it (hmmm I am gonna go on a limb and guess these are some type of psych medications).
  • Last scene: lots of praising of the food from Nestor. Magos thinks it is okay but no one cooks better than her mom. She encourages Beatriz to try the salads her mom sells at Iconika and Beatriz looks mortified enough for Elsa to ask if there is a problem.

Hopefully I am not deluding myself into thinking that Univision will stop chopping these episodes after this week. Lots of info in these two episodes and I tried my best to condense as much as possible. Please feel free to fill in what I did not mention.

Funniest scenes:
. The look on Sandra's face when Beatriz was expressing how handsome Alex has become and told him to do a little spin.
. Luciana's face when Beatriz told Alex and Daphne that Augusto will not make it due to work reasons.
. Nacho getting ready to use that butter knife on Roberto when he finds out he his the girlfriend of Luciana.

Hasta Mañana!

Thank you, CeCe, for filling in what we missed with the condensing of episodes. To be honest, I did not miss not seeing Braulio and Brisas getting to know each other.

Roberto actually expected Alicia to accept his half baked explanations with promises of the whole truth if she just waited a little longer? I was so glad she did not accept that garbage.

It was creepy when the Vidal's showed up at Icónika. Too bad Roberto had to lose it and put his hands on Ángel Vidal. At least now we know that Marta Vidal is not quite right which explains her being the driving force behind the adoption action.

Interesting: Luciana who, in my opinion, was just a little too much all over Alejandro.

I laughed at so much at the dinner:
The flying snail that ended up in Chuchette's décolleté./ Elsa telling Dafne "Mi casa es tuya." and then almost extending the same courtesy to everyone at the dinner but after looking at them all decides it is just better to direct it to Dafne again. Elsa knows who she is dealing with.

Another action filled episode and I enjoyed it.

Wouldn't it be great if things started going well for Alicia and only Roberto has to suffer? He deserves it. I want to see him hung up to dry. My next door neighbors are like Mr and Mrs Unreasonable, she is crazy and he is mortified. Great recap.

CeCe- Wow. Thanks for seeking out both episodes and sharing things we missed. I do have to admit that although annoying, whoever is doing this episode is doing a better job of keeping things coherent than in other chop jobs from Uni I've seen.

The show should be called Everyone Loves Alex. Alicia needs that kind of mojo to rub off on her. Her plan to ally with (seduce?) him might not be far off base. So now we know that random office we saw Don A in last episode was API (the association of publicists). I thought it was his other shady biz, but this is a legit association. Why does he want Alex to be president of the association, and what did he have Luci sign the other day?

The dinner was fun, even in the uncomfortable moments. It's clear the Gutierrez are the only winners in that room with their warmth and love. They know it, and so do Dafne and Alex, and Rob.

Well now we know at least half of that nice young couple is unstable. This will not end well. Even though Rob losing his temper like that was smart, I enjoyed seeing him show some real passion for once. And it was appropriate, as Mateo is the one thing he really wants most in the world, and these folks are threatening that. I'd like to see him let some of that anger lose at Luci too.

Missing word: losing his temper was NOT smart...

I'm sad they are depriving us of half the show! Wonder why they're doing it.

Jane: Was this two episodes in one again?

Thanks for the great recap!

I like Alex's face as he tried to make out all of the stuff that was going on around the table. He could tell that there was a lot under the surface.

Loved that Dafne kept going on about how great a family the Gutierrez are. I thought it made Chuchette and Nestor uncomfortable. Real people with hearts probably does that to them. They should be ashamed of themselves. I couldn't believe Nestor was going to talk about the game they pulled on Alicia in front of her family. Glad Rob threw food at him.

Luciana needs an anvil the size of a mountain!

Rob should tell Venus that the couple have ambushed him at his home and office lying about why they are there.

Jarifa: Lichita looked so close to falling again for Roberto excuses but I was so glad she snapped out of it. She has such perseverance and strength at times. If Lichita showed 1/2 the attitude that Magos did to Nestor and Chuchette when she was helping her mom I would be so happy.

Jane: ITA! I want others to recognize how vital of an employee she is at Iconika and others to be somewhat scared of her. The day that Nestor sucks up to Lichita...

Vivi: I am glad that Univision is doing a better job than normal with there cut and paste approach. I also thought API was the shady business that he was getting Luciana involved with. I am actually not clear of his plans and why he even wants to leave his current position as president.

Carvivlie: Yes this was two episodes. I am so glad that Alex is perceptive. He definitely noticed something going on between Lichita and Roberto. ITA with Roberto telling Venus. The Vidals need a little scolding from her as well as Roberto.

Does anyone watch the Mexican version? Can they fill us in with what was cut without giving away any future spoilers? I really like this show and don't want to miss anything!

Carvivlie: I have been watching the Mexican version online and base my recaps off of those (don't have a TV). As Vivi stated...it appears they are not doing a bad job cutting as with other shows.

Thank you so much for bring us two CeCe and so well done!

"Meanwhile the crowd has the nerve to look awkward....."

That butthole Roberto and to drag her into the men's room. I'm happy, happy, Alicia set her sights on his job and told him she's coming!

I also hate they had to make Mrs. Unreasonable crazy so I would maintain a little sympathy for Roberto's custody plight.

Wonder if Augusto saw Roberto steal the wallet?

Thanks, Cece. Great recap. You are a doll for filling in what got snipped across two episodes. Meanwhile the crowd has the nerve to look awkward.... was my favorite line too.

Ordinarily I’d say that Magos was rude to tell Beatriz that her mom’s cooking is way better than what they we’re being served in the mansion, but Beatriz was so condescending I say “cheers!” to Magos. Nice to see her brag about her mom.

If I’m remembering correctly, Mr. and Mrs. Unreasonable had a child that died. But I’m not sure if Venus is aware of that.

Thank you CeCe---A great episode last night along with a great recap today.

I enjoyed the tense dinner last night. All but Margos winter beanie that is. Wear a beanie to dinner?

So the lady that wants to adopt Mateo is unstable. Wonder where this will lead?

Roberto says trust me???

So much potential building.

must see tv
the gringo

Thanks Cece! I hope the cutting doesn't continue

I'm hoping that the newspaper cover with Luci and Rob backfires on Luci and that her old man fiance finds her and accuses her of theft!

Niecie in MD: I am intrigued to know more about the Vidals backstory. What happened ot their child and is that the reason the wife is on meds.

Gringo: I expect that attire from Magos. Also I agree with you...at this point Roberto and trust do not belong in the same sentence. Lies roll of his tongue way to easily.

Carvivlie: I was wondering the same thing. Why does she want to be the new socialite in Mexico when they are people looking for her and that huge ring. Although we all know that Luciana is not too bright so....

It didn't even register with Luci until she spoke to her mother that she might be in trouble for keeping that heirloom ring, even though she had jilted the count and run off to Mexico. No, she's not too bright. Devious, yes. Smart, no.
