Lo Imperdonable #109 Fri 10/16/15 RIP Veronica Prado Castelo

Marty, Magda, and Botel are informed that Veronica has been involved in an auto accident where her minivan exploded. Magda cries and rushes to Botel's arms for comfort. Marty looks on stunned not being able to believe the news. They are told that to further traumatize themselves they can get more information at the scene of the accident.

We take a detour to Pueblo Nuevo, where we find Manny getting his drunk on and recalling his recent rendezvous with Virginia. Oh snap. Manny wants Virginia to be his woman.

Still in Pueblo Nuevo, we are now taken to Raymunda and Joaquin's new home where we find the two of them cuddling up in bed and talking about Blanquita. They both hope that Arturo will keep his word. Joaquin trusts Blanquita and considers her to be responsible. Raymunda says that Blanquita is young and at the age of making mistakes. Joaquin points out that you can make mistakes at any age. And OG is a good example, because had OG been more firm with Manny, then things would be so different now. Say what? Wasn't he just saying that Manny is how he is because he was born with a rotten soul? Continuity, continuity, continuity. Raymunda says that she had always believed in Manny and can now see that he took out his claws when he had the chance to attack his own family. Joaquin tells her that the baddest ambitions can destroy entire families.

And speaking about bad ambitions destroying entire families, we are now taken over to the PC mansion, where Virginia returns home after missing curfew and gets the third degree from Jorge. Where has she been? What's up with the mud on her boots? And where exactly did she go? She replies that she went out for a walk and must have stepped on wet dirt without realizing it. She then gets sweet with him to weasel herself out of giving a clear answer and it works because he changes the subject asking her if she knows where her mother could be. Obviously, Virginia hasn't gotten the "Salma has left" memo because she replies that Salma must be at a friends house or a club. Jorge now realizes that Virginia doesn't even know that Salma left accompanied by Nicolas. Virginia is impactada.

Marty, Magda, and Botel arrive at the scene of the accident where they are informed that Veronica has died and that her body has been taken to the morgue. Magda faints into Botel's arms. While Marty cries and frantically starts to ask where his wife is.

Virginia now goes off on Salma calling her a mosquita muerta and shameless. She says that everyday she is more ashamed to be her daughter and that she is glad that Salma left because no one there loved her anymore. Jorge reminds Virginia that Salma is her mother. Virginia says that Salma is a mother that she's ashamed of and that she despises. She leaves. Emi now enters having checked out the clauses on the contact Rebeca gave them and well the clauses seemed fair. Jorge had told Emi that Rebeca's family is honorable and hardworking. Changing the subject, Jorge asks Emi if he has heard any news about Veronica. Emi hasn't heard anything and assumes that Veronica returned home and they just forgot to let them know. Jorge asks Emi to call them because Jorge doesn't have hands of his own to call them himself but Emi thinks it's too late. Emi says they should go to sleep because they have a lot of work tomorrow. Jorge agrees.

In a rather awkward moment, Pablo, Julio, and Lucia have sat down for some din din. Pablo and Julio are seated facing each other while Lucia is in between the two. Lucia, who obviously doesn't know that Julio only a few hours before was choking her son, thanks Julio for joining the Ana Perla search party. Pablo doesn't know how to thank Julio for his help. He has always thought that Julio is a good guy and noble. And yeah it's true that they've had their differences ... "because you have made the woman that I love suffer" Julio says interrupting him and getting confrontational. Pablo now gets confrontational himself and says that maybe he can return the favor by helping Julio realize that he's obsessed with Ana Perla. Touche Pablo. Touche. Julio tells Pablo that he doesn't need for Ana Perla to love him because what he feels for her is a love that is pure. What Julio wants is to have Ana Perla near him to make her happy. Welll, Pablo says that he will make Ana Perla happy. Lucia tries to break this up and get the two to shut up and eat. But Julio keeps on talking and telling Pablo that until he is sure [that Ana Perla is happy I guess] he will continue to insist with her and get her to love him. Julio tells Pablo that if he sees Ana Perla shed another tear then Pablo will have to forget about her because he is capable of anything.

Ana Perla has a dream where Pablo asks her for forgiveness. She eventually gives in and the two kiss. But the dream doesn't end there as Uni made us believe. Thanks to the powers of the internet I was able to dig up how the dream really ends. It ends with Pablo and Ana Perla making love. Ana Perla now wakes up with tears in her eyes.

Virginia says that it's better that Salma left. Now she has to win Jorge and Emi back.

Marty, Botel, and Magda are now at the morgue. Magda cries. Marty cries. Marty thinks there must be some mistake and asks to see the body. But the doctor tells them that the body was completely burned and that it is better for them to remember Veronica as she was before. The doctor gives them Veronica's belongings that include her purse, her identifications, and her necklace. Botel consoles Magda. While Marty cries not being able to accept that Veronica has really died.

Pablo thinks that the love Julio feels for Ana Perla is a platonic one. A love that will never become a reality. Harsh words Pablo. But it is the truth. Julio begs to differ and says that it's a love that makes his heart explode like the explosives of the mines. That's why Julio can't forget Ana Perla and hopes that they find her soon enough. He also hopes that she is not suffering. There is a knock on the door and Lucia rushes to open it hoping that it's Ana Perla. But it's not Ana Perla ... it's Mariana. Mariana noticing Julio's presence rushes over to Pablo to hug him from behind. She tells him that she could not leave him alone after how she saw him. She tells him that she is there for what he needs and then tells him that she loves him.

Chelas and Aaron get a surprise visitor in the middle of night. It's someone named Gato who has come to sell Chelas a cellphone. Chelas thinks Gato stole it but Gato explains that he found it. Chelas buys the cellphone from him and asks Gato to think about working for him. Chelas could teach him a lot like how to rob a bank. Chelas says that Gato has a lot to learn from him.

Mariana tells Pablo that Rezzina got him a residency in one of the best art schools in New York.

Marty is asked to sign a document IDing the body so the Doctor can get the death certificate ready. He recommends they go home and get things prepared so they can have the body moved where they want. Magda cries and Botel consoles her. Marty has his head down and he cries.

Pablo thanks Mariana. He accepts as long as Ana Perla shows up and Rezzina gets her a visa so she can come along with him. Mariana is not happy to hear that and tells him that it's impossible. She then starts talking bad about Ana Perla. Julio is fuming now and shuts Mariana up defending Ana Perla. Pablo and Lucia now come to Ana Perla's defense. Julio says that if there is anyone they should despise it is Mariana herself because she's throwing herself at Pablo and getting in between a two people that love each other with no respect. Mariana lifts up her arm to slap Julio but he doesn't let her.

Virginia now gets into bed and recalls the accident. She says that things did not turn out like they wanted but hey what happened wasn't that bad.

Chelas is able to unlock the cellphone. When Chelas says that the cellphone belongs to someone named Veronica it catches Aaron's interest. Aaron takes the cellphone from him and as he looks for a photo of Veronica he comes upon the video where Virginia confesses to Mati's murder. Aaron realizes that he knows the people in the video. He now realizes why they had Veronica kidnapped. They couldn't let Veronica press charges against the woman in the video. He says that he will find out who that woman is.

Julio and Mariana argue. Pablo shuts Mariana up and kicks her out. Mariana whines that he is kicking her out after all she did for him. Lucia asks to speak to Mariana alone.

Outside, Pablo and Julio talk. Julio basically tells Pablo that if Ana Perla doesn't want to get back together with him then Julio won't back off. Pablo tells him not to get his hopes up because when he explains it all to her she will get back together with him.

Lucia tries to knock some sense into Mariana by asking her until when will she continue begging for a love that has been denied to her. Lucia points out that what Mariana feels is not love but stubbornness. Mariana tells her that she is mistaken. Lucia understands that Mariana's pride was hurt and that's why she's clinging to Pablo but she never knew how to win Pablo's love. Mariana says that she did everything for Pablo. Lucia asks her if she's referring to ruining Pablo's life because that's all she has done. Lucia blames her for being the cause of Pablo and Ana Perla's new separation. Mariana asks Lucia if she expects for her to give up and let someone else have him. Lucia says that she expects for Mariana to have some dignity and quit doing stupid things that only make her look bad. Lucia says that Mariana is crawling on the floor for a man that does not love her and that is about to become a father. Lucia tries to make her understand that Pablo and Ana Perla are married under God's word. And that Mariana can't separate what God has united. Lucia asks Mariana to accept that she has lost Pablo. Welll, Mariana condemns her soul with what she says next, because she says that it's yet to be seen that she can't separate them. She also says that she'll show them all that she is not a loser. She tells Lucia that she will get Pablo's love if it's the last thing she does. And if that is going against God then she doesn't care. Mariana now takes her leave.

It's morning and Chucho visits Jorge, Emi, and Virginia in their rooms and tells them that Marty called and needed to talk to them all about something important. Virginia knowing what it's about can't wait to see the look on everyone's face. She can't miss this!

Marty calls Pablo and tells him about the meeting at the PC mansion.

Emi, Jorge, and Virgina meet in the living room. Pablo and Lucia arrive. Marty, Magda, and Botel arrive too and the three of them are wearing black. Marty tells them that Veronica has died. Reactions all around. Jorge asks what happened. Marty explains what happened. Virginia cries her crocodile tears. Emi cries and blames Marty for what happened. If Marty hadn't shown up in their lives then none of this would have happened. Since Marty showed up in Veronica's life only bad things have happened to her. Pablo calms Emi down. Marty leaves the room. Jorge cries and Virginia consoles him telling him that he still has her. Jorge asks what he will do without Veronica and Virginia says that she'll fill that void. Virginia says that she now realizes that she was mistaken and should have gotten along better with Veronica to make Jorge happy.

Chelas runs into Arturo. And yes Arturo does have a shady past. Turns out that Chelas took advantage of Arturo when he was young and hungry. And now Arturo won't let Chelas harm any more children and teenagers. Arturo says that the children and teenagers need to know that there is a better path than that of delinquency. But Arturo was a part of that delinquent path himself because he let himself be tricked and has paid for his mistakes. Blanquita now shows up and asks him what mistakes he is talking about. Chelas sees Blanquita and approaches her in a creepy way but Arturo comes to her defense.

Magda joins Marty. They both cry.

Blanquita asks Arturo who Chelas was. Arturo says that Chelas is a bad person and he'll take care of her even with his life. Blanquita again wants to know who Chelas is and what mistakes Arturo was talking about.  Arturo says again that Chelas is a bad person and that he does not want to talk about it. It's all in the past and he was so young. Blanquita doesn't understand. Arturo had said that he was an open book and she doesn't want him hiding things from her. He tells her that there are things that are best left in the past. He doesn't want her to keep on asking him. And tells her that whatever it is that he did made him strong and he learned his lesson. He changes the subject and they decide to take Ana Perla her breakfast.

Jorge sits in his room. He recalls when Veronica didn't want to forgive him. He cries.

Emi cries. He recalls when Veronica told him that she valued what he had done for her but that her heart took her to Marty and that she knows that Emi's heart takes him to her but she can't correspond him and that he is mistaken to think that she played with him.

Virginia has picked out her outfit for the funeral. Turns out it's an outfit she wanted to use for a special occasion and what better occasion than celebrating Veronica's death.

Pablo tells Marty that the casket has arrived. Marty cries and can't bring himself to go and receive it. Pablo consoles him and then goes to receive the casket.

Rebeca finds out that Veronica has died.

The casket is wheeled into the middle of the living room. Magda cries on the casket. Marty is sitting down as he stares at the casket and can't seem to accept what is going on. Jorge and Emi approach the casket. Tears all around.

Thank you so much, Mauricio, for another fabulous recap...for what was not an easy episode to be sure.

So many great lines to comment on, but I need to make this short...a busy day ahead.

It does amaze me that as smart as Virginia is that she does not suspect, at least as of yet, that perhaps Verónica is not dead since only one body was found. She and Dr. Dan know the look-alike kidnapped Vero, but only one body was found. The fact that her purse was in the car means nada in terms of identification if there were two people in the car!

Hasta pronto!

Two in a row, General Mauricio. I great surprise for a Saturday morning, an early recap none to perfection by General Mauricio.

During the show last night, I kept saying---identify the body both in the morgue and when the casket arrived. I kept waiting for someone to open the casket cover for one last look at Veronica. I was wondering why no one seemed to want to do it. Thanks to your recap Mauricio, now I know---the body was burnt beyond recognition.

So Aaron ends up with Veronica's cell phone. What an interesting turn of events. I don't think that V-snake Virginia will be acting so tough when she meats up with the mean and cruel Aaron. Will Dr. Dan be close by? A lot of Questions for Monday.

Will Ana Perla's tears finally stop? Will Blanquita be safe around those two creeps?
Do either of those two ever shower?---Just a thought.

What will be Mariana's next move?

I can't wait to read the comments, I'm sure they will be good.

Mari---Has Virginia seen the police report?

the gringo

Gringo - I didn't notice Virginia reading any police report, but even if that were the case, since supposedly the body was burned beyond recognition, it couldn't have been a positive, no question about it, identification :)

I thought Virginia & Daniel had Veronica, because she said something about Daniel's new plan being even better?

I guess Mariana will be dying, since she told Pablo's mom she didn't care what God wanted.

Weak noodle Pablo. He didn't really start shutting Mariana down about badmouthing Ana Perla until Julio started shutting her down.

Virginia has been playing with little puppies with her schemes but now she will be playing with the big dogs (Aaron) now. Will she be able to handle it?

Anon207---Little puppies and big dogs. I like the way that you put that. You're right though. V-snake is about to move into contact with a whole new breed. The little viper has some poison but will it be enough or strong enough to handle the big guys?

It's only Saturday AM and I can't wait for Monday night.

You knew what you'd be getting yourself into with this one, Mauricio. The episode turned out to be as grim as expected (and probably no fun at all for the actors), but somehow you managed to make the recap a pleasure to read. How the heck do you do that? Thank you – three in a single week! Yikes.

And your suspicions were right about Arturo – not only does he have a shady past, but the monkeys are making time for it to become a plot point. Bah.

But let's look at the bright side. Funniest line of the evening (which you cleverly captured for us here):

"Virginia... recalls the accident. She says that things did not turn out like they wanted but hey what happened wasn't that bad."

She is so deliciously terrible in a junior sorority sort of way. If she thinks Manny is a naco, wait until she has to deal with gimpy Aarón.

We have no way of knowing whether she and Daniel believe that Vero is dead or whether they snatched her up at the scene of the accident. We need her to hear that there was only one body recovered and then observe her reaction. Or we need to overhear a conversation with Daniel.

I'm confused by Lucia's inconstant character. It seemed absurd when she smiled approvingly at Mariana's residency offer. She knows – or should know – that all fruits coming from Mariana are poisoned.

If I were Pablo and that fool Julio had tried to kill me more than once, I wouldn't be running around calling him 'noble.' I think he gave up that epithet a long time ago.

Mauricio thank you for the recap it was very interesting. These people are really good with their crying scenes, real tears and everything. I like the way ivan crys, it looks so real. Some men cry really pretty. it's ugly pretty it works.
I don't know about y'all but I'm halfway expecting Veronica to come walking into that church while they are all crying and sobbing and snotting all over her coffin. It probably won't happen but I'm really really really wishing it would. I certainly hope so because the wheels have already started to turn in Rebecca's little jeweled brain. It's too late in the game for any other coupling and recoupling, they should just bring Veronica back because there's only like maybe 2 weeks left?!?.....

And now Virginia is in a world of sh**you know because now Papa Aaron is, he still Is disgusting on to her because of that Cphone.

Mariana is just really pathetic she should just go away. You know, I could see Pablo and Julio being really good friends after all this mess is over. He's really a good guy I think, he's just had his heart broken in his life because he can't read. people tend to take advantage of people like that. I'm hoping good things for him but he really needs to layoff ana perla cause, that is not going to happen.
If mariana wasn't such an airhead she could help him out with all that extra money shes got she ain't doing nothing else with It but runnin around making everybody else miserable.

Great job Mauricio. Do they really do the viewing thing at home in Mexico in 2015? And rich people in the city? I didn't feel anyone's grief. It felt forced to me. Whatever.
Romy

Thank you, Mauricio. Great job, as always. I agree with Romy that the grief felt forced, but I think it's because of the way it was written. We all know Veronica isn't really dead, so we (Viewerville) are immune to the tears and laments that are being shown. There should have been a couple of totally unexpected deaths of major characters along the way, so that we could maybe really think, is she or isn't she? They should NOT have shown us that Daniel and Virginia hired a lookalike, nor shown both in the car. We shouldn't have known that there were two people and only one body found. All the suspense and anticipation was let out like the air in a busted balloon to where we're left with a, "Meh, whatever ... stop your bawling 'cause she's not dead," attitude. Bad writing all the way around, but, well ... it's a Mejia production. I deserve what I'm getting to see for breaking my, "Never again!" vow regarding Mejia (and LaToodle) productions.

Well, anon, they did kill off Alfredo in a very shocking and unexpected way. (Not major enough for you?)

I agree that we were kind of vaccinated against the grief in Friday's episode, but I can't help feeling that was deliberate. Could the audience really tolerate believing in an end like that for Verónica, even for the span of an episode or two?

(Having said that, I have to admit that there were moments when Ivan Sanchez really got to me and I experienced his grief as something real.)

Has there ever been a tn where a prota (male or femaale) is really, permanently killed off? That would be so awesome, especially with some of the more annoying ones. They did it in Velo de Novia, but then they got stupid and added a completely new story to it, featuring the same actor. This (Veronica's real death) would be sad, but totally unexpected. Oh, yeah, they killed off Jose Luis in LQLVMR, but he wasn't THE prota. Oh, well.

Hmmm ... I just saw Ivan Sanchez's grief as totally overacting, but that's just me. I don't really like the actor, so maybe that colors my perception.

Excellent recap on a frustrating episode Mauricio! I really enjoy your recaps, they always flow smoothly and you have great asides that don't deter from the recap. Thank you!

I was very frustrated with the fact that they just assumed it was Vero without DNA or matching dental records. Of course it seems very obvious it was here since it was her car and her belongings and only one body but still don't they have to make it official? I'm with those of us that felt the grief was a little forced, Magdalena is always hysterical so it wasn't a big difference to me. I just kept thinking these people are crying over that bitchy look a like Virginia paid! I did feel a little for Marty though.

Mariana was also very frustrating to watch gnashing her buck teeth at Julio and Lucia. I was glad Lucia told her to have some dignity but I agree that Mariana signed her death certificate last night. I hope it's a good anvil :)

There was something I didn't quite understand but can't recall, but I'm also wondering how Aaron unlocked vero's phone? And did anyone notice how the cell phone video was from the wrong point of view? I laughed at that because vero was sitting behind them in the video that supposedly was taken by Vero! Oh monkey writers! Can't wait to read more comments! The only thing good about Mondays is that our TNs return.

To be honest I was 100% captivated by all their grief. I honestly felt panicked because I was like: OMG! This is going for too long!! She MUST be dead!!! I was waiting for them to pan over the hospital and show some long haired chick with bandages all over her body.

I cannot wait for next week!!!

Im sooo bored by AP/Pablo...sigh! They do not communicate with each other well at all and I feel so sad that AP's sense of trust is so shattered. Mariana exasperates me so much...can't she pay someone to love her?

Mauricio this was a great recap! Thanks so much again.

I will like to applaud Ivan Sanchez and Claudia Ramirez for a great show of brief. Ivan in particular made me so sad and I must admit I had a few tears. He really did an excellent job because he hardly said anything but you could see it. The phrase "show, dont tell" (writing technique) came to my mind when Martin hardly spoke. The scene between him and Magdalena was so sad. This episode was so sad for me. The burial would be even worse for Martin. I did feel for him.

I didn't agree with the way Emi blamed Martin, but I do understand sometimes in situations like this one would look for someone else to blame. So I understand Emi's reaction.

I am really angry that we haven't seen Vero this episode! Where is Vero?

Again I am not liking Rebecca. Why are they bringing her in so late? I would understand if Claudia or Nanci are brought in again to go after Martin (not that I would approve of it), but what is the need of bringing Rebecca?

Good afternoon everyone. Thank you for the great comments and I am glad that you all liked the recap of what was a very sad episode.

I think they all did a good job with the grief. Marty and Magda are taking it the worst and I loved the scene with just the two of them. It was very well done. Emi and Jorge must be feeling terrible knowing that they treated Veronica so badly on what they believe to be her last few days.

I don't think Virginia knows yet that only one body was found. But when she does find out she probably will be wondering what happened to the other body.

It was an interesting turn of events that the cellphone with Virginia's incriminating confession ended up in Aaron's possession. I suspect that he'll try and blackmail her and Daniel for money. But I think she will be able to handle him.

Julio sure had some nerve accusing Mariana of getting in between Ana Perla and Pablo and not respecting their love when he is doing the exact same thing.

I was surprised to see that my suspicion of Arturo was correct. I wonder where the writers are going with all of this.

Thanks for the recap Mauricio! I didn't watch because I knew it would be really sad. Not only because of the "funeral" but because of how awful the writing is on this TN! It's obvious Vero didn't actually die, but why do this stupid (and way overdone) storyline now with only 2 weeks left? Let me guess, she'll have amnesia too. Gah. As much as I love AB and IS as a couple and I really liked the beginning of this TN, I am definitely not watching a Mejia TN again and really just want this one to finish already.

Forced crying? I didn't see it that way at all although at times, Magdalena was giving me just about all that I could take. No, I didn't see it as forced at all although I did get angry watching V-snake put on her FAKE show of sorrow. I was going to say grief and sorrow but the grief and sorrow part belong only to Magda and Marty.

I really give it to these actors because I could never do that---be or do something that isn't me. I have always wondered what it would be like being married to an actress. How could ever tell when she was serious or just acting? That goes both ways of course.

Mauricio---You think that the little viper can handle Aaron a hardened criminal? I don't think so. She's good but not that good. She's tough but not that tough. How many times did Veronica slap her down? If Virginia does confront and take on Aaron, she's gonna need backup. (He could bend her like a pretzel.) Dr. Dan maybe?

I do agree with you in that Julio had a lot of nerve telling Mariana to respect Ana
Perla and Pablo's wedding. Like he has? LOL.

Duchess---We did get Vero in a flashback.

the gringo

Neither Dr Dan nor Virginia will be able to handle Aaron, although they will think they'll be able to.

I think Virginia and Daniel will have Veronica locked up in the old folks home he is buying. Virginia knows exactly where Veronca is and knows she's not dead. That's my theory & I'm sticking to it.

Dan will meet his demise at the hands of Aaron, I think.

Mariana cursed God so she has to go, even though she has committed no crimes.

I don't see how Pablo ruined Ana Perla's sense of trust when her own family cursed her, beat her, locked her up, tried to kill her and turned the town on her. Yet Ana Perla will easily forgive Manny and Grumps and Raymunda but won't listen to Pablo for 5 minutes.

Arturo probably spent time in juvvie b/c he got caught up in Chelas' schemes.

I suspect there will be a Semanas Depues coming up. That's the only way Rebeca coming on the scene works.

Thanks for another outstanding recap, Mauricio. Your third of the week? Wow! You're indestructible. I'm in awe.

After reading the comments with all that praise for Martín's pretty grief, I had to go back and rewatch that scene at the site of the wreck to see how my perception could have been so out of sync... well, what I witnessed once again was some very unseemly wailing, moaning, and caterwauling by Martín. I thought it was a disgraceful and embarrassing display of weakness and lack of self-control... but then... opinions vary. I thought that Virginia's display of grief at Matilde's wake was more convincing not to mention much prettier.

Anon207,

"I suspect there will be a Semanas Despues coming up."

At least. As I mentioned yesterday, I think that we may be looking at meses despues (quite possibly años)... we'll soon see.

I don't think that Aarón is any match for Virginia's cunning. He's such a bumbling inept fool. She'll chew him up and spit him out.

Carlos

¡Hola a todos!

Great comments!

Carlos - I too don't think Aarón is any match for Virginia. He is a bumping, inept fool.

Anon 207- yeah, now thinking Virginia knows exactly where Vero is.

Thanks, Mauricio, for another stellar recap. You've been our main man this week, with multiple recaps. I appreciate all our recappers, for keeping us up to date.

Martin really likes to let it all out emotionally, doesn't he? His crying was a little overdone, but I liked the scene where he was gripping the back of his neck with his head hanging down. He was fairly believable, while Magdalena was more annoying to me. Sorry, I've never bought into her as a major character, always thought of her as a minor character.

Sooo tired of Pablo and AP. Arturo and Blanca have barely begun and I'm tired of them as well. Joven Emi just dialing in his performance? Not sure, maybe he's just trying to act like a more normal person than his evil guy in "Robo".

Aaron could serve a useful purpose if he goes up against V-snake and Dr. Dan. He could go out in a blaze of glory, as it were.

Feeling very frustrated that no one bucked up and tried to ID the corpse believed to be Vero. The body should never have been released without definite ID. Why have the kidnapper be a look-alike if her remains are never examined? Even if most features were obliterated, the tall body and long dark hair might have been mistaken and called as Vero. Also, we might have been shown some clue has to how Vero survived the crash (we know she must have).

No one except Aaron, Virginia and Dan know Veronica was traveling with another person. So while the authorities should've done a DNA test to confirm Veronica's identity, none of Veronica's family has any reason to believe it's not Veronica in the car, especially since her ID's and personal effects were found with the body.

Veronica was probably thrown out of the car because I don't think Lady Ladrona took time to buckle Veronica up after they switched places in the car.

Mauricio, belated thanks for this and ALL the other entertaining and accurate recaps you have done for us. Truly appreciate them all.

Oh my gosh, that was a whole lotta weepin’ and wailin’ over a body they haven’t even positively identified. I don't think the authorities would ever be that lax in issuing a death certificate. Even if she was thought to be the only passenger, they would never just make assumptions for something as important as a death cert.

ITA that Madge was really irritating throughout, and crash site scene was overdone by Martin, and why were they even there, anyhow? But I did appreciate the way they showed the majority of Marty's grief, when he was stunned and withdrawn. That is much more realistic IME, and I thought the main part of Martin’s performance was the result of good direction and acting.

How did V-snake’s shoes get so muddy? We never saw her get out of the car. Hmmm. I thought that from her reaction to Vero’s death, it was news to her (she deduced it when the early morning meeting was called), but I don’t understand the muddy boots, which they certainly made sure we didn’t miss. And how come Vero’s purse wasn’t burned to bits? If it magically flew out the window, how come all the contents were still in it?

I think Virginia be outdone by Aaron because although inept, he’s a pro and she’s just a talented amateur. And she has made plenty of mistakes as well. Also, she cowered like a baby that time Marty got in her face, and that was nothing compared to what Aaron can do. He might even be the one who delivers her anvil, though I think it will be prison because Vero has repeatedly said it’s her goal to put her there.

Duchess, I think the reason they brought in Rebeca was because the actress is a big name and was the star of Mejia’s last TN, Que Bonito Amor, if ‘star’ is the right word for a participant in such a disaster. There were rumors and a ‘buzz’ in Mexico about her joining the cast, so it was just a ratings ploy, and the Monkey Writers all got banana milk shakes as a reward.

Anon207, I do believe Mariana has committed some crimes against fashion. Us poor patio peeps are her victims and those gold lamé slacks alone cry out for justice.

Thanks Mauricio.

About the protagonists that died , Velo De Novia and Amor the Silencio were novelas that included this plot-line but both in the end got replaced by a new cast.

I think Mejia tried at first to make something out of this story but the side characters like AP, Pablo , Manuel just overwhelmed what would be a fine good story and instead turned it into pure garbo. Ivan and Ana Brenda had good chemistry and their story was the only one who kept my interest until the cancerous side plots made my stomach puke. I want to try to keep with it up again but I am afraid I will die from boredom . If you don't care about the story it may be a nice roller-coaster but not something memorable.

"How did V-snake’s shoes get so muddy? We never saw her get out of the car. Hmmm. I thought that from her reaction to Vero’s death, it was news to her (she deduced it when the early morning meeting was called), but I don’t understand the muddy boots, which they certainly made sure we didn’t miss."

While we did not see her get out of the car, I think the reason they made sure we didn't miss the muddy boots in this episode was to let us know in fact she did. Also, I thought V-snake already expected the meeting to be about Vero's "passing" because she saw the car explode.

But to not sound negative I do praise the acting. These are very talented actors and I hope we see more of Manny's actor in other shows. Hopefully not in Mejia's. I enjoy his performance very much. Mejia has got the perfect actors but he did not know what to do with it. I think Manny's actor should have been Emi. Sendel could have played Daniel or not be in the show at all.

Mariana should have been Claudia. Pablo would still be there as Alfredo but he wouldnt die. There would be no Morenita storyline at all except that Botel and Magda would be living somewhere else until they return in time to find Vero. Demetrio would have been living across them as their neibhour.

"I thought it [Martín's evident grief] was a disgraceful and embarrassing display of weakness and lack of self-control... but then... opinions vary. I thought that Virginia's display of grief at Matilde's wake was more convincing not to mention much prettier."

hahahahahahahahahahaha! See, this is why we love you, Carlos. Say, any G&T's left?

Carolina, I like your reasoning on the impending Virginia/Aarón face-off. The thing is that Ginny and Danny have only attacked the GOOD people, whose innocence made them vulnerable. They have taken advantage of the naiveté of others. Now they are faced with an opponent who, like them, is completely unscrupulous and who, unlike them, is unafraid of doing his own dirty work.

The more I think about it, the more I love this episode...

The muddy boots

The damning video that ends up in the wrong hands

The broad who pays for her wickedness sooner than she expected

The grieving widower and the beautiful stranger ready to console him

Now if only the monkeys can work the snails in...

Yes, Carolina, I like your reasoning too re: a Virginia/Dr. Dan/Aarón face-off. I was thinking she was a match for Aarón or better, but I forgot how she did cower when confronted by Martín. She's going to need Manny for this encounter...although he's not too successful either, just plain scary.

Carolina thanks for explaining about Rebecca. I am not liking where this is going with Martin and her.

I don't see myself watching another Meija TN except if Ivan and Ana are in it. I also think that the actors are really good. The actor that plays Manuel he is doing a better job in this TN compared to Corazon Indominable (where I first saw him).

I hope Aaron teaches Virginia a lesson!!!

I read an article recently that said Ivân is taking a break from telenovelas for a while. Like you, I really like Iván and Ana as a TN couple, and I think they are good actors. I especially like Iván because I've seen him play an entirely different character very well...and because he is muy guapo:)

I like Ivan and Ana Brenda too and honestly I would have picked up on the show more if the plot was focused more on Prado Castelo's than on Pablo&AP. I am a fan of Sebastian Zurita( Pablo) but I think that the sideplot was poorly handled from the start. I was high on schedule and planned to give it a second chance but then I heard of the Rebecca rumours and I just gave up on the show as a whole. But the show has inspired me to try watching the original ( La Mentira) . As I was working on recapping Yo No Cre En Los Hombres I was shocked because side characters are handled really well although the plot moves fast so it may be more difficult to grasp it but when you do your're in for a ride! A decent director should know how to give their characters pacing ,to give main characters relevancy.

My favorite side characters in this one at the time of watching were Manny, Araon and that's about it.

Mari, I agree completely with your logic about the boots. They were definitely shown for an important reason and we all know that Veronica isn't dead, so those two things are most likely connected.

It's sure going to be fun to see Virginia get what she's got coming - except for poor Carlos, who might have to cover his eyes and make his G&Ts doubles. ;)

I've enjoyed this novela. I don't care for Mejia's extreme melodrama and lack of attention to details (never mind logic), but I loved Ana Brenda and Ivan together. The side plots were exceptionally weak, and for me, that is what distinguishes mediocre from good and great telenovelas. The side plots are always a bit of an ordeal for me, but the best novelas have a great main story, chemistry between the leading couple, and side plots that don't make you want to grab the remote or throw things.

I'd have to say that the whole premise of this novela was exceptionally weak. Revenge for suicide just doesn't make sense to me, and neither does marrying for revenge. Add to that the poor casting of joven Emiliano and Nanciyaga (who is far too European looking for the role) and this show really started out in a hole. I'll give them credit for pulling it off as well as they did.

WOW!!! A lot of action and even a little bit of controversy on the patio this weekend not only over the last episode but also for some, over the entire novela. I have heard it before and I'm hearing it again---No More Mejia! I am not in anyway a
movie or novela critic. I just watch the show, enjoy it and go along for the ride with very little criticism. Just mostly enjoyment. The bottom line is that I just LOVE it punto, Mejia or not.

Side plots, side characters? I love them all. I wouldn't change a thing but I will add that Ana Perla has some growing up to do. But on the other hand---If you grew up under the thumb of Grandpa Goat, you might not be sure of yourself either. She was never allowed to make a decision on her own, they were always made for her so of course now that she is out in the world and away from her repressive family, she is having a hard time adjusting to life and love.

Oh my---you guys want to give the monkey writers banana milkshakes and have them playing with Nanciyaga's snails? I'm not so sure that would be a good thing.

The patio seems to be divided this weekend at least on one point. V-snake/Virginia and Aaron. We have brains and cunning, a rank amateur against the not so smart brawn
of a hardened criminal. This is definitely an interesting matchup. I had been thinking as Carolina has, that Aaron might be the one to present the little viper with her anvil. But then Carolina said that (and it's true) Veronica wants Virginia in jail and so, this one might take a little more thought. If however there is a meeting of some kind between Virginia and Aaron and Aaron feels like he has been played in some way or perhaps, double crossed, then it could be curtains for Carlos's favorite little viper Virginia.

The question of the muddy or dirt laden boots came up. Yes, where did the dirt on V-snakes boots come from. The novela didn't show us. Could she have been searching through the brush looking for Veronica or any thing that Veronica may have had with her at the time of the crash? We might never find an answer to this question.

Anyway---Questions or not. Mejia or not. The gringo will be front and center Monday
noche for---must see tv.

Good afternoon everyone! Thank you all for the great comments and discussion.

Great point about the mud on the boots which they did make a point of brining importance to. I am now thinking that there is something else that happened that we as the viewers weren't shown. We never did find out what happened to Daniel and Virginia after wtinessing the accident. Did they leave? Did they stick around for some investigating? Let's not forget that Daniel is a doctor. They could have snatched up Veronica and have her somewhere with Daniel curing her wounds. This all speculation and hope that we find out soon what happened.

Yes, Mauricio - Dr. Dan curing her wounds and/or making sure she doesn't escape by feeding her some sort of debilitating medication.

Also, good point that Veronica could be at the retirement home. There has to be reason why the writers have added that part of Daniel being interested in starting one.

The problem with the side stories are that the side story characters are dumber Than a bag of rocks. We can't believe they would be so stupid, therefore we can't really root for them or be bothered to care.

It's kind of funny, but even though side characters can be kind of dumb at times, AP for example, there's usually a reason that it's gone bad and stupid, like OG raising an innocent girl who loves him, and having Manny at your heels every move you make. So for that, I do root for them to find some courage and ability to be the person that they truly are, not the fearful product of abuse.

Actually, it's not funny at all. I don't know what I said that! lol

It's not even Ana Perla and Pablo, it's

Raymunda, a 40something woman who shut out her own children & husband because her father ordered her to;

Mariana, a very pretty girl who can't stop obsessesing over Pablo, who never really was that into her;

Julio trying to kill Pablo for taking away Ana Perla's love, when she never ever showed any liking to him;

Gaby, who draped herself over a married man but is surprised the townspeople are mad that she draped herself over a married man

Anon207: AND many (Manny) people who attempted or committed murder without repercussions.

Mauricio,
Thanks you for your recap. There are no words for what you did this past week. Three awesome recaps. You are a star. You I are all that And a bag of chips.

I would have to say that I believed Marty's grief. Especially when he sat in that office rocking himself back and forth. And at the wake when he sat there in disbelief. He seems to be in a state of shock. He can't believe it because he did not see her body or have a chance to say goodbye. Maggie was somewhat believable, but then the loud cry got a little annoying.

Mariana IS ANNOYING. I don't know what happened to her as a child but she has some major abandonment issues. Apparently she can't be away from Pablo. She doesn't love him, but is too obsessed to let go. With her looks she wouldn't have a problem finding someone. I thought she would be a good option for Julio since they are both obsessing for someone that doesn't love them, but now that she has condemned her soul who knows? I almost feel sorry for Pablo. On the one hand he's got a clingy, obsessive girl chasing after him, and on the other he's got a "I am going to draw my own conclusions", immature, pregnant wife. Good grief!

Thanks again Mauricio.
Hasta Pronto!

Thank you AuntyAnn.

Yes. I also felt that he was still in state of shock and couldn't believe it. It was some great acting from Ivan Sanchez.

I also think that Mariana would be a good option for Julio. They are both so alike - unable to let go and move on.

I'm so looking forward to a brand new week of "Lo Imperdonable". Just half an hour left until we start off the week with a new episode.

Yes, believed Marty's grief. "No puede ser. No puede ser..."
