Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse #37 Wed 10/14/15 (Mex 49) Them's the brakes

Hey, life happens, so…better late than never.  This is very condensed and organized semi-topically

Aitana's parents showed up for dinner surprisingly early in the episode.  They seem…ok.  Aitana's dad, at her request, has prepared a plan for how to improve the Monterrey plant.  Why Pedro doesn't throw a fit about how he's got it under control is beyond me.  Pedro and Eloisa spend most of the dinner praising Aitana and making Fi incredibly uncomfortable. She finally runs out of the dining room.

Sergio and Julieta spend a lot of time smooching al fresco, to the delight of Anibal's hired photographer/PI.  The lousy security at Rancho LA eventually catches the guy.

AFTER all the screaming and the hideously uncomfortable dinner, and presumably a good night's sleep, Pedro decides that he wants to have a calm conversation with Fi, but hell no, that ship has sailed, bro!  She's off to town with Benito at Eloisa's behest.  To buy a gorgeous arrangement of orchids.  For Aitana's mother.

That means Benito's not available to drive Gianna to school on her first day.  She leaves with Gael about a split second before Roxi shows up and ends up having to take a taxi.  She's outraged that on top of everything else, the taxi driver insisted on addressing her as "tu."  She takes revenge by swiping another student's wallet and dropping it in Gianna's purse before class.  Thursday, we'll find out how that all shakes out.

Now, Fidel would have been available to drive Rox, except that Eloisa wanted him to drive her somewhere.  He was just on his way to fill the tank of the SUV with gas, as per "security" protocols, when he was hit unexpectedly with the stupid stick and blandly handed the keys over to Pedro so that Pedro could chase after Fiorella.

And chase he did…he nearly ran her over, sideswiped Benito with the SUV, and crashed.  Why?  Because Fidel knows too much and Dante and/or Fed tampered with the SUV brakes, hoping to kill him when he made his gas run.  At the end of the episode, they're sweating, wondering what happened to Pedro.

Pedro is banged up, but conscious, Fi is doing well enough to scream at him, but Benito?  He's out cold on the pavement and we'll have to wait and see what happens to him.

I almost forgot…Fabio meets with a skeevy guy to pay a lot of money for something that will "make [his] wife lose her baby."  He puts it in Sonia's tea, but she stalls so much on drinking it that Osvaldo ends up showing up and swiping it from her.  As he drinks it, Fabio looks incredibly uncomfortable.  Either because Osvaldo is about to be experiencing some discomfort of his own, or because of the money he spent.

Thanks, Kat! I really appreciate the recap because I only saw the last few minutes-- Pedro nearly run down Fiorella, who looked like she was dressed in the nun's version of her flowery dresses.

So, after Pedro wishes Fi would fall off the face of the earth, he proceeded to praise Aitana in front of her parents and Fi?! WTF?

Gracias, Vivi! Yeah, it was about like that. The whole dinner was really less about Aitana or her parents than about sticking it to Fi. And then suddenly the next morning, Pedro's all "Um, can we talk?" Seriously, dude?

I have to admit, I was rolling my eyes before the show and making bets that this stupid dinner wasn't even going to happen until Friday, but no...we got a dinner, we got Fi nearly getting run over, we got Fabio trying to drug Sonia. Who knew?!

Kat- thank you for the recap m

Why on earth was Fi at dinner with seaweed hair and her parents?!? Was that Eloisa's cruel way to rub it in that Pedro is assigned to Aitana? That old bat needs a big anvil.

I am so over Pedro. There is no way any woman should waste her time mooning over that turkey.

Okay....rant over. Gah.

Gracias, doris! Exactly! There was no reason for Fi to have to be there observing dinner! And I actually would be less annoyed with Pedro if he had just stayed angry and stayed the hell away from Fi. And did he even apologize for losing his temper? I don't remember. And I really don't care at this point, I just want to kick him in the shins.

Diva - Thank you, capitana linda!

Oh yeah, that dinner was DEFINITELY just Eloisa being extra cruel. She's complying with her threat to Pedro by running Fi off and she's doing it by shoving the Pedro/Aitana relationship in her face like cake in a food fight.

Rox. Is the worst.
I was hoping Joaquina would at least wake up some when Roxana chewed her out and insulted her horribly for fussing over her first day of college the same way mom's fuss over a kid's first day of kindergarten, but she just slid away like a kicked puppy.

I wonder what will happen to Osvaldo! Will he get the runs? become sterile? Vomit violently all over Eloisa?! Ooh! Ooh! -Vomit violently all over Roxana?!! (who I bet will freak a little -if privately- over Benito's accident.

Gracias, HellaShelle! I'm not usually a fan of vomit, but I'll make an exception in this case. I will be vastly disappointed if nothing happens to him at all...but how bad is it going to look if he ends up in the hospital, someone tells him what was in the tea, and then he remembers it was Sonia's tea? As if that relationship wasn't crappy enough already!

Yeah. Don't know how she'll going to explain that one. Though the truth might not be bad. Osvaldo would be pissed she told him, but might take more of an interest if he thinks that Fabio thinks it's his kid.

Comment deleted. This is Wednesdays recap. We'll talk about Thursday's episode on Thursday's recap.

Gracias, Nina! Hm, yes, that anatomy professor...dishy ;) If I were Gi, I'd be hiding all my notes under lock and key. I certainly don't expect Rox to do any coursework of her own.

Just got to this but thank you much Kat. What a trooper.
