Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse #36 Tue 10/13/15 (Mex 48) Baby drama
Pedro's still resisting accepting his fate and opts to have Fidel drive him into the city, but not to work.
Random TN doc confirms that it's way too early for a DNA test. Try again later. But Osvaldo refuses to wait, even if it kills what could potentially be his baby. The doc resists, though, because it's way too risky. And no other respectable doctor would agree, but he's happy to give Sonia a prescription for her nausea. RPC on the crappy things Os says to Sonia when the doctor leaves the office.
Cute Beto is cute in his little hoodie with ears. Being around a baby reminds Fi of Gianna, but she's glad Gi is getting stronger. Vitto brings up having kids…ew! Talk about killing the mood. Pedro shoves his way into Vitto's office and sees the cozy little fake-family scene. He even hears Vitto saying they've got to hurry, 'cause he's old. When Sonia calls him he nearly gets busted.
Why is Gianna trying to encourage Benito just when he's finally given up on Fiorella? I think she sees it as the best way to get Fio out of this horrible triangle with Pedro and Vitto. And then she admits that she has feelings for him…but she's happy with Gael and their secret relationship. Gianna points out that Benito's tendency to get jealous of pretty much everyone is confusing--who is he into? Her or Fio? Benito finally agrees to do what he can to win Fi over, and Gi agrees to help him. For Fiorella's sake.
Office tour. Fed's dressed like a demented clown and Rox looks like she's coming in after a night of clubbing and her shirt got ripped on the way out of the club. They bully their way past Pedro's secretary and I'm sorry his office door wasn't locked. Fed totally gets off on being in Pedro's chair. Rox can't understand Fed's obsession with having access to files. Pedro's secretary finally goes in there to throw them out, but luckily for her, she's doing it just as they had already decided to leave on their own.
Diana and her mom argue about what grandma thinks is Diana's neglect of her son. I'm not listening. Any bets on whether the fake sister in the hospital is going to "die" and Diana is going to "adopt" her son?
Parallel car rides. Fidel drives Pedro and Benito drives Fi. Pedro thinks Fi and Vitto are getting along well. Fidel thinks Pedro isn't fighting hard enough. Fi thinks she's less and less willing to marry Vitto. Benito thinks she needs to call it off already. But Fi also doesn't like the idea of not being with Pedro. Benito suggests there maybe other guys in the world. Pedro shares the complication of pregnant Sonia with Fidel.
Os threatens Fabio. If it's his baby, Os will make sure his wife finds out.
Back at the house, Fi is back to saying she's going to marry Vitto and have his babies. Benito offers a picnic in apology. Fi has her dance card full and begs Benito to just be her friend. He calls for a waiter who brings a tray of…crostini?...that Benito spent all morning making himself. Friend points scored.
Sonia. Lying like a lying liar about why she's sure it's Pedro's baby. She actually thinks she can get him to leave the family for HER and start a new life together. Sister, if he won't do that for Fiorella who he's crazy in love with…. She's still going on about how this is Pedro's baby and I wish they weren't having this conversation in the house. How many times is he going to have to explain that he's NEVER going to be with her, even if it is his baby. So she tries holding the threat of an abortion over his head. Pedro says that's on her. All he'll offer her is that if it is his baby, he'll "hacerse cargo" (take responsibility).
Gianna spies on the just-friends picnic and gets interrupted by Gael for some not-just-friends time. She doesn't want to kiss him, though, because someone might see. (BOO!) School starts tomorrow and Gael says he'll take care of "everything" (meaning Roxi and any potential shenanigans).
Dante and Feddie the Clown take a ride in one of the golf carts. When Fed brings up the "murder" aspect of finding out what happened to her father, Dante gets nervous. Fidel sees them and Dante tells her that he already knows about them and said he wouldn't say anything.
Sergio is fake-proud of Pedro for resorting to booze for solving his problems. Eloisa noses her way into the convo to say Pedro just doesn't like being told what to do. He dares to utter "love" and "Fiorella" in the same sentence, pissing off El. She's determined to think that it's just lust or infatuation. She tells him to get all prettied up, because we're finally going to meet the people who spawned Aitana. And who are putting up the cash to help with the Monterrey plant. Whaaaaaaat?! I thought the Monterrey plant was only going under because Osvaldo's a crappy businessman and Pedro was going to take care of it? Um, apparently that's what Pedro thought too. Sergio does a shot of tequila in honor of Pedro being demoted to "mere mortal" status.
Julieta meets with her divorce lawyer in the dining room. She wants to make sure Anibal doesn't end up with her property. And hell yeah he cheated, but only on days that end in "y"…she doesn't have any proof, but she does have Fi as a witness that he hits on any woman who breathes. Unfortunately that's not good enough.
Fabio wants Sonia to put a leash on Osvaldo. Like that's going to happen. Maybe Fabio should have kept it in his pants. He offers Sonia money and the address of a doctor. She's furious! Gotta say, I think she's being completely sincere in her rage. She's already lost one child and she won't lose another, nor will she have an abortion. This is HER baby, no matter who the daddy is and she'll defend it, no matter who else finds it an inconvenience.
Diana's "sister" has made a miraculous recovery and is back at home with Beto. Vitto still wants to meet her. Suddenly he asks why Diana has never had children and then says maybe she's one of those women who just wasn't meant to have children. She doesn't seem to have that motherly instinct like his precious Fi did. She had such a way with Beto, it's almost as if she was his mother. She's going to be the best mother in the world to his children. Ew. I think I need Sergio to pour me some of that tequila!
Gael goes to Rox's room to tell her not to mess with Gianna. She counter-warns him that if he pisses her off, she'll tell Eloisa that Gael is paying Gianna's tuition and he'll end up in New Zealand picking kiwis.
Fi and Benito nosh and talk about food words in Italian. Yes, dude, pizza is "pizza." He gets a call to go move one of the cars, leaving an opening for a skulking Pedro to walk over and yell at her for getting after him about Aitana when she's making plans to have babies with Vitto. I'm tempted to mute the TV. I'm already not listening, but visually, good grief, the sparks! They look like they want to kiss each other as much as they'd like to kick each other in the shins. And then Pedro ruins what could have been an epic angry snog by saying he wishes he could make her disappear from the face of the earth.

I'm fining Pedro for unnecessary roughness for that last comment. It's all fun and games, and sexual tension, until one person wishes the other person would fall off the face of the Earth. Tsk, tsk, Pedro!
Not liking Gi trying to force Benito on Fi, but liked their honest conversation in the kitchen. And I HATE that Fi seems to think her ONLY options in life are marrying Pedro or marrying Vitto. No wonder Gi and Ben think it's totally appropriate that her third life option be Benito.
I continue to be amused by the ironic situation that Diana, who denied her child and even declared him dead, has fallen into. Yeah. I'm totally seeing her declaring that her "sister" died and that she's adopted her "nephew."
I also felt that Sonia was being sincere when she told the Italian off when he gave her money for the abortion. But it lost some of its power for me because she had just been threatening Pedro to do just that.
Eloisa is just throwing hr weight around. She might wn the controlling interest. Whatever it is, she is likely to use this as torture.
More domani.
I really think that's the only way to get the truth out of Sonia...make her lose her temper.
Gracias, Urban...catch you tomorrow!
Vivi - LOL! Great line!
You have got to be kidding me with Eloisa right now. As my niece says: "I can't even..." If Pedro wasn't suffering from the extreme whiplash of now being El's whipping boy, he might've said that if she's so interested in running the company -finding investors, saving plants- then she can runthe whole thing cuz she's outta there. Same thing goes for Gael when Rox said she'd tell on him to El. (Because she has the maturity of...Beto. Actually, less.) Maximo's inheritance is up to El, but I thought Gael (like, I suppose, Osvaldo also does) already has access to a seperate trust fund, no?
Fed looks way too comfy in that chair. I hope El pushes Pedro until he leaves and Fed takes over andmakesher life hell for what they did to her dad.
I don't know what's worse. Eloisa messing with Pedro's love life, or her messing with his business strategy.
I would think that Pedro and Osvaldo have salaries of some sort and Gael, Rox, and Fed have something like an allowance or a monthly stipend or something.
I did get scenes during commercials, and most of what I was seeing was all so much filler and same old same old. I think I am much better off reading through your details than bothering trying to watch the episode today in whole. Seems it was so much filler.
So we do get that Eloisa's master plan is getting cash. Ah, such a conniving old witch. If Pedro's eyes aren't opening with what she's spilling and doing, then he's staying at the top of my list as not only the wimpiest galan, but one of the dumbest. And this dude is a CEO?? ORGANIC,INC. That's what was flashing across his monitor in the office. I don't this clan would know organic if it hit them in the face.
Seeing Freddy behind that desk briefly (tried to just block out Roxy), it might be interesting to see what she would do. I know we're SUPPOSED to hate her, but what really has she done but be no different than the rest of that brood. Wouldn't it be a twist to realize her hatred was justified and she becomes CEO extraordinaire?
And that last scene, I caught that and let me say I'm done with these Fi/Pedro scenes. Good lord, either kiss and makeup (Which we know won't happen) or go get your own story lines for awhile.
Now, I'll weigh in on the Fi thinking she has to hook up. Normally in TN I get worked up over the "I can't have you, I marry guy over there plots." And at first was ticked at FiFi too. But then I realize this is a girl who's whole life and fantasies was marriage. We get that in the credits, we got it at the start. This is her goal in life and I don't think she's ever thought of anything else to reach for. She wants this so badly, wants the family and comfort of a home so much, if she can't have the fairy tale version, she will now talk herself into an alternative. It's actually quite sad to me.
And no to the whole Gia saying she likes Benny....do not go there writers. Patio is getting out the pitchforks. The fact this guy can bounce to whoever gives him the nod drivers me nuts. Not endearing.
Daisynjay
Eloisa messing with Pedro's business strategy is ultimately going to backfire on her and the company. However, that will not happen overnight and she will likely blame someone else. I think she might take away Pedro's responsibilities one by one until he caves to marrying Aitana.... whom he will not boink again, which will cause different problems.
As for Aitana herself, I will repeat myself for the benefit of any newbies: She has no dignity. She is a pathetic clinging vine and she knows it. She also knows at the moment that without Eloisa steamrolling the situation she doesn't have a snowball's chance in hell of marrying Pedro.
Pedro should have just suggested to Fiorella that they elope. She's 23 and he's 30-something so no legal interference can undo this if they had both ceremonies before the reveal. He makes enough money to have owned the apartment Tania lived in and they don't have to live in the "family" residence. Situations like that can be stifling, especially knowing that there are security cameras all over the place.
I know this won't happen but what if Fiorella married Vittorio and he dropped dead on their wedding night? Would that mean she inherits the restaurant and his fortune? That would be quite a kick in the head to Eloisa.
This was great.
“And then she admits that she has feelings for him…but she's happy with Gael and their secret relationship”. By encouraging Benito to continue his fruitless quest for the uninterested Fiorella, Gianna has caused even more confusion. Yes, let’s try and lure her away from the present two combatants for her love by throwing Benito in as a consolation prize. But, this did confirm Gi still has feelings for Benito. I knew it! I’m not saying it’s a good thing because while I like Benito, Gael is pretty darn perfect.
I agree that Benito scored major points for that picnic. The food looked delish and the butler was perfect. Now I’m seesawing again as to who Gi should end up with. Sigh.
Daisy, I really appreciated “Good lord, either kiss and makeup (Which we know won't happen) or go get your own story lines for a while”. Good advice!
UA, "Fed's dressed like a demented clown" is right. Truly an inspiration for what not to wear.
Thanks Kat!
Diana
Yes, horrific fashion sense!
Diana
If so...why? Not that I'm complaining, but seriously, why was he there? Or was I just seeing things (my laptop screen's all messed up, so it could legit be me seeing things).
1. He's the right age
2. He's cute
3. He's willing to work his arse off
4. He has nice parents who love her.
His major mis-step was concealing his employment status from her at the outset. However, if he had been up-front with her about it an told her that Vittorio wasn't what he said he was, we wouldn't have a story.
This episode also ended on my biggest pet peeve, which is the verbal abuse typically hurled in jealousy. This is also commonplace in Italian movies.
Fed's wardrobe is more like an episode of What Not To Wear.
Eh,,, I'm losing interest in this telenovela. I think Mrs. Gonzalez's seventh grade students are writing the scripts.
I'll have to watch this episode, just to catch Stephen Fry. I enjoyed him as "Jeeves" on the PBS series. Way cool that he did a cameo!
Daisynjay --- Back to the Future? I'm cheering them on!
Wow ..... Captcha just sent me through the Spanish Inquisition. Good grief.
Anyway, do you guys think this is why the plot forces them all to live in the house for a year? To further tie Pedro down?
I'm a monster, but part of me wanted Osvaldo to get his way last night, be the father and then feel guilty for the rest of his life because he raped his wife and then gave his baby some kind of birth defect. (so...yeah, I might be a monster)
Benito's not terrible (in fact, I totally thought it would be he and Gianna when they first got to Mexico), but aside from that lie, he also tried to make Vittorio think Fiorella was a thief, he's jealous of the anyone who looks at three different girls, and he let Roxi see/brought Roxi to the boat proposal, so he's not on my happy list.
However, I think he could be faithful to Fiorella if she loved him, just as Pedro ultimately will be.
I share at least part of your wish for Assvaldo. He should be the father, but I hope the baby is normal... and a girl. Assvaldo would not like that but will not be in a position to be an ass about it. Even Eloisa with her sense of entitlement would recognize that Nature usually has the final say in that one.
I missed the bit about living in the house for a year. Where did that come in?
"hell yeah he cheated, but only on days that end in "y"
"Benito offers a picnic in apology"
"He dares to utter "love" and "Fiorella" in the same sentence, pissing off El"
"Pedro's still resisting accepting his fate" That's what this whole thing feels like, Petey isn't offering an argument intending to win but just bitching as he slides into the mudhole.
Eloisa - backseat driver
Fio - 3 suitors, an old dog, a lap dog and a hot dog
Petey - I'll hold my breath then, your fault if I pass out
Vitto - see, there are mama's and there are mamacita's
Sonia - baby peddler
Gael - between a Rox and a hard place
Freddie - I'm exhausted, my imagination ran wild
Gianna - a Gael in the hand is worth more than two chauffeur's in the bush
Fio - 3 suitors, an old dog, a lap dog and a hot dog
Gael - between a Rox and a hard place
Gianna - a Gael in the hand is worth more than two chauffeurs in the bush
We're not even at the midpoint so we will have to suffer through a lot of separation stuff and we got off to a bad start with that. Your lists distill it all.
I got a good laugh out of "an epic angry snog"
Fio - 3 suitors, an old dog, a lap dog and a hot dog and
Gael - between a Rox and a hard place
I just love how our mind works!!
I think Sonia is redeemable in the writer's minds...odd girl out clawing her way to try to fit in, etc. Motherhood will redeem her sort of thing. But I don't see it with Osvaldo unless he got some MAJOR kick in the head. Like he's the father and almost loses the baby and Sonia kind of thing. Seen that done before. So far he's only a jerk and a cad and really mean to his brother, so there's some hope I guess.
Daisynjay
meant love how YOUR mind works. See laughing so hard internally, can't type.
Daisynjay
Urban, I'm sure the cash infusion won't hurt, but I trust Pedro's business sense, and when he was willing to waste time ('cause come on, he knew it would be a waste) sending Osvaldo to Monterrey, the problem with the plant there can't be all that severe. Cash might actually be a terrible idea because it buys time for Pedro to be distracted. Bad move on El's part. Making him have to focus on fixing Monterrey would monopolize more of his time.
Gracias, Diana! I know I'm confused! Gianna's suggestion felt borderline random. And who wishes a guy on her sister who has previously sucked face with Rox and admits it?
Seriously, that was Stephen Fry?! I knew I recognized him, but the context threw me off. How frickin' cool!
Gracias, doris! Pacing is not Mrs. Gonzalez's class' strong suit. I'm not sure what is. Make ups and break ups? Big romantic gestures that don't actually solve anything?
The way I remember it, living in the house was a non-legally-binding suggestion from Maximo. Not only can any of them refuse and move out, but Eloisa didn't technically have to let them live there.
Gracias, tofie! I love the whole list, but Fio's 3 suitors is my favorite!
Gracias, Sara! We were robbed! Robbed, I tell you!
UA - That's works even better. I would be satisfied with him being the dad but the test making it a super high risk pregnancy.
I think now that Gianna has Gael and Pedro's making Fiorella miserable, Gi just jumped to the next suitable candidate on the list.
Roxi's "I don't want to play with this toy but you can't either" attitude is really wearing thin with me. I like the way Gael brushed off her flirting last night, but I wish he were even more forceful/dismissive about it.
Which could get both of them kicked off the estate if Eloisa keeps on in this mode.
The only way Pedro would suffer from Sonia fingering him as the sperm donor of her baby is if nobody sees the security camera video that clearly shows he's drunk and she's leading him into his own room. This is compounded by his having been too drunk to remember anything about any of this. The other problem is that Pedro hasn't yet told anyone that Sonia has been chasing him.
Fed's dressed like a demented clown
And hell yeah he cheated, but only on days that end in "y
Hate Gigi trying to sell Benito to Fifi. Benito is a confused and deluded tramp. The idiot thinks he can have both sisters AND Roxi. Can't stand him! What's the matter, they couldn't afford another actor or weren't creative enough to find a different rival for Pedro/Vitto? Benny's an ass.
Fifi. See what you have to look forward to on your wedding night, and the night after, and after, and after. . . . You're started to look like a deluded masochist.
And Pedro. Is that how you fight for Fiorella, by using the same threat against her that Granny used with you? Let's stick with the same theme: YOU are a deluded wimp!
And Sonia. As Fabio could keep it in her pants, she could have kept her legs closed, like five times! I don't feel her rage. She is a deluded Jezebel. She wanted a baby? Have one by your HUSBAND. Fertility problems? Go see a Doctor.
I'm disappointed in Gigi siccing Benny back on Fifi. She needs to make kissy face with Gael and focus on school.
So. Looks like Pedro has joined the club Sergio's been in all the time! What happened to Sergio's wife, again? Did he choose wrong or did the wife screw up and Eloisa made her "disappear from the face of the earth?" That whole conversation with Eloisa putting Petey in his place clears up why there's so much chemical self medication going on in this family!
Could another chess game with Ghost!Maximo help?
Mille grazie di nuovo, Capitana!
Maybe forceful's the wrong word. I guess even more dismissive. For example, last night when she was flirting, he brushed her off but more because he wanted to say his piece than because he was aware she was flirting. I'd rather it was more deliberate. And writing this now, I realize it's because I want her to know he's choosing someone else and it's not like he'll willing jump back on her bandwagon whenever she feels like picking it up.
I'm not excusing Sonia's affair, and it's really the only thing she's done that I liked, but we do have to remember that Osvaldo could still be the father and if he is, it happened when he raped his wife. I don't know why they keep glossing over that. I feel like they want us to forget it happened, but why write it in that case? And if I'm getting meta, then it only happened to cast doubt on the child's paternity, which is just...gross and unnecessary. And if the thought was, "Let's show what an awful person he is, how trapped she is, and how messed up the relationship is," um, we got the picture without it, thanks, writers.
I don't think she "wanted" a child, and not with Osvaldo. But now she's getting one. It changes things.
Fer's getup looks like a demented clown ..... Or like a Goodwill store threw up on her.
If Pedro or if broke out in song, in those parallel driving scenes, we'd have a dead ringer for Carpool Karaoke w/James Corden.
Definitely that was Stephen Fry. I noticed that he never opened his mouth to speak.
Sonia is pathetic and needs to give up on Pedro. I hope she has twins and they're both Assvaldo's, and her maternal hormones bring her redemption.
Here's a thought---maybe Os will get killed off.
Hanna
Now what he should have said was "I wish I could make us both disappear off the face of the earth". but instead he is angry and it got the best of him and he said that stupid thing, just her disappearing off the face of the earth. thats probably what Eloisa wish she could do. She don't care nothing about love and commitment accept if it's committing to the company and the Los Angeles family, she just care about how it looks to the rest of the world. she don't really care that he doesn't love this woman, aitana. As a matter of fact he could probably learn to hate her because of what Eloisa wants him to do. And now he has to meet her family. It's a freaking stupid business arrangement. Eloisa might be the one that came up with stealing all gabrials wealth.
I really want to see what Federica find's out about what happened to her father and I'm Thinkin that Weezer is the head of that nasty scheme.
Sonia. "Lying like a lying liar" hahahaha, very
Funny. girl you sound like you were pissed when you said that. That lying liar, trying to stick pedro with Her adultry spawn. The girl is pitiful, pitiful. And desperate. I wonder if Pedro's mother's taking all those pills had anything to do with Eloisa, cuz you see how she was pressuring Pedro, ain't no telling what made her take all those pills with the alcohol. But I wouldn't be a bit surprised if it was Eloisa with her bossy pushy ol gray behind self.
Thank you so much Diva for this recap. I laughed so much with Freddie's clothes yesterday, she definitely has a such especial and funny way of dressing not so apropiate for working in a company. Oh she should have asked Pedro or Osvaldo how to dress for her first day there but oh well everybody in that house is in their own world.
Oh my God what can we say from Sonia? Ok she seems to have a pretty mother instinct so maybe she would be the most sweetiest woman with her children and at the same time a beast to defend them. I loved the scene where she defended her baby from Fabio but I hated the one where she threatened Pedro of getting rid of her baby. Maybe Assvaldo's humilliations and jealousy have driven her crazy and she wants a better daddy for her baby. Because oh do you folks think Assvaldo would be a good father?
Gracias, Hanna! "Relevant" is a good word for it. She apparently felt like a total zero before joining the family, and now she gets respect from others, but not from the family. She doesn't just want someone to bankroll her lifestyle, she wants one of those three guys to want her.
Gracias, Nina! Yep, Eloisa's an old school classist. But no, she did not have anything to do with Pedro's mom's death, that we've been told, and she has said herself that the entire family was sad over it.
I'm not so sure Eloisa wasn't lying about the family's feelings about Pedro's mother's death. Many families have generational codes of silence about such things. Pedro was a child when his mother died and no adult would have wanted him to hear things that were incomprehensible or hurtful. Often these same adults continue to treat the child as a child after he's grown.
Doesn't that explain Eloisa railroading Pedro into an engagement and loveless marriage to Aitana?
Oh well Diva I understand you. Assvaldo is an annoying character and he was very hated on twitter when la novela aired on Mexico but he is one of the main antagonists. So if he dies it would be on the ending.
