Mexico Episode 41: Dreams Come True for One & Not So Much for Everyone Else.

We open with Augusto giving his son fatherly advice on how the real world works. Because of who Alex is everyone will want something from him, there will be people who want to take advantage of him. Alex finds this hard to believe, especially of someone like Alicia. Augusto tells Alex that the people in his mind only lives in romantic novelas and literature not the real world. He needs to be strong to move ahead. Don Augusto excuses himself to answer a phone call.

Nestor the Pest continues to drink his Haterade because he cannot stop goading Alex. This time it is about the commercial featuring a gay couple. He want to know Alex opinion of it. The competitors have a habit of stealing ideas (??) from Iconika. However Nestor the Pest is sure that they came up with this all on their own because us "Normal" folk at Iconika would never have come up with that. Alicia retorts that the competitors did their job because their commercial continues to be a hot topic. Alex continue to brush Lichita off.



Don Augusto is with his son at the API meeting. The archaic board members (in their thinking of course) also bring up the commercial with Alex.  They laugh about the terms they call homosexuals in their own. They believe that Madellin (the competitor) commercial is wrong and want to know what he would do if he was president. Alex tries to use the tactic of how this would be perceived in other countries (less of a big deal). He eventually has to conform to the men's thinking and stated that he would preside with a traditional mindset.

Valeria and Beatriz visit Iconika to Sandra's dismay. Beatriz tells her not to be so surprise....since she has half of the shares it is her obligation to check in from time to time. Valeria plays her right-hand woman and informs Sandra that behind every man there is a great woman (I am surprised she even knows this quote but really why is she here).

Don Augusto calls a meeting to make sure everything is set for the press conference for Alex as a candidate for API. Luciana will make special cocktails to provide a more relaxed environment. She really wanted to attend but Roberto talks her out of it saying she will be bored.

Lichita stops by the stylist salon to give him her designs for his products (She really needs to get paid for these side jobs). The awesome person that he his offers to doll Lichita up a little before she runs off to Alex's press conference.

Alex about said press conference but Don Augusto shares his overflowing levels to his son. Alex is happy that his dad has great plans for him and that they are spending more time together. Alex wants to share with his dad about his life in America. But of course Don Augusto is not really listening, he brushes Alex off and says another time.

Remaining Events are Combined.

. Nacho Family
Elsa walks by the place she wanted to rent and finds the sign removed. She thinks the worse, the place is sold and she lost her chance of opening up her own little shop. Nacho consoles her but thinks its for the best. Elsa is bummed the rest of the day with the news. Lichita is upset with her mother for not telling her but Nacho that they have enough bills/debts. Later Elsa gets a call from the seller asking her to pick up the keys and sign contract. She is very confused as to why the place is hers when she did not pay for it. Herself and Nacho go to the place immediately to investigate. The seller informs them that this is not a joke. A person who wishes to remain anonymous paid for the place. Elsa is super happy.

. Braulio and Brisa
Braulio bugs Brisa about moving out. She keeps asking for extensions but it does not look like she is interested in moving anytime soon. Brisa seems very good at guilt tripping him into giving her more time. For good measure, Brisa has a little rundown with the neighbor about recycling. Both are stubborn about their ways and end up fighting, organic compost and all.

. Luciana is just Mean.
Since Luciana has been a little absent and not as effective spreading her meanness. She barges in Daphne's room to make fun of her. She ridicules her for reading a book that contradicts her image (I did not catch what it was about). Luciana goes a step further to make sure Daphne knows she will be made fun of  and ridiculed at school because of her look.

Last Scene
Roberto is more nervous than Alex as he chugs back a glass of wine. He tells Alex to breath when he is the one who needs it more. Lichita slinks in like the invisible person she is trying not to be. Her face is lightly made up and she donned herself a gray dress that I guess is a half step better then her usual attire. Roberto immediately pounces on her (ok no not literally) saying she looks very nice. She cuts him off mid sentence to talk to Alex. She wants to know what's up with him. It sounds like Alex is about to tell but Chuchette interrupts that the conference has started. We have an off screen speech that must have went smoothly. Now to the Q&A session. There is talk of the commercial featuring a gay couple which Alex answers neutrally. Its controversial, they did what they set out to do. Whether good or bad they are being talked about. He also confirms that he will not stray for the traditional way that API has run in the past. Finally a reporter asks about his private life and rumors that he is gay. He does not answer the question and says that his private life is well private. The reporters continue to ask for an answer despite interruptions from both Chuchette and Roberto that this is not the point of their gathering. When it is clear that Alex will not answer, Lichita stands up and announces to everyone that she is his girlfriend.

Combined Scenes and Bullet Points

• Lichita explains to the audience that herself and Alex hid their relationship from everyone for many reasons. First due to their class difference and she was his assistant. The reporters are hungry for more answers and Don Augusto and Roberto have to step in ...operation Damage Control. Roberto is angry that Lichita moved right on to another guy. They have their same argument on how he thinks he is the only one who will look at her. In the end, Alex is quiet and does not seem too happy with Lichita.
• Luciana is in charge of the after party (or so it seems). The press asks her questions about her and Roberto relationship which she dodges. Once the news gets out about the mess between Alex and Lichita, Roberto cancels the after party. Both Luciana and Nestor (who overhears) are shocked with the news.
• There is another kind of party in Alex's room. Everyone reacts against the news of his relationship. All are angry at his choice of girlfriend except for Daphne and Valeria. Luciana is furious and Daphne breaks in its only because Luciana is interested in him. Alex is all like umm hello we are cousins. Anyway, the uninvited guests gets a little loud and Augusto shouts STOP. (Wow he even gets the background music to stop...impressive). Alex leaves everyone in his room to argue.
• The next day: Don Augusto turns a 180 and approves of the relationship...for now. The press like Lichita and it helped Alex's image. His father continues to poison his mind about how he should be wary of Lichita until he knows her true intentions. Alex finds Alex and wants to talk to her privately. He believes she made things worse and she apologizes profusely. It was the only thing she could come up with at the moment. If he wants they can gather another press conference to sort everything out. Alex for now wants to continue their game but he wants to know once and for all what is her price his. Lichita is shocked and states she did what she did only because they are friends and she knew that he did not want anyone to know his secret. Lichita admits to convincing him to run for the API position and yes she even thought about getting his trust so that he can support her here but she truly is not that kind of girl. Alex is not ready to let his mild hissyfit go because he does not believe her earnest confession and walks away.
• Mateo sees notices his dad and Luciana on the front cover of Cara's. He never knew that his dad had a girlfriend. He calls his dad in to talk about his girlfriend. Roberto tells him that its all gossip to sell the magazines. Roberto eventually tells Mateo that he does have someone who is special to him. Right now the only important thing is Mateo. 
• Luciana and Lichita get into a nasty fight. Lichita has had enough of Luciana's berating and brings up her past (the Duke). Lichita earns a slap for this and Luciana threatens that she will be fired.
• There is a reason for Ximena recent fatigue and abundance of homework. She started collecting money to do her classmates work and other odd jobs. The principal tells Lichita the the family's financial problems may be affecting Ximena. Ximena and Lichita have a heart to heart talk about her involvement in the family's problems. Ximena was just worried about her grandmother and her little shop. 
• Elsa little shop will be called "El Cafecito". 
• We end with Lichita taking Alex up on his offer. Since he will not believe her good intentions she might as well ask for what she wants. The next day we find that Lichita sitting in Luciana's office except it is not her office. She is the new creative director and will be handling Oki Oki Jinsei.
