Here's hoping Antonio survived.

¡Hola Sara!

So glad to have you back :-)

I can do Friday again.

Denise

You said it, Sara! Gracias for the post. I don't think I can commit to anything this week, but if that changes, I will claim a day. Right now I'm just determined to watch today's episode before I go out for the evening. I'll never be able to concentrate otherwise! :D

I can do today's.

Monday (very brief) Recap, 11/30/15:

Carmelo’s hitman shoots Antonio in the head and leaves him for dead. Sebastian finds him and wails over his BFF’s unconscious body. He calls Rafa and tells him they killed Rafa. Rafa calls Fidel and tells him Tonio is dead, with a gunshot to the head. Fidel runs out after sharing this shocking news with Edwina. Edwina calls Simon (who freshens himself up before taking her call), and tells him the news about Tonio. He’s very confused—Tonio is right next door at home. He goes to check and finds no one at home at Tonio’s place. He confirms with Chepe that Tonio left a while ago, alone. Simon gently tells Sara about Tonio.

Sebas continues to weep, and swears revenge on Tonio’s murderers. But Tonio is still ALIVE! Sebas drags him to and straps him into his car. He calls Rafa and tells him Tonio is alive and to call an ambulance. Along the road, Tonio seems to go into cardiac arrest. Sebas and Rafa meet up along the road, and then meet up with the police and the ambulance, where Tonio is transferred, with Sebas riding along. On the way to the hospital, Sebas gets calls from Sara and Natalia, and gives them updates. Sara and Simon rush to the hospital. Nati tells Isabel, and they rush to the hospital.

The news spreads quickly:
Carmelo’s hit man tells him the job is done and Tonio is dead.
Quintin calls Pepe to get Titina’s address to return her brother’s car, and tells him the news. Quintin later tells Titina and her eldest bro when he drops off the car.
Pepe tells Nelson and they both freak out. Nelson wants to fess up to the police, but Pepe warns him to get his family to safety first, THEN fess up to the police.
Anselmo tells Pedro an engineer was shot (doesn’t know which), and then smartly tells Pedro he suspects Carrmelo is behind it, because he’s the kind of guy who would stab you in the back.
Pedro calls Nelson, who doesn’t get why Pedro is calling him for info, when surely HE was the one who had Tonio shot. Pedro says he wouldn’t have asked if he was the culprit. Nelson is confused.
Sebas calls Uribe from the hospital.
Uribe goes to Tonio’s family’s house and tells Emma and Eduardo about their son. Emma blames La Vecina! Ed has some kind of blood pressure incident and nearly collapses. Uribe will ready the Conatrol helicopter to take them to San Gaspar ASAP.
Sara calls Padre Vicente and asks him to come to the hospital.

At the shooting site, Fidel and Quintin identify where the gunman had his motorcycle parked, where Tonio was shot, and find the bullet casing. They are sure the saqueadors are behind it. They don’t understand how Tonio was lured there and decide to interview Sebas and Isabel for more info.

Part 2:

In the hospital, Sara worries and cries about the well-being of the man she loves. While Isabel shows herself to be the true jerk she is. Sebas and Sara support each other and weep on each other’s shoulder. Natalia disappoints me by not calling her friend out on her horrible behavior, and by seeming to get jealous of Sebas’ attentions towards Sara. Not once does she hug Sebas and comfort him about the near death/attempted murder of his best friend. You know who does? Titina! She comes to the hospital and offers Sebas her condolences. Rafa helps Sebas hustle her out of the hospital quickly before Natalia realizes who she is and they start a scene.

Isabel, however, is not above making a scene. When the nurse comes out to ask for Tonio’s closest relation, Isabel claims that right over Sara and Sebas, as Tonio’s FIANCE. She then rattles off Tonio’s medical history since his teens, but it’s Sara who knows all about his recent illness, medications, and meals. Isabel then loudly claims that Sara is nothing but a whore and a pastime for Tonio, and that he only fell in with Sara because he was hurt when Isa broke up with him. But he begged her forgiveness, she forgave him, and they are back together. Sara doesn’t believe her. Nat stands behind Isa and doesn’t dispute her lies. They then flounce off to pout in another part of the hospital, while all of the people who really care about Tonio (Sara, Sebas, Simon, Bruno, Javi, Rafa, Juancho) pace in the waiting area. Isa makes all kinds of disparaging remarks about “these people” and why they are there.

During the operation to remove the bullet from Tonio’s head, it’s touch and go, and Tonio goes into cardiac arrest. After the operation, the nurse comes out to say the doctor is ready to give his update. But he’ll only give it to Isa, the fiancé. Ugh! Sara weeps and worries. Isa smugly makes her way to the doctor’s office. Sara sneaks off to try to hear the news, and it seems that Nat is about to follow her to make trouble. Sebastian stops her, and shames her into leaving Sara alone. Sara is listening through a crack in the door when she hears the doctor tell Isa that the surgery was delicate, and the pressure on Tonio’s brain meant that they had to induce a coma!

-Fin.

Typo: He calls Rafa and tells him they killed Tonio.

Vivi, gracias! Yes to the entire first paragraph of Part 2! At least he's not dead, but I'm still worried. I'm not going to be upset if Carmelo kills his would-be assassin for his ineptitude, even though...thanks for being inept, dude!

You're welcome, Kat. It's bothered me for a long time how Nat lets Isa get away with her hypocritical, jerkish behavior. But it particularly got to me this episode (yeah, she said once weakly that Isa could be nicer), especially when Nat didn't put all the foolishness aside to really be there for Sebas, who was in shock and was hurting. She came off as being really insensitive. She also seemed really obtuse about seeing and understanding how deeply Sara was affected by Tonio being shot. I was more annoyed by Nat than by Isa because she should know better.

I think Nat missed the part in the BFF handbook where it says that sometimes being supportive means telling your BFF that they're acting like a total ass. And giving her the look isn't going to cut it!

Thanks Vivi or the recap.
I only got to see the first, so far. So relieved Antonio is ok
Back later/ or tomorrow when I have a chance to comment

oh yah
Denise thanks for last Fri
Just got a chance to read
Great

thanks Vivi!

Although I knew he couldn't die they sure had me holding my breath at the beginning. Please writers no cliche amnesia.

And I hate how Isabel can claim that's she is still the fiancee. Glad Sara told her she wasn't buying her BS because the last thing Antonio told Sara was that he loved her. That shut Isa up. Good thing that Sebas, as the BFF, knows what's up and can fight in Sara's corner.

Yep Nat is letting herself be dragged down by Isa. Wonder what it will take for her to realize that Isa isn't sane when it comes to Tonio/Sara.

jlk

jlk, since you brought up amnesia...I do worry that if we go that direction, Antonio's going to end up getting dragged to the DF where everyone but his sister will try to mess with his head.

No, no, no! May your mouths turn into pork rinds! (It sounds better in Spanish.) Please, no amnesia. But I can totally see it, since Tonio never got around to making that public declaration of his feelings for Sara (and his lack of feelings for Isa), it would be really easy to steer him and his addled brain back to Isa and the D.F. That would make Isa, Emma, and Eduardo very happy.

Vivi, thanks so much for your great recap.

Now that you guys are mentioning the possibility of an amnesia direction, I'll bet you are right. Piensa mal, y acertarás, ha ha. (Think the worst and you'll be right!)

Denise

I can do today's
Just give me some typing time

La Vecina 12/1 the episode where Isa is a b___ch
Part 1
(I can hardly type I've got my fingers crossed and I'm hoping so hard Tonio doesn't get amnesia, if he forgets Sara I don't think I could take it)

Sara eavesdrops on the doctor telling Isa about Antonio's condition
He has a hematoma (bruise on his brain) They put him into a coma and are hoping the blood will be reabsrobed on its own
Sara bursts into the room and Isa reacts predictably
The doc takes Sara into the hall to talk to her. It sucks but as Tonio's official comprometida Isa gets the news, and to visit and Sara doesn't.

Pedro calls Ric - Somebody had Andrade shot, if I didn't do it, it must have been you,
Ric says he's not dumb enough to go against Pedro but he's not sad about Tonio dying.

Sebas gives Nata the talk we wanted to give her, - Just 'cause you're her friend you don't have to follow her when she's wrong.

Pedro has kidnapped some guy and is wringing info from him

Isa goes in to Tonio's room and b___ches at him about getting shot, luckily he's in a coma and can't hear her being horrible, hopefully.

Sara tells her gang the news - and the doc said there could be complications but not which kind (please no amnesia!!)

Part 2
Pedro tells the saqueador boss about Carmelo's dirty deeds and the consequences, they plot against Carmelo. Look out Carmelo

Padre V arrives and is supportive and awesome

Isa comes back into the waiting room and is a b__ch to Padre V and everybody else - 'oh so now you want Tonio to die, you've even brought a priest to do the last rites' ect.

Fidel needs Isa and Sebas' statements

The boss guy and Carmelo are plotting against Pedro together (I'm not seeing a lose here, either way one of the bad guys is going to get it)

Sebas tells Sara and the gang he's going w/Fidel and they should all go home and get some rest since nobody will tell them anything or let them see Tonio
Sara will stay
Simon will stay w/Sara

Isa is a b__ch to Fidel, even Nata looks ashamed of her

Sebas for some reason doesn't want Nata and Isa to know he's in the room nxt door, so he tries to change his room or check out of the hotel using the toilet is plugged as an excuse, but the hotel has no extra rooms and when he tries to check out the bill is sky high from dining Titina's bros in the hotel restaurant, so he's stuck there, he says ok I'll just put tampons in my nose to block the smell? (I swear that's what I heard, if I'm wrong sorry)

In the waiting room Simon has fallen asleep on Sara's shoulder, she moves him and sneaks off to get info. No fool she, Sara has learned her lesson, when the nurse asks if she's a relative of Tonio's Sara says yes, but all she gets is he's stable, so she sneaks off to "borrow" a nurse's uniform

Pedro tells Laura in the least sensitive way possible that Tonio is in the hospital - 'I'll pick you up later to visit the hospital, - Tonio is there, - No I got no idea how he is, just that he's hurt'
Laura tries to call Sara but can't get through and doesn't dare call the house

Nelson goes to Nacho for help and advice, he tells him his big secret. Nacho is appalled. Nelson says at first it didn't seem like a big deal, but now if Andrade dies its my fault.
Nacho chides Nelson and wants to tell Fidel right away, but Nelson tells him about the threats to his family and asks if he can borrow Nacho's Sonora house to hide them in. Poor Nelson so worried for his fam, poor Nacho, his wife is trying to take the Sonora house, he may not have it for much longer.

Part 3
Ema calls Nata - we're on our way need 2 rooms
Nata tells Isa, Isa is a b__ch -' you deal w/it'
Nata talks to reception, 'sorry we have no empty rooms (Hotel San Gaspar is doing well, I used to work in hospitality and no vacancies is a warm feeling that didn't happen often enough)
Nata calls Sebas since he has told her he is staying in another hotel nearby. He tells her this hotel is only 3 star, the pits not nice enough for them, tell 'em to stay in the Conatrol apt, there's room there.
Now Sebas has to warn Sara Tonio's parents are in town and to hide
He calls Sara but no answer, so he calls Simon ' get Sara out of there because Isa is a peach compared to Tonio's mom!'

Awww Sara is the cutest nurse ever! And convincing too, I didn't recognize her at first.
She tells Tonio he just has to get well, she loves him so much and all his buds are rooting for him
He moves? She asks for another sign but doesn't get one, - 'Its ok I know you can hear me, I love you you will be ok'
Ema comes in and actually recognizes Sara (I'm shocked, really, she only saw her like once, right?)
Ema calls security and gets Sara thrown out
Sara is in tears
Ema is emotional about somebody else for once

Carmelo is in a trap set by Pedro and the boss guy mwaahaaahaa

Marina calls Sebas and wants to know why he didn't tell her about Tonio, - he was too upset to think last night

Uribe tells Ric about Andrade and Ric pretends not to know
Uribe wants Ric to come to San G
Ric thinks this means he gets to take over the plant and is pleased (I'm just hoping it hastens his downfal)
Uribe calls Sebas - gotta tell the people at the plant

Pedro tells Carmelo the problem isn't morons its morons with initiative
Now you'll pay
Anselmo unsnaps his holster and takes Carmelo out
Carmelo is toast, a dead duck, kaput, we don't have to see it, but we hear the shot

Ema wants to send Sara to jail for impersonating a nurse. Simon hears this and tries to reason w/Ema, between Tonio's dad and sister they finally talk her down
Tonio's dad tells Simon to get Sara out of there so as not to antagonize Ema any more
Ema is an uberb__ch and blames Tonio's dad for his being there to be shot

Padre V has been praying for Tonio and gets a call from Merce so he has to tell her about Tonio

Ric calls Pedro and tells him the latest, Tonio is stable but still serious, and he, Ric will be the new boss in San G

Now that I've read all the comments I have even more to worry about
I had only thought of the heartbreak if he didn't remember Sara, I hadn't thought ahead far enough to think of him being taken back to the DF to have his head messed with
No Amnesia!
No Amnesia!
please

Thanks for your recap sneaky2shoes! Lovely title :) Enjoy those frowning wrinkles Isa from your constant "I smell poop" pout. (Although I am sure the actress is a really nice person who does smile in real life)

I was also surprised that Emma recognized Sara. Poor Sara. But I do think she does the best puppy dog eyes.

I'm stumped as well on why Sebastian doesn't want them to know he is at the same hotel. But glad he had that talk with Nat, hopefully it sticks.

And that whole Carmelo scene.....the way Pedro and other bad guy were waiting for him with Carmelo's man tied up, knowing he was caught.Lesson learned, don't betray Pedro.

Glad Nachito knows about Nelson. Yet I worry that info has a ways to go before reaching the right hands.

jlk

If Antonio gets amnesia, forgets Sara, and gets his head filled with nonsense I'm going to have to FF scenes. I could not stand seeing him back with Isa. (Yes I am always this optimistic :D)

jlk

jlk thanks

yep don't mess w/Pedro - trouble is you only get one chance, then kkkkrrrkkkk - or bang- you're dead
Now I'm worrying about Nelson

No Amnesia!
(if I say it enough it'll stick)

Awesome job, Sneaky! Both Isa and Emma make me want to throw things at the tv. Ugh! Why can't they both disappear?

Gracias, sneaky! I love your recap :D

"Sebas gives Nata the talk we wanted to give her." I was so happy with him for that. And then he lied about Titina. But he's distraught and doesn't want any more drama, so...nope I'm still annoyed.

"Luckily he's in a coma and can't hear her being horrible, hopefully." Is it wrong that I hope he wakes up and DOES remember it? Not that he wasn't breaking up with her already, but anything to make him super, really, totally, extra sure.

"Isa is a b__ch to Fidel, even Nata looks ashamed of her." I keep waiting for Natalia to start saying, "Uh, I don't know this woman. I was just standing here...."

"He says ok I'll just put tampons in my nose to block the smell" Ha! I have no idea if that's what he really said, but it sure sounds like him! I just remember him mumbling.

"Hotel San Gaspar is doing well, I used to work in hospitality and no vacancies is a warm feeling that didn't happen often enough" It makes me wonder if there's something going on in town or if the hotel's just THAT small that having two rooms taken by DF people is enough to fill it. I know, I know...it's all for purposes of the plot :) Seriously, though, it can't be the hick town the snobs act like it is if it has a hotel like this to begin with.

"Ema is emotional about somebody else for once" Shocking. I still want to kick her, though.

"Carmelo is toast, a dead duck, kaput, we don't have to see it, but we hear the shot" It's almost worse that we didn't see it happen. I don't know how many times I can say it, but Pedro is one frickin' scary dude!

Hi Sneaky! Loved this recap.
I'm hoping that Antonio does remember Isa's horrible words and ProSara's lovely ones. I think there's a good chance this happens because the writers seemed to make a point of showing that contrast.

Denise

You guys are probably right, he should hear what Isa said so he knows just how much she doesn't love him, but he's hurt, I only want him to hear nice things:( (yep, way to emotionally involved here)

__
"Seriously, though, it can't be the hick town the snobs act like it is if it has a hotel like this to begin with."
Diva, I get the idea that anyplace outside Mexico City is a hick town to those people, kinda like some people get about New York vs the rest of the US

I do not have an episode recorded for today, due to the live coverage from San Bernadino. Sending healing vibes.

Oh gosh. Just home and seeing the news. My recording is also the breaking new from CA this afternoon. Praying for all those folks and hoping the criminals are caught ASAP.

Since we don't have an episode to discuss today, I'll just go back to yesterday, and thank you again, Sneaky.

Yes, I was very happy Sabas said some of the things I wanted to say to Nat, and really wish it wasn't mixed up with lies about Titina and where he was staying. But really, who gets into all that petty crap with someone when their best friend is near death? It was tacky of Nat to be giving Sebas the third degree at a time like that.

I did have the urge to ask why none of the other characters cared about Sebastian's feelings. Dude's potentially losing his best friend and he's got to deal with all this drama.

I just tried to watch my recording and found out what happened in San Bernadino. I don't even know what to say about that except I wish safety and healing on all the people there

___

ok, going back to yesterday, thanks all

And is impersonating a nurse a crime? Even if you do a really good job and wear your hair back and the little hat and everything? Something that cute can't be illegal, can it? I just don't think Fidel would waste his time on this petty crap when he has an attempted murder to solve.

I vote if she'd done anything medical: crime. But since all she did was put on a uniform and she was in a restricted area, probably not. I'd love to see Ema go toe-to-toe with Fidel...would he tell her off? Would he pretend to do what she wanted and then roll his eyes once she's gone? Would he gently tell her that, as you said, he has an attempted murder to solve?

Maybe he'd make Quintin deal with her;)

____
Actually Sebas is dealing with this pretty well. Once he realized Tonio was alive he stopped the emotional displays and got down to the business of saving him, since then he's been pretty calm, maybe he's just holding it together till all the crisis' are over, in which case, Nata's stuff and Titina's stuff could be a welcome distraction from worrying about his best friend

Oh, my gosh, poor Quintin! I'm sure he'd rather be locked up for 24 hours like Fidel's always threatening!

La Vecina #116 Th 12/3/15

Today's lowlights:

Ema and Isa are determined to transfer Antonio to a "nicer" hospital (read: one far away from Sara) even though the doctor advises against it. Natalia and Antonio's dad just get dragged along in their wake. Marina tries a slight bit harder to get them to act like humans, but not by much. Sara even shows up at the hospital, once she hears about this plan, to try to bargain with them: she'll stay away if they don't do anything to put Antonio's life at risk. Isa goes into Antonio's room to gloat and Antonio opens his eyes, but it's not exactly in a good way. He goes into "crisis" and they need to do another surgery.

Pedro, of all people, provides all the comic relief this episode, by reminding Isa that he met her once before, at Las Margaritas…oh, wait, but it couldn't have been her, because THAT woman was with a date who wasn't Antonio. Don't they say we all have a double out there, hmmmmm? [Insert gloating recapper face here.]

Nacho passes up an opportunity to tell Fidel that Nelson is the mole, but he does end up telling Rafa late in the episode. Rafa doesn't take it well. Nacho really wants Nelson to turn himself in so he can ask for protection--which Nacho assumes he won't be able to do if he gets turned in by someone else. In other Nacho News, he wants to give the restaurant to his new assistant so his soon-to-be-ex can't get her hands on it.

Simon has a nightmare where the MASA committee members taunt him about not being able to launch the rocket. He wakes up calling for Edwina.

Sara passes Bruno's letter to Laura when she and Pedro come to the hospital.

Even the closing credit song is sad today. FIN

OK, the rocket dream sounds funny when I say it like that, but he was really terrified.

Just one more thing, I promise! Juancho was talking to Bruno because Edwina called looking for Simon (who was busy having his nightmare) and Bruno said she wasn't upset at him or anything. Juancho's assessment: it MUST be love, because if *his* girlfriend-or-whoever were ever to leave him stuck in a rocket, it would be OVER!

Thanks Diva! Yep the sad ending credit music captured the tone of the episode.

Although I did have favorite moments:
1. When Pedro made Isa uncomfortable about seeing her "double". His menacing personality was put to good use.

2. Padre V having no idea Antonio's parents were in the waiting room & talking loudly about them while being on the phone with Bruno. And then introducing himself as
Tonio's girlfriend's uncle to the doctor.

LOL the dream does sound funny typed out Diva

Yay! Rafa now knows about Nelson, we're making progress here people.

The less I say about Emma & Isa the better. I seriously can't with those two.

And it looks like Antonio has a long recovering...

jlk

Kat- Thanks so much for giving us an update of the sad happenings in San Gaspar. I have not watched this episode yet and will catch up this weekend. I'm bummed Emma and Isa are getting the chance to dominate and make decisions about Tonio's care and access to him.

Was this episode the one right after Tuesday's episode, since Wednesday's episode was preempted by the horrible shootings in CA across the country?

La Vecina, Friday, 12/04 Part 1 (Some scenes combined)

Sara is distraught her Tío Vicente tells her to allow Antonio’s family to endure their trial and their pain in peace. “What about my pain?” pleads Sara.
Vicente convinces her to leave the hospital, and she goes to the local “parroquia” to pray for Anto’s recovery as she remembers their wonderful most recent moments together.
Pedro is taking his leave from Anto’s family. He so sincerely wishes for the best outcome for Antonio. (Uh huh.)

We see the doctors operating on Antonio.

Pedro and Laura are dining at home. Pedro muses that Antonio’s prometida seemed to be lacking in the class department when she went after “la señorita Granados” the way she did. “Well,” he continues,”let’s hope that we hear some good news about Antonio’s condition very soon.” (That he dies!, Pedro thought bubbles.)

At the hospita, Sebas takes Nati aside and asks her “Why the war? “ He convinces her that they should go get a bite to eat and talk things out. She reluctantly agrees.
Oops, he needs to go to an ATM for some cash. “Be right back,” he says.

Slick Ric has just arrived at the airport and is talking on the phone to Pedro. They both chortle at the idea that Antonio’s death is imminent. In the next room, Laura reads Bruno’s love letter (Is she crazy!!!), savoring the loving words from her Romeo. She hears Pedro get off the phone, so she shoves the letter in Bruno’s plant. Pedro comes into the room and takes her by the hands. “Whoa, why are your hands all dirty?” he wants to know. “Um, I was just checking to see if the plant needed water yet,” Laura recovers quickly. They leave, but not before Pedro takes a lingering gander at Bruno’s plant. (Shiver)

Sebas is on his way to find an ATM, when he runs right into Titina in a hallway of the hospital. She has her priest in tow – el Padre Joaquín. Gulp.

Simón returns to his apartment where Bruno brings him current with the Sara / Antonio / Antonio’s family situation. Bruno has an idea how to get Sara back into the hospital: she can accompany him to his doctor’s appt.. Edwina rings the doorbell. She has stuff to show Simón - and some cohete merchandise too!

El Padre Joaquín doesn’t see why Sebas and Titi should be rushing this marriage so fast. Sebas couldn’t agree more. Titi’s eyes are “echando chispas” (giving off sparks). That’s settled then, the wedding won’t be for two more months. That will give the happy couple time to do their pre-matrimony classes, says the padre.

Edwina shows Simón a huge banner that says,”Nacho y cuatachos – apoyan el cohete de San Gaspar,” or STTE. There are also mugs and T-shirts.
Edwina offers to see to all of the cohete matters so that Simón can be with Sara during this trying time – “unless you don’t want me to, after that scene with my brother,” says Edw.
“I want you always to be by my side, and not just with the cohete,” Simón says, earnestly, approaching Edwina for the kiss that is finally going to happen...
IN OUR DREAMS because Juancho walks in with a “What’s up, Edwina?”

El Padre Joaquín excuses himself from the company of Sebas and Titina, admonishing Titina to moderate her temper. “Yes, Padre,” she says sweetly – until he is out of sight, at which point she lights into Sebas – “¡Lo hiciste
adrede!”(You did it on purpose!), she acuses.
Sebas: “Remember what the padre said – ‘Control your temper.’”

La Vecina, Friday Part 2

[Theme song – Hmm hmm hmm hmm]
Wait a cotton-picken’ minute. They shortened the song. Can they do that?!

Isa and Nati are still in the waiting room at the Hospital San Gaspar. Ric walks in.
“I can just imagine how you must be feeling,” he offers to Isa. (Isa cara de not buying it.)

Bruno rescues a jubilant Sara from her sentence at the parroquia. He will give her cover to be at the hospital near Antonio.

Ric assures Uribe that he is there for him and that he will soldier on in Antonio’s place. Sebas approaches Nati and says that they can go get that bite to eat now, but Nati icely tells him that he took so long she has now lost her appetite.

Bruno goes off to see what he can acertain, leaving Sara in the hallway of the hospital. Antonio’s surgeon serendipitously comes out of a door, and Sara calls to him. How is Antonio? The doctor says that the operation was a success “surgically.”
What does he mean? The consequences of his crisis are unknown at this time. The next few hours are critical. The doctor has ordered a “tomografía.”
“Would it have been better to transfer him (to the D.F)?” Sara asks.
“Absolutely not,” Is the doctor’s answer. “If the crisis had happened on the way, he very well could have died. In fact, I told his relatives to not do it.” (Sara cara de Oh.My.God.)

Ema is pithed. She saw Sara talking to the “irresponsible excuse of a doctor.” Call security! Report the doctor to the director of the hospital!
Isa excuses herself to the “baño.” In reality she signals to Ric to follow her to a hallway where she can tell him that she wants that vecina DEAD. “Set your price – I’ll pay it!”

Bruno hobbles back to Sara in another hallway. “Let’s get out of here. Some vieja saw you with the doctor, and she’s going ballistic!” They hurry off to Bruno’s appt. where Sara’s presence will be less obvious.

Ema is reporting Sara’s presence, and her illicit conversation with the doctor, to someone who I presume to be the director. He is so sorry, but the “política” (policy) of the hospital is to allow free access to all.
“You are all a ‘bola de ineptos’!” (bunch of incompetants) spews Ema.

Family scene with Simón and Juancho. Juancho wants to borrow Simón’s vehicle to pick up more cohete merchandise, I think, and then Edwina offer him the use of her car. Simón warns her that Juancho is just barely learning to drive.
“Hey! I’ve hardly dented your car at all!” jokes Juancho. Merce arrives and expresses her desire that everything turns out okay for Antonio.

Sara and Bruno are waiting for Bruno to be seen. Sara can’t stop thinking about the effects that Anto may suffer from all of the trauma.
“What if he gets amnesia?” suggests Bruno.
“Just so he doesn’t forget ME,” Sara says.
“No chance. You’re in his heart, not his brain,” Bruno reassures her.
The doctor comes in to attend to Bruno, complaining about some “Chilangos” (D.F.’ers) who think they own the hospital. “They wanted to forbid access to a person they didn’t like. I told them to resolve their personal problems outside of the hospital,” he says. Sara and Bruno smile knowingly.

La Vecina, Friday Part 3

Laura answers a call from Cheo. Pedro takes it. Cheo has been waiting for Pedro to show up to their meeting. Pedro has “forgotten.” He’ll call Cheo when he has time. Roque advises Cheo to give up on Pedro’s help with Cheo’s financial problem.

Merce has brought half the market to Simón’s house. Juancho says that his Mom’s cooking is the only thing he misses about Progreso. Simón tells Merce about how Anto’s mom has denied their whole family access to Antonio.

The “peritaje” (investigation by experts) has been completed at El Molcajete. The technician gives Quintín a pile of mail that was strewn about the restaurant.

Slick Ric is reassuring Eduardo et al. that everything is going to turn out peachy. How he would presume to know this, he doesn’t say.
Fidel enters and Rafa introduces him to Eduardo, who implores Fidel to find the agressors and make them pay for what they have done to his son. Eduardo takes a call from el Sr. Arango.

Simón, Edwina and Juancho are saying goodbye to Merce as they are off to deliver the big banner. Merce asks how the cohete project is going and Simón answers that Rome wasn’t built in a day. She says “Ha ha. That’s what you always said to Mom when we were kids.”
Edwina: “I’ll bet he was an ‘inquieto’” (a hyper one).
Simón: “No le ‘dé cuerda’ (Don’t get her going), or we’ll never get out of here!”
After they leave, Merce muses, “I’d like her for a sister-in-law.”
Merce answers a call from Laura who informs Merce that Anto’s surgery went well, and could she tell Sara?
Merce calls Simón and gives him this news.

Rafa and Fidel, still at the hospital, are discussing the case of the saqueadores. Rafa thinks to himself that this is the time to speak up about Nelson’s involvement, but he is interrupted by a call from Quintín to Fidel to tell him about the “anónimo” that was found at the scene of the explosion.

Laura is still trying to locate Sara – this time at the parroquia. Vicente doesn’t know where she is. He’ll pass on the message.
Laura gets a call from Carmelo’s wife. Has Pedro seen him? He said he was going to see Pedro last she knew. Nope. Pedro hasn’t seen him for days. Pedro thinks to himself: “So Andrade is still hanging on, but Carmelo’s gone. No doubt about it. ‘Cuando te toca, te toca.’(When it’s your time, it’s your time).”

Quintín and Fidel are at El Molcajete discussing the anónimo. Fidel says that this indicates that the perps have a traitor among them. The two men decide that Cheo needs to be interrogated, as he is the only one that Sara said had been upset with her recently.

Ema greets Antonio’s doctor with a vile diatribe about his supposed ineptness and his probable illicit relationship with that “tipeja” (slut) to whom he revealed all of her son’s information. “It doesn’t matter what this guy says. They’ll tell us how Antonio is in “México.” We’ll take him now please.”
Doctor: “That is not going to happen. Not even at your own risk.” (Phew)

Sara and Bruno arrive back at the parroquia. Bruno is good to go for the next partido. They are all concerned about the next few hours for Antonio etc..

Scene in the cafeteria of the hospital wherein Ema annoys the heck out of Mariana, Natalia and Isabel in that order.

Eduardo is with Antonio, begging him to remember how strong he is, how he never gives up, how he’s always been a warrior. Don’t give up now, Son.
( And we’ve got tears to wipe away again.)

Cue the music.

fantastico Denise

I can see what is going to happen, when Antonio comes to, he is going to call out Sara's name, I hope Ema & Isa are present for that + a couple of good guys for witnesses.

Thanks, Variopinta :-)

Since Bruno already brought up the possibility of amnesia, I'm thinking that we can be pretty sure that the writers aren't going to use amnesia as a shocker plot element at this point. So you could definitely be right.

Fantastic, Denise! Thank you so much.

I just watched the last two episodes. Whew boy! Isa and Emma make me want to invest in duct tape. Can anyone make these two SHUT UP?!

For the very first time I liked Pedro, when he made Isa sweat and shut up by slyly letting her know he'd seen her during one of her little trysts with Ric. I want to see him do more of that. :)

Still don't understand why Nat is letting Isa continue to be so hateful unchecked, while at the same time not acknowledging how hard all of this is for Sebas. She's losing all the points she gained with me in the aftermath of Sebas cheating.

Loved Simon and Edwina. We are getting closer to a first kiss. Woohoo!

Thanks for commenting Vivi!

ITA, it was fun to see Isa squirm for once.

I expected Sara to bring up to Bruno the fact that Antonio's family, well Ema really, put his life at risk in a situation where he is so vulnerable.

Diva thanks for recapping Thursday, just read it, can't say I really watched the whole epi, I was getting so upset about it I had to look at something else for a while

Thank you Denise for Friday's recap and vocab too wow! I'm always in awe of people who can put vocab in their recaps.

I know this kinda makes me a bad person but I really kinda wanted to kill Ema when she told everybody that the doc had authorized moving Antonio. She's his mother! Doesn't she care about him at all? Uungh!

I fully hope/expect Sara will let the rest of Antonio's fam know Ema lied to them about it being safe to move him Monday. She better.

On to happier topics:
I loved the Titina's Padre siding w/Chebi - made me do my evil chuckle. She's not dissuaded though, the girl is irrepressible, and I kinda like that, even though I'm rooting for Sebas

Also really liked the covo between Sara and Bruno about Tonio maybe getting amnesia, somehow it reassured me, I think Denise is right and the writers are letting us know we don't have to worry about that.
ProtaSara was so cute when she was thinking aloud about who she'd like Tonio to forget:P

Yeah, that conversation between Sara and Bruno was definitely a wink and a smile from the writers telling us not to worry about an amnesia storyline. :)

Gracias, Denise! I'm finally getting a chance to read this and it sweetened my Monday morning :)

"In the next room, Laura reads Bruno’s love letter (Is she crazy!!!)" I had the same thought. I mean, wait until he's out of the house at least, or don't read it IN the house, or something!

"She has stuff to show Simón - and some cohete merchandise too!" Hee hee, oh yeah, baby!

Ay, Juancho...less annoying than he used to be, but he still has a lot to learn.

"After they leave, Merce muses, 'I’d like her for a sister-in-law.'" Yep, sounds like a done deal to me!

I loved both doctors shutting Ema down this episode. Especially the neurosurgeon putting his foot down this time about not moving Antonio.

I know Emma isn't some evil villain, but I kind of feel she deserves to lose any kind of relationship with Antonio after this. She kept the fact that his fiance was cheating on him from him, all so SHE could have more money to spend on frivolous things like a new car. And then she risked his LIFE forcing his transfer to a D.F. hospital, just because she didn't want Sara anywhere near him. What the hell kind of mother is she?

Thanks so much for your feedback, Diva!

Vivi - I know,right?

Denise
