Antes Muerta que Lichita #66 Friday 12/25/15 The honeymoon is shortened... The new competitor coffee shop steals customers... and Alicia, Braulio and Brisa have a very very bad day.
New admin lady at the orphanage tells Roberto from behind door that Mateo was taken from the home. Mateo was already adopted by a couple. Roberto is in disbelief. Wants to confirm it with his own eyes. Door opens and you can see the scared face of Roberto walking in… he runs to Mateo’s bed to see it empty and made up.
Ximena asks Nacho if the clients will come back… Nacho tries to comfort her lying that the people at the coffee shop across the street are just letting the clients try their coffee. Elsa is upset, what are we going to do? Magos can only whine (cry over water past the bridge).
Magos gets a call from a guy that we don’t know yet… well, turns out he is the guy from the collections company trying to get her to pay the credit card.
Roberto finds some stair steps to sit and cry…
Lichita and Sandra are still at their conversation. Sandra has another heat flash of her meno… Lichita offers to drive Sandra home… Sandra is a bit rough questioning if she means to come in the public bus (pesero) or taxi… Lichita says no, in the company car she has.
Elsa can’t stand the curiosity, wants to taste/try the coffee from across the street to see if it is truly better than hers.
The admin lady assures Roberto that Mateo’s adoption was legal… He doubts it, he says they can’t take his parental rights… The lady assures him it is a done deal. Roberto says we’ll see about that.
At the car, Roberto tells Luciana that they took his son away. Luciana still is not taking him very seriously, asks if he is feverish, then wants him to come to the house to rest… he just walks away and sends her to the house. Luciana comments that she thinks he is delirious.
Luciana is driving Sandra home, is driving pretty pretty slow… gets people to drive around her… she yells at another driver… Sandra is probably sure this is her last ‘ride’ with Lichita.
At the house, Rafa and Val are questioning Bea for running out on her psychologist appointment. Bea would rather talk to her confessor/priest about her worries/woes. Then Luciana comes home and Valeria turns her attention to her asking questions about where Roberto is.
Roberto and Gumaro meet. Apparently Roberto is at the Vidal couple (Marta’s), since Roberto thinks they were the ones that adopted Mateo… Gumaro says if they have him they won’t hurt him. Roberto then wonders if they don’t have him, what if it is other people?
Luciana tells parents she got bored with beach… (really??) She says her husband is workaholic… and he had to come back directly to the API… Valeria leaves toward kitchen, Rafa asks Luciana for the truth, why did they come back earlier. Luciana is not ready to give details, so walks away on him.
Magos is still on phone with the guy from collection company. Ximena has to deal with a potential client but when he sees it is Ximena trying to serve him while Magos is on cell phone, he leaves miffed.
Magos still not willing to pay.
Nacho and Elsa come back… she says coffee is not bad but the prices are still mysterious… Some other potential clients come… since they see Nacho and Elsa have cups from the other business, they go over there. Elsa is lamenting their luck.
At office, Augustus visits Alicia in her office… with excuse to ask how the Oki Oki ginseng campaign is going. Alicia says they are practically ready to launch the campaign. Augustus tells her that he helped get some more time from the client saying campaigns for latin America take longer than just for Mexico.
Braulio and Brisa are still trying to work… seems they already did their ‘exercise’. She says it helps them work better… they keep kissing and sweet talking… and disappear below desk… again… (very productive, huh?)
Roberto and Gumaro are with his lawyer… Roberto is very demanding of the lawyer he wants info about the Vidal’s whereabouts… Lawyer says can’t do things this fast, we don’t even know it was them who have him… Roberto says find them NOW!!
Augustus and Alicia end up talking about Roberto. Augustus asks if she still has some relationship with Roberto. She asks why he wants details about her personal life. He just wants to know if she has plans to get into a new relationship. She assures him what matters now is her family and her work. She wants to head home… Augustus has one more question… your return to the business was an agreement between the two of us… he is sure that this decision he made will bring good fruits for Iconika very soon. Augustus leaves, Fatima comes in, asking what he was doing here… Alicia tells us not even she knows.
Roberto and lawyer are still yelling at each other. Lawyer says Roberto has made mistake over mistake. Who in their right mind would kidnap his own child while he is trying to qualify to get his custody?? Roberto keeps yelling so lawyer basically quits and walks away on a very angry Roberto.
Fatima tells Alicia that Augustus normally doesn’t visit any employee in their office… Alicia says she still has to get that new campaign customer she agreed to get for him and she wants a client that will support the autism foundation. Fatima does say she is very happy that Alicia is excited and committed to supporting the autism nonprofit. Fatima is very happy to see that the real Alicia is surfacing over the apparently cold and harsh woman who came.
Sandra and Elias in her apartment, she has told him about her conversation with Alicia then wants him to leave… he would rather cook for her… He keeps reminding her about good times they used to have. Then he casually asks her how that Iconika USA organization is going. She says Augustus has not even started it, which Elias finds very odd.
Gumaro asks Roberto if he didn’t mess up again in firing the lawyer… Roberto puts an arm around him and says he is glad Gumaro is there for him, otherwise he would go crazy.
Augustus talks to his bodyguard about Alicia, considers her a target animal who you need to work on trapping… he plays with his gun asking if Alicia is an easy catch or does he need to work more to get her. HE tells Drako that the fact that he does not know how to go about Alicia drives him crazy… but she sill be his…
Alicia invites Fatima and Claudio to the coffee shop of her parents. Fatima is grateful but warns her that interacting with her grandson could be very pleasant but could also be a very trying experience for someone who does not know much about their condition.
Alicia has caught up with her parents, Ximena and Magos at the coffee shop… They want Magos to take Ximena home… Ximena complains that they never want her around when they talk important things…
At dinner table with Rafa, Bea, Augustus and Valeria, Roberto assures everyone that they needed to come back due to his work at API… Augustus agrees that the role takes his time. Rafa and Valeria are more wondering how much time Roberto will have for his marriage. Luciana is in cloud nine talking about how much Roberto and her love each other.
Alicia tries to reassure her parents about the coffee shop competition. Alicia says they can also make some improvements in the place to attract clients…
At the house Magos is watching the Maria Bonita novella… Ximena is packing her backpack and is making faces like she does not understand what is going on the novella story. Then Ximena and Magos talk about the legal charges that Magos still hopes will go on the CHanclas and not her.
Roberto thanks Luciana for covering for him in front of her family… She says that’s what a wife would do, but she still does not understand the deal with his ‘son/nephew’. He brought her to meet him and it turns out he was not where he should be. She wonders if Roberto is going nuts about the kid and the story is fake. Roberto assures her that it is true, that Mateo is his son… and explains that Mateo’s mom left him there when he was little… Roberto finds it very difficult to tell Luciana about this… he just wants her to believe that he has a son. Luciana still wants to get rolling in the sheets… and he keeps giving the excuse he is not in the mood…
At coffee shop, Nacho wants to close for the day even if it is still not closing time. Some young guys come and order coffees. The young men say it is very nice to go to a ‘mom and pop’ coffee shop and not to the big international chains… they like the authenticity of local family businesses. (nice!)
Roberto is having nightmares and yells ‘No!!” Luciana wakes him up. HE was having a dream. She asks him not to yell at her like that anymore. Again she tries to get him in the mood…. But then complains that her burns are still stinging.
At the office, Alicia likes what she sees of the campaign Braulio and Brisa were working on. Brisa comments that they found ‘the right method/process’. Alicia leaves… Braulio says he has something to do and leaves her alone a few minutes. She starts exporting/backing up the work they did… However, when she goes to unplug something, she pulls the wrong plug and the work they just were transferring from the campaign is damaged/lost. She panics.
Ximena is talking about her lunch sandwich with friends at school. It is a commercial for Bimbo whole wheat bread.
Sandra and Elias in her office, she is dictating about some campaigns she wants him to work on while she is gone… He wants more info on her plans when she goes to the US. She wonders why the interest. Elias tells her that apparently there is already a Iconika USA… so if she was planning to get it started with Augustus, that can’t happen.
Sandra goes to Augustus office, he was on phone… he hangs up and asks her what she wants. She is excited to get him to talk about the projects they have for the USA location. He is very suspicious about her interest… he asks her what is she after.
Braulio and Brisa are arguing, since he now has found out she lost their work. They have an hour before it is due. HE is very doubtful they can redo everything they did the whole night in just one hour. Brisa tells him stop whining and start working… you can do it… just get going.
Sandra questions Augustus intent to keep the expansion plans for Iconika in secret when it should be something everyone should be celebrating. Augustus says the USA company will be independent and not a subsidiary of the mexico company. He says that is the only way to separate from Bea’s interests. Fatima comes in to tell him the Bisaboritos campaign meeting is about to begin.
Sandra questions his intent to be present in the meeting about a ‘minor’ campaign. He says there lies the greatness of a Leader, knowing when to step in.
The people including Sandra, Augustus and Alicia are in conference room… they are waiting and Braulio tells Alicia in her ear what happened… so Alicia and Braulio are leading a reminiscing of previous campaigns for Bisaboritos… Alicia tells the clients they need a bit more time for creating a whole new campaign. The clients are not happy about the delay. In comes Brisa to confess they are not ready for the campaign and that it was her fault. The client guy stands up angry and leaves. Sandra is ready to sign Alicia’s termination letter, but Augustus just stands up and says ‘oh well, sometimes you lose and sometimes you win’. Sandra is shocked (rather ready for someone to sweep her jaw off the floor).
Roberto is at the Vidal household and the maid tells him and Miss Venus who is with him, the maid tells them that the couple left with a young boy, apparently the one they had adopted.
Augustus tells Alicia that this should be a lesson for her… and that she should fire Brisa immediately.

I appreciated the fact that Luciana had enough self control to at least to keep up a front and not tell the family the truth about why they came back early from their failed honeymoon. She never gave up in bed either wanting "to light the Olympic torch." Very funny.
Looks like Roberto has a bigger problem than he ever imagined with the Vidals away and incommunicado and no lawyer. Could it be just a coincidence that the Vidals are away with a newly adopted child? Does anyone think they may have adopted another child and this is all a coincidence?
Augusto was creepy talking about Alicia as if she were prey with that gun in his hand.
Can't wait for the next episode.

After such a great start I'm not sympathetic to Roberto at all. All he does is sulk and rant.
Sandra was correct in her fear Alicia her replacement but wrong attacking Alicia for it. Wonder if Sandra and Alicia realize at the same time who Augusto really wants.

Looks like Alicia was thinking up some ideas for Elsa's cafe, when those two hipster guys talked about how authentic it is, and not generic like People's Cafe. If she can come up with ways to make dog food sound amazing, I'm sure she can come up with a campaign to bring customers into her parents' cafe.

I'm so grateful Marta---Thank you, you have answered or brought light into a few dark blind spots such as why Agusto was playing with the gun.
So cave man Agusto is on the hunt with the intent of trapping/conquering Alicia.
Conquer her, drag her into the cave/hotel/bedroom? Just another conquest? It does seem like Sandra is about to be traded for a younger model. I see fireworks when Sandra puts two and two together.
Did the Vidal's get custody of Mateo? Not sure but whoever it is, Agusto has to be behind it all. Leverage to keep Roberto in line. Be good Roberto and I'll see what I can do.
I don't know how things are going to shape up but I can see Alicia doing a big part
in helping the family business become very successful. I myself prefer a family run business over a big chain store run operation any day. A few years ago I found myself staying overnight in Sedona Az. In the morning I started thinking about breakfast. There were the usual chain store restaurants and burger places. I went to a place that was very popular with the locals and had a terrific breakfast. Local family places tend to put love and pride into their operations. More often than not, they're the best.
