Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse #86 Friday, 12-25-15 (Mex 120) Pedro in the Cross Hairs and Vitto Lays a Goose Egg

Hope everyone had a Buon Natale!  Merry Christmas!  Feliz Navidad!  Ciao, Patio Peeps!  Well, let's see how Fifi was able to get her delicate little foot out of her mouth after carrying on to Eloisa how beautiful Pedro's Mother's (Pilar) villa is.  Well, when she first got there she was so taken with the beauty of El Rancho she told Fidel there couldn't be a more beautiful place on earth.  Fidel then showed her pictures and she was all like, "well, shut my mouth!  This place IS more beautiful than El Rancho!"  Fidel also shared that Eloisa hardly goes there anymore.  Eloisa appears to buy it and hears the racket from the wild party as she is about to leave Fiorella's room.

We catch up with Benito in the darkened kitchen of the employee's quarters, sitting on the floor killing a bottle of tequila.  Gianna finds him and sits down next to him.  Benito thinks he's an idiot, Gianna thinks Roxi really loves him but was overwhelmed with everyone watching.  Benni wonders whats eating her.  Gianna whines that Gael got high right in her face!  Benni concludes they have both made terrible choices in love and offers her his back-wash filled bottle of tequila.

In the Big House at El Rancho the party is going full blast!  Gael wants to find Roxi but she convinces him to forget the little Italian gata.  Roxi and Gael jump up and down which passes for dancing when you're high on being Roxi and street drugs, respectively.  Granny and Eloisa enter the madness and Granny calls out "What is all of this?"  Roxi answers, "A Party!"  Eloisa is about to call a halt to the shenanigans but sees Freddie and Dante walk in and ask the same question.  This time, Eloisa answers "It's a PAR-TAY!!  EVERYBODY SHAKE YOUR BOOTIES!"  And she begins to break it down with the best of them.  Freddie and Dante exchange glances while Fiorella tries to get Eloisa to leave.

Whew.  It's hard work plotting to take over a company.  Assvaldo, Sonia, Aitana and Benigno relax and plot their next move:  eliminate Pedro!  Sonia argues vigorously that killing Pedro is excessive and risky.  Assvaldo counters that Pedro is in their way AND he plans to go to have Benigno investigated.  Benigno assures Sonia they'll be careful.  Assvaldo says she knew things could go this far when they joined in on the swindle, well the time has come!  Sonia tries another approach, he is Assvaldo's cousin and yes, he needs to be gotten out of the say but he doesn't deserve to die.  Aitana pipes up:  Oh yes, he deserves to die, not only is he obstacle to their plans for ACorp, but he made her suffer the worst humiliation of her entire life!  "That's why I want him to die.  I want him to die!"  Assvaldo assures them all Pedro WILL die:  they'll be careful and ingenious and make it look like an accident!  Muwah muwah MUWHAHAHAHAHAHA!  Sonia looks quietly horrified while Benigno adds that he knows someone who can do the job with deadly ease!

Eloisa is still getting jiggy wit' it on the dance floor.  Freddie remarks to Dante that the old girl is REALLY off her rocker.  Dante remarks that he has never seen Eloisa so exuberant!  Whatever, Freddie is like, when she crosses over to that Big Ranch in the Sky they can do whatever the hell they want.  Fiorella finally gets  Eloisa to go upstairs.  "My Grandma's finally going nuts!  Bye, crazy lady!" shouts Roxi and she continues to rock out with Gael, who looks a little green around the gills.

Sergio is on his bed with head phones doing his own rocking when a drunk chick from the party staggers into the room.  Sergio is struck with that novela malady where otherwise strong and able men are unable to extricate themselves from the clutches of females.  Even drunk ones.  So Julia walks into the bedroom, sees Sergio and drunk chick on the bed and goes ballistic and flounces off. declaring she doesn't want to hear anything he has to say!

Fiorella has helped Eloisa to her room.  Eloisa still wants to boogey and accuses Fiorella of being jealous of her because there were several boys who wanted to dance with her!  Fiorella can't help but chuckle at this.  Fiorella offers to introduce Eloisa to a boy if that's what she wants, but now it's time for bed.  Eloisa finally agrees to settle down.

Several girls try to convince Gael to forget his little girlfriend and party with them when Roxi take to the stairs to start Karaoke when Pedro and Fidel return and throw everybody out.  Roxi and Gael escape.

Benito is still crying in his tequila with Gianna who finally drags his arse out of the bottle.  Benni continues to beat up on himself for being an idiot and trying to hook up with somebody outside his social class.  Gianna thinks social class doesn't matter.  Roxi did what she did because he's heartless and evil, not because she's rich.  Benni thinks their class is decent and asks Gianna if she would ever humiliate him the way Roxi did.   No, of course not.  Benni's a swell guy that any girl would be proud to love.  Benni leans in to punctuate her statement with a smooch.  Gianna jumps up, indignant! Bennie starts stammering apologizes.

In Roxi's room, Roxi pooh poohs Pedro's ire and then she and Gael begin to argue about whether she loves Benni.  She's going to stay free and not marry anyone!  Gael tells Roxi she owes him an apology.  Roxi is not in the mood for Gael's sanctimonious lectures and shuts his mouth with a kiss.  Just what I want to see.  Deep kisses between an Aunt and Nephew --NOT!

All this time and Eloisa is just now in bed--with all her clothes on!  How uncomfy that must be!  Anywho, Fiorella finally leaves the room and is met at the door by Pedro who warmly embraces her and kisses her on her ear.  Fiorella shares that she's worried about Eloisa.  She describes her behavior at the party and that she discovered that Eloisa is preparing a will which names Freddie as her sole heir.  Eloisa lies still in bed taking in every word and watching through her ever so slightly open eyelids.

Not sure if they're at ACorp or the study at the Rancho but poor, duped Pedro plans strategy with Assvaldo.  Pedro wants to throw Benigno out of the company while the managers and stockholders mount an investigation while Assvaldo argues they need proof first.  Assvaldo tells Pedro he's nearly closed a deal with the Japanese.  Now, let's assume this almost closed deal with the Japanese is real.  Pedro says the timing on closing this deal is absolutely terrible as the explosive news about their partner committing fraud against the company is about to break!  It'll be disastrous for the company and the family:  they'll lose EVERYTHING!  Pedro concludes they have to be VERY careful moving forward!  (You guys know me and business stuff.  Did I miss something here?)

Fiorella counsels Gianna not to be so hard on Gael; to support him, not judge him nor try to be his police!  Gianna thinks maybe she should talk to Gael's psychologist.  Benito enters the kitchen and tells Fifi she has a package from Italy!  She leaves, Benito sits down with Gianna and asks her forgiveness for the kiss last night.  She accepts.  They're friends again.

Simoneta and Quina set the table.  Simoneta gripes about getting no sleep because of the wild party but having to get up early to clean up the mess.  She takes several truthful pot shots at Roxi and Quina defends Roxi at every turn.  Quina takes off to go runs errands and leaves.  Sergio enters the dining room and asks where Julieta is.  Just then she enters and gives Sergio the stink eye.

It's morning at Diana's.  Anibal and Ramiro talk about setting up a dummy company, Carnes Frias y Embutidos del Norte; Cold Meat from the North.   This dummy company is part of the "clean out Vittorio Dragone" scheme.  Diana protests the whole plan is risky and she'll be the first suspect!  Anibal shoos her out the door.  Beto is with her mother and she needs to go to work precisely to avoid suspicion.  [Embutido (Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese), enchido (European Portuguese) or embotit (Catalan) is one of the many varieties of cured, dry sausages found in the cuisines of Iberia and the former Spanish and Portuguese colonies. --Wikipedia]

Sergio successfully explains the drunk chick in his bed.  Julieta believes him.  Mutual declarations of love and smoochies ensue.

Gael catches up with Roxi in the foyer of the Rancho and makes sure she understands the kiss meant nothing but that she won't tell Gianna about it.  He also tells her about the drug dealer at the party having slipped him a mickey.  Roxi says she doesn't know how he got in, she didn't invite him.

Freddie continues to check Eloisa's mental status by asking her about the wild party and asking if she had fun.  Eloisa claims not to know what party she's talking about: there is no way she would let Roxi have a party and then dance at it!  Freddie gets a smug and faraway look.  Freddie goes off to give instructions to Simoneta about Eloisa's breakfast.  Pedro comes in and kneels beside Eloisa at her vanity.  He asks about the will and leaving everything to Freddie.  No way, goes Eloisa!  Pedro must not know her very well!  Eloisa's ready to go down for breakfast!

Wow.  Sonia is still pleading for Pedro's life, now alone with Assvaldo in their bedroom.  She still thinks it's crazy, he still sees it as necessary to stop Pedro.  If they don't, he will keep investigating and won't stop until he implicates them all!   Pedro needs to be out of the way because he's got some important business pending with the Japanese.  Sonia is afraid but Assvaldo is confident:  with Pedro out of the way, he will be the Master of Everything!  They'll take advantage of Eloisa's dementia and be in charge of the entire company AND the inheritance!  "Do you know what that means?  That means we'll be able to do whatever the hell we want!  Isn't that what you want?"  Sonia says yes, but her face still looks uneasy.

Over at LDV Vitto sits at his desk and is own the web page of his bank acoout.  OMG!  It's full of goose eggs, zeros, nada, he's been robbed!!  Diana looks sick.

Gael makes his way over to the EQ kitchen right after Simoneta and Benito go out to serve breakfast.  Gael finds an understanding Gianna when he explains the creep who slipped drugs into his drink.  She easily accepts his explanation and then asks him to forgive her for doubting him and not being supportive.  She mentions having called his psychologist and making an appointment.  He is grateful and touched and will keep the appointment.

Fiorella sits on her bed looking at photographs.  She smiles and sighs as she flips through them.  There is a color photograph of a little girl who looks to be between eight and ten years old; a  color photograph of a young woman, maybe late teens; a black and white photograph of a young couple in which the woman looks like Fiorella and then a color photo of a woman carrying a birthday cake that seems to have two candles, a 3 and a 4.  The back of the picture has handwriting that says "Silvana" and "Enero 1991."  (January, 1991).

The Angeles are gathering for breakfast.  Roxi, Assvaldo, Sonia, Freddie and Gael are there as are Sergio and Julieta.  Roxi talks proudly about her "epic" party and mocks Eloisa's "ridiculous" efforts at dancing.  What can one expect at her age, she scoffs.  Pedro comes in with Eloisa.  Eloisa greets Julieta warmly.  Pedro gets a call and takes his seat.  It's Fiorella.  She's just gotten a package from her hometown, Maratea, and she wonders if he can break away for a minute so she can share it with him.  Pedro excuses himself with the pretext of having to check on something in the stables.  Eloisa quips it's too bad Pedro will miss what she's going to say.  Eloisa asks Roxi about her party, did she have a good time?  Eloisa sure did and hopes Roxi did as well.  Roxi affirms that she did indeed have a good time.  Eloisa answers,

"I'm glad you enjoyed it because it's the last thing you'll do in this ranch!  Get out and I don't want to see you around here any more!"  Roxi is gobsmacked silent!

Well, Rox, too bad you humiliated the boyfriend who has both a source of income and kindhearted parents possessed of a spare bedroom.

Awww, thank you, Lila! I was not expecting a recap so soon :D I'm looking forward to a fun read with my morning coffee.

Good morning, Lila. Gee, this was just great. Thanks to you and 5ft for keeping this thing alive, and for both of your insights and snark.

I'm enjoying El toying with the young'ens. She is finding stuff out in her role as a demented old person that she never could have as the crotchety old granny. I am glad that she has thrown Roxi off the ranch, and am wondering how she will proceed with the knowledge she now has about Pedro and Fi. Pedro and Fi holding each other in her bedroom door, and Fi confiding her concerns to Pedro was touching, and I hope that El takes this all in in an understanding way.

Will Roxi run to Ben for support now that she is without any visible means of support?

Anibal is such a doofus. It won't take Vitto long to track him down, and then it's back in prison for him! Is it my imagination, or are they making him look greasier as things progress.

Well, thanks again, Lila. Hope you and everyone else on the patio had a wonderful Christmas, and that the New Year will bring wonderful luck and peace.

David

Mille grazie, Diva! See you later in the morning!

Buongiorno e grazie tanto, David! David, this is so true and refreshing:

I'm enjoying El toying with the young'ens. She is finding stuff out in her role as a demented old person that she never could have as the crotchety old granny.

I liked it that they ditched that old stereotype and didn't have Eloisa fussing about "consarned new fangled gadgets" but instead had her using a tablet and keeping up with social media, but this has taken it a step further. I'm enjoying her in this role as well! And yes, I think Eloisa is sharp enough to put that major gaff of Fifi's about Pilar's villa together with that warm and loving greeting and figure out exactly what has happened! David, Eloisa is key in stopping the take down of the whole Angeles family and I'm convinced Sonia will be key in stopping the murder of Pedro. (I have further speculations but will save them for later).

Roxi will sho nuff run to Benni and he'll accept her with open arms!

Re Anibal. You know what. For a minute I kinda felt sorry for Vitto, and Diana. Don't know what will happen to those two but the grease ball has GOT to go down!

David, I hope you and your loved ones had a lovely Christmas and I wish you all peace and prosperity in the coming New Year!

Awesome day after Lila, thanks.

"well, shut my mouth!"

Sure, Roxy should have been pitched out, but for a party? Fifi lies to the old woman's face and Petey a no show at the wedding Eloisa orchestrated and not a slap on the wrist.

I haven't forgotten Eloisa is a hateful old bitty.

What, Santiago didn't return with Juliana? Why?

Hey, Tofie Grazie, eh!

Good point:

Fifi lies to the old woman's face and Petey a no show at the wedding Eloisa orchestrated and not a slap on the wrist.

Eloisa didn't say anything to Aitana about hanging around the Ranch, either, did she?

Tofie, the way the players are painted is interesting. "They" are kinda making Granny a hero. For me her biggest sin is not in not wanting Petey for Fifi, though the manipulation and pushing the Haired One on Petey is reprehensible, but her role in The First Swindle, that of her brother-in-law, Gabriel, Freddie's Father. Now, her direct connection doesn't seem to be clearly drawn but she is a prime suspect. Secondly, what was her involvement in Gabriel's murder? Again, it seems that it is possible she knew but just as possible the murder was planned by Maximo and she let him handle this as well as the swindle, turning a blind eye as both these were "business" and her husband's domain.

Now, the same thing is happening to her beloved Pedro. Did Eloisa play a role like Sonia is now, okay with Gabriel being gotten out of the way but not killed? Am I forgetting a more direct link of Eloisa to the defrauding and murder of Gabriel?

So, as I was saying, the above describe her big sins yet she is now being painted as an underdog fighting to save her fortune. HER fortune and yes, she is being positioned to help Pedro save ACorp and the Angeles family as well. Is Granny a villian or a victor?

And then there's Freddie. Her Daddy WAS done wrong yet they make her efforts at vengeance odious and over the top, ridiculous and dastardly. There's no doubt to me she's going down so Gabriel gets screwed and so does his daughter, literally screwed by the man who killed him and she bites the dust as well? Weird.

Re Santino. Yah, weird again. What did they find out in Italy? Who sent the package to Fiorella? I think this story line must be the victim of some editing. o_0.

Thanks so much Lila!! What a great recap.

Hope everyone enjoyed a wondrous holiday!! Today we celebrate Laundry Day in my house to catch up on all the outfits, table linens and kitchen towels from cooking and baking. Always a good time!

Actually was able to watch a good amount of this last night, well except for one chunk getting one of the cats out of the Christmas tree. It was the Sergio bed scene so seems I didn't miss much. Honestly, he and Julieta leave me cold.

Speaking of cold, yish, Eloisa really gave it Roxi. Now will they play that as her being befuddled and so Rox is saved another day? If not, my guess is Rox does go running to Benny, and she'll wind up at the Adela and Rey Wayside Inn for the temporarily homeless. Might do her good to be truthful.

Was surprised Petey was so openly affectionate to Fi in Eloisa's doorway, but it was a nice scene. And thank the heavens they are letting Fi dress better. Liked the softer shade of lipstick too.

Asshat is prepping for a major anvil. Sonia isn't comfortable in actually killing someone. She knows she didn't marry the brightest bulb in the family, and it goes wrong, she's looking at a wardrobe of orange. Not her best color. Did get me thinking being writers love repeating history in these shows... Is Asshat being painted as Gabriel? Do we have the whole story with he and Max? Was he maybe not the innocent we are led to believe who was "cheated" out of his share? That would help justify not painting Freddie in a pretty picture--her father being more an Asshat then a Petey?

Don't get sending those photos to Fi. Odd way to reveal to someone they aren't who they think they are.

Daisynjay

Lila - Thank you for the wonderful snark-filled recap!!! You are such a dear to watch this and recap on Christmas Day! It's a Xmas miracle! Thank you!

Hubby and I saw Star Wars yesterday (awesome!!!) and I could not bear to watch MIVAC until this morning; well I didn't want to lose the SW-TFA buzz.

Daisynjay - I'm with you. I am starting to think Fedeloca's father was perhaps not quite the innocent victim, and that Eloisa had no knowledge of the who or what was behind his death, or that he really was murdered and not an accident victim. Elo is no angel with her elitist attitude, manipulations, etc., but she might be innocent in the Gabriel situation. I'm betting on her being redeemable, in spite of living behind her cardboard walls all these years.

Sonia has no stomach for murder and she still kind of has a crush on Pedro. She may be the key to impeding the murder, or get killed herself and thus redeemed. Time will tell . . . must(?) see tv...

Oh Benni, stay away from tequila. It only postpones reality and makes you do stupid stuff.

Not redeemable: Assvaldo, Fedeloca, Anibal #verraevilpeeps

Hubs and I are hosting a total of ten for day-after-Xmas-dinner tonight, so must go sort out the kitchen pans and ingredients. Table is already set. I think I'll have a bit of chocolate, first. :-)

Buongiorno, Daisynjay! I LOVE your whole comment:

Re Roxi being kicked to the curb:

Now will they play that as her being befuddled and so Rox is saved another day?

And this is a thoughtful and ingenious response to my wondering why they have cast the characters as they have:

Is Asshat being painted as Gabriel? Do we have the whole story with he and Max? Was he maybe not the innocent we are led to believe who was "cheated" out of his share? That would help justify not painting Freddie in a pretty picture--her father being more an Asshat then a Petey?

Gosh! I never thought of that! That's a brilliant theory! Maybe Maximo AND Gabriel were a couple of ruthless Asshats! What if they are both what Assvaldo is now and neither was a Pedro! Love it!

Eloisa worships one thing and it is ACorp and was willing to put up with a philandering Max so she could inherit his throne. I almost believe she knows Roxy is Max's child but has been keeping a close eye on her to make sure there are no claims.

Petey's been Eloisa's boy because he is the easiest to manipulate not because he's smart.

I laugh every scene with Jose Ron and Arturo Garcia Tenorio. Arturo is so big Jose looks even more a little boy than he already does. They should have cast better than Rocky and Bullwinkle.

Doris, my hat off to you, hosting a party of ten. I had 7, two were younger kids, on Christmas Eve and prepping for that was enough for me. I love having family over, and our Christmas Eve tradition is a "simple supper" to honor our ancestors and the spirit of the evening, but I always do a deep sigh when festivities and entertaining is over. Guess I'm not much of an hostess at heart.

They do seem to be painting Eloisa a little more sympathetic, or more to what she we thought she would be like at the start of this when she was griping about her hanging on family. I agree, she's still an elitist, which I deplore, but I'm sure the loyalty of Fifi and Petey's love for her will change that?

Forgot to mention Anibal--so he's savvy enough to think of stealing the funds through the back door systems, but not smart enough to know it's all traceable. Or do they think Vitto would be too stupid and old to know that? Seriously, Vitto was quick to call the cops when Fi went missing, he better think of it now. If not, just drown him in the pasta sauce and be done with it. Hard to conjer up any sympathy really for the man right now.

Daisynjay

Doris! Buongiorno e mille grazie, my dear! You are welcome!

Daisynjay - I'm with you. I am starting to think Fedeloca's father was perhaps not quite the innocent victim, and that Eloisa had no knowledge of the who or what was behind his death, or that he really was murdered and not an accident victim.

ITA, Sonia DOES still have a crush on Pedro and what you speculate is exactly what I was thinking, Doris, that Sonia might get killed in the process of saving Pedro and end her redemption on the other side.

Wow, Doris, thank you for stopping by what with your big dinner party coming and all! Enjoy!

Hey, I got lots of chocolate for Christmas. I have food sensitivities and had sworn off chocolate but after my system resting for a few years it seems I can tolerate it in small amounts. The trick is in the "small amounts" part!

;D

HA! Pedro and FairyGodFather Fidel are precious together!

;D

The episode had its moments, but the recap was WAY funnier! The way you described Fi's fake-innocent backpedaling "well, shut my mouth! This place IS more beautiful than El Rancho!"is right on the money. And I see I'm not the only one disturbed at how much she's having to lie recently. It really didn't bother me as much as when she was fake-blackmailing Pedro, maybe because that ended relatively quickly and this has no end in sight?

Eloisa still needs to go down, but I'm entertained by her fake dementia and the way she's using it to torment Fed, mostly. I'm ambivalent about what she's doing to Roxi.

The whole "Vitto got cleaned out" side plot just left me cold. He and Anibal are equally irrelevant to the story right now.

Gi and Gael are still at the top of my "Cutest Couples" list.

Diva! Yaaay! Mille grazie, Capitana! Yah, G & G are cute as buttons. I thought him getting high and Roxi's very public humiliation of Benni would break those relatioships for sure. I forgot, these are just barely 20-somethings and make up/break ups are like the sun going in and out of puffy clouds. Sheesh! Now, if Eloisa follows through with putting Roxi out, she will surely go to Benni's and this very act of seeking refuge in him will be enough to relight those tequila-soaked fires to a full, raging, burn. Ay! Young folk!

I think the difference between G&G and Rox and Beni is that G&G don't tend to do horrible things TO each other, they just act stupid sometimes. Rox and Beni are very "come on, baby make it hurt so good...."

Yes! That's it! You know, she may run to Benni and I remember the dinner where she enjoyed herself and opened up and cried because she could see her loveless life and home contrasted with his own so full of love, warmth and the ability of members to let heach other just be. . .and yet, they were poor. I did see that but how long can Roxi survive on good feelings and a life without malls, charge cards and parties.

Uuuunless living with love without a lot of material trappings will "hurt so good!"

Lol, I don't know if $0 is the kind of pain Roxi likes :D No...wait...it would give her something to constantly berate Beni about. "I would be swimming in cash right now if I hadn't fallen in love with you!" So that might make her happy. And Beni likes a pouty Roxi. So maybe this is a win after all.

Diva, what do you think about the theory that Gabriel was not an innocent lamb led to slaughter? What if he was just as rotten as Maximo or even that Maximo was victimized first? As I type this I'm remembering the testimony of coma guy's daughter, that Gabriel was a kind soul who always respected and did right by the workers. Maybe we don't need for Gabriel to be bad to make sense of Freddie being such a jerkette in her quest for vengeance? Maybe Gabriel WAS good but Freddie, without his guiding hand as a Father, turned out to be the tripped out, greedy, one-track minded chick she is today!

By the way, what happened to the coma guy and his daughter storyline?

I think Dante gave the daughter a bunch of money so she could move her dad closer to family.

I think it's possible for Gabriel to have been overall a great guy and really good to his employees, but at the same time a total ass to his brother. If he was a great guy then that makes Fed's whole revenge quest totally justified, which seems like an odd thing to do with such a horrible character. If somehow it turns out that Gabe was just as bad as Maximo and Fed eventually finds that out, it would be quite a blow to her, and I'd say a fitting punishment for all the crap she's pulled so far.

It is unlikely that Roxi will learn what is important in life -- which ain't money or material things -- before she learns about her parents, especially that her bio-mom is the ama de casa. And, boy howdy, that probably won't be a pretty reaction on Roxi's part when that big reveal takes place.

As much as I want the secret revealed, I'm not looking forward to seeing Roxi be a total ass to her mom.

Kat, I agree that the scene when Roxi learns her true parentage is going to be cringe-worthy. With Max gone, she'll lay all her anger, confusion and tantrum at Jo's feet. But to some extent, if there is one thing that has driven me crazy about this secret mother plot is that they have shown Jo to be at times, yes, embarrassed at her daughter's antics, yet turns around and aids and abets the attitude that the likes of a Benny is beneath her and that is she privileged. She WANTS her to be able to inherit the money she's feels is her due and live the life of a rich girl as if that's going to make her happy. If Jo was brought into the house to actually raise that girl, can I just offer that not sure she did all that great of a job. Sure Rox is surrounded by vipers, but a good "nanny" can instill some values into a young child, perhaps some better understanding of others not of her class. Instead, I see that she may have encouraged it since she wants her daughter to be all about being the same level as Max, even if it means being a bratty rich girl.

Sure it will bring Rox down a peg to know who "mom" is, but swear she could do better being around Adela to learn how to act and respect others.

Daisynjay

It has been disappointing to watch Joaquina constantly defend Rox, no matter how bad her behavior. I wonder where she would draw the line, if at all. I agree, Adela would be a much better influence on Rox until/unless Joaquina changes her tune.

Even though we see Joaquina defend Rox, in real life there are parents who defend every awful thing their own kids do, and won't discipline them. They often end up on national news, unfortunately.
Quina cannot discipline Roxi, not sure anyone ever has disciplined her, but I sort of get the defending thing because it is human behavior no matter how unhealthy. But I don't condone it!!! I'd like to see Granny Clampett get a hold of Roxi with a switch and then set her to scrubbing some floors, or the cement pond.

Or at least clean up after her own damn party!!! I'm furious all over again on Simona's behalf. Joaquina, of course, was perfectly happy to do it.

Not a defense of Joaquina, (not impressed), nor one of Roxy's entitled behavior, but Roxy's been told her parents are dead and no one has taken the parent role front and center. Joaquina acted as a nanny and loved her daughter but could not put her foot down and make it stick like a parent could for fear of exposing everything to Eloisa. Roxy's been rudderless and see what we got. Max got one of his girlfriends pregnant and instead of buying them a place and offering financial support, Max moved them into the house and swore Joaquina to secrecy. Cannot imagine how scared she was when Max died. The man she loved gone, the father of her child never acknowledged Roxy and at the mercy of Eloise should it ever surface. At least Joaquina hung in there and it's more than what Julieta did.

I don't care which brother was the worst. Max had his brother killed. Killed

Lila,THANK YOU in advance for writing the recap. I missed a couple of episodes so looking forward to reading it and of course all the comments.

Just wanted to say Merry Christmas and best wishes to all during this festive holiday season....

J in cold rainy Oregon.

Thanks for the awesome Christmas recap, Lila!

I'm so glad G&G made up and cleared things up very quickly. And even though I'm not as invested in them, glad Juliana believed Sergio. I mean, there are many reasons she could break up with him, but I wouldn't want it to be over some stupid misunderstanding.

Pedro needs to come up with a real plan. It's stupid that he has Fi lying and pretending not to be his wife, just because he can't figure out how to convince his supposedly dementia addled grandma that his ex-fiance and her father are swindling them. None of these things have anything to do with the fact that he's married to Fi.

As for Eloisa-- what makes what Roxi did an eviction-worthy crime, versus the vile things all the other family members do and say on a regular basis?

Maybe she's secretly upset that Roxi turned down Benito?

Nah, didn't think so.

OK, how about...Roxi's crime was "worse" because Roxi mocked her? Or it's not about what Roxi did, but the fact that Roxi had such a good time doing it that it made it more fun to kick her out than it would be to get rid of any of the others?

How come when Aitana constantly brings up how humiliated she was by Pedro ditching her at the altar, no one brings up that she did the exact same thing to him a few years back? Payback's a b*tch, Aitana.

Lila, another outstanding recap, written with great care, impressive detail and signature wit.

"And she begins to break it down with the best of them" had me smiling away as I did not see this but delighted in the picture your words evoked in my mind.

Eloisa committed many hurtful atrocities and I am unsure if she will be able to atone for any of them. I need to see what she actually does with everything she is learning about those in her household and under her thumb.

I'm not surprised at Osvaldo's plans to murder. It is in keeping with his odious character. A bit relieved that Sonia is disquieted, but will she do anything to stop them? Aitana is a heinous beyotch who deserves everything unpleasant that comes her way.

Now that Gi and Gael and Bennie and Roxi have been together as lovers, I am assuming they will stay together per stale, blueprint TN "law". I still say I prefer Gi and Bennie (pretty sure I'm alone here), but it will be interesting to see what happens.

Hope everyone has a wonderful Christmas!

Thank you Lila!

Diana

Hey, J in O! Grazie! Been away from the board for a while. Making my way down comments. Love and Joy to you, J! We were 46 degrees and sunny on Christmas. My lawn's even green!

Did Aitana stand up Pedro at the church, way back when, or did she only break off the engagement? I can't remember, but always thought she simply broke up with Ped. Not that I really care.... The family have all gone home and I'm blissfully stuffed on cheesecake and chocolate cake.
:-)

Mille grazie, Vivi! I'm with you, girl, on planless Pedro and this:

As for Eloisa-- what makes what Roxi did an eviction-worthy crime, versus the vile things all the other family members do and say on a regular basis?

Who has the power to overrule her, Pedro? I could see Roxi going to him whining that she can't mean what she said because she's "crazy." Hmm, wait a minute, that won't earn her any points with Pedro!

Diana! Mille grazie, amica! Diana, sometimes I feel like during the filming of this thing maybe it was up in the air as to whether it would be Benni/Roxi or Benn/Gianna and they just let it flow! I guess since Benni and Gael "made Roxi and Gianna women" (don't throw tomatoes, just referring to TN concepts!), they probably will stay together.

Let's see what Quina does when she hears that her poor, defenseless, baby has been kicked to the curb!

Hope your Holidays are just splendid, Diana!

Hmmm, Doris, not sure whether she stood him up at the altar or took off like the day or week of the wedding. Anybody with an answer.

I'm having dessert envy:

> blissfully stuffed on cheesecake and chocolate cake.
:-)

I don't think it was at the altar exactly, but it was VERY close to their wedding, and she ran off for years without a word or explanation.

Thanks, Vivi! We can rest assured Aitana is going to go down reeeal good and I can't wait!

Good night sweet hearts. I hope you all had a happy christmas. Well before the actors begin filming this novela on Mexico, it was supposed that the juvenile leads would be Benito and Gianna and Gael was supposed to be a villano and very spoiled and arrogant boy but just some days before the filming start, the writers changed his character. And well the audience loved the couple of Gianna and Gael so much.

Lila, I enjoyed your recap. Thank you my dear, and I hope you had a Merry Christmas with your family. The ol girl was shakin her booty Pretty good there. I bet in her youth she was a hot momma.(Eloisa)
The three stooges plus 1 wants pedro dead.
Guess which one is the 1.
Now since the rich italian hot guy is fiorella's
Dad, does that make her an heiress? Good
Enough for the ol dancing granny? Roxi &ben
Are romanticly tiresome they need to give each other a break. And us too. this is a part of the holidays I don't like, things get so very boring so quickly. My holiday was great, it's
Just afterwards the air fizzes out. Well I've
Got these people to watch. Theres never a dull Moment there, at times. I wonder if pedro
Is faking being dumb or is he really not gettin
That assyvaldo is a crook. He knows what a
Screw up his cousin is, he cannot be that dumb or........can he? Well we'll see next year
Just how far this will go. Maybe this week.
And yeah, if the ol dancin queen Is going to kick roxi to The curve, she should be the only one In that house, or maybe she needs to move Out too. Can you imagine the crap shes Done? oh yeah the only ones that really should be living in that house is those poor hard working employees. she is such a old hypocrite.

So jaoquina was supposed to be Roxy's nanny. She didn't do a very good job of it, because Roxy has grown up to be in nasty foul mouth little brat who looks down her snooty nose at other people. Moma quina should have been fired. Bad nanny, Bad nanny!!! I suppose Christmas would have been more fun if it had been cold but Christmas is good no matter what the temperature is, because you're with people you love. I'm just used to it being cold around Christmas time, 84 degrees is not cold. I'm just glad I made it through this year. I'm Blessed. Maybe roxi will get s clue when
The truth comes out.

Grazie, Nina! Yes, having a great time this holiday, hope you and your family as well!

Nina, you know how sometimes a man can get pregnancy symptoms in sympathy with his lady? Well, maybe Pedro is having sympathy dementia along with his beloved Granny! Pedro's in deep doo and with Fidel offering him the terrible advice to confide in Assvaldo, he's kinda out there on his own.

Oh Nina, I think that Pietro is just trusting ass boy because he knows his ambitions of growing in Acorp and thinks he would not do nothing against the company that would risk his own dreams. Is not that he trusts in him 100 percent, is just that ass is the only one in the family that has worked with him so Pietro assumes that he would be the most interested in helping him save the company.

You know, he is out there on his on. He got all these greedy, airheads around him.
Somebody please get some smarts in this
Mess of a family, at least for christmas. But
They're not celebrating so thats out. Lets all
Wish pedro some smarts before the new year
Comes in. That'll take a miracle. Fi is not a lot
Of help, shes just happy being mrs. Angeles.
But look theres a whole new week comin and stuff is lookin up.......maybe.

Marla - Your take on this is spot on. Well said!

Oh my, these holidays and having hubby off from work have me so confused that I don't know what day of the week today is. I kept wondering why our DVR did not record MIVAC tonight until I realized that -DUH! - today is Saturday. I need some more chocolate...

Just for curiosity's sake...did MIVAC run on Dec 25? I checked in on the 24th and it was pre-empted for a seasonal movie, and didn't check back again on Friday night, but it looks like I missed at least one episode.
Loved reading all the comments, and LILA your recap was wonderful, as always!
Makes me feel warm just hanging out of the patio for a bit tonight.

J in Oregon

J - Lila's recap is for the Dec. 25 episode. Have some chocolate with me. LOL

Thanks, J in O! and thank you Doris! Yep, it was Christmas night. My daughter was in for the week and she tried to hang with me as I wrote the recap. I started to get up and do it on Saturday morning but so far I've managed to get my recaps up the same night/wee hours of the next morning! Thanks for the appreciation!

;D

"¡No me toques!" Did anyone else think of Letty (playing Aurora) in La Fea when they heard this? (On Friday's show, I think.)
Lila, 5ft, once again, I send you my appreciation and admiration for your recapping dedication and skills. Thank you both!
Ann C

Mille grazie, Ann C!

"¡No me toques!" HA! Oh, yes, I remember very well! The novela that got me started on this crazy ride!
