Yo No Creo en los Hombres #114, Wednesday 12/23/15: Josefa Tries to Pull the Plug on Isela, But Pulls the Trigger on Alma Instead
Labels: no-creo
"she is- free, healthy, wealthy (but not so wise)"
"Troy would burn/ arde Troya"
Awesome work by Adriana, fear, filth, hope, longing, exhaustion all rolled in one.
Why didn't the maid call the cops, surely they'll have Josefa picked up for busting in on Alma
Corina becomes a street wise justice seeker & righter of wrongs, hmmmm.
Doubtful Isela had a Living Will or Claudio as healthcare proxy so Josefa would be consulted and Claudio have no say in the matter. If there is a law in Mexico intended to protect unborn children, like in some US states, the hospital may refuse to withdraw life support contrary to directives of a living will or healthcare proxy.
The chats yesterday about moving Isela were astute.
Orlando shouldn't apologize for whom he loves but he should have been completely honest with Doris, though the tell-tale signs always there. Doris knows the depth of his love for Isela now and if she is alright with having Orlando by default, fine, but she deserves more than that.
I hope MD's dream isn't a dream
Hosefa will certainly burn in Hell for this although we may not have the satisfaction of seeing it. I also question why the maid didn't call the police over Hosefa barging in. Hell will have no fury like Max and Leo when they find Alma either suffering or dead after that nasty scene.
Considering that Isela's pregnancy is past three months and is likely to be at six months now I doubt the hospital would turn off the machines if the pregnancy is sustainable.
MD better be out of that prison before the baby can be released from the hospital. That crazy Abuela would definitely try to harm the baby if she ended up with MD in the prison.
More later; I have a medical appointment.
During that whole nasty scene between Josefa and Alma I kept wondering why the maid wasn't trying to bust in, and thinking that maid better be calling the cops. Ack!
Josefa telling the doc coldly to pull the plug shows that she only cares about Isela as an instrument for vengeance and a convenient punching bag, nothing more. Her only use now is to stick it to Clod as a "suicide" that's his fault, and to kill his baby. I can't believe Hon is still aligning herself with this vile creature. And lying to Orly that Isela wanted HIM to take care of her baby doesn't count as doing something to protect Isela. It's just causing more problems.
I think Corina's meddling is just going to land the Barrio Boys back in jail.
I'll miss all you guys pounding out recap after recap and the deep dive nuance and discussion that leaves me with more questions than answers.
Josefa can not be more vile. She just wants to kill everyone in her path.
I thought that Isela did ask Honoria to only allow Orlando or Esperanza to care for the baby, when she was laying on the wreath.
Poor Doris. I wonder what will happen there. Can Orlando convince her that he does really love her? Or will Orlando admit that it's not going to ever happen with Doris?
I hope that Ursula can't mess with the DNA results. This close to the end makes me think that she won't be able to.
The drama of who's the daddy is trumped by who knows the truth first and I assume that will be Dan and his mother despite the attention paid to the test procedure. I don't think Ursula cares but she has to know to flip to plan B. Damn MD and fool Max long enough to gain custody. Dan however has a lot riding on this and his plans for a happy family with lady love MD.
Outside my big bubble I also consider more folk dying including Max, something really bad happening to Clara, Jenny not able to conceive and subsequent downward spiral, or left with Alma dying with that look of terror and defeat in her eyes with Josefa standing over her with smug satisfaction of a job well done and skipping home.
Romy
Gerry’s look screams, “It’s not about you, Ivana!”
“Her name? Oh, let me find her calling card…” *middle finger!* He calms her down with some tonsil hockey and bed gymnastics.
And I can't wait to watch Max getting catcalls in the women's prison.
To Orlando's credit, if Doris were lying there dying, he'd be just as sorrowful. Isela is his lost love, Doris is his found one.
Tofie - I'm betting the baby is Max's too. That Max could possibly be the father got little or no attention on the show in the past, but now I'm seeing a little foreshadowing (of course I could be delusional).
About MD's dream. I couldn't believe they would introduce this tantalizing tidbit so late in the show unless it was to remind us that she and Max had made love--one time--so long ago--before the rape. Now it will be on all our minds and not be taken by surprise IF it turns out that Dan-Dan is not the father. If for no other reason, I want to see the look on Ursula's and Dan's faces if they get that news. (I think Arango will be secretly pleased by the news, too.) [P.S. Vivi--Ursula was the one who stated that this would be her third opportunity to raise a child. Granted the numbers serve for Hosefa as well, as you pointed out. Interesting, this would be the third time for Clod, third time for Espy, but not for Honoria--she's only at two.]
I've been thinking of Orlando's statement to Clod about being the only one who truly *loved* Isela. Note he used the past tense. For me it was a true statement, but not one that excludes Doris. (Even MD abandoned her in the end.) It doesn't mean he does *not* love Doris. I choose not to think she's Orlando's 2nd choice. I think Orlando gave Isela up as a life partner a long time ago. In current parlance, she's what we would call a high-maintenance chick. Remember also what Vivi said yesterday, "The issue is that it's Isela- a woman who likes to, and often, puts on a show of being fragile and helpless in order to manipulate others, and Orly has never caught on to this." This is also a true statement, although I personally believe Orlando caught on to her particular neediness, but ignored how it was affecting Doris when he dropped everything to run to her aid. He was just being himself, a white knight, good Samaritan, whatever.
Vivi and cathyx--Isela was conscious when she told Honoria to give her baby either to Espy or Orlando. She didn't want her in Clod or Hosefa's hands. I noted that she didn't want (unspoken) Honoria either. By the time Orlando was there, Isela was unconscious and she hasn't spoken since. There was so much going on that Honoria probably delayed some time before telling Orlando. But I agree with everyone here that Clod and Hosefa are in a better position to decide both Isela's and the baby's fates. It seems to me there would still be some legal protocol established before determining who decides--and the hospital also has a voice in the matter.
So much to say, so little time before it's over. Tofie, I so agree this telenovela could have gone on for another 50 episodes and I wouldn't have tired of it. Too many characters with so many stories to follow. (OTOH--I'm looking forward to Hotel de los Secretos).
Honoria actually did well with Julian, and so did Espy with her kids, so I wouldn't worry about how they would do raising their grandchildren.
Ok josefa is a nasty cold blooded and black hearted evil creature. I can understand her
Being hurt because of her daughters death, I
Think now she loves being hateful and evil.
Isela wants nothing more to do with her so
She tells the dr. to pull the plug, and then goes and cause more pain to a womam who
Had nothing to do with her daughters death.
Shes just a nasty heartless ( Im gonna spell it out) B*I*T*C*H. This goes beyond hurtin for Her daughter. She just don't give a damn of whats right or wrong. I was hoping leo would have come home and drug her mean ass out of there by her smelly hair, but nobody came To protect this dying women from this thing Thats already dead Inside. Alright, rant over.
"Josefa makes a crack to hon about watching out for espy, making sure she don't
Steal her man. (Oh please)!!! ITA Vivi, that
Would not be a theft he'd walk away gladly.
But he's not like that he loves honora. Maybe
Assefa need to consider her own situation back in the day. I hope isela wakes up.
I liked gerry's look "its not about you ivanna".
Maybe one day she'll get that.
To raise a child again, that would be the two
Granmas from hell, ursula & josefa. Even tho
Claudio is a lying liar, he was a good papa. He raised two honorable sons with the help of a Good wife and mother. Too bad he didn't go public with that kind of integrity.
Thank you for the fantastic recap Vivi! I must go back and check out Catwalk Max (sounds delish!) I caught most of the episode, but really missed Isela's dying wishes, so that's to you all for clarifying (I thought she just said NOT Clod/Josefa, not that she wanted Orly/Espy to raise her daughter).
Count me among those that think Max is the father. So much bad stuff has gone down, this seems like a thin silver lining that could help wrap things up. Of course, this is YNCELH, so anything could go down.
Oh! I just knew someone was going over that dark railing! Ever since Hon yelled at Josefa for shaking it, I had an image in my head that someone was going to die that way. First I thought it was Marta, then Josefa. Never thought it would be Isela! Totally wasn't expecting her to die at all! In a perfect world, she and Alma would be perfect matches and the doctors would somehow harvest a bunch of Isela's organs for Alma who would then be magically cured and able to see her (biological) granddaughter raised and the Santibanez foiled...but again, this is YNCELH, so that's wildly impossible. Sigh.
Did they christen the baby "Alma"? Adorable. I totally thought that was going to be the way Isela went, but if they're going with dying grandparents, I guess it'll be Marta?
Leo's totally regretting breaking up with Clara - sweet. He'll prob be the one to save her from the clients that will inevitably sexually assault her after her new boss's comment yesterday? Day before? I don't know, I just watched the last four episodes while cooking for tomorrow, so I'm not sure. (So glad it's preempted tonight!)
Anyway, I love y'all! Happy Holidays! See you next week!
Happy holidays a todos!
Kelly
I've so thoroughly enjoyed reliving this marvelous experience with you all. Thanks for the all the laughs, the poignant conversations, and the good times. Merry Christmas to everybody!
Here is a salute to Hellashelle - I remember when you predicted someone would dive over the iron railing in the courtyard - the first time that Josefa gave it a good shake.
Tofie, you said it right: "I love being very wrong and/or clueless. Hate em or love em I feel I know these people, not necessarily what they'll do, but know them and hate the looming first day not musing why he or she did or did not do this instead of that. What would I have done, what I hope they'll do, how long the disappointment last when they don't, and the lies I gave up on tracking long ago?"
It is looking very good for Hotel! I hope everyone will stick around as we take up a new set of characters in a different time and place and carry them with us in that special place in our heads for a while. (I have to admit, they do stick around in my head even after the series if finished.)
Merry Christmas or Happy Holidays to all of you,
Marcia
I love what you said, brought tears to my eyes and coherence to my brain.
Isela is joys lost love but Doris is his found one👸👸!!)()()()
Hope you guys a good christmas. Lookin to the New Year, 016.
So that means there's six more episodes left. 5 more, the last is 2 hours, so thats 6. So that
Means a lot of crazy goings on. A lot of insanity.
HAPPY NEW YEAR YA'LL!!!!!!!
I hope you all spent a wonderful time.
Vivi this was a great recap, you trully have a wonderful memory!
I read that YNCELH has been doing great in the US and even gets the number 1 spot sometimes above Pasión y Poder (which seems to be doing better in the US than Mexico). That's great. I think Univision really wants to keep the momentum and start the new telenovela away from holiday celebrations because people tend to not watch much tv during these times.
Jarocha
Jarocha- Yes, I saw that Yo No is pulling in bigger numbers than the other shows on Uni (and Telemundo) which is unusual for the 10pm show. I'm glad. It deserves it. I makes sense to start the new show well away from the holidays.
