Yo No Creo En Los Hombres #116 Tuesday 12/29/15: Patrnity Bites, Maternity Without Rights, and Baby's In The Middle

We go to Alma’s funeral.  She left a letter to her family of last thoughts.  Max is to take care of headstrong Leo.  Leo is to stick with Clara who really cares for him.  Claudio is left without Alma’s pardon, and a request to right the wrongs he’s done.
The paternity results are in and Daniel’s DNA is the darned baby-daddy.  He rubs Max’s nose in it as much as possible.  (What else would we expect?)  Despite Max’s best arguments that DannyBoy is a drug addict and the family is suicide prone, the judge gives temporary custody to Grrrrsula and Family.
Corina introduces herself to Nayelli’s kids and tries to take them with her, but Aldo stops her.  She lies about knowing Nayelli and why she was with the kids.

Clod visits his judge buddy, Marcelino(?) who laughs in his face when Clod tells him he’s there to do right by poor dead Martha.  Marc tells him to just let sleeping dogs (dead dawgs) lie, cuz he doesn’t really want to be tainted with such a scandal, now does he?
Sicko de Josefa, meanwhile, gets into Isela’s hospital room and decides she doesn’t want to have to take care of Isela’s kid.  Suddenly she gets hit with the homicidal bug again and leans on top of Isela’s belly and tries pushing on the baby, trying to squash and kill it.  The monitors go off while she escapes.  Clod, Ivana and Orlando all get calls that the baby’s under fetal distress and there will now have to be a Caesarian birth.
Gerry tries convincing Ivana that she’s making a mistake taking charge of Isela and her baby.  Ivana tries convincing Orly of the same thing.  There’s a big discussion about workers having insurance to help with the expenses.  (Yawn……….)
Orly tells Clod that Hosey keeps hanging around the hospital and he is afraid she’ll hurt Ise some way.  Clod mentions to Orly while they’re alone that he’s certain Hosey was behind Isela’s fall somehow and that he’s started an investigation he’s following closely, trying to prove that notion. Clod figures he’s still got rights to Ise’s baby cuz he’s the baby-daddy and is not a happy camper hearing Orly say he’s taking care of Isela for the rest of her days.
Clara proves to be too smart by half to take the escort job Squirrely Pimp Guy offers her, no matter how much money he tells her she could make.  Leo listens through the door to the conversation.
Corina and Dumb and Dumber have a strategy meeting.  Aldo is too quick-witted to pull the wool over his eyes it seems.  They’ll have to figure things out and study the situation a bit more before trying anything that might compromise them with the law.  (I think that’s what they tried telling her.)
At the hospital, the doctor lets the baby go home with Los Santibañez.  Ivana takes charge of the baby per their agreement.  Max reminds Ivana of her promise to him (re: the trial).  Grrrrsula asks Ivana what “promise?”
Marc and Marcia have a secret pow-wow on top of a building to argue about who’s going down and with whom if the truth about Marta’s death ever gets out.
At the manse, Gerry steps in and prevents Ivana from signing any “agreement” with Grrrrsula and Co. until Ivana’s lawyers have read through it and commented.  He tells them the lawyer is on his way.  When DannyBoy finally gets a chance to hold his daughter in his arms at the manse he threatens Ivana with never letting her have charge of his child, EVER.

Josefa doesn't want to take care of another brat that she can't pimp out to Claudio, because this brat is his child.

Seems to me the rich people's hospital should have security cameras to see what's happening on their premises. Perhaps a camera caught Josefa slithering into Isela's room around the time of the fetal distress. At any rate, if Claudio is concerned about Josefa doing harm to Isela/baby, he needs to hire an armed guard.

Ivana keeps trying to play games with the big dogs but she will end up getting burned in the end, unless she has a plan. And if she has a plan, she needs to share that plan with Gerry and Max. But she won't.

This is the second time Alma has asked Claudio to make things right. It looks like he's beginning to, but will he follow through?

Thank you Jar--coming into another busy week, we all needed short and sweet. You still covered it all, though there was nothing sweet about this episode. We keep getting 90mph baseballs coming at our heads and nowhere to duck. The 11 o'clock news comes as a relief from the tension of YoNo. Thank you again.

I thought for sure either Marc or Marcia were going to end up going off the roof. No loss in either case and it surely would have raised some police notice.

At this late date, I didn't need Aldo in this story. Even if Corina had been able to take the chamacos, then what? Off to Espy's? They are too old to be with Nayeli in prison, but at least she could have seen them. I'm surprised the kids even wanted to see her. It would have been so easy for Aldo to make sure they knew she'd abandoned them, didn't want them, etc. For kids living on the street, they were still nicely dressed and their faces were clean.

C'mon, writers, give us a peek through this dark novela and let us see a couple of rays of sunshine. Dan grabbing Almita was el colmo. This could last another 10 episodes. The nasty turn will have to die in order to get her away from him. Let us count the ways--and getting run over by a truck is too easy to eliminate our wrath.

Wait a minute--we have two recaps for last night's episode?? I'm glad I read yours first, Jardinera.

Yes, we do and it's my fault for not having checked whether there was a new episode last Friday. That's a mistake I won't make again.

Urban--No sweat--except it was double work for you. I'll read yours a little later. The grocery store just got in a shipment of egg nog.....

Thanks, Jardinera. Great title and bullets. Sorry for the double work for you and Urban, but I've enjoyed both recaps.

Corina, what you tried to do could be called kidnapping. Better to ask Max for a referral to a nice lawyer that works pro bono to help Nayelli.

What is Ivana up to? As much as I can't stand her now, I don't want Dan to outwit her.

No complaint from me and thank you Jardinera for your work here and the TN long.

Ivana is nuts, straight up. She wants a newborn baby sooooo badly I wished she would put her fortune to work either helping young mothers and the children or supporting an orphanage. I could not have children so Mr. tofie and I have supported orphanages hands on and financially in Burma and Thailand for two decades. Lots of heart warming success stories for children needing it.

Thanks for the bonus recap, Jardinera!

Anon207--I agree about the private hospital not having security cameras or tv monitoring of comatose patients--or any hospital or any patient in their care--or is this just telenovela style.

Modern life has made it more and more difficult for anyone to go about their business without being on someone's camera. Maybe the hospital will still come up with a video of Hosefa entering the unit and then leaving just as the baby showed signs of distress.

Maybe re-writers of earlier telenovelas will come up with some new ideas.

I re-read my earlier comment--I meant to call Dan a nasty turd!

Is this the right episode number? Shouldn't it be 117, hulu has it upcomimg as 118 tonight,

Victoria- The numbering is correct.

FELS did get a lot of action for the villains including a murder scene that many thought the most perverse to date (2008).

OT but important for a future weekend discussion
There are a few Televisa novelas that I've missed in the last couple of years and it's almost time for another toxic mothers gallery. If there were any in the following series, will someone please e-mail me the stats so I can assemble one for a few weeks from now:

Lo Imperdonable
La Malquerida
Quiero Amarte
Que Te Perdone Dios (I know this had one)

The stats should follow the pattern in the original gallery of toxic mothers.

UA--Quiero Amarte had a very toxic WIFE and Mother. I've forgotten all of her sins, but if it can wait until the week after New Year's, I can go back and scroll through the recaps.

As for horrible violence against unborn children, El Talisman still tops my list. That telenovela lost a lot of viewers due to that episode. And this occurred in either the 2nd episode, when we hadn't even had a chance to invest any empathy in the characters. Mariana confronted her "lover" with her pregnancy only to be threatened with taking the baby away from her. Later his father showed up at her home, cornered her and he beat and kicked her until not only her baby died, but she was severely injured, traumatized and lost her memory for most of the run.

Gracias, Anita. Just e-mail me the info in the same format as in the original gallery.

UA--Is Eva Luna too old to be included in your new list? Marcela Arismendi was an ingenious villana, following in the footsteps of the great Bernarda de Iturbide. Her murders and poisonings were accomplished without suspicion coming back on her. Marcela had two adult children from the beginning. But of course, there were secrets and lies she had to protect. She nearly killed her daughter making it look like a suicide, just so her fiancé would feel sorry for her and come back to her.

Anita, she's in the second gallery. The ones we've profiled so far are:

Original list:

Gabriela Elizondo (FELS)
Carlota Espinoza de los Monteros (ENDA)
Bernarda Iturbide (TdA)
Jacinta Lopez (Barrera de Amor)
Bernarda Saiza (La Otra)
Rosaura Florez (LQNPA)
Rosario Perez de Cordoba (Mi Pecado)
Mathilda Montes de Oca (YCEM)
Alfonsina Arango (Abismo de Pasion)
Ana Joaquina Villarde (EPdA)
Catalina Creel (Cuna de Lobos)
Josefina Alvarez de Monterubio (Cuando Me Enamoro)

Second List:

Catalina Valencia (Las Vias del Amor)
Juana Arellano (Alborada)
Marcela Arismendi (Evan Luna)
Lucrezia Lomieli (La Fuerza del Destino)
Rosaelena Torreslanda (EL Refugio para el Amor)
Veronica Hiero (Porque el Amor Manda)
Matila Aresti de Camargo (Mentir Para Vivir)
Graciela Mendoza (LQLVMR)

Oooh, I'll have to check out the 2d series. I only went to the link you provided, which was the 1st series. It's so delicious to re-read and re-capture some of the malevolence of years gone by!!

UA--If you see this, will you send me the date of the 2d Villana series? I skimmed the Weekend Discussion Index (actually pretty thoroughly) looking for it. Thanks.

Never Mind--I found it, under Controlling Mothers.

Jardinera654, your recap is good, thank you.
The episode was disgusting. That rapest got
To touch that child. I don't care if he is the
Sperm supplier. It pisses me off to see him &
Ivanna holding that baby. I hated seeing that
Look of disappointment on max's face and
Right after his mom's funeral too. Then he has to breath the same air as those vultrues,
Him and little almamaxi. Will this misery ever
End? Yeah, after the new year. Until then the
Suffering continues.
That pompus bag of hot air that was in on marta's death Is dangerous, clod had better watch his back, & every other body part he has. Don't You just want ho-heffa to just die. Who trys To kill a baby en vitro in a dying comatose mother?
I suppose that twisted b*tch that calls herself
A mother. This isn't about avengeing her kid.
Shes just plain ol evil. I really hope isela will
Open her eyes. this is a freaking soap opera they have miracles on soap operas/TNs all the time. but this particular one doesn't have miracles it has disasterous tragedys.

Yall have a HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!!! Somebody
Needs to after watchin this. happy happy happy. :-) :-) :-) :-)

Urban: Sorry to tread on your efforts. I was simply so busy I just was in a daze and didn't stop to consider since I have to get stuff off Hulu and they had it on Mon and Tues as usual, I didn't think anything about it.

Jardinera, thanks for setting me straight about the numbering.

Wouldn't it be a hoot if Ivana turns out to be the mastermind, playing Urusula and Daniel, and ends up giving MD Almita back after taking loving care of her. Too far fetched I know.

Jardinera, no te preocupes.

I don't see Ivana being that smart at outsmarting sociopathic criminals even though her own sense of empathy isn't normal.
