Antes Muerta que Lichita #74 Thursday 1/7/16: Details are so 2015!

Happy New Years Patio! I hope everyone enjoyed the holiday season and is having a good new year thus far. My brief but awesome vacation in Columbia has caused me to miss 2 weeks worth of episodes but thanks to the wonderful recaps  (you guys are amazing!) from the rest of the team I am all caught up. Lets jump right in and see what mischief the gang has construed while I've been away.

We begin with Sandra forcefully opening Bea eyes to her husband's philandering ways and linking Alicia in that picture. At first, Bea thinks Sandra is a little crazy for preposterous proposition but Sandra fueled with anger, jealousy and hypocrisy will not leave without destroying everyone's happiness. She begins to spin a lovely but gossipy tale of the Alicia, the "Trepadora", a woman who stops at nothing to climb to the position she seeks. Alicia started with her son Alex and has now moved her sights to Bea's hubby. How do you think she returned to Iconika after the wedding fiasco? Furthermore guess who is heading up the Iconika USA branch and who do you believe is there with her at this very moment?? Bea seems to believe the dirt Sandra is dishing and is devastated. She cannot believe that Alicia will do such a thing after she opened up the doors of her home to her (she seems to leave out the part where she was constantly judging her and her family but lets not get caught up in details. Bea wonders why Sandra is telling her all of this...what does she have to gain? Sandra feel that it is her duty as a woman to convey what is going on. She felt it was Bea's right to know (being half owner and all) even though it was a hard decision for her whether or not to spill the beans. Sandra relays that she will be on a short vacation since she has been fired. She asks for Bea's discretion to not reveal who give the dirt on Don Augusto's side chicks.  With her mission accomplished of infecting her poison, Sandra departs leaving Bea to cry over a picture of her and Don Augusto looking not so happy.  I wondered during this whole encounter when Sandra will out her 10 YEAR relationship with Don Augusto and her willingness to run away to the US with him herself but who cares about details these days.
Point 1: When tattle telling on others it is okay to gloss over your own crimes in the affair.

Meanwhile, due to the loss of Venus as his moral compass, Roberto has increased his visits to the Gutierrez family to fill that empty hole. Roberto begins to fill the gaps between Don Augusto and Alicia. He seems worried but does not relay this to Nacho who senses marital problems. Roberto complains how hard it is (no duh!) and Nacho does not dispute this but encourages to be patient and keep trying. Roberto does confide in Nacho, telling him that he still has feelings for Alicia. Nacho draws the line there and chides him. He is a married man and Alicia is single...he needs to leave her in peace to which he begrudgingly agrees.

Bea goes to do the one thing she does very well and that is pray. She believes the whole Don Augusto fiasco is her fault (sigh) and that she is a sinner. Valeria finds her and Bea tells her on Don Augusto's new affair. She actually admits to knowing of his past affairs but this time its not just anyone it is someone in her agency.

Seems that Gumaro has successful planted himself as some type of employee. Roberto wants him to be his eyes and ears. Gumaro wonders how he will do that when he has to remain invisible but Roberto sees this as an advantage. These two cannot have a conversation without mentioning Alicia and this time is unfortunately not an exception. Roberto finds Don Augusto's trip suspicious since he has lied in the past. He cannot help but think they are in L.A. together and Gumaro does not help matters. For whatever reason Gumaro decided to cover up the fact that Luciana recalls him from somewhere (even though she cannot remember) and pretends that their undercover mission is flawless. What deems to be the most important information is that Roberto is making some grounds with tracking down Sheila (please detail further if you caught the rest).
Point 2: When your BFF for life asks you about your interactions with his wife (who you are secretly infatuated with) it is okay to lie and pretend everything is peachy even though the information could bite you in the arse.

Alicia, Augusto and third wheel Draco arrives at some fancy shin-dig in L.A. Alicia is surprised that the two of them will be staying in the same accommodations. Alicia seems extremely uncomfortable at this notion. However, Donnie boy never takes no for an answer and he pulls the boss card. He tells her that she has reached a higher league and this is how they play. She is no longer just "any employee" and should be used to this kind of treatment. Alicia naively goes against her better judgement and believes the half-lies spewing effortless from Don Augusto's mouth.
Point 3: When that "second sense" or "gut reaction" kicks in and tells you to run like your life depended on it. Dont! It's not like they have not helped you in countless other situations when your brain decided to take a vacation from paying attention to red flags.

Bea and Valeria continue their conversation. Bea does not believe in divorce since it is a sin. The only thing she can think to do is go to her priest and ask for advice. It seems like Valeria wants to confess (or it could be my wishful thinking) but she decides last minute that this may not be a good time. Luciana walks in on the encounter and wants to know what is going on. Of course, Bea spills the juicy details to which even Valeria did not agree with.
Luciana runs into Roberto and happily retells the details of his "Lichita" being painted in a bad light. Of course he blows the whole thing off as a rumor but Luciana assures him that Bea received the news from a "credible" source which is why she is so distraught.

Magos decides to show up and work for her parents today. She encounters two no-nonsense business looking guys in front of the shop and mistakes them as a couple wanting to take advantage of the cafe's promo. They set her straight quickly and realizes that they are there to find out when she will start paying off their debt. Nacho runs them off before anything further was said to Elsa's and Magos delight.  Magos of course regrets not opening her mouth when Alicia was offering her help but Elsa thinks it good that she is "painting" herself as a more responsible figure in front of Ximena (if only in ideas and words but not action).

Dafne wants to know why her mother is so distraught and not her usual semi-composed self. Unsurprisingly Bea, does not give Dafne  the time of day she gives Luciana. Dafne later conveys her mother's behavior to Alex. Alex is getting tired of waiting for the right moment to intervene. He thinks it is now or never...especially since his mother needs them right now. He asks Dafne where Bea is....she mentions that she went to go confess and it seems that Alex may have an idea where to find her.

Bea goes to the confession box to confess Augusto's sins and ask for guidance. However, all the person in the box could do is cough which makes me think something is up. Bea does not seem to mind so I'll go along with the flow. In truth, even though her son lives in sin, she really misses him and needs him now more than ever. Alex, who clearly was the "priest" all the while, drops the disguise and also confesses the same. Bea, surprised jumps over to see who she has been talking to all along. Unfortunately , she does not look too happy that Alex tricked her.

Magos and her buddies reunite, kiss and make up. It seems that Gerry and the other girl have a new "legal" business which is why they look so spiffy.

After a hard days work Alicia comes back to her abode to find a candlelight dinner for two. Don Augusto walks out in a bathrobe excusing himself by saving he just got out of the shower. He asks if she ate dinner yet to which she denies. Alicia tries to escape the situation but she is no master like Don Augusto. He ropes her into having dinner with him, drinking wine (which she is not accustomed to) and speaking on taboo topics (his son). Alicia, left her brain at the front door, and enjoys the wine a little too much. She wants to make it clear that she never blackmailed him into getting her job back. She only negotiated. Alicia wants to make it clear that she is not a "trepadora". Before you know it Alicia's common sense flies out the window and Donnie boy takes this opportunity to pounce. He calls her a enchantress/charmer if you will and tells her that she does not need to justify herself to anyone. He believes tonight will be the night they let there masks completely fall so there is no more friction between them. Don Augusto thinks its time they start planning what their immediate future will look like (Yikes!!).

Final Point: It is okay to ignore the fact that your boss is getting way too familiar and sending mixed signals. Instead it is much better to let your guard down and chug wine with the said person.

Wow...Don Augusto sure is bold! I did not think he will play his hand so quickly but I guess we will see Alicia's reaction tomorrow. I can only see him taking rejection as more of a motivation to chase her though.

Alicia needs to shopping where Chuchette shops, especially now that she knows Augusto has the hots for her. I hope she smartens up tomorrow but I will not hold my breath for that.

On another note, It's nice coming back to the patio after this short break! Even though I do not comment much (to my chagrin) I check this site multiple times a day (much more than I care to admit) even for novelas that I am not following. This is such a great community of smart, witty and wonderful writers/commenters whom never fail to put a smile on my face. I am so glad that Google led me here in 2010 while I was watching Cuidado Con el Angel. Thanks everyone :)

Thank you, CeCe! Glad to hear you had a great trip. I loved the recap with your "Points" and your comment about Alicia needing to shop now where Cuchette does. Happy you are back on the patio! : )

Sandra sure embroidered her tale of "Lichita--Alicia--Malicia" and Augusto for Beatriz. Sandra fired? Don't think so.

Loved Nacho putting Roberto in his place as a "married man" with reference to the "single" Alicia. Also, loved him telling the bank guys that they had no legal right to harass Magos. Glad he and Elsa have settled their dispute. Sure hope he gets a taxi soon. That is something Roberto needs to work on with Luciana ASAP.

Augusto owns the property where he and Alicia are staying. I am disappointed in Alicia: She tells us she knows something is not right with Augusto and her staying at the property but goes ahead and engages in what amounts to a drinking game with him? Maybe she does deserve Bobo Roberto after all. She is indeed acting like "Magos' sister".

Poor Beatriz doing penance for her own lust for Augusto. She tells the "priest" it has been a long while since she has confessed: 2 days: too funny.

Dafne made me laugh telling Alex the family was just plain old "fuchi" "stinky". Alicia made me laugh when the Icónika USA people wanted to know hat Augusto was like and the most she could say was that he had a lot of "punch."

Can't wait to see how a drunk Alicia manages to avoid Augusto's amorous advances.

good one! I am sadly dragging myself through the revamp plans so not much time for watching which is the fun part! you caught me up nicely, thanks!

I really enjoyed the read CeCe thank you for being here for us.

"Sandra fueled with anger, jealousy and hypocrisy" Surely Alicia is not the first woman Sandra saw that caught Augusto's eye in 10 years. Even Beatriz knew he strayed just not the specifics.

"due to the loss of Venus as his moral compass, Roberto has increased his visits to the Gutierrez family" Great point CeCe and never looked at it that way. Venus, Roberto's fairy godmother is gone. I am happy Nacho told Roberto to back off Alicia but it will do no good. Roberto feels entitled to Alicia just like Augusto does.

"Valeria wants to confess (or it could be my wishful thinking)" Several times since Rafael died she has come close but I don't understand what would be the point now. Is Valeria really sorry she slept with Beatriz's husband and had his child? She wasn't bothered enough to tell Rafael, whom she really betrayed. Go tell a tree Valeria.

Augusto's choice of women, the conquest and ability to keep them near is remarkable because all want to be there. (I have hope for Chuchette to break away) Alicia was practically purring as Augusto told her what she wanted to hear.

Amazing recap and welcome back!!

Oh you hit it on the head with Sandra. I really couldn't believe she went that far. What? Does she think getting rid of Alicia will give her back Augie? Sandra is dead to me now. She has gone too far. I made some allowances in the past but that's over.

Very disappointed with Alicia last night. Knowing something was up, with Augie in his robe, and she drinks with him? The way she was talking, after a couple of sips, is as if she has had no one to confide in so she decides to in him. Bad choice. The best thing that could happen tonight is that she throws up on Augie before he gets her into bed.

I was pissed that Elsa praised Magos. She seems to work only when she wants to. If they are paying her, why isn't she paying off some of her debt? Magos has been coddled for too long.

Must say, the previews don't offer much hope for our Alicia. Looks like the whole company (Luci I'm sure) will think Alicia is sleeping with Augie.

Welcome back, Cece! So glad you had a great trip, but very glad to have you back.

I missed the episode last night, but your recap has painted the picture clearly. I can't believe Alicia left all her sense at the door and allowed herself to get drunk and let down her guard with Augusto. Yes, I too hope she hurls all over him.

Welcome back Cece!

Your recap was fantastic. I missed almost all of this but you filled in all of the details and adding a dash of great humor!

"preposterous proposition", "Point 1: When tattle telling on others it is okay to gloss over your own crimes in the affair" and "not her usual semi-composed self" were among my favorites.

I agree with the comments that it was so foolish for Alicia to allow herself to be in her current situation. But it is in keeping with her true character in that she is truly naïve and very unsophisticated in the ways of the world. Her intuition is making her uneasy (rightfully so), but she hasn't fully grasped she is dealing with a monster.

I so look forward to Gumaro's upcoming escapades.

"due to the loss of Venus as his moral compass...". I didn't realize how much of a guardian angel she was and enthusiastically agree with tofie that this was a wonderful observation.

I am assuming Alicia will avoid being mauled in the bear's lair, but I don't know how that will happen.

Sounds like you had a nice trip CeCe, I'll bet that you are glad to be back on the patio---if the patio stays in tact that is.

It was VERY clear that Alicia was apprehensive over the situation that she was in.
So what does she do? She takes on the wine sip/drink after drink. What? You can put the glass to your lips but not really swallow. Well the writers and Televisa's director told her to do it so I guess we will just have to wait for tonight to see how she gets out of the mess that she's now in.

Alex as the priest in the confessional was a good one. Again we will have to wait for tonight to see how that develops.

Come on Magos, do the right thing. You incurred the debt, so start making small payments and get it paid off.

Why did Sandra do it? It's plain jealously, nothing more.

must see tv

Welcome back from Colombia, Cece! Terrific recap and lesson points. I too liked due to the loss of Venus as his moral compass…

Alicia is trying to be cool and not blow her future at Icónika by bluntly shutting down Augusto. Gringo, I too thought she would take the wine and only pretend to sip it.

Nice to see Gerry again. He was a stand-up friend not to take Magos down with him when Chanclas set him up. Magos has had plenty of close calls when she should’ve seen the error of her ways and changed, but nope.

Thanks guys!

I am with everyone who thinks Alicia should "accidentally" hurl on Augusto whether through his lame advances or the wine....the end result is the same :)

I can't even with Magos....she just does not want to grow up and take responsibility. If she has a decision she always chooses the hard way.

Sandra was not really fired right? I had a feeling she was making it up but I missed a lot of episodes so not sure what went on there.

She wasn't fired. This started when Augusto picked Alicia to go to LA when Sandra thought she and Augusto would. Sandra pulled a powerplay saying she would take some time off, then expecting the time would be used for a getaway to Europe with Augusto.

I think Sandra told Bea she was fired so that Bea will sweep in and ask her to come back and give her more authority.

Thanks tofie. And I agree carvivlie that's why I initially thought.

Everytime I have a sliver of pity for Sandra her actions negate it. She doesn't deserve Elias at this point.

Unless Alicia is heading towards the path of no return I don't see her ever giving Augusto the time of day. It would be entertaining to see Augusto continously try though.

I don't believe Alicia is wired to want anything to do with Augusto but right now she hasn't put together her position is contingent on extracurricular activities with the boss. I hope we get a resounding no and not three weeks of her being coy.

Tofie---How is Alicia going to give Augusto a resounding no when she is flat out drunk?
