Caray, Caray!

Looks like they are keeping up with the double episodes. This was  our third this week.BTW, I will fill in for Marta on Friday.

After the kiss, Alicia tells Santiago she is open to also having a personal relationship with him as long as they keep work and their personal lives separate. Santiago talks about himself wanting to get married and have children. It also turns out he is not a one trick pony. He has several businesses: Peoples' Café, a restaurant chain, a few boutique hotels and he a partner in a real estate firm.

At the park, Roberto tries to explain to Mateo how much he wants to be with him andhow much he loves him. Mateo quotes his mother: she told him that if a person REALLY wants to do something, they will find a way to do it. His mother left her "super heroine" job for him but Roberto refused to. Roberto accuses Sheila of lying to Mateo about him. She sees it all differently. He wants to know if she is hanging around with another criminal just like her. She takes exception with that. The guy she is with is not like him. Roberto says he has changed. He is a married man and successful. She has had enough of Roberto. He wants to spend some time with Mateo there at the park. Sheila decides it is time to go.

At the mansion, Gumaro and Luciana have done the deed and we see them all happy with themselves in her bed. Luciana tells him he can call her "tú" when they are not out in public. They hear Dafne in the mansion so Gumaro hides. Later outside at the bonsai station, Gumaro is feeling guilty so he tells Luciana he is quitting. She feels guilty, too, being "very" married. We hear her say not to rush; not to quit until he has another job. That is just what she told him yesterday. We have come full circle. They are kissing again.



At Icónika, Roberto confronts Alicia about not having seen her hardly at all the preceding day and then about her spending so much time with Santiago: (he is jealous)they have more accounts than "Peoples'Café". She should not be doing Chuchette's PR job. By the way, HE is her boss, not Santiago.

Nacho takes Elsa to the cemetery to talk about starting a grave cleaning/decorating business with his new found insurance money. Elsa is not impressed or interested. if people do not take the time to put a flower on the grave of a loved one, what makes him think thay will take time to pay him for doing the same thing? She really wants to leave and looks upset when Nacho mentions that we all have a little dead person we want to remember. (Do they know something we don't?) Nacho is taking her to another spot to discuss another business opportunity.

At Icónika, Néstor introduces himself to Santiago. (He actually makes it sound like he does something)Santiago asks to talk to Alicia alone. Chuchette teases them. When she leaves Alicia tells Santiago that that is the very reason they have to keep their personal life separate from their professional: the gossip. He gives her a red rose. They kiss.

At the police station, Detective Carmona tells Roberto how it is: that he is not done finding more info on Augusto. He needs to continue to look for more incriminating evidence. Roberto says he cannot force him. Well, Carmona responds: Roberto could be hindering a police investigation, etc., etc., etc., end up in a mess. He needs to keep following Augusto. (looks like Roberto has turned into a police informant)

At Icónika in the board room: Alicia is meeting with Mr.Gómez of Gómez Canned Foods. (the new account that Néstor wants to head but Alicia wants for Braulio)and the full crew. Gómez understands and is impressed by the whole campaign eventhough he slept through most of it. It doesn't matter because Alicia, who is the the most talented of all, is in charge of it. Out of nowhere, Augusto enters. He is not happy they have not kept him up to date on what is going on. There is a BIG problem. The Madelén Agency is doing the same kind of campaign with chicken and vegetables as they have planned for Gómez Canned Foods. Either somebody stole the idea from them or someone from Icónika gave them the idea. Augusto puts Alicia on the spot. She denies she would do something like that. According to Elías, ideas are in the air but a whole campaign, no. Gómez understands that they may have to change things but he expects them to do so ASAP. He wants the commercial to still be shot tomorrow. it is their job to make it happen. Alicia suggests getting famous people to eat his new mix of chicken and veggies for the commercial spots. Alicia thinks about the actors for the current hit telenovela "Corazón enamorado" after some comments Chuchette makes.

Alicia is going to talk to the actors personally. Roberto goes with her to help convince them. When they talk to the actors on the set, they find out that the actors expect to be compensated very well: since they are the couple of the moment. The leading man wants to talk money up front. The leading lady thinks canned foods are nasty. She is more into shampoo ads, commercials for designer brands. Roberto and Alicia are sure they will all be able to agree on something. Then we see the REAL magical world of telenovelas: the leading lady is complaining about the leading man's disgusting breath and asking someone to give him some mint gum. The leading man is complaining about the leading lady's nails and wanting her to file them down. The last time she left scratches on his back. They tell the director to have doubles do their bed scene for them. He leaves in a huff. Then the actors have an idea: they will do the commercial for Gómez canned goods if Roberto and Alicia are their doubles for the bed scene. Roberto has on a baseball cap and Alicia a blond wig as they cuddle and kiss in the bed. The director yells cut. He never told them to kiss just to be passionate. He is going to have his actors do the kiss in a big close up. (Whoopsie!)

At the rival Madelén Agency: War to the death: looks like Sandra is running Madelén and is behind the plagiarized/stolen campaign as she talks to a Madelén executive. She will not give him the name of her informant inside Icónika. That is how she got the info about the Gómez Canned Foods campaign in the first place. She is going to make Augusto pay for all he did.

At the Gutiérrez house, Magos and Ximena are watching "Corazón Enamorado." When all of the family is there, Magos tells them how she wants a birthday party with her friends. Nacho is not for it because of her "friends" but he is out numbered by Ximena, Dafne and Alicia.

In his office, Augusto tells Draco how much he enjoyed seeing the fear on all if their faces as he talked about the "traitor." Draco asks if he will run the company into the ground now. Augusto says no: now is not the time. With Beatriz having invested her money in Icónika USA and his own money being tied up in both companies, he needs to take a couple steps back. He does not want to put his own capital at risk or risk the real jewel of the company. Draco correctly guesses that that jewel is Alicia. Draco actually smiles. Draco realizes what Alicia means to Augusto.

Surprise at the API: Augusto comes into the conference room and Beatriz is already meeting with the API board members. She had always been kind enough to organize their formal dinners but at this time, she will not be able to help them organize the celebratory dinner when the API president is named. She has let them know that she and Augusto are getting a divorce. She asks Augusto if that does not make sense? He has nothing to say (looks like he never considered the full and complicated ramifications of his actions) She compares the marriage to Bohemian crystal: something that you care for for a lifetime but still ends up breaking in spite of the care. The API board is devastated. Beatriz excuses herself. The API board knows Augusto's wife: how did things get to this point? Augusto the gentleman will not say. API is wondering about more than just the divorce. What about Roberto? Is Roberto going to be an exemplary representative for API as they hope? Auguato assure them that he will be. The vote is soon.

More Brisa and Braulio nonsense. She wants to take their relationship to the next level. They are stagnant in the superficial right now. He seems wary.

At the Madelén Agency, Elías confronts Sandra about the stolen ad campaign. He wants to know if she was behind it. Of course, she denies any involvement. She says she left Icónika so she would not have to see him and here he is in her face again. And isn't he the one that always said the ideas were just out there floating in the air? Elías says he knows she didn't go to Madelén just not to see him. She wants to know how he found out so quickly where she was. He says it was no big deal knowing how ambitious she is. It just took a couple of phone calls. She thinks he came looking for a job. Elías says he can work with people who are useless and inept but he will never ever work with a traitor.

It confession time at the church. The poor half deaf priest has Beatriz on one side and Valeria on the other. He absolves Valeria and tells Beatriz the "sinner" to recite the 300 longest prayers she knows. Seems like got them mixed up . . . The priest retreats back into the confessional.

It is early at Icónika and Chuchette wants to know how Alicia and Roberto convinced the leading lady and the leading man to do the commercial shoot. Roberto and Alicia agree it was the power of their convincing argument. It turns out that Chuchette has arranged that the leading man villain and the leading lady villain of the same telenovela come to do the commercial shoot. The leading lady is not a happy camper when she sees the villainess at the shoot. The leading man lets it slip how he and the leading lady agreed to do the shoot: Alicia and Roberto were their doubles in bed. Of course, Luciana hears that and goes crazy. Chuchette says she just asked her actors and they accepted. She didn't have to do anything like that. The leading lady is turned off by the lack of "professionalism" and she leaves.
Looks like the villains will do the commercials. Alicia sees Santiago and asks if he has been there long. His answer: more or less. Next she asks if he heard everything. His answer: more or less. (another Whoopsie)
