Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse #104 1-22-16 Preggers? Who's Preggers?

Ciao y'all!  It's been an eventful week in Dos Rios and Rancho Los Angeles.  Here's what went down today, not necessarily in order of broadcast.

Eloisa is unshaken in her resolve to welcome Fiorella into the Angeles family and deflects insults from Assvaldo and Federica.  Pedro and Fiorella hug Eloisa, Sergio proposes a toast.  Freddie's attempts to sour the mood with constant cracks about how she's going to grab the Angeles fortune go ignored.   Eloisa declares that two people marrying who really love each other is worth celebrating and she doesn't care what anyone has to say about Fiorella and Pedro's marriage and everybody who lives in the Angeles house will respect them!  Eloisa's expansive mood includes Roxi whom she invites to move back into the Ranch.  Roxi coolly declines and Eloisa coolly accepts her refusal.

Gael goes by Papi Chulo, his dad, Augustin's apartment.   It's a trick.  Augustin isn't there, Katia is and before you can say Katiaisaskank, she unasses her robe and stands before him naked.  She doesn't care that he has a novia, she's not jealous.  Augustin arrives, Skankia darts out of the room and Gael stutters his reason for being there and gets the heck out the door.  [Hmmm, I bet Skankia had something to do with the ending of Papi Chulo's marriage, chick's morals are lower than a snake's belly in a wagon rut.]

Sonia and Ass boy debrief about Pedro and Fiorella's marriage.  He can't believe Eloisa accepted Pedro's marriage to a servant.  Of course, Assvaldo sees it as an affront to himself.  Why didn't Pedro trust him; why didn't he tell him?  He concludes Pedro is a hypocrite. He is also concerned about the possibility of Pedro and Fiorella having a child before them.  Sonia seems about to tell him something but he kills the thought with this:  "Considering your record of miscarriages, we're dead!"

There is a sliver of a scene where Freddie asks Dante why Pilar is so upset and afraid around him.  Is there something he is hiding?  Dante says no and leaves.

Julieta tells Sergio she is going to move out of El Rancho.  She doesn't feel comfortable now that Pilar has returned.  No, she won't stay in Roxi's room.  She needs some space.

Fiorella and Pedro make kissy face and fantasize about a big ol' house they'll have one day all to themselves, maybe in Maratea, and privacy and he picks her up, they fall on the bed and make more kissy face. . .

Freddie continues to act like a jerk, actually trying to race Eloisa to the head of the table and hip check her out of her place.  When that fails, she takes Eloisa's food.  The whole Angeles family is gathered at the table save Pedro and Fiorella who enter the dining room.  Eloisa welcomes her to the table, Freddie mocks her by asking her to bring some item of food.  Eloisa cuts her off, Pedro defends her.   Eloisa tells Pedro not to waste his time with someone who has been driven mad by ambition and vengeance.

Diana and Vitto talk about how she didn't know about Julieta.  Diana wants to talk to Julieta.

Simoneta announces happily that Fiorella is having breakfast with the patrones!  Roxi asks why she didn't return to the big house.  She didn't want to give Eloisa the satisfaction.  Roxi asks Gianna why SHE isn't at the big house, being the sister in law of Pedro and all AND Gael's novia!   Well, she doesn't want to cause more problems and she protests that Roxi has outted her.  Oh well.  What's done is done.

Eloisa maintains her cool as she and Pedro meet with Freddie and Robles, her Attorney.  Eloisa and Pedro are prepared to make sure that Federica gets what was stolen from her Father.  That's not good enough for Freddie, she wants to sue for damages and the years of deception and being kept away from her rightful property and position in the family or some such.  She wants to leave them without a dime!

Diana arrives at El Rancho and is greeted by Julieta who happy takes a finally content Betito into her arms.  Julieta heard about the terrible ordeal Diana went through but doesn't understand why Anibal took Betito.  Julieta tells her because Betito is also Anibal's baby.  Diana seems surprised but not shocked.

Silly Adela and Rey have bought a crap load of baby stuff and ambush Benni and Roxi as they stop by for a visit.  It takes a while but Roxi finally gets a word in sideways:  they are NOT expecting a baby!  Rey wants his money back and Adela wants them to get busy and give them a granchild!

Freddie meets with Ass boy.  She wants them to join forces.  The trial to establish her rights to the Angeles empire may take a long time and if Fiorella has children, they could lose big bucks.  Freddie wants to go for ACorp and cut the Ass in on the deal.  Assvaldo shares that he thinks Fiorella is pregnant.  Freddie says flatly, if she is, they have to kill her.  Assvaldo looks a little shocked.

Gigi and Fifi talk about Katia in the employee's kitchen.  Gael comes in and Gigi asks if he talked to Augustin about Katia. . .about her being a skank, I guess.  Gael stammers no.  Gigi gets mad but this convo is interrupted by Roxi and Benni entering the kitchen and accussisng Gigi and then Fifi of being pregnant.  No way José!  Fifi says she knows, but she ain't telling, and flounces from the kitchen!

Gael meets with Pedro for advice about whether he should strike while the iron granny is hot.  Pedro says yes, he thinks it's the perfect time to tell Granny about Gigi but cautions him NOT to mention his new found Poppa.  Pedro reasserts that Gael is an Angeles and has a right to his share of the inheritance!

Back with Freddie and the Ass.  Kill her!  Ass wonders if they just couldn't have her deported.  Freddie says she's in the way and she's got to go!  But she's Pedro's wife, Assvaldo surprisingly whines.   All the more reason:  If they hid that they were married, what other ways is she manipulating Pedro?  Maybe they've hidden away property or have foreign bank accounts.  Freddie concludes that Fiorella has to pay for her and Pedro's deception.  Fiorella has to disappear but first, they have to prove she's pregnant!

Diana tells her tale of woe and deception at the hands of the despicable Anibal.  Julieta understands and tells her they were both victims of that useless jerk!  Fiorella enters and offers some of her, by now, trademark comfort and understanding.  She tells Diana she knows they had their differences in the past but she heard about the hell she's been through and she's truly sorry.  "Neither of you are responsible for what happened to you at his hands.  He needs to spend the rest of his life in prison!  The good thing in this is that you are two brilliant and very brave women and you have the rest of your lives to begin again."  Julieta and Diana bask in the warmth of her words.

Back to the kitchen where Gael notices Gigi's coolness but he's got a surprise to warm her up!  He's going to tell Eloisa about their relationship!  That does the trick:  she jumps into his arms.  He wants her to come with him.  This little story line was interwoven with another, but let's wrap it up.  Gael finds Eloisa in the living room alone and tells her he wants to talk to her about a woman.  Just then Assvaldo comes in followed by Skankia (Katia) who suctions herself to Gael's side on the sofa.  Assvaldo seems very familiar with her and Skankia has also kissed Gael on the cheek so Eloisa asks who she is.  Skankia introduces herself to Eloisa as Gael's novia.  My gut sinks.  Oh no, not another Aitana-like situation where the wrong woman is foisted off on the right man!

Well, Gianna appears in the threshold of the living room and the Ass insults her and tries to put her out.  Gael stands up and walks over to Gianna and says, she is his novia!  Assvaldo says he prohibits it!  He's not going to let these Italian girls take half the family's inheritance!  Eloisa tells him to stuff it!  Eloisa wants to know who Skankia is then and she's about to blow the story of Gael being the son of her stepfather but Gianna pipes up:  She is the sister of our anatomy professor.  Seeing he has lost, Assvaldo says he will never forgive Gael for this. Eloisa shuts him down again and asks Skankia to leave.  Eloisa is truly warm as she does a stage whisper to them that "the vultures are gone now!" and invites Gael and Gianna to tell her all about their relationship.  They walk off together to go and talk!

Sergio and Pilar are tearful as he asks her to forgive him for being a terrible husband, leaving her to raise Pedro alone but mostly for not protecting her from Maximo.  With the mention of Maximo's name Pilar cries more forcefully.  "I am so sorry I let my father bury you alive in a mental institution and left my son without a Mother.  I hope you forgive me one day.  I hope you understand what I'm saying. .  ."  Julieta comes in and at least she apologizes for interrupting.  She has come to say good bye to them.  She's going to check in to a hotel.  Pilar's tear-filled eyes glisten with gratitude and understanding.  Sergio offers to accompany her.

Fiorella must have some yummy lip gloss because Pedro can't get enough of it.  Anyway, she wants to go see Vittorio.  He agrees and will go with her.  Once there, he leaves them to talk alone.  Fiorella tells Vitto she'd heard about his troubles and wanted to see how he was doing.  He apologizes for all the pain he caused her and says he realized that her beauty and grace were not for him.  She gives him an envelope.  She has saved up and paid him back every centavo he loaned her and Gianna.  He tries to decline it but she persists and Fiorella is persistent, if nothing else and she wins.   Fiorella has a moment when she seems to feel ill but she recovers.  He has something for her as well and directs her to get an envelope in a nearby drawer.  It is the letter from her Father telling her she is adopted!  Vitto starts to speak but Fiorella interrupts him to tell him she and Pedro are married.  He does an about face and decides not to tell her about the letter and she is none the wiser.  Sheesh.

Sonia is on the phone with someone and hangs up with an ear to ear grin!  Assvaldo enters the room.  She tells him she has been invited to sing at a party!  He wants her to call and cancel.  Nope!  She's going and that's THAT!  Sonia starts, "I also wanted to tell you. . . ." but the butt hole butts in:  "Eloisa has accepted the Italian servant girl into the family and the other Italian girl is Gael's novia, who cares if my wife s a common singer."  Sonia has gotten used to these zingers but you can tell it still stings and so does a pang of nausea as she takes off to the bathroom and Assvaldo follows in exasperation.  Quina and Simoneta enter the bedroom just then and leave linen and the two are cackling about "Fiorella's pregnancy" (as they think).  They leave and Assvaldo comes out of the bathroom, his twisted little mind humming.

Pedro and Fiorella are sparking in his bedroom.  She is so proud that he understood her need to talk to Vittorio and left her alone to do so.  Uuuufgurglegurgle!  Fifi's pretty face contorts.  Uuuuuh, she's got a bit of nausea.  Nausea! Pedro pronounces with a beaming smile.  Oh, she was so happy and excited to be eating with the family this morning she stuffed herself with too much food!  Are you sure?  Oh yes!  She asks if he wants to have a baby!  She remembers she didn't finish telling him about Sonia the other day and makes him promise not to tell anyone:  she found the pregnancy test confirming her pregnancy!

At this moment Assvaldo has snuck into Fiorella's room and goes into her closet and starts rifling through a drawer.  He comes out with half of the pregnancy test print out.  He looks up, his mug twisted with the effort of thinking:  "She's pregnant!  She has to die!"

Y fin. . . . .de semana!

Okay, Peeps, there you are! What an exciting week! A BIG MILLE GRAZIE to my Teamie, Sneaky 2 Shoes for covering the action with me for y'all!

Has Eloisa really changed?

Why is she so cool in the face of Freddie's threats?

How should Skankia (Katia) be bumped off?

Have at it!

Oh my God, now we have an alliance between Fedemoniaca and Asstupid to get rid of Fiorella. Oh that doesnt sound good at all.

Gee, Lila, what a great retelling! Your talents at this are just awesome!

I was surprised at how completely Eloisa capitulated in the face of the secret wedding of Pedro and Fi. There wasn't a hint of withheld distaste for the servant class, and she even accepted Gia as extended family! Wow!

Katia is a remarkably attractive woman, and seems very sharing with her charms. I hate to criticize the direction and filming of this thing, but I think the camera angle was 180 degrees off when Katia came on to Gael.

Freddie and Os could both have had a significant piece of a very large pie, but their sociopathy is going to cause them to get nothing, and to share space with Anibal.

I wonder if Pilar will be Dante's undoing, exposing him as the vicious bastard that he is? He morphed from a young man who was so completely grateful for his station as Max's goto guy that he was willing to do the bidding of a psychopath, and then he became comfortable with that. I wonder if he will figure significantly in Fed's downfall?

Osvaldo has no future at all as a private detective. He can eavesdrop and snoop all he wants, but he always draws the wrong conclusion from the evidence he collects.

Thanks again, Lila. Wonderful as always.

David

Lila - Thank you for the recap and the snark!!!

I completely agree with you about Eloisa's cool and detached response to Fedeloca.
- First, she has probably figured out who the baddies are in that family, and she needs to circle the wagons with "team Eloisa" and is building her troops.
- Second, methinks Elo has an "ace" up her sleeve --- maybe that tidbit about Gabe's birth? Maybe he is not "pura sangre" but, instead, yet another not-quite-Los Angeles (like Gael) born out of wedlock? With this telenovela, anything can happen! (Maybe Vitto (a/k/a The Walking Dead) is Gabe's true father.)

"Fiorella must have some yummy lip gloss ... " LOL!

Skankia . . . let's see . . . she could trip and fall in front of a bus, or out a window . . . choke on a fish bone . . . escaleracide . . . or maybe Assvaldo's 'kill Fiorella' plot will take out Skankia instead . . . The Patio can come up with some very inventive ways.

chick's morals are lower than a snake's belly in a wagon rut.]

My my, that is PURE Lila. Love how you state your view on things. I find this young woman rather unbelievable and just another tiresome wrench thrown into the works to drag this story out. Let's wrap it up with a happily ever after soon!

Another phrase that delighted me though was [Katia] "who suctions herself to Gael's side of the sofa" .

Another gem from our Lila as was the lip gloss quip that Doris mentioned.

Sneaky Two Shoes, I apologize...for some reason I always miss seeing your recaps. But thank you for pitching in to help Lila carry this sweet story to its conclusion.

On the pregnancy hysteria, have to admit I got all excited when my recently married youngest refused my offer of red wine. I was over the moon! And then she told me it was only because she wanted the zinfandel instead.

Oh well.

Thanks Lila. No snow here yet. Semi-disappointed. Off to make some split pea soup and toast some croutons for lunch.

Thanks Lila. Great recap as always.

Not loving the "kill Fiorella" plot line. Of course, it makes no sense, but we have to realize it's the two brain damaged twosome thinking this up. I take comfort that neither ever comes up with a sensible plan that works. But it's a bother.

Oh yeah...a preggers plot line, though Adela and Ray were hysterical. Not sure Rox wasn't a bit touched at the outpouring of gifts and excitement.

As can Skankia, though I do love the idea of future heart donor. So glad that is another "secret" out in the open.

Something isn't adding up to me on what Pilar knows. Why would she be aware of Gabe birth parentage and why was she in the barn that night to see the murder? Sergio apparently wasn't the best hubby, was Pilar involved with Gabe? Are we leading to the reveal he was pulling a long con as well ( we know where Freddie gets her behavior than)? And the implications of her and Gabe could be interesting...I know, it's me, I always thought it would be a great twist to have Petey not be a blood Angeles after all this.

David, I think Dante's fall into the pit came from trying to hide and please everyone. And somewhere along the line, he actually fell for Freddie and keeps trying to protect her from herself. He's so mired in secrets and keeping what from whom he doesn't have anyway out of it and hasn't for a long time. No matter who he exposes or backs, he's screwed.

Think Sonia will be the one to take Asshat down eventually. But I also worry for Gael in the meantime. There is something very unhealthy in Asshat's determination to and demean Gael. Personally, I think Petey should encourage Gael to move out and make a new life with his real family and he'll do his best to support him.

Vitto was an ass. He could have, and should have, given Fi that letter. It's her knowledge to own, not his. Maker him go away. Diana too...all made up and kissy face with Julietta. She can leave now.

Marla! Buongiorno e grazie for your fill ins yesterday. I just read them. Apparently they not only hack the episodes but they insert them in in unexpected ways. Some of the scenes you mention from 144 were shown tonight, like Freddie racing Eloisa to hear chair at the head of the table. Oh well, I'm glad they left out a lot of that pregnancy confusion silliness. Grazie!

David! Buongiorno e mille grazie!

I was surprised at how completely Eloisa capitulated in the face of the secret wedding of Pedro and Fi. There wasn't a hint of withheld distaste for the servant class, and she even accepted Gia as extended family! Wow!

All I can do is offer a befuddled "Amen, brother!" So now I guess Eloisa will turn her bitchiness and shrewd Granny powers on Freddie. And she'd better pay attention to the Ass, as well!

Katia is a remarkably attractive woman, and seems very sharing with her charms. David, you are such a gentleman! :D

Oh no, David! Your comment on Dante and Pilar reminds me that Julieta has left. I don't trust Domingo to be a good caretaker of Pilar. From the cut scenes Marla mentioned he is a gossip and we know he's going to be, er, distracted by Simona! I pray she WILL be his undoing but I can't bear more scenes of his bullying her!

Osvaldo. Yah. Thank goodness he's an ass in so many ways!

Buongiorno e grazie tantissimo, Doris! You make an excellent point and this is a good way to look at her bringing Fiorella and Gianna into the fold:

- First, she has probably figured out who the baddies are in that family, and she needs to circle the wagons with "team Eloisa" and is building her troops.

You know, I guess the writers have shown that with the revelation of Pilar's fake death and imprisonment Eloisa realizes that you truly cannot judge a book by it's cover and being materially wealthy and living among luxuries is no guarantee of nobility and human worth. Fifi and Gigi have had neither and she has seen proof of Fiorella's loyalty to Pedro and the interests of ACorp. Maximo was not truthful nor loyal to her; Aitana and her family were right out malicious and desirous of stealing the whole empire; now Freddie is doing the same and she will soon see a demonstration of Assvaldo's disloyalty.

I think you're right about Elo having an ace up her sleeve. Perhaps she does know something about Gabriel's birth and like so many things she kept hush hush, that's one of them and she's going to play that card when the time is right.

Re Skankia:

maybe Assvaldo's 'kill Fiorella' plot will take out Skankia instead . .

Doris, that DID cross my mind! I'm not sure how but I don't care, let it rip!

Not sure why, but Google ate a piece of comment. Was saying on Skankia, as like people are moving out and moving on, so can she.

Daisynjay

And it ate my first signature...I am so not having a good morning. Anyway, my comment at 9:11. Maybe I need another cup of coffee and go get that cat food I need.

Judy, no snow up here either, just some light lake effect. Actually glad we didn't get this blast from what I see out East. But it's only January, my guess is we'll get blasted at some point. Everyone out East stay safe!

Daisynjay

JudyB! Buongiorno e grazie mille, amica!

I find this young woman rather unbelievable and just another tiresome wrench thrown into the works to drag this story out.

YES! That is sooo true! Oh, I could just slap her silly! Let's wrap it up all ready!

Judy, looks like the south east is getting hammered. I remember a couple of years ago both your area and mine was getting socked every other day with inches and inches of snow! I hope everybody stays safe over there but, they can have it!

Mmmmm, that soup sounds delish!

Buongiorno e mille grazie, Anontito @ 9:11!

Something isn't adding up to me on what Pilar knows. Why would she be aware of Gabe birth parentage and why was she in the barn that night to see the murder?

This is intriguing, as is your whole fourth paragraph! Yah, was she involved with Gabe so that he had told her something about his parantage?

Further, remember some of us have speculated that Gabriel was not an innocent victim and in the flashback when Eloisa! and Maximo! were arguing, he said that Gabriel ripped him off first. Is it that this refers to Gabriel posing as an Angeles knowing that he was not and thus laying claim to property that was not his?

Here's something else. Even after the forged property transfer document was taken out of Albanito, Pilar still talks about the little horsey. Why would they go through the trouble of having Fifi repair it and return it to Pilar. I think there's something else in Albanito!

Excellent analysis of Dante's position, Anon!

ITA with this: Personally, I think Petey should encourage Gael to move out and make a new life with his real family and he'll do his best to support him.

ITA with your last paragraph as well. Grazie, Anon! Keep coming by!

Buongiorno e mille grazie tantissimo, Daisynjay! You are the Anon at 9:11! I thought the comment sounded too familiar for an Anon! LOL! Everybody is welcome, though glad to know that was you. I LOVE your speculations about Gabriel! Anybody else care to chew on that?

Be right bak. Guess I'd better do some chore stuff!

Hi LILA, Another hilarious, richly detailed recap from you on a Saturday morning, what a pleasure--Thank you much!

I like that the writers are not drawwwwing out some of the dramatic plot points, like hidden marriage, and kidnapping of Betito. But surprised to see a new character out of the blue--Katia--whom we all instantly dislike. At least she is easier to look at than the Mop.

Favorite scene last night: Fed and Eloisa hip-shooting each other for Granny's chair at the head of the table. Amazingly, other family members sat and did nothing!

Thanks again Lila, and stay warm everyone.

J in Oregon

This is inconsequential to the plot and don't know why I notice it so much, but has anybody else been shocked by the shape of Pilar's hands? The fingers seem unbelievably thick and pudgy. She has the hands of a stevedore. Nothing wrong with that...she would have made a great farmer or construction worker, but on a woman of supposed breeding and "classe" etc. those hands are surprisingly peasant-like.

"and before you can say Katiaisaskank....chick's morals are lower than a snake's belly in a wagon rut" It don't get no better than this Lila, thanks!

David if you want to see Katia as a brunette watch Pasion y Ponder

Her daddy ripped off or not, Freddie still chloroformed granny and left her in the street. Why is that unimportant?

What is more important to Sergio? It seems he wants forgiveness for his own ego more than he is sorry for not giving a crap. How does that spoiled worthless heap even tie both together in the same sentence? Usually friends, coworkers even neighbors inquire or at least discuss a conspiracy theory if someone disappears or drops dead.

J in O! Buongiorno e mille grazie! J, I almost have an involuntary growl every time Katia is on the screen! Uuuuuf!

That WAS funny the way nobody said a word about Freddie's antics trying to boot Eloisa out of her chair and stealing her food. Even if it was an ad lib on the Freddie actor's part, the family's non-reaction was perfect: they've been exposed to the uber annoying Freddie all their lives!

JudyB, I have noticed Pilar's hands. If we stay within the frame of the story, her thick, rough hands could be an side effect of some psychotropic med she was forced to take for twenty years and maybe pounding at the locked door of her room in the manicomio.

If we go outside the story I guess the Pilar actress just has muscular hands. She may be thick and muscular all over. Isn't it good though that her face is not made up and her hands are unmanicured to fit the role she's playing. I can remember one character who was going through some hellish experience but her hands had the most perfect and delicate French manicure!

Tofita! Mille grazie e buongiorno, amica!

I watched a couple of weeks of PyP and "Katia" looks way better as a brunette!

Her daddy ripped off or not, Freddie still chloroformed granny and left her in the street. Why is that unimportant?

DUH, YAH! That was totally dropped. Why didn't they press charges? I know Pilar's resurrection was dramatic but come on, a crime is a crime!

Can't argue with you one bit about Sergio, Tofie! Your whole last paragraph is spot on!!

What do you think about Eloisa getting religion, Tofie?

This is a TN so anyone can 180, Eloisa no exception, but here's why I don't buy it.

Elosia has proven time and again she is no idiot, great at damage control when she makes a mistake and will do most anything to hold on to the cash and property, including an eleventh hour alliance with Petey and Fifi. If it were in her best interest to align with a different person or persons Fifi would be mopping floors still and Petey stomping and holding his breath till he passed out.

Yeah, I don't buy into Eloisa as a humanitarian or egalitarian, but it is a plot propeller, and the PSA behind it is that anyone can change their attitudes at any age if they are willing.

"Usually friends, coworkers even neighbors inquire or at least discuss a conspiracy theory if someone disappears or drops dead"

Family owned company in which neither Sergio nor Pilar worked and you don't question the tdespotic boss, and these people Have. No. Friends. (Have we seen even one???)
Or neighbors.
Husband of "deceased" fully anesthetized with alcohol, not going to rock the boat that is his meal ticket to a life of uselessness.

Gotcha, Tof! With what we've seen, can't argue with that!

Hear ya, Doris! It felt sudden. I don't know if we'd seen some of the scenes which involved Eloisa that were cut, and I can't swear there were any key ones since I don't do YT for novelas, I wonder if it would feel more natural.

Oh well. It IS a plot propeller!

Husband of "deceased" fully anesthetized with alcohol, not going to rock the boat that is his meal ticket to a life of uselessness.

Ouch, Doris! But totally true!

Thank you, Lila. Your recaps are always a treat.

What character does "Katia" play on Pasion y Poder??

The over-the-top antics of Rey and Adela are really annoying and so unnecessary. It's getting old. And please, tn gods, stop with the obstacles to the G and G romance ... the girl has a heart condition, for cripes sake!

Mille grazie, Anon @ 1:36!

On PyP she is Daniela, skanky and annoying sister of Regina who had the pleasure of sampling David's loins before Regina!

ITA, Anon, stop effing with the sick girl!

Oh, and "David" is "Gael"! :D

Lila, this was non stop action, which your recap reflected to perfection.

"chick's morals are lower than a snake's belly in a wagon rut" and "whether he should strike while the iron granny is hot" were among my favorites.

"Freddie continues to act like a jerk, actually trying to race Eloisa to the head of the table and hip check her out of her place. When that fails, she takes Eloisa's food". I did a double take at that scene. Strange and unexpected but was a great touch here. I hope the actors had fun filming it.

Pilar is just painful to watch. Under ordinary circumstances, I would have scant faith she could be rehabilitated, but I believe the TN gods will make it so.

Os has shown or done nothing to dispute the fact he is not going to heaven but I just don't want him to drag Sonia to hell along with him. She's proven here she is a force to be reckoned with. She doesn't need him for anything - her child or business acumen (which he clearly doesn't possess anyway).

Fiorella was much nicer to Vitto than he deserved. What a shame he didn't tell her about her being adopted.

I think Eloisa has taken the stand to follow her own rigid rules and beliefs. She believes she needs to do whatever to protect her family name and the "purity" of her class blood line. I'd like to think she has truly accepted Fiorella out of the goodness of her tiny little heart, but I suspect her motivation was somewhat different and agree she needs some sort of support system.

Thank you Lila!

Stay warm everyone. It's snowing here in MA but know it's worse elsewhere.

Diana

Diana! Grazie tantissimo!! Ah, Pilar knows something and I'm holding out that Albanito still holds a secret.

I am also hoping that Freddie and Assvaldo destroy each other. I can't get Eloisa's calm out of my mind. Like Daisy, I hope she's got an ace up her sleeve. I also hope there's something to this reference by Dante about Gabriel's birth.

Maybe just like Assvaldo Jr. and Gael are not brothers, Maximo and Gabriel are not, either. Can't guess what that's about but I hope it's about Freddie not being an Angeles. But would that matter?

Yeah, that was sucky and childish of Vitto not to give Fiorella the letter. That's ok, though, I want her and Gianna to finally look at the picture of the adoptive father of Julieta's child and see that it's their Poppa, Mario. With Julieta moving out to a hotel, tat might be less likely to happen soon.

Ah, Eloisa. I must say I was moved by her crying scene with Pilar. Just let that translate into insuring the poor thing isn't harmed any further!

Lila, thank you, thank you for all of your amazing work. Sneaky also. You guys are Rock Stars!!

We missed a couple of episodes - trip to DC to see the grandbabies. We scampered home before the snow started falling. Here in southern VA we have snow, ice, sleet, all the good stuff. That pot of chili is starting to smell mighty nice!

I'm guessing Vivi is snowed in right proper.

Not liking Katia but she is young and hopefully has a strong heart. I'm still trying to decide how she should die. Not hit by a bus, that could damage her heart. She'll probably trip over falling garments and break her neck! Poor Gigi, wonder how long the writers will make her (and us) suffer while we wait for Katia to self destruct.

Now that Fiorella gave Vitto all her money, maybe he will open a nice Italian restaurant in, oh I don't know, Italy?? Or Australia, or Greenland..... Just leave that letter behind for an honest person to find, eh?

Lila, what a delightfull recap, Im glad your
Fingers didn't freeze. Thank you much. I saw snow flurrys here In north florida where I live.
Ok back to these somewhat interesting folk.

Assvaldo: I will never forgive you for this. Ok
Stop the presses butt hole is unforgiving. O
What will we ever do without his forgiveness.
He's afraid the italians are going to take money that none of those sorry lazy lo-lifes
Worked for. And 1/2 of what they want is stolen. Don't you wish you had a family like
That? NO!!!!!
I was just wishing for this one time that fio really would have shut her big mouth and let the vitto tell her what he had to tell her, but no. They"ll drag this out. What we got 30 some Episodes left? she stabbed him in his male pride when she told him "pedro and I got married". she's going to have to learn to let people talk when they're trying to tell her something or she'll miss something very important, like Now.

So, there making eloisa nice? Is she going to
Blow up from so much niceness? Gael needs
Some running shoes, skankia is going to be trouble. Papa augustin should open his eyes
Babygirl is a "problem child". Someone said
In a ealier comment that she might be the
Reason for he and his wife's (her moms) split.
Freddy looked utterly ridiculous trying to sit
In Eloisa's chair, and then taking her plate.
Really freddy, how old are you?

I Agree tofie, Eloisa's turn around is to Fast.
That old bird is up to something. I hope we're
Wrong but, this tn has had a lot of surprises so far.

Emilia, katia could accidentally get shot while assvaldo is trying to kill Fiorella, he hits katia instead. just like everything else in assyboy's life he can't aim straight. Lets hope the bullet
Misses her heart. Yall we're not terrible people, We're just tryin to fine a heart for our little gigi. I would prefer that it was a nice person, but then that would mean that a nice person would have to get killed accidentally. And that sometimes happens in TN but there are so many nasty people in this tn one of them will probably end up dying and giving her the heart. We could just forget how nasty they were and just be happy that our little GiGi has a new working healthy heart. :-D

Like your thinking Nina. Bothersome character messing with the good folks, oh no you don't. Patio will go into overdrive to work the anvils for the likes of a sub-sub-sub character like Skankia. However, before that happens, considering how willing Skankia seems to get horizontal, I wouldn't put it past Asshat to give her a test drive. And knowing how much the Uni editor loves Asshat I'm sure if it happens we'll be so " blessed" to have to watch every agonizing minute. Maybe if we're lucky, if Asshat's plan backfires, it takes him out too.

I think when my boss comments how well I can keep my temper and patience dealing with some of the difficult people I have to come across daily, I'll just tell him I plan murders and deaths for fun with my TN compadres and get out all my frustrations.

Daisynjay

Mille grazie, Emilia! Grazie tantissimo!

I'm glad you're home safely! I'm watching live coverage of DC on the Weather Channel and they nailed the storm this time. My gosh, it does look epic! Wow! Sunny sky hear today in my part of Michigan and in the coming week we're going to be in the upper 30s which is almost a heat wave compared to a few days of highs in the teens a few days ago. NOT complaining!

Yah, please check in Vivi!

You are on my wavelength, Emilia:

Poor Gigi, wonder how long the writers will make her (and us) suffer while we wait for Katia to self destruct.

I just hope if Gigi gets her heart, the rest of her mortal body and that beautiful soul of hers will neutralize the meanness in Skankia's cardiac!

I bet we're not done with Vitto. I don't care to speculate on what shenanigans he could involve Fifi in next!

Grazie tantissimo, Nina! No, hon, we're not in the bad weather. It's my friends on on the east coast.

I was just wishing for this one time that fio really would have shut her big mouth and let the vitto tell her what he had to tell her, but no.

Have to say I agree with you, Nina. But on the other hand, I'd rather she find out from Julieta and then get the letter so she can see that Vitto betrayed her Father's trust and is an overall dishonest jerk!

I was the one who said Skankia could be responsible for their marriage breaking up. I could see Augustin having to protectively leave his wife to keep Skankia's hands off him. It's ugly, but it does happen. There's no evidence for that, its just me wanting to say something mean about Katia, I dislike her so!

OMG, Daisy, you are so right here and considering how the director seems to love to have Assvaldo making out on screen, this could happen:

However, before that happens, considering how willing Skankia seems to get horizontal, I wouldn't put it past Asshat to give her a test drive.

It's almost guaranteed. They were both pissed about Gael and Gigi being together. I'm sure she's going tell Ass about Gael's true identity! Skank!

Oops. I should finish the comments before I start writing my response but I can see we're on the same wavelength!

This is just a hoot:

I think when my boss comments how well I can keep my temper and patience dealing with some of the difficult people I have to come across daily, I'll just tell him I plan murders and deaths for fun with my TN compadres and get out all my frustrations.

" I could see Augustin having to protectively leave his wife to keep Skankia's hands off him"
Doubtful that was the case, because if it was, he would not be traveling to Mexico alone with her.

Like I said, Doris, I'm just trying to be mean cause I hate Skankia!

Hey, wait a minute. Didn't she come on her own from Portugal? Hmmmmm. . . .

Oh good afternoon my dear friends. I was laughing so much with your hilarious comments. Surely Assvaldo would be so happy to have his sex dose with Skankia, oh he was so joyful when he met her and he doesn't mind going by the world sleeping with every woman that crosses up in his path and even worst, he makes it at the sight of everybody.

I also think that if Skankia was capable of getting undressed in front of Gael, she surely could have done that with Agustin. I could perfectly imagine her telling her mom that Agustin was harrasing her but then in that case why would he still being taking care of her? Anyway, I noticed that she doesn't talk to him as her daddy.

Lila - can't remember if she came from Portugal separately. Whatever.... She is trouble.

Hey, Marla! Yep. I sure hope they wrap her part up in this quickly, hopefully with a heart donation. The writers sure like to torture the vulnerable, don't they: Gianna and Pilar are really being bullied. Of course, what Pilar has gone through takes the cake!

I'm here and well, peeps!

Lila, thank you for another brilliant recap. I'll be back to comment tomorrow, after watching the episode.

Hey, Vivi! Mille grazie! Glad to hear you're fine. I'd love to hear about the storm tomorrow. I'm kind of a weather geek (or just boring, watching the weather channel since its inception) and I'd love to hear about if it lived up to the hype! Take care. See you tomorrow!

Vivi, it seems DC really bore the brunt of this storm.

Glad you are safe and sound...

Diana

I'm back, amigos! And I've finally seen the episode. Thank you again, Lila. I am so impressed with you and Sneaky giving us multiple, high quality recaps each week.

I too wonder why Eloisa is so calm in the face of Federica's threats. And why the heck didn't she press charges against her for drugging her and leaving her on the streets, after stealing money from her?

Tired of Vitto hanging on to that letter. Time for him, Diana, and Beto to walk off into the sunset.

I was very happy that Gael told Eloisa and Ass that Gi is his novia, and Katia is not. At this point, I think it would be a blessing for them to also find out he's not an Angeles. Ass wouldn't ever speak to him again, and he'd likely be shoved out of the mansion. All good things to me.

Fi and Pedro look really good together, and the writers have certainly now given them a long run of being happy together. Fi really didn't seem to think that her nausea meant she was pregnant. Was she just being coy, or is something really wrong with her health-wise, or are the writers just messing with us?

Hi Vivi! Good to see you and know you are okay.

Best guess about Eloisa not pressing charges against Fedeloca is to "avoid public scandal". Isn't that Elo's mantra?

Ciao, Vivi, y mille grazie! You survived Jonas!

Betito's cute but I have to agree with this:

Tired of Vitto hanging on to that letter. Time for him, Diana, and Beto to walk off into the sunset.

Outing him as a not-Angeles will surely be what Katia is up to. If Gael gives in to her threats I will be VERY disappointed in him. I can't see that, though, not at this point. I agree that leaving the mansion would be good. Although she's still on the property, Roxi survived being kicked out of the big house.

You know, Vivi, I've thought about Fifi's non-reaction to nausea. Maybe she's just so tied up in caring for and comforting others they're going to reveal it as a surprise to her? Pedro certainly seems to think she might be pregnant. Weird.

Agree Doris. Maybe it's me reading into it but it all goes under the column of Eloisa's cool in the face of Freddie's threats. I hope whatever she knows gets revealed soon but I've got a feeling Freddie and the Ass are going to be acting out right up until the last episode.

The way episodes are being combined, this thing should be going into ultimas semanas soon. I wonder what will replace it?

Grazie tanto, Lila and Sneaky. Just caught up after a couple of weeks of too busy, including multiple episode nights of Poder. The blizzard was good for something.

Irina Baeva (Katya) must have done this role as her audition for Poder. She's up to the same tricks but looks completely wrong as a blonde. She's also doing this number on the same actor (whom I have to say looks better in Poder). Totally agree that Augustin's divorce had to have had something to do with her but we won't know that unless Gael brings it up with him.

Federica should be in prison for what she did to Helloisa. This has me seriously worried that the evil ones will get out of this scot-free.

Urban!. Mille grazie! Glad you're back! On my phone..a little awkward. What do you think of Eloisa's conversion?

Not quite buying it yet. The only thing that makes it plausible is the same thing that will make us all angry during the finale: This is a "light-hearted" story and the main villains will not get the punishments they so richly deserve. Read my closing remarks on MCET for how I feel about this.

Well, glad you're back.. Should be almost Karmaggedon time!

Based on what has aired we have 31 Mexican-length episodes to go; I think they did the last two as a two-hour finale.

I wonder how the original audience felt about the ending (Not that I know what that is yet). If nobody got a serious anvil who deserves it I'm done with comedy-oriented series.

Okay, how about this: Frederica can kill Dante and Ass and then be put in Pilar's old room in the psych hospital to spend the next 20 years. No, that's not really fair to Freddie, she was bad but she had some good excuses. Maybe just give her 10 years in the hospital where she can regain her sanity and perhaps begin a lucrative career in clothing design.
And, by the way, Go Broncos!
Ann C.

And they won!

Another big, big bunch of thanks and admiration to you, Lila. You are truly fabulous and I appreciate all of your reports!
Ann C

Yeah Urban we are almost near the end but I like I said one time, in Mexico the last two weeks of the novela (episodes 166-175) the episodes lasted 20 minutes or less because it was sharing his space with Amor de Barrio. So I think that Univision is gonna combine those 10 episodes in only 5 or less episodes when the novela gets to that point. And the ending of the novela was almost 2 hours and I wonder if Univision is going to edit it. They use to do that when it is long.

Ann C! Grazie, grazie! Whoa, you're ready for karmageddon! Freddie. I would say let her find out she's not an Angeles and then hire her as an apprentice to Simoneta but that's not fair to Simoneta nor the Angeles household: she'd poison everybody! Agree with offing the Ass! :)

How about Dante? What do we think should happen to him?
Ann C

Sit dante in a room and lock the door, inlarge that picture of maximo, you know, the one
That eloisa spits at every now and then, and
He'd have to stare at it for however many yesrs he kept pilar in the mental hospital. Let
Him see what it feels like to be locked up with Nothing to think about but what maximo
told him to do, and then every now and then switch that photo out for one Of freddy. That'll drive him nuts. What goes around comes around. BAM!!!!!

Bury him alive the same way he helped keep Pilar buried alive in a mental hospital.

That may be too easy. He'd soon die, the way he's always wheezing.

Lock him in a prison for the criminally insane....forever.

Thank you Lila, it was an amazing recap. Katia seems like a new devil to go against the happy couples, it's funny how Osvaldo thinks Fiorella is pregnant instead of his wife. Also that is not to say Fiorella can't eventually become pregnant.

Elorej

This pregnancy mess is stupid because even if Sonia torn down her result papers they had her name and last name, they said Sonia Roldan and not Fiorella Bianchi. So Ass should have had read Sonia or Roldan unless that he is an illiterate but with all his grandparents money he should have gone to the best colleges, oh yeah maybe he bribed his teachers to obtain good grades. Oh by the way, he should already know when his wife is pregnant because this is the third one.

Elorej! Buongiorno e mille grazie! Yah. Assvaldo is not the brains of the operation at all. He has the nerve to put Sonia down as a "vulgar cabaret singer", though he is supposed to be trying to change, he is still ashamed of her. He is supposedly high born and superior because he's rich but he has little common sense, zero ethics, business or personal and he is unable to examine his own strange cravings and symptoms or even imagine Sonia could be pregnant because he has NO deep, instinctive loving bond with her. Interesting that this is contrasted with Pedro who has all these qualities Assvaldo lacks including that link with Fiorella. He thinks she could be pregnant, and she probably is.

Hey, anybody here ever read anything by Dominick Dunne? If you want to know anything about the rich and shameless, he's your man of the hour.

Sonia's lipstick -- which is I guess the evidence that she's on the warpath or something -- doesn't suit her. She looks harder, about 10 years older, and about a million dollars cheaper.

When I sold my mother's house after she died the buyer's lawyer looked like she'd attended a few too many screenings of Erin Brockovich and she sounded like Fran Dresher. She was 90 minutes late to the closing and wouldn't have gotten there at all if the finance company's lawyer hadn't been repeatedly calling her cell. She spent 80% of the meeting on her cell with another client. I felt sorry for the buyer. DD's world would have loved that because it showed that a law degree is no guarantee of class.

Yah! what a nighmare that "lawyer" sounds like! Re Sonia's lipstick, it fits because that is exactly how they're trying to portray her and the self-concept she's been browbeaten into by the Angeles: ". . .harder, about 10 years older, and about a million dollars cheaper."
There is a glimmer of awakening and pride after she got rid of Benigno and gang. The only help Assvaldo supplied was accidentally and unintentional display of his doggish behavior.

Haven't read Dominick Dunne. I read a few of your recaps for PyP, isn't that his style you're echoing?

Yes. He was a Victorian writer with a harder edge, as though Edith Wharton and Dashiell Hammett were both mentoring him. Didn't know that before I read his first novel and now I want to read every word he ever wrote.

UrbanA - Thank you for mentioning Sonia's lipstick. Over the past couple of weeks --- ever since she caught Assvaldo & Aitana revolcandose and took charge of her life, I thought her lipstick color changed to a darker, harder, unflattering color. I never said anything here because I thought it was my imagination, or bad memory of earlier episodes.

In telenovelaland, usually a female character's hairstyle changes, to signal a new etapa in her life. This is the first time a lipstick color has been used.

Oh, and no, a law degree is absolutely no guarantee of class.

It's not your imagination, Doris; the same thing happens in PyP when Nina changes from coral to purple or -- more recently -- hooker pink. The latter didn't even match the dress. It's also more about attitude than nueva etapa because Nina's purple lipstick is her war paint.
