Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse #105 1-25-16 The Perils of Fiorella!

Ciao a tutti!  Andiamo!  I’m going to combine scenes tonight.  Hope that helps with the flow.

False pregnancy confirmation.  Assvaldo leaves Fiorella’s room just before Pedro and Fiorella enter.  She shows Pedro both halves of the pregnancy test print out.  Pedro wonders aloud why Sonia and Assvaldo don’t want anyone to know.

Sonia provides the answer in a tearful soliloquy:  She tells her baby to be strong and to hold on to life.  Daddy is very egotistical and so she must remain quiet for now and maybe it’s time to leave her velvet –lined hell.  She tells the baby she has a chance to do what she really loves, to sing.  Singing before an adoring crowd and the applause is a special joy.  She decides she can’t leave now.  She doesn’t want to be poor again or condemn her baby to a life of poverty.  She rubs her stomach and concludes she may have to hang on a little longer as she slowly sinks down to the floor.

Skankia and Papi Chulo.  Katia stamps her foot and tells Augustin she DOES NOT like Gianna and she doesn’t want them together!   Augustin reminds Katia she is related to Gael.  She pouts she is not because he is NOT her father.  “Even though you don’t carry my blood, I raised you as a daughter and you cannot interfere in Gael’s life and decisions about who he wants to be with!”  We are spared further contact with this skank but there will be more skandom later.

Eloisa, Gael and Gianna have their little talk.  Eloisa tells them that she has made a lot of mistakes in her life and she doesn’t want this to be one more.  She gives them her blessing and Gianna explodes with joy, embracing and kissing Eloisa all over her cheeks.  Gael tries to do a little detective work asking if his Grandfather Maximo ever tried to stymie the relationship between his Parents.  Elo doesn’t think so and Gianna successfully changes the subject.  Eloisa’s only requirement is that Gianna take good care of Gael as he is often distracted.  She promises.  Oh darn.  Here’s something I thought about but forgot to kvetch over in comments:  Gael thinks that Alina should treat Pilar.  As his Psychologist, he thinks she is very skilled and professional.  Insert guffaw here.

A bit later we see Pedro meeting with Alina, asking her to treat Pilar and she agrees.  She levels with him that she thinks it will be very difficult for her to recover her mental equilibrium but she will work very hard to help her.  Domingo waltzes Pilar into the room.  She whirls over to Pedro and greets him with a hug and kiss.  Pedro introduces her to Alina.  Uh oh, Pilar doesn’t smile and even looks at Alina as if she smells something rotten and makes sure Pedro reads the displeasure on her face.  Hmmm, I think Pedro should trust Pilar’s instincts.  Somewhat later there is a similar scene between Pedro and Dr. Elizalde.  After reassuring Pedro that he is totally recovered from his trauma-provoked blindness, Pedro asks for his opinion on Pilar’s recovery.  Elizalde is not optimistic that she will ever recover.

Sergio and Julieta.  Sergio accompanies Julieta to her hotel and actually says he doesn’t know why she doesn’t want to stay at the ranch.  She has to tell him it’s because of Pilar and the horrendous crisis her reappearance has caused for the family.  She pulls her hand away when he tries to kiss it.  Santino enters the room and Sergio turns green.  Julieta tells him he must understand she and Santino have a child together and have to work together to find her.  The two men face off and Santino maintains he’s too mature to respond to Sergio’s provocation.  Sergio leaves in a huff.

Through the magic of editing the next time we see Sergio and Julieta they are back at the ranch talking about her feelings for Santino.  Sergio says he knows how much Julieta loves Santino and then he makes a startling confession.  [Thanks to Urban Anthropologist, I went back and listened and I believe I also hear "hace (viente y) cinco años"!  The "veinte y" is very faint and both English and Spanish captions say five and not twenty five.  People able to access a recording PLEASE weigh in!!]  (Twenty five?} or five years ago* at a costume party Sergio posed as Santino and scored some full-costume nookie from Julieta.  Yes, you heard me right.  There are all kinds of things I could say right here but . . . .yah, anayway, unlike me, Julieta doesn’t think it’s a bit funny and is outraged!  Turns out Sergio always knew about Santino and Julieta, didn’t know they had a child.  “That night I realized how much you loved that Italian guy.  I decided to run away without telling you anything.”  Julieta starts beating and yelling at Sergio that he abused her!  Apparently for the past five years she thought Santino had hit it and quit it but all the time it was Sergio boinking her under false pretenses!  Santino comes in and wants to know whats all the hub bub.  Julieta says Sergio is just drunk and he’ll be okay when he dries out.  Julieta leaves with Santino. [*I think perhaps it is supposed to be twenty five years ago.  Hard to tell with the costumes but I think Sergio, Julieta and Santino are young.]

Zip!  We are back with Santino and Julieta who won’t tell him exactly why she was going upside Sergio’s head.  They have something more important at hand:  they are waiting for the man who sent Julieta the picture of the man who adopted their daughter.  This is the same man whose call Julieta missed earlier, the secretive man who only wanted to talk to the two of them.  There is a knock on the door and there he is, they let him in .  He asks if they had any luck with the picture he sent.  He is not surprised that they have not.   Julieta asks his name and if he is related to the man who’s picture he sent.  His name is Álvaro and he is the adoptive father’s brother!

He shows them a picture of his mother when she was a young woman and tells the following story.  His family was rich and powerful back in the day.  When his mother was eighteen she fell in love with an Italian man and became pregnant.  They never married.  Her father was very conservative and demanded she put the baby up for adoption and threatened to kill the Italian man and wanted him and the baby out of her life forever so he took his baby and returned to Italy.  Julieta identifies with the young mother who suffered the same thing she did.  After all that drama his mother married another man and he, Álvaro was born.  He never knew any of this about his mother’s past.  Santino asks how did he find out.  After his mother died he was going through her things and found her diary and the picture of his brother which he sent to them.  He reads from the diary.  “I cannot bear the anguish that is ripping my soul apart.  I know that I have a son who lives in Italy with his father in abject poverty."   Julieta wants to know why she didn’t rescue her son, knowing exactly where he was?    Álvaro says times were different.  She couldn’t just haul off and go to Italy, abandoning her family in Mexico not to mention the scorn she would face for having had a baby out of wedlock.  Santino apologizes.  He never meant for Álvaro to expose such intimate family secrets, they just wanted to know more.  Álvaro wanted to know more as well and went to Italy to investigate and that is how his and Santino’s inquiries crossed.

Julieta asks what did Álvaro discover.  Well, his brother was in a hospital and had helped a baby who was injured in an accident.  He adopted the baby.  Julieta brightens.  That’s her baby!  He learned that the baby’s biological parents were looking for her and so he contacted them.  Julieta asks if the baby suffered any injuries as a result of the accident.  He only knows of a scar on her head, near her ear.

In case some of us haven’t caught on by now we are whisked away to the two love birds, Petey and Fifi.  Petey very conveniently embraces Fifi from behind and nuzzles her left ear and we see a two inch scar, still red twenty plus years after the accident.

This little drama was interspersed with a scene between Pedro and Fiorella in which she frets about those pictures of her mother in which she was absolutely not pregnant.  That, combined with the information Nicoletta gave her about the accidental destruction of the birth records and information from the town Priest proves she was not born in Maratea but brought there by her parents when she was one year old.  Fiorella feels there is still a blank space that needs to be filled in.  [Thank you, Vivi, for that on the Priest.]  Pedro gets a call.  It’s Vitto.  He’s had a pang of conscience and is about to tell her about Mario’s letter and her being adopted when there is a knock on Vitto’s door.  Diana answers.  It’s the police coming to investigate the accidental shooting of Vitto when he and Diana wrestled over the gun.  He begs off and says he will talk to her later and hangs up.  Diana goes to get the gun as the police requested.  Fiorella is puzzled and tells Pedro she doesn’t know what Vitto wanted to tell her.

Here’s the other skank action.  Awwww, poor Aitana is soooo lonely, she’s been smearing her mascara and fake lashes until she’s just a scary mess!  She cries to Roxi that even though she doesn’t love Pedro, she doesn’t want that Italian wench anywhere near him.  Oooopsie!  Too late!  Roxi tells her Pedro and Fiorella are married and indeed ran away together on the day of her NOT wedding.  ‘I KNEW IT!  I KNEW IT!”  Aitana stands up and screeches some other things and then flies out of the restaurant, scraggly hair and other patrons eyes following her.  Later in the employee kitchen, Roxi tells Quina, Gianna, Benni and Gael how Aitana freaked when she told her Petey and Fifi were married.  Gianna has an episode of rapid, unstable heart palpitations but quickly recovers.  I think it was set off by learning that Aitana and Roxi are friends.

Let’s finish with Santino and Julieta.  Again, courtesy of the Univision scissors, Santino had been gone for sometime and Julieta finds out he went and beat Sergio up!  Aw man!  No fair!  We didn’t get to see it.  Santino says he has tried to respect Juliet’s relationship, especially since she told him she was happy with Sergio.  “But I can’t let a man like that separate us.  I still love you like the first day we met and I can’t hold back what I feel any longer.”  And yes, he grabs her face and lays a cavernous “kiss” on her startled mouth!

Oh, peeps, I need to wrap this up.  This was supposed to be an economy recap!

Eloisa is still honkey dory with Fiorella and Pedro marrying but she thinks Fiorella needs some polish to turn her into a true Angeles angel.  She brings in a crew of five to primp and gussy up Fiorella and teach her some comportment that will meet the standards of the bougie society she is about to enter.  We have a montage of walking with books on her head, getting made up and coiffed.  Voila!  Awww, we know she’s high class now!  Her hair is straight!  Pedro approves.  She’s more than a Princess; she is the Queen of his heart!

Finally, Freddie puts her “bump off Fifi” plan into action.  She buys theater tickets for Gael and Gigi and has Dante steal Gigi’s phone.  Ass boy asks Pedro to call a special board meeting.  Pedro thinks it's a good idea.  Pedro's purpose is to level with the Japanese about the current challenge to the Angeles Empire by a family member before they hear of it in the press.  This will also keep Pedro occupied in the evening.  Pedro also charges Ass with making sure the transfer of Gabriel's property to Freddie is made.  The same evening Assvaldo is to leave Sonia’s comeback debut at the party, go to an address given him by Freddie and wait for Fiorella who will be directed there by a fake text from Gianna.  It won’t be a text from Gianna because Freddie has her phone and will be the one sending the text.  All of this plays out and, yes, we have a brief scene of Sonia on stage in a smoky night club lip sinking to a song that’s too high-pitched but the crowd obviously loves it.  Assvaldo leaves after standing and clapping heartily four or five times from the front row.   Sonia sadly notices his empty chair.  Oh well, soak up the other applause, Sonia!

Freddie wants Assvaldo to personally kill Fiorella, having earlier rejected his suggestion to hire a hit man.  He actually is reluctant because she is pregnant but he gets over that when Freddie reminds him his ass is going to be out on the street with everybody else if he doesn’t help.  Dante demands to know what Freddie is talking about so intensely with Assvaldo.  She tells him she plans to kill two birds with one stone:  Have Fiorella killed and Assvaldo put away for her murder!  And how is it that Fiorella ends up where Freddie wants her?  Dante lies and says Eloisa is out of her medicine and nobody is around to get it and would she go.  Of course she says yes and, oh, nobody is there to drive her, could she call a cab.  She does and he gives her the prescription.  On her way the fake text comes supposedly from Gianna saying that she and Gael have been mugged outside the theater and don’t have money and she can’t call her because the battery is low.  Freddie, posing as Gianna gives her an address to meet her and Gael.  Fiorella arrives to room 372 at a hotel.  Back in a second.

Pedro arrives at ACorp for the special board meeting with the Japanese and finds a crazed Aitana in his office.  She’s got it looking as trashy as she is.  RPC.  She confronts him about Fiorella and he finally tells her she used him.  This deflates her momentarily but she threatens him as she leaves that she’s going to be watching his and Fiorella’s every move!

Pedro finally meets with the board members and the Japanese and is telling them about his family’s long time stewardship of ACorp and this is reassuring to the Japanese as it represents stability.  In shashays Freddie who steamrolls Pedro and takes over the board meeting.  “This company was cofounded by my father, Gabriel Angeles and his brother, Maximo.  Years later Maximo defrauded his own brother.  Now I, as his only legal heir, will recover what was stolen and become the new president of ACorp."  Freddie brazenly smiles in Pedro’s face and I so want to smash hers in.

So, back with Fiorella.  She enters room 372 softly voicing confusion as to why Gael and Gianna are there.  Assvaldo steps forward and whacks her hard on the head with the butt of a gun, knocking her unconscious to the bed.  He brandishes the gun and looks down at her menacingly.

I need to stop planning to be brief because every time I do it comes out NOT! I know this was a smoosher. Have at it, peeps!

Did Univision combine this episode? What Mexican episode are we on from the Mexican broadcast?

If anybody can get back to me I would appreciate it. Thank you. :-)

Good night Angie. This was an editing of episodes 146 and 147. Since the novela started, Univision has horribly edited it. They cut too much scenes and most of the time important details but oh well the novela was way too long.

Gracias Lila!! Lovely recap and thanks for adding some detail we didn't see. Have to admit, this episode didn't hold my attention very well, but I did watch that jump the shark Sergio scene with his confession. I had already wanted to smack him for the jealous move when Santino walked in. (I was yelling at the TV...go comfort your wife!)
But then that confession...first let me say, did he say five years because no way in you know where was those actors in the costumes five years ago except for him. I recognized him. That was stupid.) Anyway, WTH?? is all I'll say on that. Nope, Sergio doesn't get Julietta. I won't get into what I feel that little masguerade really was, but no. He better be odd man out now.

I'm of the mind that maybe Petey, Fi,Gael and Gia can take momma Pilar and go move to HER house and get away from the vipers. Actually nicer house and location anyway.

My patience with petulant Freddie has peaked. Her childish behavior is making her look foolish anyway and no one should be taking her serious, least of all investors and a business board. But this is a TN...

Yeah, Papa C sighting...boo it was with Skankia. Honestly, get her hit by the bus already and let's move on.

Daisynjay

Buongiorno e grazie tantissimo, Daisynjay! Girl, that confession of Sergio's was just too much! Yah, it was waaaay stoopid! If Julieta can't tell one man from the other in that most intimate moment, hey, even from his kiss or that Mexican accent Sergio has when he speaks Italian then she doesn't deserve either one! That was the most hilarious break up I have ever seen! Bottom line indeed, Sergio doesn't get Julieta. Great, let him go make up for his years of being a jerk husband and help Pilar heal!

I'm of the mind that maybe Petey, Fi,Gael and Gia can take momma Pilar and go move to HER house and get away from the vipers. Actually nicer house and location anyway.

Yah! Great idea! That would be 90% of the cure right there!

ITA about Freddie. Eloisa knows something. I wish she would just pull the rug from under Freddie and put her out of our misery!

Yeah, Papa C sighting...boo it was with Skankia. Honestly, get her hit by the bus already and let's move on.

Amen!

Grazie tanto, Lila. This is a horrible editing job because two things about Skankia got snipped that I think are important:

This would have occurred in the middle if there had been no editing: When Gael was talking to Augustin as he had promised Gianna Katya came into the room and accused him of having raped her. Natually he denied it and Augustin suggested that they talk later. Gael left and lo and behold, Katya has pulled crap like this before and her padrastra has her number. He let her have it and forced an apology out of her.

However, most viewers probably should get the same bad vibe I got later when she showed up in the servants' hall at the ranch to apologise Gael and Gianna and invite them to dinner. They declined the invitation because they had theatre tickets and they said something about "another time." I'm giving 3 to 1 odds that she tries to poison Gianna.

#146

Hartana is clearly trying to use Rox, who doesn't seem to be falling for it. Good.

Federica's new wardrobe and redecorating of her bedroom is her statement of ownership of everything. Here's hoping Helloisa knows something that can stop her. Note the black wizard painting on the wall.

I thought I heard "25 years" rather than 5 years. If this is the case, the flashback to the masked ball in Italy is disturbing. Considering the timing it could mean that Sergio is Fiorella's sperm donor. If so then who is Pedro's? Makes no sense in view of Santino's reaction to Fiorella and the logical finale reveal that she would be his daughter and therefore a duchess.

#147

Sonia's singing isn't consistent with her speaking voice. She sounds like a child.

Hartana is still on our screens. GRRRRR.

Federica could bankrupt the company with her announcement to the board. It will take only another minute for them to see that there is tremendous conflict among these family members.

Hey, Lila, just loved this. I am beginning to be confused with how this plot is unfolding, but your explanations are helping me.

Sergio was first presented as a worthless sot, then as a man pinning after his deceased and beloved wife, and now he is just a guy who has been sniffing after Jules for his entire life. Who is this guy anyway. Who knew that you can seduce a woman by simply wearing a party mask?

I thought Sonia's singing gig was the best we've heard so far. I'm glad she didn't screw up her comeback moment with an off key performance.

So the conniving Freddie is planning to implicate Assman in Fi's murder? Then she barges into the delicate negotiations with the Japanese customers and blows their confidence. Yeah, she is surely the person to be at the helm of Acorp.

Why is Dante still playing second fiddle in her orchestra?

Daisynjay, your idea about moving to Pilar's place is great! I have long thought that the good guys should just extricate themselves from all the drama, and let the cards fall where they may.

Thanks again, Lila. Love your work, and your dedication to this project.

David

Buongiorno e grazie tantissimo, Urbanita!

Thank you for the fill ins. I cannot believe what you're telling me! Skankia accused Gael of rape! Thank goodness Papi Chulo has her number! I'm kinda glad they cut that! Saved me some cussin' and fussin'!

This is crucial, Urban. I'm going to have to go back and listen:

I thought I heard "25 years" rather than 5 years.

Let me listen and try to change it before I go to work. I will finish the rest of your comment then. Grazie!!!

Thanks so much, Lila, for making sense of this crazy episode. I heard 25 years for the masked seduction too. Yep. It's over for Juli and Sergio.

Fi knows she came to Maratea when she was one because the town priest told her friend.

Wow. The skank accused Gael of rape? If Augie knew she was like this, why bring her to Mexico? Leave that crazy beyotch in Portugal with her mother.

Just how many items of proof that Fi is Juli's kid do we need? There's a letter, there are pictures, and now a scar too. Ya. Basta! We get it, Writers. Now, let someone actually connect the damn dots.

Upshot, Fi and Gi now have an uncle. And actually biological relative for Gi.

Added a note in the recap about the confusion of the dates. I see others of my friends have commented. Late for work. Catch y'all later!

OK, now we have a wealthy relative for Gianna as well. That's a good thing because ow there will be no excuse for anyone to disapprove of either of these girls.

Dr Elizalde isn't a shrink, but Pilar's 20 years of captivity would be extremely difficult for her to recover from. Alina making a house call isn't good for all the reasons we already know, but I guess that bringing Pilar to her office would be harder at this point.

Helloisa's snobbery is still there, making Fiorella take "deportment" lessons. There is nothing wrong with her Spanish or her Italian accent. Also, considering how tall she is those stiletto heels are too high. Pedro is not the tallest man in Mexico.

LOL, Urban! No, Fi doesn't need to be in high heels if she's going to be standing next to Pedro. Seems to me that neither Freddie nor Rox took or benefited from those deportment classes, the way they slouch and lean all over everything. That was never Fi's problem.

I left out the details but when Katya tried to justify her moves on Gael Augustin told her "But he's your brother." She came back with "But you're not my father" and his response was that he raised her so that makes her his daughter. Net net, she's an attention whore.

During her introduction to Gia and Rox it was obvious that both of them had her number.

Lila – A big thank you for the recap! And the snark!
There are three scenes you had that were never on my screen:
The first one “false pregnancy confirmation”, The Aitana/Roxy scene, and any scene with Katia.
QTH is going on with my local Univision feed, lately?

ITA with The Patio, that whole masked ball seduction scene was creepy and bizarre on a few levels; don’t get me started. Fi can NOT be the result of that coupling because she would be married to and preggers by her half-brother! Eeew. Just, eeew.
Sergio is just such a loser and Eloisa is responsible for this. Maybe also Maximo. Who knows? But such a sad waste of a human being …

If that happened 25 years ago, then just how old is Fiorella? I always thought she was in her early twenties.

I had forgotten about Pilar’s little house. Yes, that would be a very nice place for her to live --- away from the crazy at casa loca.

Urban, ITA on Freddie's antics at the board meeting. She neither knows nor cares about what ACorp is. She just wants to be top dog, bitch in her case, and lift her leg and piss all over the rest of the Angeles family. If I were an investor or had stricken a deal with ACorp, I would see how to get the hell out and take my interests and money elsewhere!

Buongiorno, David e mille grazie! You are right to be confused about Sergio. I think this whole boinking behind a mask thing is a patch the writers pulled out of their you know where to plug a hole! It makes no sense!

Who knew that you can seduce a woman by simply wearing a party mask?
Uh, yeah. Who wrote that plot point, an androgynous, asexual alien studying human mating rituals!?

Yes, Sonia's singing, even though the voice was mismatched, was a successful comeback for her! I'm glad for her, too!

David. Thanks for reminding me of something. I will go back and put it in! So the conniving Freddie is planning to implicate Assman in Fi's murder?

Grazie, David and all my friends. I'm going to fix that bit I just mentioned. I was off yesterday and need to do some stuff. Please keep the ball rolling and please weigh in on the 5 years vs. 25 years thing. Back with you soon, I hope!

I would think that Pedro and Sergio would realize that Pilar would be more at peace in her own, beloved country house, instead of in the place owned by the man who had her tortured and imprisoned. Duh!

Ok, I actually thought the writers were truly going there with insinuating that Sergio was going to turn out to be Fi's father, and Julie looked way too young, so 25 makes way more sense.

However, that said, Santino wouldn't be thinking he and Julietta have a daughter if they hadn't eventually got together. So maybe this is all a red herring.

Anyway, the whole the wrong guy is seducing you and doesn't want you to know has a VERY disturbing vibe to me and Sergio really comes off as total idiot now. Heck, I'm no huge fan of Juliette, but both she and Pilar deserve better. He may good to his momma and NOW to his son, but he's a jerk with women. Period.

Now, if for some stoopid reason they go there with Sergio as the sperm donor, lord help us, that could make my fondest wish come true---the twist that Petey is Pilar's and most likely Gabe's son, or someone's son, but not an Angeles. Although this plot line could be totally independent of Fi's parentage story. If it happens that it is Gabe, who's older - Petey or Freddie? I would suspect if they go there, it would be Petey? Oh heck...they need to lose it all! Go work for a real living and be happy. (well except for Freddie).

And wow--thanks UA for the info we missed on Skankia. Seriously, Mr. Sweet Eyes, send the chicka back to Portugal. Why is she there anyway?

Daisynjay

Vivi, I agree with your point about Pilar's property.

When Federica promised Assvaldo his share I knew she was full of it. That she insisted he kill Fiorella himself was the giveaway. I knew she intended to either hold it over his head or turn him in ASAP so he would get nada. Sonia's baby is a legit heir(ess) to a part of this fortune and Federica wants to keep it all. She has no grounds.

I can't wait for her to find out that Dante is her father's killer. That will send her to the manicomio, where she already belongs.

I think Federica is supposed to be older than Pedro, but the way Televisa casts one never knows. What is absolutely shocking is that she has no proper education that would qualify her to participate in the family business. Someone refresh my memory on why she is a spinster in a family that is so high on marrying "appropriately."

Me thanks you Lila.

"As his Psychologist, he thinks she is very skilled and professional. Insert guffaw here"

"and we see a two inch scar, still red twenty plus years after the accident"

Why does Petey's executive assistant still have a job? In my experience an executive assistant is the single most powerful person in the organization. They know everything and guard access with their life. Aitiana perched in Petey's ransacked office would never happen.

Never liked the dude so to find out the creeper playboy tricked Juliette on par. How many women has this scumbag date raped?

I so wish that Freddie wasn't a nut. It makes it hard to support her legitimate claim but then if she got hers Petey would actually have to get a real job. Easier to write her a psycho killer than convince us Petey is for real.

Osvaldo would have killed Fifi if he hit her that hard with a pistol

Actually, Tofie, I would take your question one step further: Why hasn't the security staff at ACorp been given photos of Cousin Itt and her parents and told they are permanently banned from the premises?

I agree that Manchild Sergio is a poor relationship bet for Julieta. Or any other woman. Unfortunately we don't have adequate information to decide who deserves more blame (Maximo or Helloisa?).

Does anyone remember "High Road to China"? In that movie a distressed Bess Armstrong hired a drunken, womanizing ex-war ace pilot Tom Selleck to fly her to meet her father who was using his scientific expertise to defend a small Chinese village against a rival war lord. Bess was doing this because she would lose her inheritance to her father's unscrupulous business partner. Come to find out, the company was a shell, and all the real value of the business venture resided in Bess's father's inventive mind.

I hope Acorp is like this, that they give the whole worthless thing to Federika, and retire to Pilar's place sipping mint juleps and tequila, and celebrating sunsets.

David

Lila, your recaps are never, ever of the “economy” variety! They are luscious and full bodied – like a fine wine.

“We are spared further contact with this skank but there will be more skandom later” and “Awww, we know she’s high class now! Her hair is straight” had me laughing away.

I was horrified by Sergio's admission. Did we ever have a full grasp of his character? I kept going back and forth on how I felt about him- he seemed sincere in some instances and completely insincere in others. He has been changed and actions altered several times here that make no sense (to me anyway) simply to suit this overlong plot line. Here he is, one minute seemingly crying bitter and inconsolable tears over his long lost wife, and then the next admitting what he did to Julieta! Not buying it. Or liking it.

Pilar made no secret of her feelings for Pilar did she? “Pilar doesn’t smile and even looks at Pilar as if she smells something rotten” summed it up perfectly.

tofie, I agree that Os really hit Fiorella hard. Looks like a lot of crying and angst in store - I hate kidnapping plots. Ack.

Thank you Lila!

Diana

More skankdom coming. Oh how much you convey with so little Lila. Love your use of language. And always enjoy your tell-it-like-it-is recaps.

I guess I'm in the minority here but I thought Sonia's singing was shockingly awful. Just a screeeeeech! And a miserable contrast with her speaking voice which is fairly melodious and husky. Guess it's all in the eye of the beholder...or the ear, in this case.

And one more quibble: Why is it necessary to straighten Fiorella's here to make her more acceptable as an Angeles? There was no problem with Aitana's mangy mane, so why Fiorella? Mind you, she looked great in the new hairdo, but it's hard to make that actress look bad. Aitana, on the other hand...

Thanks Lila. I'm sure you were relieved to hear "ultimas semanas" today. And I agree with everyone else...while the captions said "cinco años" it had to be "veinticinco años" to make sense. And who makes love with a cumbersome mask on? Both icky and highly unlikely.

Ciao a tutti! Lemme see what y'all been talking about!

Grazie, Vivi! (@8:08) Ok, you heard 25 as well? Cool. Makes more sense. And thank you for that on the town Priest. I went back and added that in!

Just how many items of proof that Fi is Juli's kid do we need? There's a letter, there are pictures, and now a scar too. Ya. Basta! We get it, Writers. Now, let someone actually connect the damn dots.

Amen, Vivi! Enough already! I hate it when these folks get greedy and just draaaaag stuff out!

Mille grazie, Doris! Wow. I thought we all got the same broadcast! That is weird!

I don't now why they needed that costumed nookie story line. Just have Pedro decide he needs to make amends with and help HIS WIFE to heal! Sheesh!

I would think that Pedro and Sergio would realize that Pilar would be more at peace in her own, beloved country house, instead of in the place owned by the man who had her tortured and imprisoned. Duh!

Vivi @9:12. There you go, making sense again!

Daisynjay @ 9:17! OMG that makes my head spin but if they're going to have Sergio be Fi's dad, they HAVE to make him NOT Pedro's but that's dumb unless they are NOT implying that the costume boink was supposed to be Julieta's and Santino's first time together. They must have had an earlier boink....ah...it's just stoopid!

Urban @ 9:24 I can't wait for her to find out that Dante is her father's killer. That will send her to the manicomio, where she already belongs.

Yah! That would serve her right!

Tofita! Mille grazie! Excellent point about Aitana in the office. What happened to orders to security that she is never to set foot in ACorp again!

Tofie. Freddie being a nut has never made sense. I bet this whole thing they threw in about "Gabriel's birth" and his having robbed Maximo first will render Gabriel not only NOT an Angeles but a more gaping asshole than Maximo thus also rendering her claim illegitimate.

"mangy mane"

Oh Judy, you just made my day! Diana (still laughing)

David, I haven't seen "High Road to China" but I like that scenario. That would also serve Freddie right!

Diana! Girl, you do my heart so good! "Lucious and full bodied!" mille grazie!!

You nailed what the writers did to Sergio and how it's made us feel:

He has been changed and actions altered several times here that make no sense (to me anyway) simply to suit this overlong plot line. Here he is, one minute seemingly crying bitter and inconsolable tears over his long lost wife, and then the next admitting what he did to Julieta! Not buying it. Or liking it.

Maybe this is one of the last long, dragged out novelas the3y'll ever present. Didn't someone quote Uni in an article saying they're not going over six months anymore or some such?

Oops. looks like I have a boo boo to fix re Pilar's reaction!

Anywho, thank you, darlin'!

Fedeloca has not been reading her Tarot cards lately, or else they would indicate that Elo has an ace up her sleeve. Maybe Fed's cards hate her as much as we do.

Grazie, mille grazie, JudyB!

Judy, I thought her singing was awful but I realize they were presenting it as a hit. I don't know who chose that voice to represent her but it was ridiculous. Yah, so the audience was full of masochists or nice people that like screeching! That's funny!

ITA with you here:

And one more quibble: Why is it necessary to straighten Fiorella's here to make her more acceptable as an Angeles? There was no problem with Aitana's mangy mane, so why Fiorella?

I thought Fiorella's wavy, raven locks were sumptious and beautiful. Gringo would totally go gah gah over them. Somebody has got it in for wavy or curly hair but yah, Aitana's mop is OK? Maybe it's ok for blonds to have scraggly hair but if you're a brunette, it's gotta be straight?

JudyB! I totally missed "ultimas semanas!"

Praise the Lord!!!!!!!! WHOOO HOOOO!!!!!!!

I wish we could really be together and party when this thing is over. Jeezopete!

I am ready to say goodbye to Sergio forever after this ep. Do you think his heart would be suitable for Giana?
Lila, how do you manage to put out so many lovely and complete summaries so many nights when you also have a job to go to the next day? I know I could not do it - which is why we are all so grateful to you!
I did not hear "últimas semanas" here - but I guess it is about time. Thank you again, past and present recappers, for all the hard work.

Per a post yesterday there were 10 half-length episodes to accommodate the start of the replacement series, so there are now 25 episodes left unless Univision keep using the scissors.

This series aired in the afternoons in Mexico, so I wonder whether the afternoon ones were longer than the prime time? Enquiring minds want to know.

I was quite happy to hear Ultimas Semanas last night. It's not that this tn is bad, although I skipped out on watching a good chunk of it. It's just overly long and stuffed. Many of these storylines could have been moved along much more quickly. For the first time, I didn't mind Uni taking out the scissors, other than when they used in on characters I enjoy seeing- Gi, Gael, and Augustin.

Ann C, Sergio is an alcoholic, so I doubt his heart would be in any shape for transplanting. I'd rather see Rox learn to be a human being, so that means that Katya is the only truly expendable female.

LILA--awesome recap, thank you so much! Rushing to comment on my lunch hour.
The whole "Costume Boink" thing was mind-boggling. Did Sergio know Julieta that long ago, and what was he doing in Italy? And Julieta didn't notice "Santino" came to her room in a different costume?
I think Fiorella is supposed to be 21, so that lets Sergio off the hook to be the baby-daddy. However, all this suspension of disbelief is starting to cost my brain!

How do you say "jeezo-pete" in Spanish?
:o)

J in Oregon

The "costume boink"(LOL) was a plot device to break up Ju & Serg because the return of Pilar was not enough to make Sergio back off.
That said, it was a creepy and lame plot device.

I think Fiorella was 23 in the opening episode, which makes her 24 now.

All I know is they have thrown everything in this TN. Everything and still flinging with Fifi conked out.

I got so confused as the dude related the story of what happened with Fifi. Why couldn't it just be a guy that saw the car crash and ask for money to tell instead of a long drawn out round and round?

Come on, this is a kids show and can't believe they put the eyes wide shut thing in

We also got the popo knocking at the door at Vitto's cause the gun went off and people heard. Why not just ignore that happened instead of run off in a ditch.

J in Oregon- Sergio and Juli have known each other their whole lives. Juli's mom was BFF with Eloisa. Juli did her university studies in Italy and was there for a few years, during which time she and Santino were an item. So apparently, Sergio, who must have been married with child at that point, flew over to Italy, and had sex college-aged Juli under false pretenses, because he had always wanted to hit that and he saw an opportunity. It's creepy.

Since Fi and Gi's father's long lost, Mexican half-brother found enough info about his brother from his mother's documents to have a picture, find the town where he once lived, and even find out he adopted the baby from the random accident, why doesn't he also know his NAME? That makes no sense. If Juli and Santino got a name, that would cut down the search pretty damn quick.

Since you put it that way, Vivi (and I hate that use of "hit that". What are millennials thinking?), I also think this is creepy.

It's a crude term, Urban. But what Sergio did is crude, so it fits in my mind. It's just creepy.

I wonder how many of the original viewers wondered who Fiorella's sperm donor was after that episode and how many of them were rolling their eyes as I'm doing now.

I guess since Juli didn't seem to then doubt who is the father of her baby, that the date of the costume ball encounter didn't fit with the conception date.

I hope you're right, Vivi. The last thing we need now is a situation like in Mariana de la Noche.

Vivi, it's beyond creepy what Sergio pulled. I'm sure he'll blame the fact he was in his alcoholic daze at the time. They let him walk away with a happy ending and one of these ladies, BAH!!!

Ultimates?? I hadn't heard, and I think you made my day. Not to say I'm sick of this show, but the plot lines are starting to show the awfulness of a TN kicking and screaming into a longer shelf life than it should have been. Just get 'er done.

Sorry if I missed it, but anyone know what might be following? I do like the 7:00 EST slot, but not always a good choice of story.

Daisynjay

Not always a good story for this timeslot, that's for sure. LSdP should have been at 9 or 10.

Whoa! Look at all the comments. Lemme catch up!

Grazie tantissimo, Ann C! Awwww, shucks! Well, I love Spanish and I love a good story enjoyed in wonderful company such as all you are!

:D

J in Oregon! Mille grazie, my dear! J, the whole "costume boink" was a mind boink on the viewer!

Back in a sec!

Had to copy this whole comment, Vivi. In addition to your sterling memory, you hold these folk feet to the fire with illogical plot developments. Too bad they don't listen. This is an excellent point:

Since Fi and Gi's father's long lost, Mexican half-brother found enough info about his brother from his mother's documents to have a picture, find the town where he once lived, and even find out he adopted the baby from the random accident, why doesn't he also know his NAME? That makes no sense. If Juli and Santino got a name, that would cut down the search pretty damn quick.

I have three words--- telenovela beanie hats.

Ciao Lila e Grazie Hey Lila and thanks, I just got a chance to catch up on this and Fri's recaps
Ok gonna focus on the good.
Woo hoo Gael and Gianna can be together! Yay!

This was just lovely, so apropos "I think it was set off by learning that Aitana and Roxi are friends." IKR why are they friends?

um wait are they trying to fake us out that Pietro and Fiorella are half sibs?

Looks like I get lots of action tonight!

(I hesitate to even post this,(and I have no idea really) but I have a terrible feeling that Sonia is going to be the heart donor, please no, tn gods, I kinda like her)

Sneaky! YAAAAAY! Mille grazie, teamie! Oh Sneaky, they'd better not make Sonia the heart donor. Although Katia's heart is haughty, self-deluded, immature and fuels the deeds of a skank, I hope she's the donor and that Gianna's sweetness will infuse that heart with wholesomeness!

Breaking Now!!!

Hey, everybody, y'all know Sneaky two shoes! She's helping me keep the Patio tiki torches burning. I post her recaps generally on the next day in the afternoon. Tuesday posts on Wednesday afternoon and Thursday on Friday afternoon. Please check to see when her always snappy and fun recaps go up and give her some LOVE!!!!!

I thank Sneaky and will always be thankful for Diva, Sara, and Eli as well. They will always be my beloved teamies!!!

Thanks Sneaky. I've caught on to check later in the day for the recaps. And they are GREAT!!! Must see TV Recaps!

Daisynjay

Good afternoon patio friends. I want to include a list of another scenes that were cut yesterday.

Edited scenes besides Skankia:

Two scenes in which Sonia notices Ass a little bit nervous or anxious. In the first one, Ass convinces her that he wants to go to her singing show. At the beginning Sonia is kind of doubtful but ends up hugging him so happily for supporting her while Ass seems like if he is feeling guilty. In the other scene, Ass tells Sonia that he didn't sleep at all and when she asks him what worries him, he says that there is something at work that he has to do but doesn't want to do it. Sonia tells him not to do it then but Ass responds that it is neccesary. He asks to hug him ( I suppose to give him courage)
Another scene of Ass with Gael and Gianna in the employees house acting all kind with them and trying to convince Gianna of going to the musical. Gianna and Gael are looking at him kind of doubtfuls.

Continuation:

Ass interrupting a kissing scene of Fiorella and Pietro to inform him that he already prepared the Acorp meeting. He tells them that he is going to arrive a little bit late because he is going to a singing show of Sonia. Fiorella almost spills the beans of Sonia's pregnancy and she is all nice to Ass congratulating him for supporting his wife and innocently thinks that with that he is proving to be a good person (oh my poor fiorella) Ass kind of feels bad.
A scene of Ass with Sonia before her singing in which she is so happy that again tries to tell him that she is pregnant but her manager interrupts them.
A scene of Pilar telling Alina in therapy that Gabriel Angeles was killed.
A sweet scene of Roxana drinking hot chocolate while Joaquina remembers that when Roxana as a kid fell from a swing and when she was punished for ruining Helloisa's makeup she consoled her with hot chocolate.

Marla--Thank you so much for filling in the missing scenes!
Vivi--thanks for giving me the backstory on Sergio in Italy back in the day.
Sneaky--no, please don't let the writers give Sonja's heart to Gianna! I realize that Sonja is never going to have a nice stable familia with Oswaldo, but surely she deserves a happy-ish ending. I'm willing to give up Skankia's heart to Gianna, though.

Hi Lila, nice economy size recap :-D. What a messed up episode. But you etched it out quite well. Thank you for your hard work.
Now, did you mean "julieta tells him, you must understand "santino"and I have a child, and we must work together to find her"? Or did I miss something?
This comment is really late, my work don't
Allow me much time for reading anymore. So
I get mine in late.

So heres my two cents: what the hell is wrong with freddy? Wouldn't It really be so so
Weird if gigi got freddy's heart? Stranger stuff has happened.
Annnnd, I got this really scarry feeling that
Skankia could be juls and santino's baby girl,
But nobody deserves that miserable excuse of a human being for a child,. Papi chulo said
He raised her, how much time did he spend
With her? She is nothing like him. Shes more
Like her purple lipsticked moma. Ooooooooo
Suppose 'nina' has an identical twin livin over Accross town. Ok enough silliness. I'll
Try and read it earlier tomorrow. I'd love to see how fi gets out of this one. And I don't
Think assboy is going to kill her, hes to much
Of a coward. Like cousin freddy. I really want her to go away. Which ever way they choose,
Will be find with me.

Hi Nina, I think that Univision also cut out that scene that you mention of Julieta, Santino, and Sergio and a scene of Santino punching Sergio in the Angeles ranch. If I am not wrong, poor Fiorella witnessed the knock out.

As to Assboy, I think that maybe in the bottom of his heart he has some buried feelings but he was raised and probably abused by a cold father that converted him in his exact copy. I don't see him so convinced of killing Fiorella, even the times when he planned to kill Pietro he had to be drinking and drinking wine or whisky to have the courage of bumping him off.

Nina! There you are! Mille grazie! Thank you for the correction. Yes, it should read "Santino and I have a child"

Also, thank you to Diane for a correction in the Pilar meets Alina scene! I have corrected both errors!

Well, Nina, Freddie is so twisted, I would prefer she get someone else's heart. Freddie IS healthy physically, as far as we've been shown, so physiologically it could work. Now, since I believe there are immeasureable forces that impact the physical, that's why the idea of Freddie or Katia's (Skankia) heart would be bad but, on that same belief, perhaps the good in every other fiber of Gianna's being could overcome the twistedness of Freddie's heart, or the conniving skankiness of Katia's!

As for Skankia's being Julieta's and Santino's, there is no chance of that. The writers have hit us over the head with their "baby" being Fiorella. And we don't know who Skankia's mother is. She is some unknown woman in Portugal.

Nope. Assvaldo will NOT kill Fiorella. I don't know how it's going to turn out. I don't think Pedro will miraculously show up the way he did when he saved Julieta and Sergio from Anibal AND rescued baby Betito. I don't think they are ready to reveal that Assvaldo is behind her disappearance.

OR. . . I could be wrong! (About Pedro saving Fiorella).

Well Assvaldo has something that he can use to his benefit if he gets caught. Fiorella knows that he is going to be father and she is so a sweet girl that I dont think she would leave that child without his father sending him to prison.
