Muchacha Italiana Viene A Casarse #93 Wed 1/6/16 (Mex 129-130) Maximo, you're a jerk.

The big questions for tonight:
-Will Papi Chulo reveal his true Papi-hood to Gael?
-Will we find out what Fi's plan is?
-Will Roxi accept her enabling mama?

On the first score, there is too much yelling for Alina's taste and she opts to kick Gael out of her office so she can talk to Papi Chulo alone.  "So…you're his dad, huh?"  I guess she did see the resemblance.  She wants to make sure this is managed properly, since Gael is a recovering addict.

Fed's shoes are purple.  She tells Dante about the monthly deposits and he looks VERY worried.  Why?  It's not like she's any good at figuring things out.

Joaquina visits some friend of Maximo's.  If Eloisa ever kicked her out, Maximo told her to come to that guy.  He's been holding on to a document, which he now hands over.  Whatever it is, Joaquina takes one look and starts sobbing…gratefully?

Rox is bunking down in the university classroom because, if I heard this right, Pedro is going to be staying in Benito's room at his parents' place?!  She at least had the sense not to ask her "friend" Aitana for help.  They joke about Beni being her teacher for the night and whether they'll get caught for making too much noise.

The next morning, at school, Gael fills Gianna in on the appointment.  He at least knows that Papi Chulo, aka Agustin, had nothing to do with his drugging, and he's happy about that.  But he hasn't been able to reach Alina.  Gi tells him she and Fi have decided neither of them is adopted, it's just a mixup with the photos.  And then Rox and Beni come running up saying they got busted by the cops for spending the night at school.  "Help us!"  There's the sound of a whistle and the four of them go running down the hall together.

Os is counting his votes for A Corp president before they hatch.  Sonia is more cautious.  They're getting cozy with each other when a cranky Aitana and her smug dad walk in.  The board members start arriving.

Dante explains to El that he felt sick because she had a little…episode…and thought he was Maximo…and offered him a "whiskey"…but he'll be fine.  He never admits it was really a glass of her drops.  The notario that Joaquina went to see arrives…with Joaquina.  Oooooooh, it's a showdown! Letters from Maximo at high noon!

Vitto goes over to Diana's to fish for information about the theft of all his worldly goods.  "Seen anything…weird lately?"  Well, Anibal walks in, wearing a robe, flip-flops, and holding a beer.  Does that count?  Diana introduces him as a "family friend."  Vitto thinks he remembers Anibal from the restaurant, and he apparently has a good memory for the faces of his clients (better than his memory for his own misdeeds).  Diana hustles Vitto on out of there before he can get any more suspicious.

The post-adolescent foursome are back at Benito's parents' house.  Rancho news is shared, Beni and Roxi argue, Roxi feels bad for Pedro, Roxi and Gi snipe halfheartedly at each other.  So…I guess Pedro's not there now?  Wasn't there at all?  Do we care?

[SRS LEGAL BSNS ALERT!] In the office, the notario presents Maximo's letter and reads it…"Dear Eloisa, if you're hearing this it's because you found out about something I'm sure you didn't like--and I'm sorry."  Eloisa snarks that even dead, Maximo is predicting her reactions.  "It was never my intention to hurt you, but things are what they are, and we have to accept the consequences."  Eloisa figures he means SHE's the one who has to do the accepting.  "Eloisa, Joaquina is Roxana's mother, and Roxana is my daughter.  Attached is a DNA test that proves this.  Because of this, Señora Joaquina…"  Eloisa interrupts him to verify that her manipulative, cheating, lying, ex-lover-hiring, rat bastard of a husband really called Joaquina "Señora."  "Señora Joaquina should stay as a permanent employee at the Ranch, and, should she be dismissed, she will be entitled to compensation.  Roxana should never be abandoned by the Angeles family.  The way I will assure this is through a trust created specifically for this purpose, with resources from A Corp."  Ha, Fed's going to flip when she finds out this is where the money was going.  Eloisa's furious she now "has to" support both Joaquina and Roxi.  The notario tells her to calm down.  She seems fairly calm to me, especially after yesterday's outburst.  The notario explains that she's also incorrect.  SHE won't be supporting them.  The trust is separate from the money Maximo left to the Angeles family.  Yes, Eloisa did inherit all of that, and she is supposed to decide what and how much everyone else will receive…but it's clear to the notario that Maximo wanted to avoid a confrontation.  "What he should have avoided was knocking up a servant!"  Snobby cow!  She was a company employee, not a "servant!"  According to the notario, it's in Eloisa's best interest to comply.

Enteraste = you found out
Lastimarte = hurt you
Asumir = accept, take on
Indemnización = compensation (for damages)
Asegurar = assure (but also insure and ensure, depending on context)
Fideicomiso = trust

[FI'S PLAN ALERT!]  They're going to pretend Pedro can see.  Sergio will go into the meeting with a sunglasses-wearing Pedro.  Pedro will wear an earbud, and Fi will whisper sweet nothings into his hear.  Er, she'll tell him what she can see on the security cameras.  Fidel will guard the hallway so no one finds Fi.  Sergio makes a casual comment about Fi being "an Angeles" but I don't know if he means that literally because he knows about the marriage, or figuratively because he feels like she's on their side.

In the board room, they all look fairly bored.  Os tries to simultaneously sound disappointed that Pedro's "incapacitated" and start calling for a vote…Benigno and Fed get in on the action, interrupting each other with BS.  Pedro and Sergio walk in and Pedro says he's the Prez, yo!  And he's not blind anymore, so as the President, he has the right to run this meeting.  Fi talks Pedro through the placement of everyone at the table.  Sonia asks what they're all wondering--how did he recover?  Pedro brushes off her question.  He just miraculously recovered on the way to the airport, they took him to the hospital, and bing, bang, boom…he can see!  Fi continues to narrate while Fidel worries this will never work.  We all know the story of Pedro's miraculous recovery is a buncha lies and no one at that table should be buying this, but what the hell.  It's more fun to have him back than let Os or Benigno be in charge!  Oh, about those sunglasses--doctor's orders.

Speaking of awkward meetings no one really wants to be at…Eloisa agrees to let Joaquina come back to work, but as for Roxana…she can put up with one of them but not both!  Finding her is one thing, but letting her live there?  No.  "But it's what Maximo wanted!"  Seriously?  El doesn't care about that, especially after what she just heard.  All he wanted was for her not to be neglected.  She's got a trust.  Nobody says she has to live there. The notario reluctantly agrees.  Eloisa tells Joaquina to quit pushing it or she might just decide to fire her again and pay the penalty.  Take it, Joaquina!  El says she'll consider letting Rox back into the house, but she doubts she'll let her.

Dante chews out the guy at A Corp who "let" Federica find an important document in his office.  Fed walks in--board meeting over?  The guy keeps denying he knows anything about the account where the money has been going.  She leaves him with Dante, who says if the guy breathes a word to Fed, well, "Como dijo el chino: O copelas o te corto el cuello."  It means "As the 'Chinaman' said: either cooperate or I cut your throat" with "copelas" being a mispronunciation of "cooperas."  I spent way too much time researching this and it seems like this is a reference to the case of Zhenli Ye Gon, a Chinese-Mexican businessman, who is suspected of being a drug trafficker, money launderer, and member of the Sinaloa cartel.  The phrase comes from an interview with the Associated Press where he claimed that the reason so much cash was seized from his house was that he was told by a government official "copelas o cuello" if he didn't agree to keep the cash at his house.

Back in the board room, only the family is left--minus Fed--and he reveals that he pretended he could see again because he found out that Benigno was bribing the board members to elect him.  So Pedro solved the problem by coming back and now the Angeles family can retain control.  Os…has no idea what to do with this information.

Alina won't tell Gael what Papi Chulo had to say over the phone, but she'll see him tomorrow.  Gi's worried about figuring out if she's adopted or Fi's adopted.  Gael proposes they forget their problems and…relax.  I think we allll know how, but the scene cuts to commercial before we get more than a few smoochies.

Pedro and Fi explain to Eloisa about Benigno's plan and how they foiled it.  Eloisa thinks this is all about Pedro ditching Aitana at the altar and Benigno wanting revenge.  Not that she thinks he's justified.  And she agrees Pedro had to do what he did.  Pedro tells her he pulled it off thanks to Fi's help.  Giggles all around as Eloisa keeps waving her hand and her fan in Pedro's face trying to verify that he really can't see anything.  And now, El wants a moment alone with her grandson, to talk family bidness.  More jokes as Eloisa amends her request for Fi to leave to add much floweriness and excessive politeness.  Pedro tells El that he knows where Roxi is, but El throws a tantrum and throws her fan.

(Why does Aitana look like she's coming on to her dad?)  She keeps proposing new "plans" but Benigno doesn't want to mess around anymore.  Not that he has any ideas yet for what they can do in a "once and for all" sense.  He's pretty sure Os has to be "removed" though.

Eloisa continues her tantrum and beats Maximo's chair with her cane, since Maximo's not there to face her wrath in person.  She has no sympathy for whatever Joaquina has been through. Pedro insists Joaquina, Rox, and Eloisa are all victims in this, but he's on her side.  El finally breaks down in tears at the disloyalty and all the lies.  Pedro says she's Eloisa Angeles, and she's bigger than all this petty paternity drama.  Rox is an Angeles and she belongs with them.  El finally tells Pedro if he wants her there, he can deal with it himself.  She's not lifting a finger!  She goes back to crying on his shoulder.

Sonia gloats to Os that she KNEW it! She KNEW they couldn't trust Benigno!  Os is shocked…shocked, I tell you!...that Benigno would turn the board of directors against him.  Sonia says he's not family.  It was to be expected.  Os insists they've got to work together.  "Oh, please!  You don't even trust your own shadow.  But I'm your wife.  I'd never betray you."  He gets a text that Aitana's waiting for him and goes to the bathroom to respond.

Pedro tells Fi (now uniformed) the chisme.  I guess part of her uniform is color-coordinated hair ribbons and earrings.  I'm actually ok with that.  He wants Fi to be there for his gramma.  Fi agrees with him that Roxi needs to come home.  Pedro is going to go deal with that and asks Fi to contact Elizalde so he can continue his treatment.

Os.  Aitana.  Slurpy noises.  Avert your eyes!  Aitana is succumbing to the patio's favorite guessing game and wonders…was Pedro really blind all that time or just faking?  There's more disgusting banter, but I can't hear it because I'm gagging.  A shirtless Os is squeamish about getting it on the living room, but Aitana swears nobody's going to interrupt them.  OK, shirtless Mike Biaggio is not bad, I just don't want to see shirtless Os….know what I mean?  A shadow on the wall reveals that someone else is going to get an eyeful of something they might regret later.  The horror!  The horror!

Eloisa sprays Maximo's picture with perfume.  Fi asks about their great luuuuuuuurve.  Eloisa swears she loved him completely, even though she knew he wasn't perfect.  She invites Fi to sit on the bed with her and tells her about Maximo's secret child.  She can tell Fi, but not the family…they'll lose respect for her!  Fi says if Maximo acted like a rat bastard, it's not El's fault and no one should blame her.  Eloisa says she's surrounded by vultures, but she has to admit she always feels better and happier when she talks to Fi.  And then, the High and Mighty Eloisa Angeles…asks her for a hug.

Look, Eloisa's not my favorite person, and she's fairly horrible, but Maximo was at least as horrible if not more and he just up and dies and leaves a bunch of letters behind all "Hey girl, I screwed up but I'm dead now, so fix it for me, 'k?" I mean who does that?

Kat- I am laughing so hard right now at your letter from Max. And I really have to get recapping tonight's YNCELH. Thanks for the light moment before I go back into the dark world of Yo No.

HA! Gracias, Vivi :D Good luck with the darknesssssss....

DIVA, just want to say a BIG thank you for the recap! I'm fresh off watching the episode and the reading the recap made it all the better. "Why does Aitana look like she's coming on to her dad?" Right. I was thinking the same thing as she leans in to Daddy and pouts her lips. Ugh.

I thought the shadow that was spying on Os and Aitana looked like a hunched over man with a cape, a walking stick, longish messy hair and a felt hat. I mean, that's the impression I got from the shadow.

Roxie is the half sibling to Sergio and aunt to Pedro, is that right? So if for those reasons alone, she has rights to be part of the fam.

Good night folks. This was a bad edited episode. Practically they cut out all the scenes of Pietro, Fiorella, and Sergio with Reynaldo and Adela. Fiorella decided to take Pietro to hide on Adelas house the day before the boardroom meeting. Adela was all the time flirting with Sergio in front of Rey. Roxana was coming to the house when she met with Fidel and he had to admit that Pietro was there but Roxana thought that it was because he was looking for her and well she didnt want to be found. They even cut out an important scene where Pietro confessed to his dad that he married with Fiorella. Sergio at first took the news as a joke but he end up cheering Pietro for being so brave of taking that decision.

Also a scene of Ratana hugging Pietro in the boardmeeting and poor Fiorella watching it angry on the screen.
Dante almost discovering Fiorella in Acorp but Fidel hiding her
A tantrum of Ass boy with Sonia in the boardroom for losing the presidence. He even was crying like a little boy who lost his favorite toy.
Oh well the list is long and if I missed something just tell me.

Kat this was great! What a mess of an episode but your recap helped make it more palatable.

First, Papa Gael....he's so pretty. I was happy. Downhill from there.

Thanks Maria for confirming there was a lot of splicing and dicing. For cripes sake we get that horrendous Os/Hairball makeout scene in detail, but we DON'T get Petey telling daddy he married Fi. I'm calling it, the editor is some woman who is crushing on Asshat. (Notice she cut him looking stupid and crying?)

THe fake out was more comedic than anything. Love how not one board member said a word (budget issues I'm sure for payroll).

That letter was the dumbest thing. If Max had a separate trust, why didn't he just set Quina and Rox up someplace else. If he wanted Rox under foot to spoil rotten, then at some point he parentage needed to come out. When was this all going to be revealed? If Quina kicked the bucket in an accident, how would the letter have come to light? Honestly...writers. (And I still have a hard time feeling anything for Quina).

I sort of got a kick out of the young 'uns couples scene at the house. Benny and Rox are starting to look like Adela and hubby in their squabbling. The reactions by G&G were cute. And well, Gael is cute, so the smoochies with Gi were cute. They are cute, they make me keep watching period.

Still on the fence with El. She's still a mean old bat when she wants to be. She may be all huggy to Fi now...wait until she finds out she married Petey.

Muchisimas gracias, grazie tantissimo and thank you very much, Diva! Running out for an appointment but will be back later. Wanted to note some things:

Yah, from what Sergio said before the fake-out board meeting, seems he knows Petey and Fifi are married, plus they are openly amorous in front of him?

and he reveals that he pretended he could see again because he found out that Benigno was bribing the board members to elect him.

Were there no consequences for this? So Benigno gets to keep hanging around plotting AGAIN to do away now with Pedro and Ass boy? Pedro knows about the swindle and the attempt to usurp control of the company through bribery and this is all legal?

Alina won't tell Gael what Papi Chulo had to say over the phone, but she'll see him tomorrow.

All I could think about when I heard Alina's tone telling Gael she couldn't meet with him is that she was mid-boink with Papi Chulo on top of her desk. . .or the floor.

Later!

Forgot to say thank you last night, Kat.

Marla- Thanks for telling us some of the things that were cut. Can't believe they showed that over-long scene of Ass and Hairball getting it on, and didn't show the scene where Pedro tells his father he and Fi are married!

Vivi, Lila, Daisynjay, I'm glad y'all enjoyed it!

If anyone can cover for me tonight, please let me know.

Diva - Thank you for the recap!

Eloisa is such a detestable character, yet I have sympathy for her shock in learning about 'Quina and Roxi. To know you've been betrayed so deeply, and have "the other woman" brought into your home and living under your nose all those years without knowing it .... I'm giving Elo the right to be upset. Maxi was indeed a major jerk.

Marla - Thank you for filling in the holes of this episode. Beni and Roxi sleeping at the school made absolutely no sense to me. I thought it was because I was cooking supper and missed a scene or two. Nope...Looneyvision cut them out.

What seemed particularly odd to me is that at the school, on the mattress, Roxi did not seem to give a second thought to Quina's big reveal about Roxi's parentage, as if it never happened. Had that been me, I would have been freaking out for days, just like Gi has been freaking out over the fact that she thinks she is adopted. Apparently Rox is made of tougher stuff; that must be the Maximo DNA in her! Oy, the Taming of the Shrew has a way to go yet.

Sergio seems to take Pedro's marriage in stride. I guess he forgot Elo's earlier threat to cut him (Sergio) off if Ped got mixed up with Fi. Maybe because the wedding with the Hairy One is off, Sergio figures "whatevs".

I was hoping the shadow outside Assitana would be Sonia. I really want her to catch those two in flagrante delicto!!!

Fabulous Kat! Well written with terrific snark...

"Os. Aitana. Slurpy noises. Avert your eyes!" and "Vitto thinks he remembers Anibal from the restaurant, and he apparently has a good memory for the faces of his clients (better than his memory for his own misdeeds)" were among my favorites.

"A shadow on the wall reveals that someone else is going to get an eyeful of something they might regret later". Yes! Who was that?? Can't wait to see.

"Eloisa sprays Maximo's picture with perfume". I was confused by this. Why?

While I'm glad Pedro and Fi pulled off this grand subterfuge, what happens after the meeting?

"And then, the High and Mighty Eloisa Angeles…asks her for a hug". Wow! Miracles do happen!

Kat, thank you for another great recap. Your vocabulary is noted and greatly appreciated!

Diana

doris, I think Rox has convinced herself Quina is nuts and lying. She's been good at always just putting up the mean girl demeanor and hiding her feelings. This time, she probably is in total denial mode.

I don't even know why we have to keep having the whole Diana/Vitto/Anibal plot keep taking air time. Again, a scene we could have done without. If for any reason they become important to Fi and Petey, ok bring them in, otherwise don't care. At all.

Daisynjay

"Fed's shoes are purple" I absolutely love it Kat, when you start with the relevant! Ya hooo

"And then, the High and Mighty Eloisa Angeles…asks her for a hug"

Oh no, trust fund baby Roxy. At least Max recognized the girl.

LaDiva enjoyable recap, thank you much.
Awwwwwwww, El is like a big o gray haired
Baby. She calls them vultures? They are her
Creation. Their snobbiness? They learned it
From the best, ELOISA ANGELES. BOOHOO.
Of course nobody likes to find out that their
significant other is a big fat lying cheat. Like
Her grandbaby pedro said "move on". Can't do a Thing about it now, roxi is a grown up
Spoiled brat, she Is maximo's little angelic
Spawn, end of story. At least that story. Well maybe not, what is she going to do with all that loot that daddy warbucks left her. Poor little rich snob.

What will El do when she finds out about the
Newly weds"Mr.& Mrs. Pedro & Fiorella Angeles. And that fi is probably as rich If not more filthy richer than they are. now that's a story I want to see and hear. Poor El, she just
can't catch a brake. Boohoo!!!!!

Did I think the wrong person for the recap again? I'm very sorry. Miss kat & Ladiva both of you did a wonderful job thank you both I'll get it right. I promise I will. So happy they brought papi chulo back. Is that his name, wait I saw something else is the recap don't
Remember what it was, but papi chulo is ok good. What a gorgeous man.

It's supposed to be did I" thank" the wrong person. Thank you!!!!♡♡♡♡♡

Thanks Diva for the funny recap

I was wondering about that saying Dante used but I'm amazed by the origins thanks for satisfying my curiosity :)

"Os is shocked…shocked, I tell you!...that Benigno would turn the board of directors against him." its funny when you put it that way, but he's so dumb he really didn't see that coming. If/when Beg tries to kill him he won't see that coming either

Daisynjay - I like your theory about the editing, it makes perfect sense.

Marla thanks for the fill ins

I can do tonight, I think
