Alicia continues becoming Malicia. Beto is pummeled from all sides. Augusto is still on the ascendant. Where is his anvil?

Did you hear that Google has abolished its slogan Do No Evil? Looks like Alicia is heading in that direction (the anti-do-no-evil direction). She starts by telling Chuchette her book is only suitable for the recycling bin, insults her and then sweetly imitates: "Oh, it was just a joke!"

Roberto is planning, again, to kidnap Mateo, who is properly doubtful (considering what happened the first time). And now it's worse: Sheila has been installed in a nice house with Mateo, Augusto is paying her well to be patient and pretend to be a mother, he has spies everywhere to ensure Roberto doesn't try anything. Gumaro tries to talk him out of it, too.

Braulio tells Brisa's dad: "General, my relationship with Brisa is epic!" Isidro reminds him: "You promised to win her back for me and I'll have a look at your movie." He ogles Chuchette. Turns out, the General has been ogling all the asses at Ikonika so Fatima blows him off when he compliments her later.

Sheila to Mateo: "Your father left you in a house for discarded dolls. [Shiver] It's Don Augusto who is buying you clothes and toys, he's more your father than Roberto." Sheila, later, to Augusto: "I'm tired of pretending to be a responsible mother, I want to be free, if you want me to stick it out -- pay me more - patience has a price." Augusto muses, "and to think, I was ripped from my mother's arms when I was a child." "Boo hoo," empathizes Sheila.

Augusto is scolded by the API viejos for books not being in order. He blames it on his upcoming divorce and hands the problem off to Roberto, who I think cooks the books and gives them back to the API dudes "all in order" but keeps maybe a copy of the originals (or maybe it's a recording on his phone of Augusto threatening him) (or both) saying, "this may come in handy."

I love the word Augusto used for the API dudes: calaveras = skull and bones, emaciated, the walking dead.

Alicia (who now has the nickname "Malicia") reams out some more of the creatives, she says their ideas for the Theodora campaign are mediocre, and in fact in the meeting with Mr Foster his face tells them all the same thing. "I still have to see Madeleine's proposal, I'll let you know later." So Alicia gets a very wicked idea:

  1. She gets Braulio to film a vodka commercial with dancing bears and use a filter on it so it looks like a Russian ad from the 1980s.
  2. She bullies Nestor into telling her where Mr Foster is meeting Sandra. It's at a restaurant the next day.
  3. She secretly sends a packet to Sandra at Madeleine - scented with Elias's perfume to add verisimilitude - saying "I have decided to join you. In the mean time, here is a good idea for the Theodora campaign."
  4. Sandra is delighted and presents the idea to Mr Foster at the restaurant. Alicia shows up and says "her campaign is pure plagiarizing, look at this old 1980s Russian commercial for vodka. And Sandra has stolen lots of other ideas from us."

Roberto is totally in over his head. Augusto has his child and knows Carmona has been pushing for leads. "But Sheila is his main objective, he wants her in jail, and I have to tell him something." Augusto grudgingly agrees.

Brisa tells Braulio they need to go away someplace with good energy to figure out the future. He can't leave because of his movie and agrees when she accuses him of feeling his movie is more important (oops).

Luciana spars with Alicia saying sooner or later her carriage will turn back into a pumpkin - "the zip code can't be hidden." She complains to her dad who says: "You've got two things to do - the People's Cafe campaign and give me a grandson, soon!" She complains that she is unsatisfied in her marriage.

The pity party where Nestor tells Chuchette "Alicia threatened me!" is only notable for vocabulary. Chuchette says Malicia is the daughter of Chinkunkuna (I think that's a bad spider) and that if they don't watch out Alicia will pound them into pinole. She doesn't want to talk to Yurisander (looks like he, too, works at Ikonika but has never seen her?) because she's so sad. Nestor says "It's a text, he can't see you," but Chuchette says "feelings are transmitted through texts. I want to cut my veins with animal crackers." ??? Later she asks Yurisander to estimate her age and he says "older than me, probably 40" which sets her into a further tail spin.

Magos is having trouble at school. Her mother suggests she ask Alicia for help, "or use your savings to..." at which Nacho's coffee erupts out of his mouth. I guess those savings are gone with the wind but he is such a coward he hasn't fessed up.

Carmona threatens Beto: "Give me some proof or I'm revealing you to the world." Some time later an anonymous package arrives for Carmona. It appears to be proofs against Sheila.

Nestor shows Augusto the internet campaign for the LGBT travel agency, it features Alex and Kenny at their wedding! Augusto runneth over with bile. He yells at Alicia, then at Alex, who points out his mom owns half the company and she approved the campaign. (Though soon evidently she is selling her shares to Augusto.)

Finally: Beto is at Sheila's place, but Mateo is gone off with Augusto (no clue for how long). They have their usual fight, with the only unusual aspect being that Carmona's cops show up and arrest Sheila. Heh.

Thanks Jane for the awesome recap!!

Wow Alicia has really turned into Malicia. Felt bad for Chuchette but quickly remembered that she was getting what she deserved.

Elias noted her attitude and stuck up for the group, saying that their ideas weren't that bad, not great obviously. Don't feel bad for Sandra. She should have been smarter since she has already been caught out before with the stolen ideas.

I think Augie sent the proofs to Carmona. Rob told him that Carmona's real target is Sheila and then she wanted more money from Augie. The fact that Mateo wasn't there when this all went down proves that it had to be Augie. Otherwise, Rob would have wanted Mateo near by in order to take him after the police left with Sheila. Now he doesn't know where he is and has no rights to find out.

Thanks, Jane. Terrific recap. Special appreciation for explaining the Yurisander texting confab between Chuchette and Nestor because I didn't understand it at all.

I must be jaded because I loved Alicia setting up Sandra using that fake 80s Russian ad. Sandra, you don't know what you have unleashed.

Jane, this was sassy and sensational.

I love the way you phrase things "Turns out, the General has been ogling all the asses at Ikonika" made me laugh appreciatively.

Niecie, I'm with you in loving Sandra being set up. I feel badly when I see Alicia's hard expression and jutted chin but then I remember all of the verbal insults and injuries she has received and feel those who deserve it (Chuchette and Sandra) are getting their just desserts.

Nothing is too bad to befall Nestor. Ack.

Super great Jane---Agusto runneth over with bile sure nailed it. A gold star for Jane today.

Yes super great today Jane---Pinole looks interesting. I have never had it but would like to try it.

Alicia now Malicia? Noooooo!!! Say it isn't so.

I do love it when Alicia takes it to Sandra.

Wow! Shelia gets arrested. Does anyone know what the charge is?

must see tv

Jane, I so enjoyed your recap. Thank you.

It was really creepy listening to Sheila talk about how she never did want to be a mother. Makes you wonder why she ever had Mateo unless it was by accident.

I loved Alicia's framing of Sandra and seeing the tables turned on Chuchette and Néstor. I hope she does not do something morally compromising that would ruin her reign of terror on the bullies and drag her down into the mud.

It was interesting seeing Fátima call Brusa's father Isidro "medio ojo alegre": a man with a sort of wandering eye. She is really good at recognizing BS when she hears/sees it.

Luciana was at her whiny obnoxious best not giving Augusto any peace even after he told her to concern herself with 2 things: The Peoples' Café account and producing a grandson. Clearly it is not the life she ever imagined for herself and she is not satisfied. So there!!

Gringo, we don't know what charges were brought against Sheila. I hope we find out tonight. I liked Sheila admitting to Roberto (before Carmona arrived) that she was responsible for sending Roberto to jail and she would love to do it again.

They didn't tell us what "fraud" Sheila is charged with. Thanks for the clarification, Carvivlie. Nestor has so far gotten off SCOT FREE as has Augusto. Grrrr. WHY OH WHY doesn't Alicia fire him? Although this time she blackmailed him for some important info...

Thank You Jane. I was interrupted a bunch so your recap filled in the gaps.

"A grandson you want, Pop?" Augusto: "Yes Luci, please, I would be so proud."
"Well, Daddy, I have good news and bad news."
"You are getting a Grandson after all."
"And Dad, the bad news, is it is the gardener's. I may need your help telling Roberto."
DOH !

Thank you so much for this Jane.

"the General has been ogling all the asses at Ikonika" by golly he was

Roberto was a thief and shyster before he met Sheila and nothing has changed. Simply because she set him up didn't mean he didn't deserve to be in prison. He did.

Enjoyed the recap. Very funny-Chuchette-says Malicia is the daughter of Chinkunkuna
and Augusto runneth over with bile. Thanks!
