Antes muerta que Lichita #102. Wednesday 2/17/16.

Here we go. . .

Isidro is surprised to hear that his daughter Brisa quit. Fátima tells him he now has no reason to come around.

Augusto tells Draco how he is now the only owner of Icónika which he built all by himself. He cannot believe how many years he wanted to own it all and that it just took a few stupid photos to blackmail Beatriz into selling her shares to him. He tells Draco to prepare himself because turbulent times are coming.

Roberto wastes time with Mateo calling Gumaro and not telling him anything he wants to hear or know.

Alicia is left holding the bag with the director because Braulio did not show for the second time. The director is pissed. Alicia turns to Braulio's script and thinks about maybe using it in an ad campaign. She would not be robbing anything just taking advantage of something Braulio never would. Anyway, it would be just the same as others had done to her. Elías hears her talking to herself in her office and comes in to investigate. She does the "Elías going crazy" imitation. Liberty! Fraternity! Equality! she yells ripping off her own jacket.

Braulio catches up with Brisa before she gets on the plane for Timbuktu.

Magos leaves for class and Elsa tells Nacho she just got her first credit card bill when . . .we had: *******BREAKING NEWS: The "despedida" of Papa Francisco with "La Golondrina" being played in the background by mariachis. We see him climbing the stairs of an AéroMéxico plane that will take him back to Rome. He turns and gives one final wave.Political and religious leaders are there to see him off. We get one final look at him through a plane window as he is getting into his seat.******* ¡Adiós, Papa Francisco!  : )

Back to the story where goofy Magos is involved in a classroom paper fight. Everyone is throwing balls of paper around the room. (How old is she?)

Mateo and Roberto are talking. Mateo is worried about his dad. He wants to know what is wrong. Mateo is doing well but he knows Roberto isn't. Roberto tells him he hates leaving him alone so much of the time. Mateo tells Roberto he should not be worried about him. Miranda takes good care of him, she is like a teacher sometimes and she even plays with him; something his mother never did. The "big man" (Augusto) who is almost never there, always asks him if he has eaten or if he needs something when he sees him so he is not so afraid of him as he was before. They hug. (I just noticed how much Mateo looks like Augusto)

Sandra is upset that she cried in front of her workers. They must think she is crazy. Fátima is there to support her but tells her the "Mr. Foster" incident was just a result of her own actions. Sandra is realizing that she is without a job, without prestige, without anything. Fátima reminds her of what she does have: a lot of savings and her health. She then tells Sandra to take a few days off to rest and think about what she wants to do. Sandra tells Fátima how much she values her friendship and they hug.

Alicia is still talking herself into using Braulio's script. She tells herself  again she is not exactly stealing just taking advantage of something nobody is using eventhough it is not exactly hers. At that moment of ethical pondering, Augusto comes into her office to congratulate her on the new Angelical toilet paper account. He is expecting something "slashing" "devastating" in the way of an ad campaign: in other words he is expecting a lot. That is the only way they will get all of Mr. Foster's accounts. He is counting on her. After he leaves, Alicia tells us she was aware she was starting to hide things she was doing; she was doing doing things under the table so to speak.

Magos tells her parents and Ximena the story of the paper fight in the classroom. They are not impressed. Elsa tells her she sounds like a little kid. Magos brushes it off saying that she has never liked school. She is just their to get her preparatory certificate. Ximena asks if she can come to see her new school. Magos will still be in class. Looks like Ximena will have to go just with  her aunt Alicia.

Luciana comes by the Cafecito to chit chat with her mother Valeria about the predicament she finds herself in: she is in love with a wonderful man who is a "naco" from "nacolandia". Valeria is happy she is getting over her silly prejudices. Valeria also tells her to distance herself from Augusto because he is not a good person. Luciana is eating away. She asks her mom for not one but two pieces of chocolate cake. She needs carbs, energy. Valeria talks about what good people the Gutiérrez's are. Luciana tells her mother how good Roberto is that he made sure that she took responsibility for the accident she had caused so Nacho could get the money from the insurance company. Valeria is happy that she acknowledged her fault. She tells her she is a good daughter. Luciana corrects her "very good".

Alicia is on the phone with Dafne. She tries to get Dafne to talk to her dad just like she talked to her mom to improve things with him. In the conversation Dafne lets it slip that Luciana and Gumaro might have something going on. The conversation is confusing but in the end Alicia tells us that if Roberto were to be betrayed by his best friend, that would be poetic justice but punishments never turn out to be so perfect.

Augusto arrives at his home where Roberto is playing with Mateo. Augusto is not pleased he is not at API since they discussed that already. Augusto orders Miranda to take charge of Mateo. Off they go to his room. Roberto asks Augusto if he could just take Mateo away for good. They will both disappear and never be heard from again. That is not happening. Augusto just laughs commenting  that Roberto is like a beggar. They almost come to blows with Draco on the spot ready to intervene. Augusto makes the point that Roberto needs to realize that is no longer the black panther of before. Augusto then talks about his own past about when he was Mateo's age and he was ripped from the arms of his poor mother. His father gave him his last name but he was always made to feel like a bastard. Roberto does not know what it was like growing up in his father's household always feeling humiliated by them all. Roberto says at least Augusto's father wanted to give him a family and not just put him in an orphanage. Augusto admits that they both carry a heavy cross on their backs. Roberto says the past forges a person. Augusto says he is on to something with that thought. People end up having a wonderfully good side but also a very bad side, too, right? Augusto tells him to go home to his wife. Augusto will need him in a few days for some business with his partners. Roberto brings up the sale of Rafael's mansion and wants to know if Augusto is sitting on it so Valeria won't get any of the proceeds from the sale. Augusto just smiles.

Great scene where Néstor goes to tell Alicia about the meetings they had yesterday without Braulio. Her message to him is that while Braulio is away, he Néstor needs to pick up the slack and if he can't, he can resign and he will be replaced. He is to get to work and leave her in peace.

Magos is back in class and does not know the answer to the question her teacher asks her. Rather than paying attention, she gets out her phone and starts fiddling with that. When the teacher calls her on it, she has a smart ass answer for him: since she paid for the class he should be cool with her. He tells her she should pay attention. Either she studies or she is wasting her time. It is her decision. She just acts the fool.

Alicia takes Ximena to see the new school. Ximena is worried about how much it is costing her aunt Alicia. Alicia tells her that education is the best gift.

At the mansion, Luciana is going up to work in her room. Luciana is on an eating binge. She tells the maid that she wants five pancakes with loads of syrup and nice crunchy bacon. Gumaro is hiding from her so he does not run into her.

A few days later at the mansion, Alex and Kenny are going to stay a while rather than rent a place before they leave for L.A. The maid is confused who is sleeping where. They are a married couple: husband and husband. Beatriz is happy they accepted her invitation and are there.

At the Cafecito, Ximena is telling the rest of the family about the new school. Alicia asks Magos about school. Magos fluffs it off saying it is just like a review but cool. Surprise: Valeria arrives on the scene with Luciana. Alicia asks what is going on.

We are in Roberto's API office where he has just participated with Augusto and some other businessmen in signing some papers. Augusto congratulates Roberto on his official entrance to the "business world."

Now we know the truth about Augusto's childhood. He and Roberto now have one MORE thing in common.

Thanks Bunches Jarifa. The CCs had a mind of their own last night, so your recap really hits the spot.
So is Augusto about to find himself with a company with one (1) employee who actually WORKS. With everyone except the layabouts and Alicia having quit, MIA or fired?
Maybe he is making enough with his API laundry to not even need Iconika, because in spite of his flaws and despicable personality he doesn't appear to be business stupid. Hmmmm

Jarifa, what a luxurious reading this was. I love your heartfelt style where you state the facts peppered with your own special style. "She does the "Elías going crazy" imitation. Liberty! Fraternity! Equality! she yells ripping off her own jacket" was great.

"He tells Draco to prepare himself because turbulent times are coming". Really? My heavens Augusto, let's see. You murdered your brother, hurt your wife, the mother of your (other daughter), all of your children. You've lied, cheated, bullied and abducted a child. What could be worse or more perverse? Sigh.

I hold out no hope for Sandra but apparently the kind Fatima does.

I love the actress but am tired of Magos' tantrums. Now that Brau stopped Bri from boarding the plane, can we dare hope their uninteresting storyline will end??

Hmmm. “Luciana is eating away. She asks her mom for not one but two pieces of chocolate cake. She needs carbs, energy.” It’s times like these I dearly wish I had a medical degree so I could figure out why Luci is so ravenous. Now whatever could it be??

I'm sorry to repeat myself but I am happily anticipating Augusto's anvil. Can't come soon enough...

Jarifa, thank you, thank you!

Diana

Oh, no! Arath de la Torre is on Despierta América pushing his latest movie. "Busco novio para mi mujer". The movie looks like a cute piece if fluff.

Kirby, sure agree Augusto is anything but "business stupid."
.

Diana, you know me by now: I did not find the Magos character funny at all: just more of the annoying same old same old. It looks like she is on schedule to fail her prep test. If her bad adventure with her baby daddy didn't turn her around, what will? As for Braulio and Brisa, maybe they both can go to Timbuktu!

BTW, no Lichita tonight. It is "Premio lo nuestro" time.

Great recap! I didn't see the show so much appreciated. I guess Luciana is pregnant, there can be no other excuse for pancakes.

Jane, sure sounds like a possibility. We haven't had the "required" unexpected pregnancy yet. So funny.

A big thanks Jarifa.

"Roberto wastes time with Mateo calling Gumaro and not telling him anything he wants to hear or know"

I caught myself playing with my phone during this show. Boring. What the hell happened I loved it soooooo much?

For Roberto to be happy he must be setting up a con, pulling a con or covering the tracks of a con. A freebird but now his wings are clipped and it's no fun playing a small part in a con not his own. What does he want? He can play with Mateo all day, gab with his bro whenever, Mateo is happy and Sheila behind bars.

Thanks, Jarifa! This was wonderful. I missed the episode, but must see Alicia do her Elias impression. :)

Definitely sounds like Luci is pregnant. How's she going to explain that to a husband who's never had sex with her? Hmmmm....

Not sure why Auggie wants 100% ownership of a business that he is sinking with his bad management and shady business activities.

I saw the end of the episode, and was pleasantly surprised to see Bea welcoming Kenny and Alex, and telling the maid they will be in the same bedroom, without batting an eye.

Can't believe Magos flippantly told the teacher she is paying for the class, when isn't it Alicia's money she is wasting? What will it take for this girl to learn?

Ya know, I made a tongue in cheek joke days ago something like Lucy telling Aug she was giving him a grandson. But it was the gardener's. It was completely innocent, I never dreamed it would be an accidental spoiler.

Thanks for the great recap Jarifa!

Magos is a waste of money. That hopeful turnaround has never materialized.

You know I never even considered Luci to be pregnant. I thought she was stress eating. I like having Gummie's baby better!

Bea, Kenny and Alex have become quite the cute threesome. I wish Kenny had more lines. His character just seems to tag along.

So Rob is now officially on the hook after signing those papers. I can't see an out at this point.

Anvils will you please start dropping!!

Thanks, Jarifa. Great job.

Oooh, I can't wait for Luci's pregnancy to blow up. I guess she "inherited" this from her mom too.

haha good one Niecie!

Thank you Jarifa---you really keep this one moving along.

I missed yesterday but a Thank you also goes out to you Ezra.

I have had hopes for Magos shaping up but I am starting to loose those hopes.

WOW! Was Kirbo right? Is Luciana pregnant? Tofie if you are bored, things could be starting to heat up. Stay tuned.

I think it funny that Big Guy Agusto needs Draco to protect him against Roberto. I think that Agusto could probably pick up Roberto and throw him across the room if he so desired.

A night without Maite? Grrrrr.

must see tv.
the gringo

Vivi, it Has been great seeing Beatriz turn into the mother she always should have been. No anvils for her!

Carvivlie, even if it is not time for the anvils to drop yet, I can hear them being forged.

Niecie, if Luciana Is indeed pregnant, I cannot wait for Valeria's and even more for Augusto's (her papi's)! reaction.

Gringo, so true about the size of Augusto compared to Roberto and even Draco. Maybe he has Draco so he never has to get disheveled in a fight!

Thanks, everybody for stopping by the patio! You make this fun!
