Caray, Caray!

DOUBLE EPISODE ALERT!

Do not be surprised if the recap is just as choppy as the episode. I never saw more commercials or "chops" in one hour!

Anyway, we begin with the proposal . . . Will Alicia accept????

It takes a few seconds but Alicia says Yes!!! (deep down she is not so sure). There are applause all around but not everyone is happy. Roberto is on the ground spitting out a mouth full of grass.  Elsa, Roberto and Nacho are all in bad moods over the engagement. Roberto gets drunk and knows what he has to do. He ends up taking his frustration out on Santiago with his fists when he sees Santiago kisses his fiancée Alicia. Finally, Roberto is escorted out of the party. The party is not what it was supposed to be and is over before it starts. Valeria and Alicia end up talking with Valeria listing the stresses Roberto is under including the situation with his son. Is he the son  for real?--asks Alicia.  Does he live with Luciana and Roberto? Where is he? Valeria tries to change the topic saying she has to call a taxi. Alicia will give her a lift. At Valeria's, Valeria offers to make a couple of matés to drink. Alicia looks around and finds a room all set up for a little boy complete with Mateo's picture.  She remembers Mateo from the orphanage. Why was he in an orphanage anyway?

After the party, Roberto ends up at the Gutiérrez house where Nacho makes him agree to forget about Alicia and Roberto offers his help with the con man. Elsa wants to know what con man. Nacho shushes Roberto and starts crying when Elsa twists his ear. Roberto then is back at the mansion singing out his woes with Gumaro accompanying him on the guitar.


At the "no tell motel" upon seeing Elías in a state of undress, Beatriz thinks back to the invitation she got to see "the mother superior of the congregation of the Sisters of Charity of the Word Incarnate" that brought her there. Beatriz and Elías leave the room and try to figure out the hotel situation. Elías says it is more mysterious than the twelve mysteries of the Bible as Augusto's henchman Draco follows them away from the room and continues to take photos. Elías thinks their meeting must have been a trap. Beatriz sees it as a bad joke. When Draco returns with the photos, Augusto congratulates him on being quite the paparazzi. Augusto now has ammunition to blackmail Beatriz.

Sandra is angry again with an employee because he cannot find out who Dafy is. Sandra starts to communicate with Dafne on her Dafy blog. She introduces herself as being Sandra Mandariaga the general director from Madelén and says Dafy can make loads of money from her blog. Dafne chokes on her popcorn when she hears it is Sandra and suggests they meet in person.

Back at the Gutiérrez house, Elsa asks Alicia if Santiago is the man of her life. When silence is the answer, Elsa tells her it is better to straighten things out with Santiago sooner rather than later.

Alicia is moping at work when Luciana comes by to congratulate her on her engagement. Alicia surprises her by asking her  all she knows about Roberto's son. Luciana says she only knows he exists. Anyway, it is none of Alicia's business. Alicia says Luciana feels nothing for her husband anyway. He is only a "trophy" husband for her. Alicia leaves Luciana talking to herself as she leaves thinking about Mateo.

Vladimir Vera shows up at API to see Roberto. Roberto wants to know if he is his son's tutor. Vladmir answers with a maybe yes, maybe no. Vladimir suggests a deal between gentlemen: choose: Vladimir will leave Roberto and his family alone if Roberto tells him where (his victim) Sofía Ramírez is. Roberto says he does not know. Vladimir asks: Who does Roberto want to protect: Sofía or his son? Roberto tells him to get out. Fine, Vladimir will tell Augusto, the people at API and his wife the whole truth about Roberto's past if he does not give him what he wants. He points to a huge scar that starts on his forehead and ends under his eye and says "One does not forget this!"

Beatriz's divorce lawyers show up at the mansion to see Beatriz. It turns out that the divorce has just gotten complicated. They have the photos of her in a compromising situation. (no "no fault" divorce??)

Alicia ends up at the orphanage to find out about Mateo. All the adoption agency woman will tell her is that he was adopted.

Magos is still "playing at" getting a real job. Ximena calls her on not having her high school diploma. Magos says she doesn't need it to get a good job but anyway now she has to help out with her parents' business.  (excuse #?)

Alicia goes to find Roberto at API and asks him if Roberto's son is Mateo. Why has he hidden him? Roberto wants to know why is she interested. He has tried to tell her about him several times but she never wanted to listen (really??? Did they cut those parts out too?)It is a long story but he is willing to tell her all about it but first he needs for her to tell him the truth: Is she in love with Santiago? She reminds Roberto he is married. He is not happy being married to Luciana. It was the biggest mistake he could have made. He married to get Mateo what he needed. He married for love but for love of Mateo. He admits that Santiago has all of the qualities of a prince charming and he is not even close but Santiago will never love her like he loves her. Alicia admits that she has not been able to forget him either. Alicia reminds him what he has done to her like using her  to get the job she wanted, standing her up at the airport, hiding his son. He protests: he loves her like nobody else and by what is the most sacred. He can explain everything. His cell phone rings and he answers. It is detective Carmona who wants to see him ASAP. Before he goes, Roberto asks for another chance and he and Alicia kiss. No more lies. It is another chance for them to start over. He has a lot to explain to her. The phone rings again and it is detective Carmona getting impatient. Roberto has just three minutes to meet him. Roberto explains to Alicia that he has to go and that it has to do with something serious with his son. He explains Mateo is with his ex Sheila and finally leaves after kissing Alicia again. Alicia feels between a rock and a hard place.

At his offices, Santiago is telling Félix that he could understand why Roberto acted like he did. Félix tells Santiago that he knew Roberto from his time in jail. After a certain incident in the jail, Roberto had a  rep for being violent. Santiago wants Félix to find out more about him.

Augusto asks where Alicia is and Chuchette drops the bomb: she must be preparing for her wedding. She is engaged to Santiago. Augusto is very angry and vents to Draco. Beatriz quickly nterrupts his rant to Draco with a slap across the face accusing him of setting up the "photo shoot". He just smirks. He cannot wait to make the photos public to all of her associations and sacred church. Augusto says he has always been into advertising! Saint Beatriz will turn into a demon before all. What does he want? All she has to do is give him what he always wanted: sell him her Icónika shares.

When Roberto finally meets up with Detective Carmona, Carmona is aggravated that Roberto was hiding things from him after all of the effort he has put in. He is obstructing his work like a little kid. Roberto says he did it to hide Sofía. Well, Carmona wants him to spit it all out now. Does he know where she is? Ever since he beat up Vladimir, Roberto tried to find out all he could about her. His rep as a fighter helped him get the info. He contacted her from jail to offer her his help but she felt threatened. She was afraid things would go from bad to worse if she brought charges against Vladimir. Roberto knew where she was back then but cannot be sure she is still there. Detective Carmona thinks Sofía needs protection. That is what he "the law" does. Roberto has an idea but it could be a little dangerous. Carmona nods. He wants to hear more. Evidently he liked the plan that we never heard. Carmona tells Roberto to tell nobody about it just in case he is being followed by Vladimir. Roberto gives a small sigh of relief. Things are improving little by little. Carmona smiles.

Augusto now has Alicia in his office. He reminds her now she asked him to take her seriously and he made her into his right hand employee. So now he is going to demonstrate his absolute confidence in her. He asks that Alicia signs some papers for him. WITHOUT READING THE PAPERS, Alicia simply signs them. He smiles.

Alicia is blogging about love and when if the perfect moment to get married on company time in her office when Fátima comes in. Fátima comes in to tell her that Luciana has called a meeting to discuss some of their brands and the first to arrive was Santiago. What does Alicia want done with him? Should she bring him to her office? Alicia is aggravated that Luciana is still acting like the general director when she isn't. Alicia tells Fátima she is going to "clarify" exactly what the position of Luciana is at Icónika. Things are not going to remain like this.

Alicia goes to the conference room for the meeting. Luciana is all interested in the Peoples' Café ad campaign. Alicia does not know because she said she would take care of that one personally. Luciana is on fire! Surprise: Santiago says he wants Luciana to take charge of the the Peoples'Café account. Luciana is ecstatic. Alicia not so much but agrees as long it is under her supervision. Later, in a conversation between just Santiago and Alicia it comes out that he handed off the account to Luciana because he just wanted Alicia to have have more time for him and the preparations for their wedding. Also he has two tickets for Paris. He wants her to meet his family. Alicia only can think of Roberto and that Santiago is not her prince.

At the mansion, Luciana is bubbling on about her day and the mansion someday being all theirs when Roberto decides to have a heart to heart talk with her about their marriage. He wants her to look him in the eyes and tell him if she really loves him because they cannot deny any longer that they do not love each other. Of course they have affection for each other but they are in no way a married couple. They have just avoided the subject. That is why he thinks it is better that they get divorced. Luciana does not look happy.

Outside of the therapist's office, Beatriz runs into Valeria and wants to talk to her. She is being nice to Valeria. Valeria looks surprised.

Back to Santiago who is still planning out his and Alicia's marriage without any input from her. She might want to resign. He can always help her get her own agency when she decides she wants to work. She is going to need time for the family and the children. He is thinking about four children. Alicia thinks Santiago was a real prince but she really did not know him well enough at all to marry him. Alicia does Santiago the favor of not beating around the bush: she calls him a prince but breaks their engagement.
