Muchacha Italiana Viene a Casarse #123 2-19-16 Kiss Your Ass Goodbye!

Ciao miei cari amici!  This is the next to the last show so chin-strapped beanies in place, loved ones with sensitive ears secured for there is much wailing, moaning and gnashing of teeth tonight. . . . Andiamo!

Fiorella, Sergio and Pilar continue screaming outside the study door!  On the other side we see the gun on the floor and a sobbing Pedro, "I'm not going to leave you alone!  We will confront this together!"  Maximo! has popped back in for a second to congratulate Pedro on not being a coward and then *poof!* dematerializes.  Pedro opens the door, Fiorella, Sergio and Pilar wash through the door on a flood of tears.  Fiorella kneels next to where Pedro has slumped on the floor.  They hold, kiss and cry together.  Sergio and Pilar leave.

Gianna's got squiggly lines on her monitor again!  Elizalde says she's stabilized but her heart can't take much more!  They've got to operate ASAP!

Sonia gets a standing ovation at the cabaret!  She's a smashing success!  She happily receives Eloisa's accolades back in the dressing room but misses the most important person:  Osvaldo!

Ambulances arrive at the scene of the accident!  Gael is put in a stabilizing neck brace and paramedics size up Osvaldo's condition.  He is upside down and his neck is at an awkward angle!

Pedro and Fiorella continue crying, pledging endless love...get your drinks and chocolate ready as Pedro says, "We didn't fight so long and hard for our love for it to end this way!"  Their rebonding is interrupted by a call from Dr. Elizalde about Gianna. . .

Gael and Osvaldo are wheeled into the hospital past an unsuspecting Fiorella and Pedro.  Dr. Elizalde enters with an air of urgency. There's been an automobile accident but what he has come for is to tell her the authorization papers must be signed pronto, Gianna had a crisis!  Pedro and Fiorella kiss as if one is about to leave the country, or at least the hospital but then they both go in the same direction, following Dr. Elizalde!

Federica is going to get her tail RPCd tonight!  She gets a letter in jail indicating that she did not clean out the Angeles coffers so she is pissed!  Cell mate steals her blanket and tries to entice her over to her rock hard "bed."  Freddie passes but swears through gritted teeth that, "They will pay!"

In the dressing room it begins to dawn on Sonia that something is very wrong. "Osvaldo is the man of my life.  Now that he has changed and things are better, I don't want to lose him."  Eloisa feels it, too but she keeps up a stream of happy chatter and reassurances to calm Sonia.  Eloisa is sure Sonia will continue to fight to keep the gains she and Osvaldo have made.  After all, they are going to be parents!

Fiorella and Pedro at Gianna's bedside.  Fiorella offers hope, encouragement and faith.  Dr. Elizalde comes in.  Time to go to the operation!

Eloisa, Fidel and Sonia arrive home and learn from Simoneta, Benni and Roxi that Gael has not returned home and is not at the hospital.  Eloisa tells them Osvaldo never arrived at Sonia's gig.  Simoneta informs them of Gigi's deteriorating condition and need for emergency installation of the artificial heart!  Eloisa sends Fidel to locate Osvaldo and Gael and Benni to take her to the hospital!  Sonia goes upstairs to continue trying to reach Osvaldo by phone.

Fiorella, Pedro, Julieta. . .hugging and crying. . . .anxiety and reassurance. . .

Beep......beep.....beep....Osvaldo and Gael are in the same emergency suite.  Medical personnel examine Osvaldo's eye reflexes.  Next to him a bloodied Gael takes in a big, gasping breath and opens his eyes which stare, without focus, at the ceiling!

Pedro, Fiorella, Sergio, Santino and Julieta get an in-person update from Dr. Elizalde!  There is a heart for Gianna!  Happy gasps and thanking of the Lord!  Elizalde tells them there was a terrible fatal car accident.  Pedro wants to know who the family is so he may thank them.  Elizalde says they don't have that information yet.  He does know the "blood type" of the donor heart is compatible and he suddenly remembers he's got doctoring stuff to do so he runs off, leaving the jubilant family in the waiting room!

Back at the ranch, Sonia gets a phone call.  Someone, probably the police has called, having found the phone number in Gael's phone at the accident scene.  Sonia's dread is palpable as she gets details about the accident that we don't hear. . .

Zip!  We're back in the waiting room at the hospital and we get a montage of the hopeful, waiting family and scenes of the operation on Gianna. . . .then, the time warp ends and we're back at the ranch where a tearful Sonia tells Fidel about the accident.  He springs into action, calling hospitals.  Sonia sobs.

A whole night has passed. . .tense, pacing family. . .Pedro, Fifi, Roxi, Sergio, Benni, Santino, Julieta, Eloisa. . .Eloisa wonders where Gael is when. . . .Dr. Elizalde, his bright blue scrubs as fresh as if they were just laundered, bursts into the waiting room.  The surgery went very well, now is the waiting to see how her body will react!   Relieved and joyous hugs all around!

Fidel has gotten some information!  Are you sure, he says!  A barefoot and exhausted Sonia slumps on the piano.  Fidel concludes his call and rouses Sonia and gives her the bad news that there WAS an accident, they were transferred to the same hospital but one of them didn't survive.  Sonia's kness buckle as she wails and sobs!

RPC.  Freddie hoodwinks her mean cellmate with her fortune cards convincing the cellmate that two buff chicks arm wrestling at the next table want to challenge her for her leadership role in the joint.  Mean cell mate marches over to their table and ass-whuppin' ensues.  Freddie looks on.  Her confident smirk is back.

We return to the hospital.  Dr. Elizalde gives Pedro an envelope with the name of the donor just as Fidel enters the waiting room.  He goes to Eloisa and tells her something terrible has happened.  Poor Sonia staggers into the room, barely able to walk upright so pained is she with grief.  Everybody rushes to embrace her as she wails and sobs some more.  Pedro has read the name in the envelope and his face is ashen and stricken.  He goes over to Sonia and holds and comforts her.

Five Days Later:

Vitto thanks Alvaro for helping him reopen La Dolce Vita.  Diana is there as well and they welcome Rey and Adela.  Yah, they argue loudly...hee heee>>>FF

It's Dr. Elizalde again, giving an update on Gianna but this time he's in his crisp white coat! Pedro and Fiorella can see her soon when she's transferred from ICU to moderate care.  It's rare to get a heart from someone so closely related.. .Pedro says his heart gave Gianna a chance to live.  Elizalde says they are fortunate his heart was in such good shape.  Pedro says something about destiny.  Elizlde advises them to be gentle but not to lie about who her donor is.

At the Ranch Sergio discusses ACorp's imminent demise. . . .just as Santino is coming down the stairs.  Long story short:  Santino offers to bail out ACorp.  Well, he's part of the family now, Pedro is his son-in-law and Fiorella could become a Partner.  Simoneta bolts down the stairs and accepts his proposition!  Eloisa scolds her for being a busy body and I say she's the first bright spot in this episode!

Gianna is awake.  Fiorella and Pedro gently inform her she has a new heart but Gianna wants HER heart:  "Where is Gael?"

Freaky Freddie and Bad Ass Cell mate are thick as thieves.  For some reason the fight has made Bad Ass indebted to Freddie.  What does Freddie want?  Just name it!  "I was framed.  Help me escape!"

Lord, have mercy!  Gianna is starting to hyperventilate and whine and get distressed!  Didn't Elizalde say she had to stay calm!?  Thank goodness Gael is wheeled into the room, complete with healing cuts but Gianna is relieved to see him and wants to know all about the accident!

At El Rancho Roxi offers Sonia love and encouragement to focus on her baby and be strong for her baby.  Through tears, Sonia says she will.  She will be strong and protect her baby for the baby's own sake, and for Osvaldo!  Roxi hugs Sonia and tells her she is her favorite singer!

Gael tells Gianna, Pedro and Fiorella about the accident and we fade to shades of gray. . . .not that kind.

They were both unconscious when they arrived in the emergency room.  Gael wakes up first and asks what happened, where is his brother?  No one answers.  He turns and sees Osvaldo on the gurney next to him and calls his name.  Gael calls out, "Save my brother!"  Osvaldo's mouth moves wordlessly and then he turns to Gael and rasps,

O:  I feel like I am dying

G:  No, don't say it!

Osvaldo's eyes flutter.

O:  Gael, Gael, please forgive me. . .I've been a terrible brother.. .

G:  No. . .don't ask me to forgive you!  It's not true!

O:  I told you you weren't my brother but you always have been. . .you were always by my side despite everything, even until now

G:  Don't say that. . .you're not going to die!

O:  Do me a favor. . .I want you to be my baby's Godfather

G:  Of course, but you and I will baptize him together. . .don't give up Osvaldo!

O:  . . .promise me that you will take good care of him. . .don't leave Sonia alone

G:  Yes, I promise. . .

O:  I want my heart to go to Gianna.. . .I love you, brother, I love you. . .

G:  I love you!. . . .No!   No!  Help!  Help!

Beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep. . . . .

Back to technicolor Gianna cries softly. . ."I can't believe it. . .Osvaldo. . .I can't believe it!"

Five Months Later:

Fifi and Petey have been given a wedding present of having their church wedding in Maratea, Italy! The whole family is gathered in the living room:  Eloisa, Sergio, Pilar, Sonia, Roxi and Benni - Benni calls Roxi "mi esposa" so they must've married; Santino, Julieta, Augustin, Gael and a radiantly healthy Gianna, even Vitto, Diana, Alvaro, Dominga and Simoneta are there.  Fidel is not.  He had to tend to a family matter back at his home town not too far from Dos Rios.  Anywho, tomorrow Pedro and Fiorella leave for Italy, but seems everybody is begging off!  Roxi and Sonia are nice and rotund, they won't be going, Papi Chulo is babysitting Katia; Eloisa is going to stay with Pilar who was advised against going by Alina -- say what?? -- So, I'm not sure who's going but several toasts are proposed:  Of course, the happy couple is toasted, Sonia toasts for the two babies and Osvaldo, Fiorella for the entire family!  Eloisa is proud of them all!

Night has fallen, the Angeles household is asleep and in waltzes Freddie into the darkened house with two big assed multi gallon jerry cans of ...no, not koolaid....gasoline!  This will be the Angeles last night on earth! Muwhahahahah!  She begins to glug the gas aaaallll over the living room.  Uh oh!  Fidel enters the front door.  He's on the phone with his uncle but smells the gas right away.  He walks right past Freddie though and she.......get ready.......hits the massive head of his above his hulking six foot eight frame and knocks him out cold with a clear glass flower vase!  THUNK!  Fidel hits the floor and Freddie baptizes him in gasoline and flicks her Bic. . . .

I tried not to be too mean or opinionated. I want us all to draw our own conclusions and have our own impressions of tonight's action. There it is, Peeps! Next to the last! Let's have at it! Corrections and expansions always welcome!

Love it all, Lila! We got one last crazy stand from Freddie after all. Will the mansion go up in flames?

I believe they flashed 5 months later for the final time jump. The wedding isn't tomorrow, they just leave to Italy tomorrow. I'm guessing they have to show all those folks begging off travelling to explain why Televisa only paid to have six actors fly all the way to Italy for 5-10 minutes of the finale.

More tomorrow.

Typing on my phone Vivi! Longer a answer in a.m. Grazie!

I'm glad that Gianna was saved but I didn't like the coldness that the Angeles family showed to osvaldos death like if they have never even care about him. OK he was not a saint and not the most pleasant person but I didn't like how they talked about his death being a miracle and how everybody so insensitively were talking about their happy plans in front of my poor Sonia that was left widow being pregnant. Well at least she didn't lose her child with the impression of osvaldos death but her crying was just heartbreaking. Mimi morales was awesome, sensational.

Good work, Lila. Only one more to go!

They left out some nonsense with Adele and Rey trying to pick names for Rox and Benito's baby. WTF? It was Italian-movie funny, I guess.

I figured that Santino would be ACorp's savior and Vittorio now has three restaurants.

This wasn't quite the halfway mark, but there could be run-over on Monday. If you have to record this to do the recap, add 15 minutes just to be on the safe side.

Thank you, Lila, what a Herculean effort on your and Sneaky's part to pick up the slack on this dreck! (bowing down to the ground - 3 times)

But, hey ... what about the ambulance Pedro called? Just kidding, these little details don't phase me anymore. :-)

Again, awesome job!

Late-to-the-party Nick

LILA, it was a beautiful recap. You and Sneaky deserve a hearty round of applause for every single night you have recapped!

Too many funnies to mention tonight but my favorite was the short and snappy--
"Beeeeeeeeeeeep......."

I did find the exchange between Gael and Oswaldo surprisingly touching, though disturbing that Gael kept screaming for a doctor and nobody came.
And looks like the transplant team just harvested the heart without getting permission from the family.

Actually heard a gasp from the Patio when Fed sloshed petrol all over Fidel... And stupid Fed is standing in the MIDDLE of all that gasoline about to ignite the Zippo. Not a good idea...

Thank you again Lila, look forward to seeing all the comments.

I had the impression that my poor Gianna felt bad when Sonia offered her Brindis for Osvaldo. It should be traumatizing for her to know that her husband lost his brother and that Sonia was left widow and her baby will grow without a father in order for gianna to be saved. Not that is Gianna's fault but surely it should be hard to assimilate it plus the fact of having the heart of one of her tormentors should be a little bit shocking. But perhaps it would have been more devastating for her that Gael had died.

Buongiorno a tutti!!

Hey, Marla Yah, I don't know if they're editing this late in the game but the absence of reaction to Osvaldo's death WAS shocking! Jeezopete!

OK he was not a saint and not the most pleasant person but I didn't like how they talked about his death being a miracle and how everybody so insensitively were talking about their happy plans in front of my poor Sonia that was left widow being pregnant.

And I agree the actress did a WONDERful job portraying Sonia's various stages of realizing something was wrong, then instinctively that Osvaldo was the one who died, the shock, the despair, the weight of the loss. Yah. She was awesome.

Grazie, Urban! Blech on Adela and Rey, glad they left it out.

Oh yes, thanks for mentioning that about Vitto opening a third Dolce Vita. Yah, Santino to the rescue was no surprise!

Thanks for the tip on Monday's show!

Mille grazie e benvenuto Nick! Awww, grazie tanto! Better late than never! Hee hee! Yah, that call was an insensitive waste of resources....We knew Pedro wasn't going to bite the bullet, didn't we?

One more show to go, Nick! Let's hope the finale is spectacular!

J in O! Amica, mille grazie!

I did find the exchange between Gael and Oswaldo surprisingly touching, though disturbing that Gael kept screaming for a doctor and nobody came.

Yah! What was up with that! Two critically injurered patients in the emergency treatment bay and people just left to go have coffee or what! Doh!

Here's one reason why I warned that beanies be chin-strapped on tightly:

And looks like the transplant team just harvested the heart without getting permission from the family.

And maybe Elizalde wasn't doing the actual surgery, just observing as a professional courtesy since he knows the family. Even as I type this I'm sure it's not true. . .that I could find some scenes of his brow being swabbed. Oh, well!

Tiny Fed knocking Giant Fidel out with a puny glass flower vase and then him being so profoundly knocked out that the cold, wet, stinging liquid doesn't bring him to. . . .I'm going to wear Jeezopete out this weekend!

AND, the way his hulking frame seemed padded, I think we could be in for some tragic pyrotechnics! Don't even want to go there! One thing is for sure. Security has sucked in this piece all the way through to the end!

Yes, Marla, we knew it was going to be Osvaldo, didn't we? And we all felt bad for Sonia. It IS very bitter that all her life and her baby's life she has to live with what you so eloquently describe in your comment above. I hope that Gael and Gianna will go live somewhere other than the Ranch so at least Sonia doesn't have to see Gianna everyday living and loving with Osvaldo's heart. Sonia will probably be very gracious and grateful and BUSY with the baby.

On a lighter note, what if Gigi starts huffing and puffing and bossing Gael around and become Alpha Bitch in her household!!!! HA . . .ha. . .heh...not funny? OK.

Awesome Lila and sorry I ran out of superlatives long ago to describe how amazing the ride.

Shout out to Sneaky and a special thanks to Kat if she's listening for piloting back to back to back shows.

"Dr. Elizalde, his bright blue scrubs as fresh as if they were just laundered, bursts into the waiting room"

Mimi Morales did a great job last night and admit I was negatively biased after seeing her in La Impostora. Overall here she's been solid.

I tuned out any and everything Petey said or did last night. How can you take that wimp serious?

Santino is a fool or he has so much money it doesn't matter throwing it down a hole. If he wants to help Fifi buy her a theme park.

I tried to carry 5 gallon buckets of water when building schools in southeast asia, it sloshes everywhere, heavy as hell and took me forever to go 10 yards. Looks like she's taller than me but how the heck did skinny Freddie stroll in with two big containers of petrol?

Did you see Gianna's face when she saw Gael? That's love.

Lila, a magnificent prelude the finale.

"hugging and crying. . . .anxiety and reassurance. . .", "Sonia's dread is palpable" and "Fiorella and Pedro gently inform her she has a new heart but Gianna wants HER heart" were among many favorites.

When I saw the brothers being wheeled in, I had a momentary flash - would they both survive? I pictured the doctor rushing into Gianna's room with news another accident, another donor had been found.

I was very unhappy the accident occurred while Gael and Osvaldo were immersed in such a bitter argument. I was relieved to see Os at long last was able to make peace with his brother.

Do we know how Freddie escaped??

I had a feeling of dread when she knocked Fidel down. Please, no more death...just a joyous wedding...

Lila, you have been the heart and soul of this TN. I have enjoyed every moment of this show but your fresh, smart and joyous perspective added immeasurably to the fun.

tofie, "Did you see Gianna's face when she saw Gael? That's love". Yes, it was, pure and simple.

Lila, while I am looking forward to see how everything is wrapped up, I am really looking forward to how you capture it all.

Diana

One more to go Lila!! How you didn't turn last night into one big snarky commentary shows you have far more control than I do. Thank you as always.

I couldn't even watch that whole opening with Fifi and Petey. My god, those two are just pathetic. I'm sorry.

As for the Asshat heart thingie, well I'm happy they went that way because at least he took did something worthwhile with his pathetic existence. Always love how death in these stories always gets the person to realize what a jerk they were, but at least Gael got an apology and his wife lives another day. Thanks bro'.

Sergio should have been in that car. I wanted to punch through the TV every time he gave snide looks to Santino. Good lord, what a jerk. And are we supposed to infer he is back with Pilar?? Because, no, she's better off without him.

I'm still wanting to know who the blazes costuming was in this show. Sonia wakes the next day having just lost her husband, hair and makeup perfect, a smart outfit and lovely dangly earrings. Really? And Fifi shows up at the hospital after Gia's operation all refreshed in another of her new wardrobe styles of tight dress and one ugly-ass necklace to go with it. Unbelievable. You would think they would want to try and stay true to the flower-loving lass we had at the start of this. Guess not. Even in fairy tales, the heroines can have a bad hair day with jeans.

If it hadn't been for Gia and Gael, I would have stopped watching this show long ago, so loved their room reunion, the way her face lit up, and even those looks they shared on the couch in the later scene. So much more "grown-up" then the two leads. Glad this is over because Livia's giggle and both Livia's and Jose's over the top emoting were starting to get to me.

That "farewell" living room scene was most likely the wrap up for the whole cast and seemed too forced. So we assume Benni and Rox are married? Gee, that would have been a fun ceremony to see? Why were Adela and Rey not there? But my thanks for including a farewell of Papa C. I will miss that man.

And don't get me started on that final scene. Everything about it seems to sum up the stupidity of the writing. And if they do anything to Fidel, death, severely burned, made an invalid...keep the wedding. I won't be watching.

Daisynjay

Fiorella, Pedro, Julieta. . .hugging and crying. . . .anxiety and reassurance. . .

Beep......beep.....beep....

So funny Lila. Like tofie, I found the opening scenes of Fiorella screeching and Pedro moaning and carrying on annoying beyond belief. So in my case, I just shut the whole thing off. Un.En.Dur.Able. Bless you for doing such a stellar job and respecting the feelings of viewers who might find this scene and others, authentic, noble and touching. Individual differences.

lots of cute quips in your recap, like:

[Dr. Elizalde] suddenly remembers he's got doctoring stuff to do

Eloisa scolds her [Simona] for being a busy body and I say she's the first bright spot in this episode.

But my favorite, maybe my ALL-TIME favorite was:

and we fade to shades of gray...not that kind.

Hooo boy, aren't you the rascal!

You and Sneaky Two Shoes, Kat and various guest recappers (were there any? my memory is Swiss Cheesey) deserve every possible accolade. We viewers can choose to skip an episode when it's too annoying. You all have to watch, sometimes re-watch and take copious notes. Not to mention the task of pulling it together into a meaningful, coherent whole and jumping through the various hoops of posting it.

All out of the goodness of your heart. Ain't no salary for doing this. You give your time and energy all for love of the viewers, the lurkers and the Patio. Bless you and thank you. A gazillion times.

Lila - Thank you for the recap! It was a great recap and oh so sassy!
”. . . and we fade to shades of gray. . . .not that kind.” That line elicited a real smile from me. ;-)

Par for the course, the local Uni feed shaved off half of the opening scene ....

The Gianna/Gael reunion had me almost reaching for a kleenex.

Vivi’s right --- it was “cinco meses despues.”

My guess is Doc E’s scrubs clean because he did not do the surgery. He probably got to observe, since he’s the family doc.

I was massively bothered by the scene of Os and Gael left alone in that hospital room. The hospital was probably checking to see if they had health insurance before they’d do anything else for them.

Simona cracked me up at the bottom of the stairs, casually dusting the wall, so that she could listen to the Sergio/Elo convo about Acorp belly-up status.

Looks like Rox and Ben are married, and we did not get to see the wedding. I feel cheated.

Ela Velden has been the real star of this telenovela. That girl can act! I hope Telerisa doesn’t ruin her with implants, Stepford-wife-like acting technique, and cosmetic surgery, thus turning her into yet another plasticTelerisa actress. Run, Ela, Run!!!

Tofitaaaaaa! Hey, girl! Mille, mille grazie! I thought it was you as I scrolled down the comment but I KNEW it was you when I read this:

Santino is a fool or he has so much money it doesn't matter throwing it down a hole. If he wants to help Fifi buy her a theme park.

That, and the observation on Pedro I can't argue with! Umph. Umph. Umph! Santino hasn't really paid attention to any of the conversations about ACorp. I hope his help includes a nationwide search for somebody to run it or he going to put Pedro and that whine-head Sergio at the helm! Oh, well, in the last episode they'll probably show us that ACorp is a powerhouse in Mexico and internationally. What evs!

Did you see Gianna's face when she saw Gael? That's love.

Yah! Siiiiiiiigh!

Awwww, Diana You're making my throat get all lumpy! Mille grazie, amica mia!

You know what? They didn't have to kill Osvaldo but it wouldn't be dramatic and novelaesque and ironic and all that schmaltz for an anonymous donor to have appeared. Sheesh!

I'd wanted Osvaldo to apologize and beg Gael for forgiveness. Guess I got my wish!

Somehow Bad Ass, her cellmate, helped her which begs the hell out of the question, "Why is Bad Ass still there?" Jeezo. . .

I had a feeling of dread when she knocked Fidel down. Please, no more death..

See first paragraph. . .it's almost a given, but then, these crazy people always splash gasoline everywhere, never get any on themselves and escape unsinged! With all the gasoline she dowsed on poor Fidel, I don't see how he's going to get out of this alive!

This is our last weekend! Let's hope they don't disappoint us, Diana! Grazie ancora!

Lila - Best.Title.Ever!
More later.
Ann C

Mille grazie dear Daisynjay Thanks to you and Tofie for leading the critical charge on this little escapade. I hear ya and I feel ya on everything you say and your last paragraph makes me sad! For Fidel and . . .well, I guess I should be happy if you are able to spare yourself some of the pain this little story has inflicted on many of us!

I couldn't even watch that whole opening with Fifi and Petey. My god, those two are just pathetic. I'm sorry.

I know opinions vary, but after that stupid, SELFISH, suicide guesture, Petey have definitely yanked and dragged them far away from the Novela Lovers Hall of Fame!

If it hadn't been for Gia and Gael, I would have stopped watching this show long ago, so loved their room reunion, the way her face lit up, and even those looks they shared on the couch in the later scene. . .

Gael and Gianna, however, I nominate them right now!

Yah, I caught the snide looks of Sergio to Santino and ignored them. Thanks for keeping his jerkiness front and center. His pickled heart guaranteed he'd survive this thing.

Hey! He could always come running downstairs, slip in the gasoline and join the marshmallow roast!

Thanks also for mentioning Benni and Roxi. He DID call her his wife! Jeez, that sure was glossed over!

Grazie, amica!

Awww, JudyB! Y'all making me get all emotional and I ain't even had breakfast yet! Mille, mille grazie, de verdad!

We've almost made it JudyB! Maybe this is the last super-long, super-hacked novela Telerisa will serve us and you and I and all our Patio friends will son be able to say. .

I survived MIVAC!

I won't spell it out til it's over! Grazie!

AnnC! Grazie! Glad you liked the title! See ya later!

Grazie tantissimo, Doris! You and I said the same thing about Dr. Elizalde's scrubs! I cut them some slack. He probably was just observing.

Osvaldo and Gael alone in the ER was creepy and stupid, wasn't it! Your real life observation about insurance is surely right on!

?Looks like Rox and Ben are married, and we did not get to see the wedding. I feel cheated.

Yah, could've skipped the Vitto stuff and the usual stupid argument between Adela and Rey.

This was so true, and so nice, it's gotta be said twice:

Ela Velden has been the real star of this telenovela. That girl can act! I hope Telerisa doesn’t ruin her with implants, Stepford-wife-like acting technique, and cosmetic surgery, thus turning her into yet another plasticTelerisa actress. Run, Ela, Run!!!

I've fixed the time jump segment - thanks, Vivi! -- and added the bit about Roxi and Benni being married!

DaisynJay:
"Good lord, what a jerk. And are we supposed to infer he (Sergio) is back with Pilar?..."
Actually at the hospital-chapel wedding, Pilar was sitting next to Papi Chulo. Real close. I had hopes... you know how they randomly stick people together in the gran finale. However last night Papi mentioned he was going back to Portugal to help Katia get started at the university. So I guess there's no fairytale ending for him and Pilar.

*Sigh*

Oh Lila I remember reading in the twitter of one of the writers or editors of this novela that he proposed gianna turning into a jerk with osvaldos heart and also he proposed killing Gael so he could be Gianna's heart donor and then a sad scene of her in the ranch touching her chest. Fortunately his ideas were rejected although the jerk thing could have been interesting.

Is that right, Marla! I was only joking but truth is stranger than fiction! Well, thank goodness Gael survived the writer's pen! He and Gianna ARE the stars of this show!

Lila- Thank you again for the tremendous about of work, love, snark, and dedication you have put into recapping this show. Every recap has been a joy to read.

Yes, we should be very grateful that writer's idea to kill Gael was shot down. Hope the others threw their pencils at him too. GaGi is the best thing about this tn.

I thought it was crazy that 5 days after Os died, Rox was getting on Sonia about drying her tears and moving on. Her husband just died, and she's pregnant! I thought the Sonia actress did a great job this episode. He might have been an Ass, but he was her Ass and she loved him. But, I really hope she doesn't name the kid after him. That name has been tested twice and both times the results were unfavorable.

Mille grazie, sorellina mia, Vivi! It is my pleasure and I am and have been a happy recapper!

I thought it was crazy that 5 days after Os died, Rox was getting on Sonia about drying her tears and moving on.

Gosh, yes! That kills me when people do that! It wasn't a goldfish that died! This is hilarious and bittersweet at the same time:

He might have been an Ass, but he was her Ass and she loved him.

Yes! PLEASE let the name Osvaldo go! And don't name him Maximo, either! Time to turn over a new leaf!

Like I said before my dear folks, this family indeed reacted so cold to Osvaldo's death. Well he was an ass and maybe he did deserved to have his punishment but at least they should have let Sonia live her grief in peace. I would like for Sonia to move from that ranch if she wants to have a healthy and happy child. She is a strong woman and she doesn't need the Angeles family to raise her baby. Oh please run from that house of psycopaths honey.

And well despite the sadness of Os death, I agree that it would have been horrible to kill Gael and leave Gianna sad and alone. It wouldn't have case to save her but this remembers me a spanish movie named Corazon para dos in which the galan dies and donates his heart to the woman he loved and that needed a heart transplant. It's a very sad movie.

By the way, I'm not sure but I think that this editor that I mentioned suggested something about Osvaldo planning an accident for Pietro but Gael falls in the trap and Osvaldo tries to save him. He also suggested that Ratana dies in an airplane crash. Oh that was a wonderful idea, bad that it didn't happen.

For the fans of Ela Velden, she recently finished her participation in a novela called A que no me dejas, which was a remake of another novela named Amor en Silencio. Unfortunately she is not in the whole novela and she appears til episode 70 or something near that. The novela has 2 parts and she appears in the second part as Valentina's best friend. The first part is about Paulina and Adrian and the second part about their daughter Valentina and the deaf-mute Mauricio who was adopted by Paulina. The novela probably is coming to replace La Vecina in the afternoons.

Thanks, Marla!

I was checking in the internet a little bit of yesterday's episode and besides cutting the Adela and Rey scene, they cut out a scene of Julieta, Sergio, and Santino in which Julieta was thanking Sergio for calling Santino and her to come to the hospital. She decides to go with Fiorella to support her in this heart transplant issue.
Also they cut out a scene in which Gael and Osvaldo were receiving blood transfusions but they were losing too much blood. A doctor was all desperate screaming that their vital signs were decreasing and they needed more blood. So the typical novela issue in which hospitals ran out of blood or they don't have at all.

Wow! I loved your humor even thought it was a sad episode. I just saw the episode right now and I cried.I know I was defending Pedro last episode, but he looked rediculasly stupid. Maybe because he didnt go through with it. Anywho, I felt sorry for Sonia. Her scenes really brought me to tears. The fifty shades of gray scene was touching too. Osvaldo got into heaven thanks to that last minute of his life. What really got me into this novela was the scenery and quality of the novela. The ranch, mansion, accident scene, the setup of osvaldo and gael in the hospital, ect

Ciao e mille grazie, Sheila! I think it was a sad episode as well but I see Pedro had the same effect on you as he's had on many of us. Many of my friends on the Patio never had him on a galan pedestal and this seems to be the way of the new galan. Painfully fallible, and all too human. The writers seem to forget this is supposed to be a fantasy, an escape!

Sonia and Osvaldo were powerful last night. So glad you joined us, Sheila! I like hearing about elements of this novela that are pleasing.

Let's see what they show us Monday! I'm going to try to present it as it unfolds and leave my commentary for the comments.

I said I will try! :D

I don't know what you folks think about this but wasn't a bit creepy how Osvaldo died with his eyes wide open and his arms hanging to the floor? He had a scary face, well Mike Biagio himself has a strong and mysterious sight perfect for playing villanos.

Changing theme, let's hope that Federica doesn't kill Fidel and that super Pietro comes to rescue him and keeps Freddie from burning the ranch.

Lila love the recap, thanks

ok I was ridiculously relieved to see Gael alive *sigh of relief*

and how could they skip Beni and Roxi's wedding, I wanted to see Beni's 'rents fight in church *smirk*

" He walks right past Freddie though " come on Fidel I thought you were better than that. He better not die though.

I'm with Marla, glad Sonia didn't lose another baby when Os died

Lila, loved it. Thank you love. Things began to move quickly After the misadventure of suicide boy.
Pedro-" We didn't fight so long and so hard
For it to end this way" really dipstick, and you're just now coming to that! After almost killin you poor moma. All I can say is he was
Out of his freakin mind.
There was that scene where roxi was talking
To sonia and she said when she hugged her
" you're my favorite singer but please don't sing right now", did yall get that on cc3? And
They both laughed a bit.
I was happy to see augustin there with his
extended family by way of gael. And Elosia is
So proud, that's good she should be proud because all of them survived the mess she and Maximo put together well, except for Osvaldo. I was very proud of him, his last  heroic act giving his heart away that was good and sad. But everybody that was evil &
Mean got their comeuppance. Fredrica is next.
Aitana ended up on another tn with the same
Hair dilemma.

When sonia came into the waiting area and
Elosia went to hug her, she looked like she was About to pass out, eloisa struggling to hold her up, Im looking at Benny Sergio and Pedro and I'm going, why don't somebody go up there and hold her up, she's falling down with grief and then everybody decided to go and help.
I wish all of them were going to the wedding.
it doesn't make sense for all of them not to go, I mean they were there for all the whole mess they should be there together when it Ends. Pregnant women fly all the time people with psychiatric problems fly all the time why are they keeping 1/2 of them home and then half of them go? this is why they should all be together they started together. Almost.

Let's hope, indeed, Marla!

Sneak! Sneak! Hey, girl! Mille grazie!! You know, we can't trust these writers, darn 'em!

Nina! Grazie tantissimo! This has got to be you:

Things began to move quickly After the misadventure of suicide boy.

I didn't hear that about "don't sing right now!" I remember they kinda laughed. I kind of skated by that. That's funny! Thanks for pointing that out, Nina!

Aitana ended up on another tn with the same
Hair dilemma.
HA!

In terms of most people not going to the wedding, I figured what Vivi confirmed. If they're really going on location in Italy, there is no way they're flying the whole cast out there so they had to come up with excuses. Reckon we'll find out Monday who all attends the wedding!

I really don't care if she burns the ranch down just since they don't kill Fidel, get everybody out of there and freddy can stay In there, shes about two steps from hell anyway
You know what else was weird? why was the good doctor coming to the waiting room and tellin them that "we have a donor" when they didn't even know if Osy was dead yet? and its pretty creepy of them to leave them in there alone and Gael screaming for help and then nobody shows up. Now thats 50 shades of darkness right there.
These folk aren't into morning for their loved
One at length. They want to hurry up and get it over with or they just want to hurry up and
Get this tn over so they can start with the next one.
Lila, you and sneaky 2 shoes are gems, thank you for the recapping of this, it's been good we have one more night to go and I hope it is really a good one.I still think they should have all of them to the wedding. Well, anyhoo whatever.

Oh Nina that would be a perfect punishment for Demoniaca.
Well Osy paid a high price for his past evil being the sacrificial lamb of these inept doctors. I wouldnt doubt that they let him die in purpose just to have a donor and pull out his heart.
And well surely the production ran out of budget and they couldnt take everybody to Maratea and pay their expences.

Hi, Lila! Great job as always. I have never been involved with a tn which had such a dedicated recapper! Thank you so much.

Regarding Doc E's scrubs being clean, that is normal, even if he did the surgery. A surgeon wears his scrubs, a hat and mask, and he/she does a 5 minute scrub to their hands and arm up to the elbow at a sink just outside of the operating room. The surgeon then enters the operating room with their hands held at about chest level, and is presented with a sterile towel by an OR tech who is already gowned and gloved. The OR tech then unfolds a gown and helps the surgeon put it on, and ties it in the back, then helps put on the sterile gloves. If there is a lot of blood, it will go on the gown and gloves, not the scrubs. Before the surgeon leaves the operating room he/she removes the gloves and the gown. The mask can be pulled down or removed once you are out of the operating room.

So, Osvaldo saved his soul with his death wish: My soul is with Sonia, but give my heart to Giana.

Freddie's sweat pants were visibly wet from the gasoline. I guess we all hope she goes down in flames and Fidel is somehow spared, but, boy, she really dowsed him.

Well, Mondays episode will be interesting. I am waiting in anticipation to see how they tie all this together, and especially how you will recount it for us, Lila. Thank you so much for your wit, wisdom and skill!

David

Buongiorno, David! Mille grazie and you are welcome, sir!

David, thank you for your explanation of operating room procedures and sterile technique! Perhaps this is one thing they got right in the medical scenario!

Ah, this is a wonderful epitaph for Osvaldo!

So, Osvaldo saved his soul with his death wish: My soul is with Sonia, but give my heart to Giana.

Hopefull we WILL pickup Monday by seeing Freddie getting a prelude to hell but, I agree, poor Fidel is really soaking in petrol, isn't he?

We shall see and thank you again, fratello!

Pedro seemed to smell petrol, I hope he can
Get down stairs and somehow keep freddy
Kruger from doing her rendition of "you light
Up my life" on fidel. Wow david she really did
Doused him. Hurry up pedro, or somebody.

Oswald, now thats a death wish that does
Double duty, save a soul and a life.

I would really like to see that guy that played gael's dad In a Leading role, a galan maybe or something. That is one pretty man.

Lila: Thank you very much for the recap!

Just when you thought things were going back to normal, the Villains keep throwing wrenches at us!

"you light Up my life" Girl, you a trip!

Grazie, Steve! Oh, they don't stop until the final minutes!

I'm in shock and awe Lila Gurrrl, thank you for all your hard work on this helluva ride.

I agree with everyone who thinks this show should have been WAY shorter.

Marcus Ornellas was in A Que No Me Dejas as a character named Ariel. Keep an eye out for that and Amor de Barrio (AdB because it's a shortie and sensible kind of wild ride.)

-Encaje Rojo

Grazie, grazie, Encaje Rojo! You are welcome, my friend! We're almost at the finish line, aren't we?

I have heard about A Que No Me Dejas. Heard that it's good! Thank for the tip!

I was surprised that Fed had her tarot cards in prison. I guess things like that are allowed.

Pedro seemed to hear or smell Fed's gas dousing so hopefully he will stop Fed. They better not kill Fidel!

Buongiorno a tutti! We're on the countdown to the Grand Finale tonight! Don't miss it!

Yeah, Doris. I was a little surprised as well. Didn't take Freddie long to size up Ms. Bad Ass and use her to her advantage. If they kill Fidel. . .this will take this novella to the top of the baddies list, where it didn't have to be!

Doris and Lila, I wonder if Pedro is sleeping with the pistol from the home office under his pillow? Maybe he can off Freddie with a head shot, thus saving Fidel.

David

Sounds good, David! That's the problem. Makes too much sense!

But there's petrol everywhere. Wouldn't something like a gunshot ignite it (even if it were headed towards Freaky Fred's head?)

BTW, there are 3 alternate endings.

-Encaje Rojo

After we have seen the ending they've decided to give us, where can we look to find the alternative ones?
Ann C

YouTube.

-Encaje Rojo

I guess that's the way to try to make everybody happy. I would be happier if the galan hadn't contemplated suicide and the evil grandpappy hadn't been the voice of reason! What.Ever!

random comment that I've been wanting to make for a while, but kept forgetting...since Joaquina died - Simona became super servant? Is she cleaning that house all alone? Is she cooking, serving, and cleaning up behind everyone - even the other domestics/drivers? Super Simona!

Good afternoon Kendra. As to your question, I think they said they would hire another servant but I'm not sure. That's something that I have never undestand of this novela rich families. They usually have only 1 or 2 servants to do all the work of a big mansion everyday but they always are only gossiping, we never see them cleaning. In that case, oh my poor Simona how come she is always so happy with too much work to do, she surely ends up exhausted.

I think most series have fewer servants now because of actors' salaries and because they often have "filler" subplots. I'm still scratching my head over the few servants on PyP when there are two filthy-rich families.

oh yeah super Simona - she was always super to me!

Lila I just ditto your last comment so much

\But then reading Marla's comments of how much worse it could be I guess we got off light

Thanks! I was just curious

I think it's good that he didn't have a gun. He would probably had to shoot because Frederica had already opened up that cigarette lighter and the flame was blue, if he had shot her she would have dropped It and poor Fidel would have gone up like maypalm.
And them too.
