Connie suffers alone, missing little Erick. Regina comes to visit her. Regina pours her heart out about seeing David and Dani together. Connie reminds her that she is now with Jorge. Regina wanted to get David away from her family, but now he's back in because of Dani. Connie says that because of one thing or another, neither of them can be with the one they love.
Eladio comes home to his empty hotel room. David comes knocking at the door. Apparently Eladio asked him to come over to tell him that he is "giving" Julia a divorce. He still loves Julia and he asks David not to judge his mother because he (Eladio) has made alot of mistakes in the past. He now understands that Arturo may be her happiness. David is impactado.
Julia is crying while she looks at a picture of Eladio. Hummy rolls in and asks what's wrong, what did Eladio tell her. She tells him that Eladio is going to give her the divorce. Hummy is fine with the idea. Julia leaves the room and Hummy calls Art to tell him the news. He leaves him a message and reminds him that he owes him big time. Hummy thinks that he deserves a trip to Las Vegas from Art.
Connie and Regina talk about their lost loves. Connie thinks Regina still has time to get back with David, but Regina doesn't think so. Regina cries that she sacrificed herself so that others wouldn't have to suffer, and she and Connie think that Art should have done the same with regards to Julia. Connie thinks that Regina's sacrifice wasn't worth it and she should try to win David back but Regina says it's too late because David already chose Dani, and she chose Jorge. Connie says that Regina's making a mistake and to be careful because she could end up hurting Jorge too.
David apologizes to Eladio for telling him about Art going to visit Julia at the house. He thinks that that caused Eladio to lose hope in getting back with Julia. Eladio reassures him that that is not the case. Eladio tells him that up until yesterday he wanted to tell Julia that the happiness they had was worth fighting for, but what's the sense in wanting her if she loves someone else? David is affected by their separation, but he thinks it's for the best. He just asks that Eladio not leave Julia unprotected, at least not until Julia and Artu...(oops, David just stuck his foot in his mouth by almost mentioning Arturo's name). He apologizes once again. David will understand if he doesn't want to give anything to Julia. Eladio tells him that everything that he built, everything that he gained, everything that he has was for his mother. Tears stream down Eladio's face as he says that it was all for her, thinking about her. The pain is heard in his voice when he says that none of it worked and he's not going to fight with Julia now. He still loves Julia, so much so that if she were to ask he would give her everything he has because without her.... with everything he has, with all the power, with all the money, he is a miserable man. He is nothing.
Julia talks with Simona. She says that for years she wanted to divorce Eladio, but now that it's a reality it hurts her to loose him. Simona tells her to tell Eladio how she feels, but Julia won't do it. She won't humiliate herself. Besides, she knows that when Eladio makes a decision he doesn't change his mind, plus she needs to have some dignity. Julia knows she will never be able to forgive him for the Franco situation. Simona comments that it's a pity that Eladio waited too long to change. Julia says that he changed so much that he's not even willing to fight for her.
Art's on the phone with Hummy promising to give him what he wants. Auggie walks in and sees that Art is super happy. Art tells him that Nina is finally going to give him the divorce. Miguel comes in with bad news. He shows Art a news story about protests at the site of their new project. They know this will give them alot of bad publicity.
Regina walks into the house while Dani is saying goodnight to David over the phone. Regina wants to know if Dani really loves David, or is she doing this just to get back at Regina. Dani says she is serious about David and she has no reason to give explanations to Regina because Regina is the one who left David. Regina says that Dani went looking for him without caring that he was their father's lover's son. Dani thinks Regina should have learned to manage things better. It's not her fault that Regina doesn't know how to fight for what she wants. Regina had her opportunity, and now Dani is going to do everything possible to make David forget about Regina. Regina is at least relieved that Dani recognizes that David still loves her (Regina). Dani says that's for now, and Regina shouldn't be pissed because she is the one that brought Dani closer to David because of what she(Regina) did. She also tells Regina not to play the victim. Regina tells Dani that she doesn't understand a thing. Dani tells Regina to pay more attention to her boyfriend Jorge, she will take care of David. Because now she swears to Regina that she will never leave him (David). Regina looks like she made the biggest mistake of her life, or maybe she just had some bad chinese food.
Art scolds Erick for not thouroughly researching the Myan project. It's now going to cost them more money, that's even if they give them permission to build. Art thinks that Erick hasn't learned a thing. Erick says he didn't want to give Art any problems, especially now, with the way things are going with his mother. Erick knows that Art left the house the night before and that he is leaving the house to Nina. He wants to know how Art plans to divide his assets. Art tells Erick to leave him alone. Erick leaves the office.
Nina and Regina have a chat. Nina doesn't understand why Regina broke up with David. Regina says she did it out of respect for Nina, because he is Julia's son, but that it didn't matter to Dani. Nina tells her she didn't have to do that and that she should have asked her before breaking it off with David. I bet Regina wishes she had a DeLorean right about now. Nina prefers Regina be with David than with Jorge. Regina doesn't want her mother talking bad about Jorge because he's a good guy. Nina says it's not the same being with a good guy, than being with the man you love. Regina doesn't think she could be happy with David. Nina knows she is suffering because she heard her crying last night. Nina tells her that she signed the divorce and that Art is leaving her the house to be with Julia.
Art and Hummy are talking in Art's office. Art promises to take Hummy to Vegas, and to give him some money for helping him. Hummy expects Art to make Julia happy and to not hurt her again. Art says that he learned his lesson, and it took him more than 25 years to be without Julia, but life is going to compensate him because now Julia will be with him, the way it should have always been.
Caridad walks into Eladio's office and finds him feeling like crap. He says he had a bad night. Franco is listening at the OPEN door and overhears Eladio saying that he and Julia are getting a divorce and that it was his idea.
Jorge and Regina are dining at a restaurant. Jorge tells her that she is super special to him. They kiss. FF>>
Franco tells Caridad that since Eladio is getting a divorce, now's her chance to win him back.
Petra and Dani are out on the patio and start taking selfies together. Petra wants to show them to her envious friends. Nina comes up and wants Petra to bring her a tea. Petra asks for Art (el senor). Nina tells her that he no longer lives there. Petra can't believe that he pulled a Miguelazo and left without saying goodbye. Nina wants to talk to Dani about David. Is she serious about him or just out to hurt her sister. Dani says she is serious about David. Nina wishes that Dani had more loyalty to her sister and the family. Dani says that she is practical and not dumb. If Regina left David to be in good graces with you then that's her problem. Nina tells Dani that Regina didn't have to do that for her and she told her. NIna is just glad that Dani is no longer with Assmore because he is too old for her. Dani tells Nina that Assmore is still calling her and leaving her messages. She wants to send him away the next time he calls. Nina tells her to be very careful because he has alot of money and still has business dealings with Art. Dani needs to figure a way to get Assmore out of her life.
Caridad tells Franco that she can't force things with Eladio because he still loves Julia. Caridad won't do anything until Eladio is divorced. Franco thinks that she needs to learn to fight for what she wants. He sees the way his mother looks at Eladio and knows that she still loves him. Caridad admits she has feelings for Eladio but doesn't want to committ the same mistakes from the past. Franco says that it's a shame because another woman is going to take that chance and Caridad will loose her opportunity. He tells her to think about it. Right now Eladio is depressed and vulnerable. It's the perfect moment to get close to him, for him to remember why he was with Caridad. He tells her to do it little by little, discretely. Don't let another woman take him from you! Franco hugs his mother, then Caridad walks away and leaves Franco with a huge smile on his face.
Julia is at a therapy session.
Therapist: "Would you have preferred to be the one to ask Eladio for the divorce?"
Julia: " What hurts me is that he doesn't care about fighting anymore."
T: "He fought for years. You told me you felt like you were in a golden cage, very secure, but without freedom."
J: "But I was accustomed to that."
T: "Now that cage is open, you can be free to do what you want."
J: "Yes, but it scares me. It scares me."
T: "That's only for the time being, but it could be worth it if you can be happy. Tell me Julia, what are you going to do with that freedom?"
J: "I still don't know if my happiness is with Eladio, despite everything we have been through."
T: "Don't act prematurely. After you are divorced, you can see how you feel alone. How you feel with Arturo or with Eladio. Who you miss more."
J: " Who do I miss more? No, no, no, I can't even think about that right now. It scares me."
T: "Well then, is it easier for you to think that they both want to be with you, without you first defining your feelings?"
Eladio and David talk about the Art not being able to complete the Myan project. Eladio thinks they can come up with an environmentally friendly project.
Erick is trying to convince Art that they just have to wait for things to calm down, then they will be able to begin work on the Myan project. Auggie comes into the office and tells them they have bigger problems. They received a warning from the Businessman's Association. They want Art to forget about the project. Art knows that Eladio is behind this.
Fanny and Nina talk. Fanny knows that Art left Nina the house because she is dating Rueda. Fanny also found out that Dani is dating David, but she found that out through social media. Nina is worried about Regina, but the only good thing about Dani and David is that it will hurt and frustrate Julia.
Caridad tries to get close to Eladio by bringing him coffee. He is frustrated by her and he wants her to stay away. She knows him well and knows he is suffering. Art interupts them and confronts Eladio. Eladio lets Art know that several companies, including his, are now interested in doing the Myan project the correct way. Art thinks it's Eladio's way of vengeance for taking Julia away. Art says he's now going to concentrate on what most interest him. Art recalls Eladio telling him that he had what Art wanted the most, Julia. Now that the divorce is on, Julia will come back to where she belongs, with me. She's going to be mine, and only mine. Eladio tells Art that Julia can't forgive him for what happened with Franco, but that she loves Eladio. Art can't come in and erase all the years they have lived together. Art states they are years of suffering and humiliation. Art says Eladio hurt Julia because he knew that Julia married him loving Art. But life is now paying Julia back for everything she went through while being married to Eladio. She has another chance to be happy with me (Art). Eladio thinks that's great and then tells Art to get the heck out! Art runs into David on his way out. David asks why Art was there. Eladio says Art was there to rub the divorce in his face. They think the only person he could have heard it from is Julia. Damn you, Hummy! I can't wait for Julia to find out what her dear ol' dad has been up to.
Jorge tells Regina about a new project that Art gave him. FF>> He wants to work on the project with Regina, but she doesn't want to.
Eladio thinks that maybe Julia fooled herself into thinking that she loved Eladio, therefore causing her more pain when she found out the truth. Eladio thinks that maybe Art is right. Maybe life is now compensating Julia for all she suffered being married to him. David agrees and says that Art is now supporting Julia. Eladio has concluded that Julia is not suffering because of their separation and he accepts that as his punishment.
Jorge doesn't think that working with Regina will be the same as when she worked with David. FF>> He won't be acting jealous. He knows that the day Regina doesn't want to be with him she will tell him. She promises to be sincere with him. He tells her not to worry, they don't have to work together if she doesn't want to.
Hummy rolls in wanting to talk with Julia about her pension from Eladio. Julia doesn't want anything from him. Hummy is impactado. She also tells him that they need to cut their spending budget too.
Gaby gives Caridad a birthday gift. Gaby confides that she is worried that she won't be able to get pregnant. Caridad offers to go with her to the Gyno to get her test results. Gaby tells her not to worry, Julia is going with her, but asks her not to tell Franco.
We see Dani sitting in a restaurant, then we see Auggie and Connie at that same restaurant, but at another table far away. Dani has asked Julia to meet her there. Dani tells Julia that she is serious about her relationship with David. Connie and Auggie talk about her child custody case. Connie is angry that she can't be with her son or with the man she loves. Connie turns and sees Dani and Julia together.
Caridad tells Franco that she feels guilty about lying to Gaby. Franco tells her to either stay away from Gaby or from her grandson. He thinks the best solution is for her to stay away from Gaby. But first she should fix up her house because it's horrible.
Julia thinks that Dani sounds very convincing. Julia tells her that things don't always turn out the way you expect. Dani doesn't think it's a sin for her and David to be together, and Julia agrees, but Regina doesn't think the same way. Dani is well aware how much pain her mother has gone through with the divorce, but she loves David so much she is willing to have a relationship with Julia. She is not like her sister. She is willing to defend her relationship with David. And she thinks that Julia should do the same with her (Dani's) father.
Miguel goes to see Connie at her apartment. He doesn't want Connie to be without her son and him too. She says she is being punished, and that she will never to able to be happy. She tells him that she loves him and begs him to leave. He does.
Franco meets with the accountant from the other day. He tells him to find a way to steal money from the company. With that money they will secretly start buying company shares. Franco meets with the accountant from the other day. He tells him to find a way to steal money from the company. With that money they will secretly start buying company shares. The accountant asks what happens if they get caught. Franco tells him that won't happen. Sorry patio peeps, but this is where my recording stopped. I don't know if anything happened after this scene.

So...Are Art and Hum going on a road trip to Vegas? Wait until Julia finds out that Art has been conspiring with her greedy dad to get her back. Yuck.
Speaking of Julia, her counselor seems to have her number. She likes being desired and pursued and foughgt over by both Eladio and Art . She has been pushing Badladio away with both hands, but now she is hurt because he won't fight for her anymore. Really, Julia? This mujer needs some time alone to get her act together. She is driving me crazy.
Nina, on the other hand, seems to have turned over a new leaf along with new hairstyle, makeup, and wardrobe.
Assmore dies not seem like he plans to quietly give up his playmate. I do not think that Dani is going to be around at the end. Did she really tell Julia that she was okay with her being with Art? that means David will end up with Reg. I am really not happy with that. Reg gave up on David too quickly. I guess she never heard " Stand by Your Man."
Franky just gets greedier and more disgusting, pushing his mother to go after dad atvtge same time he is splitting against dad. There is a giant anvil directly above his big head. Pretty is as pretty does, Franky.
I need a pug in the blanket.

In previous comments, I remarked that it was strange that Consuela doesn't ever check the front door peephole before opening the door.
Last night, it suddenly became obvious to me why she doesn't do this.

AuntyAnn, thanks for your clear, concise recap. Your FF>> of the Regina, Jorge conversations were appreciated and in a way symbolic of their entire relationship. I'm beginning to feel sorry for Jorge, it is obvious that he is heading for a "I Love Regina," fall as well.
Carlos, in our "I Hope They Die" table or in my case, Life Without The Possibility of Parole Table," may we interprete the "they" as two people? Just as I chose Erick, Franco seems equally as terrible or WORSE. Decisions, decisions! If we are held to only one choice, we might have to take a laptop to the patio this afternoon and do a spread sheet to make our selection, a simple pin and paper seem inadequate for their multitudes of sins.

Yes, continue to pile hate on the victims. That's why so many don't talk about these things in the real world to any but someone they can absolutely trust. Both Julia and Regina have been emotionally abused and they want to be loved as much as anyone else. Regina had the advantage of being her father's golden child but that was due to her intelligence and her work ethic, traits that Nina never valued in her. However she also has a sister who is always trying to one-up her and a brother who would betray her at the drop of a hat. Being her father's favorite isn't enough to balance that out.
Nina also tried to force Regina to marry Joshua who would have cheated on her with Daniela. All to save her own face. When Regina finds out about the deal with the judge she will be done with Nina.

That certainly was out of context, but don't forget that she has always been more concerned with protecting Daniela than protecting Regina.

For once I agree with Franco. If Caridad would go home and take care of her place, she would have less time to meddle in everyone's life.

Every one talks about Nina's and sometimes Julia's attire. I thought that the shrinks dark brown suit, gold patterned tie and beige dress shirt was a great look. I wouldn't mind having that combo myself.

Dani said it well when she told her sister that she, Regina was too weak to fight for what she wants. Will Dani be one sad lady or out for revenge when Regina finally decides that David and no other is the man that she wants and that he is worth fighting for?

Now might be Eladio's last best chance to reveal all his ugly secrets to Julia. He's already agreed to give Julia her divorce and step aside for Arturo. He has absolutely nothing to lose by opening up about everything he has kept hidden, in particular the truth about Franco, Marentia, and Mateo. If for no other reason, Gabriela desperately needs to learn the truth about Franco before she gets pregnant and before he has a chance to sell her shoe factory.

No offense was meant! I accidentally typed "pugs" instead of "pigs" in a blanket when I was asking Carlos if he was srving appetizers with drinks at his table.Think of it as a cute puppy all warm and snuggly in a blanket. I love dogs , and I have had many throughout my lifetime. Most recently, I had a beautiful black lab. My dad used to raise Springer Spaniels plus many stray dogs were left off at our farm when I was a kid, and my family always adopted them and made them beloved pets. I have never bowned avpug, but my cousin Kathy had one..Gypsy, a sweet , littke girl . So..sorry, I truly did not nesn to offend pug owners or dog lovers. I was just being silly. Carlos, always eggs me on. We would never be allowed to sit next to each other in study hall or assembly! Carlos and I just get a little carried away sometimes. P.S. Susanlynn, I just have to conclude that our Carlos, however charming, was never a member of the Future Farmers of America, and we are just now seeing this deficit.
Sandy...umm..I don't know about that ..some of those future farmers were verra capable of throwing you under the tractor...or sometimes a cow. And I can name names. One minute they are picking wild strawberries , and the next thing you know, you're under that tractor...or cow. Just saying.

Susanlynn, I wasn't really offended. I enjoy the discussions at the "I Hope They Die Table." My neighbor had a Springer Spaniel, a wonderful dog. I found a picture of Balzac - so cute. I wish he would come to PyP so that there would be at least one likable character.

Glad that you were not offended by my silliness. My older daughter has a Nova Scotian Duck Toller . They are very popular in Canada and look a little like a small Golden Retriever with a coat the color of an Irish Setter. My younger daughter recently had to have sweet Golden Retriever put to sleep.
No pets in this novela except for Julia's birds in a guided cage. Maybe these people would all be nicer and saner if they had pets.

How I love these recaps (with bonus commentary)! I didn't get a chance to watch last nights episode, but I almost cried at the David/Eladio conversation. I don't know if its your spin on the emotion AuntyAnn or what how it was portrayed (can't wait to watch), but I'm literally tearing up...until I got to the Artie - I won - part. Ugh!
My second tearing up, because Nina was so hurt by him the other day (I missed the recap) that he doesn't love her like that.
Although it was boring, I was rooting for Reg/David...now I could care less. It's still icky with these sister/brother pass arounds, but for some reason if Regina suffers - I'm good! However, they have theme music, so they'll probably end up together. The writers are going to have to do some serious redeeming of her character for me to want the two of them back together. Where's Erick Jr. and Mateo? More baby less stupid people!

I often wonder whether different people write consecutive episodes. I know from interviews from a few years ago that a full week's episodes are shot over a week, but completely out of sequence so that scenes from three or more episodes can be shot in a single day. That could be more than half of this problem.
David definitely should want Julia to get more than something. She should take Eladio to the cleaners after 25 years of abuse and denying his paternity. However, David is still being an immature brat over the possibility of Julia and Arturo being together. Just as his love life is his own business Julia's is hers. Same thing in the Montenegro family.

Like tofie, I know these are not real people, but I couldn't help feeling sad watching how all of them were hurting each other so deeply. And for me, it ties in with a survey I just heard about where the number of people who believe divorce is a good idea is dropping steadily. I suspect the reason is a number of these people have lived through the chaos and hurt of their own parents' divorce and know the long-lasting damage.(Mind you, if it's one of the three A's...alcoholism, abuse or adultery) no one should have to go on suffering that.

Carlos, so sorry your Baylor Bears lost a squeaker to Yale. With no dog (or cow, in the case of a rodeo) in the fight, ordinarily I root for the teams of my patio mates ...but in this case, the missing Yale team captain is from Brentwood (Nashville) Tennessee, and given the circumstances, I was happy that Yale won.

My brother went to Texas A&M and became a veterinarian. He was also a rancher and raised Limousin cattle. His huge prize Limousin bull caused quite stir at the Houston Livestock Show some years ago. Unfortunately he died when he was only 62 years of a sudden heart attack. I sure do miss him. He took care of all our pets and was especially fond of our beautiful Pit Bull Bonnie Belle whom you may remember me speaking of.

Carlos...If I had Drambuie (or any liquor ) , I would raise a glass to your brother. It sounds like a life well-lived , and that is what is important. Our older daughter wanted to be a vet for awhile and joined 4H. However, she studied math and computer science instead.She loved our black lab Toby and practiced a lot on him. I am not familiar with Limousin cattle. My dad raised Herefords and many farmers and 4H members around here raised Black Angus.My Dad had a bull , and my mother thought he was dangerous to which myy dad always answered, "No, Billy is a nice bull." Thank you Auntyann. I enjoyed this recap better than watchin the episode. Regina is really stinging from that bad choice she made. She drank that bad koolade she mixed up. Im glad her mom told her it was a bad choice. what if dani is serious, what a mess. "Regina looks like she made the biggest mistake of her life or maybe she just had some bad Chinese food". I felt sorry for eladio, his hesrt is really broken. Arturo on the other hand is a jerk whose only interested in reliving the pass. Correcting his screwups. Not givin a flyin flip about nobody but artty. He is an arrogant SOB. Ol hummy is screwin him and juls. I really wish she'd stay with eladio. Yeah he messed up bad but he seems alot more remorseful than that pompous arturo. I really don't like that character jorge is playing, but he dose it well.

Wonderful recap! I loved that you detailed the therapist/Julia conversation, thank you AuntyAnn.
FC sure got me with those tears. What a touching and heartfelt scene between Eladio and David. I know all the injustices committed against Julia, but I believe Eladio truly loves his wife and is finally learning how to be loved in return. Eladio didnt come from a loving nurturing home..he is a man who has his own demons. I have hope that Julia will realize that she does love only Eladio and that Art is a memory of her youth. She wants Eladio to keep fighting, but all while she runs to Arturo. Ball is in your court Julia.
I have to admire Dani and her fight. She doesnt give up or let others dictate her happiness. Regina has given great lip service to David but no actions. Watch and learn Regina! Pity as it really does seem Daniis doomed.
