Pasion y Poder #112 20160328 Your Honor, I Was Raped Last Night, I Might Be Pregnant, and It's Making Me Very Horney
*In front of the judge, Connie accuses Erick of rape. The judge says no police report plus no rape kit equals no rape. He can't consider her accusation without proof.
*Gina asks Miguel how the custody case is going. Miguel doesn't know because Auggie suggested that he to stay away from Connie. Neither the judge nor Erick appreciate him coveting his brother's wife. Since, he's socially awkward he didn't get the memo about this being generally frowned upon by most of the world, so he'll have to take Augustin's word for it.
*Dave and Dani are still in bed together. Dave tells Dani that she can be herself around him. Don't change for me, he says. Translation: in manspeak he's saying that he's attracted to Angelina Jolie, not Jennifer Aniston. He likes him a a little dirty girl. Dani assures him that deep inside, she has always been the "Disney years Miley Cyrus" and not the "the Wrecking Ball and twerkin' Miley Cyrus". Matter of fact, she's a virgin too. Dave buys this because he's stupid. Dani tells him that she loves him and wants him to like her "different" than her sister. He assures her that he will.
*I don't know where Dave went, but Dani sneaks out of the hotel and buys coke from a guy name Mike.
*Ashmore visits GLA and tells Eladio that his spokes model does drugs.
*Dani is "getting her tan on" when her father finds her lying by the pool. He tells her to pack up her bikinis because the plane is on the tarmac. He knows that she's on drugs. Being an alcoholic is way different that being a drug addict, he says. She denies that she's a (meth/coke/crack/heroin/weed) head and accuses Gina of lying on her. Art tells her that Gina didn't tell him. Dave walks up and hears Dani and Art fighting. Art tells Dani that Ashmore told him. Now both Dani and Dave start jump all over him, but Art is standing firm. Dani is getting on that plane or he will drag her to that plane. Dani tries making her father feel guilty about having other children and supporting the family. He apologizes for feeding his family, but she's still getting on that plane. He tells Dani that he loves her and if it's true that she's a meth/coke/crack/heroin/weed head, the chauffeur will drive her to the best rehab center in the world.
*When Dani goes off to pack her bikinis, Dave confronts Art. Art want's to know why Dave is literally effing both his daughters. Dave says that Gina dumped him. He was depressed and Dani was there to comfort him. So what's your point, Art? Art tells Dave that he will not allow him to screw up his daughters....but it was in a menacing, "I promise that I might kill you" type of way. It was the "I would have to testify to this in a court of law" kind of way. He really means it. Dave should be afraid. Very afraid.
*Anyway, while Art is off calling the pilot, Dani tells Dave that she loves him. Dave asks Dani if Art's accusations are true. Suddenly, Dave remembers that he found her in bed, all coked out with a half dead man. She's was lonely and she's changed because of him. Did she mention that she feeds the homeless on Sundays. Dave buys this. Dave is stupid. He promises to get on the next plane to Mexico and will call her when he lands. Smooches.
*Back in Mexico, Connie tells Gina and Clara about the rape. It was totally disgusting. Ewww. She should have called the cops. Connie wants to take a pregnancy test because they didn't use protection. Ewww. Gina and Clara thinks this is so Ewww as well.
*Miguel hears the women discussing the rape. Miguel goes from nerd to pissed-off nerd in one second flat. The women try to stop him, but Miguel runs over to the mansion and beats Erick's a$$.

of EJ. Miguel doesn’t care ‘cause he has
to protect her. He wishes death on
Erick. Auggie says that he’s gonna
pretend that he didn’t hear that.
*When Dani and Art disembark, Art tells Dani that she gets
to take a piss test. Dani says that Art
can’t make her. Art says that he can and
he will. Dani is upset that Art doesn’t
trust her. Art says that he trusted her that
Ashmore had forced a kiss on her until he saw photos of her and Ashmore
together. Dani is saved by Miguel who
runs over and tells Art that he put an old-fashioned beat down on Erick. Miguel tells Art that Erick raped
Connie. Art says that he will
investigate this. Dani screams that
Erick is an angel sent to earth, like her and that he would never do anything
like that. Dani calls a chick called
Luly and tells her that she needs her ASAP.
Justin WTF and soon to be Mrs. Clara WTF are waiting in Dave’s
apartment when he returns. They chat
about the wedding (like men care).
Anyway, Justin and Clara painted the apartment. Dave thinks it’s great. After they leave, Dave finds a picture of
Gina and rips it up. Julia comes in and
finds the torn up picture of Gina. Dave
tells his mother that he is not over Gina, but now he is with Dani. Dave doesn’t want to talk about Gina.
Julia transitions the conversation to a delicate
conversation. How would Dave feel if
Eladio gives Franco the Gomez-Luna surname?
Dave says that Franco will only become MORE obnoxious, but Franco should
have the GL name if he has Eladio’s blood.
On the way out, Julia tells Dave to dump Dani and get a chick who’s not
on drugs and a girl whom he loves. Dave throws up Art in her face and they
begin to fight. Dani is a good girl, he
shouts. Folks, no one can foresee this
kind of stupidity and I hear it’s hard to cure.
*Gina tells Jorge that she can’t hook up with him because
Connie’s feeling blue. Miguel pops by
and Connie’s all like…"my hero" with him.
They kick Gina out and Connie quickly unbuttons Miguel’s shirt. He pushes her down on the bed and they get down to
business.
*Erick goes over to the judge and presses charges against
Miguel. Unlike Connie, he shows the
judge his proof by displaying his bruises.
He tells that judge that Connie is having an affair with his brother and
his brother concocted the rape story with his wife. Erick then visits Rueda and tells Rueda that
he set Miguel up. Erick deliberately did
not fight back. Erick tells Rueda not to
tell the police or judge that he didn’t fight back on purpose. Rueda asks Erick
why he raped Connie. Erick denies that
it was rape and says that she wanted to have sex with him. Erick wants to know what he can do to keep
Miguel locked up. Rueda says that he
will think about it.
*Connie wakes up in Miguel’s puny little bird arms and there
is pillow talk. I love you. No, I love you more. I will always love you and you, EJ and I will
be together.
*Miguel makes a triumphant return to his apartment that he
shares with Auggie. He’s punched a man
and took his woman. The day could not
get better, well until they heard a knock at the door. It’s the 5-0 with a warrant for Miguel’s
arrest. Augustine takes a look at
it. Book’em Dano.
Art takes Dani to the lab, directly to the lab and they don’t
pass GO. Luly shows up and tells Dani
that she’s "Luly" clean. I think Luly is supposed to take the test. The nurse hands Dani
the cup and tells her to do her thing.
Dani grabs Luly’s hand and tries to pull her into the bathroom with
her. The nurse tells Dani that this a
journey that she will have to walk alone.
Luly assures her that everything will be alright, but Dani pops
positive. Art gives her the “I’m so
disappointed in you” eyes. I feel so
guilty that I lower my head as well.
Dani protests. That
test is wrong. Retest. Art says great, they will retest again and
again. Dave calls Dani and she tells him
that the test was negative.
Gina goes home and beats up Erick, but Nina steps in. Nina has already quizzed Erick about
Connie. She believes that he didn’t rape
her. After Nina leaves, Erick tells Gina
that he will never let Connie be happy with Miguel because he doesn’t want
to.
Over at Gomez Luna Inc, Eladio tells Gaby that he loves her
like a daughter. Like a daughter that he
hides secrets from. Gaby says that
Eladio loves her more than Franco. In
San Diego, she found out that she might be barren. Gaby leaves.
Later, when Franco visits Eladio, he asks Eladio where he’s been. Franco says that he was at the notary. Eladio calls Franco a big fat liar. He didn’t give him anything to notarize. Franco says that he didn’t go to San Diego
with Gaby because he’s been ruining (I mean running) the shoe factory. Eladio says that he should have been there to
support his wife. Eladio knows that he’s
been hooking up with Marintia. There’s a
difference between taking care of your kid and "taking care" of your kid’s
mother. Eladio is not stupid. Franco goes home and brings Gaby what appears
to be an entire rose bush. Gaby is not
impressed, so he goes back to work.
Eladio asks what he’s doing there.
Franco says that Gaby was being mean to him, so he went back to
work.
Franco brings Eladio Marcos’ “corrected report”. Eladio decides that Marcos is good for
something and he will keep him on based on Franco’s recommendation.

I was glad to finally see Arturo in protective father mode. This should have been his persona, but it's better late than never. I hope Dani will receive the help she needs.
I am a peaceful person but must say that Miguel let Erick off rather easily. Everything on his unhandsome face stayed the same - nose nary askew - unfortunately.
Action packed episode and I look forward to the next part.

Ape Child's smugness in this episode was beyond repulsive. I was hoping Miguel would pulverize him.
Consuelo should have reported this immediately but Nina and her pet judge would have interfered and this would have played the same way, only tonight instead of last night. Now Augustin will have to get Miguel out of the slammer and Arturo will have another attack when he hears about this.
As for Daniela, I have no pity for her. Lots of kids grow up with imperfect parents and don't resort to drugs or booze. Having been through what that does to a family, she can rot for all I care.
As for the whole thing about "my brother covets my wife", Erick can just hang himself. They're divorced. Consuelo is his ex-wife. She can date whomever she pleases.
Nina has refused to believe that her precious little simian is capable of such a nasty act. I wonder what she would have said or done had she heard him brag about it when drunk.

Thanks for your recap Cynderella. Your commentary on dumb Dave was spot on as Diana noted. In addition to tns being too rapey for my taste, I dislike the whole when "galans are idiots" phase as well. Sometimes they pull stuff that makes it impossible for an audience to want them to have a happy ending. In our case, both David and Regina are acting like they have had lobotomies. Thankfully we have Petra and Clara to pull for with Justino getting a pass b/c he loves the latter.

The title pretty much sums it all up! I laughed through this entire part one. I can't pick one hilarious quote over the other because they were all - spot on! Miley Cyrus, Angelina Jolie, the list goes on!

Everybody else on this show looks out of their peephole, c'mon! I'm short and have to get on my toes to look out of mine. I wouldn't open up my door to that ass...my baby is not in your arms, so we have nothing to discuss.

Erick did confide to his mother that he let Miguel inflict a beating on him. Hence, he didn't fight back and just took the blows so as to further reinforce the battery charges he was planning to file against Miguel.

My 2 cents are that Consuelo had just been telling Reg and clara that she would need to do pregnancy test since Eric didnt use protection, then we see her and miguel in bed. I'm thinking they managed to complicate things more by Consuelo possibly being pregnant and not knowing who the dad is until dna is done. What a dilema, those too.
David is dummmm, here lately his high pitched "reclamos" are getting on my last nerve.

Gobluefan - Glad you filled that in. Since Erick told Nina, she should realize Miguel wouldn't have beat Erick for nothing. Now that she sees Erick is plotting without her, hopefully she opens her eyes about her rapist son.
I was also hoping Nina would have a light bulb moment about her precious little chimp but it looks like she is as blind as ever about him as she probably still is about her little Mini-Me.

Often , kids are influenced much more by their friends than their family, so if their friebds are drinking and taking drugs, they probably are, too. It was pretty easy to pick out the cliques...birds of a feather flock together is accurate in many cases.

I for one, believed the Miguel-Erik fight. Heart and emotion go a long way in a real fight compared to 'for the camera' fights like boxing.

David is sooo stupid. The actor's quirks are starting to bug me too, i.e. putting his hand on his eyebrow.
Connie jumping into having sex with Miguel so soon after being raped didn't sit right with me. When she talked about possibly being preggers are was surprised. Hadn't thought about that. Any reputable judge would have thrown out her rape statement. She isn't a stupid girl so why does she keep acting like it?

I approve of the fact that he is finally taking an interest in her and reaching out to her but he needs to realize that she is an ADULT and act accordingly. Of course opinions vary and I don't expect that there will be much agreement with me here. Perhaps Dani should seek out legal advice and representation.

I agree with what you said, Carlos. I was just jumping at the opportunity to mock Arturo Almighty. You are absolutely right in saying that no effort should be spared to help an addict, Diana. Arturo had to rush to Dani's rescue. However, dragging his adult daughter back to D.F. kicking and screaming is not the way to go about it. Making a scene in public, yelling and stomping his feet is counter-productive too. Arturo's reaction in Cozumel is indicative of his behavior with his kids throughout the course of this show. He doesn't give a rat's patootie unless there is some major problem involving the cops, or a life-threatening situation. And when he does intervene, all he can come up with is "You're grounded", screams, gesticulations, reprimands to Nina and a few Carambas thrown in for good measure. Then, 24 hours later he is back to obsessing over Julia and Eladio. Dani needs love, understanding and support from all her family members and friends. A planned intervention involving several people in a private and secure setting will be more conducive to her getting professional help than making a scandal in a hotel lobby. Just my personal opinion.

He had forged checks, stolen money and other valuables, and caused so many court visits and expenses that other relatives were advising her to leave him in a juvenile facility. She would have been better off if she had but he was still her golden child.

Addiction is a terrible thing. There are no easy answers. My cousin's son went to the high school where I taught, and He had a drug problem. He would look right in my eyes and tell me that he had stopped using. Then, I would talk to my mother, and she would tell me that she had talked to his grandmother and she told her that he was still on drugs. One day day his uncle ,who was my cousin and my age, killed himself and his friend because he was driving drunk. I thought that would snap this kid out of it. He knew that his uncle and I were close. I told him that he would end up like his Uncle Dave if he didn't stoascOne of my best friends has an ex daughter-in-law who has been in and out of some very expensive rehab centers, but she just cannot seem to stop drinking. I guess parents will do anything to save their kids, but there are no sure ways to do this. My ex son-in-law hid a while bunch of problems from us including drinking and drugs. I was amazed at how he hid so much even though we were around him a lot. I feel for parents who have to witness their kids with addictions...a slippery slope that often leads to ruined lives.

He knows there was past substance abuse (the drunken photo in the hotel corridor from way back when) and the shrink appointments that Nina helped Daniela avoid. Substance abusers are very good at hiding this from people close to them.

I agree with UA and Diana. i would trample all over my child's "rights" if they were in throes of drug addiction. I could care less about being politically correct and respect their choice in indulging in drugs, don't care how old my child is. No wayyyyy. Leaving a drug addict alone is like stepping out of the way so they can kill themselves. Addiction is a stronghold, and anything a family can do should be attempted even if it means locking them away. Sometimes even then it is not enough to break that stronghold, but sometimes it helps. Look at Brittany Spears, her father started handling everything in her life when she was out of control and it looks like it worked. She was the. breadwinner and had rights, but even legal system agreed to let her father step in and handle her affairs. Thank God he did.

I think the differences that we are are expressing here on the patio mirror real families and the confusion and conflict that addictions bring....

I don't think she wants to change. She is a selfish, narcissistic brat and people like this don't think they need to change.
The fear of losing her job with its fat paycheck is the weapon Eladio could use to straighten her out, but I don't think that is a permanent solution. And if this would happen again in another six months he could decide not to renew her contract.

Carlos - I peeped that move. The nurse handing the results to Dani, Art snatched them (bad enough, but ok) but then she says in front of Luli that the results were positive. Dani being an addict is doing what addicts do, but I really loved how she made her father feel like crap. Although she was being manipulative, there is always truth in what someone is manipulating to their advantage (or else the person won't fall for it)

I'm glad I wasn't drinking when I read - Miguel makes a triumphant return to his apartment that he shares with Auggie. He’s punched a man and took his woman...it would have come out of my nose! It was stupid, but as we know he and many of his family members didn't go to the school of common sense.

I wonder if some of the applause for Arturo's impulsive action is just that... applause for someone for whom folks are seeking reason to applaud. I don't recall a large number of tears being shed for the wayward Dani.

Whether the concept of forcing Dani into a drug test was right or wrong, SHE WENT and complied. She didn’t have to go, she could have caused a scene and stayed at the beach. By going, she demonstrated that she wants help.

While I completely understand Carlos' explanation, if I were a parent of a drug addicted adult child, it would be impossible for me to allow my child to continue on a destructive path. I understand my child would have rights and free will but to sit and watch him/her do harm to the possible point of death... :(

Teaching teens, I have seen families suffer due to young people becoming addicted to alcohol or drugs. Since the high school that I taught in was in a wealthy community , the kids had the free time and the money to buy drugs and alcohol. One parent got in trouble for providing alcohol for a party his kid threw...stupidity.
My friend whose ex daughter-in-law is an alcoholic tried to give her family advice because she was a teacher who worked in a school counseling program for students with addictions. She told me that one of the problems was that the girl's mother refused to believe that her daughter was an alcoholic and was enabling her. I have seen so many families dealing with addicted children. It is a sad situation. When I was growing up, we had great parties and picnics...no drugs (maybe an aspirin??) And no alcohol. Times have changed so much. I wish I knew what the answer was.

And for something different, I was happy to see an episode that had very little of Julia and none of Caridad or Mari.
there used to be a popular phrase.."tough love." I have known parents who turned their kids who were in possession of drugs or selling drugs in to the police . One couple had a son who started stealing from them and their church to buy drugs. He eventually went to jail. His parents tried to supportive, but they made him face his actions and did not enable him. It was a terrible waste of a life. He went from one lowpaying job to another. His health declined. He died in his early 40s. It was a tragic situation, and his parents suffered watching his decline. His brother is a church organist..married with a daughter. Go figure.

I echo Carvivlie's glee at an episode with minimal Julia and zero Caridad/Mouthbreather filler. I would also like to add my delight at Arturo's casual beachwear for the uptight businessman. He looked so yummy. How can Jorge Salinas make me hate him in a role when I love him so... JS deserves infinite credit for playing an insufferable holier-than-thou jerk so convincingly.
Sandy TN---I agree with that statement. She might not want to admit it but deep down She probably knows that she needs help. I noticed that she had tears in her eyes when Arturo hugged her. She is in desperate need of love--no, not from David.
Dani wants to be assured that her father loves and cares for her. That's the way I saw it anyway.

Carlos, I don't know why you cheer the nasty females, but no woman on this blog who has ever dealt with one is likely to be terribly sympathetic. Daniela is an attention whore who uses sex to get attention from unrelated males and bad behavior to get attention from her family.

I haven't visited Dani's table much on the patio, but that's mostly because she went after David the second time (she's currently on her third) and hit on Joshua only to vex Regina. She's not evil. I actually do like her sometimes, like the way she dropped David the first time and the way she stands up (when she's not drunk) to Franco. If she could get her act together, she and Regina could together run Art's business - Regina in creative development and Dani in public relations. Miguel could keeping running IT.

Daniela has said repeatedly she has been ignored by Arturo. Considering Arturo has ignored his other children too, this isn't an exaggeration by Daniela.
Not once in this show have we seen Arturo give Daniela an encouraging word.

I would be cheering Arturo had his approach been more loving and gentle and less condemning and accusatory. It's not like she was bleeding out. She actually seemed to be functioning rather well until she met up with Mike.

Oh, hardly. She knows full well how to get attention. That is how she is punishing her parents for having not paid attention to her in the past and her sister for being their father's golden child. And the half-brother whom her mother hated from Day One.
She seemed to be functioning normally, but lots of substance abusers do. She just got better and better at hiding her addiction. A good friend of mine has a brother who is a maintenance drinker. He manages to be a workaholic at the same time and if you didn't know him you'd think he was very successful. The reality is that he is just as much an alcoholic as the mother he continues to hate.

While Nina knew about Daniela's relationship with Assmore, I don't think she knows the whole story yet. Arturo was the one who found out that Assmore was Daniela's supplier. Although he hasn't said anything about it yet I'm sure he's also thinking that putting Daniela in rehab gets her away from him. I don't think that's a bad idea.
On Dani's functioning, agree Carlos....People aren't giving Dani the credit she deserves for holding her GML spokesperson job. In fact, she deserves as much credit as her sister Regina for enduring and functioning in the very difficult modeling world that is demanding and arduous. You can't be a flake and keep appointments for fittings, cosmetics and beach photographic shoots.
Cyndarella, this is an exellent recap. I'll say this,. Erick is sooooo stupid. And so is his lawyer. Ok that said, artty should have been lookin after his family instead of running around doing dumb things and tryin to take another mans wife, and now his family is going to hell in a hand basket. I've never seen a two-hour finale of any terranova maybe down in Mexico they have 2-hour finales but not here or maybe its on the west coast but I've never seen one on the east coast and if it's going to be a1hour they're probably going to chop it up to stuff two hours into one hour. if they do a two-hour finale it will be a first for me. very much appreciated.
