Pasión y Poder Capitulo #107 Friday, March 18th 2016 Hmm.. last weeks, you say, then why are the bad guys still winning and scheming??

At GLA, Eladio and Julia are about to sign the divorce papers that will bring an end to their marriage. They both struggle to get their signature on the papers, but end up dong so. In fact, Eladio does this funny thing where he takes out his pen to sign the papers, but then decides to use the pen that Julia used instead, and really struggles internally to bring himself to sign the papers. Julia is taken aback when Rueda explains that she and Eladio will be divorced in TWO DAYS. "So soon?!", she says in a disappointed tone. (Well, that's why it's called an "express divorce", my dear!)

At Casa Montenegro, the Montenegro kids prove that they are still five years old. Daniela joins Regina, Erick, and Nina in the garden, and asks that Regina not set foot inside the living room, because David is there, and Daniela wouldn't want for poor little David to have a bad time at Casa Montenegro. Nina and Erick get upset when they find out that Regina and Jorge have been doubling dating with Miguel and Consuelo. That's when things get really heated between the three Montenegro children and they all start yelling and screeching at each other like five year olds who are fighting over who gets the last chocolate chip cookie. Nina finally shuts them up and puts them on time out and calls Regina and Daniela out on what they are doing wrong, but she fails to call out Erick on what he is doing wrong, because for Nina, her Chimp, can do NO WRONG. #NotCool #BadMother #MamasBoy

Rueda says that the divorce can come out sooner since he's both Julia and Eladio's lawyer. He tells them that he'll keep them informed and leaves. Now alone, the two talk about their love, and Eladio says that "circumstances" separated them (Uh, no, it was the fact that you bedded another woman, knocked her up with your spawn, made her raise that spawn, lied about it, etc). When Julia tells Eladio how bad she feels about all this, he tells her "not as much as I do". Eladio then starts going on and on about his love for her. It's real and eternal and he laments that they couldn't find a solution to this "marriage crisis". He has realized that they won't be together in this life, but his tattoo says that they'll be together in another life. *rolls eyes* Julia has tears in her eyes and is so touched with his words that she embraces him.

Arturo sets the trap for Angeles by making her write a fake letter where he says that he will quit the Businessmen's Association (BA) to form his own association. Arturo then apologizes for his behavior the previous day and tells her that he believes in her when she says that she's not the GM mole.

Julia and Eladio now talk about time travel. Eladio would love to travel back in time to the happier times with Julia. Julia, on the other hand, would love to travel back in time to the precise moment when Eladio fooled around with Caridad, so he wouldn't do it. Then Julia goes on and on about how much it hurts her that he doubted that David was his son for many years but never once doubted that Franco was his spawn. Julia then tells him how errors come to light and how they can't recover the love they had, err, the love THEY STILL HAVE.

Consuelo confronts Nina and tells her that she knows about what shady thing they (Nina and Erick) did to get custody of Erick Jr. Erick shows up, and with a smile across his face, lets Consuelo know that she's longer allowed to see her son. A single tear streaks down Consuelo's face. Die Erick Die.

Eladio can see that Julia will NEVER forgive him for the whole thing with Caridad and Franco. Julia says there are like a hundred more reasons. And one of those reasons.. is that he gave her dad the watch that she bought him with her first paycheck. If he would have cared how much it meant to her, then he wouldn't have given it away. Eladio explains that he gave it to Hummy on a impulse. Every time he saw the watch it reminded him of her and hurt him. Besides, he hasn't said anything about the things she's done. For example, telling Arturo the details about their divorce. Why did she do it? So Arturo could come and rub it in his face? Julia is surprised to find out that Arturo did that.

More of Erick relishing in not letting Consuelo see her child. He kicks her out. Nina is still backing Erick up. Die Erick Die.

Julia doesn't believe that Arturo would do such a thing. In fact, Julia thinks Eladio is making that up to make her feel bad. Eladio suggests they call up Arturo so she can confirm that he's telling her the truth. Julia says that she won't talk to Arturo about that at the moment. She'll give him a ring later so he can give his side of the story. She can't believe that Eladio would care about Arturo's opinion. Well, he does care, and very much. It's one of the things that he just can't get over. Oh, if only Julia knew. Does she know how Arturo referred to him when he found out that he was in love with her?? Well, Arturo would say "there goes that poor boy, the one in love with Julia Vallado, the one who has nada". It was only when Eladio started to make a fortune that he got his name back. Julia tells Eladio that he should feel proud of all he has gotten. Eladio tells her that she was his motivation in getting everything he has now. His words touch her again, and she cries, and embraces him. She doesn't want to hear anymore, this affects her too much, she says that he did everything for her. He says that he did. She leaves.

Are tight jeans appropriate for the workplace? Well, Regina seems to think so, because that's what she is wearing when she walks into her dad's office. Arturo tells her that he has set the trap for Angeles. Now Regina has to do her part. She must talk about his plans to form a new BA in front of her.

And Regina does exactly that. Jorge is in on the plan as well. Regina talks to him about his dad's "plans" to start his own BA. Angeles overhears, and once Regina and Jorge have left the building, she calls up Franco with the news.

Clara and Justino get their minutes of screen time. It must be in their contract, I guess. Honestly, I feel bad for them. These two are pointless in the story. Justino will fix up Caridad's place. He wants to make extra cash to save up so he can give Clara a nice wedding, buy her a nice wedding dress, and take her on a nice honeymoon.

OMG. Franco is whining again about last names and how they are sooo important. Poor Gaby is forced to listen to this. Next.

Regina and Jorge meet Miguel at Dominos. Regina seems to think that Jorge is a good actor and she thinks the pizza looks yummy. She's wrong on both counts and obviously has bad taste. Especially when it comes to that pizza. I love pizza, but I wouldn't eat that crap on plate. Rant over. Regina tells Miguel that Erick and Nina were pissed that she double dated with him and Consuelo. Miguel then shows Regina what he plans on posting on FB against the judge.

Gaby doesn't think last names are so important and it worries her that he's sooo obsessed with that. He says that she says that because she doesn't have a dad who refuses to acknowledge him. She says he's right. She doesn't have a dad or a mother and she laments that she didn't spend more time with them instead of spending most of her time with her aunt and uncle. He then says that she has to accept that she preferred living with her aunt because of the luxuries she had. Gaby says that her aunt and uncle gave her the chance to live with them so she could have a career and that she never cared about the luxuries. It hurts her that he can't understand that his last names don't make a person.

Regina thinks the campaign against the judge could be counterproductive. Miguel doesn't think so. He'll post it on FB tomorrow.

Julia tells Hummy that she and Eladio will be divorced in a few days. Hummy is glad to hear that because he's getting closer to going to Las Vegas. Julia says how she confronted Eladio over him giving Hummy the watch. Hummy tells her that she should just forget Eladio. Julia leaves. Hummy whips out his phone and calls his BFF Arturo to tell him that Julia will be divorced soon.

Daniela meets with her BFF Lulis (sp?). Lulis asks Daniela to please help her get a job over at GM. Even if it's as Erick's VIP assistant. Yuck. Lulis actually has the hots for Erick. Gross. Anyway, Daniela says she's meeting someone there, so, umm, it's time for Lulis to multiple by zero and disappear.

Arturo scolds Erick for not doing anything to fix the Rivera Maya problem. Consuelo enters the office and says that Erick isn't allowing her to see her child. Arturo gets pissed at Erick. Erick says that he doesn't agree with her dating Miguel. Especially in public. She reminds him that she can do what she wants because they are divorced. He tells her that she can't do what she wants if she wants to see her child. Die Erick Die. Consuelo calls him a jerk. Erick calls her a whore. Die Erick Die. Consuelo slaps him. Arturo sides with Consuelo and tells her that he'll help her so she can see her child. Erick gets pissed that his dad helps everyone but him. Oh boo-hoo. Erick says that he quits GM and will go somewhere far away with Erick Jr. Die Erick Die. Consuelo tells Erick that he's worse than she thought. She begs him not to take her child far away.

Assmore arrives to meet Daniela. Assmore is sick and tired of Daniela playing with him. Assmore didn't like how Daniela snubbed him at her house. Daniela orders him some coffee and cookies. Daniela tells Assmore that they had to break up because her mom found out that they were dating. But they don't have to end things on bad terms. Assmore asks her what she wants. Does she want to call him every time she umm "needs it" (he says this as he sniffs his finger). So, is Assmore her drug dealer, or what?!

Arturo tells Erick that he (Erick) isn't quitting, no siree bob! He also tells the Mama's Boy to stop it with the tantrums and to grow up. He also won't let Erick take his grandson far away. Erick wants Arturo to give him his place and to quit backing up Miguel and Consuelo. Erick leaves. Arturo tells Consuelo that he understands that she loves Miguel but that sometimes as parents they have to make sacrifices. For example, he gave up the love of his life, so Miguel could have a family. Basically, Arturo wants Consuelo to have patience, and wait a while before she and Miguel are together. He promises that he will see what he can do so she can be with her child.

Eladio finds the info that Franco sent him about Arturo's plans to form a new BA.. IRREVERENT. Franco says that Eladio could accuse Arturo of stabbing him in the back. Eladio says that he will see what he does. Now, Eladio will start by playing with Arturo's stupidity.

Daniela tells Assmore that she can get drugs elsewhere. She just doesn't want him to be mad at her. She wants him to eat some cookies (LOL). She accepts that she's dating David but that doesn't mean that they have to be enemies. Assmore asks if she wants them to "play friends" and reminds her that they have already "been together". Yuck. Gross. TMI. Daniela tells him to give her a chance so things can cool down at home. She hopes that he understand that his business with his dad and all of this have nothing to do with one another. Assmore doesn't know how all this will be if she's dating the son of her dad's WORST ENEMY. And he honestly doesn't give a crap. He knows that she'll call him up when she needs whatever she inhales. He sniffs his finger again. Gross.

Eladio isn't pleased with the work the GM mole and Franco have been doing because Arturo's letter that Franco sent to him wasn't even signed by Arturo. Eladio wants the weapons to destroy Arturo. Franco is about to say something but Eladio tells him that he doesn't want to be pressured with the whole Gimme The GL last name or about Mateo. If more pressure comes, then Franco and Caridad get kicked to the curb. Eladio hopes that Franco has stopped fooling around with Marintia because Gaby could find out.

Consuelo tells Clara how she's not allowed to see her child and how it hurts her. She doesn't think that Arturo would be able to do much if Nina backs up her son. She thinks that the campaign against the judge could make things worse. She calls up Miguel and leaves him a message: don't do the campaign against the judge until we have spoken!

Franco is insensitive to the news that Gaby can't get pregnant. The doctor told her that she won't be able to have kids. Die Franco Die.

Eladio and David talk about Eladio's divorce and how Julia wants nothing from him. Eladio tells David how he told Julia that she didn't want anything from him because she already had Arturo's support. Eladio points out how Julia didn't deny that. David points out that Julia is not with Arturo because she's a golddigger. Eladio agrees. If Julia is with Arturo it's because she never stopped loving him. Eladio tells David that the divorce will be fast. David says that now he understands that Julia never approved of his relationship with Regina because it would mess up her plans to be with Arturo. Shut Up David.

Franco once again shows Caridad what a bastard he is. He tells her how Gaby can't have kids and how he thinks it's for the best. He says that Gaby is hot and he does care for her but he's only with her because he's a golddigger. Caridad sees that he's cruel but wanna bet that she'll be defending him the next time Clara points out what a bastard he is. Franco asks Caridad if she has decided who she wants to be close to. Gaby or her grandson? Caridad chooses her grandson even though it hurts her. Franco says that Caridad has to win Eladio back. Caridad thinks it's no use. But Franco wants her to do it.

Gaby tells David that she can't have kids. David is sensitive to it and consoles her unlike that bastard that she has for husband and that she loves. He tells her that there are other options and that they have to find a solution. Gaby says that she wishes that Franco would have reacted like David. She tells David how Franco didn't care about the news. David actually defends Franco by saying that maybe Franco just didn't know how to react. He tells Gaby that he will always be there for her. The cousins embrace.

Julia visits Arturo and she wants to know why he went to see Eladio and told him that he knew about their divorce. She also wants to know who the hell has been informing him about her personal life.

OMG. Gaby actually asks David to try and patch things up with Franco just minutes after the bastard she has for a husband treated her like crap when she came to him with the horrible news that she's sterile. She's a fool for not seeing him for who he is when he has shown her so many red flags. David ends up admitting that he resents Franco because his dad always preferred Franco. Gaby wants David to leave the past behind. David will try.

Arturo throws Rueda under the bus and tells Julia that Rueda is the one who has been blabbing about the Gomez Luna divorce to Agustin. Julia asks Arturo to not talk to Eladio about her anymore. Thankyouverymuch.

Consuelo tells Miguel that the campaign against the judge could be counterproductive and make things worse. Miguel doesn't think so. But Consuelo tells Miguel how Erick threatened to go far away with the baby.

Arturo apologizes for getting Julia into a pickle. It wasn't his intention. He tells her that he's glad that she's there because he's got good news. He's so close to being divorced. Julia rolls her eyes. (LOL) She tells him that she doesn't think it's the moment to be talking about this. Arturo understand. He tells her to take her time to think things through. He won't stalk her anymore because he understands that what she needs is time.

Consuelo begs Miguel not to do anything against the judge because she's afraid of what Erick and Nina could do. And it would be worse if they provoke them. Fine. Miguel says they'll wait to see what Agustin can do. And as for them.. well Consuelo thinks that Arturo is right that they should stop dating in public. Miguel doesn't like the idea. But Consuelo says that it's so they won't piss off Erick and it would only be for a short time. Miguel accepts. He'll give Agustin all the info he has collected. Consuelo says that she needs to talk to Erick so he can let her see her child.

Nina catches Julia and Arturo in the office when Arturo holds Julia's hand. Obviously, Nina thinks the worst. She says that she can't believe that Arturo can't even wait until they are legally divorced. Julia tells her that it isn't what it looks like but she's not buying it. Nina calls her a whore. Nina kicks Julia out of HER company.

Franco calls up Marintia and she's pissed because he has not come to see her or even called her. He tries to explain that if he hasn't called her or stopped by to see her it's because he can't. He tells her how things are going so well. She says that she'll say that "things are going well" the day he leaves Gaby and moves in with her and their child. Franco gets pissed and tells her to understand that he can't do that because he has to sell the shoe factory that Gaby inherited. He has to do that because it will allow them to have money for the next step of their master plan. So Marintia will have to be patient. She asks him if he will leave Gaby eventually. He says that always keeps his word. David shows up and asks him if they can talk.

Nina doesn't buy that Julia came to ask Arturo how he found out about her and Eladio's divorce. Arturo asks Nina to leave the office.

Franco gets pissed because he thinks David eavesdropped on his conversation. David says he doesn't listen to what he could care less about. David wants Franco and him to try and get along better. David is not asking him to be friends, he just wants to get along. Franco says that's what he wants. David says that what made him change his mind was Gaby and his relationship with Daniela. David leaves. Daniela shows up and Franco tells her that David wants to get along better with him. Daniela says it's all thanks her. He can add that to the secret that she is keeping to herself about him. He threatens her that she can't say a word about that or else. Daniela isn't afraid of him.

Julia leaves. Arturo tries to convince her to stay. Nina tells Arturo that he has no dignity. He tells Nina that they both can do what they want. They aren't together anymore. Nina tells him that she destroyed her life, he destroyed his relationship with his kids, and forced Regina to be unhappy without David, and all for a woman who treats him like that. Not cool, she tells him. She leaves.

We are in Ultimas Semanas everyone!!

Oh Mauricio...I feel your pain. I could tell that you were totally, one hundred per cent exasperated with all these bumbling folks last night. Montenegro kids acting like 5-year-old, gross gross Ashmore spouting TMI and my favorite:

Erick gets pissed that his dad helps everyone but him. Oh boo-hoo.

That plus the heartfelt refrain Die Erick Die! has started my Saturday off with a bang. The one thing about Ultimas Semanas is the characters become so loathsome, we're as ready for the story to be over as (I'm sure) the actors and producers are. Mercy! GET THESE PEOPLE OFF MY SCREEN!!!!!

But enjoyed the recap immensely. Now what kind of pizza do you like? Mauricio...Clearly it wasn't the mess that Regina and Jorge were eating.

Gracias, Mauricio.

For a second I thought that Nina was getting fed up with the way her kids fight but I was wrong. She still has serious blinders about Ape Child who is getting more loathsome with every episode.

Again I know nothing of Mexican law about this, but if this were happening here Consuelo should not speak directly to her ex from hell or his Mommy Direst and sic Augustin on them. Grabbing custody of Erick Jr (I hope Consuelo will change his name in the finale) was only the first step to sending Consuelo to hell, as Nina told her spawn to do. They're divorced, she is free to date whomever she wants, y punto. Augustin could -- if necessary -- use whatever Miguel found out to make the judge reverse his decision along with a threat that he will be keeping his eye on him.

Eladio's non-reaction to Franco's unsatisfactory disclosure about Arturo will obviously delay Angeles' downfall unless there is another reason for a confrontation. I'm actually surprised that there haven't been more of those in view of what I expected every fan of both actors wanted, which was more scenes of them together. Let's face it, what else was the point of Televisa casting their two most important male stars in the same series?

The purple lipstick is back. Enough said about that.

So Assmore is Daniela's drug dealer. He will be more trouble for both her and Arturo (who still has to find out the truth about them). At least we didn't have to see Assmore boinking Daniela.

Gabriela getting this kind of bad news may be just what she needs to see Franco's true colors, which might happen during another argument. Maybe David will persuade her to get a second opinion which will show that the test results were wrong, but if that is where this is going (with the potential of 30 more episodes) I hope she sees who Franco is long before that and hits him with a nasty divorce.

Franco has become just as loathsome as Erick with his latest moves. He doesn't give a crap about Gabriela no matter what he says; he's stealing her inheritance. She could end up with less than nothing if she doesn't find out before he sells the factory. If she does find out and finds out about Mateo I'm sure Augustin would love to take her case. He'll take Franco to the cleaners over this.

Finally, I don't want to see Erick dead. I want him in prison for life for the kidnapping. Daniela's friend is an idiot for wanting to work with him because he is an Ignoranus (both stupid and an a******).

A happy Saturday a.m. Mauricio. Thanks for starting mine with a giggle! Great recap.

So, I actually watched this drivel two days in a row. What's wrong with me???? What I don't get about the stupidity the writers are throwing out there is how can Erick just arbitrarily decide that Connie can't see her child. Did I miss that her visitations are at the sole whim of that idiot? If she was granted specific rights, like supervised visits each morning, then all she has to do is walk straight to Augustin and file a motion...which would could also request a new judge. The old judge might get nervous if they do show Erick is playing fast and loose with the agreement.

I'll tell you, I know the Nina's of this world. The son is everything and daughters are just..whatever. But how Nina and Erick increasingly interact through his antics is becoming increasingly uncomfortable. I got such an ICK factor as she comforted her darling imbecile after he threw Connie out.

I know people root for Eladio and Julia, but I have such a hard time, and thanks for pointing it out too Mauricio, how Eladio treated his "love" and child for 20 YEARS. I could get behind being repentant, but they are painting this as if "ah, I really didn't mean it. And I did it for you." Horse hockey. He still wants to destroy Aturo and is acting like a petulant child. She's still weeping and fence riding who she wants and Artie is an ineffectual jerk. Always promising to do things for people...yeah, make that " I'll go talk to Augustin and see what he can do."

I remember fondly how Isabella Camil played the character of Paloma in Teresa who gratefully got hit by a car/truck.bus to get off our screen. As the child's story goes "Where's That Bus???"

Get a clue Gaby is unbelievable. Love is blind is right. And don't get me started on Assmore and Dani...I guess we had to see that to confirm she's still a skank-ho. Thanks, like we didn't know.

Daisynjay

Daisynjay, the issue with Nina is that her narcissism will make her favor male children over female ones because they're not competition. There is also the issue that screw-up children will be favored because they are more easily manipulated and controlled than smarter ones. I lived through this myself.

Nina's hostility toward Consuelo is about influence and about her past success. It would not be difficult to believe that she could have some subconscious envy of Daniela for succeeding at being a public beauty when she herself hadn't. She can't deal with Regina, who was bookish and ambitious in a profession that traditionally excluded women.

Part of the creep factor here is that the two actors are the same age. It makes me wonder whether they could potentially be cast as villainous lovers in a future series.

I think people who root for Eladio and Julia remember that these actors played a protagonist couple in the past. Fine, but do I need to repeat again that this scenario is totally unrealistic?

I'm remembering that Isabela Camil's role in Teresa was that of Paloma with a children's foundation, but I don't remember her relationship to the other characters. Was she a past romance of Sebastian Rulli's character?

Mauricio,

This recap is superb. Thanks. Very good job.

OK, Nina was not very likable last night. Her effort to help Erick in depriving Coni of her son is most distasteful, and the fact that she influenced the judge is unacceptable. But how wonderful was that icy glare she threw our way near the end of the episode? Yikes!

Let remind everyone that none of this would even be a problem had Arturo not bribed the eyewitness in the investigation of Montserrat's death. Erick would most likely be in jail worrying for his safety instead of plotting against Coni if not for that (with Agustín's complicity).

Does his lying to Julia about how he found out about her divorce seem appropriate to anyone? Thought not.

Carlos

Wasn't able to watch the capitulo last night, so can't comment on the action. Thanks Maurico for the recap, I feel like I was there!

Carlos, "none of this would even be a problem"......had Nina not been dealt the triple blow of two genetically challenged children and a unloving, unfaithful husband.

I was intrigued by Delilah's comment last night, her tribute to FC's incredible acting in PyP. I think the reason the patio is in such (loving, respectful) disagreement is that FINALLY we have well developed, well interpreted characters and the cast is impeccable. Due to their acting and better writing as well, we see the characters as our family, friends, school PTA members, co-workers and maybe a little ourselves. I was, for one, sick of the violent Severinos and Gambinos of the world, bring me Arturo or Eladio any time. I never pay attention to the Premios, but this time maybe I will.

"we see the characters as our family, friends, school PTA members, co-workers and maybe a little ourselves."

Speak for yourself. I wouldn't allow any of these degenerates to pet my dog.

I am speaking for myself Kirbo!

We are in Ultimas Semanas everyone!!

yea!!!!

Super recap Mauricio

Same ole, same ole night after night, this TN should have been about 3 chapters.

Thank you , Mauricio, for another excellent recap of frustrating inaction. We went to a concert last night so I missed seeing this lesson in futility first hand.

Wait. What? Eladio and Julia have the same lawyer? Err can just make up his own custody arrangements..because...why?..because he is the smartest person evah and can make his own rules and always get his way ? This is what happens when mommy tells you that over and over again as you are flunking all your tests and everyone who comes in contact with you is shaking his\her head and hating you except when you are buying. I taught in an upper middle class suburban senior high and saw some Ericks there. They were not appreciated, and when they did get in trouble, folks were not inclined to help them. Parents are doing kids no favor by rsaisdibg them to feel that they care better than everyone else and that the rules do not apply to them.

I am getting really tired of the weak-willed people, young and old who are now populating novelas. How about featuring some characters with integrity , morals, and purpose that audiences can look up to. I need some heroes. The three leads are their own worst enemies and just so wishywashy. #justmakeitstop

Hmmm...If Eladio's tattoo has been talking to him and telling him that he and Julia will be together in the great beyond, maybe they are both headed there. Yikes

UA, yep, remember Paloma was the old flame of Rulli's and was trying to slime her way back into his graces. She did head a foundation, but was not a likable character. I will never get that image out of my mind watching her wave, step out to walk across the street to meet him, think he was in a café or something, and WHAP! streaking vehichle and thar she blows. Thought it was brilliant. Every time I want a character to disappear off the show, I think where did that vehicle go. I always say bus, because one of my sons' favorite books I read to them when they were young was called "Where's That Bus?". Seemed so appropo.

At this point, Caridad is a character that just annoys episode after episode. I tried to feel bad for her on the jail thing, but as many commented yesterday, maybe she's not as innocent as we believe. Lord knows her mother was a liar and manipulator...maybe the apple didn't fall far from the tree. Won't be pleasant seeing her try to throw herself at Eladio. His punishment for being a royal jerk for so many years.

Daisynjay

Sandy. No offence intended. Sort of a figure of speech.

No offense taken Kirbo. Just glad you don't have people like our Nina, Arturo, Eladio and Julia in your life, I think many here have seen similarities within their families or friends. I was speaking to them!

Mauricio, good recap, these folk are gettin on my last nerve. You're right about the lead characters, they are a train reck
That just keeps on happening. And its spilled over into the next generation. What a lovely Legacy little Eric and Mateo have to look forward to. Im glad its almost over, cause they are going to get super stupid in the following weeks. Erick is a horrible daddy. Stupid forgot to take his son to the doctor, granny had to do it alone. His excuse "duh... I forgot". Really?
That poor child. Uncle miguel wouldn't have forgotten. The kid almost died in ericks care, and he forgot. Happy first fathers Day erick jr. If you live that long.

I really hope juls goes back to eladio. I just don't like her with arturo. O whats the difference anyway, all 3 of these silly people are shot to hell. I just want the end to come, see how everybody ends up. Especially Franco and his silly mother.

DOes anyone remember the phrase "getting hit by the piecart?" A villain (Sergio Sendel) was suddenly taken out by a car that the patio pee ps coined "the piecart." I cannot remember the name of the show. It was a couple years ago.

I don't think that Arturo would have paid off the witness if Erick hadn't gotten into that accident (that wasn't) and ended up in a coma. Had he regained consciousness at the hospital within a day or two I'm sure he would have leaned on him and told him to face the police.

That having been said, as horrible a person as Erick is he's still not my prime suspect. He had no motive and had just insulted the hell out of Consuelo for that golfa Ratt. Eladio is my prime suspect whether he did it himself or had Callao do it.

Thanks, Mauricio. All your commentary is spot-on.

Gaby has said herself more than once that Franco does nothing to support her while she's always sticking up for him. Would be great to see her walk out on him even before she finds out about Mateo. Gaby lived with Eladio and Julia so she could have a career. Where's the career? Mujer, get yourself to your dad's shoe business and find out it's up for sale.

So Miguel is going to straighten out the judge with Facebook. Really? Miguel, come on and show us your backdoor supertech sleuthing skills.

Still hoping for Daniela's redemption, but Ashmore's nose sniffing is disturbing. I can see Dani going all self-destructive with Ashmore if she gets hurt by David.

Nice to see Regina helping her dad smoke out his secretary, instead of whining about David all the time.

Pretty good showing Mauricio, thank you.

"it's time for Lulis to multiple by zero and disappear"

I have never hit, slapped, punched, pinched, kneed, titty twisted, kicked, stabbed or shot a living thing my whole life, well except my older brother growing up, but otherwise nooooobody. That damn Erick, if he smiles one more time somebody better hold back all 5 ft, 100lbs of this screaming meanie cause I'm gonna chew his head off.

I believe Erick's version... or else it was Miguel like I've said before. He's a sneak.

Carlos

Carlos: It could not have been Miguel. Those two little spherical things down there have to be large enough to be seen with the naked eye. Miggy is thus not a suspect.

:-)

Muchas Gracias Mauricio!

1.) Erick is on a long winning streak! I'm glad he's banned dumb Connie from seeing Jr.,

2.) Kirby: Callao may have very well killed the Ratt on Eladio's orders. It's like the JFK Dealey Plaza incident!

3.) Regina working with Arturo to expose Angeles: ABOUT TIME!

4.) Daniela likely going to have drug overdose!

5.) Miguel's technical skills need to be more aggressive!

6.) Ashmore as the drug dealer: This is likely going to end in disaster!

Great Mauricio simply great. Your pizza rant made my day today.

Susanlynn---you asked, Erick can make up his own custody arrangements--why? Didn't Erick get full custody? That's what I thought.

So they're divorced. I actually thought that maybe one--who? wouldn't sign. Will Julia come back to Eladio before the show is over? It's hard to figure this guy out.
He loves Julia so much that he is willing to give her the house and pretty much anything else that she wants--ok fine but he is still holding secrets or that one big secret about Marintia's and Franco's baby. He can't win on that one. Either way he's toast. Will this one last lie/secret keep them apart or will it actually be the lie as Julia stated that he is the father of Caridad's son Franco that will be the boulder in Julia's pathway that she can't get over.

Monday the fists fly, I can't wait. Which one of these two took boxing lessons?

My 2 cents. If Eladio confesses to Julia about his grandbaby, he's got a shot at winning her back. She'd be ticked, but the act of letting her in on his foibles and not treating her like a porcelain doll would bring them together. If she finds out about the grandbaby on her own, Eladio is toast because she'd see the guy that lied to her about Franco all those years is still playing her for a chump.

Either way, Julia will not wind up with Arturo. She simply doesn't love Art anymore, and has grown to no longer be terrified of being alone.

We saw Erick with Ratt when she she went over the balcony + he confessed to Nina.
It was an accident.

Honestly, I think Neither of these uptight men will win Julia. Or should. I looks at those graphics and I think...yeah blow each other up and let everyone else move on. Julia can stop crying after awhile, realize this "love" of theirs was more winning the beautiful prize they both have wanted for 20 odd years. OR Julia will be the one destroyed through their games and no one wins.

Arturo doesn't know Julia...he knows the woman from long ago he fell in love with and frankly, idiot that he was, went off and partied with someone else and got her pregnant. Gee, if you're THAT much in love, how do you do that? And for Eladio, maybe deep deep down he's recognized what love is...too little too late. His love was to be abusive for 20 plus years? And he still doesn't think enough of her to just tell her what the hell is going on with Franco, baby, etc.

And Julia...lord love her she's beautiful and loves her son and is less a narcissist than Nina (stay say she's spoiled and too used to those finer things in life)...but is she worth all this heartache? You can say she is THAT worth losing the relationships of your children and grandchildren over? Whatever....

Ever wonder how these people would be so much happier and at ease with their lives if the women parked the spanx and the men threw on a golf shirt and chinos on casual Friday once in awhile? On her .worst day, Julia still takes the time to look smashing. C'mon. And it's like Eladio and Artie don't know how to be "just a guy" in their personal lives either.

This did not play as it did in episode 42 when the Ratt died. I'm not buying his confession to Nina.

There were no scenes between Erick and Eladio since then, but I think he saw the murder and was blackmailed or frightened into silence. He had no motive to kill the slut because he was never smart enough to figure out that she was in all of it for the money. He was also stupid enough to retrieve the necklace when that was the very thing that implicated him.

As to the issue of Franco's baby, there is much more to it. Franco has become Eladio Jr and that is what Julia will balk at. He is setting up Gabriela for the same world of hurt and that will push Julia farther away.

daisynjay...hey, I've been saying it for years...everyone is nicer in capris and flip-flops. You can't take yourself so seriously when you take off those spanx . As for the hombres,yes... loosen those nooses (aka ties) and put on a pair of jeans and a tee.

P.S. Don't thses guys have any other interests except their obsession with running the world of business and owning Julia? How about shooting some baskets, playing a little golf, or taking a walk.Geez, these people need to get some hobbies.

Gringo..I guess that iscright...the judge did give Err custody and hevdecided Connue could see her baby. I guess that I forgot that. This issue custody is a very touchy subject in our family.

Thanks for your wonderful recap Mauricio. You (and the other recappers) are really taking one for the team because these people are just pains in the neck; Judy stated it all so well it made me laugh. The sad part is that Clara and Justino are so unwritten because they are the only decent people in this tn.

tofie, I want to see you beat down Erick though like you I'm not a violent person. Clearly the actor is doing a good job because we want to do more than wipe that smirk off his face.

That's it Suanlynn...these corporate nut jobs need to go learn to play golf. Get some air, some Vitamin D, smooze with the guys and everyone would probably be a lot happier. The fact they both seem to be workaholics I guess feeds into how obsessive they are.

Daisynjay

Thank you, Mauricio, for your thorough and entertaining recap. You brought out some details that totally went by me as I was watching, even though I often pause, pause, pause my recording in a conversation I'm having trouble with in order to understand the Spanish. (I use the subtitles as an aide.) For example, I totally missed the part where Eladio suggested that Julia call Arturo right then and there to see if he (Arturo) hadn't, indeed, come into Eladio's office to claim first prize in their pissing match over Julia. Too bad she didn't take him up on it. Would have been interesting.

Another example of your teaching abilities is when you wrote, He [Arturo] also tells the Mama's Boy to stop it with the tantrums and to grow up. I got most of that, except the "madura" ending to the sentence. I look it up and it means "grown up." Huh? But you cleared it up in the recap by pointing out it was the imperative for "madurar" (to mature). So thank you for helping me with my Spanish education.

Yes, it's small stuff, but for some of us, you recappers continue to instruct as well as inform.

To Daisynjayand Susan Lynn and any others who have been bemoaning the fact that these characters seem to have no hobbies, interests, etc.: I've been on that train for quite a while. So many characters in TNs seem to do absolutely nothing all day long. They don't watch any television, they don't read (except a newspaper every once in a long while, and how many people do that anymore?), they seem to have almost no friends for people who would certainly have many acquaintances and opportunities to meet new people... Take Humberto, for a shiny specimen of such behavior. Yes, I can see he's homebound, but he can't be gambling all day long, can he? I guess he sits around for hours just waiting for his "Lights, camera, roll in" moments. Yes, I believe I saw him with a book in his lap once or twice. Probably a picture book. But c'mon, where's his nurse/caretaker to keep him company? Maybe a football match or telenovela he likes to watch. Many people do watch those, you know.

Here's a picky aside: Not too long ago there was a big scene in which Humberto got to keep a beautiful watch that was a gift to someone. (I can't remember the details, but it was in a fine little gift bag.) He seemed really enamored of that watch. Not enough to be wearing it and admiring it, however, when he visited Eladios's office when Eladio offered him yet another watch, the one Julia had given him. Luckily Humberto had a totally free left wrist that was available.

BTW, where is Callao?

Also, what had Miguel dug up on the judge with which to pressure him? Is that another detail I missed?

I also appreciated Mauricio's Yuck, Gross, TMI reaction to Ashmore's comments. In this episode, we see Erik next to Nina, holding her by the shoulders maybe, as he tells Consuelo that she's not going to keep seeing her baby. I was kind of repulsed because Nina and Erik looked far more like a couple than mother-son. (Yes, I know their real ages.) When they had the Puerto Vallarta(?) scenes between David and Julia early in the series, (and later in his apartment, I believe) I was similarly grossed out by the inappropriate closeness between son and mother. I don't remember touching my mother that way, holding her face with both hands inches away from mine, at least not after age five, maybe much younger.

And finally, when Erik threatened to quit the firm, why didn't Arturo applaud the move with something like, "Gracias a dios, you incompetent menso. You've already cost me millions and the only reason I haven't fired you is that you carry my blood. Now I AM FREE, FREE, FREE!"

Thanks for listening to my ramblings. Feel free to correct my errors. Looking forward to the comeuppances some of these people are going to get.

Oh, one more thing. Arturo said that Rueda had passed on the "Julia and Eladio are getting divorced" info to him (through Augustin). In Mexico do they have the same lawyer-client privilege we have here in the U.S.? Because it seems that Julia would be rather pissed to find that her lawyer was givng her private information to Augustin.

Daniel, you'd be foaming at the mouth at the usual lack of medical confidentiality in novelas. That is over the top of the top into the stratosphere.

I also agree that Arturo should have answered Erick's resignation "Don't let the door slam on the way out" because that would relieve him of so much stress at the office. Of course, he would end up getting it back threefold from Nina, so it might not matter. I would advise him to demote Erick to the janitorial staff (because I couldn't trust him in the mail room).

I wouldn't trust erick as a janitor either he'd probably bleach the toilet seats and buts would get burned, cause he didn't know how to spell bleach. Hes just a train wreck. Coni get your son back or he'll end up like dear old dad. Ever wonder what eladio and arturo do in their offices all day until some one comes in with family drama? Youre right susanlyn they need a hobby. And not juls, they both have worn that poor woman out.

Ok, lets see what the suits do this week. They really look good in those suits. Happy spring people♥♡♥♡

Daniel: Arturo was lying. (About Rueda) He got the information from HoverChair Hummy but couldn't let Julia know that her own Father was selling her out.

Thank you for the amusing recap Mauricio. I could tell how much you loved this episode..NOT! I am with you in frustration though perhaps for different reasons.

I have come to the point where I am indifferent to Erick. He's so predictable that at this point I don't really care what they do to him. Jail or death..meh. Still I don't know what brother would be ok with seeing his ex wife hook up with his brother, especially one you don't like. I speak from personal experience. It fractures families and can only work if one brother dies or the new couple moves far away. Consuelo is an idiot and Miguel is an emotionally stunted creep. The whining and tattling about big bad chimp boy to the equally annoying and oh so boring Arturo has become exhausting.

Speaking of Arturo..how does Julia convince anyone she is not seeing Arturo when he is going out if his way to perpetuate the lie? He never tries to squash the rumor if anything to protect Julia. There is no guit or remorse for the pain he has and continues to cause. He's a selfish ass and I detest him further for it. He belongs with the conniving Nina.

I have the feeling Ashmore words will ring true regarding Dani. A suicide either intentional or accidental could be in her future. She is about to suffer a loss perhaps personally and then professionaly. It will be too much for her. The loss of Erick and Dani may wake up Arturo to his misplaced priorities.

It's hard to predict Francos ending, but what a twist if the mother who went to prison supposedly protecting him..is the one who takes him out. I could see Franco going out in a blaze of glory with potential victims. Eladio? *shudders*

As implausible as it would be for Julia to forgive Eladio, this is a TN where unlike real life anylthing can happen, I remain firmly with my tortured couple Julia and Eladio. I have yet to see Julia torn up about Arturo. Why would she? He us a dull butter knife compared to the chiseled cheekbone mercurial hotness that is Hotladio.

Mauricio, very well written. I salute you for taking one for the team and doing it with grace and style.

The characters are truly unbearable at this point. I breathe a sigh when I see Clara as I know there will be a sweet smile and/or comforting word. One of the few truly good people here as Karen so astutely pointed out.

A tiny trace of humor here would have been instrumental in breaking the continuing dread. So much hurt, anger and regret and no catalyst to break any of it.

Diana

One thing to keep in mind is that novelas are principally about personal relationships; we have to take for granted that people's work is getting done because it is usually far less interesting than what goes on in their private lives. The first novela I ever saw had a previously unknown cousin trying to get possession of the heroine's inheritance which included a large corporation whose purpose and industry we weren't clued in on. What it did wasn't the point; what was was that the cousin (and his mother, who was the female villain) used forgery to try to make that happen. Because that series was produced prior to DNA testing the actor who played the cousin also portrayed his sperm donor in the black and white flashbacks.

Caridad taking Franco out? The only thing that would make me believe it would be if he were a threat to Mateo's life and the writers of this series have already committed too big a sin against credibility.

As far as Erick's distaste for Consuelo being with Miguel, why should he care? He already hates both of them and doesn't care enough for his own son to not risk his life during a kidnapping or to take him to a pediatric appointment when he had custody. Even Nina scolded him for the latter. Daniela is even shocked at the realization that he went after sole custody solely out of hatred for Consuelo. I also fail to see how the hatred he and Daniela have for Miguel and Regina could be any worse than it already is.

So where is the double-dealing Pedro now? Is he over a state line or in El Norte laughing his butt off at having duped two rich dupes? He will ultimately pay but not without the two Ignoranuses finding out he worked both sides of the street.

Diana, as grim as this tale is I'm grateful that there is no inappropriate comic relief in it. Some producers in the past have insisted on comic relief in every episode which is not a good thing. Past writers at this network used to be so good at gallows humor, which would be the only appropriate kind for this.

Urban: I just don't see Connie having a happy ending because if Erick gets his way, she'll be dead!

Miguel better watch his back if he keeps digging up dirt on the judge!

Franco getting whacked by his own mother ? I just don't see it happening!

Any ideas of how Purple Lips gets her downfall ?

I could see Cari possibly if it meant saving an innocent or perhaps accidentally. The better situation would be if she steps in front of a bullet he has planned toward someone else. A very interesting twist indeed if Cari died saving Julia's son from hers (Franco).

Kirbo:
Yes, I know Arturo was lying, but when I heard him blame Rueda, I thought, Well, maybe Julia will get pissed off at her lawyer for having such a big mouth and will call him to put the kabosh on behavior like that. Then she'd find out Arturo was lying. And since there's never just one cockroach, she might look into his other less-than-truthful words/deeds. No luck, of course.

Wasn't it Edmund Burke who said, "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to see nothing"? Well, actually it was "do" nothing, but still maybe he was watching some Irish telenovela around 1780 or so.

Daniel

I think arturo was covering his own but when he told juls ruede or whatever his name is told him, about the devorce.he wants to continue to make eladio look bad in her eyes.

Daniel...Yes, that was Edmund Burke. Now, we just have find some good men in this novela. Auggie?

Steve I don't think Eladio would be as forgiving as stupid shit Arturo with a son sabotaging the company. If Eladio ever finds out what his spawn is up to he might whack Franco himself. Franco and Erik are both cases of "the baby died and the afterbirth lived."

"The baby died and the afterbirth lived", wow kirbo thats a new one. Never heard that one before, thats one for the ages. I gotta remember that. And It does fit those two misfits.

Mauricio,
Sorry I am SUPER late to the party. I just finished the recap and starting on comments. I am way behind but wanted to thank you for the superb recap.

Hasta Pronto

I'm fashionably late to the party but I had to stop by and thank you for this stellar recap, Mauricio! Many thanks to the PyP recapping team for churning out such excellent oeuvres of prose and snark, week after week.

Mexico is only 16 episodes away from the finale. This is the slogan they use at the end of their avances and promocionales videos: "¿Gómez Luna o Montenegro, de qué lado estas? El final se acerca." ("Gómez Luna or Montenegro, on which side are you? The end is approaching.") #YoSoyGómezLuna #IAmGómezLuna. How about you, guys?

Part of me will be sad to see this TN go but, for the most part, I think I will be relieved. This crazy ratchet drama messed up with my emotions big time. The producer's and the writer's work leaves much to be desired but the main foursome, especially Colunga, were fantastic in this train wreck! I've been coaxed by my friends to follow the Mexico broadcast now that our WhatsApp chitchats upgraded to a weekly Skype session. Bashing these characters in Spanish is a lot more fun; besides, my friends got me hooked on checking the comments on Twitter and Facebook and they are out-of-this-world funny! The frustration of the viewers is palpable and hilarious! There is also that sense of guilty pleasure, of feeling silly for getting so emotionally involved with such flawed and reprehensible characters. This show is generating great buzz compared to other TNs. There are several hundreds of tweets and FB comments during and after every episode. #Eladio has been a trending topic in Mexico on Twitter several times. I would really invite you to check out the show's Facebook page (AFTER the finale airs in the US, por supuesto) to revisit the marking moments of this TN and read some of the funniest commentary.

I'll pop in every once in a while to say howdy but I won't comment too much on the action. Nos vemos :)

Nandicta good of you to share the social media chat surrounding this tn. I can imagine the comments must be hilarious. I think were it not for FC and his stellar work I might have bailed by now, The writing has been all over and I feel some plots dropped while others beaten to death. FC has chemistry with all of his costars and elevates them to a new level.

To answer.,,#IAmGomezLuna #Eladio. All day every day!
