Well, since novelera isn't able to do a recap tonight, I'll try to put up something, but it will be quick and messy, and not really a recap, just a list of some of the events that happened. I have to have it up before I go to bed tonight, because I won't have time tomorrow morning. But I figure something is better than nothing. Maybe.

FATMAGUL: Turkish Episode #64/U.S. #67, Thursday, 3/10/16
Part 1: While Mustafa kidnaps Fatmagul, Kerim cluelessly goes on with his session with the therapist. She asks about his relationship with the Yasaran and Namli boys. He explains how he has known them since primary school, spent summers with them when their families came to Ildir, that even as a boy he knew they were using him, but it made him feel important to be their friends and he kept quiet. That night of the engagement party, was like reliving their childhood.

She asks about the first time he saw Fatma. He mentions seeing her first with the sheep, then on the stairs. “It was all my fault. I was so proud to be with them that night. I did whatever I could to be at their level—drinking and taking drugs. I can’t remember it all well. It was like a dream. And out of nowhere appeared Fatma. I caught her. I brought her to the others. That’s why my conscience will never leave me in peace. I feel so guilty, that I’ll never stop feeling this way. Always this guilt, even when Fatma tells me she loves me. I want her to love me. I’m in love with her. But I simply can’t forgive myself.”

“There’s a voice in my head that constantly blames me, and I don’t know what to do to quiet it. Despite all my efforts, I don’t know what will happen in the future. Yes, I love Fatmagul, and I’m sure she loves me. But when I think of the future, I see so many uncertainties in our lives. Our wounds are fresh. I’m scared of not being able to overcome them.”

The therapist tells him he needs to speak to Fatmagul about this, about his feelings, and about that night, if he wants the relationship to advance. “If you don’t talk about it, you’ll never get it off your chest. It’s time for you to let go of this burden. It’s the only way for the two of you to have a true relationship…Your relationship started in a different way than most others. It’s developed in a different way, and you both have your own problems. But you need to resolve them together.”

“I will, but I’m scared of speaking of the past, and bringing up things that she wants to forget. We’ve been making small steps at a time, and we’ve gotten far. I’m really scared that we’ll return to the beginning, and I’m not strong enough to relive all the bad again.”

Kerim’s session ends, and the therapist goes out to get Fatmagul. The secretary tells them about the blue-eyed man Fatma willingly left with. Kerim begins to freak, and points to the picture of Mustafa in the paper. She confirms it’s the same man. The therapist tells her to call the police. Kerim checks his phone, and hears this message Mustafa left, before tossing Yasar’s cell phone from the car window, as unconscious Fatma lay in the backseat. “Death would have just been an escape for you. But now you’ll experience the worst punishment you could imagine. Fatmagul has returned to me. From now on she’ll be with me, where she belongs, at my side…You’ll never separate us again, and where I go, she goes. If we’re going to die, we’ll die together.”

FATMAGUL, Part 2:
The Yasaran are all freaking out about Mustafa’s escape from the basement, with a company cell phone and a company car that will be traced back to them. Perihan is disgusted by the whole thing. “With each step we sink lower into the garbage!” Yasar is worried that he’ll be in trouble with the police, since the gun Mustafa took is registered to him.

Kerim and the rest of the family (minus Mukaddes and the kids), along with the therapist and her assistant, speak to the police. They review the security tapes from the garage and see the struggle, the slap, and the chloroforming. Both Kerim and Rahmi lose it. The police are able to get the license plate, save for one number. The cops get busy tracking down all cars with potentially matching plates, and eventually trace one to the Yasaran. Omer gets to work getting permission to track Fatma’s cell phone signal. Kerim goes to see Hacer, to pressure her to confess if she knows about any secret hiding places Mustafa has. She knows of none, but she’s generally unconcerned. “He loves her like crazy. Don’t worry. He won’t hurt her.” Kerim is not convinced.

The cops, along with Kerim and Kadir, head to Yasaran Holdings to question them about the car. The Yasaran, Munir, and Meltem and Ender are shocked when the police tell them, “Mustafa Nalcali kidnapped Fatmagul Ilgaz in that vehicle.” Ender helpfully points out to the police that it’s likely connected to the rape case, and that the Yasaran boys should be questioned. They are taken to the police. Meanwhile, Kerim and the police search the shipping trucks, but find nothing. Selim and Erdogan go to the police station with Munir, and both get their butts handed to them by Kerim, who’s convinced they had something to do with it. The police even bring Perihan and Hilmiye in, since there were reports of the car leaving their house late at night. Lale, the neighbor, willingly goes to give a statement about her dog barking at someone leaving the Yasaran patio that night and then driving off quickly. Resat tries not to look ill.

The police pick up Fatma’s cell phone signal near the town of Rima—her phone fell to the floor of the car, unseen by Mustafa. Team Fatmagul heads there with the police.

Meanwhile, in an abandoned building near Rima, the same building the Yasaran pulled the fake interrogation trick on Mustafa, Mustafa has a groggy Fatma tied to a chair. He admits he had been planning to kidnap her for a while, but Hacer’s betrayal pushed up his schedule. There are endless self-pitying speeches from him, that poor Fatma has to listen to over the course of the torturous day. He pays her no mind as she tells him she doesn’t love him and hopes he gets caught. Here are a few snippets of his whining:
“Nothing can separate us. Not even death. I don’t want to hurt you. Don’t make me. Stop looking at me like that. I’m not your enemy. You were going to be my mujer. My wife. If only I had finished the house sooner, we could have married sooner, and you wouldn’t have been working that night. If only he (Kerim) hadn’t separated you from me. You hurt me deeply. You married one of them. You have no idea how much I suffered. You turned me in! This is how you got revenge on me for turning my back on you. Do you really love him? Tell me you’re with him just to get back at me! Tell me that you love me! Why don’t you believe me! I’m not a bad person! This all happened because of your fault! Because of you, I had to abandon my life and leave. Because of you, I’ll never have a normal life! He’s just trying to clear his name, and you’re letting him off the hook. But you condemned me!...blah, blah, blah.”

FATMAGUL, Part 3:
Mustafa speaks about the night of the rape (from his self-centered point of view).
M: That night, I saw you speaking to a man. Later I learned it was Kerim. I was so jealous, just seeing you speak to another man. I went crazy. You remember how angry I was that night? So angry that I didn’t want you to come see me off that night. But you never came. Then when I realized that it was Kerim that I saw you speaking with that night, I didn’t know what to think.
F: I don’t have to explain anything to you. Think what you want. I don’t care what you think anymore.

Fatma points out how Mustafa killed someone and then just went about his life, like nothing happened. She could have become a killer too, but she’s getting justice the legal way, even as slow as it is.

“Vural was an accident. But I shot Kerim on purpose. His punishment should be worse than death. What would cause him the most pain, Fatmagul?” Mustafa starts getting really creepy, caressing her face and hair in a menacing way. He makes her drink water in the same manner the rapists tried to pour alcohol down her throat. Fatma demands that he not touch her, and tells him not to add another sin to his list. “One more sin wouldn’t make a difference… If I’m going to die, you’re coming with me.” Fatma demands that he kill her then, and get it over with. Instead, he starts ripping off her clothes, even her stockings, eventually leaving her terrified, sobbing, and tied up in the cold room with just her slip on. He takes the clothes (including some of his) and the car, drives off, and rolls the car off a cliff.

The police inform Team Famagul that the signal is moving. They get word about the car going over the cliff. Kerim’s legs buckle under him. Rahmi loses his mind. Kadir and Meryem weep, and so does Hacer (for Mustafa). The Yasaran smile. Jerks! Munir takes that moment to threaten Hacer about opening her mouth about them.

Mustafa comes back with new clothes for Fatma and takes her to a dilapidated bathroom in the building to change. Fatma closes the door and starts looking for a means of escape. She finds none, but she does find a bucket that she used to smack Mustafa and get a running start. Unfortunately, he catches her, and tackles her to the ground like an American football player. Fatma is dragged back to the room and tied up again.

M: Don’t be scared of me. Love me. Have I harmed you more than that man? Am I worse than Kerim? And to top it off, you married him. You sleep in his bed. How could you?
F: I don’t sleep in the bed of anyone! Kerim doesn’t touch me, and he won’t until I permit it.
M: Because you’re mine! Because you still love me.
F: I don’t love you!
M: You’re MINE now!.. Are you crying for him? You know you won’t see him again. Your options are to come with me, or die here. Our lives are in your hands. I just want you to tell me that you love me. That you’re mine and no one else’s. That you’ll be my wife.

FATMAGUL, Part 4:
The police pull out the submerged car, and find Fatma’s shoes and some of her clothes in the water. But they quickly deduce that it’s all a frame-up. The car was obviously rolled in neutral. There are no other tracks, so they must be close enough to go by foot. Team Fatmagul is relieved. Sami shares the news with Hacer, telling her the car was found near Rima. This triggers a memory for Hacer of when Mustafa told her how the Yasaran got his confession. The place they held him was an abandoned shoe factory near Rima. She calls Kerim and tells him. He exits the police car in the middle of nowhere, and goes on foot, alone. Fahr, Kadir and Meryem spot him from the road. Kerim gets directions to the shoe factory (and a hatchet) from a wood seller, and a ride from a trucker. As soon as he gets out of the truck, he gets a taunting call from Mustafa from a nearby public phone.

“Fatmagul is where she belongs. She’s mine. Neither you nor anyone else will be able to touch her from now on… I know you’ve never touched her, and that she doesn’t love you. She gave herself to me, as she always wanted to do.”

They both hear sirens, and realize they are in close proximity. Kerim runs into the building. Mustafa runs towards it. Kerim calls for Fatma and she calls out to him until he finds her. He hugs her and tells her everything will be alright. He unties her, grabs the hatchet, and they make a run for it, hand-in-hand. They get to the ground floor, just as Mustafa enters. He starts shooting at them, and they separate to opposite sides of the floor to hide behind pillars. Mustafa demands that Fatma come with him, or he’ll kill Kerim. Kerim ends up throwing the hatchet at Mustafa and knocking the gun out of his hand. Brutal hand to hand combat ensues. Mustafa gets the upper hand. Kerim is pinned to the ground and Mustafa has the hatchet. He raises it to strike the death blow. Fatma grabs the gun from the ground and points it at Mustafa. Kerim begs her NOT to do it. Mustafa doesn’t think she CAN do it. Fatma continues to point the gun. “Let it go, or I’ll shoot!” A shot suddenly rings out. Mustafa’s eyes go wide, and he drops the hatchet.

-End of episode.

EVA LA TRAILERA - JUEVES - Parte 1 de 2

During Armando's visit with Eva at the prison, he assures Eva that Marlene would not hurt their daughters. In spite of his relationship with Marlene, he's clearly still interested in Eva, but he's afraid that Eva now hates him. Eva tells him she doesn't hate him, she feels sorry for him. She also tells him there's no way that things can ever go back to being what they were. They're through.

Evencio is now sleeping on the street. Someone he knows brings him some food. Armando passes by in his car and Evencio calls to him, but Armando drives on.

Marisol tells Betty that Pablo knows everything, and that he recorded the conversation that she and Betty had last night. She also tells Betty that Pablo will bring the recording to the judge and try to have the verdict nullified.

Marlene comes into Pablo's office and tells him they're about to have the best deal in the world, and that it was her brother who arranged it. Armando says that her brother had better stay away from Adriana; if he doesn't, Armando will kill him.

Pablo comes to see the judge. He explains that he is now a lawyer, indeed, he is now Eva's lawyer, and he has proof that the fiscal had a conflict of interest and the trial was seriously flawed.

Adriana comes to see Armando at Mon-Sol. Elsa tells her the dueños are busy, but Adriana says you're obviously new, so let me tell you that there are two dueños, Armando Montes, who is my father, and Eva Soler, my mother. No one else. She then brushes past Elsa and enters Armando's office. She waves the packet of drugs that was left on her dinner tray and tells Armando that this is like the ones that Andy kept giving her, he wanted to turn her into a drug addict. She says "I don't need this" and then spills the contents of the packet onto Marlene.

Pablo is in the judge's office. He's about to play the recording when Betty bursts in. She tells the judge not to listen to the recording, it was obtained illegally and cannot be accepted as evidence. The judge tells her to leave. Pablo then plays the recording, but the judge tells him there's nothing concrete. Moreover, it was obtained illegally. He throws the recording into the wastepaper basket. Pablo insists that there's more proof. When you have more proof, the judge tells him, you can come see me.

Robert and some of his business associates are meeting, and Robert is proposing a toast to their recently-funded business venture, even though the "benefactor" who funded the venture isn't able to be present. Suddenly the door opens and in walks Pancho's lawyer, who informs Robert and the others that they are being sued by Francisco Mogollón.

Marlene tries to make it seem as if Adriana can't accept her drug addiction and also that she's clearly upset that Marlene and Armando are now together and she wants to separate them. Armando is fed up and leaves. Marlene picks up the photo on his desk of Eva, Adriana, and Fabiola and tears it to shreds, saying "El trio de muertas siempre."

Robert is furious at the turn of events. He swears that he will ruin Pancho. He keeps trying to contact Bobby, but Bobby isn't answering his phone. In fact, Bobby is sitting at an outdoor cafe thinking about Adriana and remembering his rejecting her when she tells him she's married and remembering too his conversation with Pancho. Suddenly he sees Adriana. He calls to her and asks if they can sit and talk. He tells her that it was his fault that she went off with Andy, but that he has changed. She tells Bobby it wasn't his fault, it was hers. He tells her he's been thinking about how much he cares for her, and that he's not the idiot he was before.

At the Mogollóns', Soraya is very nervous. She has a presentiment that things won't go well. Perhaps Bobby will feel attacked.

EVA LA TRAILERA - JUEVES - Parte 2 de 2

At the prison, Eva is told that her lawyer has come to see her in the visitor's room. She's puzzled. Why would her lawyer come to see her? She goes to the visitor's room and sees Pablo. He tells her he didn't lie, he's now her new lawyer and he's going to get her out of there. And then.... She stops him and lets him know that it's one thing to be her lawyer, but there's nothing more than that between them. Nada.

Martin and JJ have gone to San Diego to try to get more evidence to help Federica. They talk to someone who is apparently in charge of guarding the privacy of the hotel's clients. With a bit of prompting from JJ, Martin offers the man some money in recognition of his professionalism and to compensate him for his time. They get video recordings showing Federica's nuera with someone else (the chauffeur?) at the hotel on certain dates, and Martin and JJ are very pleased.

Robert is furious at his not being able to contact Bobby. He fears that Bobby is more loyal to Pancho. Cinthia assures him that Bobby doesn't know who Pancho and Soraya really are, and when he knows, he'll want nothing to do with them.

Marlene tells Andy she hates Eva and would love to get rid of her. Andy offers to take care of matters. He'll make some calls.

Betty tells the judge that it's ridiculous that he's thinking of opening a closed case. He thinks she's overstepping her bounds. I'm the fiscal, she tells him. I'm the judge, he replies. He tells her to leave his office.

The judge has Marisol come to his office. She admits that even before Sofia was killed, Betty wanted to know who Eva Soler was. She had personal reasons for wanting this information. The judge asks what Marisol's relationship to Betty is. Marisol works with Betty but they've known each other since childhood and are very good friends. "What would you do for a good friend?" the judge asks. "I'd do whatever," she replies. "Even investigate someone before there is any reason to do so?" "Yes." Marisol confirms that Betty knew who Eva Soler was before the trial. She tells the judge that she tried to warn Betty, but she wouldn't listen. She wanted to separate Eva from Pablo.

Rebeca talks with someone on the phone and arranges some nasty business to happen to Eva. She apparently has bribed the guard so the guard will hear nothing and see nothing. [I'm not sure whether or not the person Rebeca talks to on the phone is Andy. Earlier, Rebeca has said something menacing about Eva's having to have a visit at night. That seemed quite separate from whatever Andy wants, though clearly both Andy and Rebeca hate Eva.]

Back in the prison yard, Rebeca and two of her allies send nasty looks toward Eva and her prison friends. Federica recognizes that the looks of hatred are not directed at the group but only at Eva.

Back at the little house where Adriana is now living, she and Bobby kiss. He tells her he realizes how much she means to him, and he never wants to lose her again. Fabiola enters the house. She looks very happy. She takes Adriana's hand and Bobby's hand and puts them together.

Bobby finally goes home. Although Cinthia tries to stop him, Robert tells Bobby that they are not his parents. "It hurts me to tell you this, but you are the son of a prostitute and an assassin."

As Eva is working at the prison, someone comes and apparently stabs her in the back. End of episode.

Eva

oh Juanita, so very generous of you to stay up late to put up a recap, and what a nice recap it was, and what a nice show for a change, with so many (1 or more) warm scenes, with the good guys thinking that they will win, I enjoyed his.

bravo Adriana, not doing the drugs, I'm so proud of her, and then bringing it to Mon-Sol, she may be one of those know-it-all snotty teenagers, but she has the fire of her mother, and Armando, is he wavering on the Eva conspiracy thingy that Marlene keeps weaving, oh wait, didn't he hide the photo of his three darlings when Marlene walked into the room.

hey, the judge can't throw someone's nifty voice recorder in the trash, can he?

wow, why didn't Pancho's lawyer defend Eva?

was Adriana registering at a school where she ran into Bobby who is also going to go there.

I think Eva mumbled that she had fired her lawyer.

hmm, the secret lovers in "Quien es quien" were also meeting at the Luxury Hotel, and I think JJ figured out Leila had more than one lover, but I think this was the chauffeur.

I am so glad Marisol told the truth under oath, I like her.

Fabiola was so cute!

and that smile of Pablo's when he's done good, and when he is around Eva, (say, I don't think lawyers can have conjugal visits, but at least they get a private room, right?), if he were a cat, we could hear him purrrring.

Fatmagul

Vivi, this was an action packed epi and you outdid yourself. I missed yesterday's epi live viewing, but visualized it all through your fab recap. Mesa is completely off his rocker. Who shot him, Fatma or someone else? I hope not Fatma, she has enough to deal with let's not put the death of Mesta on her conscience too. Can't wait for today's epi. This show was ideal for prime time viewing.

Quién

deb - Except for that ridiculous "where's Perico" thing after he was drugged by Ignacio (thank heavens for the FFWD--> button on our remotes) the story is quite enjoyable and does not tax too many brain cells. Really, we've got three or four love stories going: "Leo"/ "Fernanda", Yesenia/Ruben, Ines/Jonathan, and "Perico"/Paloma. And seriously, Coco can have Termi but right now, I think Termi is too good for her.

FATMAGUL:

Thanks, Brenda. MeMeMeStafa has completely lost his marbles. That whole thing was hard to watch. Especially when he stripped Fatma by force. Traumatic for any woman, much less one who experienced a gang rape not too long ago. I was hoping she had peed in that bucket before she clocked him with it. :)

Fatma: When I first this show I was happy it lasted only one episode, uff. I couldn't take more of Fatma being in that situation again. I suffered with her this episode, uff. Beren's performance was super in that scene.
When he took her clothes off and she was running all around and screaming, I couldn't breathe :( How is she every going be able to be physical with kerim, it will be a miracle, poor thing must be so traumatized. And when the police called Kadir to tell him that the car drowned and Rahmi screamed "Fatmaguuuuuuul" my heart broke into pieces.
Mustafa was delusional...thinking she "saved" herself for him. And what he said to Kerim...It was all about pride and ownership of Fatmagul...that Kerim didn't "have" her. How sick. That's it. What a creep! Musta is crazy, at least now he shouldn't be able to frame someone lese so in a way it's good he kidnapped Fatma and it's on tape! Vivi, lol, me too I wished she had pee too
Thank you Brenda. Great job

Fatma: The thank you Brenda was for complimenting our great Vivi for her wonderful work as usual.

FATMAGUL:

Thanks, Romy. You know, it amazes me that in all this time, and in all his rants, not once has Mustafa mentioned/thought about the horrific trauma Fatma went through and what it did to her emotionally. So of course when he hears Fatma and Kerim have never had sex, he doesn't think it has anything to do with rape trauma, but instead with Fatma "saving herself" for HIM and his bed. As if! Es el colmo!

Quien

doris- and I can do without Justino as well.

as mentioned elsewhere, I think the novela they are watching is "En otra piel", Laura Flores (Ines) first with Telemundo.

and I think Connie is about to meet Eugenio, Palomas brother, but I hope she kisses Leonardo DiCaprio again so he can win his fight and Sara's bet.

Eva

Juanita, you’re a trouper for writing about last night. And it WAS a recap, and a good one at that. You got a good one to write about with some glimmers of hope after lots and lots of Marlene victories.

What in the world is Armando thinking? How can he possibly have a relationship with a woman who’s going to be in prison for 25 years?

Again, I think Armando’s treatment of Evencio is going to prove crucial. But there’s another plot hole in that Armando refused to fire Evencio when Marlene wanted it. So why doesn’t he have an income to afford shelter?

A miracle occurred last night. We saw a clever judge figure out a way to circumvent the illegally obtained tape recording. He got Marisol under oath to tell him that Betty knew BEFORE the trial that Eva was the “other woman”. Maybe the telenovela writers heard us grumbling about all the miscarriages of justice we’ve seen. And Marisol admitted under oath that the case against Eva was very weak and she’d probably been acquitted or perhaps not even tried at all if it hadn’t been for Betty’s jealousy. It was so great to see Betty get a comeuppance last night!

The actor portraying Marisol did a great job last night, struggling with her loyalty to her friend and being completely unable to lie under oath to a judge.

I’m sure they’re going with Bobby turning on Pancho and Soraya. I wonder if it was significant that Robert just said he was the child of a murderer and a prostitute and not which people they were.

Well, we know protagonists don’t die so, even if Eva is stabbed, she’ll survive. Is there any chance Armando connects the dots and figures out Marlene was behind it?

Well, my prediction was obviously wrong. I was thinking Rebeca would change and start to respect Eva.

I was thrilled about Adriana’s resisting the cocaine. But, again, she is not listening to her mother’s advice. She may have chipped away at her father’s belief in Marlene with this scene. But maybe a shrewder move would have been to just flush the drugs and have Marlene wondering why she didn’t seem high.

Fatma: Vivi remember he shouted he suffered more than ANYONE else at the hospital. He is self-centered and loony. Why do you think Kerim is telling Fatma not to shoot? I want to hear your take on it.
I would be like shoot the hijo de su madre if I were Kerim with an ax about to split my head open, lol.

FATMAGUL:

LOL! Romy- Me too! I would tell her to shoot and keep shooting the bastard! His life is on the line! But Kerim knows Fatma well, and he knows she would not be able to recover for a very long time if she killed Mustafa, or anyone. But especially Mustafa.

FATMAGUL:

Did you guys also get the vibe that Mustafa was implying to Fatma that he would rape her, just to get Kerim where it really hurts? It seems to me that's what he was threatening in that moment when he was caressing her hair and face, and not the murder-suicide he kept harping about through the whole ordeal. It just grossed me out and ticked me off majorly. Seriously, every episode brings new lows for Mestafa. I think he's surpassed the Yasaran now.

Fatma: Yes, Vivi, I did get that vibe and I was afraid he would do it too :( because he is clearly unhinged. Yes, he can not further down the slime. Horrible. You saw how Fatma freaked the hell out when he was forcefully undressing her, poor thing. Kerim does know Fatma could not live with this if she shot Musta regardless of the reason. How sweet is our Kerim? Always thinking about Fatma's well being. Have you noticed how when Kerim talks about the night of the rape and Fatma asks Kerim to stop Kerim stops and Musta went on and on and on about it even as Fatma cried her eyes out?

FATMAGUL:

Romy- Of course he went on and on about it and ignored Fatma. Because it's all about ME, ME, ME!

Eva. Great recap, Juanita. Way better than quick and messy! I also think that it was wonderful that Adriana didn't take the drugs, and was that a community college she and Bobby were registering for? Marlene's chutspah is just incredible! It's pretty obvious that the judge likes Pablo. We know that the information about his true parentage is going to estrange Bobby from Soraya and Pancho, because Soraya is psychic and her predictions always come true. Enjoyed the confrontation between Robert and Pancho no end. I'm almost certain that was Andy on the phone with Rebeca.

Eva chutzpah

TELEMUNDO... rumors

Maritza Rodríguez protagonizará la telenovela "Silvana sin lana", possible remake of Chilean "Pituca Sin Lucas" (fancy lady without money).

Eva

Thanks very much, deb, novelera, and SpanProf, for your kind words about the sort-of-recap and your great comments about the episode. I lucked out. After all those episodes where things went from bad to worse, finally there were some things to cheer about. For me, the high points were Betty's lack of success with the judge and Adriana's telling Armando about the packet of drugs on her dinner tray, her relating that to the way Andy kept trying to keep her doped up, and her dumping the packet's contents on Marlene. Of course, I know better than to be too happy...not at this stage in the telenovela. Viewerville is surely being set up for a fall. But hey, let's take our pleasures when and where we find them.

Fatma

Wow...what an epi...and what a recap. Great job Vivi.

MEstafa is way-way gone. Does he listen to the crap that comes out of his mouth! How could he possibly blame Fatma for all that they have lived this past year. It's like he's in another world...and has no clue what really happened.

And we knew this already but he cares nothing for Fatma the person...just the symbol that she was...HIS possession. He's never asked her how she feels....how she's coping and if she needs anything. But yet, he can actually say he's suffered more than anyone.

She was raped and what's on his mind is that she's saving herself for him and that's why she doesn't sleep with Kerim. Hello...she was raped...the last thing on her mind is being intimate.....with anyone.

And to be so brutal to her...slapping her around and snatching off her clothes. Again, this is a woman that you profess to love...and you know she was brutalized...by 3 goons and now you chase her around the room and rip her clothes off....scaring the hell out of her and if you're about to rape her. And then you leave her clotheless in a cold isolated room.

There is no lower to go so now its time to get rid of this guy.

And today... Muka...as usual heartless and careless with her thoughts and truly cares only about herself. What does it take to get rid of her!

Nett

FATMAGUL:

Thanks, Nett! Don't you just wish that each of us, and Fatma, could get the chance to b*tch slap MEstafa the way Fahr did the other day? :)

EVA LA TRAILERA – VIERNES – Parte 1 de 2

The one who got stabbed in the vehicle repair area was Emilia, another prisoner. The would-be assassin is called Changa. [Andy sure knows how to organize a crime, doesn’t he? The one Rebeca chose to do the deed appears not to be the sharpest knife in the drawer. I’m relieved they’re not going with Eva laid up in the hospital or, qué horror – una coma!.]

Betty doesn’t do herself any favors. She comes in guns blazing telling the judge [never a good idea to rag on a judge] that what’s going on is illegal. He tells her what Marisol said under oath and outright calls her a liar. After all, she point blank told him before she did not know Eva Soler was involved with Pablo when she took the case. He reminds her that she based her case on Eva having killed her niece in a crime of passion. If she was already in love with another man, then why would she kill anyone over the guy she didn’t care for any more?

The judge ends up suspending Betty as a prosecutor. She lunges at Pablo, enraged, and then faints. [OK, show of cyber-hands, how many reading this fainted while pregnant? Me, never.]

Cinthia tries to tell Bobby she loves him and has always loved him after the brutal announcement Robert made. Robert shows Bobby the file compiled by Marlene’s shifty private investigator. [I keep trying to figure out if the actor playing Robert is wearing a rug. If not, he’s got an extremely low forehead.]

Bobby runs over to the Mogollones and has the reaction we expected. He yells at them that they abandoned him. Soraya is sobbing with grief over what happened.

What crap! Marisol blames Pablo for Betty’s having fainted in the judge’s chambers. If Betty hadn’t been an obsessive b!tch, things would have been very different. [Alternate, non-telenovela universe: There’s not enough evidence to prosecute Eva. Eva and Pablo are living together happily. Pablo assumes the responsibility for his child with Betty and has regular visitation with the child.]

In the hospital Betty asks the nurse to bring in Marisol. Here’s what she has to say: “How could you do this to me? It wouldn’t have cost you anything to say you weren’t going to respond to those questions. [!!] Marisol finally erupts at all this. “How do you think you were going to keep such an huge lie afloat, especially with a guy as smart as Pablo looking into it?” Betty responds: “The destruction of my career is thanks to you!” Pablo, nice guy that he is, feels badly about what happened to Betty.

Marlene coughs up a hairball when she hears Andy’s end of a conversation from the prison about Eva NOT being dead.

Eva and her prison buddies figure out that it was an attack arranged from outside the prison. Eva knows exactly who it was.

EVA LA TRAILERA – VIERNES – Parte 2 de 2

My DVR had a hiccup, so I missed Bobby apparently storming out of his adoptive parents’ house. Cinthia is crying.

Rats! The judge says that Betty’s perfidy is not enough of a reason to declare a mistrial. [What????] He tells Pablo he needs more evidence to show Eva is innocent.

Rebeca returns to the cell she shares with Eva and her prison friends. Eva hints Rebeca may have trouble sleeping.

Cinthia tells Robert they made a mistake telling Bobby what they told him. He’s apparently ended up drunk and at the police station. Robert tells her it’s a good sign he told the cops they were his parents.

I almost felt sorry for Armando tonight. He enters the Guest House and sees his daughters in a happy moment. But Fabiola freaked out at the sight of him. After he goes into his own house he tells himself that he lost his family for being an idiot.

Following some advice from Martín Pablo comes to see Eva at the prison and tells her to remember absolutely everything. She remembers refusing to take Sofía’s calls and throwing the letter opener/murder weapon out the window.

Pablo invites Berta and Adriana to lunch. For a minute Adriana reverts to snotty brat, but Pablo tells her to grow up. Does she want to help her mother or not?

Bobby is in his bedroom with a hangover. The file on Pancho and Soraya is in his bed with him. He asks his adoptive parents how it got there. Robert says he put it there so he’d realize how lucky he was to have been adopted by them. [Not very smart, Robert. This may be why your business is going down the tubes. What he needed was to win Bobby over but couldn’t resist being an ass.]

Apparently Pablo got through to Adriana because she, Berta and the maids are looking through the shrubbery for the cell phone. Marlene comes out, looking like evil personified, to ask what they’re doing. Adriana manages a good lie. She says they’re looking for a necklace she lost. Marlene calls Adriana a drug addict in front of the staff. Classy!

Martín and JJ have found most of what they need to re-open Federica’s case and Martín is thrilled.

Bobby comes to see Pancho and Soraya. He asks if it’s true what is in the file. Soraya tells him to call it by its correct name. She was a prostitute but not by choice. She was sold to traffickers right after he was born. She’s sobbing as she tells this story, and Bobby looks like he’s about to cry as well.

Pablo is depressed. His father tells him not to be such a pessimist. Pablo asks what if Marlene already found the cell phone or if it’s in a dozen pieces. Just then Adriana walks in. ¡Ni lo tiene Marlene ni se hizo pedazos! Aquí está la cellular de mí mamá! Smiles all around.

Eva,

wow, thanks so much for the recap novelera!

"Marlene coughs up a hairball" ha!

if she was naked in a white room all you would see would be her black hair and red lips moving around.

ah, Pablo has the cell phone, he should be able to wrap up this story in 1 or 2 more shows, I'm trying to remember what Sofia said, I think she fingered Marlene, not really proof but this might be good enough for the judge to reopen the case.

so Bobby is 18, and Soraya is telling him the story of her at 16, Pancho gone, horrible birth, bleeding badly, on painkillers, they take her baby away and sell her to human traffickers. I think he is getting it, I know I am.

Armando, Armando, Armando, he knows what's going on but Marlene has him totally funked, she's pretty, she's smart, and she's quick to overturn any of his logic, and all he has is his raging bull diplomacy, earlier we saw him hiding the picture of his darlings when Marlene walked into the room, and tonight when he was upset over Fabiola's rejection and went for solution number one, a drink, he couldn't even relax with one because Marlene was reeling him up to the bedroom.

ah and when earlier he walks in on Adriana and Bobby and accuses her of going from one guy to another, duh!, you are still married to Eva, (can we call Armando a slut?)

Federica is interesting because she is an aristocrat, same category as Marlene and Cinthia, who would have thought she would find friends in prison, but she did, it looks like a new day has dawned for her, and I'm loving how she has Marlene so figured out.

wow, and jumper girl took the knife for Eva, two eyes are not enough to watch our backs, Eva says, as she weaves all these ladies together, her roots as a truck driver run deep.

Betty, Betty, Betty, when you get done ranting, how about helping the good guys, you'll never find a better friend than Marisol, and in novela speak, your baby will be doomed.

Fatmagul

Yeah Vivi and my Fatma peeps, let's all b*itch slap MeMeMestaf and Muka. That could be our immediatel revenge!

Eva

Loved your recap, novelera, and I especially enjoyed your asides.

I was really surprised that it wasn't Eva who was stabbed. I guess that's why they just showed the knife going into an anonymous prison outfit at the end of the previous episode. We saw neither the attacker nor the victim, but everything had seemed to point to Eva as the target. I think the woman who got stabbed instead, Emilia, was the woman Eva had saved from suicide. If I'm not mistaken, Emilia deliberately endangered herself as a way to thank Eva for what she had done for her.

And I definitely share your relief at not having episode after episode of Eva on death's doorstep at the hospital.

I think Bobby shows signs of understanding and sympathizing with Soraya and Pancho, and of course I'm delighted that Adriana found the cell phone. My worry is that we're probably only about halfway through the novela. That's too soon for everything to work out well. Marlene surely isn't out of dirty tricks. And we don't know how Pablo will respond to finding out that Perra Betty is pregnant. I can't help but fear that we're being set up for a big fall. I'd love to be wrong.

Eva

Great comments, deb! You've got an amazing way with words. I was especially struck by the image of Marlene reeling Armando up to the bedroom.

And good for Adriana, who called Armando on his absurd criticism of her being with Bobby. Does Armando realize what a ludicrous hypocrite he is?

I'm not sure I want to see Betty come over to the side of the Good Guys. She's been such a perra and has done so much intentional harm...I don't want to have to forgive her.

Eva

When I was young, my mother used to tell me that if I didn't stop frowning, my face would freeze that way. I bet the actor who plays Robert Monteverde had a mother who told him the same thing, but he didn't listen.

GENERAL... (repost from TW)

Kate del Castillo in The New Yorker
http://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2016/03/21/kate-del-castillo-sean-penn-and-el-chapo

wow, good article on Kate and El Chapo.

Eva. Busy Saturday, late post. Excellent recap, novelera, and excellent comments, deb and juanita! It does look as if Eva is forming some kind of prison coop and bonding some of the other convicts to her. Great leadership qualities! Bet she reforms the whole prison before she leaves. The writers do seem to be making a lot of plot progress, which no doubt just means to be on the lookout for roadblocks. I too was surprised that Marisol's evidence wasn't enough for a new trial for Eva. I never fainted when I was pregnant, novelera, but my stomach did turn over once when I walked past a churro stand. Does that count? :)

PART I

Rescue Me

As Mustafa picks up Kerim’s hatchet to kill him, Fatma tells Mustafa to drop the hatchet or she will shoot him. Kerim is horrified, telling Fatma not to shoot, but she insists she will shoot if Mustafa does not let Kerim go. “You’ll shoot me for this imbecile?” Mustafa asks. As Mustafa raises the hatchet to finish off Kerim, a shot rings out from Fahrettin, hitting Mustafa square in the stomach. Fatma drops the gun she’s holding in shock and as Kerim hugs her, Mustafa grabs his gun and shoots Fahrettin in his right arm. Kerim then tackles Mustafa, hits him, which forces him to drop the gun. Mustafa grabs the hatchet again, throws it at Kerim, and summarily escapes, grabbing Fahrettin’s gun on his way out. Kadir and Meryem show up then, the former being told by Kerim to call for an ambulance since Fahrettin is injured, the latter comforting Fatmagul who’s on the ground in a ball of tears. The police finally arrive and give chase to Mustafa.

Rats Coralled

Selim and Erdogan are reading blog posts and newspaper articles over the internet and realize their support will further crater in the morning papers. Dr. Nil, after Erdogan’s slut shaming her in the club, writes a blog post about Erdo’s behavior and her support for Fatmagul; and Sinem, the journalist with whom Fatmagul was speaking writes another blockbuster article about the rape case, now including Fatmagul’s kidnapping and Hacer’s confession to Fatmagul. One of the Yasaran lackies tells Munir and Resat that Fatmagul has been found, but Mustafa has escaped. Munir asks where she was found, and the lacky, Yusav, tells them at the abandoned shoe factory near Riva. This is the same one where the Yasaran had held Mustafa and got him to confess he had killed Vural. Realizing this, Munir and Resat look as if they’ve got a bad case of indigestion since Mustafa kidnapping Fatmagul in this place makes them look complicit.

Meanwhile, Mustafa is still in the building where he kidnapped Fatmagul surrounded by police, who scream at him to give up as he is surrounded and has no escape. He escapes, though, like a true sewer rat, through the sewer system of the building. He is bleeding heavily from the wound and manages to collapse right before a cemetery.

Welcome Home, Fatmagul!

After giving testimony at the hospital about the kidnapping, our protagonists head home. Fatma greets and is greeted warmly and tenderly by Rahmi. Mukaddes even pretends to be a kind human being and genuinely hugs Fatma as well, telling her she’s safe now and that she’s glad Fatma is home. Her similitude to a warm human being doesn’t last very long, though, as she pokes and prods Fatma, Fahrettin, and Kerim to tell her about the kidnapping and shootout. Meryem, of course, has to chastise Mukaddes to not bother traumatized people for her own entertainment. She still pokes and prods Fahrettin about his gun and find out it is a registered arm and he always carried it on his person.
Fatmagul, who likes like all she’s been through, begs off to go upstairs and change out of the clothes she’s wearing, the ones Mustafa put her in. Realizing this, Rahmi and co agree to let her go upstairs and change and they’ll burn those clothes.

Fatmagul is in bed but can’t sleep. Meryem offers to spend the night with her but goes to get her some warm milk with honey to help her sleep. After she leaves to get her this, Kerim comes to Fatma’s room and tells her she has to try to sleep. Fatma laments that she couldn’t shoot Mustafa even though he was going to hurt Kerim. Kerim tells her to not blame herself because he himself could barely believe she pointed the gun at Mustafa. Fatma mourns still, wondering what would have happened if Fahrettin hadn’t showed up and made the choice for her. Kerim tells her not to dwell on this because they are now home, safe and sound; and the police will catch Mustafaa and her rapists, one by one. Fatmagul shakes her head in agreement and hugs Kerim tightly.

PART II

Rats Flee The Sinking Ship

Selim and Erdogan are also sleepless. Selim leaves his room and heads to Erdogan’s room and tells him they should escape. If they don’t, he argues, they’re headed back to jail, or Mustafa will kill them. Even worse, if the police find out the Riva abandoned shoe factory was the same place Resat and Munir took Mustafa to force him to confess to killing Vural, the family will be implicated in Fatmagul’s kidnapping. “Your mother is still the worse factor,” Erdogan adds, since she will no longer help her son and nephew hide their crimes. Selim suggests they rent a car and go as far away as possible. Erdogan suggests they go to a ghost town named Bozburrun and from there they can rent a boat and go to a Symi Island.

As Mustafa lies dying in the cemetery, two teens happen upon him; they question whether he’s dead or alive until he wakes up pulling a gun on them. They beg him not to shoot and he begs for the teens’ help. He has a lot of money-he opens his wallet as proof-and the teens help him. They take him to some abandoned place and give him food, milk and bread to eat. An older homeless man come to their space, and Mustafa gets paranoid and threatens to kill him, but the homeless man tells him he’s there to help.

Back at casa Fatmagul, it’s morning and Kerim helps his father adjust the sling on his injured arm. Fatmagul cries to herself. Outside, the reporters are back and the police show up. Kerim runs to greet them in hopes of hearing that Mustafa was captured. The police dash his hopes about Mustafa, but let him know the family’s petition for a bodyguard has been granted. He will guard Fatmagul around the clock.

At Casa Yasaran, Resat reads the morning papers and feels the reports have destroyed them. Resat goes off to look for Selim and Erdogan and finds them missing. He calls Selim’s phone, which rings as Selim and his cousin are fleeing the city. Erdogan curses out Selim for bringing the phone since the phone can be tracked. He takes the sim card out and throws the phone away. He then tells Selim they will go to the ATM at the next rest stop and withdraw all their money and live on cash from then on. Selim says he has some cash already and Erdogan says he took all his mother’s cash from her safe. Himilye checks her safe and sees her money is gone and then Resat, Perihan, and Himilye realize that their son and nephew have fled. “What idiots! They have no brains!” Resat intones.

A Bodyguard for Your Trouble

Fatmagul gets it together and goes downstairs to be with her family. Kerim introduces her to her bodyguard 24-hour bodyguard, Mirzat. Mirzat’s family is originally from Yugoslavia and he lost his parents in a Turkish earthquake. He’s young and handsome but Fatma looks right through him. After meeting Fatma, he decides it’s time for him to go outside and stand guard so as not to disturb the family. Kerim and Fahrettin declare they are relieved for Mirzat’s aid, while Fatma seemingly looks right through him. She asks if there’s any news of Mustafa’s capture and when she is told no, she looks disappointed.

Mustafa’s enablers, the two homeless teens and homeless older man, ponder what they should do with Mustafa since they’ve read in the morning paper he’s a wanted man. “He’s a killer,” one of the teens say. “He’s a suspect,” clarifies the older homeless man. The other teen say they won’t be given a reward if they turn Mustafa in, while the other says “True, but the police can arrest us if we help him.” “What should we do?” asks the other teen.

¿Qué Culpa Tiene Fatmagül? Cap 68 Friday March 11, 2016

PART III

No Good Deed

Mustafa wakes up and asks for the newspaper, skims it and then tells his enablers not to turn him in as he can give them money. The older homeless tells him he won’t be able to give them money if he isn’t cured of his injuries, so they have to take him to someone who’ll cure him. Mustafa asks for a phone, gets it and calls Munir. The police hear the call as they have tapped the Yasaran’s phones. Mustafa begs for help as he’s dying but Munir tells him there’s nothing more they can do for him. Mustafa threatens to sink them all, but gets told to go and rot in hell by Munir. The police apparently got enough information from the call to help with the Mustafa manhunt and say they will hand over the information to the district attorney.

Ender and Meltem’s innate trust of and in Mustafa comes back to bite them in the butt. Their business partners question just exactly what was Mustafa’s role in the business and as Ender can only say her husband Turaner trusted him which is why he worked in the business, the partners cancel their partnership and will announce it via press conference so the whole world will no they are not linked to the Yasaran.

Fahrettin is doing damage control by phone with Deniz, who, from the newsreports she’s read from Australia, things Fatma and Kerim have been gravely harmed. Fahrettin tells her to calm down as Kerim and Fatma are physically fine but he’s staying in Turkey to help Kerim. As he signs off the phone we see Fahrettin is being driven by Sami, who’s taking Fahrettin to where Hacer is hidden. He begs Fahrettin to not hurt Hacer as she’s suffered enough—her husband and father of her child is gone and she has no one but him; she’s like a sister to him. (Seriously, Hacer should end up with Sami; they get each other and won’t judge each other for their pasts. Sami has been the most honest and real person in Hacer’s life and he loves her unconditionally.) Fahrettin promises to not hurt Hacer and Sami takes him to her hideout, but she is not their. The next door neighbor tells them she ran off with some young men. Sami thinks it is Munir’s men who took her away to silence her.

We see the police are also tapping the phones of Team Fatma because they listen in on the call Fahrettin makes to Kerim letting him know they can’t find Hacer. Kerim mentions he’s very worried about a missing Hacer because he’s worried about her baby suffering harm. (Funny Kerim seems to care more about Mustafa’s child than Mustafa does.) Back at home Fatma gets a house call from the therapist and had a good cry as the therapist tells her to wash her hands and face afterwards. When she gets offered tea by Mukaddes, she asks for Kerim and seeing him missing, gets Rahmi to call Kerim and begs him to come home and not do anything foolish.

Mustafa is taken away in the elder homeless man’s oversized bag to a healer woman, who cons him out of his car as payment for her services. The police are close on Mustafa’s tail as the first rathole the teens took him is being investigated by the police.

At Resat’s, Ender and Meltem come over to announce that their partners ended the partnership. Resat says they can’t legally, but if they do, he’ll sue Meltem and Ender for breach of contract. He reminds them that he told them they would never get the best of him.

Erdogan keeps up with the news at an internet café and then calls Meltem’s secretary and sweet talks her into revealing information. Selim tells him it wasn’t wise to call the secretary but Erdo counters that no one knows about their relationship and her phone isn’t tapped.

¿Qué Culpa Tiene Fatmagül? Cap 68 Friday March 11, 2016

PART IV

The Hammer Falls, Fatma Smiles

At home Fatma, Rahmi and Mukaddes worry about what has happened to Fahrettin and Kerim who have yet to show up. Fahrettin appears first and decides to take Meryem and Fatma to a secret location. He assures Fatma and Mukaddes that Kerim is well and to come with him. Perihan calls their housekeeper Yadigar and tells her to handover the information to the police like she asked. Yadigar calls outside the police station and lets Perihan know she complied with the task just as directed. The police are listening in but look confused as to what Perihan refers.

Mustafa is with the elder homeless man and the elderly healer woman and he looks better as he drinks horse (!) soup, which the woman promises will make him better in a week, tops. The healer woman tries to make conversation asking from whom is Mustafa running away. He answers “his enemies,” to which she responds, “Perhaps, you’re the enemy.” “Only time will tell,” is Mustafa’s response.

At casa Yasaran Perihan packs a bag and walks through the house confidently even as Munir, Resat and Himilye hear a noise and are scare. The noise turns out to be Kerim and Munir threatens to call the police on him, to which Kerim agrees. “Go ahead, I want to hear you explain why Mustafa took Fatmagul to the same factory you took him to. I want you to explain all the dirty tricks you’ve done.” Munir instead calls Yasar and Kerim continues to accuse the Yasaran of dirty tricks. Resat is offended by Kerim’s accusations and wonders how he can be so high-minded when he too took money from them. Kerim admits that was a mistake, but highlights that Resat gave Mustafa a gun to kill him after he reported the rape and they went to Ildir, so Fatmagul would be left defenseless and alone. “Mustafa told me everything,” Kerim says. “You can’t prove anything,” says Resat. Munir adds that Mustafa is a lunatic and Kerim is no better than him. Kerim lets Munir and Resat know the police have all the evidence they need to incriminate the Yasaran and looks to Perihan for confirmation. “Right, Senora Perihan?” The police show up to arrest Resat and Munir and Fahrettin shows up with Meryem and Fatmagul to witness it. As her husband is arrested, Perihan hands Resat the bag she had packed. We see a flashback of Kadir speaking to Kerim explaining that Hacer testified against Mustafa and los Yasaran so Kerim shouldn't do anything stupid. Fatmagul looks at Kerim and for the first time in the episode she smiles as Resat and Munir are taken away. She runs into Kerim’s arms for a hug. “This is only the beginning, Fatmagul; this is just the beginning,” Kerim promises Fatma.

END OF EPISODE

FATMAGUL:

Aww! That was such a great ending after the last stressful episode. Thank you, J!

I broke out laughing when Perihan handed handcuffed Resat his already packed prison bag. Hilarious!

Mustafa lives on another day. But the Yasaran and Munir are on the way down. Selim and Erdogan running away is going to do their case no good. Yay!

Welcome, Mirzat! Cutie bodyguard.

FATMAGUL

Lol, Vivi. Perihan was thoughtful and cold-blooded at the same time with that packed bag move. He can't complain his wife abandoned him when she packed his stuff for him.

Mirzat is cute but Fatma looked right through him as if he didn't exist. All she wanted to know is if they got Mustafa; and she wanted Kerim to be by her side.

Mustafa is evil but I'm loving the action-adventure aspects of his escape. Really good writing and staging on the writers' part here. His ratholes look like abandoned buildings and not soundstages. The whole novela has been like that, bathed in realism, which draws you in.

I'm glad "Esclava Blanca" will take over Fatma's place when it ends. I've followed the tn's Instagram page and it stars some people who were in "La Pola" and it also looks realistic and captivating.

Fatma: Thanks so much J. Glad to see the chips are falling where they may and the cousins have stupidly fled. Yay. Mukka is too much. She asked Fatma if Musta put the clothes on her implying a sexual intent. What a slimeball. Musta is where he belongs in a sewer like a rat.

Quién

deb - I agree!!! I wish someone would push Justino under a moving bus. Maybe they could take care of Ignacio, too.

Eva

Thanks for all the great comments everyone. I guess I’m still in Bajo el Mismo Cielo fandom. I keep getting annoyed at the plot holes. First off, the judge doesn’t automatically declare a mistrial. He says something about Pablo needing to get more evidence she’s innocent. Hello? The whole basis of our legal system has been stated as it being better for many guilty persons to be set free for lack of evidence than for one innocent person to sit in a cell. The judge himself stated that the motive for the crime is revealed to be non-existent because Eva had moved on from Armando to a better man. This would have shown Armando’s and Marlene’s testimony to be lies. And, Betty’s complete lack of ethics in prosecuting Eva doesn’t buy Eva a thing, only punishment for Betty.

Her pathetic lawyer had actually stated that there was not enough time for Eva to have disposed of a weapon. Even more ridiculous, the knife was found tucked under some wooden pallets outside the building. Didn’t Eva have to get Evencio to let her in in the first place? Wouldn’t he have noticed if she went out and hid the knife and then came back in? But this key point didn’t register with that TN jury.

I guess the writers are so enamored with their “Women in Chains” portions of the writing that they’ve made the judge’s decision ridiculous.

And Armando continues to be portrayed as a complete idiot. Adriana comes to his office with a packet of drugs, says it was left on her breakfast tray, and all that happens is his giving Marlene a dirty look. The only evidence of Adriana herself choosing to take drugs is the word of Marlene. So if Adriana were such an addict, why would she pour out the packet in front of her father? Wouldn’t any parent with blood in their veins kick Marlene to the curb?

Deb, thanks for posting the link to the article about Kate Del Castillo. I had read it because I get a daily email from the New Yorker because I'm a subscriber. Many of the articles available in the daily email don't actually appear in the print edition I get every week.

Anyway, I sent that article on to the other telenovela fan in my forever Spanish class. She also watched La Reina del Sur when it first aired. It was such an interesting and well written article. Sean Penn didn't come off so well in it.

By the way in my class we're reading a book of short stories by Gabriel Garcia Marquez: Doce Cuentos Peregrinos. These are, as one might expect, very well written.

FAtma

Romy.....Muka purposely asked about the clothes in front of everyone to bring attention to it. She's never trying to be considerate or positive....on the contrary...she likes to antagonize and instigate the negative.

Didn't like the way she dealt with Rhami when they were alone in the house. Rightly so, he was worried sick about his sister and when Muka wasn't giving him more things to worry about...she was thinking about herself and her living arrangements...just disgusting.

Ditto...that body guard is muy guapo....me gusto! What other TN is he in.

Vivi..it was good to see the rats scatter and run. Wouldn't it be nice if all of them.....the Y men and MEstafa end up in the same jail. The Y men can be MEstafa's prison B's! Ok...a girl can dream :>)

GENERAL...

novelera- what I found interesting in the New Yorker article was that Kate del Castillo made the connection with El Chapo while she was filming "Dueños del paraíso".

GENERAL

Deb, thanks for the repost of the New Yorker article. It was a great read. While I don't think Kate is much of a doe-in-the-woods as she is being portrayed, I do believe Sean Penn was just as jerky and petty as portrayed. He's always been a self-righteous hypocrite and I'm not surprised.

GENERAL...

thanks J,

I agree about Sean, and his interviews with Charlie Rose that I watched made no sense at all.

what I loved about the article though is that it gave us an insight into the real Kate del Castillo, that she does things without regard to the consequences (otherwise known as living in the moment), and I'm guessing there may have been an open bottle of tequila the night she posted that twitter.

I was also thinking, how cool, she has the rights to his (El Chapo) story, but wait, this guy is an updated version of Pablo Escobar, what would her life expectancy be after putting this out.

and then there is the thingy about being accused of crimes by the Mexican government, and she figures if she goes there she will be arrested, as in they can put a person under house arrest for 90 days without charging them with a crime.

this article really threw out the consequences, poor Kate, and like el Chapo, I love her and trust that she will do the right thing or whatever, it's ok with me, she has style.

I'm thinking she could run against Donald Trump,
and beat him at his own game.

(this post has no political whatever in any shape or form and any similarity to living people is only imagined)

Fatma: You are right Nett. Tacky thy name is Mukka, lol, and crude. And my goodness this woman never accepts any blame for her actions. I abhor her, yuck.

J you do great work. Loved the way you used the subtitles in ur fab recap. I have been missing some of the live epis, the recaps really help.

Nett, thanks for responding to my Question about Tele posting of epis on demand, now I can catch up with missed epis.

Ah, my Fatma peeps ITA with all of your insightful comments. The Y ship is going down and I am enjoying it.
