Sueño de amor #2 3/9/16

After tonight, I am just going to have to get used to expecting the unexpected since all in one episode we went: from a musical number in the street to high blood sugar to Botox to an interrupted sexual assault to a trip down memory lane in silhouette and to lots more. I have to admit I enjoy the variety . . . and liked this episode much more than the first.

We will pick up just after Pato is creeped out finding out that Luca is her brother as her father Ernesto just has this weird grin on his face. Luca tries to say something but Ernesto cuts him off. He is so glad to meet his beautiful daughter. Pato has been waiting for this moment for years and does not know what to say to him so Ernesto invites Pato and Luca both out to dinner. Luca begs off saying they must have a lot to talk about. Pato just gives a sad uncomfortable look as she leaves with the still grinning Ernesto.

School time: Esperanza is playing a recording of her principal Silvana Fierro threatening her if she does not change Paulo Rey's grade. She wants her principal to be aware thay she he has the recording on the phone and is ready to play it for the school board if necessary. Silvana tells her she can keep her job but not for long. She may have won the battle but not the war. Esperanza Didn't know they were at war but she is not afraid. She needs her job to earn a living but she also needs her job to protect her students from a principal like her. Silvana informs her that she will make her life miserable and will not rest until she has destroyed Esperanza!!!!!!!!

Outside of school, Pedro (Esperanza's son) is trying to put the moves on a redhead who isn't interested in him a bit. She does not want to be bothered by him but he does find out her name is Kristel. Pedro must have been on his way to the doctor's office where he finds himself with !!!!!!!DIABETES PSA ALERT!!!!!!! certain symptoms: he feels weak, has the chills and is always thirsty. The doctora will call with his test results but decides to do a blood sugar test on the spot. The reading is 380. Not good. He does not want to tell his mother about his medical concerns quite yet.

The "peanut choker" Adrián leads Esperanza out of school into the street where he and his "musturd" dressed (thanks to Nandicta) classmates do a song and dance performance right there. The message is that he thanks her for saving his life. Esperanza joins in the dancing and they all have a good old time. After the performance Adrián tells Eaperanza about how tough his mother is(worse than the principal) and about how she always is spying on him. She is off getting some beauty treatment somewhere. He does not know when she will get back. The conversation ends with Adrián asking Esperanza what went on between her and his dad. Esperanza is not talking. He is sure that his dad is attracted to her.

At a restaurant the ever grinning Ernesto is having dinner with his new found daughter Pato. He tells her what a great human being Luca is and she goes over her meeting Luca yesterday in a little black and white vision in her head. You can tell she is really bummed that he is her brother. The rest of the dinner does not go very well whenshe asks Ernesto why he didn't want anything to with her for seventeen years but now he does????? Why did she not deserve his love? The grin is gone as he starts to explain that he loved her mother and that her mother wanted nothing to do with him. Pato angers quickly and tells him that her mother was the victim so he better not blame her. Her mother left her because he had fooled her: he was already married. Why wasn't she Pato ever important to him. He has no explanation but asks that she forgives him. She is out of there!!!! Pato is then on a bus talking out loud to herself going over the whole thing with her dad and Luca. (Guess she never learned the most important public transportation rule: never do anything to call attention to yourself!!!!!) Luca calls her while she is on the bus and wants to go out to eat with her so they can talk.

In the classroom, Esperanza is talking about natural disasters and global warming. One of her students Salma is not paying attention because she has it bad for Adrián who in turn is interested in Estrella. Salma tells Esperanza that Estrella is a "naca ñoña" (a nerdy ignorant girl with no class). Salma just wants to know how to hook up with Adriân and send "Estrella" back to space. There is no sympathy for Salma.

On another bus, Adrián is riding home with the girl he likes Estrella Gallo and her wheel chair bound brother Kiko. Chit chat. She cannot go out with him for a break; there is too much homework. More chit chat. Kiko just rolls his eyes. The bus "stops short" and Estrella ends up with her arms around Adrián. All three of them finally get off the bus. Kiko leads the way on the street followed by Estrella and Adrián as they walk home. Kiko makes a quick move out of the way and suddenly Adrián is confronted by Estrella's older brother Erasmo Gallo (who works construction and has the biceps to prove it) who tells him to stay away from sister. With a few more comments Adrián leaves literally running down the street. The Gallos all have a good laugh. They do tGallo "hug" with Kiko doing the Gallo crow/chirp.

We are with Eaperanza in traffic at a stoplight. She is remembering and picturing (in black and white of course) a how Ricardo told her he was going across the border the next day so he could grow and get more money to support his family. She remembers how worried she was about him going and how she told him that he was the other half of her life. She comes to the realization that it has been more than twenty years and she still misses him as she tears up in her car.

Pato waits for Luca in a café. He comes bearing news. It so happens that Ernesto de la Colina is not his biological father. They are not brother and sister!!!!!! They are both happy happy! They both like each other a lot. It sounds like Lucas' mother had him by a man other than Ernesto who she was married to at the time.  Ernesto found out about it when Luca was a little kid as did Luca. Pato and Luca leave the café. Luca talks about how much he loves Ernesto and even opens his shirt so he can show Pato the scar from the operation he had to give Ernesto one of his KIDNEYS!!!!!!!Pato is impressed.

Esperanza has made it to the gym to do some spinning. She replays in her head her earlier encounter with Silvana the principal, her encounter with Ernesto and her goodbye to Ricardo. The more she thinks the more upset she gets and the faster she pedals. Esperanza finally has made it home and comes out of the shower to answer her phone. It seems that Silvana her principal is not happy with the test she is planning on giving so she needs another one done much better for tomorrow. It's an order!!!!!!Esperanza can hear her exam being fed to the shredder.

At the construction site Estrella, Erasmo amd Kiko Gallo are eating along with the construction crew. It seems like their parents are out of the picture and Erasmo is supporting them. Estrella wants to get some kind of job to help out but Erasmo wants her to just study. No is no.

At the Guerrero house, Pedro and his mother Esperanza are talking about how much she loved  Ricardo with him being her first love. Yes, after all of those years and all that she does everyday, she thinks about Ricardo about every two minutes. Furthermore, she dreams about him almost every night. She tells Pedro just to wait because he will have his own experiences and then he will think back on what she said. Pedro just chuckles.

Pato has gone with Luca in his car and they are headed off to his father's house. His father is a workaholic and won't get home until late. She asks if he has bad intentions. He responds with: very bad. They go in the house, look around and end up on a huge back balcony. They continue to flirt and he gives her a flower. Then they kiss.Their private moment is cut short because Luca's mother Viviana has arrived and is literally in the house. She wants a kissfrom Luca but ne needs to be careful because she just got some Botox injections.

Estrella is out on the street with Kiko when she is noticed by a couple of guys who have sexual assault on their mind. There is nowhere to run. There is nowhere to hide. In the struggle that follows, Kiko does his best to defend his sister but is knocked out of his wheel chair onto the ground. Erasmo arrives, punches the guys out and they leave. Nobody better mess with his brother and sister.

Back at the Guerrero house, Pedro and his mother are on her computer looking at the plans her dream ( school.) The only thing she will need is money. He tells her not to worry and the "Peace Virgin"(????) will help her. Pedro wants to hear the story about Ricardo AGAIN. So, Esperanza tells it again but this time it is illustrated with silhouette figures in the background. She never knew what happened to him but the "ghost of his love" still lives in her heart. She says she has her kids now and that Pedro and his sister are the most important things in her life. Pedro says, yes, but she still misses Ricardo. She admits she will miss him until the day she dies bit she has her kids who are the greatest loves of her life. Pedro looks ill for a second and Esperanza notices it. He says he is okay.

At the construction company, Ernesto tells Ariel his secretary that he needs his daughter to forgive him. How can he justify abandoning her. She says he can't. He is not happy with her unemotional response and calls her a robot. She knows him and thinks that the real reason he wants to get to know his daughter is so he can get back with her mother. Ernesto agrees but insists that he really does have a desire to get to know his daughter. He has a plan and tells Ariel to cancel all of his appointments.

Back at Ernesto's house, Luca is explaining to Viviana his mother how Pato is his father's daughter. Viviana knows that Pato's mother is Esperanza Guerrero. It turns out that Viviana and Ernesto are getting a legal separation. She asks if Pato and Lucas are novios. Pato says no and they joke about it.

Pato is on the bus going home looking at all of her selfies with Lucas on her phone. She misses her stop and when she gets off, Ernesto and his entourage are there. They have followed her. She asks grinning Ernesto why he is scaring her.He has something for her. She gets in  Ernesto's car with him. He has bought her a bracelet. The occasion is that he got to meet her. Her answer: he could have known her from the day she was born is her answer. He is really sorry. She is not buying it because she had to track him down. She cannot keep the bracelet. Love cannot be bought. She tells him one more time it is all his fault. He says he cannot do anything to change the past. Pato tells him that Esperanza has been her mom and dad. She has never needed anyone else. They reach her house and she leaves.

At Ernesto's house, Viviana is using some sort of electrical stimulator on her face as part of her beauty treatment. She is not impressed with Pato. Lucas deserves somebody better. She is just a little girl. Then there is the fact that her mother is a teacher: no decent social class is associated with teachers. Adrián arrives home and Viviana covers his face in kisses. She then goes on to tell him that they are in a state of total chaos because his brother Luca is going out with Adrián's half sister.

Esperanza and Pedro are out for some corn on the cob. While they are sitting outside enjoying their treat, Esperanza notices a guy and thinks it is her long lost love Ricardo!!!!!!

Well, it probably is because it sure looks like we will have a Cristián sighting tomorrow night!!!!!

I cannot believe how much happened in just this the second episode. what fun!

Thanks!

After watching this episode I went back and watched the one I missed yesterday and I understood the context of the porquirio and his small eyes reference.

In México, like many other parts of the world, I suppose, you can say stuff like that if you mean it as a term of endearment and are close to that person. We can call people old, fat, black, and everything that could seem inappropriate coming from someone that we don't know well. It's hard to explain, but after I saw it, it is not a big deal...

Now let's talk about this episode:

So Esperanza recorded the first threat and NOT THE SECOND where the principal swears she will do everything in her power to destroy Esperanza? How dumb is that?

I felt ''borrowed pity'' pena ajena with the musical mob flash number on the street.

When I saw Viviana obsessed with beauty, I couldn't help but remember that friday the 13th mask Linda Evans used to advertise, Jajaja!

Let's all pray Virgen de la Paz Baja California Sur that Cristian shows up tomorrow!! After all, he is the male protagonist, isn't he?

I am sticking to this, I am sure it will more fun that the ghostbusters all female cast movie coming soon to a theater near you!!

Gracias Jarifa!

Well to put in my thoughts, I loved how Espie recorded the conversation altough at the wrong moment. But how often do we see a protagonist utilizing their phones for beneficial purposes anyway? Even in modern times, I have never seen a good character use the record feature in a telenovela!

I loved how Pato put the smirking Ernie in his place but I am sure that Ernie will break through her thick skin soon enough. Goddamit I just pray a La Virgen de Christian that he doesn't fall in paternal love with her!

As much as I try I just dont like the Gallo kids at all ( Except Erasmo, wow the guy's HOT) Neither do i appreciate Adrian but the dance was nice. Was that Gangam Style? Will we get Christian Style too? Or Harlem Shake Sabine edition?

I hate Silvana, I feel like that she is going to be a gigantic pain en los Miercoles in the future. Her outfit reminds me of the Hitler Jungen. Just send her straight to Saturn. The poor paper shredder will be in need of psychiatric treatment by the time he finishes his lunch.

After watching last night, I thought that the one thing I cannot complain about is nothing happening. Then there is the variety of action. You never know what is going to happen. I hope they can keep it up. Sure wish they would shoot Julián Gil from another angle or from farther away. He is not looking as good as I know he can look. : )

Pablo, definitely "pena ajena ". The good part of that is that the routine wasn't too slick or "professional" looking. It looked like a bunch of kids. I sort of like that. Thanks for your comment on "Porquirio". That was a good read on the situation.

CountxAlacran, Erasmo sure is a cutie!

Jarifa, you gently stoked the kindling which culminated in a roaring fire. This was fabulous.

One of the many things I so love about your recaps is that your enthusiasm is contagious.

"from a musical number in the street to high blood sugar to Botox to an interrupted sexual assault to a trip down memory lane in silhouette and to lots more" said it all. Perfect. Also enjoyed "peanut choker" Adrián" and "naca ñoña" (a nerdy ignorant girl with no class) among many others.

I am still trying to process who the characters are and their interrelationships. So Luca gave Ernesto one of his kidneys? The kid is just about perfect. I like Pato who seems "real" and natural, not unaffected. Kiko is going to be another of my favs I can tell.

Oh, Osvaldo de Leon! Be still my heart. Loved him in La Malquerida...Does he ever look handsome here. In fact, I would say all the men in this are coming across as amazingly photogenic - even Julien who I don't think has ever looked better (I know you don't concur Jarifa but I have to admit, he is not one of my favs).

Well done Jarifa! I think this will be a fun ride.

Diana

Thanks, Jarifa! I concur with Diana about your contagious enthusiasm. You made this episode seem so much better than it was.

I watched with one eye, so I didn't pay much attention to the dance number, but wow, they ran through a lot of plot points and genres this episode!

What I liked was that the incest story was blown away very quickly. All the kids know who their bio-daddies are. Even the spouses know all about their partner's illegitimate kids. Luca's mom's problem with Pato was not that she's her husband's kid from an affair, but that she's poor, young and unpolished, and not good enough for her perfect son. Fair enough.

Also loved that Espy used a cell phone recording to get the principal to back off about changing the grade. Yeah, let's hope she's prepared to record the next time the principal threatens to harass her out of her job. That was rather stupid of her to do, knowing that Espy had already recorded her once.

This is really appreciated Jarifa. I admit to a short attention span and only name I remember is Patty so thank you for connecting the dots.

Luca is a bit of a braggart showing his scar and taking Patty to daddy's house. Wouldn't impress me cause what if I needed a kidney and now he hasn't a spare.

What is it now with mid 20's rich professional guys cruising for schoolgirls? This one and Un Camino Hacia El Destino.

The mother son tell all conversation about Pedro's long lost daddy and how he was the love of her life was a little weird for me. If the father of her other child not been married would she tell Pedro the same? What about poor Patty?

So, I read yesterday a Vietnamese woman had twins from different fathers and the DNA proved there was no mix up at hospital. It's possible though highly improbable but it can happen. Paternity is such a stalwart in TN's this would be a great addition, that is, if it hasn't been done before.

I almost didn't recognize Osvaldo de León

Hmmmm. . . So Erasmo is Osvaldo de León. Learn something every day.

Diana, thanks! This may not be the greatest but it kept my attention last night. I think that Osorio's son will do well as Kiko.

Vivi, thanks! ITA that one if the best things about last night was that that little wiff of incest was quickly dismissed. It did add an extra point of interest though albeit in a distasteful way.

Tofie, thanks! great comment ". . . what if I needed a kidney and now he hasn't a spare." You have me laughing this a.m.

Thank you for a delightful recap, Jarifa! Your retelling conveyed an elegance and a subtelty that were sorely lacking in the actual episode. I also loved your witty asides.

Just a small rectification: Ricardo is not Pedro's father. Pedro's father is someone that Esperanza knew after her separation from Ricardo, but he is now out of the picture. We'll find out soon enough what happened and how Esperanza wound up with two kids by different fathers and without Ricardo, the love of her life.

I agree that the weird flash mob dance outside school had me shaking my head in utter disbelief. It gave me pena ajena too. This nonsense was rife in MCET and the resounding success of that TN has really emboldened Osorio. He's trying to follow the same formula here but he doesn't have Silvia Navarro or Jorge Salinas. Love my Chilean beefcake but he is no Salinas, and La Monroe doesn't hold a candle to the actoraza that Silvia Navarro is. Osorio better check himself.

I gotta admit that I don't mind the Osorio Kid (Kiko Gallo) too much in this one because we'll be spared the dancing, for now. When Kiko makes his miraculous recovery at some point down the line and discovers a passion of dancing and bad rapping, I will go back to fastforwarding through his scenes.

I did laugh out loud at one point yesterday, when "the peanut choker" (tee hee) said that he felt "trabado como internet chafa" ("stuck like bad internet service"). :D

I also gotta give credit to Osorio for Erasmo Gallo (Gallo as in tough guy, just in case we didn't see the muscle on Osvaldo de León's athletic frame). Then Osorio recycled the "Abrazo Lascuráin" from MCET into "Abrazo Gallo", so I had no choice but deduct the Erasmo point.

Looking forward to tonight. Hope the guy on the motorcycle is Ricardo. I would feel bad if Esperanza discarded that yummy elote to run after some other Non-Ricardo dude.

Thanks again, Jarifa!

tofie, Jarifa beat me to it. Loved your kidney comment! :)

Jarifa, so Kiko is Osario's son? Paternalism or not, he's good!

Diana

-- Pablo: Thanks for the explanation about terms in endearment in Spanish. I am familiar with this as I have friends that call(ed) me gordis, gordita, güera, flaca... One of my favorite petnames is cachetes, because I have high cheekbones and when I smile, I look like a happy hamster according to my amiga.

I wasn't bothered that one of the Three Stooges was nicknamed "Puerquirio", he was shown to be a glutton and it's not out of the ordinary for his loved ones to use that trait as a term of endearment. What bothered me is "the small eyes" reference. I have close friends, travel buddies, work colleagues, classmates and roommates from a variety of Asian countries and I would never dare to make a "joke" like that to them. Firstly, because it's lame and unfunny and, secondly, because it's inappropriate in my opinion. Actually, to be honest, I tried this "joke" on my Malaysian ex-roommate yesterday while Skyping and her answer was: "Are you drunk?". She was not amused and we love each other like sisters.

"I gotta admit that I don't mind the Osorio Kid (Kiko Gallo) too much in this one because we'll be spared the dancing, for now. When Kiko makes his miraculous recovery at some point down the line and discovers a passion of dancing and bad rapping, I will go back to fastforwarding through his scenes".

Ahh, Nandicta, I dismissed the possibility he was the same child from the Salinas Sound of Music TN (I forget the name). I thought he was older and heavier there but my memory is obviously failing me.

Too funny! I thought he was a barely passable dancer but hope/suspect he may be a better than average actor. Let's hope he sticks to acting and leaves the dancing to those more suited.

Diana

-- Tofie: You're a hoot and a half! Having a kidney to spare is a requisite for any future romantic partner.

-- Diana: Even if he's Osorio's kid, the child actor playing Kiko is fine by me, as long as I'm spared dancing and musical numbers. We're gonna have our hands full with the talents of the peanut choker and his mob of musturd dancers!

Thanks for the wonderful recap Jarifa! I still haven't these two episodes.

I have a question. Pato is the eldest child right? So Esperanza fell in love with Ernesto but he was married. Had a child and he didn't want anything to do with it. Then she falls in love with Cristian's character, has a kid by him and he disappears? Her track record is pretty lousy, even if the 2nd guy didn't know she was pregnant.

I am glad too that all the secrets and incests are all out of the way. Maybe there will be new ugly stories but atleast our antagonists dont have emotional strings of the past to strangle our protagonists with. This gives characters more room for actual development. I am not a fan of Osorio but atleast he has spared us of bio daddy subplots. Bloood transplants will remain blood transplants and not "Oh no, the jig is up!" . Let's see how Osorio will screw this up!

Maybe if Kiko gets a recovery and discovers a desire for passion , let him dance Gangam Style near the cliff!

I am looking forward to see more from the misogonyst, sexist, racist and at the same time charming Osorio!

Like Nandicta, I also heard in that conversation that Ricardo is not Pedro's father, and Espy was kind of apologizing for gushing over Ric, and NOT his dad, being the love of her life, with TMI about dreaming of him every night. No secrets in THAT family.

So 20 years ago, Espy was in love with Ric, who crossed the border, never to be heard from again. A very short time later she has Pedro by some guy we know nothing about right now. And like a millisecond after that, she falls for married Moustache, and gets pregnant with Pato, who is now 17. And then she had a dry spell for the last near 18 years. I guess she figured, three strikes and you're out, and took herself out of the game.

-- Diana: I posted before seeing your earlier comment. How could you forget the "musical prodigy" from the "Salinas Sound of Music TN" (Good one!)? He was in PEAM as well and Colunga's expressions everytime he saw him captured the viewers' sentiment perfectly (I don't know whether Colunga was even acting there!)

Here check this out and prepare to shake your head and laugh your head off at the same time: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_FGRwoZyp0

-- Carvivlie: I agree with the timeline provided by Vivi. That's what I understood too but there is still a lot of information to be revealed about why Ricardo disappeared and what happened to Pedro's dad.

Have a great day, everyone! Catch ya later! :)

Tofie- OMG! That was hilarious! Colungna's face was priceless. I hope he just kept thinking of the nice paycheck he was getting. I guess that's the point in that tn when I wasn't really watching that often, or skipping every scene that kid was in, because I never saw that. Yes, thank goodness he's confined to a wheelchair in this tn.

I've mentioned prior as I grew up being the only asian most my school mates had seen in real life, being a girl, studious, smallest and with catwoman eyeglasses I was on the receiving end of about every intended and unintended pantomime and mockery. It didn't get much better as I shed the glasses, bloomed, became popular, especially with the boys. The unrelenting assault did develop a thick skin and sharp tongue which to the untrained eye appeared, in a teens mind, an aloof bitch. Thankfully my parents wouldn't allow me to become bitter but better. I would lie if I told you it didn't hurt still (you'd be amazed the self appointed enlightened bigots out there,I sat across from one at a dinner party last weekend), though most I know comes from ignorance. Some are just flat ass ignorant and patronizing but others know not their ignorance and genuinely are hurt once they realize they hurt me. I can work with and befriend them.

-- CountxAlacran: I just saw this: "Maybe if Kiko gets a recovery and discovers a desire for passion , let him dance Gangam Style near the cliff!" Oooh you're bad! I share your sentiment and I can't stop laughing! Thanks for the LOLs! :D

I meant, Nandicta. Not Tofie. Although I did love the kidney comment too.

Thanks Vivi for the timeline!

Thanks, Nandicta, for clarifying Pedro's father.

Carvivlie, thanks! I am glad you are going to give this a try.

Tofie, thank you for sharing your experience with us.

OT: I don't know how much difference 15 pounds make on a woman's body, but in all interviews and presentations Osorio has made for this novela, he prouds himself saying that he offered the job to Monroe under the condition that she lose weight. She did. For me, she still looks chubbier than let's say, Viviana. I don't see the point of making the actress change in order to get the job, because I don't see anything wrong with a regular mom with two jobs and a spinning class looking ''normal''.

Nandicta, that video was priceless! Yes, I have no doubt Colunga's reaction was completely honest and real. I cringed watching it. Bless Carman Salinas for her sweet smiling approval. She earned her paycheck that day!

Pablo, I applaud your comments. Monroe seems to have the figure that many women do. She clearly is not a stick figure (credit Bridget Jones)...I think she looks great.

Diana

tofie, people can be insensitive. Bless you for being so forgiving when people's words have hurt you and for realizing some words weren't intentional.

People should know better but sadly, there are many times they do not.

I sense some of the comments directed at you growing up were spawned from jealousy. You blossomed and others wilted.

Diana

Pablo, thanks, that is interesting. From a woman's point of view I find it insulting but realize that unfortunately that is how the game is played.

testing one two three testing one two three
This is just a test, havin trouble gettin a comment on.

Thank you, Jarifa. I will continue to watch..mostly for Osvaldo. (Diana..tee-hee..I am a fan, too.) I also like sweet Pedro because I have a soft spot for gingers having several in my family.

Thanks, Jarifa. Terrific job. You put in so much with seeming ease, like Yes, after all of those years and all that she does everyday, she thinks about Ricardo about every two minutes.

Squee, Erasmo! I don’t know why he let those thugs run off though. I guess so they can turn up another day for a rumble.

I like Ariel the robot and I don’t know why.

Love Julian’s shark look with the mustache. He’s no good and I like it.

Yay, the incest story is over.

Tofie, “now he hasn't a spare” –- too funny.

Pablo and Tofie, thanks for sharing your perspectives on the comment about Porquirio’s eyes. I’ve seen this joke enough in Mexican TV to figure it’s accepted and not considered harmful, but it’s always done from the perspective of the jokester, not the recipient. Maybe Sueño will break some new ground and show things from Porquirio’s perspective.

Yes it is, because I don't think Monroe would look bad even with those 15 pounds ''overweight''. Could even help the character for more realism, but anyway, what I find more annoying are those close ups to the eyes, specially when they're gray, blue, green...

OK, we get it, most of the people here have light-colored eyes, what led me to realize the lack of diversity. Where are the dark skinned mexicans with brown or black eyes? I heard that for Simplemente María, who suppose to be indigenous, they choose Claudia Alvarez!!

(((Tofie)))

Jarifa, lovely recap. Thank you. It does seem as though this show Is moving right along. I like that. I don't like it when it takes soooooo looooooong. Its moving along rather quickly I like that.

I don't have cc3 on my TV but when I was watching it last night I could tell he was saying something about maybe being adopted but then I read the recap this morning and it seems that Ernesto is not his bio dad that's a good thing, now all they have to do is deal with his botoxed mother.

I too thought that Ricardo/Chris was making an appearance. I saw that guy on that motorcycle and his biceps looked really large like Christians does. He wasn't that big when he was on Grey's Anatomy, of course he was wearing suits and Doctor scrubs but anyway I hope he does make an appearance tonight, that would be nice. Ok we'll see what funny
Stuff happens tonight.

An excellent recap. Thank you Jarifa.

The dance number was cringeworthy. Please Osorio don't do that to us again!

The "Abrazo Gallo" already annoys me. Like Augusto always said on Lichita.. "STOP!".

Glad that the incest storyline is out. Osorio gets points for that.

Great clip. Nandicta. I loved FC's expression. I bet it was REAL. The Osorio kid is new to me, and so far he's tolerable as Kiko, but yes hopefully he stays confined to that wheelchair for the whole TN. I don't want to see him do a dance number.

Jarifa thank you, liked the second night much better as I am starting to sort out the various characters. Not a familiar face among them except the girl in the Pantene commercial. I think this is going to be fun and glad to see familiar faces on the patio. Thanks again for helping me get names and faces together.

I think Osorio has issues with weight because I think with MCET it was said he wanted the children to be put on a weight loss regimen and the only child on the show with weight issues was his own son. All the other kids were thin.

And his son wasn't even chunky during the show, he looked like a normal 10 year old.

Obviously he put his kid on weight loss because I didn't even recognize Osorio Kid at first. I realize he's older than when MCET was taped but he's also a lot thinner. I'm glad Niurka is his mother because if he looked just like his father...

WHO THE KIDS BELONG TO

GUERRERO FAMILY:

Esperanza, mom
Pedro, son by Carmona (we don't know who Carmona is)
Pato (Patricia), daughter by Ernesto de la Colina

I am assuming Pedro is OLDER than Pato because Ernesto's investigation claims Espy hasn't been in a relationship for 18 years and Pato is 17.

DE LA COLINA FAMILY:

Ernesto, dad of Adrian, adoptive father/stepfather of Luca
Viviana, mom of Luca & Adrian
Luca, son of Viviana and some guy she cheated on Ernesto with
Adrian, son of Ernesto & Viviana
Pato, daughter of Ernesto

Interesting that Luca was a match for Ernesto's kidney donation...could be nothing, or could it?

GALLO FAMILY:

Erasmo, oldest brother
Estrella, sister
Kiko (I'm assuming his given name is probably Enrique), youngest brother
No parents to be seen

OTHER ASSORTED PEOPLE:

Paulo, son of a wealthy donor

Kristel, lived with her gramma in anther country

We have not yet met Paulo's dad or Kristel's gramma

I will also add, Ernesto probably found out about Viviana cheating on him and that Luca wasn't his kid around the same time he was fooling around with Esperanza.

I don't know why Ernesto & Viviana just didn't get a divorce, unless Viviana was pregnant with Adrian and Ernesto stayed for the child (which may be why he is not fond of Adrian ...Ernesto may resent Adrian for being stuck in marriage with Viviana).

It does speak well of Ernesto that he treats Luca as his son. I haven't seen the contempt for Luca from Ernesto that he has for Adrian.

Thank you for all of your kind comments, everybody!

Pablo Villalobos, thats a good thought, she
Should have been doing that(recording the threat) while miss thing was spittin out the threats, but I guess you can't Think of everything. Besides we know she Got hot Ricardo on the brain.

Jarifa, this was an awesome read, thank you for your hard work. Once again I hope like I'm missing part of the story, the episode I watched felt chopped.

As I mentioned yesterday, Esperanza sure is a different type of protagonista - I mean, look at us, debating who her baby daddies are - and yes, more than one father and neither is the true love of her life. I loved all your input on the subject, this certainly gives us something different to talk about.
Her speech to Pedro about how she thinks about a guy she broke up with 20 years before seemed rather strange and inappropriate. She seems stuck in the past, even if she did have actual relationships with two guys after him. Sure, IT IS Cristian de la Fuente, and who could ever forgive him, but come on! And to say "yeah, I loved your dad, but yada yada yada..." It is a refreshing change, though, so I don't mind it that much.

I don't mind the Osorio kid (who has lost a ton of weight, btw), let's see how they portray him later on. Even if he's not that great of an actor, he does get to play a lot of different parts so, as they say, practice makes perfect, right? Nepotism, that's true, but if he grows up to be a somewhat handsome guy, he has protagonista written all over his face, so we might as well learn to leave with it or ban Osorio from our viewing routines ( which we always say we will, but look at us, always crawling back for more).

Glad to see that Pato Luca is in the clear to date. Ernesto actually caring about his step son speaks rather well about him. And Luca did say that he's a good guy. I wonder if Ernesto didn't actually have a valid reason to stay away, like a threat to Espe and the baby's life... Who knows, he's treating Adrian horribly, so Pato didn't lose much anyway.

When will they give Osvaldo de Leon a prota part? After La Malquerida I thought that was the next step for him, but his next parts, this included, seem like a step back.

...."we might as well learn to LIVE with it"....
Sorry, fast typing, I didn't edit my first post.

That redhead Kristel belongs in the Fierro family.

FIERRO FAMILY

Harley Granmother who likes the motorcycle
Principal of the rich kid-s school
Her husband is the architect or something like that, Osvaldo-s boss
Kristel the oldest daughter
Salma the youngest who is in love with Adrian, who is in love with Estrella Gallo

Jarifa, thanks so much for this. I watched last night but could not follow a lot of what was happening; it was so choppy and random.

Ernesto is such a weirdo. He sees them about to kiss, watches Pato think that they are siblings, and stands there grinning? And lets her keep thinking that? He is all kinds of shady and his Rooster Hannigan facescaping only enhances the skeeviness.

The street dancing was awful. Stick to your day jobs, kids.

I also hate the bit of Pedro harassing Kristel. UGH. She's not interested; leave her alone. Don't assume that she really likes it or that she'll love you once she knows you, just LEAVE HER ALONE. Bugging her until she gives in is not romantic, it's creepy. Don't be a creep, Pedro. I hate this message in shows; that if YOU are interested, you're entitled to someone's attention.

The only reason I keep getting sucked in to Osorio's shows is that he keeps hiring some of my favorite actors. I love Cristian de la Fuente and Osvaldo de Leon. I find this leading lady appealing too, though I don't think I've seen her before. I think I'd like her better if she weren't being forced to be so campy.

If Kristel is the principal's daughter, why did she just show up as a new kid and not in uniform?

Isn't she like too old to be studying anything?

If she's like most of these kids seem, she probably needs remedial classes. She probably got to university and couldn't get her grades changed by her mom anymore and couldn't keep up and had to go back to prepa.
