Sueño de amor #36 Wednesday 4/27/16

So, here we are just waiting to see what happens after Tracy has told Ernesto his kids need to see him as a hero to gain their affection.

Pato talks to Kristel at the school cafeteria. Kristel tells her about what is happening at home and that her mother is being thrown out of the house. She looks upset even if she knows her mother deserves it. They get up to get some coffee and suddenly Pedro is there. Before anyone can say anything much, Ara steps up to protect her interest in Pedro in a a new "punk" costume mouthing off to Kristel about how Pedro is HER boyfriend. Kristel gets the message loud and clear and starts to laugh which just incenses Ara more. Félix comes by (announced by his whistle) and is not impressed by Ara's new look. He tells her he is writing her up and she is to report straight away to detention. Pato turns a second to check a text on her phone and someone covers her eyes. It turns out to be jerky Vicente from her weekend at Harvard. He has missed her and so just appeared in the hallway of her school. His life has no meaning without her. He has brought her a lollipop shaped like a heart. He grabs her by her arm when she tells him to get lost. He will never let her go. She warns him not to touch her again. (She should have hauled off and hit him up side the head the first time,) Creepy. He is very much a stalker.

Luca finishes signing all of the papers to take over his mother's shares at the company in the board room. Everyone applauds. He reminds everyone that the most important capital of the company are its workers. They--especially the women-- should have the best working conditions that ensure their well being, equity and justice.

At school, Ricardo is back teaching the little kids. Another musical number. Ricardo is teaching the times tables with a song. They all sing together. Félix is listening bopping along with the music out in the hall. He downplays the effectiveness of using a song to teach when Esperanza comes on by and catches him.

At the company, Ernesto stops by to see Luca who is now in his office. Luca has not forgotten his latest run in with Ernesto. Luca treats him as a stranger and asks how he can help him.

At school in the auditorium, Ricardo and Esperanza are giving a demo of a lovey dovey scene from the musical they will be casting. Students are waiting to audition. In the middle of all of this, Ricardo gets a call. He has to go to USA to finalize the divorce. In the meantime, Félix arrives all happy thinking that he has caught them fraternizing. Esperanza has to explain about the audition demo for the musical he has just witnessed. Whoopsie. Ricardo leaves. The nanny will take care of the kids. Esperanza is not left alone since Félix stays taking roll as well as Margarita. Astrid and Kiko are the first to audition.

Back at the company, Ernesto blames his actions on Luca thing his mother's side. Luca tells Ernesto the only thing he wants is for Ernesto to be far away from him. He will be supporting his mother in everything. He will also be making some changes in human resources. He and Adrián will be going to live in an apartment with their mother. Ernesto is upset and acknowledges that he owes his life to Luca because of the kidney transplant. He will never forget that. He loves Luca. He apologizes for betraying him with Anastasia. Ernesto says that Viviana had had something to do with one of his friends and that it wasn't until many years later he found out that Luca was not his own son. He continued loving him in spite of all that. Then we have flash back time in silhouette showing how much he loved Luca ever since he was a baby. Ernesto says he will sign whatever Luca's mother wants. He will be a better father for Adrián. He begs for a chance to make it all up to Luca. Sounds like he will do just about anything not to lose Luca.

Back at the auditorium, Adrián and Salma are having a go at the audition. Estrella can't take watching them and excuses herself to go to the bathroom. Margarita and Félix are sitting together. Margarita is flirting with him. At the end of the scene, Salma kisses Adrián hard on the lips. He complains that the kiss was not in the script. She does not care.

Ricardo tells his kids at his home that he can't be there tonight because he has to go to work first and then to LA to get the divorce papers finalized and see about the sale of the house. They cannot come with because there is school tomorrow and the nanny will take them to school tomorrow. He calms their fears about what the divorce will do to their circumstances.

Silvana meets with Tracy in her office. Sounds like a pity party. Tracy mentions her divorce. Silvana says that will make two of them and tells her that Mario is going to divorce her and her mother is throwing her out of her house. Don Gonzalo the president of the school board is calling. Silvana takes the call.

Ricardo is at the super duper secret agent headquarters. He is questioning a poor fool named Ivanovich, who is wanted in 20 countries, as to what he knows about Maximiliano/La Sombra. He threatens him with turning him over to the international tribunals. Ivanovich is suddenly motivated to tell him that Maximiliano told him he had to go see Ricardo's two children. No more to say. He and Ricardo did have a deal.

Rodrigo skypes with his pal Homero and fills him in on what is happening with him with the divorce, etc. When they are done talking, Homero sees a news report on tv about Ivanovich and La Sombra. His brother quickly turns off the tv. Their Granny is crying. She cannot be quiet anymore, (so she and Homero's bro just make things worse): they tell Homero that the boys' father did not just disappear: he is La Sombra.

At Ernesto's office, he is grilling Tracy wanting to know everything she knows about La Sombra. All she can say is that Ricardo has been chasing him for years. Not good enough. Ernesto tells her they had a pact. She needs to find out all she can about La Sombra amd give him the info. On the way out, Tracy runs into Viviana. Viviana gives Tracy a heads up: be careful with Ernesto. He is capable of destroying her.

Pato arrives at her house. Kristel is with her. She finds another note from Vicente and a big stuffed teddy bear. She wonders how he got her address. Kristel wants to know if Pato told Luca about Vicente pursuing her. Pato does not want to bother Luca who has enough of his own problems.

Ricardo asks Pedro to accompany him in the taxi to the airport so they can talk. Ricardo has a favor to ask of him. It is a secret. They don't tell us what it is but Pedro tells Ricardo he is on it. It has something to do with Esperanza of course.

Kristel runs into Pedro as she is leaving Pato's house and they are impactados when they see each other.

Viviana has come to the construction company to get Ernesto to sign the divorce agreement. She is sure he will have problems with what she is asking for. He says he will sign it as is.

Ricardo calls Esperanza from his hotel in LA. She is at home. Tomorrow he will be a free man. She warns him that because of the kids Tracy will never be gone. He does not care. Nothing will ever break up him and Esperanza.

At Ricardo's house, the nanny gets a call from La Sombra. The nanny is working for La Sombra. She will assist/set up the attack on Ricardo's children.

Back at the construction company, Ernesto is following through on what he told Luca and trying to make things right with Adrián. Adrián compares how he has treated Luca and him. Ernesto tells him he loves him. He is just raising him as his father raised him. He has problems expressing his emotions. He tells Adrián he will listen to him and he does. Adrián is confused and does not know if he can believe him. Ernesto has an idea, he will change how he expresses his emotions and then Adrián can let down his guard and allow them to get closer. Adrián has things to do and he leaves.

Ricardo is still talking to Esperanza. It turns out La Sombra has two children. They will just have to make list of students with just one sibling. Back to romance: he loves her more than when he met her 20 years ago. The phone call ends. Pato loudly and suddenly appears. Esperanza asks her for help with the casting lists. Looks like the best actors for the main couple would be Adrián and Salma. The villain would be Estrella. Just the opposite of real life but Esperanza really wants to avoid causing more problems with the real life triangle. Pato suggest that Félix and Margarita help make the decision.

At Erasmo's house, Adrián is visiting with Estrella. Kiko is there, too. Salma, at the same time, is eating and talking with a friend about how much she lobes Adrián and about how lately she just wants to eat all day long. Adrián tells Estrella that it has always been only her for him; nobody else ever. Rstrella cannot stand Slma and is thinking of not even participating in the musical because of her. Adrián reiterates he likes her not Salma. What does he have to do to prove that Estrella tells him he just has to ignore that hateful thing called Salma. Adriân is elated with her now that he now knows what he has to do and all is good with her.

Ernesto signs the divorce papers without any argument or comment. The only thing he cares about are his kids. Viviana reminds him he also cares about Esperanza who just happens to be in love with Ricardo. Viviana is happy to get her life back without Ernesto. Viviana leaves in such a good mood that even Mario notices it as they run into each other in the hall. She is in search of peace. He wishes her the best. Sorry but she just has to tell him how bad he looks. He tells her about money problems, kid problems and getting a divorce. He is all clumsy as he goes in to his office. Viviana just laughs.

Ara is with Pedro at a café. He asks what is wrong. Nothing is wrong. She is sick of him asking her the same thing over and over. He tells her she is not okay, she is tense. She wants him to leave her in peace already. It just isn't working. That is the problem: He simply does not understand anything. Better to leave it at that. It is over. Ara leaves. Pablo is left confused.

At the Guerrero house, Pato has on a beautiful dress. She is going out with Luca. He comes to pick her up with a huge bouquet of flowers. Creepy Vicente is watching them parked across the street in an ugly yellow car.

So many plots, so little time!

It was not surprising that the nanny is the La Sombra plant. She has had her shady looking moments. So how long before Ricardo's kids are in imminent danger

Considering the real life triangle between Adrián, Estrella and Salma, Estrella could actually think of casting the show pitting Salma and Estrella against each other and putting even more stress on Adrián? Just what he needs. As previously mentioned. Too bad they are making Esperanza suddenly stupid.

Just thinking of all of the "Gallo" kids Erasmo, Estrella, Enrique: all of their initials are EG sounds like "egg". They must have done that on purpose.

Terrible decision by Granny Josefa telling Homero his father is La Sombra. He is way too young for that info.

CORRECTION: 2nd P: Esperanza could actually think . . .

Looks like the "Pasión y Poder" 3 hr. finale extravaganza starts after "Sueño de amor" mañana.

This was excellent, Jarifa! Thanks ever so much! Is it just me or did every musical number/horror of this show happen on an episode you had to recap? You are taking way too many for the team, and for that I'm doubly grateful to you! :D

I knew it! There was something dodgy about that babysitter! Round 2 of "let's endanger the hijos" starts in 3, 2, 1.

¿Qué pex with Aranza? What's up with that girl? She was dying to become Pedro’s girlfriend and now that she is, she treats him like crap then breaks up with him! The actor playing Pedro finds himself in the role of a confused horny teenager stuck between two unstable drama queens. Hmmmm... I wonder why this sounds familiar.

"Pasión y Poder" is ending tomorrow and I will be inconsolable! I will have to say goodbye once and for all to my favorite ratchet drama and to my sexy beast Eladio Gómez Luna! I've already seen the Mexico broadcast and I know what's going to happen but I was rewatching últimos with my PyP Patio Pals because I just refuse to let go. I don't know what'll do with my life after tomorrow. I'll have to dial down on the procrastination, read more and do more work. ¡Ay, no! ¡Qué horror! Why can't I get paid for watching novelas and surfing the web?

Nice observation on the EG (egg) initials for the rooster kids. I noticed something when they were calling out the names for the auditions: Kiko's full last name is Gallo Blanco (White Rooster).

Have a great day, everyone! :)

Ahh Jarifa, this was great fun! Thank you for your most excellent recap.

"Sounds like a pity party" - yes, it certainly did! Sil and Tracy - perfect participants, don't you think?

I especially liked your insightful comments "Considering the real life triangle between Adrián, Estrella and Salma, Estrella could actually think of casting the show pitting Salma and Estrella against each other and putting even more stress on Adrián?" Totally agree! This isn't the time to cast against type. This has disaster written all over it. Of course, if Salma is pregnant, this would mirror the "real life" situation of Estrella coming between Adrian and Salma.

And, of course you were spot on with "Terrible decision by Granny Josefa telling Homero his father is La Sombra. He is way too young for that info". Yes, what on earth was she thinking??

"Kristel runs into Pedro as she is leaving Pato's house and they are impactados when they see each other". OK, Pedro is a cute kid but really, preferring him over the perfect Erasmo? As the robot from Lost in Space used to say "it does not compute".

"He has problems expressing his emotions". Umm, really Ernesto? It appears to me that you had absolutely no difficulty verbally abusing and physically manhandling Adrian his entire life!?

Nandicta, enjoyed your "The actor playing Pedro finds himself in the role of a confused horny teenager stuck between two unstable drama queens".

Jarifa, you have made my day! Thank you.

Diana

Thanks for the detailed recap.

I don't know much about school plays but, are they competing against some other school or is this just to skip classes? Why are the two schools competing against each other? Why are they mixing all the kids together? I know is just another filler to make this broth even fatter, but I don't see this adding much to the plot, like that Agata thing, how is that good for the story?

Don't tell me now that Kristell got that confusion thing from her father who is now ''falling'' for both Felicia and Viviana!!

Sorry, I meant, ''why are not the two schools competing against each other''

Nandicta: Gallo Blanco. Funny! Maybe "details" like these will help carry us to the end.

Diana, I so agree about the preference for Pedro over Erasmo. "It does not compute".

Pablo, maybe Kristel did inherit that trait from Mario. He is like the legendary kid in the candy store: he does not know who to grab first.

Jajaja! Imagine being at a buffet after a hunger strike!

Good one, Pablo.

Thanks, Jarifa! I appreciate the recaps. The retellings and the comments really turn a whole lot of WTF into Wasn't That Fun?

Clearly Ernesto took his talking points from some quicky magazine article about relationship problems. He does not have any trouble at all expressing his emotions. The problem is that his only emotions are greed, anger, and jealousy.

The loving scene with baby Luca was a bit of a diversion/another dimension to his character, though. I mean, aside from abusing his wife and younger son and ignoring his daughter for 17 years and sleeping with Esperanza without telling her he was married and trying to ruin Ricardo's life and paying his employees starvation wages and encouraging Tracy's hostilities, Ernesto isn't really that bad. Shave off that villain mustache and it'd be hard to distinguish him from Ricardo.

I find it hard to believe that Silvana would ever agree to do a joint play with the Musturds. But also, Esperanza, it's a school play. No one is looking for Oscar quality acting here. Don't set up the war that would ensue from casting Adrian, Salma, and Estrella in those roles.

Okay, I liked Vicente when he was only bugging Luca, but he's a real genuine CREEP. Yikes. I hope Pato found that innocent bear a good home, though. Why would he ever think she'd want a giant bear? Does anyone who is not a small child want a giant bear? It would take up half your room!

I also felt sorry for those experienced older employees at the constructora, having to listen to Saint Luca's cheesy pep talk and take him seriously as their boss. He's a young dolt who's dating a girl still in prepa! He thinks throwing himself off a roof to freak her out is a good idea! He does not belong at the head of a company! But I'm sure he will run it perfectly. I hope Erasmo finishes school and ends up running that company by the end of the series.

Julia, "Shave off that villain mustache and it'd be hard to distinguish him from Ricardo." Ha! Ha!
