Sueno de Amor #53 Friday Sometimes it takes a village...
.... or a great team of commenters to write a recap.
After having tried yesterday afternoon and almost all day today (it's 6 pm my time), I finally give up. I cannot find a usable link to watch the episode, so I have no clue what happened. Therefor I'm not capable of writing a worthy recap, or any recap for that matter.
I'm annoyed and very sorry to let you all down, but the one link that I could open starts buffering after 17 seconds, so...
The Univision site says that Esperanza is afraid that the cancer is going to kill her... This is all I've got!

A big thank you to Diana, Pablo and Jarifa for stepping in and writing down what you remember from watching. I'm adding your comments to the main post, this way whoever checks this down the line will have a recap (I tried to do a little bit of editing, for continuity).
In a strange scene, we see the legs of a woman in sneakers lovingly stroke a picture of a little girl and then take off for a run. We don't see her face but I'm fairly certain it was Marjorie...then as Ricardo is out for his daily constitutional, a critter scampers across the path so that Ricardo and "this woman" collide. He kind of smiles and rolls his eyes and takes off. I sort of felt Esperanza's future (short future) has now been sealed. We, and she, deserved much more.
Chance (aka the writers) forced Ricardo to have an accidental encounter with Cristina Vález Valderrama, the firewoman of education who is always called when a school is in crisis to improve the level of education and the polls and blah, blah, blah...
Kiko, Erasmo and Estrella are in church, praying. We don't know if they are praying to VDLP or the Black Christ beside her. I have no idea what Kiko is saying (as Erasmo looked deadly serious), but my eyes welled up. That child may well be the best thing Osario ever created...
In a very violent scene, Ernesto had Anastasia in a hotel room. She thought she was in for a tryst but Ernesto nearly strangled her with his belt and threatened her to leave Pato alone. It was disturbing, particularly as the actress seemed to literally turn purple during the choking.
Esperanza has cancer and while she was very upset about Pato's engagement, Ernesto is happy, he wants grandkids already!! PatoLuca and him celebrate with champagne.
Pedro calls Pato and while talking to Pedro, Luca and Ernesto can not but overhear EVERYTHING!!
Kracy will not allow her kids to attend the wedding but Ricardo insists.
He also tells the kids that La Sombra is going to be in jail the rest of his life. Sure, until he escapes is my best bet. They better not do "El Chapo" tunnel routine like in AMQL.
Turn out, the gift Viviana gave Salma was some cream for the stretchmarks. Adrián was born weighting 9 pounds and this cream is fa-bu-lous!!
Esperanza LIES AND MAKES EVERYBODY AROUND HER DO THE SAME, just to not burst Ricardo's bubble if he knows she has cancer. I am waiting for the results of the biopsy to come back on Esperanza's wedding day!!! I feel sorry for Pato and Pedro expecting to shoulder the " secret" burden of a woman who does not believe in secrets unless she wants a secret. She should not be surprised if Ricardo is angry. I would be.
When he gets home with sugar free churros and light chocolate milk, he shows Esperanza the video of his kids room, because he bugged it. Esperanza finally finds the time to pray to VDLP hoping her cancer to go away.
According to Pato, Esperanza's mother Silvia died from cancer which was the show's attempt to remind us that cancer can be hereditary. Please no more health PSA's. I see tv watching as an opportunity to escape reality.

Such luck!
Yesterday I was outside fixing the roof of the porch and lost track of time. By the time I got inside the theme song was playing and I thought, well, is not like I am missing sunday mass, and besides, the recaps are always way better than the episode, so I am actually like the dog with the two SUBWAY sandwiches, for the first 20 minutes at least.
From the second 20 minutes they spread between commercials I remember Pato givind the Alegría kids a SUBWAY SANDWICH that they didn't even open and/or chew, then the ex Menudo guy from Despierta América with yet another SUBWAY commercial and then ANOTHER ONE!!! (the deja vu one where the guy goes everyday before 9am to get the 2x1 offer).
So, no, we didn't miss anything and hopefully Esperanza Guerrero Diez (dies) before she gets married!!

Hi Adriana Noel, thank you for trying so hard to watch the episode! Thank you for your efforts.
I readily admit I don't know Esperanza's health situation...I don't know if she does has cancer or not (?) I kept hearing the word...Unfortunately, she spent a lot of time clutching her stomach in obvious agony.
I believe she told her kids Ricardo is not to be told. That drove me crazy! Why should her children be worried sick and Ricardo go along, clueless (oh wait, that would mean it's like every other day, right?)

The Ernesto /Anastasia scene was something else. She was expecting one thing and almost got choked to death instead.
As usual, abortion is not even being discussed as a viable option especially in the case of a fourteen year old.
Ricardo telling the kids La Sombra is going to be in jail the rest of his life. Sure, until he escapes is my best bet. They better not do "El Chapo" tunnel routine like in AMQL.

Why did not anybody call the police?????

I sure hope Cristina just runs right into her new office and gives us some levity from the "vale of tears" (I know I have used that expression before) we have been in and will continue to be in for a while.

Agree Jarifa, that wouldn't surprise me at all. Recently, Eduardo Santamarina's character did just that in Antes muerta que Lichita. I mean Ricardo needs something to do, right?
And of course Nina your comments on why Espe is keeping things from Ricardo make perfect sense. "This is her future hubby. If she has the big "c"why keep it from him?" He'll know anyway when she dies". It makes me a bit sad that we all feel Esperanza won't survive..

Nina, technology is awful sometimes! I always feel like I'm spending half my life on the computer, and when it fails me... tragedy (almost, anyway).
Jarifa, Espe is something else, right? She preaches about always telling the truth,but the first chance she gets, she tells a big lie to her future hubby.
I checked out Erasmo the other day - the guy is turning creepy, you're all correct. Why the change?
Can we call BINGO on this, too? Hiding a serious illness to spare a loved one's feelings. (roll eye). What's next, will she dump Ricardo and hook up with Ernesto to keep him away and disgusted, just in time for Cristina to come and charm the despecho out of him?
Diana, I'm liking young Osorio, too. He has one of the more interesting stories, but if the writers are actually planning to go for a Salma-Kiko pairing - QTH!!!
Pablo, I'm tired with Savior Cristina and we haven't even seen her. All the characters talk about her as if she were the second coming or something. Can she show up already??

I love how our bits and pieces came together to make a full, coherent summary! Unlike the show itself I say laughingly...
At first, I was scratching my head at the mere thought of Salma and Kiko. Together. But, after I thought about it, Kiko is kind and grounded. Pretty much everything Salma is not.
Now isn't it TN "law" that children in these situations usually end up with either their parents or grandparents? I certainly can't see Salma and Adrian raising their child. Adrian would be barely ahead of the baby in terms of maturity and stability (I love the character but a child shouldn't raise a child). I know that Vivi raised two children but I wouldn't be totally comfortable with her raising the baby (maybe she and Mario?). Notice I'm not even bringing up Sil. Ack. It will be very interesting to see what happens.
I'm anxious about Esperanza. I don't want her to die...I'm hoping Cristina will have a parallel storyline of her own (?) Yeah, I'm not really believing a word that I'm typing but I am going to try and be optimistic till we find out.

I don't understand the mystery.
We know all we need to know about CVV, saw the actress in the credits and still hasn't showed up. Maybe the writers are still trying to ease her presence as not too forced into a story already in progress. If she answers the phone and goes down where the mortals are her relationship with Ricardo had to start differently than lets say, we already know she's been wanted but she is rejecting everything to do with work, she jogs, she lost her kid, she had an encounter with Ricardo, and probably from here to episode 80 they will finally met and say, hey, we bumped into each other when we saw the squirrel, remember, come to my arms, mua, mua...I love you, let me give you this engagement ring and I will be back in 20 years! Around episode 130 or so...
I remarked Esperanza's figure, because I don't know who hate her so much to make her look slim and gorgeous with some of those tight skirts one size down hers, and then, when se supposed to ook good, she looks like a ''tamal mal fajado'' bad wrapped tamal.

Sorry to hear you had trouble finding a link that works. I second that. I had trouble watching episodes 50, 51, 52 and 53. A lot more trouble than usual. It took me forever to eventually find just a single link that worked. In fact, it's been a while now that SdA episodes online are getting systematically deleted. They're making such a fuss about it, as if someone were actually watching this porquería. I mean, fair enough, it's their show and all, but, really, how else would I watch any telenovela, if the Televisa and Univision website videos don't play in my geographical region and BLIM (Televisa's Netflix of TNs) can't be contracted outside of Mexico.
Anyhoo, sorry I'm late to the party, the EHDLS finale took priority this weekend, but I echo your sentiment about Cristina Whatchmacallit. Stop the dumb suspense! We know it's Marjorie de Sousa, we see her in the opening credits crying and hugging the picture of that kid! Enough already! We got to see her hands, legs, buttocks, back, back of her head,... It's like the least fun teasing reveal ever! And what about her bumping into Ricardo in the park? Was that supposed to be their meet-cute? It's anything but cute! Awful! Just awful! Is she giggling? Is she sobbing? Is she mentally deranged? (I really want to know. What did you guys think that noise coming out of her mouth was? Hysterical tears? Nervous laughter? What was that?). Oh well...

"Mentally deranged?" Maybe! Too funny! It sounded weird. Is that how they wanted it to sound? Seriously depressed about something with her chikd then whatever that sound was?
