New Telenovela: Tres Veces Ana, Starts Monday, May 23rd

Recappers are needed for this telenovela which starts Monday, May 23rd in the 9 pm time slot. A few of you have now expressed interest in recapping-- let Blog Mom Jane/Melinama know and email her ASAP: caray@mappamundi.com

**News flash: as of 5/21, Uni has once again changed its mind about the fate of Yago, and it is supposedly no longer moving to the graveyard shift on UniMas. I have no idea what will happen to A Que No Me Dejas. During its first week, Tres Veces Ana will be shown in 2 hour blocks, 9pm-11pm. After that, it will be on at 9pm and Yago on at 10pm. This schedule is changing almost daily, so stay alert.

The story of "Tres Veces Ana" starts with a family road trip—the Álvarez del Castillo Rivadeneira family. Triplets Ana Laura, Ana Leticia and Ana Lucía, along with their parents, suffer a dramatic car accident, crashing by the side of a river. The event leaves both parents dead, Ana Laura losing one leg, and Ana Lucía dragged by the river’s current. Only Ana Leticia emerges unscathed. Soledad, a woman who is mourning her own daughter’s death, finds and helps Ana Lucía. Although Soledad discovers who the girl is, she takes advantage of Ana Lucía’s memory loss about the accident and her family and decides to keep her, making her believe she is her mother.

Despite everyone declaring Ana Lucía dead, Ernestina (Susana Dosamantes), the triplets' grandmother, and Mariano (Ramiro Fumazoni), their uncle, do not give up and do everything they can to find Ana Lucía. But as the years go by, they lose hope of finding her. Ana Laura is the only one who never loses hope. She has turned into a beautiful young woman with a good heart, but also solitary due to her disability. Ana Leticia, on the other hand, is an extortionist and ambitious woman who does not want her sister back at all, as this would mean further splitting her inheritance, as well as the love and attention of everyone around her, including her uncle Mariano, whom she loves in a sick way.

Tres Veces Ana Promo Video #1

CAST:

Ana Lucía (Angelique Boyer): The most noble and generous of the triplets- a happy young woman who lost her memory after the accident her family suffered. She grows up believing Soledad is her mother, but suffers from nightmares with three mysterious little girls.

Ana Leticia (Angelique Boyer): Unlike her sisters, she is capricious, envious, and needs to be the center of attention. She uses her beauty and sexuality to get what she wants.

Ana Laura (Angelique Boyer): The most introverted of the triplets, which becomes even more pronounced after she loses her leg. She is very insecure, despite having the full support of her family. She rejects the love of Ramiro because she doesn’t believe she is worthy of him, because of her disability.

Marcelo Salvaterra (Sebastián Rulli) is handsome, intelligent, and has a big heart. He married Ana Leticia without imagining the kind of woman she really is. He is a skillful investigator who is about to find Ana Lucía, so Ana Leticia arranges to have him killed. He survives this attempt with the help of Remedios (Ana Bertha Espín). He has amnesia and she gives him a new name-- Santiago García. His only memory is of a woman’s face, and when he recognizes that face in Ana Lucía, he falls in love with her.

Ramiro Fuentes (David Zepeda) is the son of the administrator of the Álvarez del Castillo Rivadeneira’s fortune. He is handsome as well as hardworking, honest and a good lawyer. He knows Ana Laura and Ana Leticia well-- he is in love with the first one and disregards the second one. Even though Edmundo, his father, opposes his relationship with Ana Laura, Ramiro is ready to defy his father to marry the woman he loves, whom he fully supports, and of whom he is very proud.

Iñaki (Pedro Moreno) is a very ambitious and unscrupulous man. He looks down on Javier, his brother, and especially on Tadeo, his father, who work for the Danzaire Company. He can’t stand poverty and tries to move out of it at any cost. He starts working in Mariano’s real estate agency and he meets Ana Leticia there. He immediately feels attracted to her, but she rejects him. However, he learns one of her dark secrets, uses this information to blackmail her, and then becomes her accomplice and lover.

Soledad (Blanca Guerra): A humble, single mother, with a strong character. Days after losing her young daughter, she finds a three-year-old girl drowning in the river. She rescues the girl and nurses her back to health. She later learns the little girl has a family, but motivated by her great fear of being alone, she keeps the child to fill the emptiness left by her dead daughter. She dedicates herself body and soul to raising and educating Ana Lucía, who grows up believing Soledad is her mother. Soledad lives with the constant fear that her lie will be discovered.

Evaristo (Eric Del Castillo): A man who seems trustworthy, but in reality is ambitious and cruel. He works as an investigator in Marcelo’s agency, and although he has known Ana Lucía her whole life and knows where she lives, he does not tell Marcelo. Instead, he accepts money from Ana Leticia to betray Marcelo.

Comments:
If anyone wants to recap this telenovela, please let Jane know. This is a remake of the 1995 telenovela, Lazos de Amor, which starred Lucero as the triplets.

I'm looking forward to this one but I'm really going to miss Hotel. My TV listing has it at 8:00 CT and Yago moving to 9:00 CT. Thanks Vivi for the story outline.

Bluejean24- Thanks for that info. It does look as if Uni will switch the time slots between 3xAna and Yago. Also, on its premier night on Monday the 23rd, 3xAna will be on for two hours, 9-11pm, and Yago will be preempted.

Well, darn, hate them moving Yago to 10! Boo!!!!

I am giving Ana a try, but worry that it's either going to work and be interesting, or be a disaster: no wiggle room. Already know Boyer and Rulli have insane chemistry, but I am not a Zepeda fan. So how much of each Ana do we get may tell the tale for me on the enjoyment factor and if I stick with it. Anyone know how many episodes or is this a figure it out as we go? (I'm getting spoiled with these short amazing TN's we've been getting.)

Daisynjay

I think Yago was the 10pm plan all along but 3XA got delayed so they needed something to fill the 9pm slot after PyP went off the air.

Ana Leticia is giving me shades of Teresa so I will check it out.

Thank you, Vivi, for posting the synopsis and character introduction for "Tres Veces Ana". I'm afraid I'll take a pass on this one. I'm not watching it and I wish Angelli Nesma would just leave Carla Estrada's work alone.

Good luck, recappers and viewers! Have your supply of reinforced beanies ready! :D

Daisynjay- I have not heard how long this one will be.

Nandicta- I'm not planning on recapping this one, but I'll watch the first few episodes to see how it starts off. If it doesn't capture my interest, I won't feel bad not watching it. I was hoping that Yago was staying on at 9pm, so that I can start getting to bed earlier. Oh, well!

If no one volunteers to recap, then this one won't get a regular post on the blog. We've got enough troubles filling the recapping slots for Yago, Sueno de Amor, and Camino. As far as I can tell, none of those are fully covered by recappers for each day.

Thanks for posting this, Vivi. I see we've got two cases of amnesia just in the synopsis. Is that a bad sign?

I am not at all happy about the time slot change for Yago.

Julie- LOL! Yes, already two cases of amnesia just in the synopsis means we will be getting a (un)healthy does of telenovela cliches in this one. Cliches are ok, if they are done well. That's what this one has to prove it can do.

Gracias for the synopsis Vivi. I won't have time at all to watch 3x Ana or Las Amazonas. I really dread the slot change of Yago. Why do all the good shows get pushed away to the 10 pm netherworld? Forgive me for ranting, I am still pissed off about Person of Interest getting dropped grrr.

I might just watch for Ana Leticia but I can't stand Zepeda.

God damn , why did the memory loss cliche come back? Doesn't Ana Bertha Espin ever get tired of potraying the mother figure for Rulli's characters?

I am not sold on Erick Castillo potraying a villian.

Thank you for the synopsis, Vivi. I was very excited when this was first advertised because I thought it was about multiple personality disorder- my favorite thing to watch or read about. I see it's not, but despite initial resistance to watching anything with Angelique Boyer because I didn't like her look, I thought she and Sebastian Rulli did a great job in Lo Que La Vida Me Robo. It turned out to be one of my favorite novelas (despite not liking the finale). I love Ana Bertha Espin- watched her in La Que No Podia Amar, LQLVMR, and Que Te Perdone Dios, and I loved Alejandro Avila in Porque El Amor Manda. They are my 2 favorite supporting actors. If this is well done, I anticipate enjoying it immensely.

Hi Julie!

Hi Bill!

Thanks for posting this, Vivi.

I know I will be watching this one. Never saw the original. I prefer telenovela comedies over dramas but do confess I loved LQLVMR because of the beautiful people, beautiful locale, beautiful clothes, the Toyota Tundra (?) and the absolutely over the top plot. I look forward to seeing Angelique Boyer, Ana Berta Espín, Sebastián Rulli, Carlos Mota and Eric del Castillo again. Hey, a plot with triplets has so many possibilities . . . ; )

Vivi: You're right about this one being a remake of "Lazos De Amor", I'm just hoping we don't get the same result with the horrible ending!

Thanks, Vivi. I plan on tuning in for this one because I am kind of fascinated by Rulli and Boyer ever since RObo. Sorry, Yahoo fans, but I am happy that this novela will be at 9. I get up at 5.30 weekdays, so a 0 pm show us too late for me. the plot sounds unbelievably confusing. I wonder how Angelique is going to keep her three times straight. oh well, I am telenovelaless right now except for my Scottish telenovela , so I will tune in next Monday. I miss my patio peeps. P.s. Where is Carla Estrada , and why won't she give us another historical novela? Boohooo

Susanlynn- Good to hear you'll be tuning in to this one. Unfortunately, it doesn't look like this will be recapped by Caray Caray. As for Outlander, I am loving the costumes this season! A feast for the eyes. :)

Seems like an awful lot of amnesia, even for a telenovela. But at least they're mixing up the twins thing with triplets this time!

Between Yago and Quien Es Quien, I'll probably be skipping this one. I couldn't even start the last El Senor. Two is the limit, unless the third is something like El Hotel that can't be missed. Looking forward to hearing what people think of this one though.

Kelly

Are there truly no recappers for this one at all? I'm not sure if I'm even going to watch this, but I sense that it will provide much to discuss for those who do watch it. I mean, come on. TRIPLETS. Two cases of amnesia. Even if it stinks (I'm not saying it will), it ought to be interesting.

I know some of you have considered recapping but are worried that it will eat up too much time. Most of us do spend a lot of time writing our recaps, but that's because we are seized by perfectionism and we end up wanting to cover every delicious detail and every interesting vocabulary word.

You don't have to do that. You really don't. You just watch an episode and then write up a BRIEF summary of what you've seen. If you miss something important, odds are someone will mention it in the comments. If there's a scene that you can't make any sense of, just say so, and again someone will probably fill it in as a comment. Sweet little details and exotic vocabulary - comments.

But if no one recaps anything at all, it's hard to get a discussion rolling - if we are even posting a discussion header.

Who wants to give it a shot?

Listen to Julie! :) Seriously, if you want to watch and discuss this tn, then jump in there and give recapping (even brief weekly ones) a try. But you have to speak up now if that's what you want to do.

Well Julie I am saddened too but there can be space for only few telenovelas. We don't have that many recappers to cover all of the shows, we don't even have 50 of them . The rest are either busy with other shows or tired out. We definetly need quite a bit of new willing blood.

I was thrilled that this was coming on at 9! Then, saddened because it won't be recapped.

I so appreciate the marvelous recappers that give so much of their time and effort. I realize folks are tired and/or unable to spend the time. Anita is recapping Destino singlehandedly (and doing a spectacular job).

I wish I could recap but working and keeping up with my life after my health issues is sapping every bit of energy I have.

If a discussion page is posted, I will gladly comment, but my Spanish is so poor I probably will not watch without the recaps. I will not be able to follow sufficiently to keep up with the story.

Thank you.

Diana

Where are my manners?

Vivi, thank you for the excellent summary. As Julie noted, triplets! Wow.

I like Boyer and Rulli and sure their chemistry will be something to behold.

Diana

I'm looking forward to this too, mainly because of the Boyer and Rulli chemistry. Its just sad that it wont be recapped.

All- See the updated note at the beginning of the post about the changing Uni lineup. Looks like 3xAna will be shown in 2 hour blocks for the first week or more. And Yago is moving to a new network.

I will be watching this one. Looks like good tn fodder. I wouldn't mind doing a 9 PM EST on a Friday. I won't be able to continue watching Yago.

Jardinera- It would be great if you could lead a recap team for this one. Just have to get some more people on board to recap. It does sound like a lot of people will be watching, so perhaps after a few days/weeks, there will be some willing recappers.

If someone else is willing to recap some days I'm willing to help, but, you should know my recaps are a day late. Usually I can't get them up till about 2 pm ET the next day and I don't have a blogger acct so I'd need someone else willing to post them. If somebody else is willing to work with me I'd be willing to take a day (maybe 2, though I hate to commit to that to start with in case 2 becomes 3, then I just might collapse)

Yipes! I almost forgot *eep* Thanks Vivi for the summary:)

I will be watching in any case and the time slot works pretty good for me, though I wouldn't mind it being later, oh well.

Sneaky2shoes- So good to hear from you. Jardinera might be interested in some recapping too, but hopefully someone else will also chime in.

Hi everyone! I will be watching this one and am willing to recap if needed.

Ria- This is great! Can you email me or Jane? Seems like you, Sneaky2Shoes and Jardinera might be interested in recapping. Sneaky2Shoes- Could you also contact me or Jane? I won't be recapping this one, so if one of you is really excited about this tn, I suggest taking on the role of recapping team captain and making a plan with your team.

We don't have a label for this tn, but I am happy to post a discussion space for the first episode tomorrow under the label "proximas." Then, if any enthusiastic potential recappers emerge, you can contact Jane and ask her to make a label and put it on the sidebar.

Hi Vivi! Sent you an email just now

Ria- I've just emailed you and Jane!

It wasn't ready yet and now they're doing 2-hour blocks? That is nuts. They could have increased the 8PM one for one week and shifted Yago to 10PM.

Just saw the promo and I think Angelique Boyer will do a helluva job on this one.

I must say, it feels like Univision is pressuring this production too much. Whatever way one might think of the remake right now, I feel like this show is being forced to rushing through what should be a careful filming and editing process just because the network is hungry for ratings and thinks the Boyer-Rulli couple will get them there. It'd be awful if that were the case, especially since Televisa was able to wait for the show and, as a result, we will get it much later in Mexico. I don't know what kind of deal Univision has with them that they can demand a production, which was previously said was not ready to air, to be aired early and two hours a day before Mexico.

I remember back when Lazos de Amor was airing here that the production was also very slow, because taping scenes with the same actress for three different roles takes time. I feel bad for Nesma and Boyer if they are indeed rushing through production.

Jarocha

Here is what I expect from this show:

Double amnesia
Unconfident characters
Boyer's fake tears
Sorrowful, suppressive and annoying mothers that kill braincells
Ana Bertha baking Rulli's pancakes
Rulli will hate Boyer at first but they will later fall in eternal love
Ape fights between cheesy people for blondes
Annoying ex girlfriends which become pregnant solely to torment us.
Machist, manipulative male lover. His presence will make us sick.
Epic fails will make our remotes fly
Someone will need extra kidneys
Baby thief!
Restraining order for the BSC EX
Grumpy, stupid parents/uncles which hear or see no evil till death parts
Terrible fashion choices
Someone will get a damaged face
Socially outcasted sister
Male's protagonist manly friend which deserves better
Random deaths that aren't deaths . The character's survival will defy logic , gravity and space-time.

Rushed finale
A kidnapping in the end
Big, overglorified bodas with lots of commercial breaks in between that contain ads of a new snoozer ( 3X Zepeda) .

Did I miss anything?

I guess I did miss something

Secrets are kept from children just because the parents can
Passing outs
Sexual violence
Laser eye looks
Iphones only used for ranting but never used to call an ambulance or to record someone doing bad deeds.
Product placement
Someone will burn a house without remorse
Ignored Abuelas with common sense
Old priest dying in strange circumstances
Horse incidents
Incurable diseases.
Pretending to be crippled just to get attention.
Pole Dancing which more inspires horror than lust.
5 minute praying scenes for no reason.

Based on the preview, we'll get aerial acrobatics instead of (or in addition to?) the pole dancing. That could delay a production, waiting for a leading lady to pick up that craft.

Count, I'm going to copy your list and check them off as they happen!

The Cirque du Soleil acrobatics looks interesting; AB is petite enough to make that work. do we know who's writing this?

Urban glad that you like my list :)

Here's some more:

Our lovers both have Bipolar. They will fight a lot but always come back to fight more.
Rulli has a best friend that deserves better . He does anything for Rulli including stalking but he is never reported
Doors are always open no matter the circumstances.
Daydreaming between showering
Flashback galore
Unused security feeds
Destroyed bottles
Condoms don't exist
Villians always win
Serenades
Peeking through windows
Suegro's from Hell

Vivi, Thanks for posting the plot summary and character descriptions. I am still making my way through LQLVMR on Hulu (42 chapters still to go!) The Caray,Caray! discussion from 2014 is helping me get through, although I want to retreat quite a bit to that patio. What a great on-going discussion that was!

I will have to check into the Tres Veces Ana forum now and then to see if I need to catch Team Sebastian, Angelique, Eric, etc. I imagine that I will miss them when the 200 episodes of LQLMR are finally over.

Great to see funny comments on what we can expect here. That patio might get crowded again.

Angelique was on a dance competition show a few years ago on UNi. She is a very good dancer , so I am looking forward to Cirque de lAngelique. ...and Rulli...what can I say. I remember his long haired blacksmith who lost Susana Gonzales to Fernando Colunga (Pirate Rick) in Pasion. I'm also looking forward to Ang juggling three personas.

I'll add one to CountxAlacran's list:

Doctors who provide important medical information to the patient's spouse or family, but don't bother to discuss the diagnosis with the actual patient.

I am looking forward to starting a new show and no longer being telenovelaless. I have been missing my patio peeps.

Count...for your list...cellphone throwing. Sergio sendelnis an Olympic level hurler of phones. Maybe RUlli will take up the sport.

Susanlynn- Good to see you here!

hi, Vivi. I am happy to be back. I am too intimidated to comment much on the very active Outlander sites. Caray is home for me, and I can stay up for the 9.oo timeslot. I wonder if Novelamaven, Judyb, tofie, and Carlos will join us. I miss Diva and Sara and wish that they would return.

Hey Patio Peeps,
I will be watching 3Veces Ana. Sounds good plus looks like the patio will be filled with great people as always. Plus, I love Rulli. I remember my Ale from LQLVMR could do no wrong. I was his #1 defender!

FYI even though I have never seen one episode of Yago, I have read every recap and I love it. I might start to actually watch since it will start to air after 3VA next week.

Hasta Pronto

I'm looking forward for this tonight. Looks like Angelique can handle the 3 characters from what i have seen in the promo. For her sake i hope this novela doesn't go over 150 capitulos.

And CountxAlacran your lists are what make the patio going.
also Looking forward to good music. Nesma novela always manages to score great music.
