Sueño de amor, Ep #52 (5.19.2016) Keeping up with the dreams that love for Lala products command!

I have a dream!

Viviana's dream

At the cereal clinic, mother and son promise each other they will fight this together. Her dream of love is that the three of them (I am guessing they're including Luca) will never get apart.
Looks like Adrián borrowed Salma's t-shirt, maybe because she doesn't need it anymore.

Salma's dream
Speaking of the devil, Salma shares with Kristel her dream of love and that doesn't include the shrimp-like fetus on the screen of her tablet (Look! it has eyes!). They watch a sonogram and the younger sister complaints about the situation she created herself. On the dark side, she is one of half a million teenagers that are pregnant in México right now, but if you look it at the bright side, she can take her kid to her quinceañera as one of the chambelanes!

Mario's dream
His dream is that his unrequited love for Viviana blossom in a full gilf relationship.
He is so confundido and more when he tries to tell his daughters and Salma's hormones make her feel unwanted. He assures her that he loves both equally and then she is happy to be included and now the club has four and a quarter members. Granny, pops, the girls and the fetus. Imagine if Viviana ties the gordian knot with Mario and becomes both Salma's stepmother and mother in law! Wow, and including PatoLuca in this mix this will make a very twisted family tree!!

Luca's dream is not the same as Pato's
Asking her with 17 letters if she wanted to be his girlfriend, has changed to only 14 with would you marry me, but is not doing the counting what has Pato confundida too.
They play the ''push and pull'' a little while making time for the Lala cheese commercial to kick in but she finally was the one getting on her knees and proposed him!

Erasmo's dream
Add one more to the confundido's list, because Erasmo has joined the club and became príncipe confundido. Now he is thinking a lot about Pato, but when he gets home with good news for his little roosters the nest is empty. Where could they be?

Esperanza's dream

Esperanza's life continues to slide down since Ricardo is back. She loves him and everything, but it's not resulting as worth it as she thought. What was she thinking?
The thing is that when PatoLuca call her to tell her the good news about the engagement she seems cold and distant. Mapa doesn't love the idea of this two getting married and she gets all ''pato'' when the happy couple gets home.

Kiko's dream
Kiko's dram is to write on Salma's already smudged page. While Erasmo is at home counting the 10,000 in one dollar bills and some quarters, Kikella is with Nálgara, trying to see the love of his life. Wow! At least he is 12 going on 13, when Salma is 14 and pregnant. One year difference is nothing, have you seen the couple Margarita-Félix? She's like 80 going on 90!
Juárever!
Nandicta was so right about all this PEAM copy and paste homage, because Kiko gave Salma an origami frog. And she thought was original. Not so original, because he gave the same origami figure to Valentina in PEAM, where he was also Kiko and danced The Gallito feliz song (Is this still recycling or is fixation with the Kiko, the Gallo?)
I am sure grandma obvious already detected that what Kiko feels for Salma is 100% pure love. BTW, Erasmo just called, tomorrow is the surgery. Get ready to wear those shoes off!

Barón, Elegancia y distinción, para toda ocasión

Ricardo's dreams
Are several, but the most important is getting married to the woman he re-encounter thanks to La Sombra. If not for the international art thief, he could have not come back to México in another 40-50 years o maybe NEVER!
In an Andy Griffith moment (minus the whistling), Ricardo spends all day with Pedro, first getting the smoking, then terrorizing Lucio the rapist and then getting the cake etc.

As we all know, Lucio got free with bribes, right? Well, that's wrong, and now Ricardo, the justice maker avenger and his sidekick diabetic Pete will put him back in jail where he belongs!
In the way to Lucio's house, that luckily is at a walking distance of all the errands they have to run today, Ricardo and Pedro discuss his children, who are with Ernesto, his rival and archenemy.
Finally they get to Luciós and fight and threat him for abusing defenseless girls instead of fighting men like them. But what if that's MY DREAM, right? Anyway, Lucio becomes inmate #3.
I still don't know who blew the whistle, but Rentería is there to stop the heroes before they become murderers and to handcuff the culprit, who now will spend at least 25 years in prison, or less, if he is sent to Altiplano, where he can make a tunnel and escape.
Ex agent justice maker bribe hater Ricardo will go now to CARELS, to get the white chocolate cake with frankenberries and double vanilla Esperanza so much loves.
-Welcome, están atrás, adelante!
Are the cakes in the back or in the front? Make up your mind woman!

Pedro wants to know how does it feel to be with ''the love of your life'' and who better than Ricardo to explain it to him, saying that is someone that you LOVED, you LOVE and you WILL LOVE  for the rest of your life. You will know when you find it (and then you go away for 20 years and come back as if nothing happened). Although, is always good to keep a spare, just in case...

Kracy's dream
Orale, órale, ándale, arriba, arriba! Kracy got the most colloquial spanish infused with her new hair color and now she is fluent. Her only dream is Esperanza's nightmare. First she goes and steal the wedding dress at gunpoint and then she puts it on ON TOP of her outfit just to ruin it ad make Esperanza angry. The catfight destroyed the flimsy dress and Esperanza suffered a tramafán. Between me and you, I agree with Kracy, the dress needed to be destroyed because it was ugly and simple (flat and unnatractive). Kracy wants Esperanza to stop wrinkling herself crying and calls her antidote for desire and is still there when PatoLuca gets home with a shiny ring on her finger.

Pato's dream is not the same as Esperanza's
Who disapprove of the wedding arguing that she is too young and that Luca is in his mid 20s and working, while she is still in prepa and needs forever to graduate of anything. Pato plays the ''How old were you when you got married'' card, but her Mapa says that she was already working as a teacher. So there you have it, she is over 40 now! No more kids with Ricardo!
They argue back and forth, and all that arguing makes Esperanza worse and the pain becomes unbearable. Her life is just like a rollercoaster of emotions. First anger, then pain, then anger again, and now disappointment.
Mapa! Count to 10!
Even if I count to 1,000 I still won't be calmed.
These days nobody gets married at 18, she says.
Obviously not, they are too busy getting pregnant at 14! Duh!
Well, this is my life and good or bad I am going to live it!
OMG, between you with your proposal and Kracy and her antics, youre going to kill me!
The wedding is this saturday and I will get married dress or not dress!
Mapa, before I leave, what about two weddings for saturday? GO AWAY!!

Félix's dream is interrupted by
Bárbara
Félix is still dreaming of the flowers and the bees, when he is discovered by Bárbara, who is still looking for Cristina Vélez valderrama the very famous specialist in saving schools from very difficult crisis, schools that have low ranking and need to be improved. The teacher/pedagogue more like a firewoman of teaching. The only one who can save this school and give its reputation back. Amén.

Ernesto's dream

Clashes against Kracy's. She doesn't care for Ricardo anymore but Ernesto don't want anything happen to Esperanza, and that's precisely what Kracy dreams. Destroying her!
She tell him all about the wedding dress, starting with how she stole it at gunpoint.
She is endangering the whole thing with this obsession, but at least she is doing something. Ernesto said that Ricardo could only get married to Esperanza over his dead body and he is not dead yet and the wedding is on saturday at noon.

Kristel's dream is actually a nightmare
She is still devoting herself to Pedro in body and soul, while Erasmo slowly vanishes from her mind. Kristel, alles gut? You will never love nobody else? She is only 18, there's time.

Viviana's REM dream
Viviana presents Ernesto with the divorce papers and tells him that he has not been visiting Adrián. Besides tearing the documents in her face, he replies in a cascade of insults that include but are not limited to: say that he was with her for her money and that her presence makes him want to throw up with repugnance so that's why sometimes he wants to kill her twisting her neck like an old hen. He also calls her Unfaithful, unstable, old, stupid, bad in bed and then some more but that's just unnecessary. She got it at ''I was with you for your money''.

Sansón's dream
Samson and his goons plan to exploit Erasmo, Estrella and even Kiko as soon as he walks. They watch the kids as they get home. Inside, Erasmo reads a book named ''Pasión for Arquitectura'', and after discussing the therapies that won't be ''enchílame otra gorda'' (easy) and that he has enrolled in the University to start in one month, he asks them if they want water of lemon (lemonade). You know what else is due in one month? Yeah! Giving 15,000 dollars back to Sansón. I want to see how you do that!
Erasmo has been probably very busy signing in the University and getting his books, to know that the government has free medical service for ALL STUDENTS of Public schools. Well... don't say we didn't warn you!

Alegrías' dream
While Ernesto and Kracy plot as usual, Ricardo rings the bell downstairs because he wants to see his kids and fearing Kracy's mood swings, he brought both his lawyer and a notary to make sure they get everything on paper in case she denied him his right. After a long while back in forth, and feeling threatened because this could mean jail time and she already did the wedding dress stunt, she agrees to let him come up. That and Ernesto threats to kill her if she make him feel cornered. Good thing Ernesto is going out, otherwise, blood could run here very soon!
Ricardo flaunts his coming marriage in Ernesto's face, but before he leaves, Ernesto warns him not to count the chickens before they hatch, you know,  1,000 things ''can happen'' from here to saturday. You better calm down until AFTER you're married.

Esperanza's dream of never lying, became a nightmare full of lies
In this House nobody lies except when I have to hide my cancer from my loved ones.
Turns out those pains she felt are MORE TUMORS!! Poor Esperanza, all her dreams are ''hechos pinole'' now! According to doctor Castañeda, who is not an oncologist, there's a lot of gastric inactivity in her fatty region and that can only mean huuuge tumors caused by the existence of dough in the stomach maybe for eating so much tamales or chilortas. Only the experts from duckology know for sure. So he sends her to Doctor Medrano, the oncologist, because now she will need another biopsy and a superior endoscopy. She will sacrifice her happiness with the help of half truths in order of not destroying Ricardo's wedding illusion.

Coincidentally, the results will be ready the same say at the same time as the wedding!!
So, if you were guessing what's in store for Esperanza's big day, you got it!
(Betty Monroe is not a method actress, she is actually crying because she is getting fired!)

Mario's dream II

When Viviana arrives to the Manzanares household, she finds Mario with his corazón hecho pinole. She brought Salma a gift (hopefully is not another origami eyesore).
Salma, who doesn't know yet if this baby is a miracle or a curse! take it with caution.

Esperanza's shattered dream

I need to go to work tomorrow, have a lot to do before the wedding like send invitations and plan the tables distribution, call the Catering Zeta Jones and you still want me to stay calmed, doctor? Really? Knowing that I have cancer in the stomach?!

Off Topic: I know this is like comparing oranges to manzanares, but if you think the romance between Principal Margarita and Félix is amusing, please check HELLO, MY NAME IS DORIS, where a superb Sarita Campo (Sally Field) falls in love with a guy who could be her son in a very funny and heartwarming comedy. Done right!

Wow! All this dreaming made me dizzy! Welcome to the comment section.

Pablo, your recap was very, very funny.

Thank you for many superb comments, especially "In an Andy Griffith moment (minus the whistling)", "You will know when you find it (and then you go away for 20 years and come back as if nothing happened)." and of course "These days nobody gets married at 18, she says. Obviously not, they are too busy getting pregnant at 14! Duh!" (my favorite).

Your dream theme was inspired.

Unfortunately, I only saw the last few minutes which was more than enough to see a shaken Pedro console his mother. "(Betty Monroe is not a method actress, she is actually crying because she is getting fired!)". Oh dear. I will be very unhappy if that happens. Why an innocent character should die rather than the inept writing team behind this brainless plot blunder is beyond me.

I'm equally anxious about Erasmo. I refuse to believe he is going to the dark side. My heavens, axing the heroine and turning the nicest should be galan here over to evil is just too much.

My mind is spinning. Talk to you all tomorrow.

Diana

Pablo, I loved the "dream theme" as well as the "hecho pinole" theme. "Catering Zeta Jones" ! Kiko, the origami a real PEAM repeat! Is Osorio just playing with the viewer? Enquiring minds want to know . . . . It might be 2:44 but I am laughing!

Esperanza sure had one hellish nightmare of a day: from Tracy to the dress to the doctors/tests/cancer to Pato engaged at eighteen, etc. Am I missing something? Now "truth teller" Esperanza wants Pedro to not let Ricardo kniow anything about her illness.

I liked Ricardo showing up to see the kids with his lawyer and notary but I loved Ernesto grabbing Tracy by the hair with his one good hand and clarifying her wedding dress heist as armed robbery.

Félix dreaming about Margarita was funny.

Sorry but this is a continuing annoyance: Okay, now let me get this straight: the man who raped Ara is off to jail as he should be. Salma who raped a passed out Adrián and who will make him a father (double whammy) is still at home with her family? Nobody even called the police or child protective services to advocate for Adrián so he is not left holding a baby? This whole gender thing is out of whack. Estrella never should have brought Kiko over and until he can run, Kiko should be rolling as fast as he can in the opposite direction.

Too bad they made Erasmo into a fool and the loan shark into a nutcase, too.

Can Cristina pop up soon? There just isn't enough going on! LOL!

Thanks, Pablo.

Enjoyed your astute comments Jarifa.

Perhaps Kiko's kind heart is being influenced by someone he perceives as needing help. The wounded bird, so to speak. Those would not be my words to describe Salma but unfortunately, the characters are not privy to what actually occurred as are we viewers.

I am anxious for Marco, so yes, Cristina may show up at any time for me as well.

Diana

Thanks.

Catering ''Zeta Jones'' is borrowed. It is an ''homage'' to the spanish version of ''The mysteries of Laura'' originally from Spain.

Maybe Adrián could make use of the ''male abortion'' and distance himself of all this mess Stoopid Salma caused. Instead of keeping her legs closed and her eyes open, she did the opposite and opened her legs and closed her eyes!! (borrowed from My big fat greek wedding 2)

And speaking of Salma, I didn't see Silvana yesterday... maybe she died and the guards have not noticed her absence like nobody ever noticed her bruised face?

Diana, good comment about Kiko. He is still young and naïve.

Pablo, "Los misterios de Laura"! I have only seen a couple of episodes and liked them. Now with "Mysteries of Laura" cancelled I guess I will have time to watch more. "Greek Wedding 2" is on my list.

I am also puzzled about all this Salma issue, because, for starters, I wish she had been punished and not rewarded for what she did. I know she needs guidance now that the damage has been done, but still, she did something wrong and she needs to pay for it. All actions have reactions and here I have seen just poor this and poor that and pettings on her head and back.

I am trying to find a name that is not rape for the relationship between two consenting teens but other than rape because in México, the adult/adult, adult/minor, adult/child, all non consensual is called ''violación'', but when two kids play and touch is called exploring, and when the minor consents with an adult is called ''estupro''. Here the only word I found was rape for everything. Estupro is still illegal because the minor is not old enough to make decisions like this, but, what is it when two teens agree to be intimate and then for any reason complain or regret and then take action claiming falsely that was rape?

Salma abused Adrián because he was more drunk than aware and that's rape, but they're both underage. What kind of penalty should be facing?

I guess what I find fascinating is that there seems to be no consequences maybe because Adrián or his family did not try to file charges against her with the police/juvenile authorities. One would think that they would not want Salma coming back in nine months requesting a DNA test and looking for support when she initiated the act. Would they not file because it would expose Adrian's alcoholism or make him look like a real wuss? I contend if it were Salma that had been raped, files would have been charged no matter how old the rapist ASAP. There seems to be a huge elephant in the room on this one: a double standard. Consequences? This is a biggie so time in a juvenile home with plenty of counseling until her sentence is served what ever that might be. Just patting her on the head is not the answer. She does seem to get away with everything. Hey, she slapped the girl in the classroom and nothing happened except a request for more understanding.

Thank you, Pablo! This was hilarious, as usual. I don't know how you manage to do it every single week, but I appreciate the laughs! The parts that inspired the most giggles though were the advice of Rico Suave, The Love-And-Leave-Them Guru, and this zinger: "Betty Monroe is not a method actress, she is actually crying because she is getting fired!". I can't wait for the introduction of Cristina Whatshername, apparently the only person who owns a PhD is pedagogy in the whole Western Hemisphere, so the ratings continue sinking as I bask in schadenfreude. Ricardo was/is an extremely annoying and very flawed galán. Therefore, the remedy, according to Osorio and his minions, is two-fold:

1) Hastily wrap up the La Sombra storyline (which was wobbly and simplistic from the get-go) and make Ricardo quit his job as an incompetent policeman to start acting as a vigilante in his spare time; and

2) Have Ricardo doubt his feelings for the love of his life (who he inexplicably abandoned for 20 years) and make him drool over the first blond boobylicious woman that makes goo-goo eyes at him.

Thank you very much, Jarifa for your excellent work on Wednesday! Very entertaining recap of a very disappointing episode. Why didn't Ricardo die in that explosion? Esperanza would've died of cancer and sorrow, then the two lovebirds could have lived their dream of love in the other life. Eternal happiness in the más allá (great beyond), complete with a nice wedding on clouds, with angels playing harps and the newlyweds sporting shiny halos! THE END. Honestly, how long before this stinking heap of tonterías is over? I'm especially ticked off because the excellent "Yago" has been unceremoniously demoted to the graveyard shift at a lesser channel after only 13 episodes, while this insult to my senses stays on the air!

Have a great evening, amig@s! :)

Great comments.

You know how I feel? Like from now on we are going to see random sketches like in a SNL show for the next 80 episodes. Novelas also get cancelled, I guess Lala has already paid for 130 half hour commercials and its cheaper to fill it up with juarever than pay when theyre sued for ending the commercial sooner than contracted. LOL!!

"Lala has already paid for 130 half hour commercials..." Gee, I didn't think of that! You are absolutely right, Pablo! Lala has forked the full bill for this stinker and you don't wanna mess with cheese! :D

Thank you, Pablo! My dream (though not necessarily of love) is that they'd make the show as entertaining as y'all's recaps.

I wonder if Esperanza and Ricardo are actually going to get married this quickly, or if she'll kick the bucket first. Or collapse and go in for surgery and come out with a new body and face.

Could this pedagogist just show up already? How much dramatic suspense buildup do we really need? It would be worth it if she turned out to be...um, I don't even know, I can't think of anything that would live up to this much hype. Just bring on the new admin or stop talking about her!

I think in addition to the sexism issue, telenovelas tend to have a really really bad habit of portraying drunkenness as consent. It's appalling.
