Looking forward to Sneaky Two's recap. Thank you in advance, in case, I don't have time to do so tomorrow. I know it will be great. AB nails A Let's personality like nobody can. She was so mad after getting slapped that she was pacing like wild animal, but as she heard A Llorona groveling outside her door, she turned giddy over getting A llorona to agree not to join them on the trip. She was so delighted to have hurt her sister so much that she was jumping on the bed happily throwing her legs in the air. I wonder if that was the actress's spin she threw in or if it was the directo'r's. She also made some dramatic funny faces when she was taunting Ram about sleeping next to her sister's prosthetic leg. I didn't know who the woman was that went to Marianos office to threaten him with legal action. Was that Gina?? I remember the actress from being in Amores Verdaderos as Eduardo Yanez wife.

Another question, if anyone cares to answer. I thought A Let lived with uncle, because I remember a convo in the first epi where Ernestina is asking Mariano how A Let was doing. He said "She's fine, shopping every day," Ernestina replied she was going to bankrupt him, laughingly. So I thought A Let lived w him, but she also seemslike she lives in the mansion too????

Leticia - Yep, the lady threatening Mariano with legal action is Mónika Sánchez from Amores Verdaderos. Didn't know she was in this but I'm happy to see her. That was a fun scene.

After Ana Leticia's and Ana Llora's spatting door scene, which drove me to take a channel break, I can picture AB playing both sides of "Whatever Happened to Baby Jane?" 40 years from now. In that old film, Betty Davis cruelly drives her sister Jane Crawford nuts. Poor Ana Lucia has a lovely life compared to the other triplets. I cringe to think of how crazy her life will get when she meets up with the other two.

Leticia- Ana Leticia wasn't living permanently in the coastal city. It's where Marcelo is buried (seems it's where he's from, as that's where Ernestina was first introduced to him by Jenny), where Jenny lives, and where Mariano spends a lot of time/has a second home. Ana Leticia was supposedly there the last time visiting Marcelo's grave to commemorate the anniversary of his death. But while there, just happened to stay a LONG time glommed to the side of Mariano. I'm sure Jenny was thrilled, as she will be when she sees Mariano has yet again not come alone to see her.
 

New character is not Gina. Monika Sanchez has been in the credits since the beginning. There are at least two more people who are shown in opening credits whom we haven't met/seen yet.

What a great slap! Too bad Ernestina shifted into the guilt mode.

Ana Leticia and Ana Laura sure were two sick puppies (one rabid, one kicked) on either side of that bedroom door. Their "co-dependent" dance was done so well it made it hard to watch.






 

Yeah, that was a masterful codependence dance Leticia and Laura did in that long scene. Great job by AB! The more I see of the relationship between Leticia and Laura, the more I think Lucia was darned lucky to grow up away from them. I am anxious to see how adding Lucia to the mix will shake things ups. I don't think she'll be as gullible to Leticia's games, although she is falling for Soledad's fakery. I do think Lucia would be good for Laura and helping her with her self esteem.
 

I absolutely agree. Ana Lucia might be shocked at this or maybe she will remember this sort of nastiness from before. Ana Leticia was certainly selfish and evil already at the age of 5.

That slap was long overdue and it's too bad that Ernestina not only feels guilty she won't listen to Leonora (who knows what they're dealing with).

Going from below zero to normal in self-esteem takes years. It will also take more than Ana Lucia's help, especially now that Ana Leticia is also wishing Ana Llorona dead as well.

Once upon a time on Dynasty there was a catfight between doubles. I wonder whether they'll try this.

I definitely think Ana Llora will benefit from AnaLu being around. AnaLu seems to want to believe the best about people so I can see AnaLet playing AnaLu for awhile. AnaLu has some good instincts (totally off on her mom) and a lot of confidence in herself so she won't submit to AnaLet for long I think (and desperately hope!)
 

Urban- I agree that Ana Laura needs therapy. But I think a relationship with Ana Lucia could show her what a relationship between sisters is supposed to be like, and help her break this painful codependent cycle with Ana Leticia.
 

Urban, who knows a cat fight with doubles could fill the bill at some point!
 

That would be awesome Urban! Maybe AnaLlora could join in too and beat AnaLet with her prosthetic leg.
 

Now that would require three stunt doubles in matching clothes.... it would probably take a whole week to shoot it.
 

It would be well worth a week of shooting. That scene would go down in telenovela history.

Take away a dog to kick and Leticia cannot use her boot and the nearest of the three that has the smarts and initiative to live on her own post inheritance. So she has a mean streak but if it was she with the prosthetic she'd be on dancing with the stars.

Agree Lucia was the lucky sister and I'm now in full support of any trickery Soledad conjures up. Lucia needs to get a real paying job though and see if she can support herself instead of floating through life with a head in the clouds.

Laura is nowhere near a functioning adult and I blame grandma. I wonder if she can even wipe her own bottom.

 

I've made "Now, Voyager" references in the past about other shows and though Abuela isn't nearly as domineering as the mother in that movie, AnaLlora has a lot of the qualities of Betty Davis' character. Abuela described her as a quiet girl when she was little but now she is meek, no self esteem, no fight. Her Abuela maybe coddled her too much after losing her own daughter but she hasn't given her confidence or strength. She has allowed AnaLlora to be domineered by her sister, pretty obviously, and by herself, making all decisions for her. Girl needs an intervention. Maybe creepy Val's influence isn't such a bad idea.
 

Analu will be a formidable foe to Ana Leticia. Analu is not as weak as Ana Llora and I can see her going into protective mode over her.

How old was Ana Leticia when she met & married Marcelo?

The triplets are 24-25 years old.

Marcelo's been "dead" for three years.

Ana Let & Marcelo were married for a year.

So Ana Let had to be 18-20 when she married Marcelo. That's a bit young in these days.
 

Gosh Urban and Julie, now I really want there to be a three way fight!
 

Especially among educated or wealthy people. Most don't marry until after college graduation plus their first jobs. Marrying too young is never a good idea.
 

Ana Leticia doesn't strike me as someone who would go to college. She would think she's going to be inheriting all this money anyway so why should she have to go to college?

Ana Laura doesn't strike me as being brave enough to go to college. She strikes me as someone who would have private tutors or be enrolled in a small school.

I'm not sure if Ana Laura has a job at the foundation or just volunteers. Ana Leticia only just started working at the real estate company to be close to Tio; she doesn't seem to have been gainfully employed before. And some will ask, the triplets are heiresses so why would they need a job?

Because idle hands are the devil's workshop. Maybe if Ana Leticia & Ana Laura were doing other things besides scheming and crying things would be better for them.
 

Anon207 - and in yesterday's episode Abuela said that Ana Le and Marcelo were dating for three years before they got married. So 25 - 3 years since death - 1 year of marriage - 3 years dating = Ana Le was indeed 17-18 when they started going out!
 

Just because it isn't the norm to marry at 18-20 in some cultures doesn't mean that is the norm for all cultures. In general, Mexicans marry much younger than Americans. Remember we are watching a different culture.
 

recap part 1

All righty then we’ve got some rehash – New guy and Abue’s cardiologist lunch and Ramiro looks for Llora/Mopey (from here on out Llora b/c Jardinera’s nickname is better than mine, (thanks Jardinera)Mopey was sounding a little too 7 dwarfs) and finds out about her new friend.

New stuff – Llora asks Valentin about his vengeance but he backpedals ‘oh just getting vengeance on self-pity’, and says the real secret to his will to live is appreciate the little things, like for example trees, flowers, chirping birds, and her smile and then starts asking passers by for a mirror en alta voz so she can see it for herself. She’s charmed and embarrassed.

Santiago tells his taxi bud he’s heading home for lunch, bud knows its cause he wants to see the sweet young thing who just moved in but bud calls dibs cause he saw her first. Santiago has to break it to him that she’s the dream girl he’s been pursuing for a while now, bud is all ‘every time man’ but seems pretty cool with it.

Sole tells Free spirit she lost the phone but will get her a new one when Chana sends $ Free spirit is mostly upset over losing her contacts. Sole – ‘ when I was your age I had ot memorize my friends’ phone numbers, you kids today’

Abue has chest pains but gets her pill in time, then Bad seed comes dashing in w/her great plan for the two of them (and she does mean only 2) to go to Costa Pariso. Abue says CP brings back bad memories, she feels guilty b/c she went there to hire Marcelo to find her missing nieta, Jenny worked for him, but once he saw Bad seed it was love at first sight, three yrs later they’re married and three yrs after that, he dies trying to solve the case she hired him on. Bad seed begs her to go, at least to see his grave, after all he loved her too and Leonore agrees she should go and of course they’ll take Llora with them. Bad seed covers her dismay quickly and gracefully.

Santiago gets home and offers his help in the kitchen, which consists of sticking his finger in the beans Reme is mashing and saying they need more salt. The kitchen helper sighs after him w/approximately the same face I make when he’s on screen. Remedios notices.
Free spirit tells Santiago about her lost phone and he suggests taking her back to SN for the wkend to see all her friends. They tell Sole about the great plan and Sole’s face says ‘not so great’

Ramiro tells Abue all about how he lurrrves Llora and she supports their marriage.

Some chick comes into tio Mariano’s office to yell at him about some business thing, she’s gonna sue him – he says go ahead. (this seems real random, maybe it’ll make more sense later)

Llora gets home to an ambush proposal, Abue is too, too excited and goes off to chill champagne while Llora and Ramiro talk. Bad seed is in the kitchen and when Abue comes in tries subtly to cool her enthusiasm.

Free spirit tries to get her mom to go with them on the weekend trip, Sole says ‘no, you kids go and have fun, I’ll just stay here and rest, since I haven’t been feeling well lately’ and then she faints.

The scene between Llora and Ramiro is tiresome and predictable – upshot; she won’t marry him, she saw him kiss her sister, and knows all about it and won’t listen to his explanations, also she doesn’t want to see him anymore.

 

part 2


Everybody fusses over Sole and they send for a doc. I can’t tell if its real or faked to keep her daughter by her side, though her refusal to go to the hospital and saying her best medicine is to have Free spirit near, indicates the latter. .

Llora, crying of course, tells Abue she won’t marry him and why. Bad seed isn’t pleased she told the why and less so when Abue swings back and slaps her, she leaves angry talking about how it isn’t her fault and she always gets blamed. Llora defends her and tells Abue Ramiro was leading them both on and runs after her sister. Bad seed has locked herself in her room crying with hurt and rage and won’t let Llora and doesn’t want to talk to her. Llora ends up sitting on one side of the door crying with Bad seed sitting on the other side crying too.

Santiago comforts Free Spirit and they put off the trip. The doc finds the fainting strange, b/c Sole’s pressure is fine, it must be something else. Somebody suggests cancer and Sole freaks – ‘No! my mother died from that, I can’t have that, it doesn’t only end the life of the sick person, but everyone around them’ Remedios and the doc try to calm her, though the doc saying having a family history of cancer makes you more likely to get it, can’t help.

Abue feels bad about slapping Bad seed, though Leonore thinks she’s needed a good slap for a while now, and they know Ramiro, is it likely he’d really string along both girls, or is it more likely Bad seed is trying to steal her sister’s boyfriend. Abue can’t believe she’d do that, she knows her granddaughter better than Leonore and reprimands her, so Leonore gets offended and Abue chases after her to apologize.

Llora and Bad seed yell through the door to each other. Llora bout how Sorry she is and Bad seed about how betrayed she feels that Llora told Abue about her, and how nobody loves her enough, boo hoo, but she smiles an evil grin to herself as Llora sobs ‘forgive me’ through the door.

Ramiro remembers how he tried to tell Marcelo about the kiss, but he beat around the bush so much, and took so long getting to the point, Marcelo assumed it was some other thing about Bad seed buying a car she wanted and Ramiro wimps out.
Bad Seed is anxiously waiting to find out if he told and her satisfaction when he says he didn’t is immense.

Bad Seed and Llora continue their convo through the door – Llora - ‘open the door please’ Bad seed– ‘I opened my heart to you to help you out and you blabbed to everyone’ (she’s really enjoying herself now) ‘and if something happens to Abue b/c she’s so upset about this it will be your fault’
Llora – ‘ I had to give some explanation about why’ ‘ I’m so sorry, forgive me, ect’
Bad seed comes up w/something her sister can do to make it up to her, when Abue tells her about the trip to Costa Pariso she has to say she doesn’t want to go and make her go w/o her
Llora – ‘ but I do want to go, we three haven’t gone anywhere together for a long time now’ (she sounds like a sad little kid)
But no, Bad seed is so mad at her she won’t go if Llora goes and Abue will have to put flowers on Marcelo’s grave by herself *sob* Llora caves and agrees not to go, and asks only for a hug, but Bad seed won’t open the door and doesn’t want to see her and Llora limps away crying.
(What a real downer of an ending)

 

Thank you, Sneaky Two Shoes. I fell asleep before the big fight - looks like I missed the best part. I can't believe Llora apologized to Bad Seed. That's so backwards!!

Thanks for your explanation of what transpired in the coastal city. I understood that part, my question is that Uncle Mariano, who lives in DF, had Leticia living him and abuela would tease him that he indulged her too much. So that is why I thought Leti lived with him in DF, but then it seems like she stays/lives at mansion??

Niece, that is so funny but true. It is like "whatever happened to Baby Jane." How she would tormet her, please No rats on silver plates. Lol

k so I read the comments and re-did the math and I made a mistake in the recap
I said three yrs after meeting Bad seed and Marcelo got married and three yrs after that he "died" but I meant he "died" three years ago, b/c somebody (can't remember who) said its been six yrs since they met Marcelo, and its for sure been three yrs since he "died" so I got mixed up and sorry if I mixed anyone else up

Bad seed has feels, she gets hurt or mad, I think she was really hurt/sad about being mistrusted, no matter that she deserved to be, and she clearly wants love, lots and lots of love, and sometimes she feels bad about what she does, but she doesn't let that stop her, and keeps on doing what she's doing. I think she's selfish on a massive scale, but not inhuman. I mean a lot of people do selfish things that hurt others, sometimes even when we know we're doing them just b/c we think our wants are more important.

Soledad was totally faking it, and I think Remedios was picking up on it. But once the doc mentioned cancer, Soledad freaked because of her family history. I think those of us who predicted that Soledad will get a real illness while making up a FAKE one were right. Because she's so terrified of it, the writers will likely give Soledad cancer like her mother.

after a long day of flights and airports and finally getting to the hotel, I was so NOT in the mood to deal with the weeping and faking and wrong people being made to feel bad. Seriously...is this our daily fare now? Watching that scene with the door...oh, that was just painful, and way too long.

And Abue needs to open her eyes. If anything, she should see the broken young woman she has in AnaLo and have done something to get her help or guidance. She may have made us cheer with the slap, but then it was tempting to give her one right back minutes later.

 

Ria, thank you for the recap. You did it perfectly! Agree it was pitiful watching Llorona limp away. Ramiro shoulda not whimped out from telling, but perhaps just as well because I am certain Leticia would have manipulated the truth and say Ramiro was mad because he wants her, and you know how dramatic she is, she would have come between their friendship.

What a nasty little slut Ana Leticia is coming on to Marcelo's best friend like that.Of course, as with all others like her, she is smart enough to not get caught for the time being.

In the flashback in which she first met Marcelo she looked about 18, so when we do the match 18+3+1+3 = 25. Had Marcelo not had the "accident" he would have eventually had to endure her cheating on him.

The problem with Ana Leticia is that she doesn't feel she has anything unless she has it all; it's a zero-sum game with her. Any love given to Ana Llorona is love she doesn't get. Any man who goes for any other woman is taking something away from her self-assessed value as a woman. She is a devoradora, an emotional vampire, and a killer. She killed her parents when she turned the wheel of the car and is now trying to put the blame on her sister.

I think she will ultimately try to drive Ana Llorona to suicide.

Ok now I've been wondering for a few eps now but they aren't telling us. So Gina went to jail for defrauding some guy, her previous lover/husband/whatever so would that be Valentin, or some other guy? And Valentin wants revenge, on Ramiro? b/c he still loved Gina? or what. oooh what if he found out Bad seed was behind Gina's death somehow or other and he's trying to get back at her, by somehow using Llora? Turning her against her sister? or stealing her? or something.
Just cooking up theories here ;)

Agree Urban that AnaLet must have everything for herself. It makes me worry what personality Marcelo had prior to Santiago. He knew AnaLet for 4 years and was still enamored of her. She is pretty frivolous. Tito says all she does is shop. Either he is super blind, and being a detective takes good instincts, or he is/was close to being pretty selfish himself.
 

If Ernestina practically bit off Leonora's head when she suggested Leticia is the liar, then Ramiro has no chance of convincing her or Laura.
