Un Camino Hacia el Destino-Week 14 (May 23, 2016) Second Half
A representative of Child Welfare Services, a uniformed officer and a notebook lady have shown up in the middle of Clarita and Cesar’s reception. The rep addresses Marissa and wants to speak to Carlos. She says he’s not at home, but she can speak for him. She leads them in the house. The rep states Carlos has been keeping an unaccompanied minor in the home. Marissa is cooperative. Yes, Carlos brought home a homeless youngster, but is planning to adopt him.
The rep says that is the problem. There are no papers on file so they have to take the boy to a childrens shelter. Marissa doesn’t think that should be necessary. He’s well taken care of in their home, but they will have the family lawyer file the right papers in the morning. Rep lady says that doesn’t conform to the law. They have to take him now.

Kendra's too. Oh, my yes, he's soooo fine!
Anita - [Ahem—I thought I saw a little tongue action there!] I did too! I was like, "well, alrighty then"
Like seriously Jay? How do you loose someone that you never had? Stop stalking Fer, ugh!
Poor Paco. He was so happy. It's amazing that they didn't care that he lived on the streets and people knew him as a homeless thief (you'd think that would bring the shelter folks to come get him) but he's living in a mansion and this is a problem. Don't get me wrong, I knew this didn't make since and was the wrong way to take on a child; however, you have to make a formal attempted murder complaint against someone who threatened you at gunpoint (in front of witness - including police), but a homeless child we have to make we follow the rules? So there are looser rules for assault with a dangerous/deadly weapon? Whatever! I know its a TN.
Fer, I loved the way she didn't back down with that ball of fur! If she had ended with 2 snaps and a neck and eye roll - it would have been the perfect ending to that 'READ HER A**' moment!
Although I missed the end, I knew Amelia visiting Pedro in the hospital was going to spell trouble for his sanity. I was going crazy at the thought of her finding him and going to see him, so I can only imagine his state.
"Carlos leans over for a kiss. [Ahem—I thought I saw a little tongue action there!]", "Luis emerges from his lair, triumphant", "half-built, half-burnt shack" and "Paco tries to do the math in his head" were among many favorites.
"Carlos has no luck with the directora. She has not been moved by his earnest baby blue eyes". Only the coldest of hearts could resist that charm, charisma and sparkling eyes. The actress (Maria Prado I believe) was a great choice. Stony and without a scintilla of kindness radiated from her stern countenance.
I agree Kendra, it was hard to watch Paco being taken from the home he loves, that he quickly and completely assimilated into and being put in that fortress of a prison. Err, orphanage.
"She’s sure Lupe will blame her for his going". Yes, I’m sure she will too Clarita, especially when he gets caught for illegal entry (pure speculation but a pretty safe statement I think).
"She gets up and leaves him as he is shouting at her that apart from her millions, she’s not worth a thing to a man—she can’t even cook. To himself, he swears to make her pay". We can only hope that you pay Luis. Marissa, you must find a way to evict him from your house. You can't have him there tormenting you daily.
I was waiting with baited breath for the Amelia/Pedro meeting. Anita, your "He spends the time reliving all the moderately good times with Amelia and the times when he was rejected and humiliated by her" was perfect! 'nuff said.
"She tells Blanca she needs to discover what her real feelings are for him and she needs to do it in person". There is so much raw pain and bitterness, I don't think any rational, reasonable conversation can be held between the two at this point. Carlos should rant and rave and get his indignation and hurt out. Amelia should ask forgiveness and please that she intends to make amends. Then, she should leave and leave him to ponder this startling change of personality and mindset. I do want them to come to terms and have a civil relationship but it will take time.
Of course, Pedro totally "lost it" with Fernanda. Get a grip man. You can't control and manipulate. That is up to Amelia...
Iggy is great (and very handsome). Let's not let this prize languish.
To everyone who has lost a loved one to their service for our country, God bless. Madeline has been on my mind a great deal - I think of her so often...
Anita, I so look forward to your recaps! This was splendid - thank you so much.
Diana
Obviously, Pedro still has issues. He didn't respond well at all to what should have been relatively minor things, and he did it once right in front of his shrink!
Boy, I agree with you Kendra that the Child Protective Services there are bonkers to take a kid out of the household of a respected physician and throw him into a dingy institution.
Luis takes this war to the death stuff pretty seriously. Unfortunately, (for him), he is the one who is going to be (killed, incarcerated, discredited) (strike out whichever word you don't like).
Tongue action? Really? I missed that.
Well, coming off of her reconciliation with Carlos, Fer had the self assurance to tell Isy off, thank God. Everyone seems to be turning on Isy, even her sister. She does a great "deer in the headlights" pose.
A roiling mess at don Fer's house. I am loving the tension between Mariana and Hernan.
Off topic: I had a box of cereal with sliced, dried strawberries in it; the grandkids went through it and picked out all the strawberries and ate them.
Thanks again, Anita.
David
"either reminiscing wistfully or torturing herself"
That Amelia is a piece of work. Forget she loathed Pedro worse than a boil but dammit she just gotta see if she has feelings for him and to confirm he adores her still.
Javier was going to release this nut on the unsuspecting population. Somebody take Javier's license. I can't even imagine the flip-out had Pedro seen Amelia.
Adelina doesn't look good
I laughed, Carlos was smooching Fernanda as they took the poor boy away. Carlos doesn't need the boy now since he got his number one fan back.
Gosh don't Fernanda know another song
Luis takes this war to the death stuff pretty seriously. Unfortunately, (for him), he is the one who is going to be (killed, incarcerated, discredited) (strike out whichever word you don't like). I like them all in this order - discredited, incarcerated, then killed. He must suffer before meeting his 'timely' end.
Iggy punching Luis (loved it). I have only seen him get punched and beat up by men. I have not once (I REPEAT - NOT ONCE!) seen him hit that man back. Hit a woman? Well yeah, that's what cowards do. Hit the person they CAN beat.
Isy, Iam so done with her. She is just pathetic. The End. Bury it and move on. Mariana and hermy are actually comic relief for this show. She's bad at murdering people. She can't do it to save her life, poor stupid inept woman.
Tonite should be fun too if pedro don't go crazy and start hitting himself in the head again. He really need to get it together. Ok its friday hoo hoo!!!!. I like fridays. Ok later people.
Note: Don't stay up late looking for a recap tonight and don't get up early to look for it then either. I've decided to take the night off and do the whole thing tomorrow.
Speaking of OT eating habits. Both my grandsons used to pick out every little bit of cooked onion in hamburgers, meatloaf or pizza they could find. Maybe there was something to it. They are both handsome, strapping young men. And don't even ask about their father's early eating habits.
As much as I love this show, I am lost in most of the dialogue so could not continue without your insightful summaries. Any revelation will do doubt be a huge surprise to me. Even things I am fairly certain I understand are usually not right or missing huge puzzle pieces.
I can't imagine how much time you need to devote to this so thank you...
Diana
Pedro catches himself in time before he really goes off the deep end, after hearing that Carlos and Fernanda are back together. Realizing he could have harmed Fer, he begs no to be released. He feels he doesn’t deserve it. Jay asks Fer to leave them alone to talk.
Carlos is still with Don Fer, who can’t remember any Fernanda. Carlos explains that besides being his novia, she’s the person who was taking care of him. Don Fer says, oh, that inept girl was his novia? Carlos assures him she’s not inept. He had suffered another crisis. Carlos also assures him Amelia is his daughter, although he failed to recognize her. Don Fer thought it was all a lie. Hernán said so, too, but if Carlos says so, he’ll believe it. Carlos is going to take him to the hospital for a full work-up by Arteaga.
Luis follows Amelia into her office. He needs to talk to her. [About what, I wonder.] Amelia doesn’t want to talk to him and asks him to leave. He just wants to help. She tells him she went to see Pedro, the only man who really cared for her and whom she scorned. Luis wants to know if Amelia is in love with Pedro. She’s not sure, but she is sure she doesn’t want to talk about it with Luis. Luis thinks he has a right to know. Amelia says he doesn’t (then she proceeds to tell him how she feels). She thinks it’s her punishment that she was in love with him the whole time, but spent her time despising him. She wants to see him, the only decent and honest man who ever crossed her path and is now rejecting her.
Fer asks Jay about her father. She thinks he’s worse, more depressed than ever. Jay says to trust him. Pedro will be ok. But right now, Pedro won’t talk about what just happened. Jay doesn’t understand what he has against Carlos. He tells Fer she shouldn’t have told him just then. Fer didn’t want to keep it from him, nor have to hide her happiness from him.
Carlos takes a break from hospital duties, hoping he’ll get to see Paco. He gets waylaid by a self-labeled Miss Sexy Universe Bombshell. She tries to poison the happy place Carlos is in with Fer by suggesting Fer has a relationship with Dr. Farias. Carlos is in a hurry and doesn’t have time for her inventions. She follows him to his car. He tells her she’s behaving childishly. Whatever Isy has to say about Fer does not interest him. Isy says he’s being blind. Ok, Carlos rises to the challenge, how is she so sure Fer is cheating on him with Farias. She and Fer aren’t even friends.
Isy says she herself saw him in Fer’s house, very early in the morning. She avoids answering Carlos as to why *she* was at Fer’s place that early herself. Carlos is trying to get away from Miss Double-Wide Tight Flowered Halter Top. She still won’t give him an answer. Carlos sarcastically asks if maybe she’d been invited for coffee, too. Isy doesn’t appreciate the irony. She can’t look him in the eye while she goes on. She had to go early because she has a job and couldn’t go later. Still, he says, why was she there at all? She went to tell Fer not to play with Carlos’ feelings, not to fool him. Carlos sarcastically thanks her for her concern, he’s grateful, but he can take care of himself without her interference. Besides, he knows full well the only thing she’s wanted is to separate him from Fer. And that is not going to happen, because neither he nor Fer will allow themselves to be manipulated by anybody. He insists she look him in the eye. Nobody, that is, n.o.b.o.d.y. is going to separate him from Fernanda. [Of course, we all know that is a death knell, a superstition as deeply held by us as by brides whose grooms see them in their wedding gown before getting to the church. Oh, I’m so sorry, Clarita.]
Pedro is being released from the hospital after all. He’s telling Fer he has decided to accept Jay’s offer of staying at his house, at least to sleep, because during the day, he’ll be helping rebuild their cabaña. They share a couple of hugs and a couple of laughs. Jay gives Pedro and Fer the keys to his house and tells them to make themselves at home.
Carlos is finally reunited with Paco. Poor kid, he’s already had his hair cut short. Carlos promises to get him out soon. It can’t be that very day. He tells Paco he has to be strong. Paco says he can’t bear being shut up where there are no windows and he can’t see the stars at night. If Carlos can’t take him home, he’d rather be put back on the streets. Carlos tries to cheer him up. He reassures him he is his father. If these folks want a piece of paper to prove it, he’ll comply. He tells Paco he made him a promise to be his father, otherwise he wouldn’t be there, fighting for him.
The director herself comes to tell Carlos visiting hours are over and he has to leave. The kid needs a bath, change of clothes, check fingernails and hair. Carlos doesn’t want to let go of Paco and Paco gets taken and dragged off by Mme. Imperious.
Jay comes to see Adelina. She looks pretty sick.
Cesar pleads his case to an unconvinced Lupe. She thinks it was crazy for him to get married, when finishing school should have been his priority. He’s sure he can do both and work. H needs his two best ladies to support each other while he’s gone. Lupe remembers all to well, others who have gone up north for jobs and money and are never heard from again. Cesar finally sweet talks his mother into going to the bus station with them.
Marcos stops Carlos on his way back to the hospital. In short, Arteaga finds Don Fer worse and thinks Don Fer is taking some other medication than the one he prescribed. He has had other Alzheimer patients and he is sure of what he prescribed. Carlos is pretty upset by the news. He’ll go talk to them.
Carlos is confronting the family with Marco’s diagnosis that Don Fer is either taking some other medication that is affecting him or is taking something in addition to the prescription. Mariana protests they’ve been following the doctor’s orders. Without naming anyone, Carlos “accuses” someone of subterfuge. He wants to know who has been giving Don Fer additional medication. Mariana has a horrified look on her face (that someone has or will soon find her culpable). He announces he’s not leaving until there is some solution. Everyone looks at one another trying to divine the guilty party.
The only person who isn’t present to defend herself is now blamed by Mariana. It has to have been Amelia’s daughter because she was in charge of taking care of him. She must have been doing something wrong. Amelia reminds her that everyone knew Mariana was in charge of Don Fer’s medicines. Mariana claims someone might have exchanged the pills for something else. Carlos says that’s a much more serious matter, going from simple carelessness, to premeditated harm. Mariana renews her accusation that Amelia’s daughter fits the bill. She and Amelia start an unsisterly squabble. Blanca has to step in to stop them and brings them back to the issue at hand, Don Fernando.
Carlos stands up for Fer, despite Herm’s charge that he’s in love with her and would have supported her for that reason alone. Camila stands up for her friend and restates, that due to Don Fernando’s delicate health, Mariana jealously guarded and disbursed his medication. Mariana claims she didn’t carry them around with her 24/7. Carlos tells them Don Fer’s downward health status didn’t start just a few days ago, inferring it couldn’t have been Fer. [Besides, Fer has been MIA so often even after she started her job, but that didn’t come up.]
Carlos says someone has to pay more attention to Don Fer’s condition or Carlos will personally have him removed from this house. He’s putting them on notice. They can get a second opinion, if they wish, but for now, he and Fernanda will be his principal caretakers. His eyes will be on the household so nothing more harms Don Fer. He leaves.
Isy has showed up at Marissa’s since she couldn’t get the reaction she wanted from Carlos. She tries out her teary, hurt, love for Carlos act. Marissa, as if she didn’t have enough problems of her own, is exasperated. It’s the same thing, over and over, she tells Isy. Isy says she’s done everything to get him back, to the humiliating point of agreeing to become friends without any benefits. Marissa says she already told her Carlos won’t go back to her. Isy says yes, she lied, but she did it for love and he won’t forgive her, but that school girl? He forgives her even though she’s going with someone else. [It’s obvious now how far off her rocker Isy is, she’s got the whole story reversed. Fer wouldn’t forgive Carlos for “cheating” on her with Isy herself.] But Marissa’s curiosity is peaked. What does she mean? Isy means Dr. Farias has something going on with her. Marissa doesn’t believe her. Isy says Fer is still cheating on Carlos because she saw them with her own eyes, Jay was in her house early in the morning. They spent the night together.
Carlos and Jay have a not so friendly tête-a-tête. Jay is still steaming from his phone remarks to Adelina’s mother and Carlos is still steaming from his conversation with the Altamirano family. They both boil over when it comes to Pedro (who is standing in for Fer). Carlos finally says what’s on his mind. He wants to know what Jay was doing at Fer’s house that early.
Jay wants to know if it’s jealousy. No, Carlos replies, he’s very confident in Fer’s love. Jay says, then why? Carlos says that now that he and Fer are novios again, out of respect for the relationship, he should not be going to her house. Carlos tells him to get used to it, between Jay and Fer there is nothing. Jay says, oh, but there is. It’s friendship and that is something Carlos cannot destroy. Carlos says the only friendship Fer will have is with himself, Carlos.
Fer has to pass by Amelia before she can go to Don Fer’s room. Amelia says she needs her. She tells Fer she went to see Pedro, but he didn’t want to see her. No wonder he was so upset, says Fer, why did she do it? Fer has told her over and over it would harm him to see her. It’s her fault he’s in that clinic. But no, what he’s going through is not important to her, only whatever is important to Amelia. Her imprudence may result in Pedro’s not being released but if he is, she’s not going to tell Amelia where he’ll be because of the further harm she’ll cause him.
Amelia says that’s why she wants to talk to him. No, says Fer, Amelia must understand that the person who will cause him the most harm is she. Fer doesn’t want him to relapse and Amelia is to blame. She’s already done enough damage to him, so leave him alone. Isn’t it enough for her, living the life she always dreamed about? Money, a huge house, the love of her father? Amelia asks for Fer’s forgiveness, tears streaming down her face. Fer becomes somber. Fer says she already forgave her.
Amelia tells Fer how much she needs her, needs her as a daughter. Fer inquires in reply, how about all the times she needed her as a mother, but she was too angry with life to pay attention. Amelia wants to know if Fer has forgiven her, why is she being treated this way. Fer says it is a reflection of what Amelia taught her to be. When Fer was going through toush times, where was her mother’s love, affection, kisses, hugs. But does she know who did? Her father. That’s why she is with him now. Amelia is sobbing silently as she hears the truth from her young daughter. Amelia is the one who sowed the seeds of unhappiness in Pedro, whether she was aware of the harm she was causing or not. Harm Fer can’t remove. He’s a changed man. He’s a man Amelia created with her disdain and scorn.
Herm grabs Camila. He scolds her for defending Fer in front of everyone. Cam insists it wasn’t friendship, it was a matter of justice. Herm thinks she should be concentrating on conquering Carlos. He pokes her forehead (desgraciado). He’s disappointed in her. A father thinks only of his daughter’s happiness and her happiness is with Carlos (replace the word Carlos with MONEY). Cam tells him it’s too late, Carlos and Fer are back together and are novios. He says she’s pitiful and it pains him she’s such an empty-headed loser and he wouldn’t be surprised if the next servant in this house turns out to be Cam. What a deception, he says as he departs. Cam is in tears. She wonders what she will do. She loves her friend, but she also wants her father to be proud of her.
Blanca faces the seated tiger and says they both know very well who’s been giving Don Fer those strange pills. She can’t believe Mariana is willing to kill her own father for money. [Blanca hasn’t been watching enough telenovelas.] Blanca tells her money doesn’t buy happiness. She isn’t going to be happy with her sister’s leftovers. She’s envious of everything of Amelia’s, Luis’ love for her, Luis’ daughter, everything Mariana desired. Money will not solve those feelings of envy. Money will just be another burden in her life. Mariana tells her to shut up. Blanca continues—and that Hernán of hers will not rest until he takes it all away from her. That, says Mariana, is not her affair. Blanca says she ought to feel enraged by what she’s doing to Don Fer, but instead she only feels sorrow and pity.
Fer approaches Don Fer cautiously. He wants to offer an apology for everything he said to her. Carlos told him she was a good person and he trusts Carlos’ judgment. There’s something about Fer that makes him like her. They give each other heartfelt hugs. Blanca, passing by, sees this and is content he’s hugging his granddaughter even though he doesn’t know it is she. Fer cries. She has a lot of problems and is happy that Don Fer isn’t going to fire her. She needs the job, etc. etc. Don Fer wants to help her with her problems. Blanca has come back in the room. Fer thinks that as hard as she tries, she’s failing at everything and she’s not helping her father get better. He got very upset when she told him she and Carlos were back together. Don Fer would like to meet Pedro and talk to him. He thinks he could change his mind. He of all people, knows what it’s like to forgive a daughter (as Mariana looks on coldly).
Marissa and Ordoñez talk business. He’s prepared to go see the head of the company they will be considering for a large financial package.
Oh, my, Carlos and Jay are still at it, after all this time. Jay calls him back. In a normal tone he tells Carlos about Pedro’s crisis when Fer told him they had gotten back together. He just won’t accept Carlos and that’s the reason he wouldn’t let Carlos in to see Pedro while he was in the clinic. It was Pedro himself who requested it and also asked him to keep Fer away from Carlos. Carlos should talk to both Fer and Pedro to find out why Pedro hates him so much. It’s not normal. Carlos thanks him and leaves.
Mariana speaks up. She doesn’t like Don Fer getting involved in Fer’s personal affairs. There’s no reason for Don Fer to speak to her father. Don Fer tells Mariana not to interrupt. She explains she needed to talk to him about business matters, even though he doesn’t. Blanca steers Fer out of the room.
Well, well, who should they run into but Ordoñez, on his way to talk to the person Marissa sent him to see. He’s surprised to see Fer there. Fer explains she works there and introduces him to Blanca as the bank attorney who works for Marissa, Carlos’ mother. Blanca shows him to Don Fer’s room. Fer parks herself on the patio by the fountain to wait for Don Fer to finish with his company.
Iggy comes in and Mariana introduces him. Don Fer isn’t sure why he’s there. Mariana apologizes for not informing him earlier, but it’s about a bank loan for a project….but Iggy’s mind was wandered away from business. So, he ponders, Fer works in this house. He wonders if Mariana knows Fer is her niece and it doesn’t seem as if Don Fernando knows this is his granddaughter.
One thought before anyone might see Carlos as acting like a spoiled brat. I remember when my son and his future wife got quite serious about being together and even after they got engaged, a former girlfriend of my son's kept phoning him, writing him and wanting to get together for coffee, etc., without my DIL. She didn't like it. My son was just too nice to tell her to bug off, he was off the eligible list. She doesn't mind the friendships he forms at work or socially, but this was in a class by itself--a former girlfriend still pursuing him.
I sympathize with Carlos on that score. He DOES know Jay is around and still interested in Fer and ready to step in the first time he and Fer have a misunderstanding. Carlos will continue to have his suspicions until Fer tells Jay to bug off, but she's just too nice, so Carlos is taking the initiative.
We'll see how it plays out. Interesting that Jay offered Pedro his house and told Fer to make themselves at home. He wants to stay in the picture and have some daily contact with Fer.
P.S. Isy needs to see a head shrink. Maybe we could get an appointment with Jay for her and he'll turn his attentions away from Fer. Holy Cow, no, that's the wrong obsession to dump on Jay. It's still all about Fer and Carlos!!
"[Of course, we all know that is a death knell, a superstition as deeply held by us as by brides whose grooms see them in their wedding gown before getting to the church. Oh, I’m so sorry, Clarita]" and "unsisterly squabble" were among many favorites.
When I see children crying or acting too true to heart broken character in TNs, I get very upset. I want to think that they conjure up some horror movie memory as I can't bear the thought they are thinking of some real life painful fear or memory. "Paco says he can’t bear being shut up where there are no windows and he can’t see the stars at night. If Carlos can’t take him home, he’d rather be put back on the streets". Oh my. His "jailer" is enough to scare the staunchest soul. Let's hope the adoption process is greatly expedited so Paco can get home (steering clear of Luis of course).
I was also uncomfortable with Fernandas accurate words to her mother that seemed uttered without thought these emotional arrows were hitting their mark. And painfuly. "Amelia is sobbing silently as she hears the truth from her young daughter. Amelia is the one who sowed the seeds of unhappiness in Pedro, whether she was aware of the harm she was causing or not. Harm Fer can’t remove. He’s a changed man. He’s a man Amelia created with her disdain and scorn".
I'm still not sure Amelia knew the depth of destruction she wrought. Fernanda's words surely left no doubt. I believe Amelia needed to hear them and believe she also needs to hear them from Pedro's lips. But the fact Fernanda spoke so stoically was saddening. It as though part of her died as well. "Amelia asks for Fer’s forgiveness, tears streaming down her face. Fer becomes somber. Fer says she already forgave her". She has forgiven but has now buried any trace of the love and affection she had for her mother.
"Jay comes to see Adelina. She looks pretty sick". Yes, she looked terrible Anita. I hope Jay has been trying to treat her with fervor and dedication. Imagine her mother not coming to see her! Another poor excuse for motherhood.
"Lupe remembers all to well, others who have gone up north for jobs and money and are never heard from again". Of course she is right. What a shame he won't heed her advice.
Jay seems to virtually ignore Isy. I love that he didn't react to her confronting he and Fernanda. I wish Carlos could do the same but she is in his face at every unwanted opportunity. He has coldly dismissed her and told her he loves Fer. She will not go away.
I like to think Jay has pure motives for inviting Carlos to live with him but I suspect he does want to see more of Fer."Jay and Fer there is nothing. Jay says, oh, but there is. It’s friendship and that is something Carlos cannot destroy. Carlos says the only friendship Fer will have is with himself, Carlos". Such a silly thing to say but...Carlos has to fight daily to keep his relationship with Fer and Isy and Pedro are making it an uphill battle. Then, adding Paco, Don Fer's deteriorating medical condition, Luis and worry over his mother to the mix. He is dealing with too much.
Additionally, we haven't been privy to exactly how Jay feels about Fer and most importantly, is he willing to do anything untoward in that regard? We don't know if he is a straight up guy or not.I don't blame Carlos for being insecure and jealous. Too many walls ready to come crashing down around him.
I don't know where Amelia and Fernanda go from here. Passionate screaming and yelling denote there are emotions under the fire but cool civility may mean emotions are dead and perhaps unsalvageable.
Amelia, thank you for providing so much to ponder. And to savor.
Diana
"where was her mother’s love, affection, kisses, hugs"
I remain unmoved by Amelia's whining.
"Carlos says the only friendship Fer will have is with himself, Carlos"
I keep thinking Javier will go off the track (he may yet) but so far the guy is above board despite admitting he loved Fernanda (who wouldn't) and Carlos's constant acquisitions and taunts. Fernanda doesn't know it but with Carlos she will have a life time of him having jealous hissy fits with any man she is in contact with. Male professor, oops, guy at the gas station, oh my, coworker, get out the baseball bat. It won't even matter if she acknowledges they live or if the man is interested in her or not. He plucked her young from an all girls school and she's his property. Grow up Carlos. I wonder why La Toodle draws her galans like this alongside the virginal, young, naive in love, girls?
I'm really, really becoming distressed over Adelina. Somebody please help that girl she is dying before our eyes.
That xxxker Hernan and his finger to Camila's forehead. Errrrrrr Errrrrrrrr
Why can Fernando always remember Carlos but forget everybody else?
The worst thing in the world for a homeless orphan is not a safe clean place where they are fed. Compared to a mansion, personal cook and gocart racing, perhaps, but way better than a box.
I'm shocked Mariana hasn't killed Blanca.
I still harbor some suspicions about Jay's abilities as a doc. Adelina visibly deteriorating with each episode and nothing being done about it, and turning Pedro loose when he obviously still has major issues are two things that make me wonder.
Issy is losing all grasp of reality, and those around her are beginning to see it. For her, BSC would be an improvement.
Fer's reaction to Amelia's pleas was, for me, believable and normal. Amelia had twenty or so years to show even a shred of motherly love toward Fer, and steadfastly refused to do so. I would think that Fer's indifference is probably the best that she can come up with for her mother. And how that must sting Amelia; you can bask in love, you can mount a defense against belligerency, but how do you cope with indifference?
Iggy just keeps quietly gathering information and pondering how things are lining up. He will be the catalyst for something important, I think.
Luis is still his incompetent, sniveling self. Still trying to be relevant and failing at every turn, except when he can pull an underhanded stunt like getting Paco snatched out of the mansion and put in that dreary child care facility. I loved Amelia's dismissive attitude toward him. He'll probably have to go out and find some woman to beat up to make himself feel better.
I don't understand why don Fer seems to still have so much control over events when his mental state is so clearly not up to the task.
Thanks again, Anita.
David
I am so happy that pedro raised her. I am so proud of the young woman she has turned out to be, no thanks to her mean ass Mama. Who's maybe not as mean as she was, I think she has changed, but I think Amelia still has some progress to make.
Isabella needs therapy. The End!!!
Camilla needs to take a page out of her bff's book, get some guts and stand up to her greedy daddy, now it might get her a slap. But you gotta start some where with these meanass people. I think her and dr. Jay would be good good together, if he could get over his obsession with Fernanda. They are never gonna happen. He need accept that and move on.
I hope that sweet little girl in the hospital don't die. Its just pitiful the damage her parents have caused her. She looks like shes dying from cancer, what she's going through is just as bad, "unloving parents". Her spirit has been broken, no-acount-dirty uncaring parents.
☆★☆★Happy Memorial Day people.☆ And please be safe at the beach!!! ★☆★☆
Nina, I am hoping Adelina lives although I am very worried for and about her. Pedro, her steadfast rock (and caring supporter) seemed to be the only one there for her. Maybe Jav can talk some sense into her mother? I would like to see Adelina garner more support (Marissa? Fer?) and make progress in her therapy.
Diana
On top of that was his outsized obsession with Fernanda never finding out Luis Montero was her biological father and his extreme methods to prevent it. Luis seemed to be getting closer and Pedro became desperate. A formerly gentle giant turns into a rage-filled aggressor.
Then there is Carlos. He couldn't deal with the emotional storm. Fortunately, he got help when he needed it, even though he fought it.
I don't have a problem with the social workers removing Paco. They need a little time to investigate, to make sure he's not a pedophile or something, or maybe they need to attempt to find Paco's parents. It seems like Paco could live with Carlos and Marissa as a foster child until the adoption paperwork comes through. I noticed that the kids at the orphanage had no toys, and that's sad.
I didn't pick up on the wedding dress being a harbinger of bad things to come, but Cesar referred to La Bestia, or The Beast, which are the cargo trains that migrants from Central America take to come to the U.S. They ride atop the trains, and it's very dangerous. Did Cesar's father go to the U.S. and not return?
I think the doctors in this TN are pretty incompetent. Why don't they simply check the numbers that are imprinted on Don Fer's pills and do an Internet search to find out what they are? (This is a good idea for anybody whose pills suddenly look different. My pharmacy switched acetaminophen for aspirin once.)
And Doctor Jay, it seems he should have given Adelina some counseling on the spot when he saw her crying herself to sleep. Or at least a hug.
Thanks again, Anita.
