Un Camino Hacia el Destino-Week 15 (May 30, 2016)

EPISODE #68 (Mon May 30)
Blanca asks Fer if she’s ever been curious of who her real father might be? Fer answers no, never. Pedro is her only father. She doesn’t know what happened in the past. The important thing in her life is the present. That’s enough for her. They talk about Don Fer and how he was then and now. Fer thinks it’s funny he thinks he can convince Pedro to forgive Carlos, when he can’t forgive Pedro for what he supposedly did to her mother. Blanca says Pedro is a saint, everyone knows it, including Amelia. Fer says if only Amelia had told her father how things really happened back then, their lives would be very different. Don Fer would have Pedro on a pedestal.

Carlos arrives and greets the two of them. Blanca leaves them. Carlos said he talked to Jay and he told him about Pedro getting upset because he and Fer had reconciled. Fer doesn’t know what to do. Pedro just doesn’t want them to be together. He hugs her and kisses her.  He can see it’s causing her some distress and he’s sure that if he could talk to Pedro, they could clear it all up. Fer doesn’t think it’s a good idea. He was just released that morning.

Ah, Carlos has a light bulb moment. Jay went to her house early to tell her the news. Isabela told him. Ah, Isabela told him she saw them together. Did she tell him also she and Isy had a big argument about him? That crazy woman went on about how Carlos was going to cheat on her again and how Fer was taking his love away from Isy. Carlos does that cute little thing pressing her lips closed when Fer is starting to run on and on. He says to her she knows full well he and Isy broke up a long time ago. Carlos tells her not to pay any attention to her. No one and nothing is going to separate them now.  Carlos demonstrates with a very serious kiss, as Herm pushes Camila at them. Hermy tells her to get out there. Find a way to betray her. Is she going to get out there and defend her man, or does he have to do it for her. He tells her to go out and fight for Carlos.

Camila walks out into the patio, but walks right past them. Fer wants to go after her. Carlos holds her back. It obvious Cam didn’t want to talk to her. Fer explains they just patched up their problems and she doesn’t want another fight over him. Carlos asks her not to set him aside for Camila. Sooner or later she’ll understand. For now, he says, concentrate on the two of them, not to let anyone, namely Isy and Jay intervene in their happiness.

Carlos doesn’t think it’s proper for Jay to come to her house now. Fer teases him. He’s jealous. No, he’s not jealous. They keep it light, interspersed with kisses. Fer tells him not to worry. He should know that she loves him and he’s her one and only love. More kissing.

The two are sitting facing each other. Fer learns what happened to Paco. She feels badly for Carlos and for Paco. Carlos tells her Paco feels like he’s locked in a prison. He hopes Ordoñez will move swiftly with the adoption proceedings. Fer remembers that Iggy is there now with Don Fer. Fer gets up to see if he’s finished so they can talk to him. Carlos persuades her to stay with him for just a little while longer and pulls her towards him. He teases her that from now on, the only doctor she is going to have is Carlos. He will be her head doctor, heart doctor, her knee doctor.

Marissa has brought a very nervous-looking Isy to lunch. She reminds her of the condition she put on her for having lunch out—there is to be no talking of Carlos. They both see Jay lunching alone. Isy right away wants to go sit with him. Marissa holds her back. He may prefer to be alone. If he sees them and indicates he’d like them to join him, that would be different. Marissa excuses herself to go to the restroom and Isy immediately takes advantage to go and push an alliance on Jay to separate Fer and Carlos.

Isy points out the obvious, if he’s in love with Fernanda, he needs to get Carlos out of the way. He assumes she’s in love with Carlos. He notes they both have some bad luck, since Carlos and Fer are back together again. Isy says it’s not enough to let Fernanda take the love of her life away from her. She’s sure that love of theirs isn’t going anywhere because Marissa would never let her son and heir marry a poor daughter of a gardener. [I guess Jay doesn’t see the irony that Fer is not good enough for Carlos, but she’ll do for Jay.] At least Jay sees some irony. If she already has an ally, she doesn’t need him. So, asks Isy, does that mean he’s not interested in winning Fernanda? Jay says he wants Fer to fall in love with him, but not through any tricks and furthermore, how can Isy, a lovely, intelligent woman, resort to trickery to win the love of a man. She’s offended, but only charges Jay with being a coward. Jay says he does love Fer, but he would never do anything to harm her. Before this can escalate, they are interrupted by the restroom attendant looking for a Srta. de Leon.

Marissa seems to have experienced a minor crisis while in the restroom. The attendant had her sit down. Jay and Isy find her looking pale, but she waves them off saying she felt momentarily woozy and had blurred vision. Jay notes her pulse is very slow. Isy wants out of there. Marissa feels fine, until she gets up and nearly collapses. Jay tells her they must take her to the hospital to check this out. He grabs for his phone.

Don Fer can’t figure out what all this need for financing is about. Looking at Mariana, Iggy guesses Mariana should have talked to him earlier, since she had already approached Marissa. He informs Mariana he can’t approve anything since Don Fer is the head of the company and Mariana can’t speak for him. Mariana tries to pressure him. Don Fer says Mariana got ahead of herself. Iggy should talk to Amelia, who is now his right-hand person. If she agrees, then he won’t have any problem approving the bank financing. Iggy is surprised to know Amelia is there, right now. He looks at Mariana as he says he thought she was in Europe on a trip. No, she’s in the house answers Don Fer. They are only waiting for the return of his grandchild. He doesn’t want to force Amelia. Only she decides when that will be. Mariana says they are through here. Before he leaves he finds out where Amelia is working and will make an appointment with her for the next day.

Iggy emerges from Don Fer’s room to find Carlos and Fer together in the patio. Iggy assures Carlos the papers have already been filed and they just need to wait to hear word from the judge. Iggy then speaks to Fer. So, she’s working in this house now?  Yes, Camila got her the job taking care of her grandfather, so she can take care of the loan for her pa.

Mariana realizes things are getting complicated now. She wonders if Ordoñez knows Fernanda is Amelia’s daughter and also the daughter of Luis Montero. Ordoñez probably stole the will because he surely knows about Fernanda. She begins to suspect Luis’ motives now. He probably knows Fernanda is the sole heir to all this. [But of course, he doesn’t—at least he’s been told Amelia’s daughter, Fer, is Pedro’s, but in his scheming little mind, he might try to pass her off as Don Fer’s granddaughter. What irony! And I’m just ironing away before my trip, too!] If it is true, she says to herself, all is lost.

Iggy is left alone to contemplate what a small world this is. The daughter of Amelia and Luis Montero working in her own grandfather’s house…and with Mariana in it. Iggy doesn’t think Fernanda is safe with Mariana. He needs to find a way to help her without putting her in more danger.

Carlos finishes checking on Don Fer. They’ll have the results of his tests very soon.  Don Fer asks about the pills. Carlos is going to take Fer home, but Mariana says she needs to talk to her and sends Carlos on his way. Mariana escorts her out of Don Fer’s room. It doesn’t sound as if she’s going to play nice-nice this time. She very sternly tells her to stop involving Don Fer in her family problems. She doesn’t let Fer get a word in, in protest. She saw the two of them, hugging and crying. Then she heard Fer talking about her father stuck in the lunatic asylum. It’s not good for Don Fer to get that emotional. Mariana doesn’t care who brought it up first, there’s no reason for Don Fer to ever meet a crazy person. Fer says something in Pedro’s defense, but Mariana accuses her of talking back to her and tells her this is the last time she wants to hear her getting too personal with Don Fer.

Fer jumps up to leave, sees Camila, but Cam doesn’t want to talk to her. Fer leaves. Mariana turns her left-over frustration on Camila. She noticed Cam and Fer aren’t as tight as they used to be. First she wanted Mariana to dismiss Fer because she had taken her boyfriend Carlos away from her, but thought Cam had forgiven her for that, now she’s treating Fer like dirt. Mariana sarcastically offers to listen and give her advice.

Paco gets into a fight over a toy truck with the Shelter Bully. [You can tell he's a bully because he has on a dirty shirt.] Even though he’s smaller, Paco is a pretty tough little fighter. Two attendants have to break them up. They will both be punished for fighting. No one will listen to Paco who says the other kid started it by taking away the truck he was playing with. The kid tells the attendants Paco is a liar and to watch out for him. One of the attendants says they knew he was going to be trouble. It takes two to get him out and take him to the director. The dirty kid is completely forgotten.

Carlos gets home and finds Clarita in the kitchen talking to Lupe. They are talking about Paquito and his favorite food when Carlos gets a call from his mother’s cell phone, but it’s Isy. She knew if she called on hers, he wouldn’t answer. She finally gets through to him that his mother is on the way to the hospital.

Fer is revisiting Mariana’s words in her mind. She gets home and sits down, exhausted from the day’s goings on, just in time for another problem to show up. Amelia has come to talk to Pedro. Fer tells her he’s not there. He was released, but she’s not going to tell Amelia where he is staying. [This woman has a one track mind--Pedro or bust.] Amelia tries to convince her how important it is for all of them. Fer says, no, it’s only important for her. The most important thing for Fer is for her father to get well. Imagine that, she says, a daughter hiding her father from her own mother. Amelia plays the “I’m your mother” card and it hurts the way Fer is treating her. Fer is not moved. She says Amelia is the person least indicated to talk about harm. Amelia says she will try to understand, but she’s not going to rest until she speaks to Pedro. She swears she will find him.

Carlos reaches the hospital. Isy meets him outside and gives him an overview of the symptoms. Then she tells him, for maximum effect, that Marissa is being treated by none other than his sworn rival, Javier Farias. His mother’s life is in Jay’s hands. When Carlos asks why a psychiatrist, Isy says he just happened to be in the same restaurant

Leo is back and he’s having it out with Luis. Leo is hopping mad about some lies Luis invented and went to the press with. Luis is grinning away—apparently he put one over on Leo. Leo wants to know what the deal is, did Luis want Leo to end up in jail? What’s the problem Luis says, still grinning. Leo is exaggerating. Truths or lies are just how one looks at it. Leo says that for all the years he worked for the government he never took a dime. Well, says Luis, then Leo has nothing to worry about, if he can prove it, that is. [I think the Camino Community was left out of some hijinks by Luis. Let’s keep listening to these two.] Luis tells him to take all the time he needs. Meanwhile, he’ll do Leo a favor and console Andrea. The grin becomes a toothy smile. Leo is not about to let him do that. He and Andrea are planning a life together. Tee Hee, what will Leo do to stop him? Leo says, they’ll see and take care.

When Leo is gone, Luis shares with himself that he hasn’t gained much with this caper and though Andrea is quite a prize, his heart belongs only to Amelia, even though now she detests him. [Is he kidding himself or is he kidding us?] He can't deny the money she represents is an attraction. Amelia is the whole package.

Marissa is on a gurney, about to be taken in for a tomography. She asks him not to leave her. He won't leave her. She’s concerned that it must be something serious. They take her away. Carlos thanks Jay for being there and taking care of his mother.

Fer has gone to the Shelter-Jail to see Paco. The director gives her a hard time, since she’s no relation to Paco. Furthermore, that adoption isn’t at all certain. It might never happen. Fer doesn’t understand, when there is a loving family willing to adopt him. Mme. Imperious tells her she’s heard that story before. There are “nice” families who adopt children, merely to exploit them. That’s why they have to protect these children. [This is probably one of the few times Fer’s sunny personality has failed to sway the hardest of hearts.] Fer asks if she can see Paco. Mme. says she can't. He’s being punished and won’t tell Fer why. Fer tells the director is that this is not a prison.

Back to Mariana and Camila. She feeds Camila some incentives for hating Fernanda. She tells Camila that Fer can’t be trusted, she’s a hypocrite, carrying on with Carlos right under Camila’s nose. Camila says Carlos and Fer like each other. Mariana tells her she can’t let them make a fool of her. She needs to take revenge on her. She’s not to give her enemy any quarter. Camila’s eyes are glazed over—has she been hypnotized by Mariana’s words?

As Fer exits the facility, Paco sees her. He’s on a ladder and climbs down. Mme. tells him to get back to his job. Fer sees the bruise on the side of his face and Paco tells her the story of how one of the bigger boys hit him and then they blamed him. Fer turns to the director, he’s being punished for something he didn’t do? Mme. Director says Fer is nobody to tell her how to run her institution. Fer’s anger and resentment is rising. She’s going to talk to a lawyer about the violence here. [If Carlos’ imploring baby blue eyes didn’t work on this woman, Fer’s piercing angry brown ones certainly aren’t going to.] Mme. Director grabs Paco and tells her from now on, she’s prohibited from coming to the facility. She calls security. Fer takes a few seconds to tell Paco they are going to get him out of there soon. Paco looks after her longingly telling anyone within earshot this is his mother, Fernanda.

Carlos keeps trying to reach Fer on her cell phone. [Did we know she had one? Who gave it to her?] He’s trying desperately to reach her, while Isy is trying desperately to interrupt him. He’s very short with her. He tells her to go home, he’ll be staying with his mother. They are probably going to keep her overnight. Isy insists on staying all night, too. They have a short argument over how Marissa looked quite ill. Carlos would prefer to wait for the studies to come back.

Pedro has come to visit Adelina, as promised. She cheers up when she sees him. He’s brought her a flowering plant. He gives her some words of encouragement. Then the door opens and Ade’s mother comes flying in, very overcome to see her daughter in this weakened state. Jay is with her. He stands back. Pedro stands back. She turns to Jay and pleads, is her daughter going to be ok, save her, don’t let her die. She turns back to Ade and embraces her tearfully.

Fer does go to see a lawyer. She’s talking to Iggy. She realizes she made a big mistake acting the way she did at the institution. If he only could have seen Paco's face. The poor boy doesn’t really know what’s happening. Iggy says it may make the case more difficult. Legal matters have to be carried out with lots of tact. Fer feels awful. She thought she could help. [Ay, Fer, this lack of control thing must be genetic, but at least with Fer, she only loses control of her mouth.] Iggy will try to resolve this, but in the meantime, he suggests Fer not visit Paco again, if she can’t control her outbursts.

Iggy isn’t ready to dismiss Fer yet. He asks how her mother is. She teases how he asks a lot of questions. He doesn’t see anything wrong with asking about a friend. Now she wants to ask him a question. Is he in love with Fer’s mother? That question caught him by surprise. She reminds him of a pair of earrings she received from someone. Her father questioned her about them and scolded her for accepting them. Was he the one who gave them to her mother? Yes, he brought them to her from Spain. Poor Iggy didn’t mean for them to become a problem for her parents. He offers an apology. Fer said no, that wasn’t it. She was just curious. He mother is very lucky to have found such good men in her life, when she’s in love and fixated on one who’s completely worthless. Iggy sees an opening to maybe satisfy his curiosity. He addresses her about her real father...and before he can get another word in, Fer finishes his sentence, with…her real father is Pedro and only Pedro and she’s the daughter of the gardener.

Jay deals with Adelina’s mother. He says her illness requires the whole family’s care and support. Her recovery is in their hands. She needs her family. Pedro is still with Adelina. He notes the big change in her. No sooner than her mother walks in the door than she becomes animated. Adelina tells Pedro he’s been a better father to her these past few months than her parents did for 19 years. [Hmmm. Do we have a parallel story here?] Adelina seems to have taken Pedro’s talk about life and what it has to offer to heart. She may be on the road to recovery.

Carlos declines Isy’s offer to get him some food from the cafeteria. While he reflects on his mother’s condition, Iggy arrives. He was told by Clarita what happened to Marissa and he came right away. Carlos tells him they are still waiting for the results of the studies they made. They don’t have a chance to talk of anything else because Dr. Macias and Dr. Arteaga appear. They ask to talk to Carlos in private. They both look too serious for this to be good news.

Dear Fellow Caminantes:
Unlike Amelia, I do plan to attend my grandson’s high school graduation on Friday. This entails traveling by car to Boston and staying with the family in a full house. I won’t have access to a TV when I want to, so not only will watching be iffy, I won't be able to do recaps. I’ll try to read the comments, but not before Sunday. I’ll be returning very late the following Thursday night.

So here’s a schedule for May 30-Jun 3:
Monday, May 30 – will post early (!!!!!) tonight.
Tuesday, May 31 – I may be able to get something posted, but can’t promise.
Wednesday, Jun 1 – Anyone willing to sub?
Thursday, Jun 2 – Anyone willing to sub?
Friday, June 3 – NO CAMINO. There is fútbol on Univision.

I'm going to try posting just one Headliner this week. Please remember that by the time you get to Fri/Sat/Sun, our blog administrator has to review each comment (watching out for spam). It may take several hours for your comment to show up, depending on where Melinama is at the time.

If I can, I will post a second Headliner on Thursday, but if you don’t see one, keep commenting on Week 15.

Somehow I'll put up a new Headline on Monday, June 6.

Schedule for Jun 6 – 10:
Need guest recappers to cover all 5 weekdays.

I will have a marathon catch up fest after I get home. I’ll definitely be needing a Camino fix.

See you soon.
Anita

Anita, enjoy your time away with family! I will miss your recaps. Thank you for doing this. I don't think I would enjoy this novela without your amazing recaps! Even though I don't get to post much, I'm a big fan!! THANK YOU!

Tere

That's very sweet of you, Tere. I'm so glad you added your name to our little community of devotees. Please pop in again soon, even if it's just to say you are still watching.

Anita, a fascinating, detailed excellent summary.

"Paco gets into a fight over a toy truck with the Shelter Bully. [You can tell he's a bully because he has on a dirty shirt.]" and "[This is probably one of the few times Fer’s sunny personality has failed to sway the hardest of hearts.]" were among many favorites.

What I am stuck on this morning: "When Leo is gone, Luis shares with himself that he hasn’t gained much with this caper and though Andrea is quite a prize, his heart belongs only to Amelia, even though now she detests him. [Is he kidding himself or is he kidding us?]" I am speechless. Condescending, insulting and cruel - I refuse to believe a heart beats somewhere in his empty, self-absorbed chest.

I"ggy is left alone to contemplate what a small world this is". Indeed.

"Adelina seems to have taken Pedro’s talk about life and what it has to offer to heart. She may be on the road to recovery". I'm very thankful for this. But I'm confused. Didn't his mother ignore many earlier calls from Dr. Jav? How did he finally get her to come? I'm glad she recognized how helpful and caring Pedro is and how instrumental he is to her getting better.

It's too bad Mariana had to stir the Carlos pot yet again just when Cam and Fer had made up. And Hernan is just despicable.

Anita, thank you for crafting these with such care. You are truly appreciated.

"Unlike Amelia, I do plan to attend my grandson’s high school graduation on Friday". I hope you have a joyous time with your family.

We will be waiting for your return...

Tere, glad you posted.

Diana

Thank you, Anita. This was just great.

Boy, how different Mexico must be than the U.S. Seems to me that the least little complaint about how an institution is being run here is investigated to death here, yet this imperious bitch of an overseer at Paco's quasi jail gets away with anything she wants to, at least for now. But with Fer on the case, I wouldn't bet on her job security in the long run.

I was amazed at the instant turn around in Adeline's appearance and attitude at the arrival of her mother. Hope her self esteem blossoms with her mother's (I hope) new found attention to her. Maybe Pedro can take her out for a Big Mac, large fries, and a large coke.

Ugh! A possible alliance between Isy and Jay? Although he kind of put her off, to me the look in his eyes said that there might be an opening here.

I suppose that Marissa's health problems will prove to be something that is life threatening, but in the end completely curable.

Hernan's treatment of his daughter is beneath contempt. God, what kind of father does that? It does seem that, although she is acting strangely toward Fer, Cam realizes that what she is being asked to do is wrong. I hope she finds a way to stick it to both her step mom and her disgusting father.

Pedro didn't flip out once last night. Yay!!

What can be said about Luis? A rare, completely self-absorbed amoral sociopath. No empathy for anyone, caring only about the whims of his own current desires. He and Mariana would be perfect for each other. Neither has a soul.

Tere, welcome to our tiny patio. Hope you check back again.

Thanks again, Anita, and have fun at your grandson's graduation.

David

Anita, thank you for the recap and congratulations to your grandson!

I'd be willing to do bullet point recaps for the nights of June 1 and 2 - I'm not fluent enough to catch everything (which is why I love your recaps) - but if the patio can fill in my gaps, I'm happy to try. Unfortunately the week afterwards I've got a lot going on and there's a few nights I'll have to miss the show too.

Last night I laughed out loud when Luis referred to Amelia as the complete package.

David, agree with you on Hernan. That is some awful parenting going on with him.

I find myself a little intrigued with wherever they are taking Javier. With some of the over-the-top bad guys and gals on this show, it's good that he's not just blatantly evil, and in fact, might not be a bad guy at all, just tempted to become one.

My binge-watching kid who is still catching up (she's up to the medical hearing episode) is already laughing at the fact that Carlos and Fer can't seem to get more than one or two consecutive days of happiness in before something else happens to one or both of them. They really do seem to have some awful juju going against them.

Thank you Anita.

"if only Amelia had told her father how things really happened back then, their lives would be very different"

yeah, Pedro would still be Don Fernando's gardener

Javier has not done a thing wrong other than falling for a girl Carlos owns.

Iggy is awesome until I'm reminded he thinks Amelia a prize.

Oh, so many wonderful comments to keep this so far perfect nugget of a telenovela going.

dy77--Please, step right up and take a turn. I will make an extra effort to get on line to welcome your debut.

Anon from yesterday @6.23: "I didn't pick up on the wedding dress being a harbinger of bad things to come, but Cesar referred to La Bestia, or The Beast...Did Cesar's father go to the U.S. and not return?" If we've watched any recent movies, or even in the tn Que Bonito Amor, we've seen horrible scenes of La Bestia in action. I don't know what happened to Cesar's father. Does anyone out there know?

The bad luck seeing a bride in her wedding dress is a fully established myth, even among U.S. brides. This bad luck may just happen to Cesar. I got to like him a lot and would hate for him to just leave the show and never come back.

Also, about the pills. Now it's too late to check the numbers on the pills, even if they had thought about it, because Mariana already did her dirty work. If Carlos had taken a sample pill at the very beginning, Mariana would have been unmasked, but far too early for the story. I just hope Don Fer's condition doesn't deteriorate further by what she's done. He looked pretty chipper talking to Iggy.

Diana--Jay was probably trying to get Adelina's mother in for some time, off screen. That's why he blew up at her over the phone. (I didn't translate his comment, but the gist of it was that she shouldn't have had children if that was going to be the way she cared for her daughter.) I think it was his telling her Adelina might die that brought her in.

Also, I have no idea where that thought of Luis' came from. He certainly did not love her enough as a young college student to admit his share of the baby-making and be willing to change his future plans for fatherhood. Marissa offered what he wanted most, money and a leisurely life--with prestige thrown in. Let's not forget, he didn't have to work Marissa for very long. She was the one who proposed marriage and the opportunity to get his law degree in Spain.

As for Amelia, Mexican telenovelas are quite clear about "a child is a gift from God under all circumstances" and "abortion even under certain circumstances is not acceptable." Proponents of abortion are usually branded negatively (Mariana, Luis). We often get an emergency hospital situation and the cry is save my child AND the mother. And the docs usually do.

Where am I going with this? Don't really know, except that Luis was the lowest slimy slug to just walk away and leave Amelia to her own devices. He probably figured that coming from a rich family, it would all be resolved without his getting involved. Upper class unmarried single mothers are quite rare, whereas in the barrio they are not. (Please don't throw avocados at me--I'm speaking of telenovelas here.) That's what Amelia faced but, as the favored child, did not anticipate her father's reaction to her sullying her family's name and reputation.

It would have been a different story if Amelia had announced who the putative father was. Don Fer would probably hauled his ass in at gunpoint for a quickie wedding and that, at least, would have made the child legal. He might even have helped Luis financially.

Tofie--you are right, Pedro would still have been the gardener.

David--"God, what kind of father does that? It does seem that, although she is acting strangely toward Fer, Cam realizes that what she is being asked to do is wrong." The only very tiny benefit of the doubt I can give him is that he never really raised a daughter. Even after he married Mariana, Camila was always off to boarding school somewhere.

He's used to dealing with the men and women in the construction industry (maybe he even had a secretary on the side, who knows), but certainly not a teenage daughter with raging hormones.

He sees Cam as another commodity, an investment--loss or gain. He doesn't want to be responsible for her financially in the future and is bound and determined to attach her to some rich dude, in the name of "happiness." Carlos was the one nearest at hand. Unfortunately for Camila, she had expressed a false impression to Herm that she and Carlos were already (almost) novios, which made Herm double his pressure on Cam, not to let this fish get away. He sees Fer as a culprit.

I agree, Camila knows it's wrong, but she also had that mental debate about loving her friend, but also wanting her father to be proud of her. That is going to spell trouble.

dy77 and tofie--"I find myself a little intrigued with wherever they are taking Javier." "Javier has not done a thing wrong other than falling for a girl Carlos owns." This is at the core of the story, I believe.

dy77--you mentioned how your daughter is amused by the fact that Carlos and Fer don't have more that a day or two (tn time) to be happy before something else befalls them. We in Viewerville have been fed a steady diet of sturm und drang on every telenovela we watch. Put them together, pull them apart, get them back together and it's oh, so sweet, then oops, a misunderstanding and they are apart again. The tension builds, it's released. Then what? Oh, gotta have another situation where tension builds.

This story had to have a second rival. Isy on the loose, Felipe on the loose, Mariana and Luis on the loose, Pedro and Amelia on the loose. Camila and Herm on the loose. (Only Felipe bowed out early, so Javier stepped in to "take his place.") It would have gotten boring without someone else horning in on Carlos. He's just too fine to be left with the prize so early.

What would we have them do, get married and then what? He takes a position at a large metropolitan hospital and Fer either goes back to school and teaches violin on the side until the babies start coming. For some that IS an ideal world. Not for our Fernanda.

So, how to keep them from having the conventional dream come true? A serious rival. So far, Jay represents another ideal. Successful (that can be debated, ha ha), good looking, cares for others, is gentle and thoughtful and trustworthy, and very much like Carlos (except for the blue eyes). If Jay truly believes that he wants to win Fer's love without tricks, then he's a worthy rival.

Thank you all for the well-wishes for MY Pedro. He's tall, good-looking, on the swim team, plays the trumpet in the concert and marching bands, has a "real" circle of friends and will be off to Penn State in the fall with the "idea" of becoming an engineer.

Anita - Congratulations! I wouldn't miss it either! Have a wonderful trip!

The dirty shirt (so you know he's a bully) if that wasn't funny! I loved how Fer asked them where they were when he was homeless - that's what I asked.

Yes, Fer has a phone thanks to her auntie/godmother when the house first burned down and she lived at the school. She called the po-po to come get Don Fer.

David - Hernan's treatment of his daughter is beneath contempt. God, what kind of father does that? Yes, what the hell!?! How obvious can their relationship be? Does she have to drop babies and move to Monterrey before he will accept that Carlos doesn't want his daughter?

Marissa - what is wrong? I will admit that my first thought was that she is pregnant buy that bastard (remember that reconciliation where they showed us the start of a make-up session?). Dizzy sometimes means pregnant! I know she has issues, but I don't remember a hysterectomy being mentioned. I said, NOOOOO!!!
Am I a horrible person to hope it's cancer or something and not an adorable baby (I mean Fer is awesome, right?) Anything so that he doesn't have a chance at prolonging the divorce and having a better claim on that marriage. A child complicates things and she is still having mixed emotions. OMG! Rant over.

Isy, I've just accepted that she is a lost cause. I'm over it.

Amelia, if she is the whole package then they must sell her at the self-absorbed selfish evil rich bitch store.

dy77 - Thanks for taking the reigns. I will do what I can, but my Spanish sucks too!

I wish I could help next week, but I'm traveling Monday and on a totally different time-zone so not only do I not know when or what channel to watch, I won't have DVR to stop so I can type. I will try to comment (but if I miss Monday, then I won't watch until I return.)

Welcome to our Patio Tere!

Hi there. I keep trying to post a comment to say that I am a faithful viewer of this novela and faithfully await Anita's review of the episodes. It may be a small patio but that doesn't mean there aren't others like me who love the show. Helen

R-I-F--Thank you for letting us hear your voice. We understand there are many more out there who have been following Camino. It's just nice for us regular commenters to hear some new voices in the conversations. So glad you are with us.

Kendra--Marissa is unable to have more children. I believe she surprised Luis with the news after they got married and were in Spain. He was a bit put out he wouldn't be spawning, but he took her (and her money) anyway and said he was happy with her just the way she was (Great Big HA).

It will have to be something lingering and horrific in order to break up Carlos and Fer again. Don't know quite how, but some Camino script writer already knows.

Hi Anita, yeah - I remember her telling him that's why I figured they'd throw a monkey wrench and surprise (unwanted not now) pregnancy in the picture. Because why would they take precautions when they know she is unable to have children.
But we know this is a TN and stranger *crap* happens. Dead people come back to life, reversible hysterectomies, etc. So, I was devastated at the thought that they might try to do something like this to us just to complicate the matters.

I hope they don't break them up again. I can't take this crap. Try to break them up (okay), make them mad at each other (okay), dangerous kidnappings and imprisonments (okay), but break ups - NO! When I break up, no looking back! One reunion is ok, but after that...this just doesn't work!

Anita, Thanks for another entertaining recap. I had a really good comment but somehow It got lost so I had to do something short. But I'm going to come back later and write a another one. but thank you for the recap it was very entertaining.

Ok now, heres my thoughts, comment thoughts. Fer seems to he afriad of her tia (auntee). She intimidates her. Her dad Raised her to respect her elders, but enough is enough. Mariana is down right abusive, verbly abusive. I shall be happy when she throws auntee and her deadbeat hubby out of her house. Let cam stay, she really don't have any other family that cares about her. I wish she'd stand up to her dad, but she'd get a slap.

Im glad little paco can defend himself against the bully. It seems Mme. Director is a bully with a phd. She should not be in charge of a place like that. She seems to have some issues about the kids being adopted. Maybe she was left at an orphanage as a child. But she don't need to he takin it out on these kids. If thats whats happening. Fernanda is on time for her. And he was so cute "thats my momma". lol!!! And shes acting like a lioness defending her cub. I hope they end That adoption situation soon cuz theres so much other stuff happening. So many secrets to be exposed. Now marissa Is, or could deathly ill. Its one thing after the other. Ok thats all I got for now .Its almost 8:00 est.

Thanks Anita. :-)

Nina--"Maybe she was left at an orphanage as a child. But she don't need to he takin it out on these kids." That was a great riff on Mme. Director--a bully with a phd!

Recap is done. Just have to type it up. You'll have it in a couple of hours.

EPISODE #69 (Tue, May 31) Pt. 1
The doctors Macias and Arteaga tell Carlos Marissa is most probably suffering from muscular dystrophy. Carlos asks if they are sure. He can’t think of anything that could have brought it on. The drs. say it is likely it started a long time ago and these are the first observable symptoms. The only thing Carlos can think of was the difficulty she had giving birth to him. The drs. agree that it could have been an early indication, a weakening of the uterine muscles. They assure him Marissa could live an almost normal life. But as Carlos points out, she might also become completely incapacitated.

Diego and Lucero visit Fer at the shack the same evening. They tell her they’re going to get married and ask her to be their madrina. Rosaura appears like a ghost. She sees Diego and Lucero together and they take their leave very quickly. Rosaura learns Pedro is at Javier’s house, but for no reason does Fer want her mother to find out.

Chef Hawt and Fer are fixing dinner at Jay’s for Rosaura. Jay arrives to participate. Fer is super energized. Pedro notices how Jay steals looks at Fer. Fer is oblivious. They find out from Jay that Marissa is in the hospital and Carlos is with her. Fer asks Jay to take her to Carlos. They were supposed to see each other that evening and she needs to be with him. Jay takes her, much to Pedro’s displeasure. But he is also affected by the news that Marissa may be seriously ill. Rosaura picks up on this and asks if he feels something for Marissa. Of course he does, she’s a wonderful woman. Rosaura means the “special” feeling (aka the “in love feeling”). Pedro assures her Amelia is the only one he's loved. Rosaura points out how ridiculous it is for him to hang onto those feelings when Amelia rejected him and Fer and he’s the one now who doesn’t want to see her. Pedro agrees. He tells Rosaura how Amelia tried to see him at the hospital, probably just to annoy him and he refused to see her. She’s living the high life now.

Carlos tells his two medical colleagues he just can’t sit down with them and talk about his mother dispassionately, as if she were some other patient. He wants to see her. He doesn’t want them to tell her anything. He wants to do it himself.

Lupe is still with Clarita when Luis comes in. He’s his usual nasty self to both of them and demands his supper. He asks of Marissa’s whereabouts. Lupe tells him she was taken to the hospital, but they haven’t heard about her condition. The grinning jokester says maybe he’s in luck and she has something fatal. Then the house will be entirely his and he will delight in throwing Carlos out.

Amelia tells Blanca that Don Fer has been talking about her daughter again. Blanca says she should have expected it. Amelia says what is worse, he now wants to meet Fer’s father. Blanca nixes that right away. Too much fall-out and Carlos has told her Don Fer’s heart is weak. Mariana walks in and tells Amelia, with glee, that she’s condemned to be unhappy for the rest of her life.

Amelia wants to know why she would say something like that. Mariana says she was always a crybaby. She wasn’t happy with Luis or that simpleton gardener. They start to argue. Mariana says Amelia won’t do anything to her because she has her daughter in her hands. Blanca declares they will be there to protect Fer. Mariana has a good laugh—a daughter who wants nothing to do with her mother. For some reason, Mariana continues, Amelia hasn’t told Luis her daughter is his daughter. That’s true, answers Amelia, but she isn’t doing it for Mariana’s sake, but for Pedro’s, who is a marvelous father and no one has the right to tell her she’s the daughter of that low life, Luis. [I love how Blanca told Mariana that the devil himself wouldn’t have her as his doorman.]

EPISODE #69 (Tue, May 31) Pt. 2
Iggy waits patiently in the hospital hallway for word on Marissa. Isy paces. Jay and Fer arrive together. Isy greets Jay by saying she can see he’s in bad company. She takes some pot shots at Fer. She’s sure Fer is dying to know why she’s there. It could be that Carlos called her first, she smirks. Before she can get a rise out of Fer, Carlos shows up. Fer and Carlos reach out to each other. Carlos tells Iggy he wishes to speak to Fer first before he says anything about his mother’s condition. Iggy leaves. Carlos starts to talk to Fer but Isy interrupts. He asks her to leave so he and Fer can talk alone. She finally leaves. Carlos and Fer hug each other. They’ve left the hallway and are talking in his open air consulting area. Fer is deeply affected and concerned about Marissa’s condition. Carlos is an emotional wreck. He recalls how his mother was just fine when she left that morning and now this. Fer understands the anguish, based on what she went through with her mother and then Pedro. Carlos says that despite the fact he is a doctor, he doesn’t know how to face this. He’s visibly shaken and begins to cry. She embraces him with compassion.

Isy is busy sowing seeds of discord—to her advantage. She’s called Luis and told him to get to the hospital as quickly as possible and start acting like the concerned husband. Marissa doesn’t want to see him and neither does Carlos, so he can play the injured party, being denied his rightful place after so many years of marriage.

Rosaura asks Pedro again, how he feels about Marissa, but he doesn’t have to answer because Jay returns. Jay didn’t find out what was wrong with Marissa, but judging from Carlos’ face, it’s not good news.

Isy comes into Marissa’s room to pester her. She thinks it’s deplorable that Carlos hasn’t come to see her yet. Isy’s positive she has something serious. She saw the doctors with Carlos and he looked very concerned. She thinks Marissa should demand the truth from Carlos. All this does is upset Marissa. She doesn’t understand why Carlos isn’t there. Maybe he’s afraid to tell her the truth. Isy fans those flames of fear. Those doctors shouldn’t be allowed to keep on lying to her and deceiving her. Marissa makes Isy go look for Carlos as Dr. Macias and Dr. Arteaga come in. They want her to calm down. She doesn’t and they prepare to give her a sedative. That agitates her even more. The drs. ask Isy to leave.

Fer tells Carlos he needs to be strong. His mother needs him. Fer will be by his side, always. Carlos is not very optimistic. She tells him he’s a doctor and there are always advances in medicine. There may even be a breakthrough for this condition. He needs to have faith.

Isy finds Carlos as he and Fer share a warm kiss that serves to connect them and make them feel they are together in this new crisis. Isy manages to ruin the moment. She tells him Marissa has been desperately waiting for Carlos to show up and is very upset.

Luis, the Cad, slips in before Carlos can get there. He slimes all over Marissa. It’s obvious she’s been given a sedative. She’s very passive and perfectly calm. She asks him to leave her in peace. He gushes and promises nothing bad will happen to her. He lets his hand slide down over hers.

Isy is still scolding Carlos for hanging around kissing that schoolgirl while his mother is desperate to see him. Fer urges him to go to her side. She says she will get home by herself.

EPISODE #69 (Tue, May 31) Pt. 3
Carlos walks into his mother’s room to find Luis sitting on the bed. Isy floats in right behind him. Carlos asks Luis to leave. They agree, or rather Luis tells Carlos to let Marissa decide whether he should stay or go while Carlos talks to her. He reminds Marissa he’s still her husband. He urges her to tell Carlos what she really wishes, from her heart. Marissa looks at him very carefully and then tells him to get out. She wants to talk to Carlos alone. Isy leads Luis out.

In the hall, Isy sees Fer is still there and pushes Luis towards her. He greets his favorite little swindler. He reminds her she got some of his money and sooner or later, he’s going to send her to prison. Fer answers with no answer, out of respect for the fact he’s Carlos’ stepfather, even though he deserves no respect. She steps by him quickly. Isy tells Luis to take advantage of Marissa’s illness. She’s going to need support. Maybe he can even talk her into taking him back. They laugh at the prospect.

Pedro is ensconced in a luxurious king-sized bed, most likely with a box spring and a memory foam mattress, 500-count Egyptian pima cotton sheets, goose down pillows and a comfy duvet. He wrestles with his feelings for Marissa. She’s an angel on earth who doesn’t deserve someone like Luis.

Carlos has been very frank with his mother. There are medicines that will delay the advance of the illness and control the symptoms. Marissa listens and then dissolves into tears and into Carlos’ arms. She doesn’t want to die. He tells her she won’t die, with the medicines, therapy and the doctors, they’ll pull through. She has to be strong and trust him. They hold each other, both of them crying.

[I’m happy Herm practices good oral health, but I wish we didn’t have to share the visual.] Mariana talks, he mumbles. She’s telling him she met Ordoñez again, the guy who stole the original will from Luis. He’s a danger to their plans. It might even have been Amelia who sent him to steal the document. They’re good friends, after all. She wants Herm to persuade Amelia to approve the loan agreement. They need to get in Ordoñez good graces in order to get the will back.

Next morning Fer is serving coffee al fresco to Rosaura and Sor Sonrisa. She’s been telling them of Marissa’s diagnosis and prognosis. Carlos is very sad. She tells them Pedro is coming to work on the house. Sor Sonrisa will stay with her until Pedro arrives, then Fer can go to work. Rosaura leaves to go ring a bell.

At breakfast, Mariana pokes Camila about what she’s supposed to do about her little friend. Camila doesn’t want to do anything to make her feel guilty. She gets up to get to school early. Herm takes her place at the table. [I have to admit he's getting funnier with Mariana as this goes along.] Don Fer shows up, all dressed up and ready for the day. He’s decided to go visit Fer’s father.

Fer is telling Sor Sonrisa she’s still worried about Isy. She had said at the hospital it will be very difficult to get her out of Carlos’ life. Sor tells her Carlos has demonstrated over and over that he’s sincere in his feelings for Fer. Carlos is hers. She repeats it, Carlos is hers.

Anita, thought provoking and memorable recap of a pivotal episode. You write beautifully.

"Isy is busy sowing seeds of discord—to her advantage" and "Pedro is ensconced in a luxurious king-sized bed, most likely with a box spring and a memory foam mattress, 500-count Egyptian pima cotton sheets, goose down pillows and a comfy duvet" were among many favorites.

Amidst all the lying, scheming and screaming, last night reminded us of the overwhelming power of love. And pain. It was hard to watch Carlos wrestle with the health and mortality of his beloved mother. He can help with his physician power but is helpless emotionally. "Carlos says that despite the fact he is a doctor, he doesn’t know how to face this. He’s visibly shaken and begins to cry. She embraces him with compassion." How sad that it took this tragedy to bring Fernanda and Carlos closer. Pain and suffering of a loved one brings people together in an unbreakable bond. However sad the root of this, it is cementing Fernanda and Carlos' relationship.

"In the hall, Isy sees Fer is still there and pushes Luis towards her. He greets his favorite little swindler. He reminds her she got some of his money and sooner or later, he’s going to send her to prison". Die, Luis, Die...

The cozy dinner for 4 was interesting. It was painfully apparent Pedro was looking for the slightest hint of interest between Jav and Fernanda, which of course did not materialize. On her part...

Jav is playing it cool but I am still suspicious. Is he friend, foe or neutral?

Herm takes her place at the table. [I have to admit he's getting funnier with Mariana as this goes along.] I am also enjoying Herm and Mariana's verbal sparring. I have a feeling the actors are relishing this acrimonious interaction! I do feel for Cam though, she is between a rock and a hard place. I suppose we love our parents and want to please them (even if they don't deserve it). No one knows this more than Fernanda, right?

Perhaps we want Pedro to want Marissa (just as Pedro wants Fer to want Jav). I do think he cares for Marissa, but is it love? I hope so and that it's not just wishful thinking on our part. I am enthused the seed is now planted. That said, Pedro will also have to sort out his true feelings for Marissa. He will need to see her in order to do that and what happens then will be crucial to his future.

Marissa is the perfect example of bad things happening to good people. Thankfully, she will have the support of Carlos, Fer and Pedro. And hopefully, the magical TN fairy dust that often brings about hope. And miracles.

Welcome Helen! Hope you post again.

Anita, this was wonderful. Thank you.

Diana

I love your work Anita. Thank you

"Mariana says she was always a crybaby"

Those little things. Sor Sonrisa kept fanning the smoke away during the sunrise tea.

I just love Hernan and Mariana as they spar.

What doctor/s will not tell their patient the results of a battery of test choosing instead to sedate? If they stuck me with a needle I'd sue the white coat right off em. I hope Marissa finds a real doctor at a real hospital instead of these clowns that learned doctoring by playing Operation.

Stupid Amelia gave Mariana exactly what she doesn't want to happen.

What? A grown man lives in his own place, right on Javier!

Anita! Loved your retelling of this episode with all the shifting sands, intrigue, and treachery.

Isy is exasperating. She is like a urinary tract infection that keeps coming back, and for which the proper antibiotic hasn't been found yet. Her self image isn't like normal people; her whole psyche is Miss Universe, which, in her eyes, entitles her to whatever she wants.

At least Isy has the Miss Universe title to give meaning to her life. Luis has nothing like that. He has been a putz from the start, a hanger on who never manned the oars, defended the ramparts or stormed the beaches. I would like to know more about his upbringing. Was he given everything? Did his parents wish him to be this way, or did he rebel against their wishes and find a less taxing way to succeed in life?

Hernan and Mariana have become caricatures. Comic relief. I love watching them just for a few light hearted laughs. The perfect Wiley Coyote couple, their Acme Safe is a sure bet.

I loved Fer consoling Carlos, and Isy watching with steam coming out of her ears.

Diana, as you noted, we still don't know what to make of Jay. He is so hard to read. Also, l liked your observation that Marissa is a perfect example of bad things happening to good people.

I don't know what a duvet is.

Hi RetiredinFla/Helen. Hope you visit us often.

Thanks again, Anita. Great job, as always.

David

In addition to the recaps, what else makes me love this blog?

"What? A grown man lives in his own place, right on Javier!" (tofie)

"Luis has nothing like that. He has been a putz from the start, a hanger on who never manned the oars, defended the ramparts or stormed the beaches" (David)

I want to include all the other commenters in a general thank you too because the comments are like gold and just wonderful.

Diana

Thank you Anita - always helpful! I apologize in advance to everyone - will recap tonight and tomorrow but the recap quality is going to drop significantly I fear.

I found myself actually agreeing with Isy for once last night, when she broke up the kissing and told Carlos to go be with his mom. (Although I do think that Carlos really needed Fer's comfort and that they did a good job showing his conflict between medical side/human side.) That said, I completely agree with you, David, that Isabella is a horrid human being.

Diana, I too am hoping for the magical tn fairy dust to cure Marissa. I reached out to a nurse friend last night who is watching this to ask about the disease. She said that it's not normal for muscular dystrophy to just come on suddenly like the vapors, but to hear the diagnosis is normally quite sudden and shocking to patients. I thought Marissa's actress portrayed that part quite well.

Hi, dy77. I'll bet that you will do just fine in your recaps, and thank you for volunteering!

David

dy77, appreciate your relaying your conversation with your friend.

I did think that the disease came on too quickly to be typical. I don't recall the character complaining of any previous symptoms (?). I thought (and am likely wrong) that this disease strikes younger people generally. I agree that the actress handled everything perfectly (the cast almost to the person has been stellar).

No one is getting "out of this" unscathed, are they?

Looking forward to reading your upcoming recaps.

Diana

Anita, great job as always.

Muscular dystrophy?? So, more suffering for this wonderful woman who has never hurt anyone? Poor Marissa. I loved her scenes with Carlos last night, as well as the scenes between Carlos and Fernanda. Everything was heartbreaking. I hope the writers don't plan to have Marissa sit in a wheelchair for the rest of the TN, as a result of her disease.

So Pedro doesn't sleep at night thinking of Marissa? Ohh am I starting to see the first signs of a man who is a bit smitten here? Usually when people in TNs start asking the male hero "Do you feel something for her?" it's because he does. But Pedro will have plenty of time to process this new feeling before he acts upon it.

Isabela is completely insufferable (what a bitch! And am I the only one who finds this actress ugly?) and I personally like Javier. He has done nothing wrong until now, besides falling for Fernanda.

Where to start? Anita, fabulous recap as always. Of course, I thought one thing and you showed me that is not exactly what was said...makes it much more enjoyable the next day.

Anita - Pedro is ensconced in a luxurious king-sized bed, most likely with a box spring and a memory foam mattress, 500-count Egyptian pima cotton sheets, goose down pillows and a comfy duvet. OMG!!! That was a scene and you had me crying in this recap. I'm looking like I wish I had that bed and my how he has adapted while his daughter sleeps in a burned out hut.

Pedro being put on notice that he might feel something for Marissa - wishful thinking, but I hope his visit (which I'm positive will happen just because they are friends not a spoiler) will stir up more feelings. What they are, who knows?

Carlos and Fer comforting each other, loved it. The fact that a hairball rolled by to watch it made it even more special.

Lucy Lu - you are not alone. She really isn't beautiful, she just isn't ugly and she presents herself in such a way that you overlook the fact that she really isn't attractive. As Isy (and in Muchacha) she is unattractive inside and out.

dy77 - I too agree with the extra intimacy at this time, but they've been apart for so long that I forgive it because they needed each other (Carlos more so) and this is the way the affection presents itself. I look forward to your recaps.

Diana - I'm at the Die Luis Die table with you with a recorder in case our mouths get dry.

Poor Marissa, a horrible husband and now a horrible illness. She actually deserves the love of a good man because that louse she calls a spouse is worthless!

Anita, let me add my thanks for another stellar and entertaining recap. Thanks also for your, Diane and David's welcoming words. David, a duvet cover is like a pillow sham in that it encases a comforter. It allows you to change the look of your bed without needing to buy a comforter set. Hope this was helpful. Helen

Anita, thank you for all of your wonderful recaps. I have been reading them and the comments most days. Will try to comment a bit more.
I was a bit surprised at Marissa's diagnosis. My mother had an adult form of Muscular Dystrophy and lived to 78 without ever needing a wheelchair. Symptoms developed very slowly over 20 years or so. One brother was recently diagnosed and I have all of the same symptoms, but have resisted finding out for sure.

I don't think Isy is ugly. Actually, she is much prettier in this novela than in Muchacha. Better makeup perhaps? The actress is doing a really great job, though. Most nights we want to jump in the tv and strangle her!

Loving the ineptness of the villains, Mariana and Hernan. Can't wait for their pie cart, though. Poor Camila, she can't catch a break, having Hernan for a father. He must have been dropped on his head!

Have a wonderful time at your grandson's graduation, Anita. Be safe on the roads.

EPISODE #70 (June 1, 2016)

-dy77 here (you can just call me dy) pinch-hitting for Anita. I watch tns to try to re-learn the Spanish I learned in school way back when, so I'm very rusty and I may have missed a lot. So please correct me and fill in any gaps (I've noted a couple of scenes I could use help with). I've grouped some scenes together for convenience.

-Diego and Lucero pledge their love for each other.

-Pedro is at Javier's place. Javier tries to reassure Pedro about his problems and progress. It seems that Pedro might be wondering if he should return to the mental health facility. Javier doesn't feel that it's needed.

-Diego and Lucero talk about their love some more, but he seems worried about something (maybe being seen with her?) He seemed kind of sketchy and anxious to get away from her.

-Javier encourages Pedro some more. Pedro feels lost. He's worried about Fer and Marissa. Javier says that Fer can handle more than Pedro realizes.

-Diego and Lucero at the street market; then they look for wedding dresses. Way too soon in my opinion.

-Fernanda is sawing wood and helping Pedro with the house rebuilding. They speak very fast to each other, but the gist is that Pedro is newly inspired to work on the house. He asks how Marissa is, and Fer gives a response to the effect of the illness could be life-changing.

-Andrea visits Isabella's office. I think she is still looking for that job. Isy puts her off, and mentions that Marissa is ill and certainly doesn't want Andrea for her employee. Luis enters. (They may have been talking about him as he did.)

-Marissa gets a visit in the hospital from Fernanda, who brings flowers and offers her help. Marissa is down. Carlos greets them both, happy that he has a moment alone with his two favorite ladies. They take a selfie. It's a nice moment. Carlos reassures Marissa that they will make a good treatment plan.

-Luis accuses Andrea of insulting him (?) They bicker and Isabella for the second day in a row says something I agree with and tells them not to do it in her office. Luis leaves. Andrea cries and explains she still loves Luis.

-Luis brings Marissa some flowers and asks what Carlos has told her. She says "nada" at first and then just says something to the effect that she's sick of Luis. He reminds of her of their years together and sweet talks her.

EPISODE #70 (June 1, 2016) Part 2

-Amelia is meeting with Iggy, when a lady comes in to ask if she won't reconsider her agreement with Luis. Then Hernan comes in and I think he is quite upset about this. Iggy takes a lot of mental notes. I try to understand what this plot is about, so please help me in the comments.

-Marissa remembers their marriage was sad, but Luis continues to plead his case. She tells him things are bad. Pedro and Carlos come in. All the men stare at each other. After a commercial break, everyone wants Luis to leave, but Pedro decides he should go as well. Luis then leaves. Carlos again reassures his mom. After leaving the room, Carlos has a wordless staredown with smirking Luis in the hallway.

-Don Fernando wants to visit Pedro. Mariana is very unhappy about this idea and tries to talk him out of it. Fer arrives for her duties, but (I think) she asks for time off to work on the house. Mariana speaks angrily with her.
Don Fernando overhears and defends Fer.

-Hernan wants to loan money for the construction project (or somehow do something with the construction project - please help fill in this part) but Amelia declines. He gets angry. Iggy listens to all of this and then after Hernan leaves, offers some observations that were probably on point but I didn't understand them (Help needed).

- Iggy seems to be cautioning Amelia that she's a new executive. She thinks her decision was correct. Somehow they end up talking about Pedro, and Iggy wisely advises it's not realistic for Amelia to expect Pedro's forgiveness.

-Luis confronts Pedro on the street outside the hospital and insults him. They are about to physically fight, when Carlos interrupts. Luis continues baiting Pedro and Carlos has to restrain Pedro. After Luis leaves, Pedro gets testy with Carlos and points out that he doesn't want Luis in Fer's life (which would happen since Carlos is his stepson, not to mention other major plot points he doesn't bring up).

-Don Fernando tells Fer not to sweat Mariana and he tells Mariana basically that Fer gives him inspiration to get a move on and get out. Mariana has had enough and leaves for the construction site. Don Fernando mentions to Fer that he wants to visit Pedro but Fer says that Pedro can't have visitors yet (?). Fer tells Blanca that she's worried about Marissa, so Don Fer says that he will go with her to Carlos and Marissa's home. (I think. Basically he offered to go with her when she visited Mariana next.)

EPISODE #70 (June 1, 2016) Part 3

-Pedro makes an office visit to Javier to vent about Luis. Javier wonders if he is jealous of Luis. He also wonders if Pedro will forgive Carlos and accept that Fer loves Carlos. He actually lays down some truth to Pedro: Pedro can't change Carlos/Fer's love, or some other things. Accepting what he can't change will be key to his happiness.

-Carlos brings Marissa home. That awful Luis is there. He mentions a new job. Carlos goes to discuss medicines and what not with Clarita, leaving Luis and Marissa alone. Marissa tells Luis all his lies were bad. Luis continues to try to sweet talk her and proclaim his love and trustworthiness. stay strong Marissa. In the kitchen, Carlos and Clarita hope Marissa won't forgive Luis.

-Amelia and Mariana have a verbal showdown at the construction office. Amelia calls Hernan a coward. I will be honest - I did not understand this conversation (other than the fact that they hate each other).

-Don Fernando and Fernanda arrive for their visit. Carlos goes off with Don Fer. Isy arrives with a fruit basket she basically throws to Clarita, as she launches into her latest "Carlos is mine, you'll never marry him" lather, rinse, repeat tirade against Fernanda. I didn't understand her last insult but basically it was an insult so I'm not sure why Fernanda looked so shocked at the end by it compared to all the other ones.

End - but no avances -just the closing credits! Not sure if we have a show tomorrow (but if we do, I'll recap). Hope Anita's grandson's graduation goes wonderfully.

Hi, dy. From my standpoint you certainly hit all the high points. Thank you very much!

So you are watching this to brush up on the Spanish you learned in school? I have never been able to learn languages in an academic setting, and that is why I am watching tns. The ability to be drawn into these stories, wonder what is going on, look up words, then replay scenes so they make sense has helped a lot. I have a hearing problem so I depend totally on CC's to understand what is going on. The cadence of the speech in this tn makes it difficult for me to follow. I prefer slower speech.

Don Fer had an entire evening of being lucid, and made some telling decisions, didn't he? Putting Mariana in her place was a joy to watch.

Louie the Louse is back to his oily inveigling ways. I don't think Marissa is falling for his line of poop this time.

Amelia stood up to both Hernan and Mariana. I think that is an essential step in her return to normalcy. She couldn't very well become her own woman if she was constantly being brow beaten by her sister and brother-in-law. I hope Hernan resigns. Maybe he could take over Amelia's former taco stand as a way to generate income.

I have to say that Jay is beginning to gain my trust. Lots of his recent decisions and actions have been right on.

I did not understand Iggy's standoffish attitude toward Amelia. Is he put off by a woman who can stand on her own hind legs and fend for herself? Does he prefer some simpering, whipped down woman who he can protect?

The scenes with Diego and Lucero were confusing to me. Don't know where that is going, but I suspect that it is a set up for something.

Thanks again, dy. Great maiden voyage!

David

Thanks, David! I've always been a soap opera fan, so found a few years ago watching telenovelas is a fun way to relearn Spanish. I think Mar de Amor was the first one I really watched. Like you said, I get drawn into those stories, look up words, and yes, rely on those captions! Caray Caray has been amazingly helpful; I have read it for years. I do find that certain characters on this show do speak extremely fast (Fer especially) and it does make it hard to get everything.

I am getting a really bad vibe from Diego. Although I would say the Diego/Lucero plot feels tacked on and extraneous.

Javier is giving me better vibes as well. Still curious where his plot is going.

I didn't understand Iggy and Amelia's exchange at all. I feel like there is some back story there that went completely over my head. I also have thought for some time he had a thing for Marissa.

awesome dy you're a natural and thank you

Diego is strapped for cash and sold his car to pay for the wedding. He's worried since he's poor and Lucero is accustom to a high standard of living there will be issues.

I'll be back later

ok,

Iggy complemented Amelia on how she handled Hernan, professionally, and Amelia inquired why just professionally, he formally was interested in her as a woman (romantically), what has changed. Of course Iggy has put all the puzzle together and at least last night wasn't ready to tell.

There was also a conversation outside Marissa's home between Pedro and Carlos after swatting Luis away. Pedro said Luis wants to destroy his daughter and why he is opposed to the relationship. (Clever Pedro but not the whole story) Carlos countered that Luis is not his father but Pedro said but he is the husband of Marissa and it appears going no where.

It was cute when Fernando wanted Fernanda to go with to see Marissa, Fernanda protested that Luis despised her and Fernando said she could fill him in on the way and since Luis was in his employ he could tell him to zip it or leave.

Isabela told Fernanda that Marissa would never agree to a marriage to Carlos because she was a gardeners daughter and she (Isabela) was friends with Marissa and would always have access.

I also loved the conversation between Pedro and Javier. Basically you cannot make someone love you if they don't because people love who they love. I hope Javier takes his own great advise.

Awesome dy!! I was going to fill in your questions but tofie hooked it up!

I too like David and tofie loved the lucid day that Don Fer has had. He told Mariana that she is the only one who gets on his nerves, not Fer. And the if Luis doesn't like you, then he's fired. So Fer had a good day with Don Fer. I know it won't last, but her enemies are toast for now.

Isy - ugh!

Fer does talk so fast that I just can't catch any of her words. Love words to Carlos are easier, but otherwise (what?)

Javier, I just don't know. He does some unethical stuff and then he makes so much sense. Fer is your daughter not your property. BOOM!!

Now I'm really anxious about the possible love square with Amelia/Luis/Marissa/Pedro. He has now been confronted twice about possible feelings for Marissa. I'm sure, in his mind, there is no way! She is a high-class nice rich lady. He is a gardener from the other side...I can't have romantic feelings for her especially since I was treated like crap from a non love interest for 19 plus years.

Great job!

From Pedro's prospective all women love Luis. Well, they do or can't really shake the guy, so if all things were equal a relationship with Marissa would still be futile.

No truer words were spoken tofie. You are correct! Andrea confirmed that 'hold' that he has when she was talking to her so-called friend.

I don't know about anyone else, but DAMN Pedro! that body (and he's cute) have me thinking some pretty raunchy things. **I love my husband, I love my husband** I have to keep reminding myself - he's attractive and slightly built but he aint no Pedro. HA!

Thanks for faithfully keeping the recaps going Anita! I had a house full this past memorial weekend and my guests just left yesterday! I have not read through all the comments but did see we had new members Tere and RetiredInFlorida, ¡bienvenido!

This show is really popping at a smooth pace. I feel so bad for Marissa and I wish Pedro would just realize fully what he feels for her. I don't want him going back to bitchy bangs. I find myself so enthralled with Don Fer and Fernanda, the two are so touching together.

I will try to catch up on all the comments so I can add to the discussion a little better. A big congratulations to you and your son! Have a wonderful time and if recappers are still needed add me to the list. I can recap to night if one is still needed and I can fill in some next week if needed.

Ciao!

"I don't know about anyone else, but DAMN Pedro! that body (and he's cute) have me thinking some pretty raunchy things. **I love my husband, I love my husband** I have to keep reminding myself - he's attractive and slightly built but he aint no Pedro. HA!"

Lol Kendra, I'm with you!! Every time I look at Pedro I think of some very naughty things, and the funny thing is that I don't believe he is even aware of what a *hot* man he is.

Of course he will not accept that he may feel something for Marissa easily. And I don't blame him. After his experience with Amelia the mere thought that he may end up wanting a woman who doesn't want him *again* must terrify him.

Dy, thank you for your recap! Great job!

Delilah, thanks for the bienvenido.
Helen

OMG!! Yes, welcome RetiredinFlorida (Helen) Welcome to our little group! I start typing with the intent to remember and then get distracted at work and then try to just finish that thought. But so glad you stopped by!

Delilah63 - we are going to need you next week if you are willing. A few of us are traveling next week so if you can help recap, that would be awesome. I don't even know if I'll get to watch - so I'll probably be binge watching when I return.

Lucy Lu - I don't think he knows how sexy he is either.

Phoning in folks. Dy, great job! Good conversations. Don't think I will be able to watch tonight. Sniff.

Yes Kendra for next week I am able to recap Monday/Thursday/Friday for certain. Tues and Wed will be iffy, if someone else wants to take those.

So is tonight covered? Is someone already scheduled to recap?

Thanks Kendra

I believe dy volunteered for tonight. Tomorrow is soccer boohoo

Hi dy, you done good with the recap. You hit all the hot points. I just loved watchin granpa fer shut down mean Ol mariana. If this is what happens when he has a lucid day the writers need to find a way to keep him that way. Kick mean mariana And her deadbeat hubby out so she can't poison him with her crazy pills.

Im just really tired of seeing isy. Shes just filler, an annoyance, filler.
Does anybody know how many episodes before....I forget what its called, when it starts moving towards the end? Well I'll just watch until then. I loved when fer found out about who her family is, I'd like to see another pivetable moment like that. Like when fer finds out who her bio dad is. Louy the louse seems to be In fers face alot lately, maybe something likeThat is about to happen next. Maybe. We'll see.

Ok, lookin forward to the next recap. Thanks dy. Anita enjoy your family. High school Graduations are very precious memories.

Thanks all, next recap coming in a second! Thank you Tofie for helping me fill in the gaps. Tonight was a little harder to understand, so I'm sure there will be more to fill!

Nina, I can't/won't say spoilers but I can't resist reading/watching them either so I do know them. There is an awful lot going down in the next weeks. Zipping my lips now. I think in Mexico they are up to episode 93. I haven't heard how many episodes there are total though, or if they are in ultimas semanas.

EPISODE 71 (Thursday, June 2, 2016)

Combining some scenes together again for convenience. I had a harder time with this episode in terms of understanding some of the scenes; please correct and update me as needed!

- Repeat of closing Fer/Isabella scene from yesterday.

- Luis plots to himself, then tries sweet-talking Mariana again. She is resistant; he keeps pleading his case. She reminds him of Andrea. Isabella barges in looking for Carlos.

- Carlos is with Don Fernando, explaining that he must pass along Don Fer's case because Carlos needs to focus on his mother's treatment. Don Fernando is understanding and expresses concern for Marissa. Also, Carlos gives Don Fer some money and instructs him to give it to Fer as payment for her services (and not mention the source). (Bad idea, Carlos.)

- Fernanda is in the kitchen with Clarita and expresses insecurities after Isy's remarks. Meanwhile, Isabella whines to Marissa about Fernanda taking over the house. Marissa says she's sure Fer was invited by Carlos. Carlos then comes in with Don Fernando and Marissa is grateful for their interruption and happy to visit with Don Fer.

- Fernanda and Clarita discuss married life for Clarita. Luis is very annoyed to find her in the kitchen and starts yelling at her. That brings Carlos in a hurry and they get into it, almost to the point of physically fighting. Fer restrains Carlos and Luis leaves.

- A nun calls for Lucero to come speak to her mother. Her mother wants to take her on a cruise. Lucero refuses to go.

- Don Fer speaks warmly about Carlos'"novia" to Marissa in front of Isabella, who is disgusted. He's basically trolling Isabella, which makes me laugh pretty hard. Marissa gets a kick out of it too. Isy leaves and Don Fer and Marissa have a good laugh about it all.

- Fer feels bad that Carlos and Luis were fighting because of her and again the insecurities kick in.

- Luis muses to himself that it stinks that Fer is the heir, rahter than his hija.

- Pedro is working on the house. Jose is happy to see him and will help him. Sonrisa shows up to sing them a song, They enjoy the song. Then Rosaura shows up with food. All happily work, eat and sing.

- Fer stops by Marissa's room for a short visit. They have a pleasant chat. After Fer leaves, Marissa's face droops and she thinks to herself sad thoughts about her diagnosis.

- What seems to be later or the next day? Iggy, Carlos and Marissa are in her living room discussing plans for the bank and its assets. Marissa says that Carlos is in line to be the next president of the bank and that she wants Iggy to prepare him for this role. Carlos is all, "Um, I'm a doctor, remember?" but Marissa says something to the effect of it will help her feel better if she knows Carlos is prepared for this responsibility. Then she drops the bomb that she wants to stop formalizing the divorce. Carlos and Iggy exchange shocked looks.

- Luis and Isabella in the meantime are having a nice, schemy meal. Luis is plotting away - I think he intends to use Marissa's illness to his advantage. He's still mad about his credit card being frozen and is plotting to steal control of the bank.

- Amelia and Blanca have a short conversation - she's glad that Don Fer and Fer are getting along so great. Blanca says don't go so fast and reminds her that Fer is not into a nice house or wealth.

- Camila is doing her homework but there's no time for that in plottingville! Mariana comes in and basically tries to get her to ally with her against Fer. She also tries to get information out of her about the little caper they pulled on Luis at the beginning of the telenovela.

- Luis and Isabella continue to plot, drink red wine and bash Fernanda.

- Fernanda, Lucero and Diego are at a different restaurant and Pedro joins them. Diego and Lucero are having a secret wedding (yikes). Diego mentions his family doesn't know and can't be there because they live elsewhere and don't have the internet. (Red flag IMO) Pedro doesn't share my cautious instincts because he immediately offers to be the best man. Fer will be the maid of honor. Pedro buys tacos for everyone.

- Leo and Andrea are in his place. He declares his love and is very sweet to her. She hesitates and tells him she doesn't want to get too serious. Right then, the door knocks and it is two agents who arrest Leo for crimes committed (I'm sure by Luis). He tells her to call a lawyer. She muses to herself that Luis is behind this.

- Mariana and Luis are on the phone call and the bashing and plotting against Fer resumes anew.

- Carlos and Fernanda are at the taco place and have the cutest date ever. She is thrilled with the money Don Fer gave her. Carlos worries she works all the time, but she reminds him she likes to work and earn money and be responsible for her own life and problems. (Uh-oh, given that Carlos gave Don Fer this money.) She basically tells him that he doesn't need to handle things for her, she can do that herself. (Aw, good for Fer.) Carlos then tells her he does want to give her a cell phone (with an adorable photo of them as the screenshot). She accepts the gift and they kiss those great kisses they kiss.

- Marissa thinks more very pessimistic thoughts. Luis comes into her room. She has something to tell him...

- Night before Diego/Lucero wedding. They are excited. He is cleaning up his messy bachelor pad.

- Diego/Lucero wedding, with Pedro, Fer and Sonrisa there in the church as they exchange vows.

- Reception at Pedro/Fer house, at a little picnic table outside. Just the wedding party plus a few school friends, but it's nice. Fer breaks out the violin. (It's funny because when they show her from behind, you can see the wireless mike has been taped inside her dress.) After the song, more toasts and kisses. Then, Lucero's mom arrives and breaks up the party with the announcement that if Lucero wants to be a grown up married lady, she will be cut off financially.

Avances for Monday: More Luis and Isabella plotting. Carlos frets to Fernanda about his mom and Luis. (No show tomorrow due to soccer.)

Hey, dy, just great, again!

Oh, God, Marissa is going to give Louie the louse another chance? Another chance to do what? Wound her to the core of her being?

Luis appears to be still using his lawyer skills to cause trouble, this time with Leo. Loved Amanda realizing this. Hope whatever lawyer she calls for Leo has some investigative skills and will become aware of, and expose the fact that Luis fabricated this situation. I would love to see Luis disbarred for misconduct. That would get rid of his "esteemed attorney" self image.

Quite apart from Marissa asking Carlos to take over the bank, he seems to be drifting away from medicine to be able to take care of his mother. I'm sorry that he dropped Don Fer as a patient.

I think that we all chuckle when Luis vents against Fer and wishes his daughter was in her shoes. I just can't wait for him to find out that this object of his hatred and vitriol is his path to wealth, and that he blew it.

The Diego/Lucero wedding was touching and beautiful. I was surprised that they got married in the church; I thought they were going to run away and have a civil ceremony. Lucero's mom showing up was a cold blanket, but telling; it screamed out that the relationship they have together as mother and daughter is not based on love, but rather money.

I wish someone would give Pedro a few bucks to buy a white shirt so he wouldn't have to wear that cheesy T-shirt under his sport coat.

I laughed when Pedro was thanking the singing nun and grasped her head, getting her white veil all dirty.

Thanks again, dy. Great job.

David

Thanks David! Yes, I am really looking forward to Luis finding out some truths about Fer and in the end, getting his well-earned anvil.

Also agree, I wish Carlos had kept Don Fer on as a patient. While understandable, I'm worried about the old goat now, since Carlos was monitoring the medicine and thwarted the bad dosages. Don Fer made me smile a lot yesterday - best character of the episode award for him!

I'm not as down with Diego and Lucero but the wedding/reception was nice. I am just not convinced that this is a great relationship; of course, the show has not spent much time showing me that it is. That said, David, you nailed it about Lucero's mom. All about the money, that one. Another toxic parent.

I was so disappointed in Marissa on the divorce thing. I really hope Carlos can talk her out of that. I also hope she opens up to someone, maybe even sees Javier again, because she needs to let people see that she is feeling so pessimistic and get some emotional support (actual support, not Luis' fake sweet talk).

Dy77, thank you so much! I got home late last night and fell asleep during most of the show. I hope I didn't erase it yet; I would like to see the Diego/Lucero wedding. Two bodas so far ... and hopefully more to come!

I'm also getting red flags on this marriage. What difference would it make if Diego's family doesn't have Internet? Can't he pick up a phone?

And the business about him selling his car is very suspicious. I suppose he had to pay for the wedding and reception, but as old as he is, he ought to have a little money stashed away by now.

Something fishy is going on here. Maybe he has a wife and children in another town, or maybe his family are members of a drug cartel.

Now that Lucero is of age and married, her mother really shouldn't be expected to support her anymore. It's time for Diego and Lucero to take some responsiblity, especially if he wants her to be a stay-at-home mom with enough children to field a soccer team. I just hope that Lucero's mom will step back in to offer support if things do fall to pieces for the girl.

Thanks again, dy77!

back to back winners dy. thank you

Bank CEO & doctor doing internship = same thing

Ok, all we need now is Amelia to wade into the impending cat fight for Luis

Whew, I thought for sure Carlos would lose it over Pedro staying with Javier.

The Diego/Lucero thing is painful to watch. Night before they marry and he needs to pick the place up a bit. Hope the bathroom is clean.

Thanks, dy77 for your enjoyable recap. "...and they kiss those great kisses they kiss." was perhaps my favorite line. You described Carlos and Fer just right.

I loved Isy stomping out of Marissa's room when Don Fer correctly identified her as the mean girl she is. She must have been a scary teenager.

Agree about the wedding of Diego and Lucero. There isn't anything overt, but the hair on my arms prickles a little. Can't be good.

Pedro got on my last nerve, sanding what looked like burned wood, right next to the crochet / macrame "door." Dude, somebody worked hard on that. Move it out of the way! Sheesh! When Sor Sonrisa sat down with her guitar, Mike and I both started singing Dominique, by the Singing Nun.

It's only a telenovela, it's only a telenovela... but I really need some of NovelaMaven's 'nerfazos' to throw at the television! These people are nuts! ...and it's catching!

Dy your recap is good. The episode..... people makin bad decisions, Marissa canceling the devorce, not good. I wouldn't be surprised if the bottomfeeder gave her something to simulate what she has. Its happened before. Sometimes these writers shouldn't drink that super stronge plot twistin coolade. Of course the louse is twisted enough to do that. Ok down hill from here for marissa, poor thing.

Love grandpa when he's not going to another universe. hope he stays normal for a while.

Isy, louy, mariana, herny....just plain NASTY. Ok Im at publix, catch yall later.

Dy, awesome! I agree with everyone about Lucero and Diego, but Aleta gets the active mind of the day award. I hadn't thought of anything like that!

That Don Fer and Icky exchange...perfect. Oh next week is going to hurt but i will stay up by reading the wonderful recaps and fill in with the pictures later.

Dy great job with this efficient and to the point recaps. I've been super busy lately and I so appreciate you holding it down.

I'm probably going to sit alone at a table, but I'm really getting annoyed with Pedro. He's just way too whiny vaginy when it comes to Fer and her relationship with Carlos. Dude really needs to give it a rest already. Fer is not a little girl and she's not something to own. I understand he's protective of her but this is what happens when you build a house of lies. Someone either Bitchy bangs or Pedro needs to come clean with Fer. I think Pedro wants to protect Fer from Luis, but I think there's also a selfish, "she can only love me" type of possessive love going on here and it's very bothersome. Fer can decide for herself who and what Luis is and Pedro should know who Fer is. She's going to meet her bio father and realize she lucked out having Pedro. I really hate all the lying.

WTF with Marissa? Is she that desperate and vulnerable that she would take back a horrible hateful man like Luis? Forget that he just cheated on her, but there were also all the vile things he threw at her. That no one would want her, she had gotten old and that he never loved her, but only married for money. C'mon Marissa...you need another examination of your brain. That MD doesn't stand for Muscular Dystrophy it stand for Major Dummy!

Leo needs to slow his roll...I mean didn't Andrea just start dating him? Why do all these men start throwing around ILY's after a few kisses and then wham...Marry me!

And I have never like the Prof and Lucero together. The mom might be mean as a snake but I think she smells a rat with Diego. Lucero def needs to be cut off. She's too young to be getting married and to a dude who was teaching her 1+1's. Yeah something isn't adding up alright.

DY I can recap Monday, Thursday and Friday of next week. No can do on Tuesday or Wednesday. Do you want to recap those days? or anyone else?

Stellar job once again!

Thanks all. I can recap Tuesday. Will be at a concert Wednesday night and unable to watch (I do have the show on the DVR, but I won't be able to get to watch Wednesday's episode until late Thursday. So if anyone else wants to recap Wednesday, go for it.)

Good morning everyone. Haven't had a chance to savor all the comments yet. I have a bit of time and will see if I can put up a new discussion page for the coming week.

Delilah & Dy--You can post your recaps as comments, as you've been doing. Thank you all. Volunteering to recap is greatly appreciated.

dy77, thank you for these incredible recaps. You are a gifted, talented writer.

"Pedro doesn't share my cautious instincts because he immediately offers to be the best man" had me nodding in vigorous agreement. I wanted to be more enthused about the wedding, but really, all we have seen of the couple are some yearning looks and a few stolen kisses. Still, we haven't been privy to Diego's background or family life so I am a bit uncomfortable that he might be hiding something. Wouldn't it be refreshing if he weren't?

"Luis muses to himself that it stinks that Fer is the heir, rather than his hija" had me smiling. Indeed! Wait until he finds out he has been abusing the golden goose.

No need for me to comment on the absurd possibility Marissa would take Luis back. You did it quite nicely Delilah with "That MD doesn't stand for Muscular Dystrophy it stand for Major Dummy!" Sigh...

Kendra, I'm right with you "next week is going to hurt". But, we can't wait, right? ;)

dy77, thank you so very much.

Diana
