Sueno de amor, #63 Friday Espe is dying, Salma has a dying wish and Estrella is in mortal danger. The guys are mostly alright, though

Sorry for the delay, but here is Friday's recap.

For those who missed it the first time, we get another dose of kids violence, when Tracy screams at Selena and almost slaps her. Fortunately Anastasia is not a soulless bitch, too, because she defends the girl and after, she even reproaches Tracy her treatment. Mom of the year has no problem saying that she is bored and she despises her children, especially her daughter.
Selena runs to her room, crying with Rod and the maid, saying how much she misses her dad.

Estrella is with Sanson. She doesn't have the guts to hit him on the head with a pan, because she's terrified, but she becomes even more so when Sanson takes her picture and tells her what he plans to do with her: sell her to the highest bidder, because she's a hot commodity, being a virgin and so pretty (Damn you, Erasmo!).
Sanson adds that Estrella is five times more expensive than Erasmo's debt and if she says no, Kiko will suffer the consequences.

Adrian is daydreaming about Estrella, when the doctor comes to tell him that he needs to talk to Salma about the baby. He is reluctant to accept, because she loves him and he can't even stand her. The doc promises to bring him Estrella if he agrees, so he accepts.

Ernesto and Pato explain Esperanza how Luca helped the Gallos with their home, but then Erasmo refused the same help with Kiko's operation. Pato feels that there is something about this story that Erasmo is not telling her and she wants to call him, but he doesn't answer.
Left alone with Espe, Ernie gazes at her adoringly. Getting back to her parents, Pato (and her tiny, toddler clothes) looks very pleased with dad's affections - it's obvious for her that Ernie luuvs her mom.

Estrella takes Kiko to the rehabilitation center. She makes him promise not to tell Erasmo that Sanson stopped by. Of course she tries to brush the whole thing aside, too, and the Gallos, with their keeping deadly secrets to protect one another and especially Kiko, are starting to get on my nerves. What these kids need is a grown-up to set them all straight and offer some true protection - by now it has become more than obvious that Erasmo has totally failed as a head of the family.
Kiko starts his rehabilitation with a guy named Tobias. He does some exercise and water therapy and Estrella is there to help him, but Kiko can tell that her mind is elsewhere (being on the verge of being sold to a human trafficker can do this).

Now alone, Esperanza and Ernesto continue to talk about their new relationship. She still feels very uncomfortable with him, she has a hard time seeing him around after everything that went on between them. He is happy just to be close because he loves her and wants to take things one day at a time. Espe reminds him that she only agreed to his presence for her kids' sake, so that they won't be left alone when she's gone. But nothing will ever happen between them, because she still loves Ricardo. It broke her heart the other day when Ric said that he finally accepted their separation and she has moments when she just wants to tell him the whole truth, lean on him and have one less sorrow to deal with, but where would be the drama in that  she can't hurt him like this. What she has to do is accept the separation, too, and move on. Ernie is impressed with her sacrifice (and very pleased, too, since it is totally in his advantage).
The doc calls with news about the operation. He asks Espe to come see him. By the way he looks, he doesn't have good news.

Ricardo is at the battered women shelter. He is offered to help women by talking with them and even if he thinks that he, being a man, could make things a little bit delicate, he agrees. He will also do physical exercise with them and some self defense classes.
But Ric needn't worry about the women being scared of him, because when he does his first class, one of the ladies is swooning as if he were a slice of hot candy (which he totally is).

At the school there is a reunion about how to save this fine academic establishment without the help of school saver Cristina VV. Those who care about seeing Margarita in a love triangle with Felix and Gonzalo Santillana can tune in for this scene. The others can just ffw through it.

Salma arrives to see Adrian. Under the doc's watchful eye, they start fighting about who is more to blame for the situation (Salma, according to Adrian!) and who has less to suffer from it (Adrian, according to Salma!)
She is all about getting fat and nausea and her usual nastiness, while Adrian rightfully points out that SHE BROUGHT THIS ON HERSELF!!
Yes, but she only did it because she was in love and she is the one who is suffering all the consequences, while he is sitting here, getting his whatever "treatment". She wants to take an abortion and win back her old life.
Adrian begs her to reconsider, they can give the baby up for adoption; she can at least take some time to think things through. Being too quick to act is what put him in the mess he's in now, so she should really take some time to figure things out.
Salma starts screaming that he doesn't understand, she's in this on her own and she will have an abortion no matter what he says. The doc has to intervene, because she is out of control and then she finally leaves. At least Adrian is showing signs of improvement...

Aranza keeps watching the sex video. She sees clear signs that Luca had no clue that he was being filmed. But Pato doesn't want to look at that mess one more time. She's pissed because Luca promised to fix things between them, but he hasn't called the whole day.  Ara reminds her that Luca now had huge job responsibilities, but that doesn't faze Pato. (Need we remind her that Luca is working extra time so that Ernie can coddle HER mom 24/7?) She's all about me, me, me, my pain, my mom is sick, my fiancé is not communicating with me.
Just then Luca calls. Still at work, signing some documents, he wants to come see her, but she's upset, it doesn't look like he wants to fix things between them, they should see one another tomorrow.

Salma and her friend talk about the private abortion clinic that they found. Only problem: the operation costs about 10.000 pesos.
Later on Salma goes and steals the money from Margarita's purse. She and Felix are asleep in bed, but she is having Gonzalo nightmares.

In the morning Luca and Viviana almost faint with pleasure while eating some Lala Cheese. He has to run, though, work and Pato await.

Cristina comes to visit Sandra. The poor girl is inconsolable, she can't forget the nightmare she's been through. She wants to leave the shelter, find the desgraciados who ruined her life and kill them one by one. Cristina looks terrified, but I say: Go for it, girl!

Ricardo has his meeting with the judge. She is all but totally against his cause, she has files of his attack on Erneso, his dangerous police work and Tracy's so called testimony about him being a bad husband and an even worse father.
Ric all but begs her to reconsider, give him another chance. He gave up on his police work, now he's only a school teacher and he was always 100% devoted to his kids. He brings photos and documents to prove that he was always the parent in charge of the children's upbringing.
The judge still doesn't seem convinced - he's proven to be violent and a hot temper. Then Ric plays his final card - why doesn't she ask the kids who they want to be with? He is sure they will side with him.

Which is very accurate, since the kids want nothing of Ernie's gifts or Tracy's bad treatment. They are rushed to school by the maid, because Tracy is about to have one of her motherly crisis and even Ernie can't stand to see her mistreat her children like this.
What is wrong with her,  why can't she settle on fixing her life? He can give her money, help her go back to Africa.
No, Tracy prefers to abuse her children if Ric is out of reach. She's pissed with Ernie because he's so happy with his Esperanza, while she hasn't managed to destroy her ex, like they'd both planned. Ernie thinks that Ric is already destroyed because Espe left him, so all is good in his world. (Now if he could only get rid of this pest of a partner in crime...)

Margarita and Salma are having breakfasts. Salma gets the millionth speech about keeping the baby, how selfish she's being and how an abortion will jeopardize her life. She doesn't seem to care about any of this. Margarita asks her why didn't she use protection, then? Isn't she curious to know the baby, make a couple happy by giving them the chance to be parents?
Felix shows up to whine about Gonzalo, but Margarita convinces him that she is only in love with him and her ex could eat dust for all she cares.

Erasmo is angry because he doesn't have enough money to pay back Sanson. I just can't with this guy.
At the same time Estrella receives her almost death sentence from Sanson. In two days time she has to be ready to leave, or else both Kiko and Erasmo will be dead.

A true death sentence is the one that Esperanza gets. She goes to see the doctor with her kids and he tells them that in spite all of his efforts, he could only schedule Espe for the operation in two months. Pato and Pedro are desperate, their mom doesn't have all that time to wait, can't the doc understand that her case is urgent?
Yes, he can, but there is nothing that he can do. There is a long waiting list of other terminally ill patients who are waiting for their turn, there is no space available to take her sooner. He has a private clinic where he can treat her in the meantime, pro bono, but this is all he can do for them. They would still have to pay for the machines, the other doctors, the after-treatment and 9 days of hospital time. Pato and Pedro are heartbroken, while Espe is trying to find a way to pay for all of this. One thing, though: she forbids her kids from telling Ernie a word about needing the money, she would rather sell the school land. What about your dream, Pedro asks.
Well, there is no dream to be had if mom is dead, right, you dummy?
Duhhh!!!

Joins us next week for another batch of what are sure to be very gloomy episodes.
Will Estrella be sold or saved?
Will Salma die or be saved from her own stupidity?
Will Erasmo banish from my screen? (can't stand the guy)
Will Espe tell Ric the truth? (LOL, like she would ever!)

Thank you very much! Every single line was worth the wait!

I couldn't help laughing out very loud when I heard Ricardo tell the judge that being a ''secret agent'' he KNEW HOW TO CONTROL HIMSELF IN TIMES OF CRISIS!!!!!!! Well... if that's how he controls himself, I wouldn't like to see him when he is not doing it!

Esperanza could have asked the doctor, are you performing a surgery or an autopsy? I have a friend who has been waiting for a kidney for 9 years, but he has the option of dialysis. Someone who needs surgery just to see if they can live 3 more months can not wait that long.
Is this for real or are they stretching it just for the drama's sake?

Thanks, Adriana. Excellent! Your last line about that "dummy" Pedro sure nailed it.

Pablo, I read somewhere this weekend that this was the novela to watch if you needed a drama fix.

Human trafficking exactly : Estrella being sold and shipped to Tamaulipas. Joy! Joy! All this is about to happen as Erasmo is still contemplating his money situation. It does not take that much time to count what he does not have. Kristel luckily escaped that entanglement.

Salma wanting Adrián to act as if he were a conscious participant in the sex they had? The girl has more than one screw loose.
Margarita asking Salma (now also a thief but that could be okay if she just got the abortion so we could drop her and her sordid storyline already) about protection? Please! Evidently Margarita does not know the whole sweet story about her dear rapist of a granddaughter.

"Ms. No Secrets" Esperanza now wants the family not to tell Ernesto that she could really use some money to have that three month opportunity to live. Does she realize the situation she their "loving mother" is putting them in?

It is evident that Tracy is more than wearing thin on Ernesto. Feeling secure that Ricardo is now out if the Esperanza picture maybe Ernesto will somehow help Ricardo get the kids back so he can throw her out.

My favorite scene: Margarita and Félix all tucked in "prim and proper" in their bed. I am enjoying the comic relief more than the actual plot.

Thank you for the recap.

What is that saying about "it's better to ask for forgiveness than for permission?" The Guerrero kids should just go for it and tell Ricardo the truth about Esperanza. She'll certainly be upset at them for a while, but they will have made her last days (if Osorio kills her off) happier than she would be with Ernesto ... DUH!

Adriana, wonderful recap. Truly helped sort through this oh-so-complicated storyline/musicale. As have all the recappers, who have done truly noble deciphering this strange, strange tale.

Now we await yet ANOTHER love interest and story thread? Will the new folks also be able to sing and dance? All the while developing new threads post espionage and into child abuse, domestic violence and...slavery?

How long does all that delay "fini"

When does this thing end?

Pablo, thank you for your excellent recap which I just read. You always seem to make me smile in appreciation despite the grim content.

Adriana Noel, I also wish to thank you for this sensational summary.

"Espe is dying, Salma has a dying wish and Estrella is in mortal danger. The guys are mostly alright, though" summarized this to a "t". "But Ric needn't worry about the women being scared of him, because when he does his first class, one of the ladies is swooning as if he were a slice of hot candy (which he totally is)" was my other favorite.

I really don't know what to say. I'm with you and Jarifa in being rather disgusted at Erasmo. All that hawtness. All that stupidity. Here I was admonishing Kristel for choosing Pedro and the truth is "Kristel luckily escaped that entanglement" as you so wisely noted Jarifa.

Not sure if I should be more revolted by Tracy's abusiveness to her children or by the possibility of Estrella's being sold into slavery. One heinous event after the next. "Kiko can tell that her mind is elsewhere (being on the verge of being sold to a human trafficker can do this)" nailed it Adriana.

So Espe lied to Ricardo and now she won't tell Ernesto the truth. I think it's terrible she is forcing her children, who desperately love her and want to save her to lie and keep these abominable secrets.

I'm getting as ticked off at Espe as I am about Erasmo.

I am praying Estrella talks to anyone who can help her.

Diana

Doña Felipa, your guess is as good as mine. If it is a typical 130 then we are still a couple epsisodes shy of the halfway mark.

Does Orsorio have a thing for portraying child abuse/abused children? Every child in this TN are subjected to abuse or hardship of some kind. I don't recall any of his other stuff. ,If I saw it, it didn't make an impression. I feel sorry for the little girl who plays Ricardo's daughter, when Tracy screams at her she looks terrified.

I am thinking Orsorio is a sickie, with school age girls and grown men, and selling Erasmo's sister to the highest bidder. What kind of a mind offers this as "entertainment?

I have a theory

Osorio is in the payroll because they need somebody to make this kind of crap so the rest of the novelas, that are also very bad, look good in comparison, LOL!!

That's the only way they can say, this and that are the best
Yes, compared to what?

And then they give them the TVy novelas award!

The only reason I watch this TN and keep watching is because I love to read the recaps... Y'all do am amazing job writing... Hats off to all of you...Elsa

Nice to know you are out there, Madame E! Thanks for the kind comments.

Thanks, Adriana! Totally agree that Erasmo has turned into a total disappointment. What a waste of good packaging! And the Gallos all need a competent adult to give them some guidance.

It is aggravating to me that in all of everyone's attempts to help Adrian and get Salma to be decent and get them to cooperate with each other or whatever, no one EVER manages to grok that Adrian did not consent to having sex with Salma! Adrian probably isn't informed enough to identify what happened to him as rape, even though he felt violated, but the therapist should be able to sort this out. Could he please ever SAY, out loud, in the presence of a responsible adult, that he did not willingly have sex with Salma, he just wasn't able to stop her? It's not his fault that he lives in a telenovela and that being passout drunk wasn't enough to render performance impossible.

RE: child abuse, I don't think I've ever seen an Osorio show that didn't include child abuse. It was egregious in Porque el Amor Manda and Mi Pecado, definitely happened but to older or more minor characters in Una Familia Con Suerte and Mi Corazon es Tuyo. Weirdly, though, Mi Pecado was actually a really good show; it's hard to believe it was an Osorio production. Maybe because he wasn't trying to make a comedy? It was very dark, but tightly scripted, not a lot of fluff and plot wandering, and the characters were really well portrayed. Sabine Moussier (Kracy) was a crazy harpy bad mother in that one, too. Perhaps he should go back to dark dramas and give up on trying to make comedy out of his preferred themes of abuse and murder.

Thanks Julia, will try to find Mi Pecado, as believe it or no t am a Sabine Moussier fan. Will stick it out with Sueano as always watch to the bitter end.
