Sueño de amor #65 Wed. 6/8/16
At the Nueva Luz shelter, Ricardo is still at it with Cristina and they continue bickering but finally stop to collaborate on trying to find Sandra the lost girl (with revenge on her mind). Cristina is concerned about her because she has suffered so much. Sandra is not from Mexico City and is not at her home in Puebla either. Does Cristina know of some place that Cristina likes in the city where she might have gone? She does not remember so Ricardo asks her her name as a kind of distraction that might help her remember. After fighting this technique at first, Cristina introduces herself. Ricardo looks surprised as he recognizes her as the super duper expert in pedagogy that Bárbara Santillana has been trying to track down for a while now which he tells her all about. Rodrigo explains his surprise by identifying himself as a teacher at the Instituto Palacios. He also tells Cristina, not wanting to offend her, that at the Instituto Palacios she already has a reputation as a witch. Well, she is offended but Ricardo's distraction technique worked because in th she does remember Sandra's favorite place. She looks happy about that but not so happy that his technique worked.
At the Guerrero house, Esperanza and Pedro are still talking about accumulating money for her surgery and treatment. Pedro reminds her that Viviana's offer is all well and good but that a sale like that takes time and they need the money ASAP. She needs her surgery ASAP. They need to sell the spinning bicycles and get the money from them right now. Pedro will put an ad on the Internet. Esperanza is worried about all the time she is going to miss teaching. She will need to make some story up to tell the school, too, so Ricardo does not get suspicious.
At Ernesto's, Tracy and Anastasia are still discussing. Tracy talks about how scaring her beastly kids is the only way to control them. She is an expert in domesticating animals. She cannot wait to see Ricardo's face when he hears that the kids spoke so well about her. Suddenly a light bulb goes off in Tracy's head and she announces that has come up with a great idea. She is off. She will see Anastasia at 9:00 p.m.
At Luca's office the phone rings and Pato tells Luca better that he take care of business and they can talk later. He wants to just take the call and then they can go on talking afterwards. It is important to him. She agrees it is important but she is just too tense due to meet mother's situation. She feels like crying all day long. The phone is still ringing. He grabs her hands and wants her to know that eventhough there might be a thousand things going on at work, he is always thinking of her. They kiss but then Luca has to spoil the moment by asking why were she and Erasmo hugging. She explains it was because she had managed to get the money Erasmo needed from her father. Erasmo hugged her in gratitude. "Gratitude?" Luca asks. Pato is getting upset and wants to know what Luca's problem is. Begoña the secretary comes in to remind Luca he has a call. They agree to see each other tonight. Luca is still annoyed. Pato moans to the secretaries on the way out that Luca is jealous of Erasmo. Who understands men? Begoña tells her nobody does; not even themselves.
At the Gallo household, Erasmo is fixing his hair with some gel and thinking of Pato and how he should NOT be thinking of her at all.
At his apartment, Ricardo is on the phone talking to Baxter with a folder full of info on the missing Sandra (whose last name is Novales) in front of him. Sandra is 24. He is going to send Baxter her picture. Ricardo has also been to one place where Sandra might have been. She was not there. Suddenly the door bell rings and cuts his call short. Tracy has come to pay him a visit. She rips up the summons right in front of his face. Ricardo says it does not matter because she has to take the kids to court tomorrow and the kids are going to tell the judge the truth about her and him. Tracy warns him that he is not going other his way on this one. He disagrees and reminds her she has always known that the kids were better off with him than her. (There is a nice closeup of her phone in her purse so we know all of this is being recorded) On her way out, she tells him that she has a real surprise for him. Nevertheless, she will give him one last chance if he cancels the whole matter with the judge. "Mr. hands" Ricardo starts to lose his cool and grabs Tracy by the arm so he can get in her face. He wants her to know that if she dares to try to take his kids away he will kill her. Tracy breaks free and says she just knows how much the judge would love to hear him threatening her with death. Ricardo informs her that Selena told him all about what happened yesterday and if she ever dares touch the children, she will be dead. Her last words out the door are about how much he is going to love the surprise she has for him.
At the Guerrero house, Pato and Kristel are working on homework, making sandwiches and talking about sex. No, Pato has not had sex with Luca and now thinks that was a mistake. Pato is worried about not having sexual experience and being a disappointment to Luca. The video brought all of this up. It turns out Kristel had sex with Erasmo but still has not done anything with Pedro. Kristel has it bad for Pedro but there has just been too much going on. Kristel tells Pato not to worry because when she and Luca finally do make love it will be spectacular just like it was for her and Erasmo because they were in love. Pato tells Kristel all about Luca getting jealous when Erasmo hugged her to thank her for helping him out with his money problem.
Anastasia comes back to Ernesto's apartment as planned where Tracy asks her For a favor: to punch her in the face. Anastasia punches Tracy in the face and knocks her on the floor.
Ricardo is out of the street tracking Sandra. A vendor saw her a little while ago. Baxter is helping him out as they track her by security camera footage from the streets. Back at the shelter, Irene is on the phone with him and is getting all upset because they cannot find Sandra. Ricardo keeps introducing himself to the strangers on the street as an "EX" police officer/agent from Interpol. (So how does that further legitimize his actions in the eyes of the public? Does not "EX" mean "is no more"?) the long and short of it: a couple of Sandra sighting but no Sandra.
Erasmo shows up at the Guerrero house. Pedro does not look happy to see him but lets him in When Erasmo tells him that Pato has a check from Ernesto for him. He then gives Erasmo a heads up that Kristel is there and by the way she is his novia. Pedro goes into the kitchen where Pato and Kristel are to let Pato know that Erasmo is there for the check. Kristel is surprised and says "Erasmo?" Pedro sees the expression on Kristel's face when she finds out Erasmo is at the house and promptly accuses her of still having feelings for Erasmo. She denies it but Pedro insists it is always the "same old same old" with her. Kristel doubts herself and wonders why Erasmo still has an effect on her. Pato gives Erasmo the check. Pedro goes storming on by to his room. The door bell rings and it is Ernesto who wants to see Esperanza. Erasmo thanks Ernesto and promises to pay him back. Kristel comes out of the kitchen to say hello to Erasmo. He is not interested. He tells her that he feels nothing for her. His love for her is dead and she killed it. Ernesto talks to Esperanza and explains how much he loves her and does not want to lose her.
Ricardo is still searching for Sandra on the street. Baxter lets him know that the security cameras have lost her. Out of no where Ricardo thinks of Cristina and wonders why she is like she is.
Tracy is begging Anastasia to hit her in the face again. Did she not agree to help her? Anastasia said yes but this thing is just getting to be too weird for her. Tracy then comes up with the idea that Anastasia be her witness. Anastasia is not too sure about that either until she hears Tracy say that that would put Anastasia in Tracy's debt. That perks her up. Tracy pledges any kind of help to break up Pato and Luca. She will do whatever Anastasia says. Tracy begs Anastasia to hit her again.Anastasia accepts the training and practice. Anastasia cannot get into it, Tracy tells her to think of her as Pato to get her into a punching mood. Anastasia gets into the fantasy and lands several good ones. She even kicks Tracy when she is down and has to be reminded that the damage has to be done to the the face please and not the body.
Pato is on the phone with Luca. He will be there by ten. Unfortunately, he is running late because of work.
At Margarita's, Salma is stealing more money and valuables from Margarita's room. Astrid is the lookout.
At the rehab hospital Adrián is working out and talking to his doctor. He was troubled by the special call she allowed him to make to Estrella. She did not sound right like something was wrong on the phone. His doctor says he can call again next week. Adrián wonders aloud: what if next week is too late?
At the Gallo house, Estrella is trying to comfort Kiko in his disappointment about Salma. Kiko has come to the conclusion that people do not care about what you feel just what you have. Estrella tells him he is wrong she would die for him, to protect him and pull him out of the pain he is feeling.
Salma is in her bed counting up how much money she has and she still is short for the amount needed for her abortion but she still has a watch to sell. Tomorrow is the abortion. She has the address of the clinic. Her friend Astrid is afraid to go with her. Abortions scare her.
In the living room Margarita and Félix are on the couch as she is doing a "he loves me, he loves me not" with a flower. She determines that the "bigotón" Félix loves her. Mario is waiting until she is finished to talk to her. Margarita wants him to tell Viviana to come over for dinner to her house tomorrow. That way she can see the progress Mario is making with her. Mario is all smiles. Margarita and Félix declare it will be a four course meal that Félix will be in charge of. He can show off his culinary gifts. It is going to be a formal dinner party so they feel like they are in a luxury restaurant. Mario will be sure to ask Viviana. By the way, Mario wants to know if anyone has seen his watch. It is missing. Nobody has seen it.
At Viviana's, her maid Eufro wants to know why she is so radiant. Viviana says it is from good food. Eufro thinks she is in love. Viviana says no. It is her next project and Mario is coming over to show her the plans. She is going to be a philanthropist.
Back at the Guerrero house, Ernesto professes his love for Esperanza. He would give his love for her. She apologizes but she feels nothing for him. He feels like he has gained some ground with her because at least she does not hate him anymore.
Erasmo finally leaves the Guerrero house. Pato gets a text from Luca that he will be by at 11:30 now. She texts him that she is tired and going to bed.
Mario and Viviana are going over Esperanza's dream school plans. She tells him all about buying the land and being partners with Esperanza. She feels like she has a purpose. She is just beaming. Mario asks Viviana to accompany him to the dinner party in her honor at Margarita's. She tells Mario that he has to learn to value himself. He is a great guy. They are just about to kiss when the maid interrupts them with tea and honey.
Ricardo is back at the shelter where he tries to cheer up Irene saying that some people have seen Sandra and tomorrow she will probably turn up at the park. Ricardo says tomorrow is going to be a great day for him because his kids are going to testify to the judge and then she will know the truth. Irene hopes he will be able to get his kids back. He will go back out to look for Sandra as soon as he is out of school tomorrow. He then asks Irene why Cristina has the attitude she does. What happened to her? Irene says that is confidential information. Cristina will have to tell him herself.
It is the next day, early morning. At the spinning studio, Pato, Esperanza and Pedro are discussing money for her operation. The doctor will give them an estimate. The money from the bike sale will be a good start but will not be enough. Just then a man walks in and is interested in buying the bikes. They tell him the price is fixed to what was advertised on the Internet.
Ricardo arrives at the judge's office. So do his children who are visibly upset nd Tracy with her swollen and black and blue face. Virginia the secretary takes the children out of the meeting. Tracy tells the judge that this savage Ricardo is responsible for beating her.
At Erasmo's, Erasmo is all happy that he can settle his debt with Sansón. Estrella says it is a little late for that because Erasmo ended up doing what she told him to do in the first place. Estrella thinks "even if you pay Sansón his death threat against Kiko isn't going to end". (She does not mention any threat to herself) Erasmo hands over the money to Sansón saying now he has his money and he Erasmo is done with his threats. Sansón looks over at Kiko and Estrella and thinks "that's what you think."
At school Salma is filling Astrid in on the abortion plan. She has an appointment for 4:30 this afternoon. She has told Kristel she is staying over night at Astrid's house so nobody will suspect anything. Astrid is worried that Salma could die. Salma says that they told her on the phone thst it was safe. It is safer earlier in the pregnancy. Salma is just happy to be getting her life back.
Back at the judge's office, Ricardo denies having ever touched Tracy. He tells the judge that Tracy planned all of this just to take his kids away. Tracy is sobbing and can barely stand. Anastasia then comes in but says nothing. The judge orders an ambulance be called to take Tracy to the hospital. Of course, Tracy has the recording from the night before where Ricardo threatens to kill her if she tries to take the kids from him. She plays it for the judge.

I actually was impressed with Ernesto who was being as selfless as he could be with no real hope of regaining Esperanza's love. He was happy to just not be hated.
Gee, it turns out that Estrella understands how things work in the neighborhood far better than Erasmo. I was glad she told her brother off. Erasmo should have known better than to get noticed by the undesirables in his neighborhood. Just the fact that he was able to repay their money is going to make him a mark for continued threats. He just might have turned himself into a cash machine.
So how is Salma not going to go through with or prevented from having the abortion? Should be interesting,
I refuse to believe that Kracy was/is a successful conservationist. Wild animals are too smart to leave such a pesky poisonous varmint untrampled.
So is Baxter Ricardo's new b*tch? Why is he always at his beck and call, bending himself into a pretzel to please a person who isn't his friend and who was a terrible and abusive ex-boss? Would he have to die too in order to nudge Ricardo towards another life-altering path? Poor Iker died solely to provide Ric with an excuse to move on and start over, just a few days after the "love of his life" unexpectedly cancelled their wedding.
Ricardo and Cristina just don't stick. It's like trying to push together the like poles of two magnets. They are boring to watch. Zero chemistry, forced situations, over-the-top risible dialogue and bad acting from both actors. I personally feel that Ricardo has a way better rapport with Irene. Not to mention that Irene is more charming and personable than Cristina. The long-awaited Marjorie de Sousa (never seen her before this) is blonde, pretty and has a killer body. That's about it. She is a shiny bright-colored ornament but she has no soul. The actress may have been good in earlier roles but in SdA, her performance falls flat, as far as I'm concerned.
I agree with your take on Ernesto. Whether he is a bad boy or a good boy, Ernesto is my favorite male character in this clunker.
OK, I'm so done with Pato and Kristel! Ugh! What insufferable brats! They ought to be exiled o Tabasco! And take Erasmo with them!
Thanks again, Jarifa! :)
I so enjoy your keen eye and astute observations. "Ricardo keeps introducing himself to the strangers on the street as an "EX" police officer/agent from Interpol. (So how does that further legitimize his actions in the eyes of the public? Does not "EX" mean "is no more"?)" was my favorite of many. (Nandicta, Jarifa really nails these things, doesn't she?)
Of course I'm disgusted with Tracy's subterfuge and the emotional damage all this is surely doing to her children. I'm very afraid for Kiko and Estrella.
"Erasmo is fixing his hair with some gel and thinking of Pato and how he should NOT be thinking of her at all". No, idiot, you shouldn't.
And, why do I not belive you: "He is not interested. He tells her that he feels nothing for her. His love for her is dead and she killed it". And for Kristel to pout when she threw him over (inexplicably) was cringeworthy. I think they do deserve each other.
Irene deserves to be a major player here, not relegated to the background...
Last night, several things happened that reminded me that despite some major flaws, I still like this show:
Margarita and Felix (he delights in her. Why wouldn't he??)
Vivi and Mario (sweet but not saccharine) and now (horns blowing)
Estrella and Ernesto!!
"I actually was impressed with Ernesto who was being as selfless as he could be with no real hope of regaining Esperanza's love. He was happy to just not be hated." Oh my Jarifa, me too! When he walked into Estrella's bedroom, truth be told, I swooned a bit. Julian, why have I not noticed how truly handsome you are? Like Ernesto, I am waiting for the thaw...How can she resist him? I couldn't...
Jarifa, you always bring this to life for me. Gracias amiga.
Diana
I was also concerned that being México, people would cooperate with ANYBODY who just said he was a policeman (or ex in this case). How can they trust he is the good guy and not the one trying to find Sandra and rape her again¡ Bad guys have pretty faces too!
I wouldn't sell my soul to the devil asking a friend to to something and then owing her my life and promising her to do WHATEVER for the rest of my life: I have heard of people who hit themselves against objects like doors or walls. Same result, free of debts, Esperanza style. You don't have to owe nothing to anybody.
I was asking myself (because wanting this mess to end tomorrow would be too much to ask, praying to virgen de la paz and all) how in the hell are they going to fill the other 65 episodes when they ran out of ideas in episode 40? Easy!
MAKE THIS AN INFOMERCIAL!
Now when you eat Lala yogurt, SAY HOW GOOD IT IS!! when you eat Lala Cheese, say it, when you drink Lala milk, don't forget to mention how good it is to make bones stronger! You'll see it reflected in your paycheck!
Diana, I so agree on who you like in this story. Mario and Viviana are a pleasant surprise.
Pablo, a LaLa infomercial is perfect! They could even roll out new products. Their mango yogurt is excellent! Very funny!
Thanks, Jarifa! Great recap. I can't believe it's only halfwayish; shouldn't there be more plot happening? Silly question.
Are we going to have a galán turn completely to the dark side, as a "fresh new original twist"? Because I still don't see much reason to like Ricardo. He's a hot-tempered idiot who tries to solve things with physical force. WHY does anyone let him around fragile women at a shelter? I wouldn't tell him if I'd seen Sandra; he totally seems like he could be an abuser.
I also don't understand why Anastasia is bothering with this stupid alliance with Kracy. Didn't she get the money she wanted out of Ernesto? What does Kracy have to offer other than kraziness?
Maybe she'll shoot at her(pato) and miss and hit that skinny guy thats threatened kiko & estrella. Hed a waste of space anyway. He wants to sell her into white slavery. And her little silly self thinkin of going to him to protect her brother. Lack of brain cells runs in this family. Thats why I vote sanson gets shot accidentally on purpose. It's bad enough seeing krazy tracy do this to those poor kids and Ricardo, this with kiko and estrella is just too much. All summer long...ugh!!!!
Glad you mentioned the Viviana-Mario pairing, I don't think we dwell on it too much because, let's face it, there are so many sources of irritation and so little time to dissect them but I agree with you. They are one of the bright spots, though I wish they give up Mario's Stooge #4 act, because it is really detrimental to the character in my opinion. They are ways of showing someone shyness and klutziness without turning them into a grotesque caricature.
Pablo, I think that people in many countries feel compelled to cooperate with police officers, not just in Mexico. Your "Bad guys have pretty faces too!" made me chuckle.
I'm THIS close to putting up an altar for La Virgen de la Paz in my room, anything to shorten this show (though I would really miss you, guys!). Maybe we should try praying to Lala Cheese and Miscellaneous Dairy Products. Maybe someone ought to keep a list of all the Lala yumminess that we are force-fed in nearly every episode. I remember milk, quesadilla cheese, feta-like cheese, maybe yoghurt. These Lala products can' be that good if they are willing to spend good money on Osorio's nonsense.
I share your loathing of the Ricardo character. I went from finding him mildly annoying to plain hating him. I really hope this original story is original enough to kill off the galán!
And yes, the Kracy-Anastasia "alliance" makes zero sense whatsover. I feel that don't know what to do with the Anastasia character so they keep buzzing around like a pesky fly that won't go away, getting involved in hare-brained schemes and pulling lame stunts. She insists on clinging to Luca and clinging to Ernesto and annoying 2/3 of the cast and just being there until the writers figure what to do with her or have her stabbed in a dark alley.
Nina, good to see you again! I feel your frustration and I'm really sorry to be the bearer of bad news but in a recent interview, Cris de la Fuente said that this clunker will go on until late August in Mexico. And since we are about 2 and a half weeks behind, Dream of Horror and Lunacy will end mid-September in the US. De la Fuente did say that he is not a 100% sure, but since he works in the US as well, I feel that he must have a pretty accurate estimate of the time commitment he is to devote to the novela he's currently acting in. Oh well. We're having fun dissing this trainwreck and I for one have an almost morbid curiosity to find out just what other monstrosities desperate Osorio will throw our way in order to capture ratings.
Haha! Yes! Clearly that's where the power is in this looneyverse!
