Sueño de amor, Ep. 69 (6.16.16) Believe it or not: Everybody is sleepless in Sueñolandia

¡Paradójico! ¡Nadie tiene sueño en Sueñolandia!

Midnight confessions
(brought to you by ZzzQuil)

Is midnight in Sueñolandia and the sandman failed to show up, so everybody is awake...

Mario came looking for Leche Lala and found Salma, so they had a picnic inside the refrigerator while discussing the love life of the teenager. Hashtag Ladyconfundida2 or #Ladyembarazada. Her guilt is keeping her awake because she is expecting a baby from the boy she loves and he despises her while there's another boy who loves her but she dispises him. Well, it runs in the family, Mario himself was confundido once dating Pánfila, or whats her name? Felícitas, only to make her loose her job and disappear from the face of the earth. Now he loves Viviana but who knows? Silvana is coming back, and the writers are crazy, so I wouldn't bet much on it.

#Lordconfundido
Erasmo only had yesterday's stale tortillas but Kiko wanted to talk while Estrella prayed to both her mother and the Virgen de la Paz so she could avoid going to Tamaulipas with Sansón. Their impossible loves are keeping them awake, and to make matters worst, now Erasmo will have to work in three different places just to pay the interest of the interest of his loan. If only poor people were not this stoopid, they could manage their economics better. later on, when both guys are fast asleep, she writes her ''goodbye letter''

#LadyconfundidaOfficial
Pedro was getting a Lala yogurt with aspartame when his phone rang and it was Kristel, who couldn't sleep either and cried and begged him to take her back. Three days ago she stopped eating all products, including Lala and Subway. She wants to die of love. To all that commotion, Pato got up and started discussing her brother's love life instead of her own. Look at my t-shirt, she said, it says ''change the bad into good''. Too bad Pedro was more interested in the cucumbers and how long that celery and broccoli would last outside the refrigerator. I am sorry what?

#LordPresentimiento
Adrián couldn't close his eyes thinking about Estrella, like something was telling his heart that she was in danger. Too bad his therapy is not done yet, and he can do very little about it.

At Motel Encanto, Kracy watches her kids sleep, but she can't close her eyelids (and no, is not for all that mascara).

At the jail, Silvana couldn't sleep with excitement because she gets out tomorrow.

I am sure Ricardo couldn't sleep either looking for his kids, with sidekick Irene who seems not to have a life, but this last two scenes, I made them up.

Kikirikí!!
(This segment brought to you by Jimmy Dean)

Turns out the only one who slept was the sick one, Esperanza, who after being sprinkled with magical sand, had a wet dream taken from the most sweet memories of Acapulco, actually Mazatlán, when she was showing her butt intertwined with Ricardo between the white cotton sheets of that Hotel by the beach.
-Do you really think I am pretty with my ''just-woke-up'' face?
-Sure, you are pretty in any way... specially when you didn't take your make up off before going to sleep last night.
-Thought you didn't notice, let me kiss your tattoos before the ''mañanero''

La que se lleva se aguanta
At Kuri household, Mario jokingly left the milk and grabbed the Lala cheese to make Kristel some spicy quesadillas, and then decided to make more to cure the horrible hangover everybody had after the spicy dinner Félix made, that consisted of habaneros stuffed with habanero filling covered with habanero salsa. I am sure they were afraid to send someone to get Tabasco salsa, fearing they could never come back.
-You are pretty good in the kitchen dad.
-And who isn't, with this high quality Lala products, my pretty redhead daughter?
-Well... that's a side from you I didn't know...
-There's a lot of me you don't know...
-Oh, stop it...

Sidenote: While I find all this antics to be very obnoxious, I laugh pretty hard when I hear phrases like: ''In the military I learned how to control myself'', or ''In this family we keep no secrets and tell no lies''. So, there you have it. I am finding the involuntary comedy to be pretty funny.

The only way to stop a crazy woman with a gun, is with a crazy man with a gun
Even though Kracy is in México, she thinks she has the right to bear arms and shoot if she sees fit, exercising her 2nd amendment right, right? Wrong! She should be abiding mexican law. Anyway, at the Motel Encanto the kids woke up shaking with fear because their mother is acting like she is crazy. Luckily, even crazy people has to sleep, and while their mother dreams of elephants and gorillas, Rodrigo sends his father the location of the Motel and even when they don't know if the door is open or closed, as soon as he gets there, they run from their mother just in time and get out. Shots are being fired. Police is on their way. Kracy jumps through a window. Luckily, all those years among the monkeys are paying off and luckily, she was in room #5, and luckily the window had no protection bars, otherwise, the story would have ended up pretty differently.

#LordEstalkin'
While some need money for the most basic stuff like tomatoes and eggs, some others like Nacasia spend on huge panoramic ads just to taunt their enemies. I guess is easier to spend money when is not actually yours... juaréver!
This morning Pato (and the world), witnessed the kinky side of Saint Luca making Patricia take some pictures, send some texts and get very upset because she thinks Anacasia is getting too far with this prank.

On their way to school the Guerreros were walking and minding their own business and some other people's business too, while suddenly they see the huge ad and all hell breaks loose. Pato starts yelling, Pedro tries to calm her down, Esperanza has another cramp, even Erasmo is there o comfort her and see the pictures she showed him.
If this problem persists, Pato could become Anasticida (Anastasia's exterminator).

Proud of her brilliant ideas, Anastasia went to see Kracy, but found Ernesto instead, who told her that Kracy had taken the kids and had a gun. Anasty confesses that she was the one giving Kracy the black eye. And speaking of stubbornness, Ernesto doesn't understand why she is still clinging to Luca after all the rejections and she replies that she doesn't understand why Ernesto is still clinging to Esperanza after 20 years of absence. Angered, Ernesto shakes her and she complains that everybody has been shaking her a lot lately. She has bruises on the bruises. Even her bruises are bruised already.
You're lucky you have an accomplice holding those pictures from the fake sombra stunt, otherwise, you will be long dead my dear, seems to think Erasmo with an evil smile.
And speaking of villains, they don't have ethics, and can kill ruthlessly. Murillo is not answering the phone. He like Mata Hari, doubles for whoever paid him the most and now it is revealed that he is Anastasia's ally.

We all make mistakes, but some people abuse them!
After the shootout, Ricardo took his kids and told them their mother needed some help. Luckily, HER MISTAKES are his gain, and from now on, the three of them will spend the rest of their lives together. Joy never leaves the Joys (La alegría nunca abandona a la familia Alegría), well, yes, some times.
After that Ricardo and his kids discuss therapy for all this trauma.
I am sure they will live happily ever after. BUt for now, let's invite Irene to some delicious pancakes with banana smile and blueberry eyes. Hug seals new phase for these three.

Finally the Guerreros arrive to school.
Kristel tells Pato about the break up and she wants help convincing Pedro to take her back. Yeah, you came to the right place. Can you help me with Luca in exchange? Or better yet, can you help me with Anasty?

Meanwhile, in the principals office, the red phone rings and Bárbara receives THE PHONE CALL. Yes! The phone call she 's been praying for for the last six months! The phone call from the firewoman of education and she is on line 1! Oh bad timing Batman, Ricardo is on line 2, and he being the missing link, now wants to know everything.
They set up a appointment for 5:30 and when we say ''junta de maestros'', we mean just Esperanza and Ricardo. For some reason, Diódoro, or what his name the blind teacher, Cuauhtémoc and the other female teachers have been long gone since who knows when!!
Not that I am keeping track of them, because who cares, right?

Anyway, Jail is losing an inmate, Silvana gets out. Mama is there to take her home praying to God (and not the holy cross) that her repentance is real and not fake and that she will not kill them all in their sleep like it happened in Amityville.

Meanwhile, at the CRIT near you, Tobías shows Estrella how to do the propiocepción therapy, where Kiko utilizes his own development to acquire strength. Estrella, thinking ahead, asks if theres a bus that can bring Kiko over, ''just in case'' she has to go to Tamaulipas and never come back.

In another part of CDMX, Judge Impávida watches the video where Kracy slaps Selena and sealed her destiny, granting Ricardo the kid's custody effective immediately. The kids jump of happiness and the judge seems to smile. Or could also be a cramp, who knows, she uses the same expression for everything.

Looks like Esperanza, due to her impeccable records, has some rights and if she first asked for 2 weeks leave paid, now that she knows she is anemic, want to take those 2 weeks whenever is more convenient for her, don't mind the school and schedules. How about in one month? Y tu nieve, de que la quieres? De limón?

Meanwhile in the poor neighborhood where the Gallos live, on her way back from the bakery, Estrella is intercepted by Sansón who gives her a photoshopped picture of Erasmo and Kiko full of blood, as a reminder that the tickets are ready and she needs to be too. Tonight.

May the holy cross protect us of Silvanita.
When she gets home hugs Mario and the girls while Margarita watches.

Is almost 5:30
Ricardo is getting ready to go to the meeting so the Messiah of education is introduced to the cuerpo de maestros que only are two, and tells his kids that they have to wait for him playing in the patio and that their mother will never harm them as long as he is alive. But she lurks in the dark...

At Esperanza's house is almost 5:30 too, so Ernesto offer her a ride to school but she prefers to do it alone. As you know, she is still in mode (insert idiotic voice here) ''I don't want to owe nothing to anybody''. Ernesto then gets a phone call from Kracy and when he answers, nosey Esperanza wish she had time to stay and find out all about it.

First friday in June: Day of the dona*
Once at home, Estrella blames her tardiness to the lack of donuts in the bakery, so she had to wait until they were ready. You know, doughnuts are something you can't just substitute like this. In Estrella's defense, I will tell you that mexican doughnuts, despite having no name like Krispy Kremes, Shipleys or Dunkin, are unique, so huge and heavy they take three slots in the food pyramide. Erasmo gets there just in time. She is fed up of being poor. La bronca (the problem) is that despite all we do, we will never get ahead in life!
Well, is called common sense, even when is not that common, and make people realize their own limitations. When people is poor, they have to learn to prioritize and not spend more than they have. Some even die of old age in their wheelchair, it is what it is.

Is time for geometry class at the Palacios
As we suspected, to the important meeting only 2 teachers showed up. Ricardo and Esperanza, who else? Where are Felicia (oh yeah, she got fired), the teacher with the round 10's, Cuauhtémoc and Israel?
There we get to see a perfect equilateral triangle, with Ricardo in the middle. ¿Será melón, será sandía? Esperanza gets upset when she hears that Ricardo SPENT SOME TIME LAST NIGHT with Cristina Vélez Valderrama, the firewoman of education, and since she knows she is called ''the witch'' she keeps her nose up all the time.

What kind of conceptual art is that?
Meanwhile, in the uncle chueco hotel where bath tubes are in the middle of the living rooms, once together, Kracy and Ernesto plot to kill Ricardo and everybody who gets in the middle of their plans.
She says she only needs two things:
1- Disappear
2- Kill Ricardo

Then she says she needs one more thing:
3- Money (lots of)

Then she says she needs ONE MORE THING!!!
4-Contact someone who will do the dirty job.

New ally, new way to kill Ricardo, new character! New plot line! The plot to kill Ricardo!
I sincerely hope this time won't fail!

Mandatory commercial break during non-commercial time
ACE, like Tide but cheaper because you pay for it with pesos, not dollars (contains more water).
Granny, stop hitting the clothes against a rock in the watercourse, now we modern women use ACE, because whoever ''la ACE, la PAGA''. Ewww, see my night gown, so white? Yes, and it works with colors too! Ewww, with only a capful! Buy it today!
Ewww, if only the writers had stop them from doing it Ad libitum! Ewww!
(I am using ewww instead of the annoying ''OoooHH'' Margarita likes so much)

Back at school and after the important meeting, Ricardo and Esperanza play opposite's day arguing about how much they disregard each other and about the 2 weeks paid vacation to go to Europe in Ernesto's private jet and stuff. Enjoy the trip, I will, very much so, thank you very much! You're it and don't catch me!

At the Kuris household, Silvana dressed in her cheap sheep clothes, convinces everyone she is good now. She gives them a fake hug while is thinking, trío de imbéciles, I will kill you all!

Camina Vendey Comprarranas, firewoman of education, will start tomorrow with her extra long hose quenching the fire of low ratings and non favorable polls.

Next monday! Where's April? Last time I checked it was between March and May!!

Now seriously, Ricardo, in his new people finder mode, is on a roll finding everyone! I wish the president could contact him to finally find the 43 students missing more than a year ago!

*Since I have more time to spare than I think I have, I make silly stuff, like lists, and I have one with more than 238 days with something to celebrate in México. I am sure you have heard of the teacher's day, Mother's, and so on, well, we also have the day of the taco, torta, eggs, practically everything! Luckily, not all are observed, imagine if they were! This dona's day was new to me, but I am adding it.

Welcome to this new recap brought to you by me!

No "Mr. Sandman to send them a dream" huh? "Kikirikí. (This segment brought to you by Jimmy Dean)" was my favorite. When we had them in my neck if the woods, Jimmy Dean restaurants always had the freshest tasting eggs. Thank you, Pablo for a great recap.

I was laughing at the name of the motel: "Motel Encanto" Enchanted Motel" with such violent activity provided to them by Tracy.

Did anyone else's ears perk up when Ricardo told his kids they could play on the patio at the school while he is at his meeting but while Tracy is still on the loose? Pablo, this seemed to get your interest. Did Mr. Ex Super Secret agent ever call the police to see if she was apprehended or shot or anything?

So Murillo is doing the old double cross to make more $$$? I am hoping he is the undoing of Anastasia.

I am so tired of the entire self enmeshed Guerrero clan. Too much togetherness and certainly way too much communication among them. I am particularly sick of Esperanza's pained expression that she has caused herself whenever she finishes being a bitch to Ricardo. Pato is still surprised by Anastasia's antics? Between those and Luca's new job she is in over her head. And Pedro has just collapsed into blah.

Will Estrella be on that corner at midnight with a ticket in her hand?

Will Margarita continue to gross out Salma talking about laundering her nighties and her activities with Félix? "Ew" is right but it was funny!

A "dona's day"! Maybe I should have had one for breakfast reading this along with my coffee.

Don't forget to eat your dona with Lala milk while you do your laundry, otherwise, it won't count!

Very funny but true!

Pablo, rich and wry.

In addition to what Jarifa noted, "Midnight confessions (brought to you by ZzzQuil)" and "Kracy watches her kids sleep, but she can't close her eyelids (and no, is not for all that mascara)" were among my favorites.

Sabine does bsc so well. I was a bit surprised though that she fired when Ricardo swept in and took the children. She seemed not to care if she hit one of them! I refuse to believe she fired "at" them. Could she be so cruel? And speaking of, Silvana - not exactly the repentant mother is she? I'm really concerned about her family. Two mothers who want to harm their children in the same TN. Is this a record?

I wish Estrella would confide in someone. There's been enough tragedy here. Basta!

Jarifa, I loved Margarita and Salma's chat. At one point, I thought the actress playing Kristel gave a genuine laugh. Sorry Pablo, unlike you, I really enjoy Margarita's 'OoooHHs''. To each his/her own.

It's too bad Tracy is dragging Ernesto down (further) with her. With each passing episode, I'm losing any hope he will end up with Estrella. I now think the writers are stuck on stupid and might have her back with Ricardo. I don't understand why she didn't want her boyfriend to watch her physically deteriorate, but its OK for her children to!

Thanks Pablo.

Diana

Ack. I'm losing hope Ernesto will end up with Esperanza.

Diana

Do either of you know if Sabine has ever played anything but villains? She does it so well.

Diana, I, too, chuckle at Margarita's "oohs!". If it weren't for her subplot with Félix and Mario this would really be too bleak for me.

I am so frustrated with Estrella but she is only fourteen(?) and evidently lives in a neighborhood where nobody knows anything and snitches are not tolerated. A very ugly but real plot line.

Jarifa, I've never seen her as anything but a villain.

Initially, she threw me off a bit. I thought hmmm, we might have a character with many shades of gray but not really evil. Once again, I was totally off...

Your comment about "snitches are not tolerated" really gave me pause. Yes, ugly (and sadly) very, very real...

Diana

Thanks.

I respect what some will find amusing and what not in this tn.
My problem is not the subplot or the lines. It dates back to PEAM and is personal to the point that I even ''hate the way she licks the stamps''.

Ms Salinas is not a charismatic actress. In my opinion she has never been, and I am sure there's tons of people her age who could do a better job but Osorio insists in having her in all he does. For that reason, I will always see her as a ridicule woman clowning around saying what she wants and getting paid, while other serious actresses never get hired.

I think I will start a petition in change.org so she can stay in her other ''job'' as a ''diputada'', where she is getting paid around 8,000 dlls a month for taking naps.

Hey, Pablo, we all have those performers we simply cannot stand.

Thanks, Pablo! Very funny. My favorite was "minding their own business and some other people's business too"...I'm going to steal that; I'm sure it will come in handy many times.

I don't care for Ms. Salinas's "acting", either. She may be super charming in real life and that's how she stays in the game; I don't know, but on screen she always seems to me like she's reciting the lines more than being the character. The acme to me of her non-acting was that bit in whatever that show was with Maite Perroni and William Levy, can't remember the name, where she and the other older ladies were doing the musical number. Totally flat and unmodulated "singing" with no melodic or performance qualities whatsoever. In that case it was so bad it was funny, but she always seems the same way to me.

But back to this fever dream. I assume the goddess of pedagogy will suggest that the school try actually having their teachers show up and teach on a consistent and regular schedule. Maybe even hire staff who are qualified teachers in the first place, not randos off the street like Kracy. It's novel, but hey, anything's worth a try! The children are our future!

Have we started a death watch for Baxter and Irene yet? They can't be long for this world if they're helping Ricardo.

Thank you, Pablo, your writing skills are as good as ever and this show doesn't disappoint in the mockery department.

I'm sorry I've been MIA for so long. It just seems like there are not enough hours in the day for watching this kind of crap. I haven't even had the chance to stop by to thank you all for your splendid recaps - that's how I stay up to date more or less. Nandicta and Jarifa, just as Pablo, you bring so much wit to your recaps, this show is not worthy of talented writers like yourselves.

I agree with all of you that Esperanza has been dumped down to the tenth degree. Could it be so that she is more suited for Ricardo when all is said and done?
I have a huge soft spot for Ernesto, I am hoping against hope that he will be redeemed, like some of you.

I don't particularly like or dislike Cramen Salinas, but I do think that she plays the same role in all her tns - the old abuelita who fancies younger guys, so much so that she ends up harassing them. And her harassment is part of the comic relief of the show. Because Sueno is especially bad, here her character actually gets the guy...

Pato has become a complete nuisance. At least before she was OK when not with Luca.

This tn is slowly ruining a bunch of favorites for me. I can barely stand to look at Cris de la Fuente now, which is heartbreaking for me, since it's only been a month or so since I last watched some old Amor Bravio clips.
I hope Betty Monroe gets a better producer with her next tn and the chance to really shine, like they're not allowing her to do here.

I was getting ready to watch tonight's episode for the recap, but the Univision site says that there is no show because of football.
Can anyone confirm this?
Thanks!

Adriana, you are right. There is no show tonight because of fútbol. Have a good weekend!

Sorry, I'm late to the party. Many thanks for another hilarious recap, Pablo! The hashtags were particularly delightful to read again and again, while laughing my head off!

Here are my two cents about Carmen Salinas. I know she has many fans but I've seen her play herself for the past 20-something years and make virtually no effort whatsoever to contribute anything new, that's why I'm totally over her and wouldn't care if I never see her on-screen ever again. She is no Carmen Montejo, Marga López or Silvia Derbez; These ladies were great actresses, who excelled at playing kind matriarchs as well as manipulative toxic mothers, and who had an interesting and varied acting repertoire. Leticia Calderón, though she is still very young, is shaping up to be an outstanding primera actriz both at playing nurturing mother figures and evil monsters.

Thanks.

I agree.
I consider her a cheater. She is cheating Osorio and whoever hires her, into allowing her to be as vulgar as she is in real life and to be herself with slang and everything, and I find that completely unprofessional and in my opinion, offensive. Besides that, nothing personal, LOL!
