Yago #19: What would you do for your own child? 08 Jun 2016
More details of Lucio’s childhood and adolescence are revealed. Mati’s kidnapping forces him to be confronted by the memories of his relationship, or lack of relationship, with his family.
“The fear, insecurity, frustration, and envy that can destroy a human being and take him to the edge are the result of a childhood without love, and I know that better than anyone.” (El miedo, la inseguridad, la frustración, y envidia que puede destruir un ser humano y llevarlo al límite, son resultado de una crianza sin un amor, y yo lo sé mejor que nada.) – Lucio
From the last episode, Teo remembers setting up his part of what was supposed to be a fake kidnapping plot involving his little sister. The plan goes horribly wrong, and he discovers his sister’s lifeless body in the trunk of the car driven by the supposed kidnappers. He digs a hole, puts her body in there, pours fuel on her, and sets on her on fire.
At the riding club, Sara finishes her call with Lucio agreeing to meet for burgers at Mati’s favorite restaurant. Her joy turns to fear when she realizes that Mati is gone.
Lucio, upon realizing Mati was kidnapped, confronts the loan shark, Tomás, and threatens to bust open his face.
Yago later goes to see Tomás, telling him that kidnapping a child wasn’t something he asked him to do and told him to fix the situation immediately. Tomás informs Yago that his superiors are the ones who decide.
Lucio and Sara cling to each other in anguish over their son being kidnapped. He tells her that Tomás’ associates were the ones who orchestrated it.
Lucio receives the ransom call for 5 million. As proof that Mati is alive, the kidnappers send Lucio, who has his phone on speaker, a video of Mati crying for his mother and father to get him out of there. Lucio, Sara, as well as Yago, Melina, Jonás, Bruno, Abel, Teo, and Ámbar, hear his cries.
Will Yago be able to come up with the money for the ransom?
Will Mati be rescued alive and well?
“Man has the capacity to transform his own circumstance, and I’m living proof of that.” (El hombre tiene la capacidad inherente para transformar su propia circunstancia, y yo soy la prueba viviente de ella.) – Lucio
Flashback: In México City, two women are helping a woman named Anita through a difficult birth. She screams she doesn’t want to see the baby. One of the women brings the newborn to Anita, who won’t even look at him, and tells her that the baby isn’t to blame for what his father his done. “Lucio,” Anita says. “The baby’s name is going to be Lucio.” The woman is surprised that Anita would name the baby the same name as the man who “rewarded” (premió) with the baby and then abandoned her. Anita insists that he be called Lucio so she will never forget how stupid she was and will never make the same mistake again.
“The good or bad decisions that are taken, in the long run, always surround that which we call love.” (Las buenas o malas decisones que se toman a lo largo de la vida siempre están alrededor de eso que llamamos amor.) – Lucio
Lucio’s Childhood: Lucio is on his way to his house with Omar. He’s excited to show his score of 7 (Decimal system of grading: 10 is excellent, 9 is very good, 8 is good, 7 is average, 6 is sufficient, 0-5.9 is insufficient/failing.) that he got in his maths class after having a 6 all year long. He hopes that his news slightly improves his mother’s mood and that his step-father, Carlos, will finally be happy.
Lucio finds Carlos and tells him his news. Carlos is unmoved by his achievement and reminds him about a job he had previously spoken to him about. Carlos and Anita would have to leave the city. Lucio sees them packing suitcases. Anita tells Lucio to stay behind to watch after his grandmother and that they will return for him later. Lucio asks why they won’t take him with them. She tells him that when they return, they’ll be able to buy a house for the three of them to live. Lucio pleads to not be separated from them. Anita’s mother asks her if she’s sure about what she’s doing and tells her she can’t take care of Lucio with her arthritis. Anita’s mother argues with her that three years is a long time for a child to not be raised by his parents. She yells, “What am I going to do with a child?” Lucio and Omar are terrified.
After they leave, Omar invites Lucio to his house for dinner and sweetly tells him that his home is his and that when they grow up maybe even their kids will be friends, too.
Present: On the phone, the kidnapper reminds Lucio that they have 24 hours to pay, or they’ll return their son in pieces. He hangs up on Lucio who begins to panic that they are too in debt to come up with the money. Sara, in a frenzy, brainstorms what properties they can sell to make up the ransom. Lucio worries that it can’t happen in 24 hours. Jonás tries to calm him and suggest that maybe they should reconsider calling off the police. Sara disagrees out of fear that the kidnappers will find out and endanger Mati. Melina agrees with Sara. Yago thinks he can come up with the money. Sara is shocked when Lucio doesn’t want to accept his offer.
Mati hears the kidnappers wondering if his parents can come up with the money. He tells them they have serious money problems (tienen broncas de lana) and that it would be better that they let him go. One kidnapper laughs at him and tells him that he’s not there on a guided tour (visita guiada). Mati tells the man that he’s not afraid of him. The man is angered and is about to strike Mati when the second kidnapper tells him not to harm him.
Lucio is sitting alone with Jonás and asks him what type of man isn’t capable of protecting his child by not having the ransom money. Jonás tells him to swallow his pride and accept his friend’s offer. Yago enters and insists that Lucio accept. Lucio tells him he will be grateful to him for the rest of his life.
Lucio’s Childhood: Omar has his hands over Lucio’s eyes as they enter Omar’s house. Lucio keeps asking where he’s taking him. It’s a surprise birthday party that the Guerrero’s have organized for Lucio. They tell him to blow out the candles on his cake. He says that the year before he wished for his mother to come home, but it didn’t come true. Melina tells him to wish really hard, that it was going to happen this year.
Present: Yago tells Melina to be calm and assures Sara that he’s going to come up with the money. Before Yago leaves, Bruno stops him to apologize for misjudging him. He tells them there’s nothing for which to apologize and that they’re going to be optimistic and to look after his parents.
Alejandra, dolled up in a little black dress, is at Lucio and Sara’s casino. She goes under some caution tape, and a security guard stops her. She asks where she’s supposed to go to cash in her winning chips. He tells her the casino is out of service right now. She becomes irate demanding to see his supervisor, better yet, the manager. The guard tells her to wait, that he’ll see what he can do. She uses the opportunity to move forward with getting into Lucio’s office.
Melina is talking to Sara in the kitchen. She tells her that she won’t talk about what she did to Omar. She just wants to tell her that she understands what she’s going through and that she doesn’t wish it on anyone, not even her.
In Lucio’s office, Alejandra goes through his things.
Ámbar has overheard Melina’s comment and asks Sara what she did to Melina’s son. Sara walks off without a word. Alejandra has accessed Lucio’s computer and goes through a file of warning sheets for personae non gratae. (That’s such a charming phrase in Latin that makes it a nice way of saying people who are not welcomed, literally not appreciated.) Click, click, here it comes, Damián Madrigal. She copies the files onto a USB drive.
Ámbar presses Sara for a response, telling her she’ll feel better if she gets in out, that she’s her sister, and she will understand. Sara tells her it was years ago. She reminds her of telling her about “The great love” and admits that it was Omar, the older son of Melina and Jonás. She broke his heart. She says she’s not a good person. Destiny is repaying her through Mati for all the wrong she did to Omar.
Mati gets loose of the ropes from which the kidnappers used to tie him.
Sara thinks that Mati doesn’t deserve what he’s going through; she deserves it, only she and Lucio deserve it.
Mati tries to open a door, but can’t get out.
Yago goes to Fidel and tells him that in effect he paid for the kidnapping, and now he needs the ransom. Fidel tells him the kidnapping is part of the revenge against Sara and Lucio. Yago doesn’t want to endanger a child in the process. Fidel asks him how much: 5 million pesos.
Abel gives Lucio a drink. Lucio says that everything he has done is to have a family with Sara, but it’s all falling apart. Abel tries to be supportive telling him it’s just a bad streak. Lucio blames bad decisions. He regrets the loan from Tomás and says he’s an embarrassment as a father. Abel tells him he has been there for Mati and that Lucio’s father was an embarrassment.
Yago presses Fidel for the money. Fidel tells him he needs to make some calls. He makes Yago promise not to move even a finger unless he greenlights it beforehand.
Mati sees a way to get out. Just as he climbs on top of a pile of things, one of the kidnappers catches him. He tells Mati he’s fed up (me colmaste) and points a gun at Mati. After the commercial, the kidnapper with the voice of reason comes in and says that the kid is worth money if he’s in one piece. They tie him back up.
Jonás, Bruno, and Melina are about to leave. Jonás tells Lucio that if he had the money he would give it to him. Melina tells Sara to keep the faith.
Abel is with Ámbar when he tries unsuccessfully to reach Lorenzo by phone. Ámbar assures him that it’s okay for him to just go and check up on him. Ab: “Really?” Ám: “Si”. [Awkward Abel family face paw.]
At Yago’s, Katia is on the computer and tells him that all his money is tied up in investments. Y: Check my Swiss bank account. [As one does.] K: But your tapping into your revenge fund! Y: When I need your opinion, I’ll ask for it... K: Does Fidel know about this? Y: Fidel may have started me off by funding me, but I made this money.
Bruno, Jonás, and Melina are arriving at their house. Melina brishes off why she defends Yago so much. Alejandra rushes up to them wanting to talk to Bruno.
Abel frantically wakes up Lorenzo, telling him to get ready to go quickly, that he has to take him far away from there.
Sara tells Lucio that she’s going to see Damián. She actually referred to him as her father rather than by his name as usual. Lucio tries to dissuade her for fear that he will just complicate things. She thinks he has contacts that might be able to help them. He tells her he’s nervous just like she is, but they have to maintain clarity. They should wait for Yago to show up with the money, and that he’ll find another solution. She can’t stand the thought of what the kidnappers might be doing to Mati. She thanks him for being a good father. He says that he’s his son, that he’d give his life for him.
Lucio’s Childhood: Lucio’s grandmother is nagging him about not doing the sweeping she asked him to do. He says he’s just taking a break. “A break? All you do is lounge around (holgazaneando). Learn this: Nothing is free in life. You have to work to earn your keep (sustento), with the sweat of my brow (con el sudor de mi frente).” He says the last phrase with her. His grandmother admits to him that she has come to realize that his mother isn’t returning.
Present: Lorenzo questions why Abel brought him to a laundry/dry cleaner. A man comes to the counter, and Abel tells him he’s there for a “pick up” (entreguito) then he says he has an appointment. They follow the man to the back. Lorenzo asks that it’s not really a laundry. Abel points out that not only can one get his laundry done there, but he can also get papers so he can travel. He’s planning a trip to New York for Lorenzo. Lorenzo had expected Abel to go with him. Abel assures him that he has friends up there and that he’ll be fine. Lorenzo tells him that wasn’t part of the plan. Abel tells him he will start a new life and will be better there.
Yago meets with two men in suits (a lawyer and accountant) telling them he needs for the money to be made available. He tells them while he may need Fidel’s signature, he has money to which he has a right. They tell him that may be so, but it’s in a joint (mancomunada) account and they need both signatures. Yago reminds them that he pays them very well and recommends that they comply with his request so that their pay is justified. Katia goes to Fidel. It’s about Yago: he needs to be protected from Omar. She tells him he’s about to use his own money for Mati’s ransom.
Bruno is now at Alejandra’s. She tells him his taxi is waiting. Before he leaves, she tells him she went through Lucio’s office. He asks why she did that. She’s about to tell him what she discovered, but he tells her he asked her to leave that in peace. As he’s about to leave, she agrees to drop it. Lucio is on the phone with the kidnappers frantic that they respect the deadline. Yago shows up with the money in a briefcase. Lucio, still on the phone, asks for the exchange location. Sara whispers thank you to Yago. Lucio hangs up, and Yago tells him he wants to go with him. Lucio says they told him to go alone. Yago tells him he’ll take him as close as he can so he can keep an eye on him, but he wants to go with him.
As Selma approaches Fidel, he asks if everything is ready. She tells him that everything is packed. He says everything has to run with the precision of a Swiss timepiece.
Yago and Lucio have thrown the money into black trash bags as “Johnny on the Spot” Abel arrives asking where they’re off to.
Lucio’s Teen Years: Abel and Omar arrive with Lucio at his place apparently after Lucio’s grandmother’s funeral. Abel tells him to look on the bright side: Now no one will make him sweep. Lucio says that may be so, but now he’s really alone. Omar tells him that he will never be alone, that he and Abel are his family. Lucio replies, “Yes, but I don’t have a dime (varo: slang for unit of money).” He looks through his grandmother’s things and finds a box. There’s some cash, coins, trinkets, and a letter from his mother to his grandmother. In the letter, she apologizes for not coming to visit for her birthday. Josué was sick. Lucio asks who Josué is. She goes on to tell her in the letter that they can meet downtown (el centro) when she goes to do her shopping. He concludes that his mother lives in the city and goes to find her. Abel and Omar run after him.
Present: Abel tells Teo that it’s time to go. Teo reminds him that they were told not to follow Lucio and Yago. Abel tells him that he has to watch Lucio’s back (cuidar las espaldas de...) like he has all through life.
The kidnappers come in to where they’re keeping Mati. They tell him that now they’ll find out how important he is to his parents. Yago arrives at the location with Lucio. Lucio doesn’t get off. Yago asks him what’s wrong. When Lucio doesn’t react, Yago tells him he has to take the money or else they’ll kill Matías. Lucio is frozen. Yago sees the kidnappers and tells Lucio to go, that they can’t see the two of them together. Lucio is sweating. Yago keeps yelling at him to go.
Flashback: Abel, Lucio, and Omar, carrying baseball bats, drag Carlos, Lucio’s step-father, into the house he shares with Anita, Lucio’s mother. She asks what’s happening. Lucio tells her to shut up and pushes her onto the couch with Carlos. She won’t look at him. He kneels before her telling her to look at him. He asks her if she doesn’t recognize anything familiar about him. She shakes her head no. He begins to beat Carlos with the bat. It is unknown if he’s dead or unconscious. Omar is holding down Anita. While doing that, he stretches and a red birthmark on his lower back is seen. Anita asks what they want since they don’t have any money. Lucio cries and says, “After all these years, I believed that you would come back for me. Grandmother would talk badly about you, but I defended you!” She realizes he’s Lucio. He asks how long have they lived there. “Why didn’t you ever visit me?”
Present: Yago tries to snap Lucio out of it, but can’t. He tells him to crouch down so that the kidnappers who are getting closer to the car don’t see him. Yago puts on a baseball cap and gets out of the car, taking the money with him. The kidnappers ask if he’s Lucio, check him for weapons, ask if he has the money, and take him inside. Someone takes off his hat and realizes he isn’t Lucio, and he yells for someone to shoot him. Yago grabs one of the kidnappers to use him as a human shield against the gunshots. Teo and Abel have made it there, and they cover Yago by shooting at the kidnappers.
Back in the car, Lucio, still stupefied, goes back to his memories of confronting his mother. Lucio signals Abel to torture his mother with the pliers. Suddenly, a little boy comes down the stairs. It’s Josué, and she tells him to go back upstairs. Lucio looks at the little boy and tells Abel and Omar, “Let’s go.” Abel asks if he’s sure, and Lucio repeats, “Let’s go.”
Present: Inside with the kidnappers, Yago finds Matías and tells him that he’s going to take him out of there and to not make a sound. He tells him not to worry, that he’s going to take him out of there.
Melina is awakened by sudden fear and calls out for Omar. She then starts praying the Lord’s Prayer.
Yago, with a gun in one hand, takes Matías by the hand and leads him out of there cautiously. Teo and Abel aren’t far behind, but they run into more of the kidnappers who take shots at them. Abel is hit and falls to the ground.
Sara, sitting with Ámbar, is holding her phone and sees that it’s 4:15 in the morning. She touches a photo of Matías. Ámbar tries to reassure Sara that they’re going to bring him back alive. Sara says she isn’t sure, she has a bad feeling.
Abel is unresponsive to Teo.
Yago and Matías make it outside when suddenly a white cargo van with masked and armed men show up. Yago takes a knee to the gut. As another man takes Matías, he pulls up his shirt and reveals a red birthmark on Matías’s back to Yago. The scene where the same mark on Omar’s back is shown is replayed. As the van is about to pull away, Yago picks up a gun, stands in front pointing it at the driver, and yells for them to stop. Fidel now shows up with more armed men. He tells Yago it’s time to define what side he’s on.
Inside, Teo is still trying to rouse Abel. His fate is unknown.
I hope you enjoyed the recap. Yago returns on Friday. Thursday, the show will be preempted by the México vs. Jamaica match.
On the next episode: Sara calls Lucio and asks about Matías. Lucio doesn’t respond. In the face of Lucio’s cowardice, Yago defends Matías with his life. After seeing the mark on Matías’s back, a mark similar to the one removed from Omar during his transformative operations, he thinks Matías could be his son. In a church, he poses the idea to Melina that Sara’s son could be her grandson.
Mysteries: Hopefully, Matías is safe and sound, Abel had one of those famous TV “through and through” and not fatal wounds, and Bruno’s curiosity is piqued by what Alejandra found in Lucio’s office. Here are some thoughts.
- Lucio Sr. was apparently a bad dude. What happened to him?
- What became of Lucio’s little brother, Josué? He’s probably a little older than Matías but maybe a little younger than Bruno.
- Who are Tomás, the loan shark’s, superiors? Maybe Camilo Michell?
- What’s going to happen when it’s discovered that Yago is to blame for this whole Mati kidnapping ordeal?

Whew!! Finally caught up with the eps/recaps/comments. Learned from Hotel that I won’t be able to stay up and watch this one, so I’m going to be a day behind watching the ep.
Question: Did those boys do something to Teo’s sister or did she die from being stuck in the trunk for hours? Do we know?
I really like this TN, but have to admit it’s not grabbing me to the extent that Hotel did. I’m certainly glad, though, that we have more interesting options on Uni. Hope they keep it up.
OT: those of you who were involved with Hotel, wanted to give you an update on my sister. She had her surgery today and it went well. She will, however, have to stay overnight at the hospital due to the reaction she has to the anesthesia. She was hoping the improvements in that area since the last time she had surgery (years and years ago) would allow her to come home tonight, poor thing. Thanks again for all your well wishes (those who were not involved with Hotel, my sister was diagnosed with breast cancer a few weeks ago).
Nanette
Kinomathematika...Thank you not only for the excellent recap but for the marvelous phrases in Spanish from the show that you included.
(El miedo, la inseguridad, la frustración, y envidia que puede destruir un ser humano y llevarlo al límite, son resultado de una crianza sin un amor, y yo lo sé mejor que nada.)
That one was particularly noteworthy. And much appreciated. It is becoming impossible to hate any of these characters as we see the layers of pain and betrayal that helped shape them into what they are today. Not that we admire them either. But they are no longer the black and white villains that we normally see in these telenovelas.
This show is difficult to watch. But impossible to turn off.
Again, thanks for the excellent recap and all the phrases and vocabulary. A lot of us are watching these to improve our Spanish so your extra effort there is treasured.
And Nanette...what good news in your sister's surgery. Sorry for the reaction though. We'll keep those prayers coming!
Interesting that Lucio is coming off as yes, a coward, but someone who just never seems to do the dastardly deeds the others are willing to do. Omar wasn't exactly painted in a positive light in those flash backs was he?
So is this the end of Abel? He did send Lorenzo on his way, and as aggravating as the character is to me, it would surprise me to see him gone. Unless this is how we slowly but surely work our way through all the players in this revenge.
I just hate though when kids are caught in the middle...but the lives of children see, to be the focus of what these adults are all about, so showing Matias in the next generation getting pulled in seems appropriate as a parallel, if not horribly sad. That child is going to start realizing his parents aren't above board, broke and you wonder how that relationship will work. And what happens if Yago thinks he's daddy? Somehow sailing into the sunset with Sara and Matias doesn't seem an option. To be honest...will anyone have a happy ending in this tale. Methinks not.
Matias is Yago's child; I'm sure of that now. Brave kid, but a little impulsive.
Is Fidel that cold that harming this little boy doesn't bother him? And Sara was a little too calm herself.
Yes, will Abel die? Before finding out Yago is Omar?
As we and Lucio knew, Matias is Omar's child. The kid is tough. Loved how he told the kidnappers that his folks are broke.
Seems like Fidel might be behind the kidnapping. What's he playing at?
Hate to say it, but I don't want Abel gone yet. Not before he gets Lorenzo into the U.S.
I'll bet it'll take Bruno all of 5 minutes to change his mind and want to see what Alejandra found.
He's got blood on his hands. And his bff Spent time in prison while he and bffs Girlfriend lived high off the hog on money he murdered and stole, and set up Omar/yago to take the blame for.
he may have started out being a poor little boy who had a bad beginning but he grew up to be a murdering thieving lying son of a b**** I don't feel sorry for him at all, he could have made better choices as an adult. Yago
Seems to be in a pickle. That happens
With revenge. It can turn wicketly nasty on you. I hope they get a little boys back safely.
I don't get Lucio choking when it came time to give the money to the kidnapper. Normally, it's the kidnapped that's in mortal danger, not the person who makes the money drop. Lucio had no way of knowing this would end with gun fire between two groups.
The tale of his mom scorning him is sad, but Lucio had a great surrogate family. Melina and Jonas are going to be so hurt if/when they find out the truth about him.
Glad Yago now knows Matias is his, but will this make him even more gaga for Sara? If yes, I hope she scams him into another 60-year sentence.
Niecie, if the writers do play this to get Yago closer to Sara instead, that will not make me happy. This is right out of The Count of MC, but that child has ever known one family. Now what....the twist in this tale is that the woman is as involved, really involved, in what happened to our "hero" as the men he is inacting revenge on. He should try to convince Ambar to take Matias and get out of Dodge, as they say if he keeps moving forward with his plans. But I do wonder if this opens his eyes to Fidel ( who is using him for his own games) and he changes his mind as he sees how this is affecting everyone he loves?
Nanette, I didn't know about your sister but glad to hear the surgery went well. Sending good thoughts your way!!!
I think Fidel is Tomas' boss and that he set this whole thing up to see how far Yago would go. Actually I'm surprised that Yago didn't doubt the kidnapping for a second. After all Lucio and Sara pulled off a complicated scam on Omar. And he knows they are in desperate need of money. Does he think so well of them that they wouldn't involve their son? I guess so. This better not bring Yago and Sara closer together. She literally stole everything from him.
Lucio's crackup didn't surprise me. I think this is the first time someone he truly could not lose was at stake and it petrified him with fear. I give Lucio credit for treating Matias like his own son when he knows he is Omar's. Remember he got the dna test done years ago.
Sara is a cool cucumber. She knows how to control her emotions which is what makes her so dangerous...and useful in a crisis.
Did Lorenzo already leave for the US? I thought he was going alone. Who was he staying with in the US? I missed that part. If he has already gone that means Abel could die and he would be okay. Unfortunately it means that Teo and Yago won't know that Lorenzo lived.
Kino, a truly wonderful recap. Love, love, love your technique of juxtaposing the sentences in Spanish and English. Makes me remember why I studied the language to begin with. Thanks!
Nanette, so happy for you and your sister!
If I had seen the end of this episode on Wednesday night I would have been going crazy all day yesterday wanting to talk about it. But I didn't watch the end of it till last night, so I've only been going crazy since then.
OMG OMG is Abel dead? So the Bible's first murder victim does end up being the first Yago victim. (Indirectly.) Remember, Abel was ready to go to the police and confess to killing the guard - until Lucio showed him the newspaper headline about the prison riot and Omar's supposed death.
What will become of Lorenzo? Will Ambar be able to keep Abel's "secret"? Will everyone laugh in her face when she says that Lorenzo is Abel's son?
The background on Lucio was interesting I guess. It does explain why he's such a devoted father, which is his only redeeming quality.
Sara didn't seem especially calm and cool to me. I thought she was numb/cold with fear. Maybe the opposite of Lucio's reaction (sloppy with fear) but just as frightened.
I'm surprised the kidnappers didn't figure out that Yago wasn't Lucio until they took off his hat. Did they not notice the big bushy beard??
Judy, "difficult to watch but impossible to turn off" is an excellent way to describe this show. A lot of this stuff is really unpleasant, but I like the way it all comes together.
Nanette, I'm glad for the good news about your sister. I'm wishing her a brilliant recovery.
I didn't think Lucio's grandmother was so bad, "Nothing is free in life. You have to work to earn your keep (sustento), with the sweat of my brow (con el sudor de mi frente).” That was the way I was raised! Instead of sweeping it was feed and water the farm animals! Of course, having your mother abandon you, give you false hope, and find her living with your brother in the same city was devastating!
JudyB, "difficult to watch but impossible to turn off," yes, so true. Love the complicated characters and their flashbacks, I'm hooked! No cookie cutter novela characters in Yago!
My favorite characters are: Fidel (I can't figure him out, he has me totally confused and I love it!), Katia (She is so bada$$), Mati (He is so adorable and feisty) and Abel (Yes, I admit I have a soft spot for the guy and I'll set up an Abel Table for me, JudyB and Niecie).
Kinoma, I loved this recap just like the other ones you provided for us here and over on the SdA patio. It saddens me that you'll be leaving us after this. Thank you for your time and effort. (Just a small rectification in Lucio's quote: He said "mejor que nadie". Better than noone, as opposed to better than nothing.)
Nanette, I'm so glad to hear that your sister's operation was a success. I'm willing with all my heart that the rest of her treatment goes smoothly and she is as good as new very soon. Please convey our best wishes to her. Much love and light to both.
Thank you again Kinoma. It's been a pleasure. Thanks in advance, Julie for your recap of tonight's episode. I look forward to reading it after I get back from my wee break.
Have a great weekend, everyone! Catch you all on Wednesday! (No Yago Monday and Tuesday)
Nandicta: SECRETS, SECRETS, SECRETS with everyone on the show & lots of ugly violent paths too. I'm still shaken with how Teo burned his sister's body to ashes.
Sandy: Now we see how Lucio grew up & his violent behavior including where he was going to kill his own mother, but stopped when he noticed his young brother.
Julie: Abel will not die because we need him alive in order to get punished by Yago!
Carvivile: I'm not sure if Lorenzo went through with going to the US because you know he keeps making dumb decisions lately.
I do remember the DNA test that Lucio had done earlier & even Yago noticed when he saw the mark on Matias' back.
Ambar keeping the secret ? Good luck with that one because she's still in danger too.
I had my Bollywood workout class last night, so was unable to finish watching the ep. I'm upset about the part I did get to see: Lucio being abandoned by his mother. I don't want to feel sorry for this guy, darn it!! Someone mentioned earlier that all of these characters are complicated. None all good, none all bad. Makes for a refreshing change from the usual TN villains/heroes.
My favs are: Katia, Bruno, Ale.
And Sara.
Just kidding.
Of our villainous trio, Lucio is the only one who has never expressed any remorse or regret for what they did to Omar. So, kudos to him for being a good dad, and he can take those kudos with him when he goes to hell.
Diving into background will only help Sara when it's her turn, I'm sure, but I'm gonna harden my heart in advance. I only hope they don't ruin the show, forcing me to accept Sara and Yago.
Nandicta, with you that Ivan Sanchez just hasn't the range for a character as you describe
If I recall, the Turkish original, "Ezel" did NOT have a happy ending, so we could see something similar.
I want Sara to DIE along with Lucio & Abel for stealing 12 years of Omar's life & destroying his family in the process by getting wealthy off of it!
