Yago Capitulo 24 :The Cogs on a wheel

Yago:  While Yago and Sara are shamelessly kissing Abel rides to Yago's spotting the devious couple. Abel seemingly disgusted with the betrayal (Of Lucio&Ambar, especially Ambar) was about to call Lucio but Yago prevented it. Yago laid his bait on Abel predicting  that Lucio will play dirty on Abel in around 24 hours. If that won't happen then Abel is free to tell Lucio. Abel warns Sara that her clock is ticking because Uncle Abel is not very patient. Yago assembles his team. Yago is to bring Lucio to Fidel's fold as Fidel will bait Lucio into accepting the dirty job. Yago also get's briefed by Ambar about the history between Camilo&Fidel (Julia told Ambar about it an episode ago) . Yago&Katia determined to protect Ambar later decide to investigate Fidel again. Yago then brings Sara into the fold but Sara had doubts at first (About betraying someone again years later). Yago orders Sara to pose as the perfect loving wife.  After Lucio apologizes to Yago about his obsessive behavior Yago baits Lucio into meeting Fidel as Yago at first prevents Lucio from meeting him but Lucio follows Yago with the cab either-way . . Fidel played Lucio to a T!

Damian&Ale: We saw a flashback of a younger but equally money grubbing Damian. From birth he taught Sara the ways of the Scam Force since nothing really comes for free, not even a soul! (I suppose Damian's past nickname was Darth  Scampaltine). Either way in the present Damian is up to no good as his latest plot includes skimming money from an old  sickly lady Sylvia (The actress portrayed the old hag Elisa in Muchacha Italiana). Ale was to pose as Alicia, the ladies missing granddaughter. Her two sons are lackeys so Alicia will get all the dough. Damian proceeds to shoot photos of Ale ,going so far to dress Alicia in her favorite colour just so that Damian could pose as a missing persons detective. The scam goes along quite well with Ale&Sylvia bonding perfectly well but everything goes amiss as Ale rejects signing the papers ,admitting her role in the crime. The old lady threatens Ale with action but somehow Ale got away scott free. Damian rants at her for failing feeling that he overestimated her ability.

Teo: After Ambar delivered the photo of Lor&Abel Teo spotted the photo .Shocked by the results he contacted Yago about it. Yago is not surprised as he knew that Abel was hiding something but Abel is still a cold blooded killer. Teo will make sure that Abel will not leave the country so that they can interrogate Lor. Teo later confronts Abel about his lies only to get Abel's ticky death threats shoved down Teo's throat!

Melina: Melina went to Ale's apartment. She wanted to know if Ale collected any clues. Ale admits she had but she is need of something concrete.Ale also asks about Bruno complaining about his mistrust of women. Melina informs Yago of the visit but Yago consults her to avoid her investigation to avoid facing danger (Too bad fella. Everyone is in danger already. No one can be safe neither from the mobs or Osorio!)

Lucio: Lucio started his daily routine by interrogating Matias about Sara while playing Tennis together. The trio later has a nice lunch later much to Lucio's surprise. Lucio informs Sara about his new business proposal that will bring them lots of money. Sara reminds Lucio of the consequences of his shady deals so Lucio decides for Abel to be his scapegoat. He does manage to convince  the suspicious Abel  since Abel always wanted to be his partner, now it is his shot besides he will only be signing documents. Abel agrees to the proposal although with gazing suspicion.

Lorenzo(Thank you Vivi in DC): Lorenzo found an old camcorder and Abel told him he could have it. He had to rush upstairs very quickly when Teo came over and left the camera rolling accidentally. The camera therefor recorded Teo asking Abel about hiding the fact that he killed Lorenzo's father, and Abel threatening Teo to keep his mouth shut about it..

Thanks, Countx! Abel agreed to the deal, but at that point he knew that Lucio was just using him as a scapegoat, thanks to Yago. Now we'll have to see what Abel plans to do to betray Lucio first...

Clever way to get Abel to keep quiet. I had not predicted that particular way out for Sara and Yago. I thought it would be blackmail on one or both sides, but it was pure brilliant manipulation. Same with Lucio. Yago and Fidel knew perfectly well how to manipulate him through his two key motivators- greed and envy. If Yago has a close, personal relationship with the powerful and mysterious Fidel, then Lucio wants it too. Even better when he heard Fidel helped make Yago rich.

I wonder how Ale convinced the elderly lady to not call the police? I was afraid she would drop dead of a heart attack after Ale told her the truth, and then Ale would never forgive herself. Glad she didn't go through with it though. Ale needs to disentangle herself from Damian. She's in too deep and this could get very dangerous. She was this close to be arrested.

One important point-- Lorenzo found an old camcorder and Abel told him he could have it. He had to rush upstairs very quickly when Teo came over and left the camera rolling accidentally. The camera therefor recorded Teo asking Abel about hiding the fact that he killed Lorenzo's father, and Abel threatening Teo to keep his mouth shut about it.

Thank you Count. I guess after this week, I'll to try and just catch up on Hulu as I'm curious to see how all this pans out and frankly, who actually survives this mess.

Thank Vivi for that last addition. I was drifting off now and then, long day, and missed that Lorenzo moment. Looks like Abel may be our first man down...which would be appropriate since he was the gun shooter. Will hate if Lorenzo is the one to take him down and an innocent is used for the revenge. If that happens, Yago needs to save that boy. He's gone through enough with these idiots.

Anything Damian sets my teeth on edge. He'll sell everyone down the river and he needs to be taken care of, if you get my drift.

Daisynjay

Gracias Vivi, I addded the Lorenzo bit to the recap.

Damian is surely corrupt .Ale is in grave danger because Damian is a better player than her. If Damian finds out about her true identity than it's over for her.

Lucio and Abel may be a cogs on the wheel but they are dangerous cogs to deal with. If the plan fails than Abel will surely tell Lucio about the affair while Lucio tells Abel about Fidel. Yago did the harm on himself.

Speaking of which Yago believing that Matias will remain unharmed by his agenda is ridiculous. Yago not only has Lucio,Sara,Abel and Damian on his target list. While Camilo&Fidel are rivals they would both sell their own kidneys for a chance of revenge if necessary. No one is "safe".

Thanks, Countx. Fine job.

I would love for Lorenzo to go to the U.S. alone and never know Abel murdered his dad. If he finds out, his trust issues will be 10x worst than Bruno's.

I knew Ale was too smart to sign the papers, but I didn't think she'd confess that Damian's name is not Carlos and the investigator is a fraud. Ale needs to watch her back now.

Hated Sara reminding Abel that he betrayed Omar too. Lady, you and Lucio brought the plan to Abel and Abel never slept with Omar. At least Abel felt bad enough to (stupidly) blow his money.

Yago smacking Ambar on the lips so soon after boinking Sara, yuck.

Niecie- The irony is that these last weeks with Abel have been really good for Lorenzo. He has opened up and become a happy kid, feeling that he finally has a "father" who is looking out for him-- feeling like he belonged somewhere and to someone. I can't even imagine the incredible hurt and anger when he discovers Abel killed his father.

Thank you Countx!

Vivi: I was also surprised that Abel agreed to keep quiet about Yago & Sara's escapade...for now.

You're right about Lorenzo being devastated when he finds out the whole truth about Abel killing his father. It's not going to end well.

Niecie: Ambar is going to find out about Yago & Sara's orgy-fest & will go complete psycho on both of them.

Countx: I've said it before & will again, Ale will not make it to the Gran Final because she keeps playing with fire in regards to the Old Pro Damian, who's a better con artist than she is.

Now we get to await the Body Count to increase, so time to get that list updated soon.

Thanks, CountX. "I suppose Damian's past nickname was Darth Scampaltine." Heh. I was falling asleep near the end of the episode and missed bits of the last couple of segments, especially the bit about the camcorder. Yikes.

I too was afraid Sylvia would drop dead of a heart attack, but luckily she held on. I thought I had dozed off or something and missed how Ale got out of that. Maybe Ale made a deal with the woman that we don't know about yet. At any rate, good for her for not going through with the scam... but now she's in trouble with Damian and we know what his friends are like. I don't think she should have told that woman as much as she did.

Count, I agree that Yago is being an idiot about Matias. Does he seriously think they can have a happily-ever-after when he sends the only parents Mati has ever known to prison (or to their deaths)?

According to my program guide, there is no episode tonight (something else is on instead), which means #24 is the last to air on Univision. I'll be getting Hulu in the hopes that I can continue watching the show without any problems, but my recaps are going to be very, very late. I probably won't get to watch the episodes until 9 pm the next day. That means I probably won't be watching TVA any more, though I will likely keep up with the recaps.

I can't help but think that this was a conspiracy on the part of Univision and Hulu from the beginning. I am quite serious about not trusting Uni again after this. They could have moved Yago to a different time, but instead they bounced it over to a sister network. That is Not Cool.

Julie- I didn't realize it wasn't on tonight. Thanks for the info. I was all set to recap! Yeah, my recaps going forward will also not be up till the next evening. But that's fine since most of us here will be watching our recordings or Hulu to next day anyway, and not watching in real time at midnight. The only folks on this patio who late recaps will really affect are Countx and Nandicta, who will get to watch the episodes at a decent time in their time zones, while those of us in the U.S. are fast asleep.

thank you count.

it is clear to me Yago wants a happily ever after with Matias and his mother. No way he'll punish Sara and have to explain to Matias.

Even if Yago plans to keep Sara around, he'll still have to explain to Mati what he did to Lucio (and Tio Abel). No way will Sara agree to be the bad guy in this. They could try to keep the backstory from Mati, but he'd find out sooner or later. This is the kind of stuff that ends up in the newspaper.

But that doesn't matter because I still think Yago plans to make toast of Sara. I'm sure she will try to play him again and he may even falter momentarily, but the way she is betraying Lucio now is just a further reminder to Yago what kind of person Sara is. Katia won't let him forget that.

Also, FWIW, my program guide could be wrong. It's been wrong before. Maybe there is an episode tonight. I will certainly look to be on the safe side - because, did I mention it before, I don't trust Univision. That's really obnoxious to cut us off even earlier than expected.

For all I know, maybe it starts on Unimas tonight. I have no idea. Grrrrr. Okay I'll stop ranting now. (For the moment) [super-angry emoji]

Great recap Count. Thank you. Loved the photo you added. Have a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach when I watch this. Everybody is suffering or is destined to suffer betrayal, loss of children, loss of trust, loss of life. The telenovela is well written and well acted but lends itself to some very dark ruminations indeed.
Have no idea if I can continue to get it on Hulu once Univision casts it aside. But very grateful for all that I have seen and for the community of recappers and commenters. TGIF everyone.

Judy, if I understood correctly, Yago was ORIGINALLY intended to show on Hulu only. (Like, made-for-Hulu.) So it should continue to be available there.

Oh wow...that's good news Julie. Well...good news for me. Hulu/Roku was a gift from one of my sons-in-law and I love it. Wish there were more than nine episodes of Grand Hotel on it though. Whinge, whinge.

I really don't understand why Hulu would have only nine episodes of anything. It doesn't make any sense, business-wise. Why wouldn't they carry the entire thing? How did they even negotiate such a deal? "Hi, TV people in Spain? This is Hulu. We'd like to show Grand Hotel. No, not the whole thing! We only want to show a small, odd number of episodes."

That is why I have some reservations about Hulu... but I am hoping that I'll get more out of this than just Yago. I've lived my life happily without Hulu thus far, but I'm willing to be impressed. (Like the very first time I used a modem, I was only going to go online once, to get a crucial piece of software. Not interested in that Internet fad at all!)

"Not interested in that Internet fad at all!" LOL, Julie! How quickly these things become indispensable.

Thank you, Countx! I look forward to reading your recap once I watch the episode.

Just a little heads up: Yago is not airing tonight, a program called "Aquí y Ahora: El Omar Que Yo Conocí" will be shown at 10 pm instead. And no, it's not about our Omar Guerrero. Loonyvision have acted like colossal jerks and disrespected this show's viewers to the bitter end.

Thank you fellow recappers and commenters for your continued dedication to this patio. Have an excellent start to your weekend! :)

Nandicta: I know that I will have UniMas ready to DVR "Yago" when it returns on Monday night at 11:00pm CST.

Julie: Let's see how long before someone does a Maury Povich on Julia.

Wouldn't shock me if she turns out to be Fidel's daughter.

Every thing about this show has me watching with my mouth wide open.

Thanks Countx for that recap...

DC area folks who do not have Hulu...sorry if this has been said but i have really on dedicated myself to one recapped show its travel season so i miss these discussions...but I found out that UniMas is channel 47 WMDO if you didn't already know. I never look at those so I had no clue.

I cancelled Hulu after only being able to watch 9 episodes of Gran Hotel, WTF? There are 3 seasons, if I understand correctly. I got it in case I missed El hotel de los secretos. I have it until the 15th.
Do any of you know if Netflix is better?. I had it a while ago, but at that time I was only watching movies, not TV programs in español.

Uni really pisses me off, 10PM is tough, but midnight? This is not Corazon salvaje 2009!

I'm sure Joan Sebastian will be good but why not move Suenos, instead of Yago?

I just subscribed to Hulu so I can get Yago. (I am dropping my Dish subscription).

Is it possible to get English captions in place of the Spanish captions?

With the Amazon Fire TV box, I can shut off the Spanish captions, but can't toggle to English captions.

With Roku 4 box, I can't seem to shut off the very large Spanish captions, and suspect that I can't get the English captions either.

With Roku, on your Home page, you can scroll down to settings. And when you get to settings you can turn the closed captions on or off. But I don't think there's a choice of language. The captions are only in the language spoken.

Although Grand Hotel came with the captions only in English, which I found very disappointing since I like seeing the Spanish written out.

Kendra: I've got my UniMas DVR ready to go at 11:00pm CST when "Yago" starts tonight!

Hope to see the recap for tonight's episode!

Anyone going to watch the Joan Sebastian show?

Anon I will. It seems to have an interesting cast featuring Livia Brito, Adalberto Parra and the actor that potrayed Osvaldo in Muchacha Italiana. It won't be a long show though with only 13 episodes. It will be over in two weeks.

They're bumping Yago for a mini-series??? Argh.

Julie: I'm NOT watching the "Joan Sebastian" show with all due respect, just waiting for the DVR to record "Yago" on UniMas.

I'm not watching Joan either. If the Hulu thing works out, I'll be watching Yago each evening, the day after it airs, and going to bed afterwards! I'll actually be watching at my own convenience for a change.

For the record: Tonight's episode won't be recapped until tomorrow night, because I won't see it until then. But I'll set up a discussion header tomorrow morning so that people who have seen it overnight don't have to wait that long to start talking about it... after all we've been Yago-less since Thursday night, and some of us might be suffering. ;-)
