Tres Veces Ana - Episode 25

A discussion page for us until Sneaky posts her recap. Excited to finally have it air again!

Sneaky's recap added!

The Bad Seed is devastated by her uncle’s disapprobation and he really is oblivious because he cant see the tears brimming in her eyes or her obvious deterioration and keeps yelling at her – how could she be so stupid, he wants her to stay away from Ramiro, he’s the boss here and must be obeyed, ect. She can’t believe he’s treating her like this, he’s never raised his voice to her before. He storms off and she runs to the bathroom to cry her little heart out and have a flashback  to a moment of rare insight into her own character – She’s crying in bed and Marcelo asks her what’s wrong, she says that even though he’s a great guy and loves her lots it’s not enough, it’ll never be enough, she feels an emptiness inside, nothing will ever be enough to fill. She’s not happy even though she’s tried to be w/him and she thought it would work, and she understands now that she never will be happy, she’s not able to be, and she doesn’t dare admit even to herself, what she really wants, but it’s not something he can get her or something she can get herself. She hugs her pillow and sobs and baffled Marcelo holds her and promises to try to make her happy. -  Back in the present she finishes crying and fixes her makeup and goes ot yeall at  Inaki and break his phone ( a girl’s gotta  do something to make herself feel better)

Valentin acts like a little kid w/Abuela; his mannerisms and speech and posture are all saying how cute and little and innocuous and innocent he is as he tells her he loves Leonore’s desserts and he visited the house before when she was away. He tells her how he wishes his fam supported him the way she does LLora  and she and we find out his dad died before his accident and his mom is dead to him, though I think Abue thinks she’s actually dead. Anyway he’s all alone in the world and didn’t have anyone to comfort him after the accident. He cries and she comforts.

Meanwhile in the kitchen Leonore tries to convince Llora she’s making a terrible mistake and that the Bad seed is all bitter inside. Llora defends her sister of course bringing up all her losses and then telling Leonore about Bad Seed’s  nighttime attacks of conscience. Now they both feel sorry for Bad Seed and they don’t even know what a crappy day she’s having.

FreeSpirit gives Santiago $$ to fix the car and promises to wait for him at Chana’s place, on the way there FreeSpirit talks about how in looooove she is and Chana reminds her he’s married and warns her to go slow.
Orlando comes up to tell all but Chana diverts the topic to him being the one who slashed the tires and he gets distracted  by his jealousy and inappropriate feelings for Free Spirit. By the end of the convo, Orlando and FreeSpirit are no longer friends, he hasn’t told her anything about her fam really and she never wants to see him again.  ( Chana *mentally dusts hands off* )
Later Chana chides Orlando for the scene and tells him the one going to get hurt in all this is FreeSpirit but he doesn’t care, he’s got a plan, Free Spirit may never love him, but he won’t walk away empty handed. He saw the DF licence plates and he’s gonna find them because Sole is so very wrong, wrong, wrong and he’s a bitter and self righteous so-and-so.

Remedios tries to make nice w/Sole and tries to get her to confide in her, but Sole only snaps at her about Santiago keeping her daughter out all night and day and says if I couldn’t confess to a priest, much less you.

The Bad Seed gets home and meets Valentin, at first she’s all territorial and bristly but then she smiles and congratulates them, somehow she manages to make it sound like a bad thing when she says they’re the perfect couple.

TioM goes to visit Ramiro to give him 5 min to beg for his apt. Ramiro promises not to pursue Llora until Tio understands his love is true, b/c he respects him so darn much.

The sisters chat. Bad Seed says she’s happy for Llora and he’s perfect for her not b/c of the wheelchair, but because he makes a perfect rebound guy, she can practice on him and play w/him and then drop him when she’s done, b/c he’s small potatoes for her and she can do better. Llora says that’s the last thing she’d do and being w/Valentin makes her feel content. Bad Seed thinks she is satisfied w/too little, she’s wearing an unusually demure dress w/only a cutout on the back, but she has a weird ring that looks like a nail sticking thru her hand.

Santiago and FreeSpirit talk w/their respective adoptive mothers, and get respectively chid for running off and making them worry, and share their we had sex news. Remedios makes me want to hug her when she asks Santiago if he used protection, neither she nor I are very reassured by his answer ‘you have nothing to worry about’ and a cat that ate the canary smile.  Sole is less practical but kinda sweet in her concern when she asks FreeSpirit if he was loving w/her. Then we move on to  the wife Evaristo told them about and how he’s gonna go see her and get a d.i.v.o.r.c.e. Santiago tells Remedios his “real” name but she doesn’t care and he assures her he’s coming back and he’ll always, no matter what, be her godson. Sole, meanwhile tries to get her daughter used to the idea that he might not come back but promises she’ll never lose her, and she doesn’t want to lose FreeSpirit either.  (because that is her main if not only motivating factor)

Orlando and Ramiro meet in a café looking like two shady dudes. Orlando wants lots o’ $$ for info. Analu is alive, and he’s the only one who can tell Ramiro where to find her.
Sinister ending music.

I haven't watched it yet, but nobody else has either? The football got us out of our routine!

I saw it. Wow... things are getting slightly closer to happening!

Okay, so when Orlando told AnaLu he didn't want her friendship, I thought she should have cut him off right there and walked away. She doesn't owe him anything else.

But then later, this is what confused me, when he was talking with Chana about how AnaLu should know her family, I agreed with him (with the caveat that she should be forewarned that they're dysfunctional). Whoa, suddenly he was talking reason? Was he sincere, or was he just trying to guilt Chana? I mean, they were rational arguments and if he had won those arguments and gotten Chana to relent, there would have been no opportunity for profit on his part. So what was he actually trying to do? Because next thing we know, he's asking Ramiro for a finder's fee. Why didn't he just skip the talk with Chana?

Is it just me, or was that confusing? Or do I just need to accept that Orlando is moody? Or was there more to his conversation with Ramiro that went over my head? (quite possible)

Julie, I totally agree about Orlando. Ana Lucía should have told him to take a hike and left herself. He is as manipulative and sick as Ana Leticia is.

This was definitely a better episode. We got to see Ana Leticia reamed out by her uncle, a fun encounter with Inaki where she busted his phone (and missed seeing the photo), more insight into her perpetually "hungry...dissatisfied" character due to guilt over her parents' death, and a partial thawing of Tio Mariano's attitude towards Ramiro.

Loved the actor's portrayal of Valentin in this one too. He seemed to be channeling Steve Martin's rendition of the handicapped brother in Dirty Rotten Scoundrels. Wonderful smarmy and ingratiating. And Abuela was eating it up with a spoon.

Altogether, pretty good stuff this time after several episodes of dreary filler.

The nosy part of me wants AnaLu to meet her sisters ASAP. The kinder, gentler part of me wants to urge her to run in the opposite direction. AnaLet's talk with Llora last night was just disturbing. And yes, Abuela was eating up Valentin's self-deprecating nonsense with a spoon.

There are so many people I'd like to slap on this show, I wouldn't know where to start.

running late typing now :)

I have to say that Valentin is so good at playing the sad, vulnerable guy that I sometimes forget that he does not have good intentions...It wasn't Ana Leticia's day was it?lol. I was a bit surprised when she was being a bit affectionate to her sister though. Wow!That's a first. I am really excited for the next episode. Finally the truth comes out.

And we're out. Next episode looks interesting!

Gracia, Sneaky.

Of course we had to expect that Orlando would want to be rewarded for this. I originally thought that Ernestina wouldn't be inclined to have Soledad arrested for kidnapping but now I'm not so sure. I'm sure Mariano might feel somewhat differently about it. He might try to convince her to press charges. That would make it up to Ana Lucia to save Soledad.

When Santiago recovers his memory will he like what he finds out? Enquiring minds are impatiently awaiting this moment.

Thank you, Sneaky. A fun recap. I did notice the weird ring. That's a sweater-snagger for sure!

I wonder if Orlando will get hit by a truck before he has a chance to tell Ramiro where AnaLu is. You know, to further delay things...

I don't think Santiago will like what he finds out when he recovers his memory. That is, I don't think he'll like who he was or the life he was living before the accident. He will want to get away from those people and be with AnaLu - but won't be able to, because she'll be with those people too!

Thank you, Sneaky. Your recap was great! I guess I will have to add Valentín to Ana Leticia and Orlando on the "Loose Screw" list. Anybody else?

Great recap, Sneaky. Moved right along, Briskly entertaining. As was the episode. For once it didn't drag and while Ana Leticia managed to diss Ana Laura and her latest beau, it wasn't over the top cruel like she pulls on the Ramiro question. Guess she doesn't take Valentin seriously. Her first mistake!

Thanks Sneaky for a great reading summary. I hadnt noticed ring, I need to take a second look.

Orlando started off w good intentions by telling A Lu the truth, but his bruised ego now is asking for money for his help. When he showed Ram her photo she was posing w a man. Not sure if that man was him or Santiago. I did little mental dance when Tio chewed her out. That was so good!

Leticia

Orlando's big problem is that he has it bad for Ana Lucía and refuses to accept the truth: she is not interested in him. He is obsessed. I think he would do anything to coerce her into a relationship with him.

Thanks for the recap Sneaky! Sorry I haven't been around but life has been happening in a big way and still going. I was behind on episodes, but with the copa americana games airing I finally caught up.

I, like many of you, am anxiously waiting for the sisters to meet and for Santi to find out he was married to Ana Let, and she was the woman of his dreams.

BTW, I liked the way they shot and edited the scene between Llora and ALet last night. Great job by the production team.

I was also happy to see that Sole didn't scold ALu for having sex. That was actually refreshing. Who woulda thought?

Thanks again Sneaky!
Hasta Pronto

Ah! Thank you AuntyAnn for reminding me - I complained a week or two ago that the scenes between AnaLet and Llora were awkward, like the timing was off. But last night's scene wasn't like that. It was perfectly done.

And I was STUNNED that Soledad didn't scold AnaLu for having sex! Maybe she was tired.

Julie - the sisters' talk about boyfriends was indeed disturbing, but it gave us some great insight about how each thinks about relationships - Bad Seed is a user, and Llora does indeed settle for too little.
____
Yes! AuntyAnn - I noticed that scene was very well done, maybe it takes them a while to get the kinks out with twin scenes.

Sole may not have scolded Analu but Chana kinda tried to at least warn her about it being a bad idea and that she's the lover of a married man now. If there ever was a time to scold someone for having sex, just after you find out he has a living wife is it.
___
Leticia - I gotta disagree w/you I don't think Orlando ever has good intentions, remember how he had Ramiro beat up (accidentally yes, but who does that?)

___
Jarifa there are so many mental health problems on this show I can't even count, it might be easier, and shorter to make a list of the completely sane people :P

Thanks so much, Sneaky! I'm just now watching last night's episode, and have to agree with everyone that Ana Lucia gave Orlando too much more of her time after he showed her who he really is. Boy, bye!

What I did find interesting in that scene was the structure Ana Lu and Chana were walking around, so finally decided to scratch my curiosity itch about the town this is filmed in. It's Bacalar in the state of Quintana Roo, and the beautiful lagoon where they boat out to visit Chana is Bacalar Lagoon (Laguna Bacalar), also known as the lagoon of seven colors. Here's a good travel vid of the town: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t11AyMfsHZY

Loved the way Inaki got one over on Ana Leticia and laughed in her face. Love how he knew exactly what trap she was laying for him. Too bad Ramiro isn't as clever.

It's been obvious to us that Ana Leticia has a pathological need to be the center of attention and loved/adored/worshiped by all around her, so it was no surprise. The only surprise was learning she has realized that about herself and vocalized it to Marcelo.

Thanks for the great recap, Sneaky! You condensed all the happenings just perfectly.

I am late watching this one, but finally finished. Wow, it was full of denial, wasn't it? Ana Let: "Marcelo, I am unhappy (and secretly in love with my uncle, but I won't mention this) and you will never make me happy". Marcelo: "I will pretend I didn't just hear that. Honey, I will dedicate my life to making you very happy".

Surprisingly, some of the same characters are still in denial even with memory loss. Santi wants to be Santiago Garcia, he will forget that he ever was someone else, divorce his wife, he is making that commitment to be Santiago. So what if he has a wife. Meanwhile, Ana Lu is pretending he ain't married and even if he is, he will divorce his wife.

And Ramiro - I am not sure what the angle was for him renting this particular apartment and then having to answer 20 cryptic questions to Mariano. Was there no other good apartment in the entire city of Mexico that came without an exam??

Isn't it also interesting that of the three sisters only Ana Leticia doesn't inspire obsession in men?

You're right Sneaky. Orlando is not nice person. For a minute he had me thinking he wanted to do right thing to help A lucia reunite with her family. But that had all kinds of strings attached and self serving.

Leticia

Yes Urban that is noteworthy that A Let with all jer revealing outfits and seductive behavior has not inspired one man being smitten by her (since Marcello anyway). I am also surprized she hasnt had any affairs either, considering her demeanor.
Leticia

Oh, just give her time. I'm sure she won't disappoint us in that!
