Un Camino Hacia el Destino-Week 23 (July 25, 2016) 1st Half
Labels: camino
And yes, I thought I remembered Maribel saying she had two children. Maybe we need to assume the daddy took them and now the three of them are "en el otro lado."
Cesarin is gone, for all practical purposes.
Felipe kind of comes and goes, right now he's in the "goes" state.
Jose hasn't been around since he helped Pedro on the new shack.
We know Andrea is still with Leo, but we haven't seen her for a long time.
Who else comes to mind?
"IF Pedro and Marissa get together, THEN will Amelia choose Super Oh!?"
The Ouija board (and I) say yes to both. I think the sweet flirting between Pedro and Amelia is the latest chapter in their truly remarkable journey. Amelia experienced the gamut of emotions from indifferent tolerance to anger, resentment and then regret, true repentence and the yearning for what she so callously rejected - her loving daughter and husband. Pedro the all too fierce protector, had his heart broken but made many errors as he compounded his daughter's problems with his selfish, all consuming desire for control. I believe these two damaged souls are destined for each other, right or wrong. It is their future.
I'm far less certain of Amelia and Super Oh...I readily admit that while I haven't seen any sparks, I like the idea of them. I have never felt that every woman must end up with someone but he is too smart and savvy (and dishy)to be alone. She also needs a strong ally to persevere and withstand Luis' verbal assaults and physical threats.
And I wish to see Fernanda with Carlos sooner rather than later. And while I want all the loose ends to come together, tied up with a huge bow, I will be sorry to leave this little community I've come to cherish.
Diana
And Diana; "And while I want all the loose ends to come together, tied up with a huge bow, I will be sorry to leave this little community I've come to cherish."
Amen to that!! This turned out to be a very entertaining tn, and the small core group who followed it have been wonderfully insightful and supporting. I can only hope that whatever replaces it will be of equal value and quality;

DELILAH! I missed comment before the new week went up but it was so much fun. I think Anita listed all of my favorite lines. Do you like me? Circle Yes or No was the best of the best in that recap.
Ok, was it me (I didn't see any comments or remember them to this) but Mariana should wear her hair down all the time. I loved it! The fact that she actually stopped obsessing over Luis for a moment and thought of her actual husband shocked me a great deal.
Diana and David, I agree! I want to see the happy ending, but I fear the end of our little group.

Ok Im in the middle of watchin tonights episode so Im gonna hang up now. I'll catch yall tomorrow. Very busy day.
Good night. Thanks Anita!!! :-)
Part 1. We pick up where we left off with Mariana telling Luis that there was no way she was giving his bastard her money. Carlos and Pedro trying to figure out what Luis is up to this time – because he’s always up to something. Finally, Hernan and Fer are fighting about the accident that didn’t happen and wonder boy riding in to save them as if they were trapped in a cave for weeks. I love to see them together but this was just extra.
Hernan arrives home and Mariana asks if he found Camilla and deduces that he didn’t. She then proceeds to be her own cheerful self and Hernan walks away from her, goes to their bedroom, grabs a pillow and tells Mariana that from now on they sleep in separate rooms and when he finds his daughter they are out of that house. She actually seems disappointed.
Next morning at Casa Gómez Ruiz, Carlos tells Marissa about Luis ‘trying’ to choke Pedro. (it looked to me as if he was actually choking Pedro, but I get caught up in facts – sorry) Marissa says she can’t believe it, huh? She is flabbergasted at what it is that he won’t do. (I can imagine the horror of realizing that you married a serial a**hole) The wrong man is one thing…the Green River Killer is another. Clarita brings coffee, which gets her yelled at by Carlos, and a newspaper with the headline - The Gómez Ruiz family brutally harassed honest and decent Mr. Luis Montero, victim of adultery, by his wife, Marissa Gómez Ruiz. “ “FAMILIA GOMEZ RUIZ ACOSA BRUTALMENTE AL HONESTO Y DECENTE LICENCIADO LUIS MONTERO, VICTIMA DE ADULTERIO, POR PARTE DE SU ESPOSA, MARISSA GOMEZ RUIZ.” (Ok, so I froze and typed the title and as I’m typing, I’m cracking up!) He is ridiculous.
FYI – I used Spanish dictionary. I didn’t need it for the actual words (those were pretty simple even if you know absolutely not one word of Spanish), but my phrasing is not always correct. Like Creer is believe or trust so how it’s put together could say either.
Marissa calls Luis a moron and hands the paper to Carlos who continues to read that Marissa is trying to force a divorce so she can live in bliss with Super Oh…well who could blame her. Look at him. She is disgusted because now there is more scandal surrounding her.
Hernan is having coffee when Amelia comes in to talk about the accident and his heart troubles. Hernan proceeds to ask Amelia to guide Camilla if something were to happen to him. Her being a great mother and all – ok, let me stop as she has been trying. As Hernan continues to tell Amelia what a great example and good role model she is (I choke on my own spit) she tries to convince him that Camilla will need him to be strong and to fight for his family. He says he doesn’t have family and Amelia says that she and Fer are his family.
At the jail, Leo thinks he’s famous because he’s gotten all sorts of visitors as it’s now Super Oh who has come a calling. Ordonez says he’s going to do everything he can to help to free Leo and since Andrea is in the US, he needs Leo to testify. Leo says that whether he can free him or not, he will testify against Luis and will wait in jail for him so that he can take revenge even if he spends the rest of his life in jail…revenge will be sweet. Dun dun dun!
Back at the Furball Inn, we find Luis and his cheshire cat gloating about how ignorant, I mean brilliant Luis is by putting that ad in the paper and influencing the judge.
At the jail Inspector Medina is handing one his detectives a summons and telling that detective that we have to be careful and do everything by the book because this is a slippery snake and he will do everything he can to get off on a technicality. After he leaves Lucero’s mom shows up wanting to file a missing persons report. The Inspector listens to Lucero’s mom and agrees that things sound a little strange, but there isn’t a lot they can do because maybe Diego (her husband) is telling the truth and Lucero doesn’t want to see her mom. She agrees, but wants to hear it from her mouth after she lays eyes on her to make sure she’s alive. He does agree to check things out and get back to her.
At the Tumbleweed Motel, Luis is still full of himself and bragging that he will get Mariana to drop her claim to Don Fer’s fortune and once Fer gets the money he will manage it and like any pet Solorzano congratulates him on his stupidity. Just then the detective shows up to give him the summons to appear in court “tomorrow” for the attempted murder of Marissa. Solorzano fearing his freeloading days are numbered goes over to the table and pours himself a free whiskey and asks Luis how he’s gonna get out of going to prison. Luis blames Marissa, but Solorzano says nope this is Carlos doing. He’s cleverer than we thought. Luis is going to teach him respect, but not today he has to deal with Leo’s testimony. Solorzano reminds Luis that it’s not just Leo he has to worry about but his other pet cat Isa. Luis says that Isa is loyal (most pets are) and just then his cat rolls in from outside whining about Carlos being the reason why she turned to Luis and Luis says that he’ll make him pay and strokes her fur.
At Fer’s house (Altamirano/Perez) She and Hernan have a heart to heart and agree to bury the hatchet until Camilla is found. (fist bump) Hernan asks Fer for forgiveness for trying to hurt her because he was poisoned by Eve’s forbidden fruit tree, but now he’s seen the light. (fist bump) Hernan then flashes back on his mistakes with Camilla by forcing her to testify against Fer, throwing Vladi out, and then slapping the taste out of her mouth. Fer says that Camilla’s heart doesn’t have room for hate. Please get her to change her hair color back, he says he tried and they have a little laugh about it. (That girl has put that Amelia-gene voodoo on Mr. Clean) If that doesn’t happen I will love her from a distance with Fer’s help, she adds (fist bump).
Blanca realizes that only one side of the Sotomayor bed was slept in and finds the other side in Camilla’s bedroom. Moments later she’s in the dining area where Mariana comes in asking for her breakfast. Amelia reproaches her about how she treats her husband, Blanca double-teams her stating that she knows they didn’t sleep together last night. They know Hernan loves Mariana despite how she treats him and it will be hard for another man to love a bitter bitch like her. Oh and you don’t have your father here to force another man to marry you.
Paco, Paco, Paco. He is letting Fer and Carlos have it (OMG – I love him). He’s like how are you so busy that you keep forgetting to bring my baby brother when I’m home and not at school. They sputter some crap that he isn’t trying to hear. Paco says if I’m family then treat me like family, if not we can still be friends and bolts to his room. Marissa tells them that he is right and they agree. Carlos goes to talk to him. While he does that Fer tries to get Marissa to go out and walk the gardens. She isn’t in the mood. Fer figures that it’s because of her idiot sperm donor. She tells Marissa that she is too classy to be brought down by that idiot. Marissa is happy that Fer is so awesome. A little later Fer plays her violin for Marissa like they are at a concert and she is taking it all in. Marissa is impressed by her talent. She says she should study music further, but the talent is undeniable. Who is Fer to argue with a classy, cultured, and well-traveled lady? As they are talking about Fer traveling in the future…my boy Paco comes out wondering where his absent father ran off to. Marissa and Fer thought he was in there talking to him. He tells him that he was in his room talking non-sense but then he left. Just then Carlos shows up with Pedrito and finally introduces that boy to his baby brother. Paco gives the cutest hug that melted me into a million pieces. The two proceed to have a ball playing together – it’s so cute.
Witchy poo is bothering Hernan in his office (looking all sad)
Mariana – I missed you last night.
Hernan – well, I didn’t miss you! Best sleep ever!
Mariana – why you being so mean? It’s cuz I’m a bitch, huh and didn’t help you find your mix-matched headed child? We don’t agree about her but we can still be friends.
Hernan – I can’t fight with you anymore. I can’t count on you anyway. I got family to count on.
Mariana – who you got?
Hernan – well you know it aint you! But I got Fer!
Mariana – the bastard!
Hernan – No, Fernanda
That last exchange goes back and forth. Mariana wants to know when she stopped being their enemy. Hernan says that Fer isn’t his enemy and he was wrong about her. Mariana is pissed and starts to irritate him again into chest palpitations. Mariana concerned (for her own loneliness) wants to know if he’s ok. Hernan laughs at her concern and tells her he doesn’t know if what he actually feels for her is love, indifference, or nothing. Mariana has stank face.
Sister Rosaura has pulled Diego out of class to discuss a parent’s complaint about him kissing a student in the middle of town. Rosaura is concerned about his history of predatory behavior and the school can’t let THIS one go unchecked. Diego denies that it ever happened and warns/threatens Rosaura to mind her business. My wife is happy at home (I guess this is happening at the same time that Lucero is finally trying to alert people that she wants out) Rosaura looks worried because he is squeezing her hands pretty tight during this exchange.
Lupe and Super Oh are walking somewhere discussing Luis trying to kill Marissa and destroying the bank. We can only get him for one thing at a time. Once Leo testifies against him we can put that snake in jail.
Well, speaking of Leo. He is at the jail doing something that looks like sweeping the floor, but I can’t be sure. He has a broom. He is moving it in a sweeping motion. There is dirt on the floor, but I’m not sure if he’s playing with it or trying to clean it up. Then there is an obvious plan by two men to distract the guard, bump into Leo to start a confrontation, and a third man to stab him with a modified tooth brush. Then they all yell for the guards to come and declare they didn’t see nuffin! It really was smooth how they did that.
Back at Hotel Hell, Luis is trying to convince Isa to be his key witness in his case. She doesn’t want to do it. During this exchange Solorzano’s phone rings and he confirms that “the job” is done. Isa wants to know what they are talking about, but they give no details. Luis just says that he has to protect himself from multiple attacks. Isa is now realizing how many enemies this crazy person has and he confirms that he has many. But he is cream and he will always rise to the top.
It’s night time and Super Oh has come a calling to deliver some bad news. He tells Carlos that Leo has been stabbed so that quickie trial might not happen. Marissa walks in and see that familiar – we got some f’d up news- face from those two and wants to know, what now?
At the tool shed, sorry the Perez home, Felipe appears to give Fer and Pedro exciting news. He explains that although they couldn’t get the charges dropped against Fer and she’s on probation that with the knowledge that he’s a crazy mofo that can’t be trusted, we can probably now get you cleared of the charges. Fer doesn’t want to get her hopes up because she knows he’s a slippery lying snake and will probably find a way to slither out of going to jail. Smart girl. Pedro is like, well yeah he’s capable of anything especially after what happened yesterday. Fer – what happened yesterday? Luis tried to choke me. (he tried?) Fer has shocked face.
Me - you awake?
Hubby - yeah, I was sleep but your typing woke me up.
Me - my bad, I'll do this in the morning.
Hence my later than usual posting.
As always, please correct what I got wrong. I won't learn if I don't know.
Alright, I guess I'll get ready to go to work.
Favorites last night. The verbal sparring between Hernan and Mariana, Paco dressing em down and Fernanda played a different song for Marissa.
I find myself kind of chuckling during the Luis scenes. He's delusional and arrogant and for some reason, it makes me amused that he has such a never-quit attitude towards his skullduggery. Also "Mariana has stank face." She really does give great stank face!
Otherwise, not the most exciting episode for me (except for Leo getting stabbed; poor guy) but every show needs these transitional, fill in the details episodes.
"The wrong man is one thing…the Green River Killer is another" and "like any pet Solorzano congratulates him on his stupidity" were among many favorites.
With all that is transpiring, I am most transfixed by the “lost boys” Hernan and Paco. Hernan's unexpected tip toeing into humanity was startling. His conversation with Fernanda and the fist bumping was exactly how I would imagine their declaring a truce would happen. The writers nailed it here. No sky opening, heavens beckoning moment of revelation for Hernan. But rather a gentle ray of sun... "(That girl has put that Amelia-gene voodoo on Mr. Clean)" was perfect Kendra.
"Hernan laughs at her concern and tells her he doesn’t know if what he actually feels for her is love, indifference, or nothing". Oh Mariana. Bye girl bye.
Amelia's redemptive journey continues "He says he doesn’t have family and Amelia says that she and Fer are his family". After all, if her family can forgive her who frankly was just as if not crueler than Hernan, then there is certainly hope for him.
"Paco says if I’m family then treat me like family, if not we can still be friends". What personality, what heart and honesty. I also loved the two brothers together.
I am so happy to see all the marvelous recaps and commenters join Anita -David, Aleta, DY, Delilah, tofie and you Kendra. Anita, you put this all together for us and created an amazing team. Thank you all.
Did I hear ultimate semanas??? Oh no...
Diana
Wow! Hernin and fer. Fist bumppin! Wow! 3 times! Do ya think theres hope for auntee M? In what universe? It depends on your mood. Does it sound like Im havin a conversation with myself? Could be.lol. Im likin hernin now, hes got heart, I Just hope it doesn't attack him. Maybe it wont since he moved out of the room of mean moma.
I love how little paco is a no nonsense little boy. Its good he is that way. Hes a watcher. nobodys gonna pull nothing over on him. He needs that, since hes now part of a family, or two that sometimes misses it. Alot. But since the show is kind of winding down, they'll smartin up. Cuz this kid will call them on there mess. Good for you paco!!!
By the end of this show izzy will probably be bald. She'll go to prison for being stupid enough to get mixed up with the moron. The cell mates will hold her down and shave her head. Im just guessin. But what if? Kendra, you and hubby have some interesting conversations. Girl you are funny. You should write a script for these people.
Thank you my dear! :-)
Nina - Does it sound like Im havin a conversation with myself? Could be.lol. (HAHA!)
Ever since Paco arrived and when they show him, I get excited. He is my comic relief on this show. Everywhere else is serious, sad, ridiculous, loving, touching, or just plain evil. He brings the funny! Especially when he is calling people on their bull!
Part #1:
Courtroom: Fernanda and Pedro go to the courtroom where Luis is about to be tried for the attempted murder of Marissa. While Pedro is outside (parking the truck or something), Luis confronts Fernanda. He calls her “Hija.” She tells him that she’s not his child. She unloads on him for coming to her house and trying to choke Pedro.
Marissa arrives and has to deal with a bevy of reporters. Luis is playing to the crowd, while Marissa tells them that she’s only there to tell her story to the judge. She sees how upset Carlos is getting and advises him to keep his cool. “Don’t fall into Luis’s trap. He’s hoping to make us look bad.”
Carlos is called as the first witness.
School for girls: Sister Sonrisa is singing cheerfully. “I have a bigger repertoire than a mariachi,” she boasts. Inspector Medina shows up to question Diego, but Diego is nowhere to be found. He’s disappeared with Olivia, the girl with the long red hair.
Back in the courtroom: Luis is grilling Carlos. “You’ve always wanted to separate me from your mother.”
“Yes, because you’re only interested in her money.”
Luis gets the upper hand here, inciting Carlos to explode with anger.
Ordóñez calls their star witness, and in rolls Leopoldo, in a wheelchair with an IV attached, looking pretty ragged after being stabbed with a pointy object in the jail. He stares at Luis. “You tried to kill me in the prison, and you couldn’t. So now I’m here to testify. You stole my life. You wounded me and put me in prison.”
Altamirano construction company: Hernan tells Amelia, “You don’t know how good it makes me feel that you’re here … I have my head in the clouds.” Amelia takes both his hands to comfort him, and she tells him that they’re going to find Camila. Just then, Mariana walks in and catches them holding hands.
Mariana tells Amelia, “You know that Hernan is too much for you.” Amelia leaves, and Mariana asks Hernan to come back to their bedroom.
Hernan says, “What I need is peace, and you can’t give it to me.”
Somewhere in another pueblo: Camila is hungry and looking for work. She promises to do anything for a job, but (fortunately) no one takes her up on her offer.
Chapel at the school for girls: Rosaura is praying. She’s afraid she’s going to lose her job.
Meanwhile, somewhere else at the courthouse: Diego and Olivia are getting married. Diego tells her that he’s going to dedicate his life to making her happy. (Viewerville bets that he says that to all the girls.)
Courthouse: Leopoldo gives details about Luis, and tells how Luis had a saying to explain why he chose to pursue Marissa instead of Amelia Altamirano, “Bank trumps construction company.”
We see a flashback with Leopoldo telling a pony-tailed Luis, “But she (Marissa) has twice your years.”
“Yes, but triple my wallet.”
Back to the present, Luis yells out, “That’s a lie.”
Leopoldo responds, “He never took care of that woman (Amelia) and her baby. He wanted to be one of the most powerful men in Mexico and have one of the biggest fortunes.”
In another pueblo, far, far away: Camila has finally found work. She’s mopping floors and setting tables at an outdoor restaurant. She is resigned to her fate. “This is my life.”
Courtroom: Leopoldo continues his diatribe. “You put me in the hospital. You could never accept that Andrea and I were together and that she left you.”
Luis gloats that Andrea was his lover for several years. (This seems like a misstep, but Luis is admitting this in order to show Leopoldo’s motives for shooting Luis and why he was put in jail.) He tells Leopoldo that Andrea will forget about him.
Leopoldo says, “She could never forget me. She’s in the U.S. working and couldn’t come, and besides, we have an excellent relationship.”
“A relationship that’s not the same now that you’re in prison,” Luis gloats. He tells the court, “He is driven by the feelings of hate, envy, and jealousy that he has for me.”
Chapel at the school for girls: Inspector Medina tells Rosaura that they went to the address given for Diego’s house, but he wasn’t there. And the phone number that Diego had given wasn’t good either. Medina also says that people are living at the address that Diego gave, and they told the investigators that this isn’t the first time for this confusion. Medina reminds Rosaura of her legal problems, and she responds that her problems are the last thing on her mind. She’s more worried about the girls, Olivia and Lucero. Medina says, “I’m going to do everything in my power to find him and bring him to justice. Diego has all the earmarks of a psychopath.”
Diego’s new apartment: Diego carries Olivia over the threshold. Olivia tells him that she wants to have another wedding, in front of all of her friends from the school. Diego says “Yes, we’ll try to do it, but don’t forget that we escaped and are in hiding.” He says that they’ll have to look for another place, but the important thing is that they’re together.
Olivia says, “Promise me that I’m the only one for you.”
And Diego answers, ominously, “I promise that you’ll be the only one, my love.”
Back in the courtroom: Marisa asks Luis, “Remember when we went to the spa? Where you wanted to kill me?”
“What was my reaction? What did I do?”
“You saved my life.”
(While it might seem that way to Marissa, who could barely catch a breath and was flailing about in the pool on the brink of drowning, the Patio sees a flashback of the true situation. When Luis saw that Marissa had fallen into the pool, he just stood there, drinks in hand, until one of the spa attendants jumped in to save Marissa. Luis realized that Marissa was going to be saved and decided to take the credit for the rescue, so he tossed the drinks and pretended to save her.)
The trial is adjourned until the next day. Pedro and Fernanda take their leave.
Carlos tells Isabela that he wants a word with her. She responds, “If I align with Luis, it’s my business, not yours.”
Pedro’s casita: When Pedro and Fernanda arrive home, something is amiss. And is it ever! They’ve been robbed, and Maribel and Pedrito are missing.
On the streets in the pueblo: Maribel is selling pots, pans, and other household goods stolen from Pedro and Fernanda. Pedrito is with her.
Aleta, if you are in Fla without air-conditioning you are working under duress! But, this was still wonderful.
I don't know if these legal scenes in our stories accurately depict the Mexican legal system but I am confused as to why Ordonez and Felipe, who are not part of the government, are seemingly acting as prosecutors in something that should be a criminal trial, not a civil one.
Camila is coping the best she can, I suppose, and is convinced and resigned to the fact that this is her new fate, and she must accept it. She kind of amazes me, actually.
I hope Diego the deranged has some mechanism for taking care of Lucero, and that she doesn't starve to death locked up in that apartment. Better yet, I hope some other tenants hear her cries and call the cops. To me, Olivia didn't seem as over the moon, anything goes as Lucero did. She is putting some boundaries on their relationship.
Regarding the drowning scene, I think Isy saw it all, and her testimony may be key to getting to the truth. The question is, how much will she demand from Carlos to give it.
I did not see that kidnapping by Maribel coming, and I don't know how they are going to solve it. I didn't see anybody actually buying anything from Maribel.
Thanks again to both Kendra and Aleta.
David
"bevy of reporters", "Diego tells her that he’s going to dedicate his life to making her happy. (Viewerville bets that he says that to all the girls.)" were among many favorites.
I was chilled by Diego last night. He is more sinister by the moment (great acting by Arturo)...David, I totally agree that Olivia is high spirited and does not appear as easily pliable as Lucero. I'm concerned we didn't see her last night though...
I was shocked as I never expected Maribel to abscond with Pedrito. I mean we know she had an addiction to stealing but to take the child was an unexpected twist.
Leo is one hell of a fighter! I agree that something needs to happen to free Carlos. I do not think he will agree to anything Issy proposes...
As much as Fernanda states the obvious (that she loathes Luis), he seems immune to her scathing remarks. He just doesn't seem to want to respect her wishes (or ours) that he evaporate into thin air.
Aleta, thank you again!
Diana
Speaking of people with issues... Diego! I was so squicked out by those scenes. Honestly, Rosaura and the school should be sued to high heavens for not vetting him.
I'm glad Camila found work. She was getting hangry!
I am curious to see if Isy will tell the truth about Marissa's near-drowning tonight. David, I just assume the town only has three doctors and three lawyers, so that's why Felipe and Ordonez are prosecuting but yup, it's really just the telenovela justice system at its finest.
Diego is the baddest unlike the cartoon cutout villains Luis and Mariana. He's in the wrong show
Kendra--The day got away from me and I never got back to make anymore comments. Everyone filled in nicely.
Yes, Rosario and the school should have vetted Diego, but apparently he's done this before and knows how to work around the system. If they had just checked his address that might have exposed him earlier. This is a very small town, too. But how many prospective employers actually go and check out someone's address or phone number. Usually it's the references that carry the most weight. Wonder how he did that. Or, the school was so desperate for a substitute, they just went on a face-to-face interview and he comes across as very level-headed, earnest and sincere (and handsome).
Lucero needs to break one of those windows and start shouting.
Olivia's new "hideaway" seems filled with art works on the walls. When I caught a glimpse of the backside of a nude I thought it was inappropriate, but was really surprised when the camera focused on it directly.
I think we can tell Mariana's Jekyll from Hyde personalities. When she's being reasonable and "thoughtful," her hair is down; when she's being bitchy her hair is pulled back tight.
It's about time Marissa counter-sues for adultery. Super Oh!, Carlos, Marissa and Fer all seemed quite positive about the outcome at the beginning. Luis was able to turn the witnesses on themselves and ended up seeming very weak. Did we even get much of a rebuttal from Ordonez? Surely they could have reached Andrea by closed-circuit television--or is that too much to ask of a small town. Leo looked as though he was at death's door. I was afraid he would keel over before he got all his "evidence" out.
I hate Luis' gloating grin of superiority.
Like everyone else, I was sure it would be Luis and Isabela who engineered Pedrito's kidnapping (which I was also sure was going to happen). For Maribel to clean out the shack and take the baby was really a shock. Wonder if she did this because Javier never got interested in her as other than a patient. Maybe La Malquerida will help find her.
Hmmm to Camila and her new job. She seems resilient and resigned. How are Fer and Herm going to find her in a different town. Maybe they will stop there for a bite to eat while they are searching.
Again, I was gobsmacked at this turn of events which is another solid credit to the writers here.
I did notice Maribel's name was in the credits but saw nothing for Malquerida. While I may have missed it, I can't help but wonder if she and Jav absconded into the night? Wouldn't that have been fun! A far fetched but fun hypothesis for two of the characters we may never see again.
Diana
I don't think he ever said goodbye to Fer and Pedro, did he? He had more impact on their lives (and Adelina's) than he did on Maribel's that we were witness to, anyway. It was only Maribel he told he was leaving.
One of the things I (personally) consider a weakness in the Lartilleux productions I've had the privilege to watch are that some characters come on strong in the middle, add substance to the story and then just go away. Brandon did it in Corazon Indomable. It's like she doesn't trust her story to keep the viewers interested until the end.
Non-Alert Spoiler--Fernanda knows where Lucero is being imprisoned. We saw her go there and knock on the door. I wish Rosario would ask her if she knows where Lucero might be.
now about that lying liar in the courtroom Louy must feel good and proud about his shadow small victories he should enjoy them they will be short-lived. he and the furball hair on a stick will have a hard fall when the s*** hit the fan. I am so looking forward to their Boulders falling, they are so deserving of every last one. Marisa is kicking herself for 19 plus years of wasted time with that worm of a so-called man. I hope she and Iggy find their way to each other after all this mess is over.
what the hell is going on with Maribel? Did Xavier make any recommendations for Maribel to stay in therapy for her sticky finger problem? the way her mind is she could be thinking a little sweetie-pie is hers and Javier's love child, and selling pots and pans to make money to get to him. Poor baby mommy and Grandpa left him with Aunty Maribel who's flown Over the Cuckoo's Nest. I hope she gets the help she needs cuz there is obviously some underlying problem with this woman that Javier Missed. Cuz he was too hung up on Fernanda. I hope they find them before she decides she needs to sell pedrito to get some money. what a mess.
Wouldn't it be great if Paco found them? these grown-ups are just a mess. I hope they get it together for the sake of these children and future children.
Thank you Aleta. Feel better:-)
Pedro and Fer return home to find the place empty and Pedrito and Maribel gone. Fer heads out to search for them and Pedro will look around some more.
We go to some place in town where Maribel has all the household stuff displayed and is putting the hard sell on some woman. Pedrito is there safe and is playing. Jay happens on them, instantly sees what's going on and tells the woman Maribel was working on the e stuff is info sale, and she leaves. Jay questions Maribel about Pedrito and she flies off the handle, saying that no one an question her love for Pedrito.
Carlos decides to waste some time by asking Isy to tell the truth. She's like, what's in ti for me? Nothing, Carlos says. How about this, she asks - you leave Fer and come back to me, and I'll five testimony that will up Luis away for life
Jav is asking Maribel hw is going on She thinks she just ha a relapse. Jay asks her, didn't we have a commitment? Maribel tells him she wasn't really paying attention during therapy because she had her mind on something else "What?" Jay wants to know.
Just then Fer runs up, grabs Pedrito, and asks what's going on? Maribel starts crying. She tells Fer all her stuff is here, but she just couldn't avoid doing this. Perdoname, she begs over and over.
Back with Carlos and Isy, she wants to know what he thinks of her proposal. Carlos tells her she is disturbed,m Isy says he wants something for nothing. Carlos explains that one tells the truth on the stand because it si the correct thing to do, no to get something in exchange, besides, she is a big friend of Marissa's, isn't she? Isy explains that Marissa has been mistreating her lately. Isy says she's been thinking of the gardener's daughter and her bastard son. Cats tells her to back off. He's Pedrito's father, and she comes from humble but honest people. But Isy comes from imprint people, but doesn't know how to love. He tells her to do what she wants, and angrily flips a bill on the table to pay for the coffee. He leaves after telling her that being near her disgusts him.
Solozarno is mixing drinks for he and Luis while complementing Luis on being a great lawyer - a champion, in fact. Just when it seemed lost, Luis pulled the fat out of the fire. Luis flashes back to getting Marissa to negate her own allegation by admitting that Luis saved her life - but, he's none too happy with Solorzano because he ordered Leo DEAD, and it didn't happen.
Maribel's homecoming is sad - she knows she screwed up, and she's willing to leave, but Pedro says no, she is part of the family and they're there to help. He does scold her for taking Pedrito without telling them. He tells her she has to take responsibility for her actions, which Jav agrees to.
Solozorno and Luis are still swirling their drinks. Luis wants Leo dead and Solozarno says ok. They are counting on Isy to lie for them. But Solozarno says to remember she is in love with Carlos, and may be a weak link in their evil chain.
Back at Pedro's, Jav says that he and Maribel have to leave. "To the police?" wonders Maribel. No, to the office to contuse her therapy. They say adios as Rosaura walks up and tells them of the trouble sh's in about Diego, Lucero and Red. She may loose the school over this
Lucero is sitting alone in the apartment and says she hasn't seen Diego in two days. She wondered if something happened to him. I've got to get out of here, she thinks to herself. This is a prison and Diego selected it perfectly. "How low I've fallen, she laments over and over. She flashes back to face to face with her mother when she told her that she was deciding things for herself now, and her mother stomped off.
David
Pedro and Fer are surprised - they seemed like the perfect couple, but they remember that something hanged in Diego the day Fer had her get out of prison party. Rosaura shows Fer the address she was given. Fer says this isn't correct. Diego says, of course not, nothing the guy provided is correct. Fer says, no I was there. I know where Lucero lives.
After the break, Fer leads Pedro and 3 cops to Lucero's apartment. Fer wants to come with them so she can comfort Lu, so the cops tell her to stand back. The cops pound on the door, and finally break in to find that. . .LUCERO IS GONE.
Olivia is basking in the afterglow of Diego's lovemaking skills and says she wants to stay in his arms. He, on the other hand, says she's all his. He then gets out of bed and announces he has an appointment. Red is like WHAT? Diego had to find another job. Red starts connection dots. Then what they say about you at school is correct? What do they say? That you married another girl from school. Diego finally adios this, ub says that girl - Lucero - abandoned him. . .but he knows that Olivia will never betray him.
The cops frantically search the apartment and the head cop finds Lucero's diary that says "Help me. Diego is sick . I'm afraid he's going to kill me."
Right on cue, Diego brings Lucero into a rundown shack and tells her how proud he is of her for not talking to anyone on the street. He says he lover her, but Luxero tells him that isn't love. She says she's afraid he's going to hurt her, but Diego swears he would 'quit life" before he would hurt even one of her hairs. Then he gives her a creepy, controlling hug.
Carlos, Marissa, Paco and Pedro are on a picnic. The boys are playing with a soccer ball - and Paco sees a frog under a tree. (Finally a frog in this love story; I was sick of toads.) Paco tells Carlos that his little brother is cool. Carlos comes over and shows Pedrito how to kick the ball, while Marissa is having left arm pain and looks like she may kick the bucket. Taco comes over and asks about her distress, but she says it's nothing, and don't tell Carlos. Taco suggests they all get ice cream, so Carlos and Pedrito go to get some. Marissa, still in pain, sends Paco off to get some for her too.
Pilar, Lucero's mom is at the cop station with Pedro and Fer. She is surprised that they couldn't return Lucero safe and sound. The cop explains that they're doing everything they can, but all the info they have is bogus. They are going to widen their search efforts by using TV, social media, etc. The cop assures Pilar that this has become his priority, and Fer, who got sent up the river because of a corrupt system, urges Pilar to have faith in the system.
Okay, we are back at Diego's sugar shack, where he's not getting the exact vibe he requires from Lucero. He asks her if she can love him like before, ub she admits she can't. She offers to get him some help for his problem. His response is, "Then this is your house an you tomb forever." He closes and locks the substantial door and walks off as Lucero screams for help.
In a family dinner scene, Maribel, Pedro, Pedricito and Fer are and something that is "que rico." Pedrito is making comments in the background (this kid has really warmed to this situation), when Pedro gets a call on his cell. (Wait a minute, they use logs for chairs, but Pedro has a cell phone?) The whole scene reminds me of the play title "A Tree Grows out of Brooklyn." Pedro takes the call outside because it's personal business. (I'm thinking tryst with Amelia) While Pedro is gone, Maribel asks if Fer could really participate in sending her "real father" into that inferno they just got out of? Fer says that her real fear is uo on the porch, and the guy wo whom she is referring earned his own place in hell.
David
Luis oozed into the room and confronts Marissa with you better come to an agreement with me or all your dirty laundry will be exposed to these people.
Pedro comes in and stands behind Luis and asks if everything is okay. Luis turns on him and tells him to go do the only thing he knows - tending plants. He struts up to his seat for the proceedings with a confident smile on his face while Marissa keeps Pedro from punching his lights out.
Fer is trying to comfort Carlos who is very nervous and uncertain about how Isy's testimony will turn out. Fer, who has certainly been through more than stressful stuff than Carlos urges calm.
They go in to take their seats and are confronted by oozy Louie calling her hija. Jeez. They blow him off and take their seats, but not before Louie says she's his pride and joy, and that he loves her very much. Yeah, Louie.$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$
Hernan is in his office anguishing over Camila's fate, when he gets a call from the police. He runs to Amelia's office distraught. She sees his anguish, rises from her chair, and asks what's wrong? They've found someone meeting Camila's description, he tells her, and she's dead. They want me to identify the body. Will you come with me? Amelia agrees.
In court, Isy is sworn to tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth. She says she has a responsibility to do this. The she proceeds to lie her ass off. For some reason Ordonoz allows her to pontificate from the stand that Luis loves Marissa with all his heart, and Marissa needs to search her heart and return to this good man.
Malquerida is making sup[per at Jav's. She thinks it's delicious, but maybe a little bland. She adds more spicy stuff. Jay walks in and doesn't like the smell. She has him try some and almost incinerates his taste buds. He sits down at the table, and I guess sh's going to serve it to him anyway. He is smiling happily through this entire exchange. She gives him a shop of tequila to calm his burning tongue.
In the courtroom the judge delivers his verdict. In the absence of proof or corroboration for the charges, he finds Luis not guilty. In the U.S. that would mean he could never be tried again on those charges.
OMG Luis' victory smile was nauseating.
Davie
As always, please feel free to criticize, correct or add to anything I have posted. I have very thick skin.
David
"Rosaura walks up and tells them of the trouble sh's in about Diego, Lucero and Red. She may loose the school over this" Frankly, she should! And I hope Diego gets all the worst anvils that this show will have to give in the end. He's horrific and scary.
"Fer, who got sent up the river because of a corrupt system, urges Pilar to have faith in the system." Ugh, this is so true. Fer also has been doing the same with Marissa during this latest trial.
I am totally team Malquerida and Javier. They have a really cute chemistry.
dy, thank you. I am so embarrassed by all the typos. I don't type well at any time, but at 3 A.M. it gets much worse.
Like you, I think Malquerida is delightful and bubbly (when she's not trying to stick someone with a shiv). I too think that Jav and she have promising chemistry.
David
"Carlos decides to waste some time by asking Isy to tell the truth", "The boys are playing with a soccer ball - and Paco sees a frog under a tree. (Finally a frog in this love story; I was sick of toads)" and "Luis oozed into the room" were among many favorites.
Lucero. I was actually yelling at the screen telling her to play it cool when she was locked in the shed. Play along girl or you know you will be left there! Alas, she didn't listen. I thought the detective was truly berating himself for not having arrived sooner. Now they have Lucero's diary leaving no doubt she is in the hands of a madman. There must be someone who saw what happened??
I admit I felt a pit in my stomach when Hernan got the call. I will not believe Camila is dead until I see it with my own eyes. Hernan's being alone and lonely was proof positive when the only person he had to help him was his sister in law whom he did nothing but disparage and treat more than shabbily.
Still flummoxed as to what got into Maribel. I'm a little confused as to how old the character is supposed to be? She appears to be well in her 40's..
Ahh, a most welcome Malqerida sighting!! I just love her and Jav together. I strongly suspect she must have had mess hall duty, it appeared she had enough food for an army...
I thought Jav was going abroad. I wonder what other duties he will be assigned, rescuing Pedrito aside.
My absolutely favorite scene was the two brothers playing ball. When Pedrito was sitting on the ball, Paco skillfully and carefully extracated it from under him yet the child never faltered or fell. I sense a soccer career in Paco's future. I just love that child - he is so earnest, honest and downright adorable.
No surprises from the trial. I didn't think a pang of humanity would make Isy change her mind about her lie filled testimony and I was right.
Marissa has another health crisis in the making. I wish she were being honest about how she is feeling. Why do those who are ill or suffering not seek help??
I could go on and on...
David, you hit it out of the park. Again. Thank you!
Diana
I'm sorry to hear your travels have left you stranded.
Wishing you a safe continuation of your journey and quickly...
Diana
Your statement that Malquerida must have worked in the mess hall because she made so much food was great. I volunteer at the Indiana Military Museum, and one of the things we have there is an army cook book. It will say stuff like 'Recipe for mashed potatoes; bring 200 pounds of potatoes to a boil. . . '
I wasn't the least bit surprised by the trial outcome either, but I suspect that somehow all of this will be reexamined at some point in the future.
David
I like Malquerida with Javier too. Those two definitely have some chemistry going, and I think a sense of humor is sexy. It was pretty funny when Malque told Javier that she had made carnitas and then he asked why she hadn't noticed that he never ate pork. After that, did Malquerida say that she would cook him an egg?
It's a given that our main couple will be together in the end, so I'm enjoying the storylines of the supporting characters, even though the Lucero and Camila storylines are pretty scary right now.
I would prefer to see Lucero be a strong, smart woman and get herself out of this horror. It's a shame she didn't play along with Diego and pretend to still be in love. Or caused some sort of commotion on the way to the cave/shed. Someone I know once found herself with an attacker in her car at the mall; she got away by jumping out of the moving car. I'm hoping Lucero gets a chance to hit Diego over the head with something, or finds a tool to take the nails out of that shed door.
She could have punched a hole in the drywall and tried to contact someone in the next apartment. I remember once renting an apartment with walls so thin that I could hear my neighbor gargling mouthwash behind the medicine cabinet. But maybe Diego picked a place next to an empty apartment. He's tricky, that one. But he didn't fool the Patio, except in the depth of his craziness.
I agree with you that it seems there should have been some vulnerable areas that Lucero could have exploited to get free.
I think a sense of humor is sexy too.
David
"Then what they say about you at school is correct?" So all the girls talked about Diego and no one wondered what happened to Lucero?
Anita, Alfonso was the name of the guy Brandon played in CI and it was an impact role. He was a wanna be artist who was murdered and Maricruz did everything she could to stay in prison, away from her daughter, even after it was proved she did NOT murder him. She was ashamed because the guy played her like a fiddle. It was one of the most boneheaded, frustrating, lame excuses ever to keep the leads apart.
Malquerida will have to greet Javier at the door naked, waving a feather duster and not sure even then he'll take the hint.
Javier wouldn't notice Malquerida naked? I don't know. Seems that he might.
Anyway, thanks for stopping by.
David
Lipstick. What does she plan to get out of this? No man seems to want her. Shes as dumb as a ragweed. I shouldn't insult the ragweed it already had a bad rep.
I hope paco don't listen to granny and tell carlos shes in pain. Looks like her hearts on the attack. Go tell daddy paco.
Mal and jay. Sounds like a sexy sitcom. It could happen.
Can't stand the smirk on louys face. Even worst on his slimkick.←and that was not a typo. :-)
Anita I hope you didn't drop your phone in your coffee at the airport. :-D
Good recap david. Don't sweat the typos. You done good.
I almost hit the floor with that one. There are no redeeming qualities to that ball of fur.
Maribel taking their stuff and trying to sell it or was she trying to give it away. You really have to be one sick bitch to steal the burners off of the stove and try to sell them. Who does that? The burners? Can I get the stove that goes with these please?
Demetria and Javier - yep, I'm liking this. She is adorable.
With the rest of you, this case was doomed from the start. How they thought they would win, especially without Andrea (who, I might add, heard it from someone else) is beyond logic? What's wrong with you Super Oh?! Who put Kryptonite in his coffee?
Anita, the perils of flight! Hopefully you made it to your destination safely (unless you are still stuck - don't remember the time as I am posting pretty late today).
Kendra, I hadn't realized Maribel stole the burners!! Good catch. I really like Jav and Dem too. She is such a power house of joy in this environment.
Thanks again, ladies.
David
Some scenes combined for convenience.
- The episode begins with a repeat of the judge declaring Luis' innocence. Luis is smug and jubilant. Carlos, not so much. First, he lunges at Luis' slimekick (tm Nina) Isabella and yells at her for lying like a rug. Then he goes for the judge, and wisely the rest of the good guys hold him back. Next, Carlos goes for Luis, but all his friends and family get him the heck out of there. Carlos is more furious than we've ever seen him. To the point I feel like it's going to lead to something in a future episode.
- Luis and his slimekicks Isy and Ishmael have a gloatfest, toasting to Luis' innocence.
- Hernan returns from his visit to identify the dead teenager, but luckily it wasn't Camila. He's still upset though, because he realizes Camila faces the same dangers on the cruel streets of the town. Amelia tries to comfort him.
- At Marissa, team good guys ponders the insanity that is declaring Luis innocent. Clarita joins in and kind of slips up, alluding to that time Luis threatened her well-being and employment. Realizing she said too much, she runs out of the room. Carlos and Fer go after her and the three talk in the kitchen. Well, Carlos is still kind of barking, but Fer softens her tone and gets Clarita to admit that Luis "killed her" - after more cajoling, Clarita clarifies that Luis worked poor Rosario into the ground and caused her heart attack. Carlos is obviously even more upset hearing this.
- At the bad guy toasting session, Luis praises slimekick Isy's lying and says she should have won an Oscar. She responds in kind of a threatening manner to this, but then reassures Luis that she learned from the best, him. I kind of enjoy the out-there bad guys on this show, to be honest. They make me giggle with their gleeful bad-guy and slimekickness.
- Meanwhile, poor Carlos visits Rosario's grave and mourns his lost "second mother." He vows to make Luis pay. Yup, this must be leading to something for ultimas semanas.
- Fer visits Amelia at night in her office to ask about Amelia's feelings towards Luis. Amelia knows he's a louse now but back then she loved him and always thought he'd return. Fer asks why she didn't go to him now since she loved him. Amelia admits she loves someone else now, and it's Pedro. They laugh about Pedro but of course we have to get in that he's a "good man." Amelia hasn't acted on her feelings because she thinks Pedro liked Marissa. Fer tells Amelia that Pedro and Marissa are just good friends and he only loves Amelia.
- Mariana visits Hernan in Camila's room to check on him. He pretends to be asleep while she thinks out loud that he's all she has and she loves him. I think she said something along the lines of she can't believe he's mad about Cami and the way she treated her. He rolls over and she takes that as her cue to leave. Hernan reminds himself of Mariana's meaner side, and outside his room, Mariana comforts herself with thoughts of her father's fortune. She decides to go to sleep with dreams of future money in her head.
- The next day, Fer and Hernan go to look for Camila in the town. No one has seen her. They really miss her.
- Lupe and Clarita are in the kitchen. Clarita got a letter from D-list character husband Carlos. Apparently it's got sexy stuff in it and she won't show Lupe. Lupe keeps nagging her to see it. This conversation is actually annoying. At the end, they both agree that they "tardo mucho" - I didn't understand that, but from context, I'm guessing they miss D-list Carlos, a character I had totally forgotten.
- This bit, oh my. Maribel is in Javier's office for therapy but he's not going to give her any. She asks why and he tells her to empty out her bag of office knickknacks she stole from him. Clearly the therapy is not taking and he wants to know what's going on, or if he should refer her to another doctor. She admits there's something hampering her but she clams up when asked what it is. He says he can't help her if she doesn't. An argument ensues Not for too long, because she suddenly spits out that she lovvvveees Javier!
- Sonrisa and Fer talk about Carlos being upset at the Luis thing. Of course Luis knew (how we don't know) Fer was at the school, and comes up on them suddenly! He demands to speak to Fer. She is not interested in what he has to say. She lectures him about working Rosario to death though.
- Javier understands where Maribel is coming from, because after all, Fer turned down his unrequited love.
- Amelia visits Lupe, tears in her formerly bitchy eyes. Apparently in one of the early episodes they were BFFs 4eva. Then of course Amelia morphed into bitchy bangs and there went the friendship. Amelia asks forgiveness for her misdeeds and mean things said to Lupe. Lupe forgives her. It's surprisingly touching, considering I didn't even know this friendship even existed in the past.
- Marissa and Paco are visiting Pedro now. Amelia comes up, apparently at Pedro's invitation.
Episode #104, part 3:
- Fer and Carlos lighten up and kid around with each other. They talk about how Pedro always loved Amelia. Fer hopes he's going for it with this invitation to Amelia. Then we get our nice besos that Fer and Carlos like to do.
- Pedro is totally going for it with Amelia. He takes her for a walk, flirts with her a little and then covers her eyes. When he uncovers them, we're looking at a new patch of land that Pedro has bought. He's very proud that he was able to buy new land with all the money he's earned. Amelia feels like he did this for someone and wonders who. Is Pedro in love? Amelia tries to play it cool but you can tell she's worried it's not her. Pedro tells her he did it for someone he loves and he's always loved and it's her. He asks Amelia to be his novia. She says yes. Smooches and hugs. Bitchy bangs is officially no more.
This was kind of an interesting episode. They're clearly setting up the last month's action and plot twists, and wrapping up details like Clarita's D-list husband whose name is obviously not Carlos (oops in the summary, sorry!) but I can't remember what it was.
I said to a friend last night, let's hope Malquerida has a tequila shot waiting for Javier when he gets home. That plot with Maribel does not work at all for me.
Lupe/Amelia - Didn't realize they were friends, but I missed some of the first few episodes. There's that forgiveness theme again.
Lupe worked at the bank and was Amelia's friend. Lupe had a good job, and thus was, in that time, better off than Amelia, but she liked and was concerned about Amelia. She helped out at the taco stand, I think without pay.
Loving how Fer consistently throws Luis' attempts at reconciliation back in his face.
I loved the scene between Pedro and Amelia. He was so proud to show her the fruits of his life's work, and she looked like she not only was stoking the embers of attraction and appreciation to him, but was actually impressed with what he had accomplished.
There has to be a special place in hell for the evil trio, Luis, Isy and Solozorno.
Thanks again, dy. Well done.
David
"Luis is smug and jubilant", "slimekick" (my fav) and "gloatfest" were among too many fabulous quotes to mention.
"Lupe/Amelia - Didn't realize they were friends". dy, I think your remark is partially true. For some unfathomable reason, Lupe reached out to Amelia, befriending her. As for her part, Amelia was tepid at best. She turned on Lupe when she told Pedro and Fernanda she never wanted to see them again. Lupe, again, was heartbroken. Also, Lupe is Clarita's husband's mother (sorry I can't remember the name either". So, for me, this was a very touching moment. Again, Amelia held back, letting time heal Lupe's wounds a bit. It was obvious she was sorry and Lupe, true to her kind heart, forgave her. Loved "Amelia visits Lupe, tears in her formerly bitchy eyes". Perfect
"Javier understands where Maribel is coming from, because after all, Fer turned down his unrequited love". I know that overall Jav appears to be moral and ethical and it's proven he has a knack for finding missing people and children. (Perhaps we should dispatch him to find Camila?). Still, something is nagging at my conscience that something is not quite right. Perhaps it's that he's rather humorless? I can't warm up to anyone without a sense of humor.
"I said to a friend last night, let's hope Malquerida has a tequila shot waiting for Javier when he gets home". Yes, that's it! Someone posted a hilarious comment yesterday that she should be waiting for him with a feather duster (tofie?)...She is the only one (except Fer) who seems to be able to make him smile.
Of course I loved the Pedro/Amelia scenes. While the idea that they have reconciled in theory is outrageous, the writers and actors made me a true believer. Bravo...
I am happy there will be justice for Rosario. But I hope it's the justice system (rather than Carlos) who metes it out.
Loved the episode. Loved the recap. Thank you dy!
Diana
Nina gets total credit for "slimekick" - I love it though and it will have a million uses in everyday life!
I give credit to Lisette Morelos - she has totally brought Bitchy Bangs around and turned her into a sympathetic character, and the plot development has been made believable.
"Luis and his slimekicks Isy and Ishmael have a gloatfest, toasting to Luis' innocence"
Yep, the bad quys are so much fun, absent Diego.
I still get tangled in Amelia's excuse/justification for not resuming a relationship with Luis. Yep, he made a feeble attempt once but otherwise it was clear he wasn't into her and really a rejection before her rejection. Had Luis ran to her with open arms she'd be bitchy bangs squared to this day.
Pedro's pitch to Amelia was uncomfortable for me. I mean, why would she move out there even in a new house when she's got a perfectly good mansion and Pedro knows his way around that garden too. I also cannot get past Pedro sleeping on the floor for 19 years, a 40 year old virgin and his first kiss and the two of them, more like siblings, becoming lovers. Weirded me out.
Like Tofie, I also have a problem with Pedro waiting around for 19 years and consigned to the floor, like the doormat he was. Maybe it would have been more realistic if he had given up and had a few girlfriends on the side over the years, while still pining for Amelia.
I am finally liking Amelia more. I think it was the scene with her consoling Hernan that pulled me in.
A few episodes ago, someone (sorry, I don't remember who) commented that redemption is a big theme of this telenovela. Now we have Lupe forgiving Amelia.
It looks like unrequited love is another leitmotif. Javier loves Fernanda, Maribel loves Javier, Amelia loved Luis, Pedro loves Amelia (not unrequited anymore), and now Luis "loves" Fernanda.
I've missed watching the last two episodes, but they've been reported so clearly and cleverly, I don't feel like I've missed a thing. Slimekick? Make that Slimestick with a furball mop on top and who do you get? Slimy sidekick ItsnotaBella. We haven't poked this much fun at any other character on this tn and enjoying it so much. Candela Marquez is bringing it honme for us, probably without realizing it.
I think Amelia's feelings for Luis began to change when she realized what a class snob he was and his attitude towards MONEY. She was embarassed to meet him again under her-then-present circumstances (in front of the courthouse at Fer's hearing). For him to treat her with such a condescending manner and not even recognizing her, was a sea-change for her. She was crushed, but she also saw another side of his personality. Then add to it, how he treated Fer, "the swindler" in court.
I was rooting for a Marissa-Pedro hook up and I truly believed that's where the writers were taking us (apparently for a ride). If Pedro and Amelia are the end game, I sincerely hope it's the Amelia who was so much fun, full of life back when she was still young at the mansion. Take away the rancor, bitterness and resentment, I'll accept it, but, like Tofie, I wonder how in the "real world" Pedro would be able to forget all their past together and embrace a new Amelia.
I'll work on a new page before tonight's episode. It should carry us through til Monday's episode.
#team good guys - I love it! I hadn't even thought of that.
Ok, I was moved by Amelia's reconciliation with Lupe. Yes, Lupe and Amelia were friends - not sure if they were besties - but Amelia confided in Lupe about everything. She was rich, she loved Luis, he got her pregnant and married someone else, she still loved Luis, she didn't want Fer (adoption and all), didn't want Pedro, the list goes on. So that reunion was(with the exception of Fer) the only thing that I believe.
I still don't like her, sorry - I just can't! However, her relationship with Fer and Lupe are believable. This awkward kiss to Pedro NOT! They don't even look comfortable with each other. He's never kissed her or anyone (romantically) in 22 years! Well really more than that because he loved her from a far when he worked at her father's home. So maybe he has never EVER kissed a woman in that way. It looked uncomfortable. I don't buy it so they need to stop trying to sell it to me. I would have bought Amelia and Iggy. I think I could have gotten behind that pairing. But this makes me cringe. The way he hugs her. Just everything is unbelievable. Not to mention the fact that she wasn't just a horrible wife and mother...she was a sadistic bitch! How does this carryover to a relationship we are expected to believe?
They really messed this one up, but I guess in a TN that I absolutely love...even amongst the ridiculous scenarios...something had to outdo the absurd and this is completely beyond absurd. However, I know some of you are fans of this pairing - I still can not. LOL!
Kendra, I can't like Amelia either, and I agree that the reconcilation doesn't ring true. I hope that, after this telenovela ends, someone will tell us how it differs from the story it was based on, La Hija del Jardinero. I don't want to know right now; I don't want any spoilers this close to the end. But I'd like to know eventually.
I really hope carlos don't do nothing stupid. His kids need him not to be in jail for killin that sack o puss. His day is on The way. And he ( louy) got the nerve to slither up to fer with demanding to talk he got some nerve. He only loves 1Person, and thats it-self.
I was watchin pedro and amelia hugging, that hug has been 20+ years comin. And it looks like it felt really good to her. Like she was thinking with a comfortable sigh "Im home". She hasn't been that happy in years. Now can yall see pussBucket makin anybody feel that good? I can't.
Hey, that should be a quote "bitchy bangs is officially no more". I like that. The actress played that part well. And so
Now what does the hairy stick in lipstick have in store for carlos and fernanda? Ok thats it for now. What a hot day this has been. Still Is. Yall stay cool people. Thanks Dy. Good recap. :-D
