Tres Veces Ana - #74 and 75 - Cheaters, zombies and murderers - Tarantino has nothing on Televisa!

Skipping over the substantial repeat we had from yesterday (Facundo planning to get his paws into Ernestina inheritance via Leonor, the confirmation of the latter’s relationship to Ernie, and Facundo’s performance at the hostel informing everyone his dear sonny will not be gracing them with his presence ever again!)

Part I

Ana Lu, who ran away in tears from this spectacle, is in her room demanding Soledad gives her an answer on why Facundo was singling her out as the one who knew all along this will end in tears for Ana Lu. Soledad doesn’t have a good answer. She responds with pointing out that Facundo is an arrogant person, who looks down on everybody and will say what he needs to. He is capable of anything to keep his son away from them. Who knows if Ana Lu is satisfied with this flimsy explanation, but she is fed a sleeping pill to help her rest and told by Sole that all things happen for a reason and all will work out fine.

Meanwhile Remedios is investing energy into trying to prove to Facundo that Santi will return to them and nobody will stop him, he knows he is loved there. Remedios may have as well been talking to the wall for all the compassion and understanding she gets out of Facundo, who vehemently disagrees – his son is remembering who he is and that he does not belong in this place. Facundo has cried plenty for his dead son and now it’s Rem’s turn for Santi is dead to her. We, for one, are finding it hard that Facundo cried over anything, much less over his son, in his life. He probably made a bad investment, lost money and locked himself up in grief over that.  Javier and Tadeo try to stick up for Remedios, who at this point is losing it, and Facundo concludes his grand speech by declaring that while he is alive, his son will not come back here and dramatically exits amid the sobs and cries.

Meanwhile at the mansion, Ana Le informs Llora that Ramiro has arrived for their date and begs her not to tell anybody that she just threw a hissy fit and tried to lock Llora up in the basement. Of course Llora quickly agrees to keep quiet, but asks Ana Le to promise she will go seek help. Why is she like this and what does she need to be happy? Our devious schemer breaks down crying – Llora will never understand her. She has a hole in her heart that no man can fill, not even Marcelo. Her deep dark secret desire is something forbidden that she will never get. Llora is scared, but Ana Le tells her not to pay attention to her mumblings. Llora should go and try to be happy for the both of them - she adds in a resigned sarcastic tone - but to be happy truly, Llora needs to overcome her own fears that are limiting her. She should be careful not to turn into an unsatisfied woman, like Ana Le. Like Llora, we are a little unnerved, but this might also be the first time Ana Le was actually sincere with her sister. Every character in this novela could use a shrink, but none so much as Ana Le. Thankfully there is probably one in the penitentiary facility she is heading to at the very end, if she makes it there that is.

Nerina is comforting Remedios, who is in a terrible state after Facundo’s visit. Remedios should remember that kids don’t stay with parents forever, says Nerina and Remedios agrees – she knew that would happen. She is very hurt though, as she put all her love into Santi and would at least expect him to come personally to talk to her about this. He didn’t even say good-bye. Rem hopes Santi knows that she will always support and love him.

Llora, freshly out of her short basement confinement and an unnerving sibling bonding session, grabs Ramiro, exchanges some sweet phrases with him and leaves for dinner. Ana Le watches them leave, muses to herself that Llora is lucky to be able to be with the man she loves and looks longingly at TioM’s photo. And the rest of us have just regretted the decision to watch this over breakfast.
Ana Le comes back up to her bedroom and slams the door shut. No reaction from the sleeping dude on the bed – we take from this lack of instincts that it’s all Santiago in there, or else not much of an investigator left in Marcelo. This makes the next scene we’ll see with them even more puzzling.

Llora and Ram arrive at his departamento. Ram has candlelit dinner prepared. He apologizes for it being so simple, but Llora is impressed (and duly so, we think, as it is yet unclear if she even knows what a stove looks like herself, being fed by Leonor’s cooking all her life). The two lovebirds talk about how scared they were and how much they love each other. There is something though that Ramiro needs to tell her, because he needs to share and knows she will understand him (this last hope of his is certainly chuckle-worthy based on his previous track record of Llora being understanding towards him). Ramiro pauses and spits it out – he killed a man.

Viridiana and Mariano are having another dinner and she shares her plans on the upcoming fashion show that will benefit Ernie’s foundation. Will Mariano give her the pleasure of his company? But of course, our blue-eyed stud is all over this invitation. He knows it’s an important night for her and will attend for sure. He also tells her that he hopes this is the beginning of many things that they will share together. They raise a glass to that. Then, in a much less smoothly executed maneuver, he tries to hint at his growing feelings, and you know – neither of them is twenty any more – so they should just….Viridiana is quick to say it’s a no-go, she appreciates their friendship and does not want to lose that if things don’t work out. Plus it’s still too early for him to think about dating – he is still recovering from losing Jennifer and at the current stage in her life, last thing she needs is love. Mariano seems to be taking it in stride – no harm, no foul. They raise their glasses again to being such mature adults.

Back at Ramiro’s it might actually snow, because Llora surprisingly understands him. She does, though, think that people shouldn’t be taking justice in their own hands, but she realizes Ramiro was defending himself and Marcelo. Ramiro jumps right on it, and no doubt in an excited agitation of finally getting some understanding from her, develops this further – not only was he defending Marcelo, but he was defending Llora herself and their love! We are left to believe Llora’s heart melts in light of every girl’s dream of having her boyfriend kill a criminal in the name of their love. For Llora, Ramiro would do anything he says – and he is also hoping to get some loving that very night, wink-wink.  Llora shyly smiles.

Seems like while the big kids are dining and wining and playing, it’s lights out for those who have school tomorrow. Ana Lu wakes up and tip-toes out of the room into the kitchen, where Nerina is making some tea. Nerina is surprised to see Ana Lu there and is especially chatty. (She must be a night person.) Nerina shares that all these events of the last few days got her out of her lonely existence and reminded her of something she forgot about – to live! Ana Lu is sad and says – on the contrary – these events broke her heart and she is not the same any more. Nerina tells her that, in fact, it was Ana Lu that made her open up. Nerina let her tragedy destroy her and Ana Lu shouldn’t let the same happen to her. Indeed, Ana Lu agrees and says that she won’t give up on Santi without a fight. She is capable of anything for him and no woman – not even a wife – can win against her. We wish she remembered it takes two to tango, but have a feeling she will soon be reminded of it.

In another house in the middle of the night, Ana Le is having a nightmare. She steps into what appears to be a very tackily decorated morgue and is very excited to be there, as she is looking for the body of her sister Ana Lucia. She reenacts a scene from the Red Riding Hood: “Where aaaare you, Ana Lucia?”. Instead she is horrified to find her father’s and mother’s body under the first couple of sheets. Next one is Gina, followed by Daniel. Where is that Ana Lucia though? Ana Le is annoyed her nightmare adventure is not meeting with any success. Finally she sees the last body and excitedly pulls the sheet off – no, it’s Jennifer. Where is Ana Lucia? Why isn’t she here? Suddenly her imagination’s version of Ana Lu barges in and declares she is not there because she isn’t dead. She is coming back and when that happens, Ana Le will disappear.

Ana Le wakes up in cold sweat and to another eerie surprise of Marcelo standing right next to her bed, staring at her. He asks if she had had another one of her nightmares. If she did, that shouldn’t surprise her – a snake like her cannot have a clean conscience. Ana Le is scared and doesn’t understand what he means. He explains she is in front of her husband, the one who once told her that he doesn’t forgive betrayals. He proves it by giving her a couple of clues that his memory is in working order.  Ana Le is still unsure what he wants, so she is careful – as is he, and they play a very well-choreographed dance. Some things you don’t forget – says Marcelo – like deceit and betrayal and she betrayed him in the worst way. Now he needs to decide between two things. What things, asks shaking Ana Le. He grabs her by the neck and says he could kill her right now. Don’t you understand, my love, you committed the worst mistake of your life – brought your worst enemy to your house and to your bed.

Ana Le, scared, gets out of bed, still wearing her dominatrix outfit by the way. (Interesting – does she ever sleep in anything comfortable?) Marcelo catches up with her. Even though she betrayed him, he says, he still loves her and hates himself for that. So his two options are to kill her or to have another roll in the hay. Three guesses which he goes for within two seconds of finishing this monologue (hint: it is not the murder). We helpfully would like to point out that those two options are not mutually exclusive.

Llora and Ramiro are having some drinks, while he is still angling for an amorous end to their night. Just as he is about to close the deal, a doorbell rings. Talk about a wrench in the plans. It is Edmundo. Ramiro really doesn’t want to answer, as Llora is already horrified someone will see her chaste self in a man’s apartment shortly after dinner – her reputation will be spoiled and she will need to be sent to Europe in haste, just some of the outcomes no doubt going through her terrified mind. Edmundo is not going away and really wants to be let in. Finally Ramiro opens the door and turns out Edmundo is there because he was very worried for Ramiro (He says that with a straight face too!). He notices Llora, and after checking in with Ms. Emily Post, also informs them that it is surprising to see a young lady here at this time. Ramiro responds with a story of how they just finished dinner and he was about to take her home. Anyhow, Edmundo is here to beg Ramiro for another opportunity, as he wants to make amends.

Part II

Santi wakes up with Ana Le in his arms and is super confused. His confusion is magnified after studying some back scratches in the mirror.  What did he do? Well, as it happens Ana Le has some kind words to say about his performance last night. It wasn’t him, claims Santi, but Ana Le is trying to jolt his memory and says that he alone makes her forget everything that is torturing her. He, in turn, is tortured by memories she is invoking in him. Ana Le realizes she is not getting anywhere, so she says she is off to work, but will be back soon. Santi warns her that he is planning an outing as well. Ana Le wants him to stay home. He is not a prisoner, he says. Ana Le can live with that, but says that he better not be going to see that woman. She leaves the room to take a shower and Santi asks Ana Lu for forgiveness out loud. He then looks up at the mirror and sees Marcelo smirking at him. Santi says Marcelo is not going to win. (At this rate, I just really wish one of them won already. At least that way we can commit to the level of irritation with this character – mild or extreme).

Sole and Ana Lu chat before Ana Lu heads out to the Danzaire practice to ask Anibal for her job back. Sole is trying to cheer her up, it doesn’t work. Ana Lu will never forget Santiago and doesn’t understand why he did what he did. Sole thinks it doesn’t matter – he decided for his wife and is in her arms now and probably sleeping with her. Ana Lu doesn’t want to hear that and is off. Before going to the practice though, she and Maribel stop by the real estate agency. Ana Lu needs to see her one and true friend Inaki, who will tell her what he knows about Santi situation. Maribel wants to know what she would do, if given the address of Santi’s wife. Well, our brave dancer thinks Santi owes her and explanation and it’s time to face the wife as well.

As they approach the building and see Inaki arrive, they are stopped by the guard who wants some ID. Inaki sees the two guests, as well as Ana Le driving in to work. He leaps to shield Ana Lu and Maribel from Ana Le’s view and makes up an emergency requiring him and Ana Le to go see the client right away. As they drive away, Ana Lu and Maribel, still detained by the guard, are upset to miss him. (The writers are probably somewhere playing a drinking game any time there is a near miss – else I can’t explain the sheer number of them in this plot). Later Inaki – a forward thinker – approaches the security guy to tell him of the terrible character of the boss’s niece and to warn him to stay away from her, thus ensuring the triplets reveal does not come from a new-to-the-plot security guy.

Santi, in the meantime, is meeting Rem in the park. This scene took up the majority of the episode and the gist was this: Santi loves Rem and will always remember her and try to see her when he can. He is not coming back to the pension though and decided to stay with his wife for six months and give their marriage another try. He loves Ana Lu, but he saw how desperate and in love with him Ana Le was and he owes this to Ana Le, as well as to himself, because he also loves his wife. He loves them both, woe is him. Rem points out Ana Lu does not deserve that, Santi knows, but he promised his wife he won’t see Ana Lu and will keep the promise. Rem tells him about the failed welcome back party. He doesn’t need to be feeling worse about his decision, he is just trying to close that circle, as he doesn’t know if his destiny is next to Ana Lu or her sister. (Yes, it is all about you, Santi.) Hearing himself speak, he realizes how perverse that sounds (yet apparently - will do nothing about it, but good to see the self-awareness is there). Rem thinks whatever it is he decides, it won’t end well. Santi, no doubt feeling himself such a stud, marvels at the turns destiny takes – two sisters are in love with the same man – him - without realizing it. And what would he do if one day they find out the truth – he might lose them both. (Once again, Santi, yes – it IS all about you.)

Santi was talking for so long that the painkillers must have worn off and his wound started hurting. Rem confesses to him that she was so desperate that she almost called Ev. They discuss how Ev is a liar and not to be trusted. Santi says not to tell any of this conversation to Ana Lu – let her think the worst, as it is not fair to keep her waiting for six months. Rem is concerned for him that he will lose Ana Lu if he doesn’t tell her about the six month hiatus and to wait for him. (Nice one, Rem.) Santi is afraid they are all accomplices of a terrible lie and one day the big reveal will destroy them all. Rem, though, thinks they are protecting Ana Lu from the truth. (River of denial runs very deep it seems.)

Elsewhere Sole tried to locate Chana – unsuccessfully. Appears she left the pueblo and nobody knows where she is (probably in Bahamas now that her life mission of protecting Sole is complete, and she got her pay off). Nerina and Sole have another heart-to-heart. Nerina unsuccessfully tries to get Sole to realize she can’t escape from what she did and truth will eventually come out. She is told to mind her own business and patch things with her own kids.

Abue is visited by Miranda and they chat about Rodrigo (Abue can’t stand him), Ana Le and Marcelo (Abue is very happy for them) and match.com (Abue is very giddy about this dude she is talking to). Miranda then declares she wants to take her to the person, who can tell her a lot more about Ana Lu – is Abue ready for it? (Let’s just collectively say – what??? NOW Miranda pipes up with this piece of information?)

Tin is talking to his sister (finally!) on the phone. He needs money and she better send it to him soon now that she is back from her trip. Llora arrives and interrupts their conversation. Tin tries to butter her up and inquires about Ramiro. Llora says she knows Tin hates Ram, as he thinks Ram and Gina had an affair while Tin was still dating her. It’s not true and Llora has memories and dates to prove it – Ramiro met and first kissed Gina, as she so vividly remembers, at her birthday party 4 years ago, and Tin and Gina broke up 6 years ago.

Ram is remembering the same party and kiss while visiting Gina’s grave. Suddenly Ev appears from behind holding ashes on his grandson (whose name he still cannot remember, Anna :)) in his hands. He says Gina won’t be alone now – her brother will keep her company. Ev needs to know who killed him – Marcelo or Ramiro? Ram fakes not understanding the question – he thought the grandson came with Marcelo to help Ramiro and died in a cross fire. He offers insincere condolences to Ev, and says Ev should be proud of this hero. Ev thanks him and asks to join him in mourning and maybe offering a eulogy. Ram hesitantly accepts. (We think he should run away really fast).

Tin and Llora are still deciphering the mystery. Who was the lover if not Ram? Doesn’t really matter – he dumped Gina and she killed herself. He never loved Gina the way Tin loved her. And - Tin is sure Ram won’t love Llora as much as Tin does and Tin is worried Ram would hurt Llora. We have a tip for Tin – perhaps it’s best not to follow up the confession of undying love for one dead woman with an ‘i-love-you’ to another, but what do we know.

Ana Lu is back to Danzaire with impressive acrobatics. Maribel is happy for her for two seconds until Ana Lu gets paired up with Orlando.

At some restaurant, Ana Le meets with the same woman she paid to seduce Mariano (did we decide she is Tin’s sister? I missed if he actually named her in the episode). Turns out Ana Le also sent the woman to Viridiana’s store and is now advising her to hurry up and snatch her Tio before someone else does.

Speaking of Mariano, he comes over to see Viridiana. She feels very good about being the only woman to ever reject him, but is brought back down to earth quickly when it turns out Mariano has decided to change the tactic: he isn’t going to see her as a woman now, as – upon reflection – he cherishes their friendship as well, and Viridiana can be a sister to him he never had. She is astonished.

Mariano leaves and goes to have coffee, where he remembers being with Gina on her wedding day right before Ramiro came over to break up with her. Mariano was in the other room listening to Ram’s monologue of Gina being in prison and that he, Ramiro, loves Llora. (Wow, Tio is losing all kinds of points. Even though he knew that, he still went against Ramiro in the face of Ana Le’s lies.)

At the immobiliaria, Ana Le and Inaki have their usual dance of will she or won’t she. Ana Le brags about reconciliation with the husband. Inaki is surprised, but asks if she is happy with the decision. She is. That’s good – says Inaki – finish that circle and when it doesn’t work out, she knows where to find him. Looks like Ana Le is satisfied with this Plan B.

Another fun twisty sort of episode.

So, Ana Leticia has this emptiness inside that nothing that is not prohibited in this world can fill (not even Marcelo.) Is it her "terminal hots" for tío Mariano? Oh, no!

When "Marcelo" turned up in the bedroom there was no doubt he was every bit as "bastardly" as everyone described him. I liked when he told Ana Leticia that a snake like her could not have a "tranquil conscience".

Ha! Ramiro speaking at Evaristo's grandson's funeral because he is "part of the family."

Is the song, "Se que se puede amar" written from the point of view of Santiago/Marcelo or AnaLucia???? To me, it seems as if either Santiago/Marcelo could be singing to AnaLuisa or the other way around.

I know I can't tell from the lyrics.

Any thoughts??

Ria great job putting up a discussion page at the crack of dawn. Your dedication to recapping, along with your recaps themselves, is very much admired.

Santiago is a dog, and he is so selfish. Having a double personality doesn't give him the right to be sleeping with two sisters. This is becoming very sickening. From what I can see from the avances, it seems to me that she doesn't have any self respect. She might as well have the same sickness as her sister.

I meant Ana Lucia doesn't have self respect.

I meant Ana Lucia doesn't have any self repect.

Santiago/Marcelo is more like the unfortunate protagonist in The Three Faces of Eve... or a less extreme version of the two halves of Captain Kirk from the episode "The Enemy Within." He has two personalities that hate each other and neither wants to integrate them. What he is doing now isn't out of selfishness; he is trying to do something on his own that he needs a shrink to help him with. Santiago thinks that placating Ana MeMeMe for six months will get him off the hook no matter the consequences while Marcelo wants to get revenge for her infidelities. We all know what a recipe for mid-series disaster this is.

Ramiro is skating on thin ice in the latest encounter with Evaristo. I don't think his lie has convinced the old man although it's highly unlikely it can be proven. Evaristo was watching him with a very practiced eye.

SoleBad continues to be selfish. Maybe we shouldn't repeat ourselves on this to lessen our annoyance.

What else in Ana MeMeMe's life and thoughts is forbidden is that she wants to be an only child. I have often wondered whether identicals come to resent the attention they get purely for that and how much some may resent being clones instead of originals. We have to wonder at their original family dynamic and what about that could have brought out such hatred in her.

Loved her nightmare. Two of the dead in that morgue were her parents.

Please, it would be so nice if you guys could agree on nicknames, abbreviations, etc. for the characters. With all the different abbreviations used, it's difficult to keep up.

But everyone puts so many hours, so much love, so much dedication in recapping, one shouldn't be pickey.

Urban I like your Captain Kirk comparison. Yes, it would be forbidden for her to want to be an only child. Very interesting!

I think the original family dynamic was this:

Ana Leticia & Ana Lucia had strong characters, while Ana Laura was soft.

Ana Leticia likely tried to bully both Ana Laura & Ana Lucia but only succeeded in bullying Ana Laura; Ana Lucia would stand up to her and would defend Ana Laura against her.

Ana Lucia & Ana Laura got positive attention from their parents because of their talents while Ana Leticia had no discernable talent & got less attention.

Had Ana Lucia never been separated from her family, she and Ana Leticia would have STILL been bitter rivals because they both have the same strong personality. Ana Leticia would've tried to steal all of Ana Lucia's men. Or would've gotten upset if any man showed Ana Lucia any attention. Or if Ana Lucia looked better than her. Or if Ana Lucia did better than her in ANYTHING.

Ana Leticia's kill list, so far:

Her parents (unintentional)
Marcelo (attempted)
Jennifer
Daniel

Ana Leticia also tried to kill Gina with the overdose, even if she might not be the one who finished her off. Which is why she saw Gina in the morgue in her nightmare. I mean, I assume that the people she saw in the nightmare are the people whose deaths she feels responsible for.

This episode was extra eerie. I liked how great the acting was, and I thoroughly enjoyed her nightmare. Her dad, mom, Gina, Daniel, and then Jennifer in order of appearance. I seriously don't understand why everyone is so complacent in this episode.

I liked that AnaLu is still willing to keep her promise, except now it looks like she's trying to be a homewrecker during a marriage reconciliation attempt. I get that she can't help her feelings, but if I was deserted the only reason I'd go searching for a guy is to give him a piece of my mind. Of course the TN wouldn't evolve if she just stayed away, but I hoped Inaki or Nerina would've intervened by now. I'm very disappointed in these characters.

So Claudia is Tin's sister. He called her to put a deposit in the bank and she placed it right before her lunch w/ AnaLet. No surprise there, I forgot who alluded to her as possibly being his sis. I wonder if Nerina knows her daughter is as much a ho-ho as Gina.

I think Ev knows and is just playing w/ Ram.

I suppose in the time Funky and Son are at the mansion, they'll be there for the revealing secrets of that home. Leo's would be hanging in the balance, as well as Erni's past.

I sure hope AnaLu somehow ends up at the charity event and finally bumps into her siblings. Or that she visits Inaki's place of work one more time and see AnaLet.

I'm glad Viri is safe from Marrano....for now. She shut him down quick.

I take naps during Erni's cyberstud plot, it bores me.

I'm glad Santi understood that the stipulation of his agreement didn't exclude seeing his madrina. It's just stupid he even agreed to that stipulation at all. Is he that gullible to trust she'd just give him a divorce. And for what, so he'd end up with her sister who he'd keep in the dark. It's not hidden truths that build a solid foundation to a relationship.

I don't know the virtues of Marcelo, but his flaws include his weakness for AnaLet? C'mon, if someone wants you dead, you don't get hot & bothered for them! It made no sense that he'd still be in love w/ her after her betrayal. He can get the same model in a non-crazy version with Ana Lucia, batteries included!

Looking forward to your recap, Ria.

I was disappointed that Marcelo was weakened by AnaLet's charms. It has been three years since he's been with her, so maybe I'll give him a pass this one time. But, what's he going to do now? He says he wants revenge, but she's the prime culprit of his misfortunes and should be the prime target of his revenge.

At this point, there is no reason for Santiago to keep the secret about Ana Lucia's origins from her. He's already ripped out her heart, so why not? It would be utterly selfish of him to expect her to come back to him after he stays with his wife for six months. He needs to just accept that it's over between them, tell her so, end it, never speak to her of love again, and then break the news to her about her origins and who his wife is.

Ana Nabil

I love your remark;

He can get the same model in a non-crazy version with Ana Lucia, batteries included!

It reminds me of the blown up female dolls that some men have a fetish for.

ITA, Vivi. It's what is so frustrating at this point in the TN. Just when we were picking up speed for the ultimate reveal, we're thwarted....again.

Victoria Yea, except this one dances and brings you coffee in the morning! XD

Anon207 and Anna - Thanks for identifying the people in AnaLe's nightmare. I only recognized Gina and Daniel.

So in her subconscious, AnaLe feels guilty. Will she follow through on her promise to AnaLaura to get psych help?

Ay, Santi! Okay, you know Marcelo can take over at any time, but you're SHOCKED! that Marcelo boinked AnaLe. Yes, stay away from AnaLucia -- after you tell her the whole truth.

Glad Ramiro told AnaLaura about killing to protect himself and Santi. And good response to Ev too, telling him his grandson died as a hero trying to save him. Ev doesn't buy it of course, but still nice to see Ramiro has Ev's number after buying his BS earlier.

I'll just say I'm nodding away at so many of the comments today. Anna, your "Batteries not included"...just brilliant.

My utter disappointment in where we go forward is if we see Santi just continue to be aware that he's is blacking out during his Marcelo moments, and yet he seeks no help of the medical variety. To me, and he is aware all kinds of happenings can be taking place, it is utter stupidity to just think he can figure things out himself and not hurt anyone. Or someone tell him to do it...Ram I'm looking at you. The writer go there with him playing this juggling act it's because they want some big set up for a big mistake made that will affect the sisters. In which case, remove all throwable object from the room and steer me to a good sale on TV's.

Anna...haha. ..."He can get the same model in a non crazy version...batteries included." Good one. Plus, ANaLU has all those mad scarf flying skills.

P.s. I would enjoy seeing Orlandon't getting all tangled up in his Scarves. Followed a quick, unscheduled descent.

I was surprised that Orlando seemed so pleased that AnaLu would be his dance partner. This will only give her more opportunities to whack him in the nuts.

Uhg! say it isn't so, why oh why does AnaLu have to be teamed up with Orlandont? Javier has been on the Danzaire team since he was little kid, way more experience. I hope this doesn't mean AnaLu will be on Maribel's bad side again, she doesn't need any more people against her at this point.

this episode was very irritating to watch, I wished that Santi would have come back just before the deed with Analet. please don't let Analet get pregnant

when AnaLet was in flashback mode, she remembered waking up and touching her head as if someone had knocked her out (I guess someone did) and then finding Gina dead in the tub, who was that guy in the shadows? was that one of Evariso's now dead guys? or is that the mysterious person who is more powerful than Evaristo?

Susanlynn, I too would like to see Orlandon't getting tangled (by the neck) with those scarves

Ok, so now more people in the pension know about AnaLu; Remedios, Nerina, Orlandon't, outside of the pension people who also know About AnaLu; Ramiro, Santi and Jerk dad Facundo, Inaki, Chana, Evaristo and last nieto. Does Javier know?

is it Miranda? Ernie's friend made an appointment with her to go see someone who will help her I think it might be Chana.

oh I just want Solebad to be found out already, AnaLu please have another dream, one where you remember your sisters and parents on a good day, not just the day of the accident.

MariaK

Will a psychiatrist ever appear in this TN to put Ana Leticia and Marcelo on separate couches and help them out? Ana Let needs to be freed from her murderous jealousies and lust for her uncle; Marcelo needs a diagnosis if he is suffering from (?) 'multiple personality disorder' and if so what is the cure? Suggestion: Ana Let go to her just reward with Evaristo.
I don't think the director/writers quite know where to take Marcelo, especially in the presence of Ana Let. Lat night's episode shows I think their confusion. Santiago was missing in action while Marcelo took Ana Let to new heights on their second honeymoon only to have Santiago awaken and ask 'what did I do?' Yet this same Santiago had the convo with Remedios in the park saying that he (Marcelo and Santiago) was in love with two identical sisters. No wonder Viewerville has a headache.

Of course it isn't possible that S/M didn't really sleep with Ana Leticia? That probably would be telenovela taboo

MariaK- The guy in the bathroom with Gina in AnaLet's flashback appears to be the same guy Marcelo killed for murdering Gina. The one he believes betrayed him, and who he tearfully confessed to killing to AnaLet in her flashback.

AnaLu has had dreams about her sisters before that don't involve the accident. She spoke about them early on when the show first started. She believes she is seeing herself in triplicate in the dreams.

Recap is posted, Patio friends - thanks for your patience!

Thanks, Ria! The recap is excellent as usual.

Thanks, Ria. I am going to stop complaining about the wackyness of this TN because it's bringing fantastic snarkilicious recaps from you. Two of my faves:

We, for one, are finding it hard that Facundo cried over anything, much less over his son, in his life. He probably made a bad investment, lost money and locked himself up in grief over that.

Ana Le comes back up to her bedroom and slams the door shut. No reaction from the sleeping dude on the bed – we take from this lack of instincts that it’s all Santiago in there, or else not much of an investigator left in Marcelo.

Advice to Viridiana, go along with Marcelo's "you'll be the sister I never had" ploy. He'll fold first and be trying to get in your pants again before long. Trust me.

The Gina mystery is now adding up to me. I just couldn't see this vibora committing suicide because AnaLe told her to or Ram rejected her, and I couldn't see AnaLe killing her cause she boinked Marcelo. Everybody boinks Marcelo, but the real threat is someone he wants to get tied down with. So somebody murdered Gina. I vote Edmundo cause I can't stand him.

Excellent job, Ria. Keep the snark coming! :)

Yeah, now that we know that Mariano heard Ramiro say loud and clear that he loves Ana Laura before Gina died, it deducts even more points from him for his reaction when AnaLet lied and started all that nonsense. Especially since he was boinking the guy's fiance way back when.

Of course Valentin still has it out for Ramiro, even though he now knows Ram wasn't the mystery dude Gina dumped him for. He's nuts.

Niecie- ITA with your advice to Viridiana. This is just another ploy of Mariano to get into her pants. He's trying to use reverse psychology.

Another great recap, Ria...and I totally agree with your assessment of Santiago. "It's all about him". Totally comfortable with leaving Ana Lucia twisting in the wind, heartbroken and wondering what happened. And musing about how two sisters are BOTH in love with him. Well, how lovely.

On the other hand, I do find Marcelo quite the hottie. Ten times more interesting than Santiago, who manages to be both boring and treacherous, failing to keep promises while still being a namby-pampy. Gimme the Bad Boy every time.

And speaking of, yes Tio Mariano has obviously come up with a new ploy to seduce the feisty Vridiana. I'd be more enthused if he hadn't been shown to be such a bottom-feeder.

We've got a serious shortage of likable, admirable characters in this one. But they sure are photogenic. I had to feel a little sorry for Iñaki in this one...having that bodacious cleavage staring him in the face. No wonder he had to leave the office. Things to do, things to do!

I don't think Facundo made a bad investment because I remember Ramiro's boss, the hotel investor (can't remember his name), telling Facundo that he had made a ton of money in his investments during his hermit years. I may be wrong.
Isn't the guy that Marcelo killed the same guy that killed Gina; he didn't follow Marcelo's instructions; betrayed Marcelo's trust (remember Marcelo doesn't forgive or forget betrayal; things got out of control; and Marcelo shot him. Did I remember that correctly?

Victoria- Yes, and yes.

Everyone who knows and who has seen Ana Lucia knows about her origins except Maribel, Tadeo & Javier.

Thanks so much, Ria! A very interesting episode, this one.

I was hoping there'd be more excitement in the scene where Marcelo almost unleashed his fury on Ana Leticia. Whether he remembers it after or not it was a pretty legitimate threat. Too bad this whole split personality thing is also causing him memory loss. We could potentially see that side of Marcelo again threatening his dear wife.

I think it was best that Viridiana friend zoned Mariano because if she did start dating him she'd be dead in a day. Ana Leticia obviously doesn't want anyone near her uncle with romantic interest, especially not Viridiana.

I don't believe that Gina ever loved Valentin and I don't know why he believes she did when she up and left him after his accident. I'm afraid to predict what he still might have planned. Being in a wheelchair might not stop him from getting his revenge.

Thanks for the comments, all. I fixed all the typos in the recap too, so it should be reader-friendly too.

Anna, thanks for the recap yesterday. I was tied up and unable to comment to thank you, but read it today - it was wonderful!

Victoria, I was only being facetious about Facundo's bad investment as a reason for his lock up. I think you are exactly right and he actually sold all his properties, which were many, before he went into isolation mourning his son.

Anon207 - And we forgot Isidro - of course he can be out of the story line for good!

Jarifa, it looked like Ana Le did speak of Mariano - the ultimate man for her. I really wonder if this isn't something early therapy could have corrected, or at least kept in check. We keep coming back to the shrink necessity in this TN...

Anon 7:34 - thanks! Glad to see you commenting too, come on over more often. Not sure about the point of view for the song. In my mind it would be from either Santi or Marcelo to Ana Lucia, since he is the torn character here.

Anon 8:47 - Santi is not impressing indeed. Ana Lu, I think, is just young and this is her first love, so with all the intensity of a young person in love she wants to defend it with all she has.

Urban - Santi and his "I love them both" is the same level of annoyance for me as Soledad is for you. But we can't stop complaining about them, because it's fun in this company! :)

Hi Anon 10:00 - here is a little cheat sheet:
Ana Lucia - Ana Lu or Ana Lucky
Ana Laura - Ana Llora, or just lovingly Llora or Llorona
Ana Leticia - Ana Le or Ana Let, or Ana Mimimi (reference to it all being about her)
Santiago - Santi or SantMarc
Valentin - Tin or TinTin

I think this should be about it. The rest of them like SoleBad are pretty self explanatory, but let us know if anything is confusing!

Ana, laughing at "batteries included". Too funny.

Vivi - I was SO disappointed too in Marcelo. I was really expecting him to be mad and hate her guts. Apparently that doesn't preclude wanting to stay with her, even though she is trying to get him killed.

Daisy, I don't know either why Santi is trying to be the hero and making things worse by all the wrong turns he is taking.

MariaK - I thought about the pregnancy too! Even if Ana Le isn't pregnant yet, I bet she'll fake it when Santi or Marcelo tries to leave.

Floodgate - yes. And Viewerville is past the headache and needs a permanent numbing drip!

Niecie - Viridiana should stay away, Tio is not proving trustworthy at all. My vote is for Edmundo who murdered Gina as well. Of course they can always still pull off a "she is alive" card.

JudyB - ditto once again! Marcelo is much more attractive than the perpetually confused indecisive Santiago.

TF - I wonder if Marcelo maybe doesn't quite remember everything. Ev told him right before smacking him over the head that it was Ana Le, who ordered the murder. Maybe he was just mad about the cheating. If not, and even that she tried to kill him didn't change his mind about her....

Ria! I think you've outdone yourself with this one.

I agree, I doubt Facundo has ever shed a tear in his life that wasn't about money. As for "while he is alive, his son will not come back here," I hope that means Facundo will die soon.

AnaLet's dream/nightmare version of AnaLu was very interesting. Rather than looking like AnaLu, she looked more like a cross between AnaLaura and AnaLet - which I suppose makes sense. And she was just like AnaLet, except more blatantly evil. I kinda liked her!

As for that scene between AnaLet and Marcelo, I was very confused by his attitude. Maybe I'm too young (or sane) to understand.

"The writers are probably somewhere playing a drinking game any time there is a near miss" - I agree, and I'm going to start playing along. (I'm going to need a lot more tequila.)

Julie, from all we've seen of Facundo, he will not be missed!

I am with you - let's go shopping for tequila!

Ria--

It's very interesting that Marcelo seems to have this love-hate feeling towards Ana Leticia. I don't know if this makes sense but it's almost as if both personalities are trying to dominate but get lost somewhere in the middle. I wouldn't think that the Santiago side has any attraction to Ana Leticia but maybe he does and that's because the Marcelo side is trying to take over in the moment whenever he's around her. It also seems like Santiago is the side that forgets when he becomes Marcelo. Marcelo was the one that went and confronted Evaristo and his goons about the whereabouts of Ramiro but then he became Santiago after the whole showdown and found himself at the location where Ramiro was held.

I thought Santiago remembered things that happened in his flashbacks or transformation to Marcelo?
So why doesn't he remember his conversation with AnaLet when he said he doesn't forgive betrayal and he could kill her right then.

Santiago remembers his flashbacks. He does not remember what he does when he transforms into Marcelo. So far in his flashbacks, he has not flashed back to the murder attempt by Ev or what Ev said about AnaLet paying him to do it. Marcelo, however, does seem to know everything that Santiago is doing and experiencing. But since he is a man of action and not of words, we haven't really heard what his plan is, other than wanting revenge and wanting to get his life back from Santiago. We don't, for example, know what he thinks about or feels for Ana Lucia.

Thank You for a detailed, funny as hell recap. What a Hoot.
My big question is..If Analetme paid to have Marc killed, why the groveling and fawning over him now as though she loves and adores him. I never thought the old "If you love something set it free..." saying included killing it.

Thanks Vivi for your answer. But can you image if Santiago completely tranforms into Marcelo and forgets AnaLuisa? Terrible plot line unless the writers introduce a stud for AnaLuisa.

TF - yes, and it's almost as if Marcelo side is stronger, since Marcelo seems to the Batman and Santi is the supporting figure. Santi does keep repeating though that he loves Ana Le, so I think you are on to something and it might be Marcelo taking over a bit whose feelings he is feeling.

Virginia, Santi does remember some flashbacks like beating Daniel, but not all of them and even those came in a dream. So I suppose it's just convenient he does not have the memory of this last one, else he'd be suspicious. What I also wonder about is that Marcelo asked Ramiro to help Santi remember. I wonder if Ramiro will do anything about that.

Anon 7:46 - thanks, glad you enjoyed it! My thinking on Ana Le is that she is - on one hand - is afraid Santi will remember, "become" Marcelo and want revenge. Better to keep him close and in her bed for that matter - she knows that trick works. On the other hand she's like a child, who doesn't want the toy, but doesn't want anyone else to have it and so breaks it.

Yeah, the flashback to beating up Dan was like the only flashback Santi has had to something he did while in Marcelo-mode. He's clueless about everything else. But Santi seems very aware of what Santi is doing and planning, which is why he's so mad at him.

Geat work, Ria. My fave: Ana Le watches them leave, muses to herself that Llora is lucky to be able to be with the man she loves and looks longingly at TioM’s photo. And the rest of us have just regretted the decision to watch this over breakfast.

Getting back to my 3 faces reference, I think this battle between Santiago and Marcelo will be resolved by a third personality coming in as a voice of reason with the ultimate ending that the three personalities will merge. But where is the shrink who needs to facilitate this?

Very true, Vivi - Marcelo personality is sneaky and knows all and sees all.

Interesting, Urban - you are thinking a compromise between the two extremes to hopefully take the better parts of each personality? Like a strong decisive man without an affinity for psychopaths? I would be all for that. Let's call the shrink over from PyP - he certainly performed some miracles there!

Ooops. I meant to write Marcelo knows what Santi is doing, but you knew what I meant. :)

Anon10:00 I think I'll start putting a Name Key in my recaps below the Color Guide to help clear up who's who. I usually put their full name at the start of a paragraph & use shorthand in the rest of it. Mine are pretty straight fwd & just shortened versions of the full name, except AnaLet gets the occasional snarky caca names I give her. Erni is spelled w/ an "I" so you know I'm talking about a female (like Toni, Bobbi, Ricki, Nicki), although I do use Leo to represent a female (Leonora) and Dani to represent a male (Daniel). Hmm, I should probably adjust that. Santi is short for Santiago & Marc is short for Marcelo, unless he is Santicelo which I only use when I'm addressing both characters in a scene. Facmundo is Funky or when he pisses me off, Fackmundo. Mariano is Marrano & Orlando is Orblando. Edmundo is Dreadmundo. Valentin is Villaintin/Villantin or just Tin. Soledad is Sole or Solebad, very rarely she is a despondent Woe-lebad. Maribel is Nastibel or just Bel depending on how nice she's being. Ana Laura is Llora until she grows a bit more spine. Ana Lucia is simply AnaLu except when she's beating up Orlando as Ana Luchador. I'll try not to use too many nicknames in the future, if they're not clear enough. I hope this helps.

Ria No thanks needed, all us recappers do it for free b/c we enjoy it. I'm glad you liked it. Just caught up on yours today, excellent as usual! Thanks for the shout-out in your recap :D I forgot to shout you out for the grandthug bit, will fix that accordingly :)

Some of my favorites:

Back at Ramiro’s it might actually snow, because Llora surprisingly understands him

Llora’s heart melts in light of every girl’s dream of having her boyfriend kill a criminal

His confusion is magnified after studying some back scratches in the mirror

The writers are probably somewhere playing a drinking game any time there is a near miss

And to answer your question, she wasn't named his sister specifically but he was on that call asking for a bank deposit and then we see Claudia telling AnaLet not to worry about being late since she had to run & make a bank deposit. I wondered why this character was important & now we see the connection. Oh the tangled web they weave.

Daisy Lol @ remove all throwable objects from the room or steer me to a good sale on TVs

Susanlynn I would enjoy seeing Orlandon't getting all tangled up in his Scarves. Followed a quick, unscheduled descent. Haha ju crazy, girl

MariaK I love that you & Susanlynn call him Orlandont. Yea I'm hoping AnaLu doesn't find another enemy in Bel. And I'm also worried pregnancy is afoot for AnaLet. And sorry I wasn't clear in my recap, but yes that is the guy Marcelo had follow Gina & then shot for killing her. I made a side by side screenshot of this goon (from both epis) for my screencap but never put it up. All screenshots will be posted for that recap by tommorow.

Floodgate If not a psychiatrist, then an exorcist b/c both Marc & AnaLet seem to have many demons to iron out

Victoria Lol @ telenovela taboo

Niecie Lol @ "vibora" and "Everybody boinks Marcelo"

JudyB Your whole comment had me in stitches, from the snarky "well, how lovely" & "namby-pamby" to "Gimme the Bad Boy" who's a "bottom feeder" and pretty much the entirety of your last paragraph "things to do, things to do" lol

Ria Marcelo didn't miss it, he was still conscious before Ev sunk him. It wasn't clear until he beat up Daniel & ordered him to call Santi to remind him who his attempted assassins are.

Anon207 Ooh, add Anibal to that list too!

Julie Add me to the Tequila carpool, we might need a costco card and a needle drip at this rate

TF You might be right. The mind is divided, but the heart isn't so that might be causing his confusion.

Anon7:16 I never thought the old "If you love something set it free..." saying included killing it. Lol you & me, both

Urban I like your theory about 3 personalities merging, but I'm not sure a shrink is going to cut it. Maybe he needs another Evaristo baptism :P
