A Que No Me Dejas #13 - With Friends Like These Who Needs a Nuria or Julieta

Ines hears Gonzalo talking to Monica over the phone about her son’s disappearance. Monica tells him she tried to call Alfonso first but he didn’t answer so she called the police but she needs his help. Gonzalo tells her she’s on her way. Ines runs out of the room but isn’t able to reach Gonzalo in time. Ines recognized the voice of the woman as Monica’s (oh oh!)

Paulina and Mauricio meet Adrian at the beach. Adrian brings Mauricio a gift and then kisses Paulina and hopes she brought her bathing suit today; he couldn’t sleep last night thinking of her (hubba hubba!)

In the boat where Rene stashed himself, the fishermen find him. They think he was trying to steal the boat and want to return to shore to go to the police. Rene jumps off the boat because he’s not going back.

Gonzalo and Monica are in a fight. Gonzalo can’t believe Monica let their son run away. Monica tells him it’s not her fault and he shouldn’t blame her because she has had to educate them by herself. Gonzalo proposes they wait it out until he runs out of food, etc. but Monica wants to look for him now.

At the Fonseca household, breakfast is full of tension. Raquel makes it clear that she doesn’t want fights like the one that happened yesterday in public again, no matter what the reason. Alfonso doesn’t tell Raquel anything despite her questions and Camilo leaves the table bothered.

The fishermen are going after Rene but he’s getting tired of swimming and stops mid stroke.

Paulina and Adrian teach Mauricio how to scuba dive.

Micaela wakes up Nuria and tells her Leonel is waiting for her downstairs. She wakes up, grudgingly, and goes down. Leonel wants to invite her to breakfast but Nuria doesn’t want anything to do with him until he can help her with her degree problem. Leonel tells her (once again) that she looks prettier when she’s angry and he would like to ask her out.

Ines thinks back to when she saw Monica at the hotel. She’s freaking out and thinks that there’s something about the situation she overheard that isn’t right.

Chelo tells Micaela that she hopes that now that Nuria has a new “galan” she will leave her sister alone. Micaela tells her that it must be great, now that Paulina doesn’t have anyone.

Gonzalo and Monica go to the police station to report Rene missing. Gonzalo has other plans: he pays a detective to find the kid without filing the report. They leave but Monica is not all too happy about Gonzalo’s attitude but he leaves her with sufficient money for a taxi and walks away.

Nuria isn’t buying Leonel’s story that he loves her for her. He clearly wants her money. Leonel asks her what’s so hard to believe. Leonel is going in for the kill, he wants to show Nuria how much he loves her and she gives him permission to seduce her and they’ll see where it goes.

Paulina, Adrian and Mauricio are sunbathing when Mauricio notices Rene’s floating body in the shore. He lets Paulina and Adrian know and he dives in to save him. Adrian brings Rene to show and starts performing CPR.

Gonzalo comes home to find Ines, angry as all hell. She asks him where he went with Monica, why she called the house and why she told him to find her son. She also why did he go running immediately when she called him.

Camilo meets with a PI he hired and ask him to find out everything about Monica Greepe, especially about her love life.

Gonzalo tries to blow off Ines but she’s not budging. She wants to know why she treats him as she did. Gonzalo tells her okay and confesses the “truth”: the kid that is lost is Monica’s and Alfonso’s. They are lovers! (Well it’s always great when your best friend throws you under the bus).

Ines doesn’t believe it but Gonzalo knows how to spin a good story. Ines doesn’t understand how Gonzalo was able to hide the truth all these years, from her best friend. Gonzalo asks her to keep the secret but Ines doesn’t want to, she can’t hide this. Gonzalo orders her not to say anything. Gonzalo warns her that if she says anything to Raquel, she will have serious problems with him. Gonzalo then proposes that he will talk to Alfonso, tell him Ines knows and ask him to leave Monica.

Rene wakes up and everyone’s glad he’s okay. They say they will take him home but Rene doesn’t want to go back there. Paulina thinks his parents must be worried. Rene isn’t budging. They suggest they take him to the police then.

Monica goes to church to pray for Rene. Monica then comes home to find a note from her mother: they found Rene.

Julieta is having another freak out. She is still mad that Adrian doesn’t want to live with her, he’s probably still angry that he accused Gonzalo without proof. She hopes that the documents that she will get from the notary prove her story.

At a restaurant, Rene is eating with Paulina, Adrian and Mauricio when Elisa and Alan come. Rene explains what happened. Elisa then tells Rene that they should go home and he shouldn’t worry since she’ll protect him from her mom and dad. They say goodbye and go.

Ines can’t believe Alfonso lied in this manner. She’s extremely disappointed in him and Gonzalo. Nuria arrives at that moment and they stop their conversation, as Gonzalo doesn’t want her to hear them. Ines and Gonzalo go to say hello and they are both surprised that Nuria is with Leonel.

Rene comes home but he doesn’t want to talk to Monica, even when she promises not to scream. When the kids go off to their room, Elisa comments how this should serve as proof that he doesn’t care about her or their kids. Monica agrees and asks that she tell him that she needs to see him tomorrow.

Paulina and Adrian are saying goodbye. He has to go back to Playa Linda. They kiss as Mauricio tries to separate them (LOL!)

Rene warns Monica that he will run away again if they try to take him to Chetumal. Monica proposes a deal, she gives him time and they go visit Chetumal and he sees how he likes it beforehand. Rene agrees and Monica promises that she will talk to Gonzalo about the move, which is postponed until further notice.

The next day, Ines is setting up a doctor’s appointment for Mauricio. She wants to start the adoption process as soon as possible. Gonzalo says he will talk to Alfonso but Ines doesn’t want to, she wants him as far away from them as possible.

Paulina is looking at the wedding documents in her room when Nuria barges in. Paulina demands she knock next time. Nuria asks why she’s so jumpy but Paulina ignores her and tries to hide the documents. Nuria, however, grabs them just in time and reads them. She screams all the way down the stairs for her parents.

Elisa comes home to find Monica at the table. She asks if she would like some sweet bread but Monica isn’t hungry. Gonzalos’ attitude really hurt her so she’s going to listen to her kids. Elisa applauds her decision and tells her that she was so used to obeying Gonzalo that she didn’t see other options right in front her.

Elisa then tells her she has an idea so that Gonzalo will divorce his wife, she proposes that she take the kids for a few weeks and then demand that Gonzalo divorce his wife. That way the gossip regarding his divorce would have died down. Monica then asks about the house, it’s in her name. Elisa tells her that he told her it was like an inheritance and he has enough money to buy it, so she shouldn’t worry, it’s now hers.

Downstairs, Gonzalo and Ines go to see what the commotion is all about. Nuria shows them the documents confirming a wedding between her sister and Adrian next Saturday.

No one is all too happy as the credits start rolling….

Gracias, Alfredo, y bienvenidos.

Gonzalo is just digging himself in deeper and deeper. This is going to cost him Alfonso's friendship unless Camilo gets what he's looking for. I believe that Monica's boys are using Gonzalo's last name and that should be an obvious piece of evidence that will nail Gonzalo as the cheater. However, will Camilo tell Paulina?

Nuria just gets nastier all the time. If Paulina marries Adrian and leaves she benefits. However, what she just did could get Paulina disinherited if she doesn't cave to what we can anticipate Gonzalo's demand to be and that is likely what Nuria is counting on. But the revelation about Rene and Alan will be her comeuppance for that.

Thank you, Alfredo! Wow! Cheater, liar, traitor, totally devoid of any scruples . . .the way Gonzalo threw Alfonso under the bus, ran over him, backed up and did it again. What a piece of work!

I haven't seen the actor who plays Gonzalo a lot and I'm trying to figure out why I don't totally hate Gonzalo! What he's doing to Ines and his family is unforgivable but I don't despise the character. Maybe because I don't feel any sympathy for Monica. On te despise-o-meter, Nuria is at the top. Oh well, perhaps that's enough rancor for now. I sometimes get too tied up in these silly stories.

Thanks again,Alfredo!

Thanks so much, Alfredo!

Anyone else find it odd that Elisa had no idea who Paulina was? I find it kind of hard to believe that Elisa didn't recognize Paulina. Monica has been with Gonzalo for 10 years and he is a public figure who goes to public events and is probably photographed a lot with not only his wife but his children. Elisa wants her daughter to be the wife of Gonzalo and is thoroughly jealous of his other family and the life that they have. I would imagine she would have done some research on his wife and 2 daughters over the 10 years. He hasn't hidden the fact that he has 2 daughters and they clearly get all his attention instead of his 2 sons, her grandchildren. They also all seem to live fairly close to one another so Elisa could have easily kept tabs on Gonzalo and his 1st family had she wanted.

When Paulina/Elisa first met at the beach the first time and Paulina explained how her family was going to adopt Mauricio, I thought that Elisa would know who Paulina was and then tell Monica after about Mauricio and how clearly Gonzalo was lying to her about leaving Ines since he was now taking in a young deaf boy, rather than caring for his own 2 young sons but nope..she didn't even know who she was and Paulina said her 1st name so even if she vaguely thought she looked familiar, the name should have jogged her memory. I was surprised.

They have met twice now and had conversations each time and Elisa has no idea who she is.

Anon54321, you took those words right off my keyboard! Monica knew they had Mauricio because that's why they were in the hospital when she was in the emergency room with Alan.

Lila, Arturo Peniche (who plays Gonzalo) has historically been cast as a good guy. In face he and the actor who plays Alfonso have both played priests in the recent past. He is currently portraying a corrupt cop in Mujeres de Negro which I just saw the opening episode of. I hope we get this one soon.

I also have no sympathy for Monica. If you are going to be The Other Woman you are taking a huge risk. You don't up the ante by letting the man knock you up because you can roll snake eyes just as easily once the baby is born.

Thanks, Superalfie!

Indeed, Alfonso just learned that if you lie down with lying, dirty dogs like Gonzo, you get up with fleas. Gonzo's affair is destroying his relationship with his son, his relationship with his friend Inez, and very soon, his own marriage. I want to know what the heck Gonzo is going to say to Al to try to convince him to take the fall for him, because you know he is. Nothing in the world could convince me to do that, and nothing should be able to convince Al.

Monica gets no sympathy from me, but Alan and Renee do. They didn't choose to be born into this awful situation. Monica needs to do something to make the best of things for them. I don't get what Elisa is trying to do now. I support her desire for Monica to stop being a doormat to Gonzo, but why is she pushing for Monica to insist on the divorce? She must know, like Viewerville does, that it's not going to happen. Monica needs to make the affair and love-children public, dump Gonzo, and get what she's owed for child support. Now that she has that house in her name in another town, it would be best that the kids be there when she causes the scandal so that they aren't right in the eye of the storm when things blow up.

I guess Elisa never cared enough about Gonzo's other family to keep tabs on what his daughters look like.

Lila- After Nuria kidnapped and planned the orphanage dumping of Mau, and then last episode roughed up the poor child who had JUST come out of the hospital, I hate her a thousand times more than I hate Gonzo. Had she just stuck to making Pau's life hell, I wouldn't feel nearly so passionate about my hate for her. But seeing her cause Mau physical and emotional pain-- yep! I'm out for her blood. Her anvil can't be heavy enough for me.

Vivi, I'm with you on this. Nuria is a total sociopath and far worse than her father. Since he doesn't seem to have mistreated her is she just a Bad Seed?

Alfredo, thanks for a very informative and descriptive recap. Since I am not a regular viewer of this novela, I enjoy being able to keep up with what's going on when I do check in.
Helen

Urban, so that's it! Arturo Peniche, perinnial good guy just oozes it out of his pores. I think he also got to me with his fiercly passionate defense of little Mau.

Vivi, you said it, sister: " But seeing her cause Mau physical and emotional pain-- yep! I'm out for her blood. Her anvil can't be heavy enough for me." I couldn't believe how she flung him on the bed and then pushed his head! Oh yes, this satanic broad has GOT to pay!

Hi Alfredo, nice to meet you Im Nina! Thanks
For the recap. This tn is moving right along. I hate the way monica is being treated. Tho she brought it on herself. I don't get people wanting other peoples spouses. Its a big fat headache.
And then she added kids in the mix, double
Headache. And the kids are hurt. Stupid adults. Ok on to yhe nrxt episode. Thanks
Alfredo.

Is anyone else thinking that Paulina should give up on Adrian and stick with Camilo? Adrian's stupid macho jealousy is tiresome. She made it clear that Camilo is a friend and he's HELPING THEM, and Adrian is still a stupid jerk about it. Paulina will probably get a job and be around other men and maybe even be friendly with them. Then what?

Team Camilo!

Kelly

I have a better idea: Find a new man altogether and don't bother looking for the parents' approval.

Camilo is history and Adrian has too much baggage (Julieta).

Thank you for this great recap!

I'm not a fan of Adrian, I personally think he's a dud who is not worth all the pain and heartache Pau is going through. His jealousy and whining turn me off. He's no Max of YNCELH, now that's a man who fought for his woman. Pau is the one being put through the ringer and sacrificing for a guy who really isn't doing much.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by and/or left a comment.

It's horrible Gonzalo would treat the male children he loves so much and want to inherit his property like this, especially Rene. I had a soft spot for him because of Mauricio but he treats the rest of his kids like they're property and need to do what they want him to do (though Nuria does need a lot of guidance). I can't help but think he'll treat Mauricio the same way as he grows older. Plus, he threw Alfosno under the bus.

Funny enough, since Camilo is investing on his own, and Gonzalo is none the wiser, I'm hoping he finds out the truth under all the piles of lies.

Adrian needs to grow up. If he wants to be in a mature relationship, married and happy, he's' going to have to learn to trust Paulina.

Max from YNCELH was one in a million. It sucks MD never saw it or only saw it when he was dying. I always wished she trusted him more than she did, especially regarding her baby but oh well.

Now Max was a beautiful man. That guy that
Will be playin the lead galan in the up coming
Tn on the 25th of october, he was max in that
One you mentioned superalfie, YNCELH. Hes
Very good at playin a sweet guy. Now this
Camillo guy may have given adrian cause for
Being jealous, didn't nuria bring him there to
Brake up paulina and Adrian? If he's not tryin
To come between them he should tell them both he'll help them til he wont have to anymore.
That could ward off some of this jealousy
Adrian is fightin with. But you know what, there are so many lies & deception in these
Folks lives, distrust, let the chips or daggers
Fall where they may.
