Sueno de amor, #123 (Mexico #128), Thursday RIP Tracy. RIP PatoLuca's honeymoon. RIP Esperanza's cookies.

I am going to keep the recap very short, because I have run out of patience with this telenovela. Luckily, this is my last episode to retell, so thanks God this is FINALLY over.

Here goes...

At the hospital, Esperanza offers to stay with Ricardo, as he waits to talk to Tracy (who's not dead, yet). Cristina takes Selena and Rodrigo home. They are heartbroken over their mom’s possible death, especially Rodrigo, but Cristina has the right words to calm him a bit. He wishes she were his mom. Point for Cristina, I guess.

Viviana and Adrian are worried because Ernesto won’t agree to the transplant. Vivi wants to divorce Mario. Luca screams at Mario for the way he's treating his mother.

PatoLuca play house. Pato is a good cook, but her food kind of makes her nauseous (Oh, boy, already?).

Regino tries to kill Tracy, but he can’t do it because she's with Ricardo and he’s discovered by the doctor outside her room.

Ric and Tracy talk about Ernesto. He has her taped as she explains her many entanglements with her once partner in crime. She has it all on tape, too, saved away on a cloud and she gives Ric the means to find everything. And then she dies.

Esperanza and Cristina keep acting like two ridiculous dogs in heat, chasing after the same bone.

Felix adopted a baby without Margarita knowing. She’s worried that she won’t be able to handle a kid at her age, but Felix is very happy. He’s sure that she’ll immediately fall in love with him, but she wants to break up.

Pato talks to Ernesto about the operation. She plays the « you abandoned me once » card, calls him an ungrateful whine. He won't listen to her, she wonders what’s wrong with him, then she has a fainting spell…

Ricardo tells the kids that mom died. It’s worthy to mention that Cristina is with them through all these difficult moments. The writing is on the wall with this one.

The next day Ric goes to scream at the police, because they won’t investigate any of the leads he gave them. So he calls Baxter, of course, asking him to fix everything, like always.

Pedro wants to work for Luca, because he wants to move in with Anya. Yey, two kids out of the house before either turned 20 (or finished school) – Esperanza will be thrilled.
For now he and Anya decide to live in her tiny room.

Pato is afraid that she’s pregnant, just like her mother predicted when she opposed the marriage. But how could that be, since they were always careful?
After taking several tests she gives Luca the happy news. She’s afraid that her mom is going to kill her. I'm more concerned about Luca having a heart attack before they actually confirm the pregnancy with a doctor.

Erasmo and Ana are getting married this weekend (!!!) and Salma, Adrian and Kiko promise to help with everything.

Ric and Cristina talk about Ernesto's sudden change. He thinks that he's on the verge of doing something very dangerous. Esperanza comes over with another tray of cookies for Ric. Cristina gets fed up with the whole situation. Not enough to run for her life, but enough to throw away perfectly good cookies. This earns her a slap from Esperanza.
And Ric thought he had it bad with Tracy. That one was a princess compared to these two crazies.

Stay tuned, people, only three more to go.

A huge thank you to my fellow recappers and to our faithful commenters for sticking around for such a depressing story. I got into this to drool over Cristian de la Fuente's biceps, but I somehow ended up almost unable to look at him, so...I'm just very glad this will soon be over.

More later, I really need to get some sleep now (1am in my part of the world).

Thank you, Adriana. The recap was great. You got all of the important stuff in. Believe me I understand your feeling toward this novela. It was great working with you this time around. Maybe we will recap together on the same team again some time!

Wow! They really faked us out with Tracy's death but she finally did die. So her parents were still alive?

I was glad that Luca did not put up with Mario's overwrought state. Maybe he needs help because he is so beyond the pale in his frequent and extreme outbursts. So glad Viviana can divorce him quickly.

Doesn't anybody ever think of birth control in these novelas? Looks like neither Pato or Luca was thinking much of anything. Duh! So why was Pato surprised?

Jumex got their commercial in after the goofy missing socks story.

So what is Félix going to bring home as a "baby"? A puppy or maybe one of those life like baby dolls? It is hard for me to believe it is a real baby.

Sure was nice for Pedro to be able to get a scholarship deal with pay at the "family" firm.

It was a real "Witcherama" with Cristina and Esperanza and it is all Ricardo's fault. Cristina warned him it was going to get ugly and it has.

Before the end we have at least one wedding for Kiko to dance at with Erasmo and Anastasia tying the knot in a few days.

I have a feeling that Ricardo will easily follow Ernesto's trail.

The real question is: what is Ernesto's plan that he is more than ready to move up?

Back in PEAM, I remember liking the little musical number Erik Elías did for Pattymelt, almost at the end. This time I liked the throwing of the cookies. Not the slap because it looked fake, but I am so tired of Esperanza's shenanigans that she deserves that and way more. If she is seeing that Ricardo's scale is leaning towards Crristina's side, why not leave them alone so the "big decision" that lowers them both take a more natural course?

She is, as Nandicta put it, a rogona and arrastrada, no self esteem, no dignity, no stomach!

Pablo, you never miss a chance to use the "no stomach" descriptor. Ha!Ha!

Adriana Noel, thank you for the fabulous recap. I have so enjoyed reading your recaps and savoring the juicy (and not so juicy) tidbits.

Esperanza and Cristina keep acting like two ridiculous dogs in heat, chasing after the same bone was my absolute hands down favorite.

So, Tracy told all before she passed...this fairly much seals Ernesto's fate. I loathe the fact all 4 of his children will no longer have a father. Of course, I'm bothered by the fact he isn't thinking of them at all which is contrary to his character lo these many months. He was always a devoted father (despite some rocky times early on with Adrian). To not consider them now, is uncharacteristic and a blunder by the writers here. I know what you are thinking! A blunder, by the writers? Amazing ;)

Jarifa, I am glad Luca told Mario off. I saw the post wedding episode earlier today and he is totally out of control.

I guess I was wrong in thinking Kristel would show up again. Well, she might but it certainly doesn't seem like there will be any twist.

So, I gather I am alone at Esperanza's table. Someone?? Anyone??

I think Esperanza has suffered enough. I don't want her to lose Ricardo's love. It hurts me to write that but that is what she wants...The woman gets cancer, goes through excruciating treatment, has no stomach (credit Pablo) and she gets dumped for someone Ricardo met a mere few months ago?

Glad Erasmo and Anastasia are getting married. She is turning out to be one of my favorites.

Well, I guess it ain't over til it's over. I have a feeling I'm not going to be happy with anything in the finale. But, I'm always wrong so....

Thank you again Adriana Noel!

Diana

Adriana, thanks for the recap. I feel your annoyance with this situation. Now: pato is preggo. Knowin how momma felt SHE should
Have made sure they had protection. That man had one thought on his mind. She will
Learn that as time goes by.

Erny will quit possibly die alone. At least tracy had her family around her, and they did't like her.

Mario is a king sized jackass. silvana dodged
A bullet. She got prison, vivana got stuck with him.

Espranza enough with the cookies, we know
You can bake. ChristyV already gave ricky the other batch. Did ricky ask christy was she alright after the slap? And she said yeah?
Cuz, WOW!!! A 3 day war is comin. Maybe.

Thanks Adriana. Now get some gooood sleep. :-)

Many thanks for this excellent recap and for all the ones you contributed over the run of this trainwreck. You embellished the terminally-ugly and gave coherence to the utterly-illogical! Thank you bunches, Adriana! :)

"Oh, boy, already?" Hahaha! So 18-year old child bride and D-student, Pato Guerrero, doesn't go on her honeymoon but she doesn't go to school either, and now she's preggo, to boot? This is so lamesville! And to think her mom harped on and on about the importance of waiting before getting married, finishing highschool, pursuing a university degree, starting a career, THEN getting hitched and thinking about having a baby. Pato promised to do all those things and now she is pregnant and slaving away in the kitchen. All that's missing is the barefoot part!

Jarifa, thank you for mentioning those extra details. That filler scene with Tricky Ricky talking to Kracy's parents on the phone was so absurd! Where did these people come from and where were they when their evil spawn was running amok, kidnapping, killing and torturing folks willy-nilly? Where were they when she landed in jail or when she was interned into a psychiatric clinic on Ric's own dime? Didn't Saint Ricardolt take it upon himself to look after her because she has nobody? *self-administered thump on the head* Aaaah! All better! No more questions, your honor!

And now that juice commercial. Gracias Jumex! Oh. My. God.

Pablo, "no self esteem, no dignity, no stomach!" This made me laugh out loud but I laughed louder when the confrontation between the rogonas got physical! I yelped: "Pablo got his slap! Pablo got his slap!" :D A few episodes ago, you said you wanted to see these distinguished dames slapping each other. Well, you got it, amigow!

P.S. That song-and-dance number you mentioned (and the performances of Erick Elías and the actress playing Patricia) were the only salvageable things from that show, along with Colunga's expressions everytime the Osorio Kid showcased his "talents" (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V_FGRwoZyp0)

Diana, "I think Esperanza has suffered enough. I don't want her to lose Ricardo's love." You can't lose something you never had. Ricardo doesn't love Esperanza. He doesn't love CVV either. Ricardo loves Ricardo.

As for the humongous blunder to turn Ernesto evil again, just for sport, it makes even less sense considering how close he is to dying and how much he loves his children and Esperanza. Why would he so nonchalantly toss aside his health, his children, the woman he loves and the new lease on life a new kidney would give him, just to make Ricardo suffer? Oh, I know, because some deity died and made Ricardolt King of The Universe, that's why!

Nina, "Mario is a king sized jackass. silvana dodged a bullet. She got prison, vivana got stuck with him." LOL! I think we are finally getting to discover that unbearable side of Mario that made Silvana turn so bitter and hateful! The pieces of that puzzle have finally fallen into place! :)

I used to want E&R now I just want both women to move on. I do concede that it will end up C&R at the end. There are too many scenes with her and the kids. This novela started off promising but went south. Hopefully Espy will get her Sueno De Amor in the end, some new character as it won't be Ricky

Cookie, I was thinking...

Do we know who Pablo's father is/was? I'm now wondering if someone will swoop in and carry Esperanza away.

I firmly believe that not everyone meets their match and as strong individuals, parings are not always necessary.

However, in this instance, Esperanza deserves much more than being dumped by someone Ric has known for a NY minute. Sorry, nothing against Cris but this just seems so unfair. But then again, what has been fair in this unruly mess?

I'm annoyed with myself that I still very much want to see how this ends...

I guess the writers haven't done every single thing wrong, have they? :)

Diana

Cookie, I feel the same. However, this producer has routinely shown misogynistic tendencies in his novelas, so what you are suggesting is virtually impossible! The female protagonists ditching the self-absorbed, self-aggrandizing, unreliable, undecided galán? In an Osorio novela? That is maaadness! Maaadness, I tell ya! :D

Diana, "Esperanza deserves much more than being dumped by someone Ric has known for a NY minute. Sorry, nothing against Cris but this just seems so unfair." Of all the aggravating things that made me dislike Ricardo immensely, this one takes the cake! He'd been telling anyone who would listen that Esperanza was his one-true-love for over 20 years (never mind the 2-decade-long mysterious absence) then the dude forgets her the minute a pretty blonde gives him the time of day. Not only that, but when he learns that she has cancer, it doesn't seem to affect him beyond the pressing need to demonstrate that he wasn't dumped, that Esperanza didn't leave him because of anything wrong with him. Even on her deathbead, he refused to forgive her and continued making reproaches and going Me, me, me! to a dying woman! Anyone of these elements should've been a huuuuuuge red flag and a deal-breaker for CVV. If a woman ignores stuff like this and shacks up with a man as fickle, unreliable and egotistical as Ric, then she can bet her sweet patootie she'll be next in line to get treated like the ex. That's what makes me mad at CVV. She's a smart, beautiful, responsible woman who has set herself (and her daughter) up for heartbreak. It seems that the source of hesitation for Ric is that he still kinda likes Esperanza but she is an older, stomachless, bald woman who can no longer give him kids because of the chemo. Tricky Ricky has said on many an occasion that he wants another heir to perpetuate his impeccable genetic line. Esperanza can't give him that and, although his kids like her, they seem to prefer CVV because of Abril. This is a picture-perfect recomposed family.

"It seems that the source of hesitation for Ric is that he still kinda likes Esperanza but she is an older, stomachless, bald woman who can no longer give him kids because of the chemo. Tricky Ricky has said on many an occasion that he wants another heir to perpetuate his impeccable genetic line".

I believe in love conquers all and that certainly does not apply here Nandicta. And yes, when he found out Esperanza had cancer, he should have gone running and sorted the damage to his ego and monumental conceit another time.

Diana

Thanks Adriana!!!

You know if they are going to kill off Ernesto, which obviously they are, then why not let him die with the truth of his character hidden for his children's sake? They don't need to know he is/soon to be was, a rat bastard (can I say that?) Let him die with Espe and the kids thinking well of him. Tracy didn't deserve the chance to unload her story/guilt.

I couldn't believe that while the children are crying in the background, at the hospital, that CVV and Espe were still fighting over Ric! Kids are upset because they are about to lose their mother and you guys only care about fighting over the dad!!

Pato being pregnant means she definitely can't give Ernie her kidney, even though he won't take it. Say goodbye to your dreams for awhile.

Carvivile: My thoughts on Tracy the crazy girl dying: GOODBYE FELICIA & good riddance!

Now I laughed when Cristina threw away Espi's cookies. I just couldn't control my laughter since my hatred for Espi is over 80%!

Ernesto becoming more super sinister with his revenge plots.

Why is Ricardo always calling Baxter to fix everything ? Baxter is NOT Olivia Pope, who comes in to clean up your mess!

Steve, since I haven't been watching the show very long I can't really comment on Espe but I have like what I have seen. An actress can only do so much with the material given her.

I was starting to wonder if Tracy was turning into a "Camille".

Ric has so many problems in his life he should go back to the FBI/CIA whatever he was with. IDK but Baxter is definitely Ric's Olivia Pope.
