SILVANA SIN LANA (Cap. 51) - JUEVES - Parte 1 de 3

The episode opens with Andrés' mother, Laura, again asking Majo in a rather unfriendly tone, "Why are you playing with my son's feelings?" Majo says that she cares for Andrés and would never play with his feelings, she just needs more time. Laura seems to be speaking not just of this turn of events but also of others over the past three years when she says to Majo, "You think everything will be solved in time. You have to make decisions. You can't just wait to see what happens."

The scene shifts to Chivis' house. Chivis is in a snit about Manuel's having very suggestive photos of Cata on his phone, and about calling him and making inappropriate suggestions. Manuel says he's delighted that Chivis is jealous. Chivis of course denies being jealous, claiming that she's just annoyed. Manuel assures her that he has eyes only for her, and the two of them are soon reconciled.

Lucha comes to see Vicente in the room he shares with his brothers. He tells her that he's looking into university programs that may interest him. Lucha is very happy that he's moving ahead with his life. She asks whether he'll be able to work and study at the same time. He tells her he did so when he went to work after their mother died. She advises him to forget about Majo, but he replies, "Don't ask me to forget about Maria José. Since I met her, my life changed forever, and that's that! (¡Ya está!)

Majo, very upset about Andrés wanting to get married very soon and his mother's harsh words to her, calls Angie. Angie tells her about the embargo and says Majo should come home and help their mother. They can talk about Majo's problems tomorrow.

Having turned his bedroom over to Trini, Don Benito is sound asleep on his couch, snoring loudly. Trini comes downstairs and is about to get a glass of water when she hears DB say "Trini querida." She stops and listens. He continues to snore, and between snores, he asks her to marry him and make him the happiest man in the world. Trini goes over to the couch and tries to wake DB, but he continues to sleep and pulls a blanket over his head.

The next morning, Trini comes downstairs and finds an enormous array of breakfast foods set out on the table, along with several vases with flowers. Don Benito tells her that he did what was necessary to win her heart. She tells him that last night she came downstairs and heard him talking in his sleep. He says he was dreaming. She asks whether he remembers the dream. He thinks for a while and then says, "I remember...I was at an altar...and I saw a woman in white...like a novia....and then suddenly I burned the croissants."

That same morning at Chivis' house, Angie is not happy about having to go to Manuel's house to have breakfast. She'd have preferred to be able to eat at home (probably because she doesn't want to see Jorge). Chivis makes it clear that she doesn't want to lose all the kitchen equipment that would be taken because of the embargo: the oven, the microwave, the toaster, etc. All these cost money that they can't afford to lose.

At Stella's, the Three Stooges are talking about Stella's experience at Steve's the previous night. Rather than appreciating Poncho's efforts to save her from a raving maniac, Stella is annoyed at him for spraying Steve with the fire extinguisher. But Poncho also receives some good news. Dominique tells him that Jenifer called to say that she had a tubal pregnancy where the egg doesn't develop and so there's no baby. Poncho dances ecstatically around the room.

Chivis, Angie, and Lupita have breakfast at Manuel's. Chivis thanks everyone for their hospitality and help. The kids seem to get along well, though Vicente chooses not to join them. Lucha recognizes that he's missing Majo. After breakfast, Pedrito is washing dishes and Lupita is drying them. He asks whether she's sure her father will come to her first communion. She tells him that she's been praying a lot to the Virgencita de Guadalupe. He asks, "If he doesn't come, will you be angry at her?" "No, not at all," she replies. "God knows why things happen." Pedrito comments that religion is very strange.

A short time later, Chivis and Manuel are outside. Chivis thanks Manuel for everything he has done for her. He tells her that she's the one who deserves thanks: "You've brought happiness and harmony into my life. This is the first time I've felt this in ages." The two of them are clearly enjoying each other. And, of course, watching them from a car across the street is Antonio José. When Manuel drives off to work, AJ follows him to the fish market, gets out of the car, and goes into the terminal to try to find him.

Vicente is sitting in Manuel's office getting more information about university programs. On the phone, he asks about whether they have night classes, and what the enrollment procedures are. He's very pleased with what he hears. Suddenly the door opens and in walks Cata. When she tells him she's looking for Manuel, he explains that he's Manuel's eldest son. She makes flirtatious remarks about how goodlooking Vicente is, and then she starts asking questions about Manuel. Why is your father alone? Why doesn't he want to marry again? Vicente is momentarily taken aback, but then he replies, "We didn't want a stepmother after we saw Cinderella as kids."

Soon, Manuel comes into the office. Cata immediately accuses him of being an ingrate because he didn't respond to a single one of her messages. Manuel responds to her as "Señora Catalina," and she complains that he's always so formal and refuses to use "tu." Vicente says he has to leave. Manuel sends some looks his way that seemed to be asking him to stay. Catalina notices this, too, and laughingly tells Vicente, "Your father is afraid to be alone with me." Vicente leaves, nonetheless. After Manuel is alone with Catalina, he asks her to stop sending him photos. She doesn't believe he doesn't like them. Soon, she's pawing at him and not letting him escape. "Don't tell me you don't like this. I don't believe you," she says. She then locks the door and closes the window blinds.

Meanwhile, AJ is looking for Manuel inside the terminal. He doesn't have much luck. First, he puts his hand down on what turns out to be the inside of a dead fish. He quickly removes his hand in disgust. He then accidentally bumps into Dominique and calls him uncivilized, which of course sets Dominique off on his own tirade. Then two policemen come into the terminal, perhaps looking for AJ. Since they are the usual inept telenovela police, AJ succeeds in hiding from them. When Dominique sees him again, AJ has disguised his appearance, but Dominique is suspicious that perhaps he's an industrial spy. He asks him questions about the fish trade and is then sure he's a spy. Dom screams aloud that he's a spy, but AJ again manages to elude him. AJ tries to peer into Manuel's office, but since Cata has closed the blinds, he sees nothing.

Mauro and Lucha are walking together at the university. She kisses him, and of course Andrés is nearby and sees her do so. She goes off, and Andrés asks to speak with Mauro. Andrés tells Mauro that Lucha is a very special woman, and he should take good care of her. Mauro isn't pleased with what he considers Andrés' meddling in his private life. He tells Andrés, "if you used to like Lucha, forget it, and pay attention to your novia."

Cata continues to come on strong to Manuel, grabbing him and attempting to hug and kiss him. He's apparently too much of a gentleman to haul off and sock her. Stella, however, has no such restraints. Somehow, she opens the door I thought I saw Cata lock, barges into the office, grabs Cata by the hair and pulls her away from Manuel. Cata is horrified by this naca asquerosa (disgusting lower-class woman). She tells Manuel that the next time, he should come to her house, where they won't be disturbed. She leaves. Manuel thanks Stella for saving him. Stella, though, wants more than his thanks, and when she doesn't succeed, she threatens him: "What will all the employees of the fish terminal think. Their spokesman occupies his office in order to have sex with all the women who offer themselves to him" (Su representante occupa la oficina pa' revolcarse con todas las viejas que se le ofrecen).

Chivis' lascivious lawyer Rafael calls her about the embargo. She's not at all happy to hear from him. She asks whether he knows why the embargo is happening, and what has Antonio José done this time? Rafael tries to calm her down. He tells her he can help her. She tells him she doesn't want his help. She accuses him of having been Antonio José's accomplice from the start. She says he should tell AJ not to come to see her again, and that if he does come, she'll denounce him to the police. Rafael tells her not to say such foolish things: "You'll wind up losing, I'm warning you." She tells Rafael not to threaten her, and she repeats that she'll denounce AJ to the police. Of course, just as she says this, Trini walks in and overhears her. She immediately berates Chivis for what she has said.

Meanwhile, Antonio José has been trying to elude Dominique. He finds a place to hide. Dominique stops one of the workmen, describes AJ, and asks whether the workman has seen him. He tells the workman to contact him if he sees the guy, and when it becomes clear that the workman doesn't have a cell phone, Dominique tells him simply to yell "Spy" at the top of his lungs. Dominique then leaves and the workman delivers the stuff he was transporting. He doesn't see AJ, who is hiding just a few feet away. The workman leaves and locks the door. We see a sign on the outside of the door saying "Keep Freezer Door Closed." AJ is inside.

If it was a man doing what Cats is doing, we would call it attempted rape. Manuel is the one who unlocked the door, but Cata grabbed him and pressed him against the wall before he could open it. I have never been so pleased the see Stella before (and I think Manuel felt the same). Loved the she got a handful of her extensions.

Would the telenovela gods be kind enough to have AJ freeze to death? Ojala!

Go Mauro! I didn't think he had that kind of fire in him. But he was right to put Andres in his place. He's picking up on what the audience is seeing. Andres never paid Lucha any mind when he knew how she felt about him. He broke her heart and went back to MJ. Now he wants to be all in her romantic life business, and wants to be chummy and ever present. Nope. You had your chance. Quit hanging around and making it harder for Lucha to get over her heartbreak.

WHOA, that Cata is a piece of work. I agree - it was all very rape-like. If we were supposed to find that funny, I for one didn't. Maybe Cata and Rafael the sleazy lawyer should get together, it would maybe ensure the safety of others, for a while at least.
 

Silvana. Excellent recap as usual, Juanita! I wonder if we'll ever see Steve again and find out who he really is (other than an inept seducer, that is). Since this is a comedy, I presume Antonio José won't freeze to death--hope he suffers a bit though, the jerk! Btw, when will he finally be turning himself in? If he doesn't, inevitably one or more of the police looking for him may actually find him. I totally agree that Manuel is being sexually harassed by Cata and admire Mauro for standing up to the supercilious Andrés--no matter what Mauro turns out to be like later, though Andrés really deserves to end up with no one. I thought that was kind of a convenient and simplistic way to get rid of Jennifer and her pregnancy--oh well, she served her comic purpose!

Thanks so much for the generous substitute recap, Juanita. It was terrific!

I loved Angie telling Majo that all their possessions might have been lost. And telling Majo that they were dealing with this while she was off living in a mansion, risking nothing. Spoiled Majo expects her sister to run immediately to hold her hand when something doesn’t go right.

Like Manuel himself, I enjoyed the “family breakfast”. And Lucha wasn’t nasty to Chivis for once! I think what may have happened is that Lucha, an obvious rooter for underdogs, saw Chivis’ family as needy as opposed to being “fresa” for a change.

It WAS fun to see Stella rescue Manuel. I loved the extensions coming off in her hand.

I KNOW I need to fast forward Trini every time she appears, but I just don’t end up doing it. OF COURSE she overheard Chivis say she’d turn AJ in. Her judgment is so flawed it’s unbelievable. Manuel is NACA but AJ deserves protection.

Of course this is the telenovela legal system at its finest, but I wish they’d be more specific about why the embargo happened. Chivis has been saying that the “embargo” happened because AJ defrauded someone again. But it could just be that they could go after the wife’s possessions in telenovela law, just on the original Ponzi scheme, if that’s what it was.

Silvana. Novelera: I spoke to my Spanish Linguistics colleagues. They agreed that part of what makes it difficult to understand song lyrics in a foreign language is that the stress of the words can be changed by the music. One of my colleagues said that the syllables themselves of the words can be distorted, and the other said that it's also because the brain has to process so much more information--faster pace than in normal conversation, different stress on words, plus music--which can be too much to absorb at once.

I agree, if Cata the alley gata were a man and Manuel were a woman, all sorts of sexual harassment accusations and charges would be flying about. Cata nees a lobotomy.

I don't know about Droid phones, but if Manuel has an iphone, he can block Gata's texts, but he might not know that. She is just pure trash.

For once, Stella comes to the rescue (of Manuel)! The hair extension in her hand was a hoot.

The music was playful, when AJ was locked in the freezer, so it's doubtful he will suffer much. (Booo! Hissssss!)

Thanks, everyone, for your great comments. I agree that what Cata did to Manuel should be considered sexual assault. I do hope she gets what she deserves. She certainly does not deserve a man, though I confess I loved Jude Gray's suggestion of pairing Cata with Rafael, thereby keeping most other people safe for a while! Vivi, thanks for pointing out how it was that Stella was able to open what I thought was still a locked door. And I agree that both Manuel and Viewerville were never so glad to see Stella as when she came to Manuel's rescue last night.

Novelera, if I hadn't been doing a recap, I might well have fast-forwarded through the scenes with Trini. Certainly her berating Chivis was more of the same old, same old bad judgment she has shown all along. Even Majo seems to have progressed more than Trini (though not much, alas). Actually, I'm glad I didn't skip all her scenes. The one with snoring Don Benito was amusing. Though why a decent, good-hearted person like DB continues to tolerate an insensitive snob like Trini, let alone want to marry her, remains a mystery. The only bad thing I can think of concerning DB is his [expletives deleted] granddaughter. However, as a grandmother myself, I don't want grandparents to be automatically blamed for the sins of their grandchildren (then again, my grandchildren are sinless :-) ).

SpanProf, I found what you found out about processing song lyrics in a foreign language really interesting. Actually, I think some of the points your colleagues raised can be applied even to listening to lyrics in one's native language. I know at times I even find it hard to understand lyrics in English, and now I think I have more insight into why that is.

SpanProf, thanks for the information about the difficulty in understanding song lyrics in Spanish. I have also noticed another phenomenon. I hear lots and lots of Spanish at work since I work in a construction company. Outside my office there are often conversations among employees whose first language is Spanish. It's like there's a switch in my brain. If I want to know what they're saying, the switch is on. If I'm busy and not interested in what they're saying, the switch is off and the Spanish becomes background noise. With English I can't help but hear and understand what colleagues say.
 

General. Novelera: Yep, I've noticed the same thing, since I learned Spanish as a foreign language (though many years ago).

Rushing to say thank you before the next episode is broadcast. Thank you, Juanita. You nailed everything just perfectly. I'm glad Novelera expanded the Angie-Majo conversation because Majo was definitely showing her selfish side, especially at the late hour she called and wanted Angie to come to Andres' house. Even after everything was laid out for her, she did NOT volunteer to come help--exactly, whereas Mauro pestered Chivis to death offering to help.

I don't know why Manuel didn't rush around and open all the blinds as "Cata the alley gata" shut them. That would have been more entertaining than breakfast at Don Benitos (although I wish someone would fix me a big breakfast like that).
 

Silvana sin Lana – Friday, September 30 – Capítulo 52, part 1/2

AJ is still locked in the freezer and his phone doesn’t work.

Trini continues yelling at Chivis about AJ. [FF -> more of the same old Trini here.] Chivis will never forgive him for abandoning the girls.

Angie visits Majo and is a bit over her sister’s drama about marrying Andrés and being angry at Chivis. Majo still thinks everything is Chivis’ fault, but Angie repeats that it’s their father’s fault. Luckily the Gallardos are helping them again with the second embargo fiasco. Majo asks about Vicente. When he went to the university to talk to her, he was a different person. She is almost convinced that he really loves her, and then she admits that she loves him too. She thinks about him every morning and night, and constantly hopes that he’ll call or text. Angie asks her to please end it with Andrés and come back home.

But Majo can’t hurt Andrés again. Angie doesn’t think that Majo was ever really in love with Andrés, and that Majo slept with Vicente because she is in love with him. So she needs to make a decision now before it’s too late.

At the terminal, Vicente tells Dom and Poncho that he enrolled in university to study business administration. Poncho doesn’t think studying is for people like them, and seems just as concerned that Vicente won’t have time to go to the salsoteca with him at night anymore. Vicente wants to be prepared for when he inherits the business so he doesn’t screw it up.

Majo insists that she can’t leave Andrés, not after the way his parents welcomed them into their home. Angie points out that’s all the more reason for her to come home, to get distance from Andrés. Majo can’t because Chivis lied to her about being with Manuel. Angie reminds her that she lied to Andrés too. Enter Andrés who hears the last part and Angie covers, changing the subject to Chivis and how Majo should come home to talk to her. Andrés agrees.

Stella asks Vicente to talk to his father about his behavior with women in the office. Dom and Poncho are actually a tiny bit worried that people will talk badly about Manuel and he’ll be removed from his position as representante for the terminal – but that cheers Poncho up because then he’ll apply and Stella will pay more attention to him. (This scene also includes Stella’s dog, Francisco Javier, who she calls her son and who wears a bow because he’s a metrosexual. LOL)

Jennifer shows up while Poncho prays to the Virgencita. He is actually sorry that Jennifer isn’t pregnant anymore. Jennifer somehow thinks they are still a couple.

Don Jacinto, the guy who locked AJ in the freezer, opens it and AJ falls on the floor.

Poncho tries to explain to Jennifer that they are not together, and that she needs to take her kids and leave.

A paramedic checks out AJ (still back by the freezer). He’s fine. Don Jacinto mentions they should call the police, especially since there was a bandido (bandit, crook) in the terminal earlier.

Lucha is actually nice to Chivis, explaining how to use the microwave and where the pans are. Chivis thanks her, especially knowing how uncomfortable it is for her. Lucha is just happy that Majo isn’t there. Besides, her dad taught her that la solidaridad (support, solidatiry) is the most important thing and she knows that Chivis has to deal with a lot being the mother. Lucha’s mother also taught her that support should be inconditional. Before she heads off to class, she asks Chivis to save a little of what she’s cooking for her since it smells so good.

Dom talks about the fulano (guy, referring to AJ) to Stella and Poncho. Poncho thinks he’s echando mucho limón a tu ceviche (lit: putting a lot of lemon in your raw fish soup – maybe exaggerating or embellishing too much??). Dom didn’t even see him steal anything or break into any office. Don Jacinto interrupts to tell Dom about the strange guy in the freezer who gives him mala espina (a bad feeling).
 

Silvana sin Lana – Friday, September 30 – Capítulo 52, part 2/2

Chivis returns to the empty house and starts crying on the stairs. Majo comes in and asks if she can give her a hug. They forgive each other. Majo cries too, saying Chivis is the best mother in the world. She missed her so much, and even though she doesn’t like her being with Manuel, she can llegar a comprenderlo (come to understand it). She won’t abandon Chivis like her father did. However, she won’t come back to the house because she can’t be near the Gallardos. She’s going to buy some things and come back to see her sisters.

Stella has to plan to catch the fulano, but of course he’s already gone by the time they get back to the freezer. AJ manages to get out to his car and hide before the clueless cops catch him.

Benji looks for Angie at Jorge’s. She’s not there. Jorge makes it clear that he and Benji will never be friends.

Stella reads about yoga while Poncho makes fun of her and Dom complains about the food in the kitchen wondering if it’s comida para pollos o para conejos (food for chickens or rabbits).

Shivering in the bath, AJ answers a call from Rafael. AJ doesn’t believe that Chivis would denounce him. He asks Rafa what he knows about Manuel, but he doesn’t know anything.

At the bakery, Margarita asks Benji is there is anything new. He admits that he’s starting to like Angie for real and he’s not sure if he can continue with their plan. In fact, it’s better for both of them if they just drop the plan altogether. Margarita tells him to be careful; it can end up badly for both of them.

Jorge opens the door for Angie. He is happy to see her; she is slightly annoyed that he’s still being a chismoso (gossip). He tells her that her novio (boyfriend was looking for her. Angie corrects him; Benji is not her boyfriend. Jorge thinks it’s heading that way and that Benji no da puntada sin dedal (doesn’t do something for nothing). Angie is not comfortable talking to him about these things. Jorge asks one last question: te estás clavando con él (are you falling for him)? She won’t respond and calls him insoportable (unbearable) before leaving.

Angie finds Benji at the bakery and asks him just to call her when he wants to see her. When she says she’s going to leave because she doesn’t want to run into Margarita there, Juanito chimes in that she just left and that she was talking to Benji. Angie doesn’t understand how he can talk to someone so tóxica and says she’ll see him at the salsódromo. Juanito wonders if he messed up and gives advice to Benji. Yo que tu me apuro (If I were you, I’d hurry up), just in case Angie’s love for Jorge comes back now that they’re living together.

Manuel brings lunch to Chivis and notes that she seems really happy. She tells him about talking to Majo, as well as talking to Lucha. He asks about the vacuum he bought since he didn’t see it in his house. She put it in a safe place. He has a gift for her: earrings. He helps her put them on and they start kissing, just as Cata walks through the open door. She channels her inner Majo and says oh my god in English.

Thanks VERY much, J, for this wonderful recap. I think you covered everything important, and you helped me to understand some things I missed, especially the Spanish phrases you translated. ¡Muchísimas gracias!

I was surprised that Majo admitted to Angie that she's in love with Vicente and thinks about him every morning when she gets up and every night when she goes to sleep. I guess we're supposed to see this as the beginning of Majo as truthteller, a huge transformation! Even more huge a transformation was the reconciliation between Chivis and Majo. Frankly, I thought it seemed too much too soon, especially on Majo's part.
 

Silvana. Excellent recap, J! I loved the remark about Francisco Javier, the metrosexual dog. Is Poncho really sorry about the end of Jennifer's pregnancy or just trying to be kind and sympathetic? Angie is so wise! Business Administration is a good choice for Vicente, given his experience working with his father. Wasn't he going to be an engineer, originally? I have a student who is a Management major, Spanish minor, and who is already a manager of a couple of small businesses owned by 1 company. He says that his classwork and the seminars his company offers kind of reinforce each other. It's just as well that Cata saw Chivis and Manuel kissing. Maybe now she'll back off.

J--Delightful episode, cracking good recap. I wish AJ had gotten frostbite. He recovered quickly enough when the cops were nosing around, though.

Poor Manuel, he never gets to kiss Chivis for very long. Someone is always interrupting. I didn't expect it to be Cata, but am very glad it was she.

I thought it was a little early for MaJo and her mother to make up, too. Maybe there's a little empathy for others stuck deep inside her and a little is oozing out. I expect her indecision to keep on keepin' on, but when I saw it was episode #52, some resolutions will have to begin (hoping they will, that is).

Thanks for the fine recap, J. I also really appreciate the effort you take translating the idioms and interesting little phrases the characters use.

The Chivis and Majo scene was terrific. The way it was staged, Majo – for a moment – saw her mother really, really sad, vulnerable, and not trying to be brave in front of her children. I enjoyed Majo’s list of all the things Chivis had done as a mother. Speaking as the mother of an adult child, you can’t get anything better than your child telling you they recognize all the sacrifices and love you put into bringing them up. When you’re in the midst of it, especially the occasionally tumultuous teenage years, you doubt whether you’re “doing it right”.

When, oh when is Margarita’s scheming going to come to light? She’s even mean enough that she doesn’t want Benji to be in a relationship for real with Angie. Of course, she also fears that Benji would spill the beans somehow if he’s in love.

I kind of doubt that seeing the kiss between Manuel and la monja will deter Gata. Manuel, of course, should have put an end to this a while back. He’s too wishy-washy in his evasions.

I liked the gift of the earrings. Manuel mentioned that they were artesanal and thus one of a kind by a local person. To me this was touching considering the fact that she has probably gotten very expensive jewelry with precious stones from her ex.

The scene with Lucha and Chivis was very sweet. We had a couple of breakthroughs last night, Majo saying she would try to understand and get used to her mother’s feelings for Manuel. And Lucha basically saying the same thing in the kitchen. I did wonder about the steaming pot of something. I don’t think we’ve ever seen Chivis cook before this! And she left the house with the pot on the boil! Oh, well, telenovela oddities.

I’m getting a bit tired of the constant theme of social classes. OK, we get it already. Poncho’s objecting to Vicente getting a degree was ridiculous.

I thought Poncho might have alluded to a plan to call more attention to Manuel’s supposed trysts in his office in order to undermine him, not just wait around for his chance to get the job. Not very nice. I also thought he expressed sympathy to Jennifer about there not being a baby because Stella raked him over the coals for dancing around when he heard about the ectopic pregnancy.

Anita, I thought the same thing! This is the umpteenth time that someone interrupts a kiss or a tender moment between our protagonists. Chivis'reaction on Monday will be interesting. She's denied all along to Gata that there was anything going on between she and Manuel.

wow, this show continues to impress.

I originally thought this sequel would be a Telemundo thingy, but no, it's based on a second book written by the original author, Gustavo Bolívar, "Sin tetas sí hay paraíso" available at Amazon.

Although I believe this novela could stand alone, as a person could just start watching, (well there would be the who's who thingy) but the more one sees, the richer it gets.

the original story aired in 2008, and 8 years later we are looking at a second generation story with a lot of the original cast being the old guys, if anyone watched the original here is a compilation of Ximena's (Vale's mom) tumultuous love affair with Bayron (the original Cata's brother, a sicario, who died).

Juanita, thank our for another great recap. I would really love to see Manuel grow a backbone in dealing with Cata and Less than Stellar.

Like you all, I enjoy the Manuel-Silvana scenes, and this one with the earrings was cute and sexy. I wish they weren't constantly interrupted.

Great breakthroughs this episode with both Lucha and MJ treating Silvana kindly. I'm glad. She needed a break. I don't think MJ was necessarily going to be quite so forgiving and kind, but when she saw her mom so vulnerable and crying alone, it broke down her own walls. I just wish she had thought to go on her own, without both Andres and Angie insisting she go. Kind of glad she's not moving back home though. I'm enjoying the chemistry of the two families without her throwing it off.

Wow, Andrés and his parents live in one gorgeous set-up! It looks more like an upscale boutique hotel than a home. Wonder what his father is like...? Laura seems like a strong character, although I've no idea why she's so keen on getting MaJo to marry her son. I wouldn't be!
