Tres Veces Ana - # 96

Discussion page and Sneaky's recap later in the day!

Sneaky's recap posted below.

Ok so the action (if we can call it that) happens mostly at the pedida de mano party. They do actually do the ceremonial asking for her hand thing, with lots of teary smiles all around,  except Ramiro’s dad who scowls, but before that a few interesting things do happen:
Abue introduces Remedios to everybody and everybody is polite except Facundo who tries to kill her with his eyes but she stays standing.
BadAna keeps up the goodie good act w/Santiago and Remedios– she’s cool w/Remedios being there as long as she doesn’t blab about Analu, and she tries to convince Remedios to tell her where her little sister is because she just misses her sooooooo much and has totes forgiven her for stealing her husband, although that hurts, and would like to see her, if only from a distance. Remedios tells BadAna that Analu doesn’t know anything about her sisters and just then Ramiro rescues Remedios from BadAna’s clutches and warns her not to trust her nice act, she’s pure poison.

BadAna buttonholes Ramiro to tell him she’ll find her sis one way or another.

Santiago and Facundo square off and trade hard words and threats/warnings about what the other will to if they mess w/Remedios and Marcelo? Facundo’s plans for his and his son’s life? Respectively.
Llora’s foundation friend and Old Flame show up Abue is surprised to know Ramiro works for Old Flame (you were letting your granddaughter marry the guy w/o knowing if he was gainfully employed and where?) but once the shock wears off she’s ok w/his presence and even wants to talk w/him. BadAna notes their chat and tries to get personal info about them out of Leonore but Leonore is a vault.
Later Abue tells Old Flame she didn’t so much want to talk over old times as much as ask him to find her half sister he got blamed for.

TioM and Llora convo – she tells him BadAna told her the fight was something to do w/her and some big secret. If he doesn’t tell she’ll think he doesn’t trust her. He tries to explain w/o actually telling her anything that he’s just human and makes mistakes and has regrets. She knows about regrets and guilt too right? From her parents death and all. Llora wants to clear up that she didn’t cause the accident and doesn’t feel guilt for it but tioDumdum won’t listen or even let her talk. Let’s skip it and getcha engaged. Ok!
Ceremonial stuff happens
BadAna gets together w/Ramiro’s dad to plot.

Back at the pension they’re just about to give one of Remedios’s blouses to Lassie and send her out to find her, or lacking Lassie, start calling the hospitals and morgues, when Analu comes in to tell them Remedios called and is ok and with Santiago and will explain tomorrow. Whew! Relief all around.

Against Chana’s advice, Sole still doesn’t tell Analu the big secret (big surprise) but wants them to get along anyway (really? Well that’s a shock. *sarcasm*) Analu opens up and tells her that Remedios told her she was w/Santi at the wife’s family’s house, boo hoo, and Analu knows the wife’s name b/c she stole his wedding ring and she plans to tell the wife she can come get it in person. Sole is horrified by this plan

Val’s place
Val is drunk and Clawdia (don’t remember who coined but thanks and can I borrow it?) is disgusted at him. He knows what’s going on right now, he was invited but couldn’t stomach it, but if he could find the missing sister everything would be different and he’d have a chance. Will Clawdia help him? Yeah nope she leaves in disgust and calls TioM to tell him she knows where Analu is and can help him find her.

Next morning
Llora and Abue chat about missing her parents and sis and how what happened was just fate and Llora shouldn’t blame herself. Llora notes that A. she never has blamed herself and B. TioM said the same thing last night. What has BadAna been telling them? Oh nothing, Abue lies badly (*massive eyeroll* )
Is BadAna blaming me for the accident? Nooooo not at all (seriously if you’re going to lie that poorly and obviously why even bother lying?)
Llora isn’t brain damaged (contrary to past speculation on the patio) and looks very doubtful, but Abue doesn’t want to discuss.

TioM goes to Clawdia’s place to yell at her for interrupting/calling him at all since he’s done with her and not interested. He doesn’t believe she can find Analu b/c he doesn’t believe Analu is alive but Clawd seems so sure and confident when she says she’s both seen and spoken to Analu and can take him to meet her right now he looks like he might take her up on it.

Will he?
Will anybody ever tell Llora the lies BadAna has been telling about her involvement in the accident?
Will Sole ever tell Analu the truth?
Yeah I don’t think so either but stick around to find out.

Comments:
The problem now is that Ramiro and SantMarc will also have to protect Remedios from Facundo and Ana MeMeMe.

Mariano needs to tell Ramiro about Clawdia's encounter with Ana Lucia. This whole thing is now getting out of control and these guys need some help, especially when SantMarc enters the hospital for surgery. The recovery from this takes a while. My friend is almost done with radiation and will get four rounds of chemo over a two-month period. That's more than enough time for Ana MeMeMe to plot and carry out Ana Lucia's murder. Let's not fool ourselves about that.

Facundo will probably try to kill Remedios before that can happen. He may not try it himself if he knows Evaristo.

Yes, craziness and evil prevail. AnaLe, Valentin and maybe Edmundo will also be working to prevent Ramiro and AnaLau's wedding. With Santiago's surgery, it looks like Ramiro is going to be doing the daily hero work. And then there is AnaLe's likely attempt to do away with Viridiana.

So on a lighter note, so Miranda was an actress earlier in her life. And Ana Laura's dress was sooo not flattering! As I recall, that was another Viridiana creation.

I loved Remedies' face during AnaLe's efforts to get AnaLu's address. Also enjoyed Leonor's putdown of AnaLe as in "mind your own business" with reference to Rodrigo. How could Mariano possibly believe let alone accuse AnaLau of causing the accident?
Mariano of the beautiful eyes is indeed a slimeball.

LooneyVision was sooo screwed up last night. I was screaming at Remedios, "Noooo Nooo Don't, Nooo" and she never heard a peep.

Poor Remi, she has her near death experience, then is thrust into a (to her) foreign world with all these people and has her AnaLetme(killmysisterOK) experience. Ay Ay yi poor girl. AnaLet is all over the place, I mean no one escapes her. Does no one ever ask her like "Hey, where are you going, we have a todoo going on?" or "Where have you been?"

Yes, AnaLaughatme seems to choose clothing which blends into the wallpaper. If she is trying to be a younger version of the lady in American Gothic, Ram just needs to round up a pitchfork.

toa

Traveling Lady, yes! Remedios' expression while suffering through Ana Leticia's onslaught was priceless and as toa said there was nobody to rescue her.

Ana Leticia is never at a loss for action very long. She glommed right on to Ramiro's dad to commiserate about the engagement.

Claudia sure had a wake up call for tío Mariano.

Looking forward to the recap!

The Remedios-AnaLet conversation was another one that went on for too long. Was glad that Ram rescued her and then told her the real deal about that viper. She was very close to falling for her scam.

Why did Edmundo even come if he was going to throw so much shade on Ram-AnaLu? What a jerk.

AnaLet has so many irons on the fire. Not sure how she'll accomplish all her goals-- find AnaLu, kill AnaLu, seduce Santiago, neutralize Marcelo, ruin Llora and Ram's relationship/wedding, find out what's up between Abue and Rod and squash it, seduce Tio Mariano, and kill Viridiana. She needs an assistant!

I was also nervous for Remedios last night when Ana MeMeMe started working on her. At least Ramiro came to her rescue. If Santiago is thinking well he should pretend to be Marcelo and lay down the law to Ana MeMeMe and Facundo that Remedios is not to be harmed.

I finally remembered that it's been ages since Ghoulieta's husband called a private investigator to have her past looked into. Have the writers dropped the ball on that or are they waiting until Inaki needs more dinero to yank it away from her?

We don't know how much she has given him except that it was enough for him to buy a new -- and expensive -- car that he now has to replace. He may get into even more trouble with gambling debts just when she can't bail him out of them. She will end up like Nerina.

Vivi, she does need an assistant and I think she may find Inaki a somewhat willing one for some of them. He did murder Daniel so I guess we can't say anything is off limits.

Looking forward to the recap to refresh my memory of all the horrors of last night, but I do remember a few things already...

I thought it was ironic that AnaLet wiped her hands in disgust after talking to (and groping) Remedios. The whole time she was pawing Rem, I kept thinking that Rem was the one who would need a bath afterwards. After all, AnaLet is filled with poisonous spiders.

I hated Ana Laura's outfit. I realize that she's supposed to seem innocent and demure, but there's a limit. A 12-year-old would have chosen something more sophisticated. Laura looked like a little girl, right down to the mother-of-pearl daisy pin in her hair.

Clawdia's dress was ugly, too. It looked like one of Viridiana's creations.

I wonder what Claudia will want from Mariano to get the info on Llora? She wants him but will money be enough?

The way AnaLet was pawing Ram's dad made me vomit a little in my mouth.

Julie, I had already forgotten about how inappropriate Ana Laura's look was. You hit it on the head with her looking like a 12 year old. Then there was Ana Leticia wiping her paws. Thanks for reminding me. I am useless unless I take notes. : (

Julie, I hope there is a continuation of that scene tonight so I can screen-grab that dress. It was childish-looking and so was that hairpin. It's meant to be a contrast to the ramerawear of Ana MeMeME (new spelling).

Ana Laura should be in maxi-length dresses with a better prosthesis (like the one Paul McCartney's ex-wife has), cool shoes, and a moderately low neckline. I'd love to send her some of my jewelry, too, because I only make statement pieces.

Ana Laura definitely needs a redo. I do see some progress in her self-esteem, however, that is still way too low.
I was delighted that she challenged her grandmother about the lie that AnaLe told about who was at fault in the accident.
She has also kept information from AnaLe -- again, progress! She is not there yet, but she has come a long way.

Edmundo's leering at Ana Leticia brings us back to men's hormones. She looks so trashy and hard, not daughter-in-law material.

Vivi - love the idea of an assistant for AnaLe. I don't think it will be Inaki, but we will see. His evil moment was linked to the worst thing that ever happened to him, his mother's betrayal. He has been cagey with AnaLe so far. His mother does look ghoulish with the excessive make-up. I recall the actress being so beautiful and engaging in Tres Mujeres, many, many moons ago.

I think that the writers must need a fleet of assistants to remember all the loose ends to resolve in these last 25 episodes. I hope that they get it together and cover all the bases in a satisfying way. My image of the ending involves Santiago's recovery in the arms of AnaLu -- hardly a brilliant prediction or spoiler. Just not sure how else it can end.

Off-topic: Virginia, I moved to Cleveland two years ago. How intrepid you were to do all that driving to get to Cam Corners. Glad that it was a satisfying experience. Lots to do here in this city on the lake. Savoring this beautiful weather before the cold sets in. We are on relatively near east side where the snow flies.

It's a shame there was a lack of hand sanitizer last night, wasn't it?

Ana Let looked as though she had her hand in bio hazardous material when she clasped Remedios' hands oh so sincerely. Clawdia also looked as though her brother (and/or his surroundings)infected her with a deadly disease.

I did not understand Ana Laura's dress at all. It had an elastic high waist yet she wore a belt on her natural waist.

My heart went out to her. Vultures waited to pounce as she made her staircase descent (her "sister" and Edmundo among others).

It will be interesting to see what payment Clawdia wants to reveal Ana's whereabouts to Mariano. I imagine we should be grateful that she didn't go to Ana Let instead...

Diana

Vivi-- you and I on the same wave length with the endless Rem and AnaLoon encounter. Definite confirmation we are in the "Ultimate Filler" zone. Drag out confrontations, conversations go on forever, lots of stares and lots of flashbacks (I'm betting) and worthless scenes just to keep tension to the finale.

The whole time AnaLoon was working on Rem I kept thinking "where the h*** is Santi or someone to check where these two are? Isn't there a party supposedly going on?" Thank the heavens for our "hero" Ram.

AnaLoon and Facundo have sure conquered doing that 'Pickle face" as events were playing out. The more they feel they are losing control, the funnier they look. Facundo is one short squint away from the "passing a kidney stone" look.

And yes, what a horrendous outfit on Llora, but did we expect anything else. She's everyone's innocent baby doll who should be in direct contrast to whatever AnaLoon is currently displaying. But that one was particularly concerning because it made her look like a girl going to her 5 year old party. By the end of this, girl has got to get away from the muted grays and beige and show some color!

Random Tin scene....PULEESE! Enough already with the I"m slobbering over my drinks and being delusionsal and angry again. Anyone else almost wishing Claws would take one of those bottles and club him over the head with it. Sideline this idiot until Finale.

The real issue with the prosthetic is not what it looks like or whether Ana Laura can get a better one, it's that she is embarrassed by it. I think she would be embarrassed by it no matter what it looked like, and would be mortified for anyone to see it. She's not the type to enjoy cyborg jokes, unfortunately.

From the photo link Urban provided, it looks like the former Mrs McCartney has a knee. (Well, two knees. You know what I meant.) Having your own knee vs not probably makes a big difference as to how well you can walk with a prosthetic.

And if it's the limp rather than the prosthetic that embarrasses Ana Laura, millions of people walk with a much worse limp than Laura's, and do not feel embarrassed or diminished by it. (I had a limp through much of January and February this year.) Annoyed, inconvenienced, frustrated - yes. Embarrassed - no, life's too short.

Ana Laura should get on the Internet and look up Heather Abbott, a Boston Marathon survivor who is not afraid to show off her new leg. Laura really needs to get some perspective; you'd think her whole self-esteem was located in the leg that she lost.

I'm sure AnaLet bullied AnaLlora her whole life about the missing leg and that's why she is still so traumatized by it and feels so inferior. And the way Leonor and Ernie treat her like she is a victim doesn't help. She probably needed some tough love growing up but no one would give it to her after all she had been through.

WOW everyone, we are on a roll this Friday. Did Santi have a little more backbone in this episode than he has shown thus far? Are we seeing the results of an internal WW3 inside his head where Santi is winning? He just was not as much of a wet noodle as he has been in the past.

toa

David, well, the positive is he remembers what his alter ego is doing and that's big. As long as someone doesn't get him too angry or hit him in the head, we might be ok. But I don't think we've seen the last of Marcelo. At least not if Facundo has anything to do with it. I still say he's setting his son up for some ill gotten gain.

Yeah, actually Santi did have more gumption or something in the last couple of episodes.

I like how he gives Marcelo a little nosebleed every time he shows up. :-)

Yes, but bringing Remedios to this engagement party has put her life in danger. This decision wasn't well thought out.

He needs to stand up to Facundo and to Ana MeMeME. It's too bad he told her about the brain tumor, but I suppose that truth would have come out eventually anyway.

Yep, AnaLaura's engagement dress is the worse thing she's worn so far. I thought Viri had given her better clothes that would stop her from "hiding" as Viri put it, but I guess not. AnaLaura should volunteer with the Paralympics.

Ratmundo has some nerve snubbing AnaLaura. I think his real issue is he can't stand for Ramiro to be happy. He knows full well that viper AnaLet (or Gina before her) would make his son miserable.

I felt bad for Remedios at first because Santi had her walk in that parlor in her dowdy day dress and sweater while everybody else was in their finest. Just like a man to think this was no big deal!

That's kid stuff compared to what a vipers' nest that house is.

Ana MeMeME's reaction after that hypocritical hug was priceless to watch but incredibly distasteful -- not to mention insane -- as a personality trait. She is likely to feel the same way when she finally encounters Ana Lucia no matter what she says.

I'm not sure that Mariano being the first to find Ana Lucia would be a good idea. He's still snowed by Ana MeMeME and could make the potentially fatal mistake of introducing them first.

You are so right UA!

And compounding the issue is the fact Ramiro has no idea Clawd has imparted this bit of news to Mariano. Even a super hero has to hear some rustling to do something about it!

Diana

If he doesn't find this out tonight he might not for another dozen episodes. Not good.

How many episodes are there supposed to be, anyway? And how are they being counted?

Yeah, Ana Laura's dress could not have come from Viri's shop. Cause the one AnaLet got there was Beauuuutiful. :-)

Vir is a nice chick, I am glad she doesn't wear her own stuff.

I think we are looking at a grand total of 120 or so.

Mati, forgot to note - see you are in my neck of the woods along with Virginia. I live in Lakewood!

I agree- Rem looked so out of her element with that gang. Santi may have wanted to make a point to both her and the "family" but now she's been made a target for sure. Problem essentially with Rem, and we saw it with how Pickle Puss led her away in the car and how she was getting pulled in by AnaLoon was that she is easily manipulated more often than not. You wish she had been stronger to tell Santi it wasn't needed for her to come with him, but she backs down every time.

Other than Facundo who hates her because she's competing with him for his son, and Edmundo, who didn't give a flying flip about anything that had to do with that engagement party, everyone in the room was friendly and welcoming to Remedios-- even AnaLet (although we know that was fake). She was out of place in her clothes, but no one made her feel unwelcome. I thought they were rather warm and gracious.

Like some of you, I was also wondering why Dreadmundo showed up at the party. Could only have been to make Ramiro and AnaLaura unhappy.

Poor Remedios. She is so-o-o good and trusting. She and Santi are cut from the same mold. Rem was taken by AnaLet's false sincerity just as Santi was at the infamous "all day breakfast" a few episodes ago.

Although, I don't know how wise it is for Mariano to be the first to find AnaLu, I hope that tonight she will finally be found and "clued-in" about who she really is.

Really looking forward to tonight's episode!

I think Dreadmundo showed up to the party so that nobody could say that he didn't show up to his son's engagement party.

DaisyJay - Hi neighbor. Great to see fellow Buckeyes here. I am late to the game because I started late and watched the episodes on Hulu. It took me a while to catch up but so glad to be on track as we tackle the last part of the show.

And another thing....Are we to believe that something as pivotal in everyone's lives as who actually caused the accident which orphaned two little girls and a hyena is only now coming to light? Well, not coming to light, but Good Ana is just now about to hear that Bad Ana who caused it, has blamed it on her for going on two decades?

In that case, if Bad Ana is say, 20, and at the rate she is going, be lucky to make it to 60, her murder(s) may not have time to be discovered.

Bad Ana only started blaming her for it a few months ago. Bad Ana remembered causing the accident when she had a nightmare just a few months ago. She told Llora about it. But then she told Ernestina that it was Llora who had the nightmare, and that Llora had caused the wreck.

Evidently, in the 20 years, NOBODY has ever discussed the cause of the wreck with either of them before. Which pretty much means there was no investigation! And even now that Llora is trying to straighten out the record, no one will let her talk!!

Sorry , that last comment was for TOA... I hain't read the recap yet.

Okay, now I've read it.
Thank you, Sneaky! "Ok so the action (if we can call it that) happens mostly at the pedida de mano party." Funny thing, I read this as "perdida de mano party." Like that poor girl hasn't been through enough already! LOL.

I wish Lassie was in this. In fact, I'd like there to be three Lassies in this, to go along with the triplets and the three sisters.

Julie thanks and I think you're totally right about why Dreadmundo showed up to the party. Perdida de mano - hehe!

Vivi - thought BadAna was interviewing Clawdia for the position of assistant but Clawd turned on her

Sneaky, Thank you for your recap! I really enjoyed it.

I am way behind reading the recaps and comments because I am wstching 3 novelas. I am watching 3xAna, El color/Pasion and "AQNMD"
I record AQNMD and then watch all 3 back to back.
I love all of them!

I hope Ana Laura finds out the big lie Analet told her abuela that she caused the accident. She tried, but Abuela and Tio shushed her up, still believing that lie but not telling ALaura, how unfair!

Yes, that part killed me when she knocked on her sister's leg. Then she smiles sweetly. Ugggghhhh

I think she's ready to get another b---tch-slap!

Well, Ram been promising ALaura forever that he will have her sister there until the wedding. Just dragging it out. I know he and Santi were waiting for right moment. So thats what Ram will get, someone else is now doing that and getting all the glory. What a shame! Que tonto. (Imho). i just wanted him to do it.

Oh well, maybe that is the plan to keep the tn interesting.

Leticia

Thanks Sneaky! When you said "Llora’s foundation friend and Old Flame show up" at first I thought you were talking about the woman from the foundation...can't remember her name...that got blamed for stealing the money. Must say it would make Llora infinitely more interesting if she had a lesbian past! Of course then you made it clear it was Rodrigo but gave me a chuckle to think about it nonetheless.

Oh I hope Mariano finds AnaLu without having to give too much to Claws.

Oh, and a very Sneaky thank You is in order. Nice work, especially 'gives one of Remi's blouses to Lassie.'

Clawdia was me, permission granted.

toa

Even if Mariano sees AnaLu, he may somehow get drawn into the conspiracy. It's not as though anyone needs a really compelling reason to keep the secret - people are already keeping it for a variety of feeble reasons, even though they know that it's inevitable that they'll meet because AnaLu and AnaLet are desperate to confront one another.

Thanks Sneaky. Reading again about Abue and Llora's chat it continually amazes how both Tio and Abue are quick to judge others but just keep not seeing the forest for the trees with AnaLoon. They give us glimmers of hope than go right back to buying every word she says. A lot of how she has been left to be can be squarely laid at their hands. And Llora's lack of self confidence. Losing parents shouldn't translate to being a brat and getting away with it.

When they start learning the facts on AnaLoon, especially with Jenny's death...wow. that especially I want to see

Daisynjay

Thanks, Sneaky! Short and too the point (unlike that conversation between Rem and AnaLet). :)

Yeah, those two conversations between Llora (who hasn't cried in a long time!) and Abue and Tio were so frustrating! First they hint around at the damn thing, then refuse to say what they mean when asked directly, then shut down the conversation completely.

Sneaky Two Shoes, this was short, sweet and sassy. Terrific rendition of a very interesting night.

"BadAna buttonholes Ramiro to tell him she’ll find her sis one way or another" was my favorite among many. No rest for the evil, is there?

Ana Laura seems never to have any true moments of happiness. Ana Let is determined to let not one ray of sunshine enter her sister's life. Jealousy has wrapped itself so tightly around her heart, you wonder how it can continue to beat.

I hope we have more Inaki tonight. I will feel better when Remedios is home safe and sound.

"BadAna gets together w/Ramiro’s dad to plot". I stand by my earlier assertion that Ana was descending into deep, hazardous waters. She knows Ramiro's father does not like her and her sister is like a shark who appears out of no where, ready to attack. The water may be filled with friendly fish, but you need to have only one or two vicious sharks for carnage.

Sneaky, this was great! Thank you!

Diana

Carlvivlie - So many times I don't think of how hilariously off my sentences can sound till I'm re-reading after I post. I totally missed that one but I'm glad you got a chuckle out of it.

thanks toa for Clawdia

Vivi you're totally right about Llora's lack of tears but I got so used to calling her that and have no replacement nickname so she's stuck w/Llora. But yay for her new backbone, I'm starting to root for her

There isn't much sunshine in Ana Leticia's life either, though that's entirely her own fault. It must be torture to live among people who make you feel nothing but contempt, and it must be exhausting to pretend to like people you hate. She really doesn't have to live in that house, and she would probably be happier if she lived someplace where she didn't have to witness people being nice to her sister.

Not that I'm feeling sorry for her at all. Just want to point out that AnaLet's joys are fleeting and few.

Julie - I want to agree w/you but she did move out when she married that hawt PI. She even moved to another town and she still wasn't happy. I think its an internal problem, not just Abue's joyless house of tears.

Gracias, Sneaky, for the great work.

Ana MeMeME isn't happy if anyone else is. It's that simple.

Thanks, Sneaky. This TN could use your ability to get to the meat.

Even if AnaLe hooked up with Tio, my guess is after the initial thrill she'd still feel as empty inside as she did with Marcelo. ITA Controlling and making others unhappy is where she gets her real kicks.

I was laughing at Remedios for getting snowed by AnaLe, but if you look at just the facts AnaLe is right to hang on to her betrothed and AnaLaura should bow out gracefully.

...Ana Lucia should bow out

Thank you, Sneaky. What a treat! I am still giggling about Lassie's entrance. He could do some good right now!

Thanks so much, Sneaky - loved the recap!! Definitely deserving of eyerolls for all the terrible liars out there!
