Vino el Amor 11/30/2016, Chapter #23: Confession is Good for the Soul

Vino el Amor 11/30/2016, chapter #23: Confession is good for the Soul
Miguel and Luciana continue walking through the vineyard and he tells her that he defended her to David and told David that he truly loves Luciana. She says she is very thankful and appreciates him. But Miguel tells her that love is just not thankful, it searches the highest and does even more. He even told David that he loves Luciana, but she looks a little uncomfortable. Luciana is visibly shaken and Miguel asks her what’s wrong. Luciana says it’s because David doesn’t approve of love relationships between employees. Miguel counters that it should no longer be a problem since she is no longer working there and neither will Miguel soon. Miguel continues that David told him that he made a big mistake blaming Luciana and wanted her to stay, she said no. Miguel asks, “What this is all about?” Is this over her pride or other things, like her doubts that they had previously discussed concerning their relationship. Luciana says that this is the only thing left to do is leave.

Sonia and Lillian are cackling in the kitchen together. Lillian is having a cup of coffee and is gloating over the fact that they will finally be rid of Marta and of course, Luciana. She couldn’t be happier. Sonia says it sure is wonderful, now that it’s time that they leave and it gives her such pleasure as well. Lillian lifts up her head and says, “But why would it be for you?” Sonia covers and says, “Well, of course because it makes you happy!” Lillian says that the best thing is that Marta will no longer be here. Sonia says, “But what if she still goes out with Gutierrez?” Lillian assures her that will never happen again. Gutierrez is for Lillian and no one is going to take him from her. Now Sonia says that she is going to dedicate herself to take care of the children. She wants them to think of her and love her as their mother. Lillian says, “WHAT did you say???” Sonia says, “Oh I mean to say Marta. I hope the children will love me like they do Marta.” Lillian glares at Sonia and walks away. Sonia whips out a wallet sized photo of David and swoons on to say, “Oh I want to be a wonderful mother to your children, OUR children, oh, your children.”
“Mamita Linda” (AKA Mommy Dearest) Lillian walks up to Gracie and tells her that she found out that Gracie is planning to stay here with David. Juan let her know that she was the one who arranged the earrings heist. Gracie says, “Yes, I will get rid of anyone who gets in my way whether it’s Luciana or whoever, and that includes you too, Mommy Dearest.” Lillian says Gracie doesn’t have to feel that way because of course, Mommy is on her side. Lillian tells her she is very grateful for what she did. However Gracie tells her not to get too excited because Fernanda wants Marta to stay. Lillian is pissed off about that one, so Gracie tells Mommy Dearest that if she wants Marta to be gone, she is just going to have to help Gracie.
Mean girls Perla and Carito are cackling outside on the porch just gloating over Luciana’s impending departure. Perla remarks that since Leon is leaving too, Carito no longer has to play around and use Leon. Carito says that she did enjoy her time with Leon. Perla says that now, finally Carito can have Miguel all to herself since Luciana is leaving. Leon enters and say, “It’ so good to see you here, but things sure will be different when I leave and I won’t see you every day. I will be visiting you though.”
David speaks to Tano and Susan outside in the vineyard and they discuss the fact that David has never approved of the employees having personal relationships together. He says that he will soften that rule as long as employees will continue to work and do a good job and not let their relationships affect their work. Tano and Susan agree to that and that they both will continue to do the good job they have always done in the past. As Tano grins, Susan asks David if she can speak with him privately and the two of them walk off.
Then Tano gets a text from Fernanda that she wants to see him and asks for him to come up to her room to talk. She says she needs to speak to him about something important and it’s very complicated. Tano goes up and Fernanda thanks him for coming up. Fernanda tells him she feels very badly about something as she is crying. She says she did something very bad! Fernanda tells Tano that he’s the only one she can talk to and she knows that he won’t think badly of her. Tano tells her to calm down and tell him what is bothering her and he will advise her on what to do. Fernanda tearfully confesses, “I was the one who took the earrings and hid them in Luciana’s bag.” Tano remarks that it’s really bad, Luciana can get thrown in jail and now the rest of her family is leaving, including Miguel. He says, “Now can you see how many this now affects?” Fernanda say, “Yes, that is why I feel so badly and now I wish I had never done this.” Tano finally tells her the only way to fix things now is for her to tell the truth. Fernanda is now afraid that her father will go crazy when he hears this. Tano continues to advise her to tell the truth no matter what and that she will feel much better once she tells the truth. Then David walks in and finds Tano there and doesn’t look very happy about Tano being in his daughter’s room! David says, “Tano, what are you doing here?”
Fernanda explains that she invited him up there because he is her friend and she needed someone to talk to. She had to discuss with him something very important Tano leaves, but Bobby enters. Bobby announces he’s packed and ready to go with Marta! Fernanda asks why he is leaving and he says, “Well without Marta or Luciana around, no one is going to pay any attention to me.” David tells him that his family is always there for him and loves him very much and there is no reason to leave and this is his home. Fernanda finally pipes up and says, “They are no longer going to leave now….because…..I was the one who put those earrings in Luciana’s things.”
David asks Fernanda, “Why in the world would you do a thing like that?” Fernanda tearfully admits because she was stupid and jealous, and that she was just bothered by Luciana’s presence there. “Please forgive me Daddy, I know I’ve done wrong!” David exclaims that he didn’t raise her to be that way and that this was because of a stupid tantrum of hers. David says, “Can you see what you have done? You have really done it this time and I’m very disappointed in you!” Fernanda is grounded, privileges taken. Daddy demands her cell phone, tablet, and her computer. She also cannot have any spending money. She is GROUNDED. Plus she will have to apologize to Luciana and her family. David angrily leaves her room and then Bobby lays in on her about what she did. (I thought it was cute.)
Now Gracie enters Fernanda’s room and asks how she is doing. Gracie says, “Fernanda, what are you crying about, what happened?” Fernanda says, “I just couldn’t take it anymore. I had to admit that I was the one who took the earrings.” Gracie is very upset and demands to know why Fernanda would betray her that way! Fernanda says, “Please don’t say that. I had to do the right thing. Marta was going to leave and Bobby wanted to go with her. I had to do the right thing.” Now Gracie gets ballistic and lays a real guilt trip on Fernanda. She says “Fernanda you promised me! I came all the way out here FOR YOU and this is how you treat me? I left some very important projects and I did it all for you because YOU wanted me to come and help YOU! All our plans are going down the drain because of Luciana. If you don’t have the maturity to deal with all this, then I’m outa here! I don’t know how else to defend this family if you don’t cooperate.” Gracie heads for the door and opens it. Fernanda cries out, “Tia! Please understand me. The truth is that I felt really badly about having done this.” Gracie explains that sometimes you have to do what you have to do and Fernanda, just has to grow up and do things that she might not enjoy doing. Fernanda says, “Please Aunt Gracie, please don’t be mad at me too.” Gracie takes her in her arms and comforts her and says she will always be there for Fernanda. Fernanda explains to Gracie that she is now grounded and won’t be allowed out of the house till the year 2035. But Aunt Gracie says she will speak to David for her and try to get things all fixed up. Now, Gracie says, “We have to think about what we are going to do if that woman stays. Are you ready to accept Luciana as your stepmother?” Well says Gracie, “I have to think about what to do next, but all this I guess is for Marta to stay.”
Gutierrez shows up on the porch at the employees’ house. Marta greets him, but he’s coming to cancel their date for Sunday, feigning that it’s all about work and for his promotion to captain. Marta looks a little perplexed and says, “Are you sure this has nothing to do with Lillian?” Gutierrez has lies written all over his face when she asked him that. Gutierrez denies it and swears it’s because he’s focusing on his promotion and will let her know when he has more free time. Marta mumbles to herself because she knows that it really is about Lillian.
Luciana and Susan are talking in the lab at lunchtime and she is telling Susan how disappointed she is in David, both as a boss and a man. But as Luciana says, don’t worry about this anymore because she isn’t going to worry. She is going to go and have a new job and start over again. She will remember what she had with David, it was lovely while it lasted, but it’s now over. She thanks Susan and leaves.
Luciana is outside in the vineyard with her hand in the soil. She says out loud, “I’m leaving this place now, Daddy.” David approaches her and tells her he knows that Miguel loves her. Now he needs to know what she feels for Miguel as well. David also tells asks if it would help if he told her that he loved her too. However, Luciana says that would just make things a lot more complicated and now Luciana believes he’s saying this only because she is leaving. The problem is that David didn’t believe her and his words don’t change anything. David tells her that she’s only leaving out of her own pride. Luciana counters she didn’t start this that it’s just better to leave things as they are and she needs to get going. As she turns to leave, David grabs her arm and tells her that he truly feels like a moron regarding about who took the earrings and even more now that he actually knows now who really did take the earnings.
Marta approaches them and David says she is glad she is there. He has to ask their forgiveness on behalf of Fernanda. Suddenly Lillian comes running up with two police officers and says, “That’s her, she’s the thief, arrest her!” David says, “Stop, she is innocent, what are you doing?” Lillian smirks and says, “I’m looking out for my family. I know you didn’t want the police involved, but we can’t let her (Luciana) get away with stealing the earrings. We all know that she is the thief!” David finally says, “The person who put the earrings in Luciana’s stuff was Fernanda!” Lillian is incensed and says, “How could you say a thing like that?” David says he is telling the truth and that Fernanda herself confessed. He sends the officers away. Lillian is angry and accuses David of putting Marta and Luciana above his own family.
Luciana then says, “What, it was Fernanda?” Marta wants to know how it is possible that Fernanda did a thing like that and she was going to go talk to her. Luciana tells David nothing has changed. The problem was that he did believe her when she was innocent and that’s what really hurt. David hands Luciana her notebook that Fernanda had. Luciana tells him how important it was to her and it had everything that her own father taught her. She turns to leave.
Marta enters Fernanda’s room. Bobby is already there talking to Fer and Fernanda is trying to tell Bobby that Luciana is trying to take their father away from them. Even Bobby knows that that they are good friends and Bobby thinks Luciana is great. Marta then asks Bobby to leave so she can talk to Fer. Marta says, “How is it possible that you could do a thing like that to my daughter? I can hardly believe it!” Fernanda says that she did it because she was afraid that Luciana was going to take away her father’s love. Marta told her that the consequences were very grave for doing such a thing. Marta also asks if it was her grandmother who put her up to this. Fernando says no, but she wants forgiveness. Marta also asks what she was doing there at the employees’ house. Fernanda admits she is in love with Tano. Marta give her the standard lecture on how she should not be mixing with the employees because there must be a separation. She must learn there are consequences to everything she does.
Later, Susan and Tano are walking through the vineyard and Tano has explained that it was Fernanda who had staged the theft to make it look like Luciana took the earrings. Susan is surprised that Fernanda would do a thing like that but agrees that Fernanda confessing was the only right thing to do. Susan warns Tano that Fernanda might turn out to be just trouble for him and asks what David is going to think when they admitted to a relationship together and the next thing David finds Tano in his daughter’s room! Susan explains that if Fernanda is capable of doing this to Luciana just because doesn’t like her, and that Fernanda could turn on him too making bigger problems.
Miguel catches up with Luciana to tell her that he just found out about Fernanda being the real earring thief who set up Luciana. Luci tells him, “Well that isn’t even the worst. I just got back from having the police called on me because Lillian called them to come take me away.” Miguel is asking her to stay, but Luciana says that she no longer has the confidence to stay.
Gracie finds David and comes running up to say, “I just found out that it was Fernanda who took the earrings! How could she do a thing like that?” David says, “I don’t know how she could come up with doing something so cruel and so manipulative. I don’t know why she hates Luciana so much.” Gracie offers up her opinion that it could be that Fernanda doesn’t have a mother around and she thinks of Luciana as a threat. She also tells David that he needs to get closer to his daughter and that she will stay around to help with this since Fernanda confides in her so much. Gracie tells David that it’s too much and too complicated for him to get involved with any woman when he has kids that might object.
We see Gracie in Fernanda’s room offering to take the rap for the earrings conspiracy theft so that she won’t have to suffer through all this punishment. If her father runs her off from the house because Gracie is a bad influence, well she will explain they did it for the greater good. David abruptly comes in and tells Fernanda to get it together, put on her coat, and come with him to the employees’ home. David explains that she is going to apologize. Gracie says, “But she can’t walk!” David says, “No worries, I’m going to help her.” But Gracie turns to David and says, “I need to tell you the truth.” Fernanda interrupts and says, “no, no, no! I was just discussing with my aunt about having her talk to you about lifting my punishment.” But David says that is not going to happen and tells her to put on her coat. Gracie offers to go with her, but David says no, this is something Fernanda has to do by herself.
Gutierrez confronts Lillian and he’s angry with her and tells her she just wasted his men’s time. Lillian still holds to her story that Luciana stole the earrings. But Gutierrez said that his men told him a completely different story. He says he does not want to hurt Marta again. But Lillian said, “I thought you would help me with anything!” Gutierrez says that he thought she was telling the truth and he’s done with Lillian. Gutierrez also threatens that he will tell her son in law that that she made him deport Marta’s family just to hurt Marta. He’s done with her!
Later at the employees’ residence, Carito is making pasta and talking to Miguel. She says she feels bad about Luciana and the family leaving. Miguel says he’s leaving too. Carito says, “Why?” Miguel replies, “Because of Luciana.” Then Carito angrily throws down that dish of pasta. “I can’t believe that you are going to go after her! Everyone has seen her with the boss and now the boss knows she stole the earrings!” Miguel stands up and says, “Stop talking foolishness now! Luciana is innocent! Even the boss knows now that it was Fernanda who took the earrings and set up Luciana! Leave Luciana in peace or I will lose my respect for you both!” Luciana enters and the mean girls just can’t believe this and decide to walk out together.
Luciana tearfully tells Miguel how difficult things have been for her since she arrived. First the death of her father and just the way people think of her, as if she has no feelings. No one knows how much it hurt that everyone thought she was a thief. She just can’t take it anymore and needs to put some distance between herself and this place now. She will not return. Both mean girls are outside on the porch and Carito is complaining about Miguel’s leaving with Luciana’s family. She says, “And here I was doing this foolish stuff trying to make Miguel jealous by using Leon.” Perla tells Carito that the way to catch a man is to put competition in front of him. However, Carito realizes that Miguel doesn’t have eyes for her, all he thinks about it is Luciana. But there she is, being a slut with the boss. They start talking about how she has been using Leon, when unbeknownst to them, Leon walks up but they don’t see him. Poor Leon realizes he’s being made a fool of.
David and Fernanda then come in to the employees’ home and David asks for her mother and Leon. David then asks Luciana about overhearing that she will never return. “Is that definite?” says David. Luciana says she no longer wants to have any problems with anyone. David says she can come back anytime she wants.
The girls keep talking and Leon hears everything. At that moment, he hears his mother call for him. He answers from the porch and begins to goes inside. Then the girls realize he heard what they were saying about him. Before he goes in the house, Leon says, “Why have you done this to me when I have been so good to you?” Perla tells Carito to wipe that look off her face because she’s getting very tired of it all.
Leon walks in and Fernanda begins to apologize and admits to her wrong doing and says she is sorry. But Luciana wants an explanation. She wants to know why Fernanda hates her so much. Fernanda admits that it’s because she doesn’t want anyone to try to take the place of her mother. She thinks that is what Luciana wants to do. Luciana says she doesn’t want to take the place of anyone but asks her if she wants her father to be happy. Fernanda explains that ever since her mother died, her father changed and she doesn’t anyone to steal away her father’s affections. Luciana says that doesn’t have to happen because she and her brother will always be the most important in their dad’s life. David says that Luciana is right, since the day he held Fernanda in his arms when she was born, he was dedicated to loving her. He will always love his children.
Gracie and Lillian are arguing in the last scene with Lillian blaming Gracie for the plan falling through because she doesn’t know how to manipulate Fernanda. (Grandma has much more experience in these matters.) Gracie says that she learned from the champ, but Lillian counters that her manipulations never hurt anyone. (Ha!) Lillian warns Gracie that if she is not careful, everything will blow up in her face.

Thank you Cynthia. As I watch it doesn't seem much transpires but it actually does.

"Now Gracie enters Fernanda’s room"

No one suspects Graciela of poisoning Fernanda's mind when they are known to be close? I understand Marta suspecting Lilian and perhaps David would suspect Lilian too after calling the cops but it's as if Graciela isn't there. Guess that is why we get back to back to back scenes of David and Graciela and no one interrupts them.

Brutal for Leon to overhear the truth but glad he knows and the humiliation may prompt him to leave.

Luciana's farewell tour continues but for a very brief visit to the Vineyard Juan so graciously referred. The guy kept mentioning Davids mistreatment, Luciana looked a bit uncomfortable but didn't correct him. Marta and Leon welcome though. Excellent move Juan.

They have ruined Susan. Shame.

Thank You so much Cynthia. Wow how thorough.

I was ready to bail on this show until FerBrat failed her witch finals so badly. I was disappointed she didn't let Professor Grace go down with her. I didn't expect to see this until episode 999. I mean we are under episode 100 and something has actually happened.

Hi, Cynthia. Just about to read the recap, but can you put a page break in so that the recap doesn't take up most of the space on the main page?

Cynthia, this was superb.

From the marvelous title, screen shots, clear writing style, you spun the yarn of a marginal episode into pure gold.

Your dialogue translations added so much, you provided insight into the actions that I simply lack the language skills to translate.

I commented yesterday that we need more substantial filler and I stand by that. While relieved Fernanda confessed, her adolescent angst is just not enough to get very excited about this TN.

So, Gutierrez told Lili off. Quicker than I'd thought yet I did not get much satisfaction from it.

Marta "stands by" her daughter yet quickly forgets Luci's has been cut to the quick as she forgives Fer far too easily. Let's be honest - Fernanda is first in Marta's affections whether she wishes it to be true or not.

David is not giving us much to like but frankly, neither is the writing. There are endless possibilities and we need some action, rather than just plodding along.

Can someone tell me please who was the man was that Luci was speaking with? (I like the actor - can't remember his name). Did he offer her a job?

Another extraordinary recap that transcended the ordinary material. Thank you Cynthia.

DianaS

Tofie: I'm glad Leon found out the BRUTAL truth about Carito & the Mean Girls! Gut-wrenching for him being humiliated though.

He'll find somebody else though.

DianaS: Want to bet Gutierrez's law enforcement career gets destroyed when his secrets get exposed ?

Vivi: Graciela is not done manipulating Fernanda.

Susan & Luciana BFF's!

Diana the man was the owner of the Vinyard Luci is going to work for. Supposedly Juan (ONE) had already given her a glowing recommendation and he was thrilled to get her as a new employee.

Kirby, thank you so much for filling me in. Juan gave her a good recommendation? Shock? Nopis. Only Bobby, Susan and Miguel seem to want her to stay.

Steve, I don't think it will end well for Gutierrez either. Call me cynical :)

Diana

You know, the more I see the more I think Marta is not the Angel she seems. I mean, not all witches look like Graqciella, right.

A. Her words do not match her actions, by a looong shot.
B. She has the conniving looks all the time, and I think it is not just her horse face.
C.This Guiterras thing is just toooo much of a coincidence.

And another thing, WTF does David do all day? As a matter of fact what the hell do any of them do, except maybe Susan and Tano?
This chicken shit little vineyard appears to be a one man proprietorship and David has no idea where the money is going? People I know run much larger operations than that and know every detail without micromanaging their people.
Oh I stand corrected, we did see Miguel changing an oil filter on the John Deere the other day with not a drop of the black stuff in sight.

On a brighter note, the previews showed Miguel administering an attitude adjustment on ONE. Something like a trip to the chiropractor, but more active participation of the patient sans adjustment table. Ja Ja

Thanks so much, Cynthia! The recap was fantastic, and filled in all the gaps for me, since I'm only half watching this tn, and flipping between it and La Dona over on Telemundo. I need a little more than mean-girl machinations and gorgeous fields to keep me interested. Hopefully, we'll get more meat soon.

Since the actor playing the owner of Santa Barbara Vineyard/Lucia's new boss, is a telenovela regular, I'm guessing he'll play some kind of role in further plot development. Luci might actually take that job after all! Although it seems like all this stalling is just foreshadowing that she she'll go nowhere. There was something about his eagerness to believe the worst of David and hire Luci on the spot that seemed kind of off.

Thanks, Cynthia! Yah, boy. I'm so tired of Luciana waltzing around the vineyard, telling Dah-veed she's leaving and flouncing away only to show up and repeat the whole process again.

Gracie gives me heartburn.

Cynthia--Terrific recap. Thank you for the details. You had a sow's ear and made it into a silk purse. Well, it's the same sow's ear we've been chewing on for many episodes.

Yes, what did happen today? Susan and Tano's relationship is sanctioned.
Fernanda has confessed to the earring caper and apologized to the family--but I found it disappointing that David did not make the announcement to the whole staff (maybe not Fernanda apologizing), but I KNOW Perla and Carito will continue to think of Luci as the thief without David's declaration. Ramon didn't need it, of course, but when was David going to tell the rest. He made the discovery thing so public.

If the newly chastened Fer would stay that way, I can accept a Tano-Fer relationship. Their bedroom conversation was touching and she listened to him. He should have known, though that being in her bedroom was absolutely verboten.

Fer should take Gracie's BSC behavior as a warning. There's more to come. I think it has been difficult for Fer to be in the hands of 4 strong-willed women in the last few days (weeks, months and years for most of them)--and I include Marta, each with their own agendas.

I wonder what is really in store for Susan. She has a nasty divorce settlement in the offing. If her relationship with Tano doesn't work out, it will be very uncomfortable for both of them at work. (Oh, and what was that white cross-over tunic thing she was wearing. It didn't look very practical for lab work. She'd be just as attractive in a lab coat and jeans.)

Susanlynn--I got a laugh out of your comment on Luci's assorted shirts. At least in Amor Bravio, Camila had checkered shirts and white vests.

What is it going to take for Luci to come back to the vineyard, where not much happens anyway? I don't think I can take much more of Gracie sliming all over David while Luci is "away."

Poor puppy dog Miguel. He will follow Luci to the ends of the earth. He's earnest and true, good and handsome, but sometimes that just isn't enough. How is Luci going to let him down. I hope she is honest with him when the time comes and he doesn't just stumble onto an embrace and kissing between David and Luci.

Cynthia--again, thank you for the recap with screen shots. They always add some spice. Thank you for Sonia. Her brief appearance on screen was just enough.

Good work, Cynthia. I missed a few lines here and there so this is very helpful. However, there are some serious fails in the episode itself:

1. Wardrobe department: Why was Gutierrez wearing sergeant stripes when he was promoted to lieutenant during the time jump? Do your freakin' homework!

2. How did Carlos/Tano get into the house -- and upstairs at that -- without being seen by bulldog Sonia?

3. What conditions will David impose on releasing FerBrat from lockdown? Considering the seriousness of her transgression it has to be much more than the lame apology she offered. Considering her motive for the crime he probably can't threaten her with convent school if she pulls anything else.

4. What I would love to know is how FerBrat would feel if Graciela were to become her stepmother. She should be able to see that her viper of an aunt has the hots for David.

5. It is long past due for David to evict Lillian. Her getting the police after he said he didn't want the police involved is more than adequate reason.

6. Graciela's remark about David trusting her is a red flag he's missing. Big time.

I like Gutierrez' threat. He knew she had planned on him deporting the whole family but he also knew she was enjoying the misery she imposed on them. He will pay for that one eventually, but he should have her stewing for at least a little while.

Graciela's offer to fess up her role in the frame-up must have been a ruse and it wouldn't have gotten FeBrat off the hook.

thank you, CYnthia, for that detailed retelling. It appears that the cold I was fighting before Thanksgiving has circled back, and I started coughing and felt headachy yesterday at work. Thus, I dozed during this episode . Luckily, I woke up in time to see MIguel go all BSC on Juan.

Diana...I suppose I notice Luci's shirt of many colors because I sometimes buy pieces of clothing in different colors if I especially like the style.Maybe we need a drinking game when each new color appears?

Anita if earnest, true, good, and handsome isn't enough...yikes. ...what is?

I saw the conversation in the field after the cops had left and David had revealed that Fer had stolen and planted the earrings. When David gave back the notebook to Luci, she made a very poignant point to him. She acknowledged how much the notebook means to her, because it contains all the things her father had taught her about vineyards. But she pointed out that despite this, the notebook is NOT her father. Basically, it's ridiculous to get worked up over things (e.g. earrings, notebooks), because they are just THINGS-- not the people they remind us of. I think David got her meaning very clearly.

I don't know how to do that. Can you walk me through it?

Cynthia- Looks like someone (I'm guessing blog mom Jane) went and put the break in for you. Email me or anyone on your team, and they can explain how to put the break in next time.

Aha! It was Anita who put it in for you, as she is now an admin. Thanks, Anita!

in real life, do you know of any man who married his wife's sister after the wife died?

Dave's wishy-washy dimness is annoying. Does he not recall that blonde sneaky snake slithering all over him right in front of his wife \ her sister????? Lisa was fully aware that her sister was obsessed with her husband. I still cannot believe that LIsa even allowed Graceless in her home after the blatant way she pursued Dave. I realize that some guys do not seem to realize that women are flirting with them, but Graceless was less than subtle when she was around DImdave even in front of her sister and her mother . Awkward

ViVi yup, Little Her Hotness is turning out to be the smartest one of the whole kit an kaboodle. Her sermon to Daveeeed about things are just that....T H I N G S.... was right on the money. Dad's notebook, but it aint Daddy.

I just don't know, there is just a huge intellectual divide between those two. I honestly think she is more suited to....M E E E !

Susanlynn, we know. It is just hard for us guys. The deck is stacked against us. Conventional wisdom says many times us horndogs are pursuing someone who IS. NOT. INTERESTED. That's what we do. Ask Leon. And as such women have an array of acceptable tools to shut us down. When then genders are reversed, we are almost helpless unless we want to look like JackAsses.

Believe me.

I just do not get women who flirt with guys when their wives or girlfriends are STANDING RIGHT THERE.

Thanks Vivi, for bringing that to my attention on page breaks. I'll get educated on this very quickly, but sometimes we learn by our mistakes. It's one of those things where you say, "well, I won't make that mistake again." I'm glad Anita came to my rescue! My hearty thanks to Anita!

When I wrote the recap, the brief scene where Luciana met with Adolfo from the SB vineyard just went right past me. I saw it, meant to put it in, and then promptly forgot. But I did notice that he kept on saying that Juan told him that the reason Luciana was leaving was because David mistreated her. It seemed to me that she tried to say something to him about that, but he just went on and on. We could tell that she was miffed to find that out and upset that Juan said such a thing.

Urban: Good catch! I didn't notice the wardrobe stuff or Gutierrez's stripes on his uniform. I don't come from a military family or police family so stuff like that goes right over my head! (My dad was a fire fighter, no stripes that I remember, he was a Battalion chief when he retired). Also, I keep wondering why David doesn't evict Lillian. She's such a burden in this household and doesn't accomplish anything accept making trouble.

Tofie: You are right, no one is paying attention to Gracie's motives and how she is poisoning Fernanda's mind. Gracie is going right under the radar because she is so sneaky about it.

DianaS: Thank you for your comments. My Spanish has really improved since I started watching telenovelas and I have been starting to remember some of the little colloquialisms in the language. I come from a Spanish speaking family, but my generation did not pick up the native speaking, although I always understood most of everything.

Thanks everyone for your comments. Now I have to get back to work. I have this pesky little thing called a job. :) I'll check in again later.

Thanks, Cynthia, for this recap. And thanks to Anita for yesterday's recap. I was offline all day and haven't seen a full episode in a while, but now I don't feel as though I've missed anything.

"Sometimes you have to do what you have to do" is a recurring theme in this novela - Marta, Gracie, and Perla have all talked about having to do something distasteful in order to accomplish something. Maybe other people have said it too that I've forgotten or not noticed. I'm just wondering how many people will end up doing things they don't want to do, and how bad will those things get.

Thanks again Cynthia. I have noticed a little nuance with Gracie. When she has told a bald faced lie or is major misleading someone or other chicanery, she always stares into or at their eyes to gauge the reaction. She is most obvious when her victim is not looking directly at her, but rather staring into the bedding or off into space.

You will not see it with ONE or Lil, because they both have her number. But with Daveeed, Ferbrat and others who she thinks, maybe rightly, that she is fooling, watch her long gazes to see if they took the bait. Like a chemist dribbling a drop into a test tube and watching to see the reaction.

Ah, so Gracie has a "tell." Neat observation!

Kirby: Graciela always strategizes & plots with success including manipulating Fernanda (Aranza 2.0) non-stop.

I wouldn't be surprised if Graciela or Lillian have either Leon or Marta whacked. I don't think Graciela is done killing yet.

Julie: I like the BFF's session between Luciana & Susan :)

Reminds me of Isabel & Gabi from "Por Siempre Mi Amor".

Thanks, Cynthia. Great imagery: Sonia and Lillian are cackling in the kitchen together. But maybe an insult to hens? :>

Yay, at last poor León knows Carito is only using him. I've been thinking the actor needs a new agent for getting him this weak character, but maybe things will start to pick up for León now.

Marta has always seen Luciana as strong-willed and independent, even when Luciana was a child. I'm not sure if Marta cares more about Fer than she does Luciana, but she certainly feels more comfortable nurturing Fer's "I'm scared and I don't know what I'm doing" thing. Luciana's independent streak is something Marta is just not used to.

Bingo, Niecie. By George, I think you've got it.

Luciana was probably an independent child from the second she could walk. Leon was probably more clingy and Marta may have felt out of her depth with this combo.

Niecie..that makes sense plus the mother and daughter have been separated for years and LUci is a young woman now. MArta was a mother figure for Fer who probably clung to her after Lisa's death because Daddy Dave had sunk into grief, TIa Gracie ran away from what she had done, and Liliana...well.. is not exactly the warm and loving type of Abuela.

I'd bettcha we are about ready to see David tell Grace to keep her tentacles..er...hands to herself. I have noticed several times recently when she was stroking his arm he would glance at her hand and start to walk or change the subject. It looks like she is beginning to get on his nerves. Maybe just my wishful thinking, but it is about time.

I want to see Lili and Grace turn on each other. An Evil Mother / Evil Daughter war is always fun.

Niecie in MD: Ha! You are right about the "cackling". It is an insult to hens.

Lillian and Graciela turning on each other is likely, Just as I think the same thing will happen in ECDLP.

Hi cynthia Hampton, good recap. The b...witches are gathering. I really don't want
Lucy to leave. David needs her. I know fer is 16ish Or somewhere around that age, but some teens can read between the manipulation lines, guess shes not one of the fortunate to be able To do that.

Hopefully the gut-man will develope a brain
And a concious about marta. But then theres
That other guy that likes marta. These folks
Lives are a big pot of mixed up smesh.

Leon is a nice guy who derserves better than
What he got from that braty girl. They're not even interesting enough to talk about. I hope
David don't give up on lucy, I like their chem.

Ok on to next episode, thanks cynthia. Is this
Your first recap? You're good at it.

Nina: Let's hope they bring a new girl to be with Leon!

Damn shame he had to find out Carito's true colors.

Steve: Dam shame he spent a penny on that cheap Ho.
