Vino el Amor #27 Wednesday 12/7/16: Juan Manipulates and Blackmails
Labels: vino
The next scene I'm like - WTF! Susan and Tano in bed, Leon is looking on, Carito comes in the room and then his Dad who takes a ring-side seat before loudly clearing his throat! Que the hell! Okay, I know there clothes are on and that makes it not as kinky as it could be but it's, I don't know, stooopid! Gosh. What have they done to Susan?
Okay, back to the show!
"downright embarrassed, but she is not!"
Help me, are there teenage writers trying to write adult parts or adult writers trying to remember what it was like as a teen? Or, does an adult write one line and a teen the next and alternate?
Sonia stole the show again.
Is Juan sleeping in his former office? Haven't seen him leave.
David needs some self respect and stop acting like a 14 year old fighting over a girl.
How does Miguel, with thinly veiled menacing threats toward David, keeps his job?
So, we are down to one functioning adult in this thing. How long before Cesar's regression?
"Of course Tano is feeling quite like he just doesn’t measure up. (Well of course he doesn’t, he’s still a kid)" and "(Are you kidding me? I doubt Gracie ever took a chemistry class)" were among many favorites.
“(I don’t know about everyone else, but this seems so much like being in a college dorm where 18 year olds do this. Susan should be way beyond this and downright embarrassed, but she is not!)”. I must tell you – this scene was totally cringe worthy. Ack.
Lila, they have ruined Susan's character. Totally. tofie noticed it as soon as this started occurring and I am sadly nodding my head in agreement.
Thank you so much for translating this pivotal information: “Juan says that Gracie told him that when she came that day for Bobby’s birthday party, her plans were to take David away from Lisa any way she could so she could have David for herself”. Am I correct in that Lili did not fathom exactly what this meant? Cruel and disdainful, I still think she would react if she realized Graciela murdered Lisa. Am I wrong??
David and Luci really need to start a little romance brewing. Not sure how much longer we can be subjected to the inappropriate, mismatched Susan and Tano (I'm starting to think SHE is too childishly immature for him) and the abusive Juan and Perla.
tofie, you are so right in that "Sonia stole the show again". Veronica is sensational and one of the few (current) joys in watching at this point.
Cynthia, thank you!
Diana
David and Luci really need to start a little romance brewing. Not sure how much longer we can be subjected to the inappropriate, mismatched Susan and Tano Diana, this is part of my frustration and this. . .
How does Miguel, with thinly veiled menacing threats toward David, keeps his job? ITA, Tofie! You've mentioned his flexing and posturing before.
Now we're going to get more catty sniping between Luci and Gracie to add to that between Gracie and Lilli and Lilli and Marta. . . No romance, no action, just a bunch of people barely working and a bunch of nasty feline caterwauling! AAAARRRRGGGGH
I don't understand an adult man literally begging a young woman to like him while another of his employees, who has worked no where else, gets in his face puffed up like a peacock, to warn him off the girl. Are they gonna fist fight and winner gets the girl?
I think its stupid the only time Luciana seems to like David is when she sees him with Graciela and will punish him for days.
Such a big deal was made about employee fraternization and Miguel being in the girls room but Tano and Susan pile up on the couch, in his bed, make out on the stairs and no one says a word. Susan's husband can point to her affair with a boy as cause for divorce.
In retrospect, Fernanda drunkenly trying to creep in Tano's window, the most age appropriate stunt. Perhaps it was initially written for David but adults were in charge that day.
Susie and Tanie...zzzzz hey Susie was not exactly a Mensa candidate as NanciGaga in Lo Imperblababla either. Maybe she likes these umm.well parts.
I know Gracie is going to burn in Hell, but at least there will be one hot chick there that I know. As much as I hate her, I am beginning to like her (Luci syndrome)
So ONE has been pre-fired, fired and booster-fired and he is still there meeting with the coven. Seventeen Luci has quit seventeen times and still almost causing little cock fights. I'd build a quick paper trail and fire his (Miggy) ass. I'm hearing the Eagles:
Mirrors on the ceiling, the pink champagne on ice
And she said, "We are all just prisoners here of our own device"
And in the master's chambers they gathered for the feast
They stab it with their steely knives but they just can't kill the beast
Last thing I remember I was running for the door
I had to find the passage back to the place I was before
"Relax," said the night man, "We are programmed to receive
You can check out any time you like but you can never leave"
You can be fired, you can quit, you can spit in the boss's face, but next episode, there you are. AAaarrrrggghhh
Oh what a hot mess Sonia is. She is just a big, dripping, quivering, twitching bowl of estrogen Jello. SUBMIT to your master wench, Yes Mi Lord. If David touched her she would faint right on the spot.
And yes, Sonia is all those things, nice description. She kills me and David finally noticed the way she "presents" herself in their every interaction. That was funny how he told her not to call him Mi Señor. The look on his face, he might as well have said "ewwwww!"
As I remember Lillian was in the doorway and heard one (he doesn't deserve caps) talking on the phone saying something real NOT subtle like, "yah, I'm ripping off David ur hee hee," and she convinced him to let her in on it. Unless someone has a different recollection, this is a recent alliance.
Evidently, all these teens should be in detention hall. Sorry I missed Tano and SUsan spooning. Is there really supposed to be a ten year or more age difference there, or do the writers think we have forgotten how little Tano was when this tale began? Whatever.
Love the EAgles. RIP , GLenn Frey. We saw DOn Henley and Stevie NIcks a few years ago in concert...great. IT does seem to be impossible to leave that enchanted vineyard. I would like to See DAve wake up and take control instead of being manipulated by so many of the people in his orbit....Fer, Graceless, Lilian, NOJuan, Lovely LUCI. Cesar seems to be the only one truly in his corner.
I ,too, am wondering how Miguel gets away with flexing and posturing in front of his boss .Dave is not the strong galan of old telenovelas.
The enmity between Lillian and her remaining spawn continues to show itself more and more: ”Well, look at my Daddy. Well I know you mistreated him and all…but he went after your friend Marta!” She continues laughing at Lillian. Then Lillian says she can’t take more of this and walks off as Gracie continues to laugh wickedly.
I doubt that Lillian and Marta were ever friends and the comment was sarcastic in view of developments in the previous episode. It looks as though Lillian and Gracie have opposite goals here. If Gracie really wants David and the upwardly socially mobile status she would have while being married to him she would want the vineyard to be successful. She likely doesn't know that Juan and Lillian intend to essentially steal the property and ruin him. Juan was claiming in that scene with Perla that he is going to do this in revenge for his father's losses, which harkens back to Bruno in LQNPA, by the same producer/director. I'm sure there will be a later reveal that no crime was committed by David's father and that Juan's father did something illegal or unethical.
I think the unholy alliance between Juan and Lillian was already in place when the curtain went up. If not, it's been ongoing since Lisa's death (which nobody yet seems to realize was a murder except for Juan).
I'm surprised that Lillian didn't pick up on what Juan was talking about when he threatened Gracie. Lillian was three sheets to the wind at Bobby's birthday party, which could easily have prevented her noticing anything strange in Gracie's behavior that day.
More later.
SOOOO... Marta and Lillian were once friends? (Gracie said so?) That would explain the profound bitterness, above and beyond the affair. Or was Gracie being sarcastic? (I'm thinking Lil and Marta weren't already enemies before that happened, but possibly they didn't know one another at all.)
Kirby: "I wonder how ONE and Lillian became partners in crime to begin with." Like Lila said, Lil caught Juan embezzling and has been blackmailing him for a percentage ever since. That's pretty much it. She was also encouraging/reinforcing David's depression after Lisa died, to keep him from paying more attention to the business.
I don't think Lillian really could grasp the severity of how Juan said that Gracie only came to Bobby's birthday party to steal David away from Lisa. I think that Lillian could only think that Grace meant she was there to break of the marriage, maybe lure David into bed with her, but certainly not to murder her own sister. No mother, no matter how bad she is, would want to even think about one of her kids capable of murdering their siblings.
This vineyard is something else, that's all I have to say about its administration and management.
I doubt that Lillian and Marta knew each other prior to the affair, which I believe happened in Mexico before Marta married Marcos.
UA: There's got to be more to the story as to why Lillian hates Marta so much.
Cynthia: I'm waiting for that big shoe to drop when Graciela's murder of Lisa is revealed just to see the look on Lillian's face!
Great comments. This episode reeked of teenaged behavior. I would even spread that to David and Miguel confronting each other over Luci in the bodega. Susanlynn--You captured the whole thing in a nutshell.
Poor Cesar the nerdy doctorcito. Cynthia, you nailed it with, "Gracie is on a “date” with Cesar." And he's the only adult left in the whole pack? Pity us.
Does anyone out there suspect that Susan's second fainting-light headedness is our typical tn signal that she is pregnant? Shame on her if she is. This is not the time for her to have played with Tano at such a dangerous game. She's old enough to know better. I certainly hope it's only the after-effects of her toxic poisoning.
So, in the conversation between Gracie and Lilian in the hospital hallway, now we know Gracie knew all along that her daddy cheated on her mother. That was the beginning of her snicker. She began to cackle as she realized that one of his conquests was Marta. Another little piece to the jigsaw puzzle is filled in.
The perfume trick was so LAME. And why was David trying to do vineyard paperwork where the wind constantly blows, instead of his office? He's there most of the time anyway. LAME. Then instead of making Grace sit down, he stands up, just so she can do the hug-thing. LAME, LAME. Of course Luci would be positioned so she could see but not hear and jealousy rears it's usual head. LAME--'cmon writers, give us something a little more adult. Like drugging him and getting in bed naked with him and take selfies (Just kidding.)
Nevertheless, I can't wait for tonight. What will Luci do with three otherwise full-time jobs, reporting to teenaged boys?
ITA Gracie was just trying to needle her mom by calling Marta her "friend." But back when Marta collapsed sick on the floor, Gracie gave her a look other than (in addition to?) contempt. Kind of a nostalgic look like they've been on a long journey together. Call me crazy, but I won't be surprised if they had a friendship before Fernando turned up.
Hope we get to meet Susan's ex. I want to see the guy who drove her back to adolescence. I can't blame Ramón though for being proud that his young son has attracted an accomplished babe. Tano could've wound up with Perla or Carito - shudder!
Come on people, I'm getting bored. I want some bunnyhopping with handcuffs, spankings and hair pulling, and I want to start thinning out the herd a little. I was bored when I was in high school, I don't want to relive the good old days.
Girl in the throws of menepause. They should that down, unless they're turnin him into a crazier person than he already is.
I like the way david and miguel do the "Im the
One That will win luciana" dance. I like their
Honesty about their feelings for her, and she
Is lovin it. So am I. They can do away with the rest Of this, I like watchin these two hot roosters go at It, so fun and entertaining, Lol.
And they'er so gentlemanly with it. They have
Got to be laughin after those scenes.
Ok, next. Thanks Cynthia.
Cesar could be the lucky guy, who ends up with Susan in the end.
I know Luci isn't feeling the chemistry now, but maybe she will bump her head and wake up feeling hot for Miguel. It could happen.
I think SUsan will end up with the good doctor and not her rebound boytoy Tano. P.s. Tano would not look so young with a different haircut. Those unkempt locks make him look pubescent. Commit to a style, Tano...shirt or long. Pick one.No wings. His threat to her hubby was foolish and will end up making trouble for SUsan .
Yes, Dave did win the sixpack contest, with guns. But Miguel could probably get bigger guns too. And Dave's sixpack could disappear after eating just a couple of Twinkies. So I'm not giving Dave an advantage there.
