La Piloto #34, 4-21-2017: Escape Is Not An Option--Until It Is

Parte 1~~

Monica informs DEA Dave that the hidden police/DEA agent saw activity at Aero Tours.  He says somebody came across a big bag in the woods but couldn’t identify whoever was in it.

Narcocienda Big Shot calls Oscar and informs him that Col. SantaMarina still has Yolanda jailed at the military base out in the jungle and yeah, she’s well-guarded.  He won’t stop until he’s gotten to her and killed her himself.   Yoli’s remembering Col. S&M’s goading her about why John, who she’d even give her life for, has left her on her own and not bothered to rescue her up to now.  She figures it’s now time for plan B, C, and or D.

Oscar and John are discouraged that Mena, who always answers his phone, still hasn’t gotten back to them.  Zulima calls to inform them both that she’s learned Lisbeth and Amanda are both alive.  She overheard Arley and Capt. Arguelles discussing it, that she turned up at the police station.  She wanted to report on the Lucios.  Arley left for the station and hasn’t been back since.  Amanda’s at Cindy’s house, also alive.  Zuli threatened her to get her to give the address where she lived.  (I guess they don’t need no stinkin’ paperwork on employees; that would have been too compromising?)  Now she’s tied up in the storeroom.

John wants her brought over so he can get her to talk, one way or another.  Oscar says you can thank Mena and Roberto for sprinkling their beloved gal pals all across the countryside. Oscar sends for Rob who’s got some real ‘splainin’ to do.

And speaking of dense damsels totally distressed, Olivia and her mama are chatting about how stupid and stubborn kid brother, Christian, was to travel down to Villa Antigua for revenge.  Liv decides that Sindy probably knows something and will call her to find out if she’s seen him around.  She calls and gets Zuli instead.  Zuli lies that she’s been kept a prisoner at the bar.  (Then how and why is she able to answer the damn phone?  Those inquiring minds don’t seem to know to ask themselves this.)  She naively gives away that she’s back in Tres Fuegos with Mama at the house.

Yoli wakes up and notes that it’s all quiet on the home front.  The party of all parties has passed onto the slumber of the dead drunk.  She wakes up Castro, her young guard, and tells him she’s got to go to the bathroom and fast.  He gets her there.  She shuts the door and checks the bars at the window which result in, conveniently, being loose enough to pull out of the old cement walls.  She high tails it just as Castro is ordering her to get out of there now.  As he opens the door and sees the unbarred window, she’s climbing up and over the barbed wired chain linked fence and into the jungle beyond.

Castro reports to Col. S&M who calls out the soldiers and puts them out to search the entire jungle.  She cannot be left to get beyond the river or they’ll lose her trail for good.

Back at the DEA’s current set up, Dave tries getting Dean Simpson to help out by telling him all he knows, then of course Dave will help him with well, however the game is played.  Simp-sone, knowing that his own team plays dirty and for keeps, gives Dave bupkes.   He insists that Dave and Monica have it all wrong.  He’s not associated in any way with Los Lucio.

At the same time, Moni answers Simpson’s phone.  Why, it’s Montgomery.  He tells her to let Dean go because she has no real proof.  Without a recording or a video of him doing/making contact, the charge is useless.  She makes the mistake of explaining that they’ve got to keep him locked up at least until the take down operation of Aero Tours and the Lucios’ hideout in Villa Antigua is a done deal—a big time boo-boo.  Montgomery thinks fast and says, well ok, then keep him in there till it’s over.  He then calls Vergara, La Sombra’s shyster lawyer and right hand man, about the impending DEA operation.  (--And now we know why Monica is always going to be somebody’s #2 if not their # 3, 4 or 5--and on the outside looking in with these things.  She has a big L for Loser imprinted on her forehead from now on in Viewerville.)

end parte 1~~

Parte2~~

Parte 2~~

Raul Arguelles has brought his papi, aka Pop Rent-A-Cop, home to recuperate.  Papi tries to warn Raul that he’s got a time bomb with Bette in his house.  Raul tells papi that it’s only till DEA Dave finishes with the Aero Tours take down operation that’s about to take place.  Pops pretends to take his pills from Raul and to rest.  “—Don’t be so certain they’re going to be able to snatch the two of them!”

Speaking of snatching defeat from the hands of victory, Moni tells Dave about her phone call with Montgomery and what he told her to do with Simp-sone.  --And, now let the raids begin!

Liv is trying to continue her conversation with Zulima when Zuli hears sirens outside and slams down the phone.  Liv didn’t hear them and wonders what’s what.  Zulima takes her pistol out of the drawer and scurries to the storeroom.  She wakes up Sindy and says they’re leaving.  She can tell her story to Los Lucio.

The police raid Cielito Lindo while Rob lies to Oscar about having killed Lisbet and Liv.  “—So, you killed both of them?  I’m proud of you.”  Yessir! “-- Now, just how did you do it?”  Oscar flies into a rage and is about to shoot the guy’s head off when John gets a call that the raid’s taking place.

Col. S&M has the prostitutes put In the cells.  He’s going to question them to see if anybody might have helped Yoli escape somehow.

John kept Christian alive and he has them bring him and the grounds keeper and his wife for hostages. As soon as Raul’s out of the room Pops rushes to call Oscar about the approaching DEA take-down. He explains he was wounded and couldn’t tell them before.  Also Mena’s in jail along with Simp-sone and Lisbet is at his home.  “-Kill that whore!”

Zuli accuses Sindy of blabbing to the Feds.  She denies it.  They head from the bar towards Aero Tours

Outside Aero Tours, Dave tells Moni that something’s not right about this.  It seems too quiet, like they were warned ahead of time that they were coming.  John and Oscar come out with the groundskeeper and his wife.  “—Let us go or we’re going to kill these two and all the other people on the grounds here.” “—Give up.  It’s over!” John won’t be told what to do and to prove it, he kills the groundskeeper.  “—Tell that helicopter to fly back where it came from or I’ll kill all the rest of them!”  John returns inside with the wife who he immediately ties up and gags.  Dave sends the heli away.

Yoli is outside the gates but can’t go any further.  She sees the river and stops to consider her choices.  (Viewerville hopes she remembers the terrain from when she flew in, considering she’s smarter than the average bear and is about due.)

Pops grabs Bette in the kitchen and drags her out to the front hall when she knocks a vase or something down and it breaks, waking up Raul who runs toward the noise and finds them at the gated garden entrance.  He then realizes his dad is working for the bad guys and threatens to shoot if Pops doesn’t let Bette go and drop the gun.  Pops is a stubborn old dude and won’t.  Raul shoots at the cop car which is parked just outside the gate.  His papi lets Bette go but jumps into the police car and manages to drive away.  Pops has to pay for his traitorous ways, he screams at Bette.  “--But he’s your father!” He ignores her and stomps off.

Meanwhile, in Altamirano, Estela and Rosalba have been waiting all day and all night in the reception area of the police station there for their paperwork and a room.  Finally Estela explodes and a cop in uniform comes by to explain the paperwork just came through for them to get a hotel room.  They are escorted off.

Well, now one of the guys working for Narcociendo says the army’s looking for La Piloto now also cuz she’s escaped.  If they can’t find her in the town in the next 30 minutes they’re meeting up somewhere else.

Somehow Sin tries running away and gets hit by a car.  She’s dead instantly.  Zuli clucks to herself as she looks at Sindy’s prostrate body over in the street.  “—Well, you did that to yourself, girl.”

John and Oscar are arguing about to leave or not to leave.

Zuli finds a pay phone and tells them that the bar’s been raided by the Feds and that Sindy’s now been killed.  John tells her to call Pops to pick her up and stay where she is since the Feds have now surrounded Aero Tours.  While Dave is trying to map out the place and get his bearings with the head of the assault and Moni, Moni’s phone won’t stop ringing. Dave says answer it.  Turns out it is her sister calling.  Moni walks off to take the call.

The person on the other line isn’t her sister, Sofia.  It’s Vergara and he’s got her sister tied up.  If she doesn’t do what he tells her to do, her sister will die.  Moni’s going to have to do 3 things to save her: 1. get the Lucio Brothers out of Aero Tours; 2. free Mena; 3. get them to free Simp-sone.  “—But this is crazy!”  “—Ok.  Your sister will pay the price, then.”  To make his point he shoots at her sister but doesn’t kill her. “—Don’t hurt her!” “--So, now you’re going to call the Lucio’s and tell them how they’re to get out of there.  Don’t worry as I’m going to call Capt. Arguelles so that he helps you.”  “—Arguelles works for you?”  “—As do you now.”

I love it!

Steve if Yoli can just get across that little stream she might be safe. It looked to be flowing pretty fast, but if she could let it carry her downstream a little she might make it. The cut on her arm is not helping any.

Monica is being a typical TN dummy to lie and try to save her sister. She should tell Dave exactly what is going on and the location, then continue on with the current operation. I am tired of 'Plot Stupidity' in these TNs. People doing stupid things simply for the sake of the plot.

I agree Kirby that the writers know what they want but aren't clever enough to write it so we have characters acting stupidly or plot stupidity where we have to suspend belief. Yoli only makes smart decisions when her life is on the line, every other time she makes the wrong decision. The fact that John can't at least see thru Zuli is driving me nuts. I give him the benefit of the doubt with his brother.

The whole Monica suddenly has a sister and now in danger makes no sense. This isn't a one woman operation. Other agents, like Dave, are in on the plan so expecting one agent to turn around the whole team is ludicrous . The fact is the writers have had the dea on the Lucios back from day one and thus have to keep inventing ways to keep them from being captured. With all of the traitors the writers have put in the dea, even if the Lucios were caught, Montgomery would be able to concoct a way to free them. I don't think they will be caught but go out in a blaze of glory, which means we have 50 more episodes of the dea missing opportunities.

Carvivlie, I have been watching VEA right before La Piloto and it has most unbelievable requirements for suspension of logic ever seen. I had commented that Bugs Bunny and Friends were more believable. I don't want to see LP go the same way.

Give us something that makes sense that we can sink our teeth into and THINK. You know, try to outsmart a bad guy or figure out how to save Yoli or something. I don't want to sit for two hours going , "Really? Crimminey, you expect us to believe THAT? Was she just born? And 28 years old?"

I too am disappointed with the plot twist of Monicas siater. Real law enforcers know that there is a high probabilty that the abductee will ve killed regardless. We in viewervlle know that sis saw faces saw i bet she dues during this ordeal.

Kirby Ive invested too much tome in VEA...should have bailed on that one a long tie ago but i watch these TNs for spanish not for logic.

And by a stroke of blind luck the bars over the window where they have most likely imprisoned guts like The Rock just happened to be loose. Lucky you Yolander.

Kirby: I'm getting a bad vibe this TN will NOT have a happy ending just like UniMas' "Mujeres De Negro".

Carvivlie: I still don't see Ortega making it alive in the Gran Final when that time comes.

Thanks for part one Jardinera!

Agree Steve that Ortega won't make it. Someone good from the dea office has to die and we only have two, and Dave is saved for Yoli.

Love "dense damsels totally distressed". Pure vintage Jardinera! Glad that Yolanda can wrestle iron bars loose from concrete in a flash. I'm having trouble these days just opening jars and child-proof caps! Thanks amiga for an entertaining Part 1. Probably won't get back to read Part 2 until much later this evening.

Hi all! Yes, Judy: "I'm having trouble these days just opening jars and child-proof caps!" me three.......

Great excitement the last two episodios. Lovin' it. Nope, Carvi/Steve, I don't think Moni will make it through. DEA make great sacrificial lambs and that "L" on her forehead can also stand for Lost Little Lamb as well as Loser. Somehow, I believe it does.

Nett: ITA, Sofia won't be left alive to tell the tale. Question is, will Moni tell Dave about the call she just got or roll over for Vergara?

Carviville: "I don't think they will be caught but go out in a blaze of glory, which means we have 50 more episodes of the dea missing opportunities." You are probably right on both points.

Thanks Jardinera for Part 2!!!

Well this is no Yago but I'm still enjoying it. Enough action to cover its failings. I haven't watched VEA. I wasn't a fan of the actors chosen to lay the leads. I mean I like them both separately just not as love interests. I have gotten to the point that I only want to watch tns with less than 100 episodes so any pain is of short duration.

Well...at least we don't have to wait forever for Raul to learn the truth about his pops. Now,,,how does this play out when they see each other again,

Nett

Oh my...found Part II rather depressing. Not your fault Jardinera, you did it with your usual sassy, tongue-in-cheek style but oh my, more dead bodies. I think I'm definitely more the sappy girl meets boy and after a gazillion dumb breakups, the two presumably live happily ever after. Mayhem and murder I can get in the metro section of the Dispatch.

But thanks amiga! for keeping me up to date on the doins'.

True Nett. Pops tried to shield Raul before but with the truth out will he kill him or try to save him.

Thanks, Jardinera. Viewerville hopes she remembers the terrain from when she flew in, considering she’s smarter than the average bear and is about due.) - ha!

Sorry to see Cindy go. And now Amanda and Cindy's mom are sitting ducks. Thanks goodness the bar doesn't ask employees for their address.

So far Monica has been pretty smart, other than sleeping with a coworker she just met. Fingers crossed she will tell Dave about her sister. She should trust Dave enough.

At last Raul knows the truth about his pops. The good guys sure need to compare notes.

Yoli is our Star, and it appears the only good guy male is Mejia, but how in the world are those two going to wind up together.?

1. There are it seems hundreds of people from both the "good" side and the bad side who want them dead.

2. Yoli is not just a bad girl, she is a superstar BAD girl. What could redeem her enough to be with Dave Mejia?

3. If they DO become a couple, Dave better be careful. She could KILL him with her bare hands. (Window Bars)

Kirby--You ask entirely too many damn fine logical questions. Haven't you been watching Vino? Logical questions do not apply to illogical telenovelas!

Alfredo--Mil gracias. I'm still catching up after getting through MdN and the explosive end. Now I can concentrate on The Rachel Madow Show and La Piloto. I'm up to 4/12 now, but I don't expect you to wait for me. See you in a few days!!!!

Oooops, Kirby--you DO know all about illogic passing for logic in a telenovela. I try not to read the comments on an episode I haven't seen yet, but yours caught my eye.

Jardinera--This one is yours. My thanks go to you, too. I'll get to it in a few days--"Dense damsels totally distressed"--what else is new? Still, can't wait to find out why.

Kirby, the only way Yoli stays out of jail is if she makes some kind of deal with the DEA to turn on the Lucios, but they would have to take her back for that to work, or the DEA catches them alive and she turns evidence...But then with all of the crooks in the DEA office how would she even survive, or the baddies may decide to take out the Lucios in jail, to save themselves....So, again, how does Yoli stay out of jail to have her happily ever after with Dave?!

Anita. Ooops. My bad :-)
Carvivlie. Thanks.... Maybe she just move to Sonoma and get a job stomping grapes.
